Toyota Supra Turbo vs Toyota MR2 Turbo - Car vs Car - Duration: 3:51.

it's time for car vs. car contest, every week two contestants will show off their

car with 90 second videos, to compete to win $100 Amazon gift card for me and the

winner will be chosen by you in a poll at the end of this video, and here comes

this week's contestants, hey guys this is my 1991 Toyota mr2 Turbo, I've had the car

for seven years was available in Canada from 1990 until 1993, we got some Toyo

proxy r1 our tires on the car, braided brake lines, braided clutch lines,

polyurethane suspension, polyurethane motor mounts, walbro fuel pump upgraded

turbo, we have electronics in the car, we got a boost controller and a wideband o2

sensor, and a turbo timer here, the car is in great shape original paint, it's only

measures 45 inches off the ground, which is incredibly low, I'll go over here and

have a look at the motor and we'll get it out on the road, so have a look at the

engine here, it's the upgraded CT 27 from ATS racing running 16 pounds of boost

HKS blow-off valve, the fuel pressure regulator, the whole motor is basically

brand new, it's been resealed top to bottom with Toyota gaskets, the car

handles amazingly, it's so fun to drive, it's a go-kart on the streets, we'll

get it on the road and see how it sounds

all right so I hope you guys like the intro clip, but this is my car, this is a

1991 Toyota Supra Turbo, and unlike most supers out there, this one is actually

fairly stock, the only modifications I have done to it, there's a bilt head, ARP

head studs, metal head gasket, and the head is over torqued, which if you know your

mark 3 supras, you know that 7 M's have a tendency to blow the top off, so yeah

that's to prevent that, and other little modifications I have is coilovers

wheels and an exhaust, I'm heading up to Amelia Island Florida for a car show, so

look forward to some content on my youtube channel for that, which is Havok BS

if you guys want to see more of this car make sure to check out my channel and

subscribe and watch a couple my videos, so yeah thank you guys for

watching and thank you Scotty for putting my car on your channel, I really

appreciate it, thank you guys and good luck to everyone

well that was this week's videos, and remember to have your car shown here and

to compete to win, email me a picture of your car and I'll choose the best ones

to show in next week's episode, so if you never want to miss another one of my new

car repair videos, remember to ring that Bell!

Best Hybrid Sports Car? 2018 Lexus LC500h Review & Video Tutorial Class Cool Cars Sports Cars Tutor - Duration: 22:46.

Hey, hey everybody! Brock Frady here, helping you enjoy your ride. And I'm

coming to you with a very special 2018 Lexus LC 500 H. That amazing 354

horsepower hybrid from Lexus. Wait till you see the interior of this thing. We're

gonna go over the interior, the exterior, the specs. All that juicy, glorious stuff.

Thanks for watching everybody. What a color. This color is called nightfall

mica. The LED front lights. Lexus had to invent the process of making that light

specifically for the LC 500 because it uses the world's thinnest LED light in

an automotive function. Take a look at the inside of that light housing right

there. Those are little L's in that spindle grill. Man, you guys know that I'm

a huge fan of that grill. I think it is just absolutely beautiful. Notice that

there's a blue ring inner portion of that front emblem and that is

specifically on all of the Lexus hybrids. Has been since day one. Nnice and low to

the ground. And I love how wide it looks. See how wide those flares are? Those

fenders are? Holy cow that's beautiful. That is the sexiest car we've ever made.

Personally I think it's just as good-looking as the LFA. Some of you are

gonna hate on me for that but I'm sorry it is. You see that rear taillight? That

is the same symbol that is in the F Sport and F designs of the the Lexus

family. If you've seen a Lexus with the F Sport then you have seen that F right

there. And that is for the Fuji Raceway which is where Lexus does a lot of

testing for the performance vehicles. These are special tires these are run

flats. Right there says 275 40 RF 20 and so those are going to be the back

tires. And then we'll come up to the front those are 245 45 RF 20. So

they're 20 inch rims but they're 275 on the back 245. On the front of course

wider in the back than they are in the front. On the top this is a sword. You see

that goes all the way down so you can see the the starting point there and

then you can see right there. That's a samurai sword, supposed to be represent

one anyways. The exhaust all right here and this one is the hybrid so it doesn't

have the growl that the LC 500 non-hybrid has. But it's still an

unbelievably impressive vehicle to have the kind of horsepower that it has. You

know it's got 354 total system horsepower and look at that. Miles per

gallon. 26 City 35 highway. Now the window sticker of this one is $102,203 and it

has the all-weather package, the convenience package, heads up display,

trunk mat, cargo net, rail locks, and the illuminated door seals. Take a look at

the taillights. They look deeper than they really are. If

it were nighttime, there you go, you see that? Ot uses what's called the Infinity

prism principle. And it actually looks deeper than it really is.

If you could see it here in person and you would see that it they actually look

deep. And at night that looks so cool. Those are designed to look like the

afterburners of a fighter jet. Pretty awesome. Isn't that a cool-looking LED turn

signal down low right there? And there's your front turn signal there. And then

there's another turn signal right there inside the rear view mirror on the

outside. Here's the key for the LC. You can see it has lock on top, unlock below

that, hold button for the trunk, hold button from the panic alarm. And this is

a new key design. It's more compact than the keys that we've had in

the past. And you can see this is a hybrid by the

blue that's there on the L on the back of the key. It also does have the key

that's integrated into the corner of the key there. And you can see there's an icon

that says push, right there on the top corner. So when you push that, the key

comes out right there. When I hit unlock, watch what happens

with the door handle here. The door handle just popped out. You see that and

then you see the Lexus emblem right there. There's a puddle lamp and that

will shine from under the door handle and down so that you don't, so that it

lights your way into the vehicle. I'm gonna hit the lock button and watch the

door handle here. If you want it to unlock it by just walking up to it

without handling the key fob, you can just push the little dimple right there.

See that? That unlocks it and then you'll pull it from underneath and that gives

you access into you LC. The trunk button is kind of hidden in the LC. It's

right in the corner of that light right there. When you pop that up, there's your

trunk. It's kind of small but you don't need a lot of things if you're driving

this. You're doing it for fun, so you maybe have a bag for the weekend. That's

where you're gonna put it. Cool little trunk. And your backup camera is really

integrated just above the Lexus emblem there. You see that? Pretty well

hidden. And when you close the trunk it's, it's unless you were really looking for

it you wouldn't really see it very well. That's a good thing. Really integrating

that stuff. This has the parking sensors because there's a little dot right there

on the bumper. That's what beeps when you get too close

to something to let you know not to hit things. Now most of the Lexus vehicles

today do not have this button inside. You see that? That's for the gas tank. And so

when you press that, it opens the gas door. And there's where you fill it up.

And you only want to use premium fuel in that. And now let's take a look at the

heart of the beast. Now the latch is going to be just kind of

to the right the Lexus emblem there. It's a 3.5 liter

V6. Total system horsepower output is 354. You can tell that it's a hybrid

obviously by the label there on the engine cover but also by the two big

orange cables that are coming from the Hybrid Synergy Drive system. You can also

see a whole lot of support that the engine ha. Engine support beams there.

There. So there's two in the back, there's two in the front. And that's what

keeps it, keeps the body rigid. This actually has more body rigidity

components in it than an LFA. Lexus is really focused on structural rigidity in

this vehicle and so many hours and a lot of money went into developing the

rigidity of this body of the LC, both hybrid and non-hybrid. You do use 0 W 20

oil in the LC 500 H. That is fully synthetic. And what's interesting is that

you use non synthetic regular oil in the LC 500.

Now if you were looking closely and paying attention you would see a little

component right there. And it's got a red exclamation point. You would see another

one there in the hinge of the hood and there's another one on the other side.

And finally there's a fourth down here. In the event that you were to get into a

front collision with a person, what would happen is the hood, those charges would

come up, the hood would raise up. I think it's like three inches in the front, one

inch in the back. Those charges would cause the hood to come up and it would

basically create a barrier. A buffer between the hood and the engine itself

in order to protect the person from hitting the engine. It would basically

create a padding so as to lessen the likelihood of injury. Pretty awesome

thought process that went into that. You see those gills right there? From those

air intakes and then you have air intakes here in the back as well. You see

those? People assume that those are used to cool the brakes and that's not

actually the case. What happens is air comes through the

intake and then that air is channeled outward and around the wheel. And then the

air that goes in that intake goes in and then out around the wheel so as to create

a more fluid airflow and to keep the tires stuck to the ground where they

need to be. Lexus calls this interior the Bespoke interior upgrade. It's kind of an

exclusive thing. And personally I'm in love with it. I love love love the way

this interior looks. I actually love the orange against the blue against the

white. And it is fantastic and you may not know this but very early on in the

very first LS 400's, Lexus offered a completely blue interior. You don't see

it anymore except now. And I think it's absolutely awesome. You can see that it's

like an Alcantara. And check out how all the lines flow and

how everything just works together. It is just fantastic. That's gonna be your seat

memory system. Set one, two, three. That's going to memorize your seat, your steering

wheel, and your mirrors. Control panel for the mirrors. Lock and unlock. And also the

windows. Even the handle is just cool. It just looks like it it comes out of the

door. And then take a look at the stitching there on the dash, how it's all

put together. The pedals. They're real sport looking pedals. Now I just love the

attention that Lexus has put into the manufacturing of this car. You can see

that there's a stalk right there on the dash. Its traction control and snow mode.

And this is what it looks like from the driver's seat. Cars not on right now

but I'll cut it on in a second. I don't know how you guys feel about

this interior color but my gosh I think it's beautiful. See the Alcantara

headliner. So you see a power button down there. It's not a start button, it's power.

And right now it's running. You can see a light right there that says ready and

that ready light indicates that it is ready to go.

The engines about to cut on here, just there it is. So now the engine is on and

all systems go. You see right now it's showing you red coming from the engine

going to the electric motor then it turns orange and goes to the battery. So

right now the engine is acting like a generator for the motor in order to

charge the battery as we drive. And it, there those two are gonna work together

in a seamless way to charge the battery to propel the vehicle forward. It's going

to use regenerative braking in order to recharge itself. You never have to charge

this vehicle. It does it itself. It's a self charging hybrid and it just cut off.

When I say cut off the engine just quit running so you see that the energy

monitor now. There's nothing there however the air is blowing cold, the

radio would cut on if I cut it on, all systems go. But right now we're just

operating on electricity. Isn't that fantastic. Now the way that we put it in

drive is going to be a little different than the traditional Lexus shifters that

you're used to. You see a little chart down here and this is actually a chart

that they've had on hybrids for a while. I used to have a CT 200h and it looked

just like this. So it's in park right now. You can see that the green P or the

blue P is lit up so that means we're in park. And so that if I want to go into

a drive gear right now, I just put my foot on the brake. I'll push it left and

when I push it left it's going to go into neutral. Then I'll pull it down

toward me and it'll go into drive. Then I'll let it go. So now we're in

Drive and then if I wanted to put it in reverse,

I'd go left and up and that's reverse. There's my backup camera and then if I

wanted to go back down into drive left down again. Now check this out. If I

wanted to go to manual I just go straight down and that allows me to go

into manual mode. And I can use my magnesium paddle shifters. Up shift on

the right down, shift on the left. You can see it says M 1 there on the dash and

that lets me know I'm in manual mode now. Here's the cool thing about manual mode.

It has a 10 speed- ish transmission. So there are, there are four regular gears

and then it has the continuous variable transmission mixed with that. So they

combine. But it doesn't have the kind of floaty fluid like CVT that have that the

hybrids of the past have had. This has a really truly shifting transmission and

you can tell I mean it shifts and it feels fantastic.

It's just an absolute pleasure to drive. So if you're concerned about it

having that funny, you know rubber band-like

CVT, nope.

And then to put it in park once I'm finished driving it, I just pressed the P

and now it's in park. On the left side of the steering wheel is going to be a

multi-directional keypad with a volume button down below. Voice commands button

to the right of that, Bluetooth and then a back arrow with a pages icon. So when I

operate this it changes the information that happens there. And I'm gonna hit

that pages icon. That's straight out of the LFA.

Now that multi-directional keypad I told you about before. I'm pressing it left. No

messages. Radar cruise, radio navigation or compass, and then driving information.

I'm pressing it down and this is all going to be fuel economy information.

Look at that range. 688 miles and then there's

going to be my energy monitor. That's the small unabbreviated or a small version

of what I was showing you before. Hybrid system, G-force indicator so cool. Gear

position. Check that out. isn't that awesome? Sway warning, tire pressure monitor

system, and then back to drive info. Then I just press the pages icon again and

you can see that it has hybrid on the you know hybrid information over on the

left side. And then on the right side is going to be temperature and fuel. Top

left, outside temperature. Top right, clock and then all there in the middle is

going to be instant information as far as fuel economy. I'm pressing that down

now. And so these are just abbreviated versions there's that G-force monitor.

Isn't that awesome? And there's Lane Departure Alert, Lane Keep Assist on the

right side of the steering wheel. I have Cruise Control, Radar Cruise Control, Lane

Departure Alert, Lane Keep Assist mode. and that's all four radio. And then I

have an arrow key. And I just pressed the outer button on the the cruise control.

And so the radar came up. Then I press the radar cruise control icon and that

allows me to adjust the distance that it's going

maintain between me and the vehicle in front of me when I'm using radar cruise.

And then that's Lane Departure Alert, Lane Keeping Assist, Steering Assist

Active turned on. Then mode is all radio information. The engine, like I said

before, the engine is actually off right now but the vehicle is running and it's

ready to go if I want to. The reason I know that is because that ready light

there in the dash it says ready. That stalk is Selectable Drive Modes and you

can see it says Sport, Sport+, Normal, Custom Comfort, and Eco. And those are all

going to be selectable on-the-fly. I can change those at any time and it's going

to change the driving dynamic of the vehicle. When I roll it up toward the

roof of the car it's gonna go into Sport and Sport Plus

mode. If I roll it back down it's going to get a normal and custom and then comfort

and ECO. Now that changes something called throttle mapping and also

whenever it's in Sport and Sport Plus it's going to change the gear shift

points. It's going to hold lower gears for longer whenever it's in Sport and Sport

Plus. It's also gonna change the steering feel so when I'm in Sport Mode, it's

going to tighten the steering and also if I'm in Eco mode it's going to take a fan

speed away from the climate system in order to appropriate that to fuel

economy. May or may not be able to see that heads-up display. It's blinking

right now because the refresh rate of my camera but it says radar ready. And what

that also has is radar cruise control information, real time speed information.

In a digital way it's going to show me my actual speed it's also going to show

the speed limit information and there's a button right there that says HUD. See

that? HUD is how I cut on the heads-up display. Now over here on the right side

is the all new generation 10 navigation system control. So this is the touch pad

that first debuted in the NX and this has really been improved, the sensitivity

of it and the haptic feedback that's inside of it. Lexus has done a lot to

make this really, really user friendly. The interface is fantastic.

And your audio controls are all right here. You can see at the top it says

radio and media, seek, tracks, tune and then the big silver button says power

and volume right there on top of the button. And then map menu and a back

arrow. And so I can press menu. I'm touching the pad now. I'm moving left and

right and when I go to destination you see what shows up. I have different

selections in destination. So now I can flick it up and go home.

Recent favorite. I can go to radio and those are just little categories within

radio, media, phone, apps, and infotainment. Info, setup, and climate.

There's your climate control system. Also notice that you're not going to see any

heated or ventilated seat buttons on the outside.

All of those are controlled from within the infotainment system here and you can

see where it says seat and steering. See that? And so that's under the climate

setting right there on the very end. So I'm going to go to seat and then you can

see here is where I can make the make changes to the temperatures of the seats,

whether it's ventilation or heat or heating the steering wheel or using

concierge. All those things. There's another button down here that I didn't

tell you about yet. And it's that button with the double arrows right there. Any

screen that has the little double arrows right there it says setting. That's when

you can press this button and it's gonna bring up kind of a quick access menu

within that screen. You go to map and you can see that beautiful map. The display

is incredible. It's very crisp. On the far right side you have a quick access menu.

And that's gonna be navigation, music, fuel economy, climate, and then that is

going to go with the screen down there. You can also split the screen by selecting

any of these.

That's pretty cool. But then I can go back to full screen there. Then in the

very left I can change the orientation of the map. I like that one. 3D and so

you've got all these different settings all along the outsides as well. Okay

everybody. That's a look at the 2018 LC 500 H, the most amazing hybrid Lexus has

ever made. Thank you so much for watching. I would love to hear what you think

about this vehicle, especially this amazing interior and if you don't like

it, you feel free to disagree with me. You can tell me that you don't like it but I

love it. Thanks so much for watching everybody. I hope this helps you enjoy

your ride. Remember to hit that subscribe button and the most important thing of

all. Have a wonderful day everybody!

Car Trunk First Aid Kit ~ Road Trip Ready ~ Noreen's Kitchen - Duration: 12:28.

Hi everyone, welcome back to my kitchen today

We are going to concentrate on a new series that I'm going to be touching upon called roadtrip ready

you may know that Rick and I just recently took a

Road trip to visit his parents in Indiana and we drove from Eastern, North Carolina

To northern Indiana and it took us about a week to go visit and come back

We did not have this first aid kit in our car at the time and shame on us

But we're gonna remedy that I'm going to show you how we construct this first aid kit

using recommendations from the Red Cross and

recommendations just from you Rick and myself because I think it's always a good idea to

Remind people how to do this. So let's go see how this first aid kit for your car all comes together

Alright so I'm gonna go over all of the items that we chose to put in our first aid kit and we're gonna be keeping

This in the trunk of our car and it's our family car

We also have a truck but the trunk of the car is probably where this is going to live now

I will start out by saying we purchased all of these items new today

We went to Walmart and we bought all these things except for a couple that I already had on hand

Which being 95 facemasks as well as these instant cold packs that I've had

for a long time in my first-aid storage

so those are things that you can you can add to or take away from and also I

Already have the rubber gloves on hand

So those are just things we had we're gonna toss in here and you may add to or take away from depending on your needs

For your particular family or your particular situation?

one other thing that I wanted to say too is the first aid kit isn't always just going to be for you if you

encounter an accident on the road if you

come upon a situation where someone requires help and

You're waiting for

First responders to show up. It's always a great idea to have something like this on hand to be able to help where you can

Always make sure that you have the knowledge to do that

So don't let go moving someone who apparently has a neck injury because you may injure them further

And if you don't have them have the knowledge and the know-how to use these things, maybe somebody else on the scene does

right, but don't leave them make sure that you are there to help them comfort them and

Tend to them in the event that you don't have the experience

but you can still provide moral support and

Comfort because we're all in this together and if we don't help each other then why are we really here?

Like it's true. Absolutely

the first thing we went looking for was a container to put our first-aid kit in now again,

Depending on what you're gonna put in yours will depend on the size that you need

I am one who decides that it's always better to have one

That's a little bit larger than you might need because you never know what you might be adding to the box

So we got one of these it was six dollars

It has a handle on the top

it's easy to grab and pull out of your trunk and

use when you need to this is important to Rick and also I thought a tarp or a

Lightweight shower curtain, this is very inexpensive

These are about three dollars if you have to pull over on the side of the road and change a tire

or you're having some problems and you need to get under your vehicle or

You need ground cover for some reason if you need to help someone who needs to lay flat on their back

This is a great thing to have on hand

Right you can use this as a poncho

Exactly. So that's gonna go right in the bottom of my kit the next thing we have our

Disposable gloves. I have twelve pair here and I'll show you how I prep them

there's six pair in each of these sandwich bags and

I'm just gonna stick those in the box, but I wanted to show you how I prepared these

I

Laid these flat in pairs

The best that I could one on top of the other and then I kind of folded them down in half with the fingers

Down and then the thumb in and then I rolled it

like this

it kind of pulls all the air out of the inside and then I just put it inside the sandwich bag and

then when the sandwich bag was full I

Pressed all the air out of it nice shielding this way when you reach into the bag you're pulling out a pair of gloves

Instead of fumbling through you know, if you just shoved 12 gloves in there

They're all gonna tangle up together this way you just reach in and you have a pair of gloves

Next thing I have is some wet ones

You can easily put in some baby wipes if you'd like a packet of baby wipes

Which is larger and we always keep those in the car. Anyway, when we travel so this is just a little extra backup

These are actually antibacterial. So in the Box they go Kleenex again. This is something we keep in our glove box

I have them in my purse

These are just an extra backup because you never know when you're gonna need them

Then I think we'll go over the the wound care now. Walmart has made it very easy

This box was five dollars and nine eight cents and it has everything you need

for two-by-twos eight four by fours four rolls of gauze

and one roll of paper tape

It also has four two by three nonstick pads and four three by four

Nonstick pads in the box that goes I have some n95 face masks. And so this is safe for biohazard

So this is good if your if you come in contact with somebody who's sick, and you don't want to get sick

This will protect you we have some tools here

and we will put those I'm going to put those tools in a little plastic box just to keep them separated I have

the Red Cross list recommends an

Oral thermometer that is not glass and not mercury tweezers are important to have your first aid kit

Clippers no, not just for toenails

Okay, and this this little kit was the Clippers two tweezers this emery board and this orange stick

they all came in one package for ninety seven cents, and I'm gonna go ahead and put this in here as well because you never

You might have to start a fire so

You never know what in what situation you're going to encounter. So just keep that in mind

That's right, you just never know so it's better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it

this is a

Zinc oxide based sunscreen which is what is being recommended because it's not full of chemicals

This is a baby sunscreen, which is good for everyone. If you get sunburn for some reason the aloe vera gel you could obviously

Well, that's a good idea

I didn't even think about that and

Molly wants me to let you guys know if you can find aloe vera gel without the green color

that's probably your best bet because it's pure aloe vera I

Got this because it was inexpensive and this is going to live in the trunk of my car. I

Got a bottle of 91% alcohol. This is good for

Sterilizing your hands those plastic gloves are not sanitary gloves. They're just plastic gloves

so when you put those on if you need to treat someone you're gonna want to rinse your

Gloved hands with this and that will sanitize them. We also got this awesome little spray bottle with hydrogen peroxide in it

This is awesome

If you have to tend to a scrape a cut or a wound, we also pick this up

But then I'm going to show you something else. This is a like a Deepwoods insect repellent

Which is a great thing to have on hand

But honestly I prefer this homemade version

This is made with all natural essential oils and witch hazel if you would like to see a video on how to make this

Molly and I will be so happy to do that for you leave a comment down below and we will

Fix up a video on how to make this awesome

Homemade essential oil all natural insect repellent that really worked and then I have a couple of ice packs

These are instant cold packs. These are the kind that you you kind of snap and then they get instantly cold

I have had these in my

First-aid storage for a very long time. They're still good. I'm gonna keep those right in there

We have a flashlight. Make sure you have fresh batteries

Check this every six months or so

and

as far as the dates on all of these products all of the medicines that we bought which are over-the-counter are all dated for the

Year, 20 or 21?

We know that they're good for about a year and you're gonna want to go in there and make sure that you take care of

Them maybe go in in six months switch them out and make sure you use them if you you can

Incorporate those into your your home supply and that way they won't go to waste

We also did get some q-tips cotton swabs. Those are great for applying topical ointments

Do not clean your ears out with these that is a big no-no and then we got some triple antibiotic cream

This is like neosporin everything you see here

I got for like eighty-eight cents or just over a dollar

Because I'm putting it in my car and I'm probably not going to use a whole lot of it

If any that's the being honest, it's being prepared. You want to make sure you have it so

Absolutely, and then have some hydrocortisone cream. This is an anti-aging

We have some allergy relief

this is like a benadryl you can use this in combination with the hydrocortisone cream again if you come in contact with

bug bites poison oak poison ivy gonna help reduce the itching or it's going to help reduce your

your

sinus distress and this is a

Generic version of zyrtec then we have some gold bond powder because you know itchy parts of your body

these also

If you have gloves that are a little too small or you're sweaty and you can't get your hands in the gloves you can dust

Your gloves on the inside with this and make putting them on a little easier

these are anti diarrheal or imodium capsules and those are important because when you're traveling

Some people are super sensitive to the changes in the water and what-have-you antacid tablets

You just never know when you're gonna need these a little bit of hand sanitizer, even though we do keep it in the car

It's always good to have it a little bit extra on hand. So we're going to just kind of

Nestle that in there. We have a variety of different

over-the-counter medications three different pain relievers

I have an aspirin and ibuprofen and an acetaminophen

So we've got like Bayer motrin and Tylenol. Those are all going in there

And then we've got stomach relief. So we've got like a generic

Pepto-bismol capsule and we have a generic gas sex capsule

and now all you have to do is

Clamp the lid on and your first-aid kit is ready to go in your car and

Whoops, don't forget your scissors

Put those right on top. So that is how you make a first aid kit for your car

I hope that you learned something. I hope that this was helpful

Living in A Car: Broke and Unemployed | Hobo Ahle - Duration: 28:02.

Okay so now that the epic battle of the wasp has concluded,

hopefully, he might come back, we're gonna do a little storytime type of thing.

So the reason for this video is because pretty soon I'm going to be going over

how I budget my money and I think I mentioned in the other video about money

that my budgeting system is... it's very strict,

it's very frugal, and there are two main experiences in my life that I have gone

through that are pretty much the main reasons as to why my budgeting is so extreme.

So yeah, I feel like I kind of want to- I want to share them with you so

that way later when I go over like my monthly budget and how I sort my money

and everything it'll kind of make a little bit more sense other than like

"whoa, like you're just way too hardcore for no reason." When I first moved- this is

the first experience by the way. So when I first moved to California... where I had

been living previously, I had a job that I'd been working out for a couple of

years, I was able to transfer my job to California, that was awesome.

But what happened after that, not so awesome. So I got over there, you know

filled out the paperwork whatever, did the whole transfer process, started

working for them, and I had been told that because it's still the same company

but because there's a new location that my paycheck was gonna be delayed.

You know how like when you start a new job you don't always get like your paycheck

right away you have to wait till like maybe the next pay period or something?

So yeah that's what I was told, that I was gonna have to go through that whole

thing. That's fine, whatever, I understand like sure. So I'm going

through that and at this point, you know, I'm renting a room in a house, I

registered to go to school, had to pay for that, you know all kinds of you know-

my bills are still happening, but it's all good right? because I've got a job.

So I wait to the following pay period and I'm like "hey, like did my check come in?"

It didn't. So I was like "okay, no big deal I can wait you know, the next time like

surely it should be here." So I wait another pay period and I'm like "hey can

I have my check?" like I didn't even- I wasn't even like "hey is it here?" I was

like "can I have it?" cuz like it should totally be here by now.

And the GM was like "yeah, no we don't have it yet." and this continued for at

least two months. I'm not gonna go into like specifics of like why or what

happened or anything cuz it was frankly it was really ridiculous. So I think you

can all assume, and it would be safe to do so in this case, that I really

didn't have a lot of money left in my bank account. Because here I am, I had

just moved to a new state which comes with its own set of costs, plus it's not

like my bills just stopped dead in their tracks. so I'm you know, still paying all

my bills to the best of my ability and I've got money going out, but I have no

money coming in. And that was honestly just like so super stressful and it got

to the point where- okay so the job that I had, it was in the downtown area. So you

know of course you have to drive to get to your job, which is money in gas,

that's pretty normal, but I also had to pay for parking. It wasn't like a whole

lot, but I did have to pay- like even if it was like a dollar, which it wasn't, it

was more than that, but it's like a dollar that you have to pay for parking

that's still money coming out when I don't have any money coming in and

that's not counting every other bill that I have and that I have to feed

myself and blahhhhh. So eventually I just got so upset with the situation like I tried

to be nice and understanding for as long as I possibly could and I think I did a

really good job of that. I actually think I lasted way longer than a lot of people would've

but there was- it finally got to the point where, I will never forget this

moment because it was so it was so I mean I ended up crying. So I signed on to

my bank account and I checked it and I had 33 cents in my bank account that was it.

I only had the one account, no savings, no nothing else,

no cash, I had already gone through all of the money that I had, like I found the

loose change where I could, I had 33 cents to my name and I was like what am

I gonna do? So the next day I was supposed to work at my job. So I went, I

ended up borrowing some cash from my roommate to pay for parking and I asked

my general manager again, I was like "is my check here yet?" and he was like "oh, no

not yet." I was pretty mad, pretty mad. And it was

really awkward because like I said like I tried to you know just be super chill

about it, but at this point like I couldn't be chill about it anymore. Like

I was like "what am I gonna do?!" I'm like freaking out and so I don't want to say

that I like yelled at him, but I basically told him as nicely as I could

at the time that I was scheduled to work like the next like three days and I was

like "yo I'm not gonna be here because I don't have any money. Like literally I

have no money you can't just have me work and not pay me for like at least

like two months you know what I'm saying like, so I don't have any money to put

gas in my car to get here, and I also don't have any money for parking. So I'm

not gonna come the next couple of days, I'm actually not gonna come until you

pay me and you are not gonna fire me because this is all your doing." I was

like "so you can't fire me for this because I'm not coming because I

literally do not have money to come here." I was so upset and he- he offered to give

me some cash from like the bar, this was at a restaurant, he offered to give me

some cash from the bar and I was like "no I don't want that. I want my money. The

money that I worked for." because I didn't want to take that money and then it get

more complicated with the fact that like then they would have to deduct what they

already gave me from my paycheck and then that would affect like how many

hours I worked and then they would use like maybe use that as an excuse to like

prolong paying me even more and so I was like "yeah, no like

I don't want that money, I don't want that cash, like I want my

money, I want my check." Honestly I don't really remember how like that

conversation ended or like if he said anything after that I just know that I

ended up leaving and I did not go back for like a week or two until he called

me and was like "hey your checks here" blah blah blah. And in that time period I

definitely had been applying to other jobs, but it was like "okay I can apply to

these other jobs, but I am literally at the point, you know, I waited too long

unfortunately, like I put my trust in this company that they would pay me

sooner rather than later and so I had waited until it got too bad because then

at that point even though I'm applying for jobs, if I get an interview I don't

have any money to go to the interview because I can't use all the gas in my

car cuz I can't- like if I have gas to get there I probably at this point don't have

gas to get back to the house so like what?" So as I said, during this time like

while this is all going on, I had registered for school and I had been

going to class and everything and so there was one day where I went to class

and you know there's a book for the class and the book came with a CD, but

you could buy the book without the CD and it was like way cheaper and you

didn't like- we asked the professor and she was like "yeah, no you don't like

need the CD, it'll be fine, you can buy the old version of the book."

And so of course, all of us broke students we bought the old version.

However, there was this one guy in our class who he had already bought the

newer version, the one with the CD, and paid for it and he was like "whatever I'm

not gonna return it, like I have it." So at his job he had access to like blank CDs

and he ended up just making copies of his CD for the entire class. You know,

super nice like nobody asked him to do that, he just took it upon himself. He's

like "I have you know free unlimited access to these blank CDs, why not?" So he

did that. So he comes- we all come to class and he's like "yeah, I made

everybody these CDs blah blah", gives them out, and the teacher is like

suggesting that we all give him a dollar. Like every

student gives him a dollar because he didn't have to do that for us and it was

like really nice and we should pay him and blah blah blah. And it's like, I could

see that perspective, like that was really nice of him, but yo homegirl right

here aka me only had 33 cents in my bank account so like I can't give this guy a

dollar like even if I wanted to. Like I don't even have a dollar for myself, I

don't even have fifty cents for myself. And and like the thing was, it wasn't

like she just kind of mentioned it, it was like "Oh yeah you guys should give

him a dollar. Okay let's go on with the lesson..." like she spent a prolonged amount

of time being like "No like you guys should take out your wallets right now,

take out a dollar, everybody give him a dollar" and she was like really like

adamant about this and it made me feel horrible like I wanted to cry right then

and there in class. I'm like holding my desk like my hands were like starting to

sweat and I'm just like "calm down, calm down" and I was like "oh man" and there was

even like- a couple of the other students they were like "What, why? Like they were-"

and he even said, the guy who brought the CDs, he's like "No like they don't have to

give me anything. Like they were free, I got them for free from my work like

nobody asked me to do this like I don't- I don't need any money like it's fine."

But she was like "No like they should give you- they should each give you at

least a dollar blah blah." And I'm just like "yo like he said it was fine like can we

drop it?" and it was just- it was just a really awkward situation. And I remember

she even said, she was like "it's just a dollar, like it's not even that big of a

deal, like you all have a dollar" and that was what really like hit me. I was like

"no dude, like it's 'just a dollar' there's no such thing as just a dollar because

right now a dollar to me is the entire world", but of course I'm not gonna just

like say that. And luckily there was somebody else in the class that was like

"No I'm not, I'm not doing that" cuz that's kinda low key what I was like

praying for I was like "please let somebody else just be so like 'no I'm not

doing it" so then it makes it okay that I don't do it.

I don't want to have to be like you know, everyone in the class gives him a dollar

and I'm like the one person that's like "yeah, no." So there were some people that

gave him money and then some people that didn't and I just ended up being one of

the people that didn't. Anyways, probably the hardest part about that whole

situation for me was the fact that like you know, I got a brain, so I get that if

you don't work, you don't make money. I get that if you're lazy, you don't make

money. And I also get that if you make X amount of money and you spend more than

that amount, then you're not gonna have any money. But again, not the case here.

And so it was just a huge reality check for me to be in a situation where I had

a job, I was working, I was technically supposed to be making enough money to

cover all of my bills and expenses, but yet I didn't have fifty cents to

scrounge together. Like it was so confusing because it was like "how can

this happen?" like I feel- I felt like I was doing all the right things as far as

like having a job and not being lazy and working, but I still found myself in this

position of not having any money and being completely broke. Now this is where

I started to do things like- and I've talked about this before, but not in this

context. Where I donated plasma because the place

I donated plasma at I think the first time you did it you got $40 if you did

it a second time within like a certain time frame you got $60 and then you

maybe got like $30 every time you did it after that and then you could do it a

certain amount of times like in a week or in a month and so I started donating

plasma so that I could make some extra money.

I started dumpster diving so that I could get free food and this is also

when, in my free time, I would take like online surveys for money.

So yeah I've talked about those things in terms of like making money or getting

your side hustle on and everything and it really is like I

tried those things not because I'm like "Oh dumpster-diving that sounds fun" it

was more of like I needed to do it because I didn't know what I was gonna

do, it was either like don't eat or go get some food where it's free. I chose to

eat and get some food where it was free. That being said though, I wasn't

the- I was already so frustrated and so sad- I- I just felt like I really didn't

have a choice to be- to be more upset, like I just didn't. So I had to look at

donating plasma and dumpster diving and the survey thing, I had to look at them

as something exciting, which I know that sounds so weird and it like- because

those things like aren't really exciting, but I saw them as like "okay like this

could be fun. It's something new, it's like a new little adventure, like trying

to figure this out, like how does this work?" you know that's kind of how those

things took place. Because I think a lot of the time when I talk about them it

kind of confuses people as to "oh you just decided to dumpster dive? like you

wanted to be so frugal that you decided that that was a good idea?"

It's like low-key it honestly came out of an act of desperation, but I didn't have the

luxury of feeling sorry for myself or feeling like it was gross because that

was kind of the only option at the time and so I turned it into something that

was fun. And now like looking back on it- and it wasn't easy, you know just to say

that, like it wasn't easy to switch over my mentality like that like I definitely

had to talk to myself a lot be like "no this is fine, you'll look back at this one day

and it'll just be kind of funny" and like now,

I look back on it and I'm like "what was my life? like what was I doing?" and again,

again, I can't say this enough, it'd be one thing if I had let myself get into

that position and again arguably I wasn't- I didn't- I wasn't the most

proactive at preventing that situation because I should have had maybe more of

a savings, I maybe should have you know looked for another job way sooner, I'm

not gonna argue and say that those things are not true because 100% they

are, but I was like really young at the time, I had no idea what I was doing.

So unfortunately, my lack of responsibility and maturity combined with the

circumstances at hand resulted in that situation. So the one thing that I really

took from that is that I never want this to happen again.

like I never want to be in this position again, I don't want to have to do things

that I might not necessarily normally do out of desperation because I'm broke.

I never want someone to be talking about a dollar and feel ashamed and sad that I

don't have a dollar and that- the fact that I never want to not have a dollar

you know, like- so that was something that was it was it- that was like over the

course of a few months and it took a really big toll on how I view money and

how I view having a savings because here's the thing - it's like the general

rule of thumb is that if you have a job, you will have some money. Will it be

enough money? I don't know that again, that is a

different topic, but you will have some money. But yet finding myself in a

position where I felt like I was doing everything that I possibly could and

nothing.... nothing! I still- it was like I might as well have not been working at

all and just enjoyed my free time. Now I am definitely not trying to you know, I'm

talking about my personal situation. I'm not trying to talk bad about people who

are in different situations, who are unintentionally homeless, or who are

unintentionally living in their car because of really bad circumstances, I'm

not saying anything about anybody else, I'm not judging anybody else, honestly

that's all a completely different thing like I am just talking about me and my

experience in that regard. So I get it, it might sound maybe entitled,

maybe a little dramatic about how I was so sad and upset and I know I should be

lucky that I even had 33 cents, I should be lucky that I was even able to have a

job, I should be- I should feel really fortunate that I was able to transfer my

job. And it's like, yes! I did feel all of those things. However, finding myself in

that position, where I was doing things like donating plasma so that I could

buy groceries.... yeah I don't really care how you look at it it wasn't any-

it wasn't where I wanted to be like it just it wasn't and it was really hard to go

through, but it was my reality. Okay so I think that I have gone on and on about

that first experience enough. I- I just you know, yeah okay we're gonna- there's a

lot of emotion there if you can't tell. So all of that in experience number

one I was paying rent living in a house. Everything eventually

got situated, I got my paycheck, I got all the money that I was owed, I ended up

immediately leaving that job, getting another one, it was all good. So life goes

on like that for a while, I catch up, I am still like I'm working two jobs, I'm

going to school, I'm making enough money to keep myself out of debt as far as

like school and everything, I'm making enough money to pay rent, to pay my bills,

but there's really not a whole lot of extra money there. And so you think I

would have learned my lesson the first time like even if I can save like a

dollar, low key you should probably be saving that dollar

BUT.... did I? did I learn? No, no I didn't. So that brings us to situation

numero dos. So I had moved into my car at this point, this is I don't know

how many jobs later and I don't know how much time passed between two experiences,

I could probably figure it out but it doesn't matter really it's yeah it's

irrelevant. So at this point I had one job

a main job that's like a nine-to-five, and the company that I was working for was

going to go out of business. So that meant when they

did we all ended up on unemployment, which I'm super grateful for because it

wasn't like "oh crap what're we gonna do" like at least I had some sort of income still.

However.... this is the time frame that I refer to when I'm talking about

how I lived in my car making only $400 a month. It was because I was on

unemployment. So for sure I think it goes without saying that that situation is

not ideal and I kind of saw it as "you know what? At least, silver lining of all of

this, I live in a car." Because if I had ended up on unemployment while still

living in a house and paying rent... that- that just wasn't gonna work.

But because I was living in my car I was like "you know what? it's gonna be okay,

like this is really hard but it's gonna be okay." kind of had to talk that idea

into myself- into believing it like ya had to make myself believe that. You know

all in all in the end it totally was okay, but living on four

hundred dollars a month, that's how much my unemployment was, is not a lot

especially considering at the time I was still making payments on my car and this

doesn't count like my insurance or anything else just my car was $300 a

month by itself. So that left me $100 a month to you know.....

survive. So during this phase of my life there was definitely a lot of unhealthy

habits going on such as I would probably eat like one meal a day, if that. There

are some days where I just like didn't eat or I would like buy a loaf of bread

and I would just eat bread like when I got hungry. Or one thing that I really kind of

survived off of was jack in the box tacos, which are not the best for you, I mean I still

think they're delicious but... I would buy jack in the-box tacos and I would kind of

like I would buy one and then that's what I would eat for the whole day. So

yeah really bad, I know, I swear I don't- it's not because I was trying to lose

weight or anything like that it was like "yo I don't got any money and I got

things to pay for so uhhh well, that's gonna happen." And like luckily even though I

was on unemployment I was still in school so I didn't need a gym membership

to shower I could just shower where I went to school so that was free. So I was

still able to- I think if I hadn't had showers at that point I might have just

like melted into the earth and disappeared because I don't think I

could have- showers like saved my life yo like for real because you know keeping

yourself clean and feeling refreshed is I think it's everything when it comes to

like this lifestyle because for me when I'm dirty like sweaty and gross and

haven't showered in five days I definitely don't feel my best. So if I

don't feel my best physically, and then I've already got a lot going on in here

that I don't feel my best mentally either I don't think I would have

survived. So I'm pretty certain that showers, they did a lot for me in those days.

And of course even though I was on unemployment I was still applying for

jobs trying to get all that worked out, but I did end up going like what was it

like I think like five months on unemployment where I was making $400 a

month and my car payment was $300 a month so I lived on $100 for five months

it- it wasn't enough like it- I managed to do it, I probably didn't do

the best job that I could because it was just such a new situation for me because

even though I had always kind of lived paycheck to paycheck again it was like I

was coming from a place where I always had just enough money to figure things

out, but then here I am in a situation where there's not just enough money.

So what do you do when there's not enough money? You still gotta work with what you

got, you know the principles of what to do don't change, but you're definitely

gonna have to make some adjustments and and just figure it out and it's it's not

easy like oh I have so much empathy for anyone who has ever been in situations

similar to this or worse like- I- oh man it pains me to know that people go

through things like this and you know my situations weren't even that bad like at

least I had $100 a month that I was being given you know what I'm saying so it's

like I was still pretty lucky and I was well aware of that. And what that

situation, the second experience of being on unemployment really taught me was how

to live on something as simple as a $100 a month. So realistically,

I would never ever ever ever recommend anyone try that. I would never ever ever

you know decide that I wanted to do that again. No because it wasn't- it just

wasn't enough, but I do think that it really really helped me in terms of

identifying like things that are 'absolute necessities' like you just

cannot function without like and 'necessities' like yeah you really do kind

of need them, but like if you push it really push it probably could probably

go without it at least for a little bit. So as much as I hated going through the

experience.... made it out alive and it did teach me a lot of like categorizing

those things and learning how to live and live functionally with very very

little money. And because of the fact that I saw what I was capable of put in

these two situations and and what they felt like, especially felt like, because

these were two very very distinct phases in my life that I will never ever forget

as much as I would like to because they were so emotional like... I can't even put

into words how difficult they were and I can only pray that I don't ever go

through anything like that again, but at the end of the day I am grateful that

they happened because they taught me so much. They made me understand- like I had

always understood the value of the dollar, but- and I always knew that it was

a good idea to have a savings, and I always knew that if you really needed to

be frugal you could. But to put all of it in such a dramatic real-life scenario

However, because I know what it's like to live on $100, because I know

what it's like to feel like I'm doing everything right and to have 33 cents....

you best believe that I've got a lot of backup plans okay? yeah, lots and lots of

backup plans. I know that I kind of talked in circles a lot and I'm sorry

but I had never really talked about those things before so it was very

unfiltered and just kind of like scatterbrained

my bad, but I really wanted to just talk about these, get them off my chest,

share them with y'all. So that way when you guys see my budgeting plan you're

not gonna be looking at it like "yo what is wrong with you?!" like bro I've been

real poor before that's what's wrong with me and I think it was to my benefit

because I probably wouldn't have learned these things had I not gone through

those experiences and I wouldn't have created such a you know what I would

consider to be a very good and efficient budget plan that I am really really

happy with. So okay cool hope you guys enjoyed this video see you next time

2019 Acura RDX: First Drive — Cars.com - Duration: 3:48.

with its third-generation redesign of the RDX acura pushed the envelope in a

lot of areas for its compact luxury SUV and there are a lot of welcome

advancements but one area acura went too far let's break it down in two separate

Auto Show videos we cover exterior styling and some interior aspects of the

redesigned RDX be sure to check those out now we've had a chance though to get

behind the wheel now last year's big v6 has gone in its place is a 2-liter

turbocharged forest owner you might recognize from parent company Honda in

the Accord and the Civic Type R in the RDX it makes 272 horsepower 280

pound-feet of torque pairs with a new 10 speed automatic transmission as such

there's a little bit of lag off the line but then quick bursts of power thanks to

nice short gearing the 10 speed automatic is very decisive there's very

little gear hunting it just gets you in the right here at the right time overall

a very nice refined drivetrain now super handling all-wheel drive that was in the

first generation RDX it skipped out the second generation its back and there's

an immediate effect you can really kind of slide the tail around work the car

through a lot of sweeping curves a lot of fun to drive

nice solid precise steering as well you pay for that a little bit in terms of

ride quality but a lot of that has to do with this particular car that we have

right now this is the a spec it's got the big wheels the 20 inches and it

doesn't have the adaptive shock absorbers which are optional available

on the top trim level of the RDX as such a little bit busy perhaps too firm for

an SUV shoppers but you know if you've got the a spec that kind of knew what

you were getting into that's the sporty version of this vehicle we'd like to

drive those adaptive shocks or the smaller wheels the 19 maybe those would

improve things now the drivetrain wasn't the only thing

that really was a welcome improvement in pushing the envelope for her Acura this

interior really does kind of fall together nicely this is off of accurate

rescission cockpit concept from the Auto Show a few years back just a lot of kind

of wraparound materials here there's a big center console might annoy taller

drivers who don't find enough room here but I actually do have enough room to

spread out I'm about six feet tall here and it doesn't really imp in on utility

either there's a lot of space to store things around the cupholders a nice big

area here behind underneath the armrest and more space here underneath where the

gear selector is a little bit of excessive real estate taken up by that

gear selector in this drive mode selector but otherwise very interesting

and nice materials here too there's nice overlapping

stitching here for what looks like leather actually is vinyl Acura had me

fooled now where did accurate fall short in trying to push too far it's with this

multimedia setup we previewed this at the Auto Show you can kind of go into a

deeper dive there it's called the true touchpad interface and it's just kind of

a true aggravation here's what you do you can basically just really point to

things instead of having to kind of use a cursor like you'd have to do in

certain other competitors systems to kind of use this as a touch pad for what

you're seeing up here on the standard 10.2 inch screen but we don't like this

in other cars that have it from Lexus for example they do something like this

really similar inaccurate a little bit better maybe but still we just want a

regular touch screen now that fussy multimedia system might be a

deal-breaker for some shoppers but there's plenty to like about this

redesign RDX and Acura did a lot to push the brand into a new direction which it

really needs in a very competitive segment with excellent alternatives like

the new Volvo xc60 stay tuned the RDX goes on sale in June of 2018 you can

find plenty more information on it on cars calm

you
