Here Is The Best Holiday Ever! How to Host a Passover Seder - Course for Christians - Duration: 5:47.

Hey it's Brian from Messiah Rocks! As a Christian, my favorite holiday by FAR would have to be …

Here's the thing – the very core of our faith is salvation, and

the Passover is all about God's salvation. If you think about the Exodus,

that's what it's all about. The people are in bondage, they're in slavery, and

they cry out to God, and before they even do, God already has a plan to get them

out of that situation. And through great, powerful signs and wonders he brings

them out. I've been leading people through Passover Seder now for over 20

years and each year it only gets more powerful and more joyful, and I just want

to share that with as many people as I possibly can.

So I put together this course, Powerful Passover – Super Seder, so that you'd be

able to run your own Seder right in your own home. This is for people that want to

have a few friends around, some family, and share this really really moving and

beautiful experience right there at home. Or if you just want to have it for your

Bible study group, this is gonna be something that will really take you deep

into the Exodus story and Jesus is at the center of that story. If you don't

think so, you really need to take a look at this

course. And for pastors who just want to have a Passover Seder for their church

but don't know where to start, we've got you covered. Everything you'll

need from front to back is included in this course. The information in this

course will be divided into four broad categories: the Feast, the Facts, the Food,

and the fun. The feast – we'll look at the feast itself. We'll look at the

scriptures find out where God placed this in this system of biblical feasts

and we'll take a look at exactly what he's trying to do there. And with the

Passover, there's more than one feast that's part of it. There's three of

them wrapped all together and we'll take a look at that, including some very

interesting original language gems. The Facts – what exactly happens at a Seder

meal? There are 15 individual steps that take us through the Seder in order and

that's what the word seder means, order. Everyone receives a little booklet

called a Haggadah, and that booklet takes you through each of the 15

individual steps and leads you through the Seder. You will receive a

downloadable version of my own Haggadah, which you can then use to print copies

for all of your guests. The Food – it is a meal after all, but there are also

certain ritual foods we'll cover. Maybe you have even been to a seder and were

given something like this. Does that look like a celebration to you? I think we can

do better than that! And the Fun!

We have a lot of fun at the Seder, I mean it's a celebration! We need to be in

a celebratory, in a joyful mood so we do have a lot of fun. But please understand

that the things that we're discussing and the things that we're commemorating

during the Seder are also, they also include some very tragic things and we

give due weight to those things, especially at times like communion. I

mean this is a very very serious time and so we spend a lot of time going over

that and finding out exactly what is going on there.

You know, communion just besides the fact that it takes place during the Passover

Seder, and that's what the Last Supper is, besides just its setting which is really

rich in itself, there was an entirely separate first century tradition, that's

what Jesus is is using and putting it into the Seder and that's what communion

is. And if you don't know what that is we really need to talk!

That's deep! And we will also go over things such as the closing up of the Red

Sea over the Egyptians. You know, you might think that the big miracle of the

Red Sea was the parting of the sea. If that's what you think the big miracle

was, again we need to talk! There's a much more powerful message in what God was

doing there and it's not the opening of the sea it's the closing of it and

we'll take a look at that. And we'll also discuss the condition of Pharaoh's heart.

I know it's a stumbling block for a lot of people that it doesn't seem like he has

a chance. You know he wants to do the right thing and God makes his heart go

the wrong way. Well, that's a stumbling block for some people and we're gonna

look at that seriously. And the firstborn sons being killed – I

mean this is, this is serious business so yes, we have a lot of fun at the Seder

but not without making sure that we understand what the people were being

saved from, and what God had to do to accomplish that. There's a Jewish saying

that covers all of the feasts and that is simply, they attacked us, God saved us –

let's eat! No seriously where's the food?!

The First Car: Hundreds of Years in the Making | WheelHouse | Donut Media - Duration: 6:48.

(Steam engine noises)

Lots of people tried for hundreds of years

to create self propelled transportation; with each successive attempt building on top of

the previous incarnation. Who invented the first car?... Let's find

out. This is WheelHouse.

Ferdinand Verbiest was Jesuit missionary hanging out in Peking with the Kangxi Emperor. When

He wasn't doing astronomy or working on the calendar, he was tinkering in the garage,

inventing gadgets to entertain the emperor. He was basically the first Car Boy. His coolest

invention, by far, was a two foot long cart with a primitive steam engine on board. I

guess technically that made him a CART boy.

(Office noises, sighs)

Dude, CART BOY, that was a good one!

It was basically a plank with five wheels and a boiler that blew steam on a little turbine

that turned the wheels and made the car move. Ferdinand had technically invented an automobile.

BUT it was pretty small so you couldn't ride it. So it wasn't really a car.

Early steam engines came to prominence in the 1700s, and it was only a matter of time

before someone built a full size machine that followed the principles of Verbeist's toy

cart. French inventor Nicolas Cugnot did just that in 1769, with his 'Fardier a Vapeur'.

And if I mispronounced that, you can sue me because I took Spanish in high school. Shouts

out uhh, wha..what was his name? Mr. Massie, Senor Massie. Atascadero High School, whats

up. Follow your dreams kids.

The gargantuan size came at a cost, the Steam Wagon only had a top speed of 2 and half miles

an hour. The French army, which was funding the project, was kinda disappointed with the

performance. The Fardier was cancelled before it make it to production, but people have

built working recreations of Cugnot's design and they're pretty sweet. The front mounted

steam engine looks weird as hell but there's a visible progression from Ferdinand Verbiest's

toy cart to Cugnot's machine almost 100 years later. But like the toy cart, the Fardier

was not a car either.

Steam Technology progressed through the 19th century. In 1801, Richard Trevithick unveiled

his "Puffing Devil", which wasn't his bong, but a steam locomotive for the road.

Trevithick was basically illiterate for his entire life but loved working on machines.

The puffing devil was powered by a "strong steam" engine similar to those used on river

boats. This updated design made the engine much smaller but more prone to boiler explosions.

The Devil's first test run was on Christmas eve when it successfully climbed up a gentle

slope in Cornwall.

A few days later, Trevithick took the Devil out for another drive. But for whatever

reason forgot to put out the fire in the boiler and left the Devil just sitting outside. With

all this heat and steam building up with nowhere left to go, pressure in the tank skyrocketed.

And then...pop. Y'know sometimes you smoke the Puffing Devil, sometimes it smokes you.

All these inventions so far are kind of cars but each one is missing an element that keeps

them from being considered the "first" car by historians. Ferdinand Verbiest's

toy cart thing laid the groundwork for what the car would be but it was just a toy. Nicolas

Cugnot realized the practical application of self propelled travel but was never able

to mass produce it. And the puffing devil kinda made people think twice about steam

engines- because it exploded.

So what would make the car..a car? Well it has to be big enough to hold passengers, practical

enough that it can replace the hose and wagon, and it has to be reliable enough that it won't blow up.

Is there any early invention that can do all three? Yeah, a few.

In 1858 Jean Joseph Etienne Lenoir invented the first commercially successful internal

combustion engine. Being an inventor like the rest of these guys, He decided to attach

his engine to a cart. Boom. Car. The Three Wheeled Lenoir Hippomobile, that's what

he called it, made the 11 mile journey from Paris to Joinville le Pont in three hours,

not bad.

But because the Hippomobile was basically just an existing horse cart with an engine

attached , historians don't credit Lenoir with the invention of the automobile. That

honor goes to a guy named Karl Benz.

German Patent Number 37435 was awarded to Karl Benz and his motorized carriage on January

29th, 1886. The Benz Patent Motorwagen was powered by a four stroke motor that Karl had

designed himself. The 943cc motor produced ⅔ of a horsepower at 230 rpm.

If the Benz kinda looks like a tricycle, that's because Benz was a huge cyclist and even ran

a repair shop before working on the Motorwagen. The tricycle layout made more sense to Benz

over a four wheel carriage because it was less complicated, lighter and easier to steer

Benz worked on his design for years but was hesitant to go into production. Would people

even want the Motorwagen? And How would people know that it was better than a horse? Fortunately

for Karl, his wife would take matters into her own hands.

In the Summer of 1888, Bertha Benz borrowed the Motorwagen when Karl wasn't looking.

She and her two sons planned to make the 50 mile journey from Mannheim to her mom's

house in Pforziem before sundown. She left a note on the table and left at dawn. Bertha

had to adjust the carburetor and make other repairs herself, and fueled up at pharmacies

as she went. She and the boys made it to Grandma's house as the sun went down.

The trip was the one of world's first automotive marketing stunts, and showed people that the

future would be driven by the automobile. Bertha's drive was monumental in pushing

both the Benz Motorwagen and the idea of the automobile as we know it onto the world stage.

Without a doubt, the Benz Motorwagen is the first "real" car; both the engine and

chassis were developed to function as one unit. Daimler, Mercedes-Benz's parent company,

proudly proclaims on their website that they invented the automobile. But the car didn't

appear overnight.

Verbiest, Cugnot, Trevithick, Lenoir and lots of other guys, they didn't create the first

"real" car; but their contributions were instrumental in helping Benz make his.

And He wouldn't have succeeded without them.

Nailed it.

Alright.

HERE'S HOW YOU CAN STOP ABSORBING 'NEGATIVE' ENERGY FROM OTHER - Duration: 11:23.

HERES HOW YOU CAN STOP ABSORBING NEGATIVE ENERGY FROM OTHER PEOPLE

BY KALEE BROWN

Have you ever cried for no reason or expressed emotions for inexplicable reasons? Well, this

could mean one of two things: There actually is a reason and youre just avoiding it,

or youre sensitive to energy around you.

For example, I attended a funeral last week and immediately after walking into the room,

I felt a dense and heavy energy. For a few days afterwards, I did not feel like myself.

Yes, many may attribute this to mourning, but to me death represents more of a celebration

than a goodbye.

I realized that at least some of the emotions I was feeling didnt seem like my own because

they werent; I hadnt energetically cleansed myself since the ceremony, so I was still

extremely susceptible to other peoples energies.

Learning to Accept and Love Negativity Before you go blaming all of your emotions

on being sensitive to negative energy, lets clarify what exactly negative

energy is.

There seems to be a genuine misunderstanding surrounding negativity within the New Age

Spirituality movement. When discussing negativity, I often hear people say negativity is non-existent

or all that exists is the Light. Yes, the fact that we come from and are one with

Source (or Love or Light) is a universal truth, but that doesnt mean we may not perceive

and believe in negativity, which makes it something we feel.

We are all souls, individual fragments of Source manifested, and were here expressing

our human experiences. Part of that experience is living in a dualistic world at this time,

and in this dimension, duality still exists: light and darkness, love and fear, negative

and positive, and so on.

So, if a perceivably negative emotion comes up after you suffer a trauma, to brush it

off by saying you dont exist may lead to you suppressing that emotion. The

point isnt to run away from darkness, but rather to face it head on and accept it. After

all, could we fully appreciate the good times without the challenging ones?

I say perceivably negative because, when it all comes down to it, its all about

your perception. What makes something negative negative in the first place? Our minds and

particularly our egos develop these programs that can cause us distinguish right from wrong

and positive from negative while in this world. However, would we still view things as negative

if those programs werent there?

There isnt a simple answer to this question, but Ill try to provide you with an example.

Earlier this week, my door broke as I was leaving my house to meet a friend. My mind

immediately started to elicit a stressful response to what had happened, so I originally

perceived the situation as an issue or as a negative situation. However, I decided

to remove myself from the drama my mind was quickly creating, silence it, and follow my

gut instead.

My door breaking actually ended up being a wonderful opportunity for me to fix it myself!

Im a young woman without much experience using tools, so I felt extremely empowered

after I fixed the door myself using the random tools I had. The situation that many would

perceive as a negative, to me, was actually a positive experience!

You can do this with anything in life. For example, if youre super late for a meeting,

perhaps you avoided a car accident as a result. If you get fired from a job, perhaps you wouldve

been miserable if you had stayed. The moment you decide to change your perception and look

at things for what they are, the more youll understand that everything is in perfect order

and somehow serving you.

How Do We Define and Recognize Negativity? So, how do we define negativity? Well, its

important to acknowledge that what we define as negativity has a lower vibration than what

we define as positivity. In simpler terms, imagine a time where you could feel something

as being right or wrong. Im not referring to the programs stored in your

mind and societal constructs, but rather your intuitive feelings. For example, you may have

had this sinking feeling in your gut when something felt wrong. Thats your

intuition picking up on vibrational frequencies! And there is science to back that sort of

feeling.

Everything has its own vibration and frequency. When you really think about it, everything

is made up of energy, so this makes perfect sense. For example, when it comes to various

emotions, these can raise or decrease your own vibration, causing us to emit a different

field. The HearthMath Institute has actually scientifically proven this, as their research

shows that positive emotions create physiological benefits in your body and negative emotions

have the opposite effect.

Much of HeartMaths research is actually on the heart. Their findings show that the

electromagnetic field emitted from the human heart can be measured and that by simply shifting

our emotions, we can alter the information thats coded into these heart-radiated magnetic

fields. The heart has a system of neurons with both short term and long term memories

and so, when heart signals are sent to the brain, they affect our emotional experiences.

In fact, HeartMath has shown that by thinking positive thoughts, you can boost your immune

system. Read more about this in this CE article.

If youre interested in learning more about vibrations, frequencies, and the law of attraction,

Id suggest listening to Kevin Trudeaus audio CDs. His work is fairly controversial;

however, I find a lot of truth within it.

How to Rid Yourself of Negative Energy If youve noticed youre susceptible to

negative energy or feel you need to block yourself from it, here are a few things you

can do:

Energetic Shielding

Im a huge fan of this, but you need to be careful about your intention behind it.

All you need to do is envision a white light (or specific colour that resonates with you)

around you thats shielding your body from any outer energies. For example, Ive

done this at funerals, while driving, or in other settings people perceive to be full

of negative energy or danger.

However, if youre energetically shielding yourself from the negativity youre perceiving

to be coming from another individual, this may be a good opportunity to look inwards.

Why is it that youre perceiving this individual as being so negative? Since were all, at

least to some degree, reflections of each other, if that individual has a trait youre

perceiving to be extremely negative, perhaps that trait is one that you hold within you

as well.

Its also important to note that energetic shields force you to spend a lot of energy

holding them up. If youre consciously thinking about creating and maintaining that field,

then you may not be fully present. There isnt necessarily anything wrong with energetic

shielding it is a beautiful practice with many excellent uses but you should consider

the intent behind your shield as well as weigh your other options before using one.

Cord Cutting

Emotional cords are bound to you, often from specific events, traumas, and/or from other

people transferring energy to you, and they can be considered as positive or negative.

For example, positive cords can be found when youre in love, as your partner wishes the

best for you. Negative cords could be created from your own self-judgement or from someone

pushing negative emotions onto you. Whether the cords you have are positive or negative,

it is ideal to have no emotional cords whatsoever. Read more in this CE article here.

Sound Reiki Healer Catherine Varga shared this simple method with me to release energetic/emotional

cords. Whenever you feel an energetic tie or emotional cord has been established, you

can release it by physically pulling it out of you. Once you notice its presence on one

of your chakras, you can use your hands to pull the cord out of you, as if youre pulling

a rope, and then visualize it leaving your body.

Washing Your Hands or Body

Much like your physical body, your energetic body needs to maintain good hygiene, too.

Water is one of our greatest assets because it can cleanse both our physical and energetic

bodies. An excellent way to rid yourself of other peoples energy is to actually physically

wash your hands or whole body. As you feel the water flowing down on you, envision all

of the negative energy washing off too.

Sage or Smudging

Not only does sage smell awesome, but it can also cleanse your home and your body of negative

energy. Smudging with sage has been used for many years to cleanse peoples energetic

auras and rid outer environments of negative energy.

Final Thoughts Its important to note that negativity can

always serve you in some way. Your soul chose to incarnate onto this planet and experience

duality, so how can negativity be a bad thing? Dont run from darkness; treat

it as a learning opportunity. By learning about and accepting the darker parts of ourselves

and the universe, we can begin to fully appreciate the light.

BREAKING: Hawaiian Island On HIGH ALERT… Here's What We Know - Duration: 2:22.

BREAKING: Hawaiian Island On HIGH ALERT…

Here's What We Know A noticeable increase in violent crime in

the Waikiki neighborhood of Honolulu has the U.S. military considering a plan to keep military

service members away from the area.

On Thursday, a 25-year-old service member was stabbed in the early morning hours, after

parting ways with a friend, and in October two service members were stabbed — with

one of them dying from his wounds, the Honolulu Star-Advertiser reported.

"Between the hours of midnight and 6 a.m., it's a dangerous time to be walking alone

in Waikiki," Jessica Lani Rich, president and CEO of the Visitor Aloha Society of Hawaii,

told the newspaper.

"We need to make Waikiki safe at all hours."

Fox News has more:

The latest assault coincides with a dramatic increase in Waikiki's overall crime, the

newspaper reported, noting that last week local leaders — including law enforcement,

military leaders and judiciary personnel – met to discuss ways to improve public safety.

"We'll look for the low-hanging fruit – things that we can implement immediately,"

Mufi Hannemann, president of the Honolulu Lodging and Tourism Association, told the

paper.

In addition, the Armed Forces Disciplinary Control Board has weighed banning military

officers from patronizing parts of Waikiki.

"An Armed Forces Disciplinary Control Board issued a warning about Waikiki in December

and will discuss Waikiki crime during its next meeting in a few weeks."According to

a military advisory, 1,000 arrests in Waikiki over 180 days involved violent crimes, drugs,

and alcohol, the Star-Advertiser reported. The Honolulu Police Department said that between

December and January they saw increases in both assaults and in calls for service.

The conference of officials plans to meet again Wednesday to discuss possible steps

against crime.

Hawaii has turned into a liberal shit-hole.

I lived there for a year building houses back in 2002 and I will never go back.

A Conversation about the Genesis of the Martin Luther King Monument - Duration: 5:57.

- Roger, this continues to be

my favorite place on campus

here in this hollow in front of the chapel.

I remember, when we first walked here,

you talked about the vision you had

for this monument.

I didn't even know then, at the time,

the significance that Martin Luther King has

to our campus.

- This monument was established to commemorate

the fact that on November 29th, 1964,

Martin Luther King spoke in what was then called

the Fieldhouse, just over our shoulder here.

But what so often gets forgotten is that

what King was doing at any given moment

was what I like to call the daily work of the movement.

- And it was Dr. King who gave voice

to that whole sense of being equal in the society

and getting yourself into schools

and becoming educated because, as the community said,

once you are educated,

no one could take that away from you.

- What we did in laying out this monument

was to think, first and foremost,

about the kinds of environments where King spoke

and how he delivered his message.

King was, as we well know, a Baptist minister.

His pulpit, his rostrum, his point of reference,

and his point of proclamation

was always the pulpit,

so we wanted to center the monument on a form

that would reference the idea of a pulpit

in this preaching, religious, Christian tradition,

but it doesn't stop with the pulpit.

The pulpit is here,

and notably, behind the pulpit are three bronze chairs,

one with a coat and a Bible,

referencing King's own coat and Bible,

as though King himself has just stood up

after being introduced to the group in our Fieldhouse.

There are two other chairs,

and these other chairs are there

because, when one thinks about and

remembers when King spoke anywhere,

he was never anywhere by himself.

- One of the things that is most interesting to me

is that Dr. King made himself available

to the whole community.

He was, as you say, never alone on the stage.

He was always buttressed by

people from different political persuasions,

people from different social persuasions,

and, certainly, people from different religious persuasions,

so he's never just addressing black people.

He was trying to connect with everybody

in the community

because it was an American community

that he wanted to inspire

to go on that long, long journey

that we are still accomplishing.

- [Eric Spina] I think the selection of the quotations

is brilliant because this is a monument

not only of those times and of that man

- [Roger Crum] but into the future

- [Eric Spina] for today

- [Roger Crum] for today and into the future.

- [Eric Spina] for today, especially as we think about

the challenges we are facing as a country,

this is a monument that people very much can

be in and be with and walk through

and interpret in ways, reading the quotations

that are important for them that can be inspiring,

again, aspirational for the university,

but also for inspirational for individuals.

- It's a monument that exists

in the midst of university life and traffic,

but it was also designed

so that it has a backdrop with the

Immaculate Conception Chapel

of the University of Dayton

in the interest of bringing out

the ecumenical and broadly religious underpinnings

of the civil rights movement,

but it doesn't stop there.

The monument is positioned

on a very general east-west axis.

You're looking to the west

and to the historic neighborhoods

of the African-American population here in town

who were very, very instrumental,

working with the Marianist brothers in the university

in 1964 in making arrangements

for Dr. King to speak in the fieldhouse.

- As the president of the university,

I'm grateful for the work that you

and so many other faculty of color did

over a long time to get us to a place

where we can have the aspirations

that we do now for the institution,

and, Roger, I think about you

and your desire to have a monument here to Dr. King,

and, especially, just the way it has been manifested here

as an integral part of our campus.

Really, thanks to you and your colleagues

for working hard to make this vision come to reality.

I think it really symbolizes who we are

as a Catholic, Marianist university.

The Mary Poppins Returns Trailer Is Here and Emily Blunt Is Already Amazing

Its a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious kind of day! Disney has finally released the first trailer for Mary Poppins Returns at the 2018 Oscars. The first teaser trailer for the live-action film that was first screened during the D23 Expo in mid-July.

The footage gives us our first detailed look at Emily Blunt in the title role. Look at her and that kite! Mary Poppins Returns picks up 25 years after the events of the first film, during Londons mid-1930s economic slump.

However, in this sequel, Michael is all grown up with a wife and three children who are all living in his parents old house on No. 17 Cherry Tree Lane.

It is wonderful to see you, Michael Banks (Ben Whishaw) says to her. Yes, it is, isnt it? Blunts Mary Poppins says.

Director Rob Marshall said they wanted to tell a new story in a whole other generation with Michael and Jane grown up. After his wifes sudden and tragic death, the entire Banks family—including aunt Jane (Emily Mortimer) and housemaid Ellen (Julie Walters)—are all struck with grief.

The enigmatic Poppins visits the family to help alleviate some of their grief and ends up leading Michaels children on a series of adventures: to the top of Big Ben, the bottom of the ocean and into magical encounters complete with animated dancing penguins and upside-down cousins.

The films star-studded cast also includes Colin Firth, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Meryl Streep , Angela Lansbury and original cast member Dick Van Dyke plays a banker.

The actress told fans at D23 that Mary Poppins Returns was a gift to the world. The bar is so high for this, Marshall said of creating the sequel.

But to be able to walk in the footsteps of this beautiful story about a woman who brings magic to this family thats looking for wonder and hope and joy in their lives…I feel a great responsibility and reverence every day.

We all feel it. Were just lifting it up to get there with the right intentions behind it. Mary Poppins Returns is set to hit theaters on Christmas Day 2018.
