In today's video, we're going to talk about the way you can protect your door from
any credit card or plastic card attack.

So, before we start, I just want to introduce really quick who I am.

So, without further adieu, let me talk about what is all about this using a plastic card
to unlocking doors.
It sounds really scary, right?
Using plastic cards to unlocking a door?!
Yes!
Yes, that's all you really need to pull this off.
You need a plastic card from your wallet, you slide it in on the gap between the door
and the latch—which is the bottom lock of course, not the deadbolt.
So the bottom lock can be a door knob or a door handle.
Now, both of them are using the same type of mechanism which is a latch.
Now, all you really need to do is slide it in, play with it a little bit, manipulating
the latch, you slide it deep enough and in the right position, and it will unlock your
door.
There are many videos here on YouTube showing how to do this.
But in my video today, I'm really focusing on one very important thing—how you can
prevent this to unlocking your door.
And everybody can do it!
All you really need to pull this off, you need a power drill, a Phillips driver, a cutting
carbide grinder.
And that's pretty much it!

your lazy ass to a local hardware store next to where you live, I also share in a link

So, that's pretty much it!
Now, let me show you from close-up what exactly I'm talking about and how you really can
do it.
And I'm going to show you, of course, how to fix your door frame to align with the latch
in a way that it will prevent using a credit or plastic card.
Alright, let's move!
Okay, guys, so let me show you from close-up what it looks like.
So this is our latch.
Now, most door handle, door knobs have the same type of latches.
Now, nowadays, manufacturers, using any locks from grade 3 to grade 1 security level, they
have a bottom pin, an actual side pin right here.
Now, this pin is all about what I'm talking about, guys.
It's [invent] to protect the door using a sliding credit card or plastic card to open
the door.
As long as this is installed correct with your bottom strike plate, it will prevent
someone using a plastic card to pull off and opening your door.
So, if it's installed correct just like this—you don't really see the bottom pin,
the side pin—no one can really unlock the door using a plastic card.
It will prevent it.
It's actually stopping the mechanism latch to slide open.
Now, if it's not, as most cases are, it will look something like this.
And what happen, you just use a credit card, you slide it in right here, and it will unlock
the door just like this.
It will allow you to unlock the door and get it open.
So, let me show you from the actual door side how you can change the position of the strike
plate and how you can prevent someone using a credit card to unlock your door.
Very simple, let's move!
Okay, guys, here's our bottom latch.
It's kind of hard to see.
But it is installed non correct.
So, say I'm unlocking the door, and I'm shutting it.
The security pin does engage into the hole of the strike.
And that's what we're going to fix right now.
So, what we're going to do now, we're going to actually move the bottom strike plate.
We're going to move it further in.
So, we're going to remove the two screws.
Now if you do need to chisel it a little bit if you have the tool, that's great.
You can just do it with a hammer and chisel.
And just put the two screws in.
Now, for the sake of the video, I like to put the screws a little bit to the side just
like this.
This way…
…point right there when you're installing the screws off-side and not straight.
Alright!
That's good enough.
Now, when the door is going to be locked, you […] the security pin is not engaging
into the whole.
And that will prevent someone using a credit card or a plastic card to open it.
And also, that's why I actually installed the screws off-side a little bit because this
is another point right there where the card will be stuck.
So it won't let you use the actual plastic card to unlock the latch.
That's another tricky thing that I do.
And I also like to use longer screws.
And that's pretty much it, guys.
That's all you really need to do.
Now, make sure that the door does lock properly.
And the bottom handle and the top deadbolt works the same way and locks properly as well.
Now, if it's not, if the deadbolt, for some reason, are not locking properly, you can
use the carbide grinder (as what I explained as one of the tools that you will need) just
to shave the metal, the strike plate metal, for the deadbolt lock.
That way, it will lock properly.
But that's pretty much it.
Don't shave it too much because then it's another security issue.
But yeah, if you do need to make some adjustment, using this tool to pull it off.
And that's pretty much it, guys.
