What was this truck originally?

This was a normal Nissan Sunny pickup.

What was the idea behind the customization you did?

7 of us set out to spend 6 months on this truck...

This truck was a low rider to begin with...

A prior year's class built this as a low rider...

We picked up the project and decided to lift it like this.

I like it a lot.

There aren't many lifted Sunny trucks around...

Everyone slams their trucks... not many lifted.

What engine?

We put a V8 from a Camaro in it.

What about the transmission?

It's an automatic.

Does it run and drive?

Yes it does.

The students have a budget of 1,000,000 yen (approx. US$9500)

They have to build a complete car within that budget?

The vehicle, all the parts, engine, suspension... they must budget everything?

That's impressive.

Since there isn't a lot of budget, many parts need to be hand made.

Hand made???

Yes, they really learn how to build within a tight budget.

We restored this Ferrari ourselves.

This car will go back to its owner after you finish it?

How far did you guys go with this Ferrari restoration?

This is what it was like when we got it.

It looks pretty old and tired.

We took to all the way down to the frame.

We sandblasted the entire thing.

We then did all the body work.

We had to make many of the panels ourselves.

What about paint?

We did ourselves...

Its very nice paint work!

What about the engine?

It doesn't run yet...

It's just resting in there?

It's all rebuilt but not hooked back up yet...

Yes, we had the engine professionally rebuilt by a Ferrari shop.

We took a Sera and remade a Toyota Group C class race car from the 80s.

We wanted a race car that could drive on the streets.

Will you be driving this car on the class trip?

Yes, after it passes Shaken inspection we will drive it on a class trip to Hakone.
