What would you do, how would you spend that time?

Well I'm gonna tell you a way

that you can get 30 days in the next year.

The Nielsen company says that the average American

watches TV four hours and 50 minutes a day.

And according to online research, they say that people

spend up to 32 hours online each month,

things like Facebook and email, reading the news, et cetera.

So together, that's roughly six hours a day

spent on TV and internet, just those two things.

Now over the course of a year, that's 90 days.

Now, I know what you're saying, "Well I'm not most people,

"I don't spend that much time."

Well let's say you take a third of it,

that you only spend two hours a day watching TV,

perusing Facebook, et cetera, that's 30 days,

30 days that you could use to learn a new language,

you could write a book, you could learn to paint.

There are all of these different things that you could do.

Now I'm not saying that you have to give up watching TV

entirely and that you have to give up the computer

and internet and go hide out on a mountain somewhere

and zen out, but look at where you're spending your time.

What are you doing with it?

And I can guarantee you, you can find a couple of hours

a day that are being used frivolously.

Take that time, learn something new, study a language,

study about foreign places, plan a trip,

but take that time and use it well and use it

so that you can live your life to the third power.

What If You're In Love With a Fictional Character? - Duration: 4:13.

Hello my friends! Kaitlyn here! And have you ever had a crush on a fictional character?

Oh my goodness YES!

Ron Weasley was when I was in middle school.

Frodo Baggins was when I was in high school.

Mark Sloane aka McSteamy from Grey's Anatomy when I was college.

And Captain Hook and Damon Salvatore most recently.

Uh, can I add Steve Rogers to that list? Because be still my heart!

(INTRO MUSIC)

So okay...I know this is kind of a SUPER WEIRD video topic, but whenever I make videos about

talking to your crush or asking your crush out, I always get a few comments like this:

"Oh my god, but my crush doesn't exist! He's a fictional character! LOL. Tongue out emoji."

And I'm like, you know what? Me too, man! Me too!

So I wanted to celebrate our fictional crushes today, because why not?

YouTube seems to be going down the drain so I can just do whatever I want.

The first step to dealing with a fictional crush is well...you know that they're fictional, right?

You can't actually date them.

I mean, even if it's a TV show or movie, the character is not the actor themselves?

*scoffs* Of course, I know that Kaitlyn! What do you take me for! A crazy person!

Okay...I was just checking….

Step 2 though, embrace the crush.

Make a pinterest board with pictures of them.

Or decorate your binder with their face (does anybody still do that anymore?)

or your phone background with them.

Or make comics or fanart about them because it's FUN!

The best part about a fictional crush is that they're not real.

They just represent all the things that you love or want.

And they're super fun to squee over with your girlfriends!

And okay, so most of the time, the standards that they set are just a bit unattainable.

Like, he quotes Shakespeare and works out?

Unlikely.

Those boobs with that tiny waist?

Yeah, no.

What's cool is getting to live vicariously through another character on the show

And having a Pinterest board of their face to look back on and reminisce

about your "pirate" phase.

Which brings us to step 3, which is make sure that you don't embrace it so much so that you

try to manipulate a real life person into being more like your fictional crush.

This sounds crazy...but honestly it really does happen.

At least to the point of crushing on a real life person because they kind remind you of your fictional crush.

So I had an intense Elijah Wood in Lord of the Rings obsession in high school.

Like those blue-green eyes! They're so big and beautiful! Oh goodness!

And so I met a guy who actually looked SO MUCH LIKE HIM.

Like the big green eyes and the dark curly hair and just...I was instantly smitten.

He was nothing like Frodo or Elijah Wood.

But he was so physically similar (except whole the Hobbit thing, of course) that I was kind of obsessed with him.

We ended up dating. And it was pretty fun. He was a great kisser. But he also cheated on me.

And was all very on-again-off-again and basically he was NOT the fairytale boyfriend sent from the heavens

despite looking like my dream guy.

So moral of the story is don't date someone just because they look like your fictional crush!

Hey! Hey! No, wait! Wait!

I was dating Parker before Captain Hook was even introduced on Once Upon a Time!

Uh, yeah...sure!

So fictional crushes are FUN!

Don't feel bad for having one.

Like yeah, you can't really have a conversation with them in real life, but you can imagine lots of awesome,

swoon-worthy conversations with them!

Which reminds me, if you've ever wondered why my channel is called "i IMAGINE blank" it's because I've

always been obsessed with imagining things.

Like I live in my head far more than I do in the real world.

Basically I can't fault you for having a crush on a fictional character. Embrace it!

Just don't go crazy and like start dating someone who looks like Harry Potter. K? K.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel said in an interview Saturday that she has develop a

good "working relationship" with President Donald Trump after a rocky start.

Trump has called out Germany for its lack of defense spending and allegedly handed a

bill to Merkel during their first meeting in March.

Merkel said the two are able to maintain a good dialogue despite their differences.

"President Trump and I have developed a good working relationship, which definitely

does not rule out different points of view," she said in an interview Saturday with the

Hannoversche Allgemeine newspaper.

"When we talk to each other, it is about developing a common approach in the Ukraine

conflict or the terrible war in Syria.

It is also about the anti-terrorist struggle or the catastrophic humanitarian situation

in Yemen – all conflicts before the European doorstep."

Merkel acknowledged that U.S. cooperation is crucial for Europe to solve the issues.

"If we want to solve them, if we want to help people, we need the strong commitment

of the U.S.," Merkel said.

Merkel consulted Henry Kissinger, the German-born former U.S. secretary of state, on how to

improve relations with Trump, a source told Time.

Kissinger allegedly advised the chancellory to go through Senior Adviser Jared Kushner

and Trump's daughter Ivanka Trump.

Merkel invited Ivanka Trump to Berlin for the Women20 summit last week.

"I was also delighted that Ivanka Trump has been here and has been a part of the G20

process at the Women20 Dialogue Forum," Merkel told the Hannoversche Allgemeine newspaper.

What's The Best Way to Learn English Grammar? | Should you Read, do Grammar Exercises or...? - Duration: 8:58.

everyone I'm Sam from English for study

comm and today we're talking about

grammar what's the best way to learn

grammar is it reading is it through

grammar rules what is it today we're

going to answer that question so sit

tight let's go so before I answer this

question this age-old question I'm going

to remind you that over on my website

five mistakes can actually stop you from

improving your English so the email

easy access today's question has come

from a subscriber to the newsletter and

they say what is the best way for me to

learn grammar should I read a lot or

should I focus on learning grammar rules

and grammar exercises so let's look at

both of these options that you have

first let's talk about reading now

reading is really good for building your

vocabulary for learning more language

for seeing how language is used but the

problem with reading is it can take a

long time before you really get anywhere

and there's two kind of types of reading

one is just reading reading for

enjoyment and you just read and

basically that's kind of like just

listening to the radio or listening to

the TV it's just past

it goes in it comes out and you might

stop every now and then to write down a

word that you've never read before you

know but you're not focusing on learning

you're just focusing on reading for

enjoyment and it's not a bad thing the

other type of reading is more intense

you are actually looking for language

you're looking for language structures

you're looking for patterns you're

looking for new vocabulary that's

appropriate now this is a an effective

way of reading but it's also very slow

because you never know what you're going

to find you never know kind of what is

going to be in the novel you're reading

or what is going to be in the article

you're reading so it can be quite a slow

and just time-consuming task to do and

if you're trying to focus on grammar you

know it's not always the best way to do

it because you'll get unmotivated you'll

find that you're spending a lot of time

doing this and you might not enjoy it

and so you give up and that's not what

we want when we're trying to really

become a great user of English so if we

just put reading to one side for a

minute and let's look at focusing on

grammar rules and doing grammar

exercises and grammar rules and grammar

exercises is a really traditional way of

approaching English learning and I'm

sure that you in your classes have done

this before the teacher comes into the

room the teacher says okay today we're

going to do the simple present tense

open your books to page 22 who can tell

me how to use it and someone puts their

hand up and tells the teacher how to use

the simple present tense and then you go

and you write some sentences in the

simple present tense focusing on grammar

rules is good for putting the rules in

your memory for being able to use it

with accuracy so using it correctly but

it doesn't

mean that you will be able to use that

grammar when you need to so what can you

do it's a good question and I think that

you should take more of a contextual and

situational approach rather than

thinking about grammar now I'm going to

use an example one of my students in the

past and she wanted to kind of become a

weather lady she wanted to report the

weather in English and it's a bit of a

strange job you know it's a bit of it

but everybody wants to do that but the

way that she did this is really clever

and you can hear this kind of method

that she used and then try and apply

that to your situation of what you want

to do so she wanted to report the

weather so she found english-speaking

weather reporters like on BBC like on

the BBC News or the regional news and

she watched them and she just watched a

few she watched a few hours of these she

watched them every day but that's not

all she did she also transcribed or

wrote down what she heard so when she

heard them say something she wrote it

down and she made kind of transcriptions

and she showed me these transcriptions

that she made of the weather reports

that she listened to and then she

started to analyze the language using

the grammar knowledge that she already

had and this part is key so she didn't

stop just listening she didn't stop when

she transcribed she went further and

analyzed the language for example she

would have listened and wrote down the

sentence there's a high chance of rain

tomorrow there's a high chance of rain

tomorrow she'd have heard that sentence

there's a high chance of rain tomorrow

and she wrote down that sentence and

then she analyzed it

first one is all about the tents the

simple present tense is used to talk

about the future

there is tomorrow there is simple

present tomorrow and that tells you that

you can talk about the future with the

simple present tense the next thing you

can pick out from that is a high chance

of a high chance of and if you watch

enough weather reports you will see that

they use a high chances with lots of

different weather conditions high chance

of rain a high chance of fog a high

chance of snow a high chance of Sun

because they can't promise anything so

they say is a high chance or a low

chance Sochi from watching enough of

these weather reports and from analyzing

the language she can see what grammar

they use how they use it and what

language are what collocations they use

just from analyzing the language from

the situations that she's going to use

it in and that is my recommendation for

learning grammar don't focus on the

grammar all the time focus more on the

context or the situation that the

language is being used in because that

is more useful than a rule is going to

And welcome back. This is the first

episode in a five-part series about

one of the most fascinating corners

of the United Kingdom, Wales.

We're here with Visit Britain, and for

the next week we're going to be exploring

what makes Wales so unique...

from its ancient culture and languages,

to legendary castles, the myths of

King Arthur, and of course, doing what

we do best....finding great restaurants,

drinking good beer, and exploring

amazing places.

You guys ready? Let's do it.

Alright, guys. Welcome to Wales.

We just got here, and I'm super

stoked for the next week because Wales

is the one part of the U.K. that we really

haven't explored that much.

We've been to England; we've been to

Scotland, but this the final puzzle piece.

Also, you guys have been asking for us to

make a Wales series. So........

you asked; we're answering.

We're super excited. We've been doing

a little bit of research, but honestly,

we don't know too much about Wales.

We know they have an ancient culture

and an ancient language that is not

related to English.

We've also heard them compared to the

the Basques....of the U.K. because they

are very distinct from their neighbors,

and that's what's really fascinating to us.

We don't know where to start,

so we started off by coming here on

Saint David's Day, which is the national

day of Wales, and we're in St. Davids;

he's the patron saint of this nation.

St David was a saint who was born here

1500 years ago

in this area, and today's the

anniversary of his death.

You can say that St Patrick is to Ireland

as St David is to Wales.

He's also associated with some Welsh

symbols like the leek and the daffodil,

right here. So hopefully, we'll go see

some of the ceremonies and learn a bit

more about what it means to be Welsh.

We're walking down the Pembrokeshire Coast.

This is one of the most famous walking

areas of the U.K.

There're beautiful, coastal pathways

throughout here, and this walk, I believe,

is in honor of the pilgrimage of St David

because it's a holy site.

Back in the day, they said

the two pilgrimages here

were worth one to Rome.

Two for one deal.

Rome is more holy and farther away,

but this place is beautiful and had

special significance in

medieval England and Wales.

All right guys. We just got to

Saint Non's Chapel, and it looks

like there is a religious ceremony

going down here.

There're some people dressed up,

and looks like everybody is reciting stuff.

We'll be quiet and respectful,

but we'll try to capture it for you guys.

We just rolled up on all these people

in the middle of the ceremony.

Perfect timing. Perfect timing.

In the name of Christ. Amen.

Now everyone's walking back into town.

The bishop is at the front of the

procession, and everyone's got these

daffodils in their lapels.

Daffodils are in full bloom right now.

It's a symbol of Wales,

along with the leek, which St David

supposedly ate when he was fasting and

the dragon, which is on the Welsh flag.

The Welsh flag, which has the dragon

on it, is actually the Tudor family flag.

The Tudors went on to become kings

and queens of England.

For a national festival,

this has to be one of the quietest,

most mellow festivals I have ever been to.

Definitely different from the United States.

Not like the 4th of July.

Not like the 4th of July at all.

Now we're heading back into town.

Everyone is singing traditional songs.

We're going to this rock

where apparently at noon,

once a year, the sun shines through

the rock. It's aligned perfectly for

this day, but that

means we have to have some sun.

That was super interesting.

I think that was cool to see St David

Day on St David's.....

you mean.. I mean...it was

cool to see St David on St David's Day.

Definitely. Not a huge ceremony,

but definitely a rare one

and a really unique experience.

Even though that was a religious

ceremony, it was one that was imbued

with lots of national pride.

And I think that

that was really a nice way to ease into

Wales and to get our bearings.

Now that we do have our bearings,

we're going to ratchet it up.

It's time to get into the ocean,

and we're going to do it in the most

dramatic way possible.....

TYF Adventures

and they're going to take us coasteering.

It just started to rain.

What better way to get wet than by

jumping in the Atlantic Ocean,

which is a warm and inviting 7 degrees

celsius right now.

My name is John Bayrom.

I'm head of Adventure at TYF

and we're going to go out coasteering.

It all started here 30 years ago at

St Davids.

When the surf was flat, you'd have to find

something to do, so guys would just go

along and find some amazing areas of

the coastline. You'd scramble along,

find something to jump off. We came

up with the idea..oh that's fantastic,

and turned it into a commercial activity.

We may look like Monty Python,

but we are not.

Well maybe we are in spirit.

We are here on the edge of the coast,

and what is going to happen right now?

We're going to head just five minute's

walk over there,

and we're going to do some scrambling

along the rocks, find some waves to play

in and do some jumps.

This is the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path.

It's 186 miles long.

It's beautiful. This place is famous for

walking paths.

You can consider what we're doing.....

walking with a bit more of an extreme

edge to it.

We just got out of the ocean,

and we're going to warm up with a pint

because here in the U.K., the pints are

room temperature, so it should be a

Baby Night Terrors | Tips, What to do | Jules Furness - Duration: 5:26.

Hi guys I'm Jules if you new here and I

have a gorgeous three-year-old and I

upload at the moment three times a week

as vlogs helpful hopefully stuff and the

odd haul so hit subscribe now if you

want to be able to meet again so today I

want to talk about night terrors for

kids I've mentioned a couple of times

that Josh had night terrors as a baby and every

time I mentioned it you have gone how do

you deal with i?t because it's a

really hard thing as a parent to watch

your child go through. So I thought I

just do a quick thing on what are night terrors

and how we dealt with it. So my little

boy is now three but had night

terrors from about about six months old

until he was about two years old so he

started them very young for the whole

night terror world and at first honestly

we panicked we didn't know what it was

they are quite scary. So a night terror

is different from a nightmare or bad dream

because they don't remember it and you

cannot wake them up and they might have

their eyes open while they are freaking

out. They last for

between five and fifteen minutes and you

can't you can't wake them up and advise

not to wake them up and as a mum you

just want to make everything better with

your kids and you can't even

wake them up to comfort them or

reassure, is really really hard to

kind of sit and watch. Usually it

happens in the first third of the night

because of the that type of sleep they're in

and that was definitely true for Josh so

we 's put him to bed and within a couple of hours

we would hear him screaming. Run upstairs

and realize he was having yet another

night terror. Some things that can make

them more likely to happen or did in our

case was him being overtired so if he

wouldn't have his afternoon nap we then

knew for sure he was going to have a

night terror that night. Also if he was

super hot or had a bit of temperature,

coming down with something

and also I don't know if you've ever heard of it but the

Wonder week's book and app. We had the

app and if it was during one of his like

more busy weeks on the Wonder Weeks

then he generally would have more then

as well. I will link that

below if you have a baby I

found that really really helpful. So the

big question is what to do when they

are having a night terror and so

the first thing like I said earlier, you

can't wake them up and don't wake them

up but so the second part of that is

that if you are touching them, cuddling

them, trying to wake them up or trying even

just trying to reassure then it can

it can feed into the terror so they can

be more scare. Tthey may not recognize

you move even though their eyes are open they're not

actually be able to see you or to

recognize you. Might think you're a stranger so

if they're touching them could be a

more scary thing. The first thing is

obviously about keeping them safe and

they may just lay there still and be

upset and crying but other kids can be

thrashing around, some kids get out of

the bed and run around so it's just

making sure that they can't get

themselves into any harm we used to make

sure that just we just want to take a

muslin to bed tie it on to

the cot rails really really tight so it

couldn't be got off to like get over

his face anyway generally but also if you

have a night terror he wouldn't thrash about

and get tangled up in it. Some people say

don't even like talk to them or anything

and then others are found other ways

around that so for us we would talk to

him, we would reassure him. You're really

like you're waiting for the storm to

pass and I just found like repeating

that in my head helps me so I just kept

saying to myself this is going to pass

it's going to be over soon. In the

beginning we did make the mistake of

picking him up, it was so panicked and he was

this little baby like absolutely so

distressed that we would pick him up and

take him into our bedroom and then

come sit with him on the bed until

it passed and but then if you woke up

he'd be like really disorientated about

where he was and also I think probably

the movement of carrying him out and

stuff probably added to thing. They say

that they can't remember it the next day

and they say if they can it was probably a

nightmare rather than like terror

however I don't think that Josh could

remember it but I feel like his brain

knew something is up. He was just a

little bit off the next day after having

one that also could be down to the fact

that his sleep had been broken so he

was tired so obviously is going to be a

little bit more cling,y little bit like

they are when they're tired. A friend

who did the scheduled wakening, which is

where you wake up your child just before

the normal

time that they would have a night terror

and it's meant to get them out of there

like their brain has a habit of doing

that each night. We didn't do that

because I felt like it was just going to

make him more tired the next day and

some people are glad that they did it but I just

thought it's worth mentioning you know

look up schedule wakening if you think

that it might help with your child. So I

really hope that was helpful, that was

the aim with this video or at least made

you feel like you're you're not on your

own it will get better.

Josh's gradually got better until he was

2 and they have now now stopped. I think he

had one week where he was having them

again which was when he was a little bit

like everything was a little bit

crazy at home anyway it will it will get

better

What's Up for May?

Jupiter at its best,

Saturn rises in the late evening sky,

and the moon dances with the planets.

Hello and welcome! I'm Jane Houston Jones from

NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California.

Jupiter climbs higher in the southeast sky

earlier in the evening this month.

This means that telescope viewers don't have to

wait until midnight to get good views of the planet.

You can enjoy Jupiter through binoculars, too.

Through binoculars, you should be able to see

Jupiter's four Galilean moons:

Io, Europa, Ganymede and Callisto

and watch them change position from night to night.

Our moon appears near Jupiter from May 5-8.

The moon joins Venus and Mercury in the eastern sky

just before sunrise on May 22 and 23.

And it pairs up with red Mars just after sunset

in the west-northwest sky on May 26.

[ whoosh ]

Saturn is now visible before midnight,

rising around 11:30 p.m. in early May

and by 9:30 p.m. later in the month.

The best time to see Saturn is when it is highest in the sky.

That's after midnight this month,

before midnight in June,

and by early evening in July.

Through your telescope you may see some of Saturn's cloud bands

and even a glimpse at Saturn's north polar region,

so beautifully captured by NASA's Cassini spacecraft.

What is populism and how is it shaping global politics? - Duration: 5:01.

Populism can be very hard to define because it varies from national context to national context.

The one thing that parties, movements, politicians who are described as populists tend to share

is this insistence that

So there's a very "us versus them" quality to populism.

They're really a consequence

of other parties and institutions failures, rather than the cause of them.

Billionaires in this country

With left wing populists, the enemy tends

to be a sort of financial or business type of elite.

When Mexico sends it's people, they're not sending their best.

In a lot of other countries, the enemy may be immigrants, people who look different than

us, people who think different than us.

The social and economic problems that Europe is currently grappling with started decades

ago and have sort of gradually increased over time.

So what we really had was this kind of conflation of economic and social problems that really

I think, push a lot of voters to embrace radical change.

The upcoming French elections provide us with a great prism through which to understand

the meaning and the rise of populism.

Marine Le Pen who represents the national front has turned herself into an incredibly

powerful, and I think interesting figure.

Should Macron win and not manage to convince voters afterwards that his program can actually

solve their problems; we should expect her to come back in the next presidential election

even stronger.

Germany, along with France remains the main player, the main power in Europe so what happens

there really has a huge impact outside of the country's borders.

The populist right, the Alternative for Germany, was a few months ago predicted to do

quite well at the national elections.

Now it seems to have declined, somewhat partially due to infighting.

Historically of course, because of Germany's past, there's been a real barrier to the

rise of far right populism in Germany.

So the fact that we're even seeing seeds of it, is really a reflection of how deeply

the structural shifts in European political life go.

The Netherlands, the populist there was predicted to come out on top.

Even though Wilders did not win, he did manage to increase his vote.

So, I wouldn't take the election result as a sign of absolute defeat but a sign that

we have to continue to worry about the underlying trends that fed these parties.

It's much more dangerous in a way in places like Poland and Hungary because the institutions

and the norms of democracy are much weaker and therefore much easier to maneuver around

or even overthrow.

We've seen that happen in Hungary, we've seen that happen in Turkey.

It also of course happened in Venezuela.

And people are very worried about something like that happening in a place like Poland.

But if we think about populism as a consequence of rising dissatisfaction and the inability

of elites and institutions to deal with it; then there could potentially be a silver lining

in populism.

Populists tend to raise issues that a lot of people are concerned about.

They tend to focus on problems that are not being addressed.

If traditional elites and institutions can look and say hey we better figure out better

ways of dealing with these issues and concerns, then populists will have performed oddly enough

a kind of backhanded service.

If not, then we can expect the populists to continue to grow in support, and probably the problems

not to be absolutely addressed.

Politics is about getting your message across.

So populists tend to be very good at this

because they tend to present pretty simple

and often problematic solutions

to contemporary problems.

GOING TO THE RIGHT PLACE.

AND--BUT SADLY, THERE ARE EVEN BELIEVERS IN CHRIST WHO STILL

AREN'T SURE WHERE THEY'RE GONNA END UP.

AND IT REALLY MAKES ME SAD WHEN I SAY TO SOMEBODY, "WELL,

DO YOU BELIEVE YOU'RE GONNA GO TO HEAVEN WHEN YOU DIE?"

AND THEY SAY, "I HOPE SO."

NO CHRISTIAN HAS TO HOPE SO.

IF WE REALLY BELIEVE THE WORD OF GOD,

THEN WE KNOW THAT WE KNOW THAT WE KNOW THAT WE'RE GONNA LIVE

FOREVER IN HIS PRESENCE.

REVELATION 22:12: "BEHOLD, I'M COMING SOON."

LET ME SAY THAT AGAIN.

"BEHOLD," JESUS SAID, "I AM COMING SOON."

NOW, YOU KNOW, MY SOON AND GOD'S SOON, I'VE FOUND OUT, ARE

SOMETIMES NOT THE SAME THING.

BUT IN THIS INSTANCE, I DON'T WANT TO ASSUME THAT IT'S

SOMETHING HE'S GONNA PUT OFF.

"AND I SHALL BRING MY WAGES AND MY REWARDS WITH ME,

TO REPAY AND RENDER TO EACH ONE JUST WHAT HIS OWN

ACTIONS AND HIS OWN WORK MERIT."

GONNA BE JUDGED ON OUR SALVATION AS FAR AS I DON'T--I CAN'T WORK

THAT'S A GIFT OF GOD THAT'S RECEIVED ONLY BY FAITH,

EPHESIANS 2:8 AND 9, BEAUTIFUL SCRIPTURES.

FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE NOT RECEIVED CHRIST AS YOUR SAVIOR,

THIS SHOULD BRING YOU GREAT COMFORT TODAY, AND IT SHOULD

HELP YOU MAKE A DECISION TODAY THAT YOU'RE NOT GONNA

IN OTHER WORDS, GOD DOESN'T WANT US TO SAY,

"WELL, I DESERVE THAT," OR "I'VE EARNED THAT."

YOU KNOW, NO MATTER HOW GOOD ANY ONE OF US MIGHT BE, WE STILL

CAN'T SAY THAT WE DESERVE TO HAVE A RELATIONSHIP

WITH GOD BECAUSE HIS HOLINESS AND GREATNESS IS SO FAR REMOVED

FROM ANY AMOUNT OF GOODNESS THAT WE COULD EVER DO.

AND SO, EVEN PEOPLE THAT ARE WATCHING TODAY AND YOU JUST

THINK, "WELL, I'M A GOOD PERSON," YOU KNOW WHAT?

YOU MIGHT BE, BUT THAT'S STILL NOT GONNA GET YOU INTO HEAVEN.

BECAUSE NO MATTER HOW GOOD WE ARE, THE BIBLE SAYS IF WE LIVE

ACCORDING TO THE LAW, IF WE DO ONE THING WRONG, THEN WE'RE

GUILTY OF DOING EVERYTHING WRONG.

THAT'S WHY WE NEED JESUS.

WE NEED TO PREPARE FOR ETERNITY, WHETHER YOU'RE BORN AGAIN

OR YOU'RE NOT BORN AGAIN, EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US,

WE NEED TO PREPARE FOR ETERNITY.

YOU SEE, IT'S VERY PLAIN THAT A BELIEVER IS NOT GONNA BE JUDGED

ON WHETHER THEY'RE SAVED OR NOT.

WHEN YOU STAND BEFORE GOD, IF HE WERE TO SAY, "WHY SHOULD

I LET YOU IN," YOU SIMPLY SAY, "BECAUSE I BELIEVE IN JESUS,"

AND THAT'S THE END OF IT.

YOU'RE NOT GONNA BE JUDGED AS TO WHETHER OR NOT YOU'RE

GONNA BE SAVED, BUT, AND THIS IS SOMETHING THAT I THINK A LOT

OF BELIEVERS REALLY DON'T PONDER ENOUGH, WE WILL BE JUDGED

FOR AND RECEIVE OR LOSE REWARDS FOR THE WORKS THAT WE HAVE OR

HAVE NOT DONE WHILE WE'RE HERE.

LET ME SAY IT AGAIN.

WE WILL BE JUDGED FOR THE WORKS THAT WE'VE DONE HERE.

AND THE BIBLE ACTUALLY SAYS THAT ANY WORK THAT WE'VE DONE THAT IS

NOT DONE WITH A PURE MOTIVE WILL BE BURNED UP AND WE WILL LOSE

THE REWARD OF IT, EVEN THOUGH WE OURSELVES WILL BE SAVED.

SO I CAN DO ALL KINDS OF GOOD WORKS THAT'S WHY, SEE, YOU MIGHT

THINK YOU'RE A REALLY GOOD PERSON.

WELL, YOU KNOW WHAT?

IF YOU'RE NOT IN CHRIST, IF YOU'RE NOT A BELIEVER IN CHRIST,

NONE OF THAT GOODNESS IS GONNA COUNT FOR ANYTHING

WHEN YOU STAND BEFORE GOD.

AND--BUT IT'S COMFORTING FOR ME TO KNOW THAT I MAY PUT OUT

A LOT OF EFFORT HERE AND MAYBE I LOVE MY ENEMIES AND I'M GOOD TO

PEOPLE THAT REALLY AREN'T VERY EASY TO BE GOOD TO AND,

YOU KNOW, I GIVE FINANCIALLY INTO THE KINGDOM AND, YOU KNOW,

I BELIEVE WE SEE REWARDS HERE, BUT IF WE DON'T SEE HERE WHAT

WE THINK WE SHOULD SEE, THE GOOD NEWS IS, IS WE ARE GOING

TO SEE IT WHEN WE GET TO HEAVEN.

AND I BELIEVE THAT WE ALL HAVE A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF WONDERFUL

REWARD STORED UP FOR US AND, TO BE HONEST, I DON'T WANNA GET TO

HEAVEN AND FIND OUT THAT I HAD ALL THIS STUFF THAT COULD HAVE

BEEN A BENEFIT TO ME BUT I JUST LOST OUT BECAUSE I WASTED MY

TIME OR I'M A BELIEVER IN CHRIST BUT I SPENT MY WHOLE LIFE BEING

ANGRY AT SOMEBODY THAT DID SOMETHING WRONG TO ME

WHEN I WAS A CHILD.

SO, FOR A BELIEVER, IT'S REALLY IMPORTANT THAT WE UNDERSTAND THE

POWER OF OBEDIENCE AND HOW EACH ONE OF US NEEDS TO WORK WITH

THE HOLY SPIRIT TO STRIVE TO DO EVERYTHING THAT GOD WANTS US TO

DO AND TO LIVE ACCORDING TO THE PROMPTINGS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.

I READ A STATEMENT RECENTLY AND I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY

LIKE THIS.

IT SAID, "NOBODY NEEDS TO BE AFRAID OF FAILURE, WHAT WE NEED

TO BE MORE AFRAID OF IS THAT WE MIGHT SUCCEED AT DOING SOMETHING

USELESS."

IS THAT NOT GOOD?

MATTER OF FACT, I THINK THAT BEARS REPEATING.

WE DON'T NEED TO BE AFRAID OF FAILURE.

WHAT WE NEED TO FEAR IS SPENDING OUR LIVES DOING SOMETHING,

SUCCEEDING AT DOING SOMETHING USELESS.

AND SO I BELIEVE, THIS IS SOMETHING I'VE BEEN SAYING FOR

THE LAST YEAR, WE NEED TO SPEND MOST OF OUR HERE TIME GETTING

READY FOR THERE.

BUT YOU KNOW, EVEN AS BELIEVERS, I THINK IF WE'RE HONEST ABOUT

IT, HOW MUCH TIME DO WE EVEN SPEND THINKING ABOUT ETERNITY?

HOW MUCH TIME DO WE REALLY EVEN SPEND THINKING ABOUT, "I'M GONNA

MEET THE LORD FACE TO FACE SOME DAY, AND HE'S GONNA ASK

FOR AN ACCOUNTING OF MY LIFE."

AND NONE OF US ARE GONNA GIVE A PERFECT ACCOUNTING, BUT IT

DOESN'T NEED TO FRIGHTEN US BECAUSE IF WE'VE JUST DONE

THE BEST WE COULD FOR THE GLORY OF GOD, THEN THAT'S GONNA COUNT

FOR EVERYTHING.

I DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU BUT I HAD TO DEAL WITH SOMETHING IN MYSELF

AND I REALLY GOT AN ANSWER ONLY ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO.

AND THAT IS, IS THAT IT SEEMS LIKE I FIND THIS LOW-LEVEL

DISCONTENT IN ME SOMETIMES.

SOMETHING ELSE THAT I WANT AND I DON'T EVEN REALLY KNOW

WHAT IT IS."

AND YOU KNOW, PAUL SAID, "I'VE LEARNED TO BE CONTENT IN ALL

THINGS," AND SO I GOT A LITTLE BIT FRUSTRATED WITH MYSELF

BECAUSE I THOUGHT, "NOW, I SHOULDN'T FEEL LIKE THAT.

I'VE GOT A GREAT LIFE, GREAT FAMILY,

PEOPLE THAT LOVE ME, NICE HOME.

WHY WOULD I FEEL LIKE THIS?" WELL, THE ANSWER

IS IN THE BIBLE.

IN ECCLESIASTES 3:11, "HE HAS MADE EVERYTHING

BEAUTIFUL IN ITS TIME.

AND HE HAS PLANTED ETERNITY IN MEN'S HEARTS AND MINDS,"

NOW LISTEN TO THIS, "[A DIVINELY IMPLANTED SENSE OF A PURPOSE

WORKING THROUGH THE AGES WHICH NOTHING UNDER THE SUN

BUT GOD ALONE CAN SATISFY]"

IS THAT NOT BEAUTIFUL?

SO, IN OTHER WORDS, TO BE VERY HONEST, GETTING A NEW CAR

SHOULDN'T TOTALLY SATISFY US.

GETTING THE JOB OF OUR DREAMS SHOULD NOT TOTALLY SATISFY US.

MARRYING THE BEST-LOOKING MAN ON THE PLANET SHOULD NOT

TOTALLY SATISFY US.

BECAUSE THERE'S SOMETHING DEEP IN OUR HEARTS THAT WE KNOW WE

STILL CAN NEVER HAVE HERE, AND THAT'S SEEING JESUS FACE TO FACE

AND LIVING IN HIS PRESENCE, AMEN?

SO, I WOULD BE MORE CONCERNED ABOUT YOU IF YOU SAID, "MAN,

I AM TOTALLY SATISFIED HERE.

LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE THE EARTH, LOVE THE WORLD,

LOVE MY STUFF."

I'D BE MORE CONCERNED ABOUT YOU IF YOU SAID THAT TO ME THAN IF

YOU SAID, "YOU KNOW, JOYCE, I'VE GOT A GREAT LIFE.

WHERE IT SAYS WE ARE TO "KEEP OURSELVES FROM IDOLS."

WE KEEP OURSELVES FROM LETTING ANYTHING ELSE GET IN FRONT

OF GOD.

AND IT'S SOMETHING THAT WE ALL HAVE TO REMIND OURSELVES OR

MAYBE EVEN WORK AT A LITTLE BIT.

YOU KNOW, PEOPLE ASK ME QUITE FREQUENTLY, "HOW DO YOU KEEP

YOUR PRIORITIES IN YOUR LIFE STRAIGHT, WITH ALL YOU HAVE

I FINALLY JUST GOT THE GREAT ANSWER FROM GOD.

AS BELIEVERS IN JESUS CHRIST, WE NEED TO SAY, "NOW, WHAT

IS THE ROOT OF THIS PROBLEM?" AND A LOT OF TIMES, THE ROOT OF

THE PROBLEM IS NOT THAT WE NEED MORE OF SOMETHING ELSE,

IT'S MAYBE THAT WE'VE LET THE SOMETHING ELSE BECOME

MORE IMPORTANT TO US THAN WHAT IT SHOULD BE.

MATTHEW 6:33: "SEEK FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD AND HIS

YOUR WAY YET, TRUST GOD THAT HIS TIMING IS PERFECT IN YOUR LIFE

AND BELIEVE THAT HE NOT ONLY WATCHES OVER US IN OUR LIVES,

BUT HE KNOWS WHAT WE CAN HANDLE AND WHAT WE CAN'T HANDLE

AND THANK GOD HE'S NOT GONNA GIVE US MORE THAN WE CAN HANDLE.

FAITHFULLY.

AND THAT MEANS THAT WE NEED TO REALIZE THAT WE ARE OWNERS

OF NOTHING AND STEWARDS OF EVERYTHING, AMEN?

WE DON'T OWN ANYTHING.

IT'S NOT MY THIS, MY THAT, MY SOMETHING ELSE.

I WOULD HAVE ABSOLUTELY ZERO, NOTHING, EXCEPT THAT GOD

GRACIOUSLY GAVE ME SOMETHING.

A Scottish artist was commissioned to paint a portrait of Donald Trump as President before

he even won the election.

Craig Campbell was approached by the Commander in Chief's son, Eric, last year and asked

to make a presidential portrait for an undisclosed fee.

Campbell, who is considered one of Scotland's leading portraiture and figurativeartists,

said yes despite Trump being locked in a close battle for the presidency with Hillary Clinton

at the time.

The 56-year-old artist, from Ayr, has carried out a number of portraits of famous golfers,

such as Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods, and his work is featured throughout Trump's

Turnberry golf course, South Ayrshire.

Prints of his works are featured in every bedroom of the Turnberry resort, and Trump

also already owns one of Campbell's golf paintings.

The new oil painting of Trump shows the now-president looking into the distance as he stands between

two American flags and next to the official Presidentialseal.

Campbell said he had to scour the web to find the right image to base his painting on.

He said: 'Eric approached me not long after his dad was confirmed as the Republican candidate

to see if I would be interested in doing a presidential portrait.

'This was ages before the day of voting but Eric thought it would be a nice surprise

for if he won.

'Like everyone else, I was shocked when he won it in the end but I've met him, and

his whole family, and they're been very nice people.

'Eric was really impressed with it when he was visiting Turnberry the other month.

He thought it looked very lifelike

'Hopefully he'll hang it up in the oval office when he takes it with him.

There's not many people who can say they've done an official portrait of the American

president.

'I had to scour the web to get a picture where he wasn't pulling a face and looked

presidential.

I'm really pleased with how it turned out.'

Trump, whose approval rating after 100 days in the job stands at only 42 per cent, is

likely to collect the painting during a scheduled state visit to the UK later this year.

His plan to visit the UK was postponed amid mass nationwide protests against himearlier

this year.

Campbell is scheduled to have an exhibition of his work in July at the Turnberry resort.
