More than half of RV owners travel with their pets… that's why we built the ACE.. It's

the first motorhome designed with pet owners in mind.

I'm Steve DuVal from Thor Motor Coach… Let's take a look at why the 2018 ACE is

made to fit…. You and your buddy. Whether you walk into the ACE on two legs

or 4… rest assured the residential vinyl flooring will hold up under the toughest and

dirtiest of conditions…. and is easy to clean.

As you make your way to the driver's seat… your passengers will set up shop with the

mobile, flip down workstation… or they'll flop down and use the pet window so they too….can

take in the scenery. When it's time to set up camp… there's

not a bad seat in the house. All 6 ACE Floorplans feature a jack knife sofa and dinette. All

also come in your choice of three decors from the better homes and garden fabric collection…

There's arctic frost And mesa mineral 2… teamed up here with

the Brazilian cherry woodwork. The ACE is great for entertaining … with

captain's chairs that spin around… and a 40 inch TV with blu ray player in the living

area. Meal time is made easy in the kitchen… lift

the NEW glass cover on the stove and you're cooking with gas. You'll also find a microwave,

double door fridge and freezer, an oversize stainless steel sink and pull out pantry.

For those with you who do not eat with a knife and fork... We've hidden away a kibble station

to make meal time just as easy for your furry campers… this one is under the bed... But

they can also be found in the roomy bathrooms… which also feature a raised vanity and Large

showers with skylights and pocket doors to create all the space and privacy you could

ask for. Bedrooms in the ACE come with a walk around

queen or King Size bed... Meaning there's room for your four legged foot warmer to curl

up too. All bedrooms also feature a 32 inch TV...

And large closets and dressers. There's more places to curl up for the night

than the bedroom… both the booth dinette... and jack knife sofa quickly convert into beds.

You can get an ACE with bunk beds… And every ACE also features a drop down overhead

bunk. When you move the fun outside and need a free

set of hands, the pet link multipurpose tie down comes in handy to make sure no one takes

off to explore. The dogs days of summer… are perfect for

kicking back under the awning and spending time in the outdoor kitchen..

The exterior propane connection makes hooking up your favorite grill a snap.

The ACE also features an exterior 32 inch TV and you can control your music's with

your smart phone thanks to the Bluetooth® Coach Radio System located in the Bedroom.

Every Ace offers plenty of storage... With new camlocks to keep your bays secure and

safe. If you plan on bringing it all… The MEGA-Storage™

Compartment. Can hold it. This trick little storage bay… can be used

as a mud room and some people use it for their cat box.

From pet friendly to eco-friendly… the ACE now comes prepped for solar charging and uses

LED running and marker lights… and new l-e-d's along the awning.

It's hard to let sleeping dogs lie when you have a Triton® V10 Engine, with 320HP,

and 460 lb.-ft. Torque ready to be unleashed. The 2018 ACE from Thor Motor Coach… now

Compass Motor with Inertia Coil - Duration: 3:59.

Here is a Compass Motor with an Inertia Coil.

The armature is a two pole electromagnet coil.

As the electromagnet turns on delicate bearings

it points north and south aligning with Earth's magnetic field

A photocell and light control through an Arduino

the reversing of the electromagnet's polarity

so it is constantly turning trying to point north/south.

It works just like a compass needle but only with

an electromagnet.

See the armature turn with the pointer.

The pointer is now showing the Arduino controller.

Here is the Inertia Coil. More on that later.

The pointer next shows the L298n motor controller

that controls the electricity from 20 AA batteries

to the armature and the Inertia Coil.

We use an IR receiver on the breadboard and a TV remote control

to turn on and off the power.

The up and down arrows on the remote control

the polarity on the Inertia Coil. The left arrow turns the

power to the Inertia Coil off.

When the up arrow on the controller is pressed

the armature can be seen to go faster.

When the left arrow is pressed it goes back to normal

speed. When the down arrow is pressed it goes

slower and slower. This is key.

The momentum from the ends of the spinning

armature is transferred to this magnet and hence

the platform.

When this happens in theory thrust is generated.

You will see us touching the sides of the

heat sink to the L298n because it gets a little warm.

Its specs say it will handle up to 46 volts at 2 amps on

each of its two circuits. We doubt it can really do that

but we are using between 19 and 30 volts although

these batteries are a little run down.

We observe the heat sink getting hotter when both

coils are under power so we use the Inertia Coil

sparingly. Besides it will after a few seconds cause

the armature to stop spinning.

We haven't yet decided exactly how to test this device.

Possibly we will place it on a piece of Styrofoam

and float it in still water to see if it moves or if we

feel ambitious we will attempt to construct a

pendulum testing arrangement.
