When I became a mom I realized how magnificent
women are
the fact that
for nine months we create a human being inside us
and, of course, our body
undergoes a lot of changes that are not easy at all
and then we give birth
which is usually pretty grueling
and everything to bring a life into this world
Many of us constantly struggle and aim to
be better individuals
the perfect friend, the perfect mother, the perfect wife
with the perfect body, the successful professional
and the fact is that we are already all of that
we just have to redefine
success and perfection
you are magnificent, don't ever forget that, ever
MOTHER
how you can spend weeks, months and even years
without sleeping like you would like to, and all for your little one
How you grow and evolve as a person to set an
example for your daughter
How you always do your best, trying to raise
your children in the best possible way
How you find the wisdom
to guide a human being that with his uniqueness
will contribute towards our society's future
How sometimes in the midst of moments of impatience
frustration and anger
your heart can melt in one second
with an "I love you" or a hug
How despite carrying out one of the most difficult tasks
for a human being, having a child
you keep going, you keep at it
regardless of what may come your way
Now, if you have a child with a disability
or rather different ABILITIES
you have even more reasons to feel proud of yourself
Because after receiving a diagnosis and feeling knocked out
you got up
and now you're winning the battle
Because soon you understood that your daughter has great potential
and you will not let a diagnosis, medical terminology or
statistics define who she is
Because in addition to the extracurricular activities
you travel back and forth every week
to therapy
Because perhaps you visit more specialists
than you thought you would
but that is precisely what makes you realize
and value how fantastic
the human body is
Because sometimes you spend more time than you
would like in a hospital
looking after your son or daughter
but that strength that is in you, is the one that everyone seeks
Because you learned that comparisons are useless
because we are all different and we all grow at
our own pace
Because besides being a nutritionist, chef
psychologist
driver
secretary
teacher
photographer
doctor
or more than a doctor you are a specialist depending on what your child has
you are also a therapist
and an attorney
Because you know how to navigate in a society that doesn't always understand
or see what you can see
Because you have the empathy
that the world needs right now
Because you break the mold
Because you are an inspiration to someone that is watching you
and if by know you haven't noticed
because you are EXTRAORDINARY
