You want me to eat WHAT? - Duration: 5:12.
Hi, everybody. It's Katie. Today, I want to talk to you about something that's a
little controversial, and that is consuming your placenta. That's right.
I'm talking about consuming that big, bloody, blobby thing that you have to have
after your baby comes out. When they told me there was something else coming,
I was like, "What? Really?" And out it came. But, anyway, yeah. So we're going to
talk about that today. Before we go any further, I, obviously, am going to give
you a little disclaimer, and that is, I'm not a doctor. And if I was, I would
probably be like, "Don't eat that. That's gross. There's no medical studies.
Blah, blah, blah." Anyway, I'm not a doctor and I kind of err a little bit more
towards the "crunchy" side of things. And so when I first heard about this,
it was in preparation for my first daughter being born, and I saw midwives
for her. And they asked if I was interested in it, and I was like, "You
want me to do what?" So I went home and read about it and here is what I found.
These are the claims that placenta and eating your placenta could
potentially do for you. One was to help with mood swings, help with postpartum
depression, help with milk supply. Hear my little baby back there.
So, these were all things, especially the postpartum depression,
and energy levels, it could help with your energy levels. Those were some of the
things that I'm like, "Okay, this sounds pretty good because I don't know what I'm
getting myself into, but I'm betting I'm going to be tired." So, I had the midwives
work with a lady, and I had my placenta encapsulated. There's a couple of
different ways that you can consume your placenta, and one of the least disgusting
ways...actually I shouldn't say that. Whatever you choose, different strokes for
different folks. But for me, the least weird way that I could think of was to
have my placenta encapsulated. So, they basically take your placenta,
they dehydrate it, pulverize it down into a fine powder, put it into the little gel
pill things, and you take them. So, I did that with my first daughter,
and I also did it with my second daughter. Now with my first daughter, unfortunately,
there were some other things at play, and I didn't take the placenta
pills as long as I wished that I had. But I had some other medical things happening,
and so I stopped taking them. And I'm kind of bummed because I'd like to be able
to say, you know, that I had this great experience. So, for my second one,
I decided to do the same thing, but I also decided to do something in addition to
that. So, I have a few left. These are my encapsulated placenta pills.
And then I also decided to do a tincture. This right here, I haven't tried it yet,
this is for later. But basically, it's a strip of the placenta
chopped up and it's steeped in a high-grade vodka. And so, it's supposed to
do the same thing that the pills do, it's just a different, different way to take
it, I guess. So, I have been taking the placenta pills, and one thing that I have
noticed, like really noticed, is what it does for my milk supply.
Now, I've done...in a past video, I talked about my overactive letdown and so,
I was thinking, "Okay, do I really need to take this if I have overactive let down?
Do I need help with this?" But I did some research and I actually found an article
by a woman who was fearing the same thing. And she took it, and it actually kind of
helped calm her overactive letdown. So, I thought, "Okay, well, let's see how this
goes." And so I've continued to take it, and there was a period where I dropped off
as I was researching because I was afraid that I was just going to firehose
my kid to death.
So I stopped for a little while until I found that article. Then I started back
up, and I noticed, actually, awesomely enough, I noticed that my letdown was not
quite as abrupt or "fire-hose-ish." There's that pins-and-needles feeling when you get
your letdown, and it wasn't nearly as intense. And so, I've been kind of
just excited about the fact that that's helped. And I'm sure my kiddo is probably
happy about that too, as well. Anyway, if you are considering it,
I would encourage you to do research on it because I'm not...she's getting tired
of her swing. I would encourage you to do the research because
it's probably not for everybody. And I know that the medical community.....
there's definitely opinions about it by the medical community.
But if you're interested in it, give it a try and do some research,
look up some websites. So, that's it. Okay. Thank you guys so much for watching.

House Floor Camera Ban: What Don't Republicans Want You To See? - Duration: 7:05.
FOLLOWING LAST YEAR'S DRAMATIC HOUSE PROTEST WERE
MEMBERS OF THE DEMOCRATIC CAUCUS DID A SIT IN OVER THE LACK OF
LEGISLATION ACTION ON GUN CONTROL AND FILMED IT, QUITE
FAMOUSLY, A LIVE STREAM FROM THE FLOOR AS THEY DID THAT PROTEST,
REPUBLICANS WILL MANDATE LARGE FINES FOR ANYONE WHO DOES LIVE
STREAMING FROM THE HOUSE FLOOR.
IF YOU JUST DO PHOTOGRAPHS YOU
CAN BE FINED MAGNIFICENTLY AS WELL --
ARE THEY NOT MERCIFUL?
THAT IS AN EXPENSIVE SELFIE, HOWEVER
YOU SLICE IT --
THAT RULE IS FREQUENTLY BROKEN DURING CEREMONIAL EVENTS
AND UP UNTIL NOW DID NOT HAVE ANY FINANCIAL DISINCENTIVE
ATTACHED TO IT.
REPRESENTED OF JOHN LEWIS, ONE OF THE MOST HIGH
PROFILE MEMBERS OF THAT PROTEST, SAYS --
HE'S BEEN WORSE THAN FINED, OF COURSE, HE'S BEEN BEATEN DOWN
DURING THE CIVIL RIGHTS ERA AND SURVIVED THAT.
SO HAVE AT IT,
HOSS.
I WOULD BE SUPER SURPRISED IF WE COULDN'T RAISE ALL THE
FINE MONEY FOR ANY OF THE FOLKS IN THE HOUSE WHO TAKE FOOTAGE,
BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY -- I'M NOT WORRIED ABOUT THE FINE, WE'VE
GOT YOUR BACK, IF YOU WANT TO FILM INSIDE THE HOUSE OF
REPRESENTATIVES -- LET'S BE LIKE TRUMP, I'LL COVER THE COSTS.
I
MEAN, OUR AUDIENCE WILL, PROBABLY.
I'M NOT DOING IT.
BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, THIS IS OUR HOUSE, NOT THEIR HOUSE.
IT'S
NOT DONALD TRUMP'S HOUSE, IT'S NOT TRUMP TOWER, IT'S NOT THE
REPUBLICAN PARTY'S HOUSE, IT'S OUR HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.
THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO REPRESENT US, THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT, IT
IS IN THE NAME.
WHAT DO YOU MEAN, WE CAN'T TAPE WHAT HAPPENS
IN OUR HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES?
WHILE THEY ARE REPRESENTING US,
WE CAN'T TAPE WHAT THEY ARE DOING?
OF COURSE WE CAN, THAT'S
THE MOST OUTRAGEOUS THING I'VE EVER HEARD.
IF THERE WAS A RULE
IN THE PAST THAT YOU CAN'T TAKE PICTURES, THAT RULE WAS SILLY
AND SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN SUSTAINED, AND ALL THIS IS
UNCONSTITUTIONAL.
OF COURSE WE ARE ALLOWED TO KNOW WHAT OUR
REPRESENTATIVES ARE DOING, THIS IS NOT A DICTATORSHIP, IT IS
SUPPOSED TO BE A DEMOCRACY AND THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE
REPRESENTING US, YES I WANT TO KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING.
IT
SHOULD BE FILMED FROM ALL ANGLES AT ALL TIMES.
AND YESTERDAY, THEIR ATTEMPT TO DESTROY THE ETHICS COMMITTEE,
I THINK HOUSE REPUBLICANS HAVE BEEN INSPIRED BY DONALD TRUMP.
IT IS LIKE THEY WANT TO MAKE SURE YOU KNOW HOW CORRUPT THEY
ARE GOING TO BE.
THEY TRY TO GET RID OF THE ETHICS COMMITTEE AND
THEN TRY TO LITERALLY REDUCE TRANSPARENCY.
ON DAY ONE.
THEY
COULD HAVE DONE IT AT SOME OTHER POINT BUT THEY WANTED TO
MAKE SURE YOU KNEW WHAT THEIR ATTITUDE WAS GOING AND.
ALL THAT TALK, AND TO BE FAIR MAYBE IT IS THE PRESIDENTIAL
CANDIDATES, ON DAY ONE I'M GOING TO DO THIS -- IN REALITY IT
TURNS OUT ON DAY ONE WE WILL SHRED THE ETHICS RULES AND MAKE
SURE YOU CAN'T SEE US.
TO BE FAIR TO TRUMP HE DID COME OUT AGAINST THE ETHICS RULES.
IT WAS TRUMP AGAINST IT.
HE SAID IT'S AN UNFAIR COMMITTEE,
AND HE SAID DON'T HAVE IT BE YOUR FIRST PRIORITY.
THAT IS A
STRONG CONDEMNATION OF THEM TRYING TO DESTROY THE COMMITTEE.
IT DOES MAKE A DIFFERENCE BECAUSE THOSE GUYS DO PAY
ATTENTION TO TRUMP, THEY ALL KISS HIS RING, SO JUST BEING
FAIR HERE.
LUCKILY THOSE ETHICS THINGS DIDN'T PASS AND I THINK
IT WAS MAINLY THE ENORMOUS OUTRAGE THAT DID THEM IN.
BUT
THIS ONE THEY APPROVED IT ALONG PARTY LINES.
WHAT IS INTERESTING
IS THAT WHEN THE DEMOCRATS WERE IN CHARGE, IF OBAMA EVER SAID,
WHICH HE NEVER DID, I ONLY WANT TO DO THIS WITH DEMOCRATS --
SOMETIMES HE WAS FORCED TO DO IT AFTER MONTHS, YEARS, OF PLEADING
WITH REPUBLICANS, PLEASE SOMEBODY SIGN ONTO OBAMACARE, I
PROMISE I WON'T USE MY SUPER MAJORITY, JUST SIGN ON --
REPUBLICANS WERE LIKE, NO, WE WILL NEVER SIGN ON. AND EVERY
DAY IN THE PRESS YOU WOULD HEAR THE DEMOCRATS, THIS DOESN'T
COUNT, THEY DID IT ALONG PARTY LINES, IT IS NOT BIPARTISAN.
THEY RAN ROUGHSHOD OVER THE PROCESS, THEY ARE TERRIBLE, I
CAN'T BELIEVE IT, WHY WON'T DEMOCRATS BE BIPARTISAN?
REPUBLICANS DON'T EVEN BOTHER, AND THE MEDIA NEVER EVEN NOTES
IT.
A FLEETING SENTENCE, IT WAS ALL ALONG PARTY LINES, ALL
REPUBLICANS, NO DEMOCRATS, BUT THERE IS NO OUTRAGE, NO SECOND
SENTENCE WHERE THEY SAY THAT DOESN'T SEEM BIPARTISAN, WHY
DON'T REPUBLICANS DRINK TEA OR PLAY GOLF WITH DEMOCRATS?
NO,
ONCE REPUBLICANS ARE IN CHARGE THEY ARE LIKE, DEMOCRATS?
BIPARTISAN?
WE DON'T NEED YOU, LOSERS.
WE ARE DONE WITH YOU, WE WILL PASS EVERYTHING WITH JUST
OUR VOTES AND THE PRESS WILL GO ALONG, THEY WON'T EVEN NOTE IT.
WE ON THE OTHER HAND ARE GOING TO BREAK DOWN MULTIPLE
RULES CHANGES ON THIS SHOW AFTER DOING SO YESTERDAY AS WELL.
WITH THIS PARTICULAR ONE, SHUTTING DOWN CAMERAS, THIS IS
AFTER OF COURSE WHEN REPUBLICANS SHUT DOWN THE HOUSE CAMERAS THAT
WERE FILMING WHAT WAS GOING ON WITH THE ANTI-GUN PROTESTS,
WHERE DEMOCRATS SAID WE ARE GOING TO SIT HERE UNTIL THEY DO
SOMETHING WITH GUN CONTROL, AT LEAST SOMETHING WITH BACKGROUND
CHECKS.
PAUL RYAN SHUT DOWN THAT FEED.
OKAY, SO IS THAT GOING TO
BE NO UNLAWFUL, FOR THE LEADER TO SHUTDOWN THE CAMERA SO WE CAN
SEE WHAT HAPPENING?
I DON'T THINK SO.
AND FINALLY ON THIS TOPIC, REMEMBER ONE OF THE THINGS YOU
WOULD HAVE CAUGHT WITH THOSE CELL PHONES BACK IN THE DAY WAS
JOHN BOEHNER, WHO USED TO BE SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE, BEFORE HE
WAS SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE ONCE GOT IN A LITTLE BIT OF TROUBLE
-- NOT ANY ETHICS VIOLATIONS OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT, BECAUSE
EVERYONE IS SO USED TO IT -- IT WAS A LITTLE EMBARRASSING
BECAUSE THEY CAUGHT HIM LITERALLY GIVING OUT CHECKS FROM
THE TOBACCO LOBBY ON THE FLOOR OF THE HOUSE AS THEY WERE ABOUT
TO VOTE ON TOBACCO LEGISLATION.
SO HE JUST PHYSICALLY WOULD BE
LITERALLY BRIBING THEM.
NOW IT'S A LEGAL BRIBE IN THIS INSANE
WORLD WE LIVE IN, YOU ARE GOING TO VOTE WITH TOBACCO BECAUSE
HERE IS $10,000 FOR YOU.
CONGRESSMAN X, HERE IS 5000 FOR
YOU.
HE IS NOT THE LOBBYIST, HE WAS A REPUBLICAN HOUSE MEMBER,
BUT HE WORKS FOR THE LOBBYISTS, THAT IS WHO JOHN BOEHNER IS,
THAT'S WHO THE REPUBLICAN PARTY IS, THEY WORK FOR THE LOBBYISTS.
THAT'S WHY THEY DON'T WANT YOU TO SEE WHAT IS HAPPENING INSIDE
THE HOUSE, BECAUSE IF YOU SAW IT
YOU WOULD BE OUTRAGED.

Germany: 'We want measured immigration' - CSU leader calls for migrant cap - Duration: 1:40.
We want to contribute in all the committees that are taking place
so that the society, the democratic society in Germany, is united once again
This country is polarised and divided
It is always the same
If something is being suggested by Bavaria it is always rejected at first
The day after the attack on Berlin I stood by my opinion that we need to adjust security and migration matters
Adjust does not mean turn things upside down
However it is my responsibility to determine how much immigration we can handle in the country
so that integration is successful
We do not want to cut ourselves off
We want measured immigration
That's the point of the cap
Here in Bavaria we do everything in a very humane and Christian way

how to get more of what you do want in
life and less of what you don't want

can get these videos on a regular basis
ever been engaging in some sort of
behavior or activity and suddenly you
feel bad and you don't even know why or
maybe you do know why maybe you realize
you've violated your morals or ethics or
your values so what is this about what
happens through life experience we have
reference experiences we create what we
call a feedback system and this is
mainly developed quite well in childhood
because we're constantly being
disciplined by parents by authority
figures by this our school by our
society when we do something wrong and
we don't align with the values are the
ethics or morals of the system that were
in when I say system referring to that
could be your family system your
societal system the school system
whatever system you're in when we get
reprimanded we are taught to reflect on
what we did and don't do it again
well what happens is we create this
feedback system we start engaging in a
certain behavior and suddenly go oh no
that's not what we're supposed to do or
we're thinking of engaging in a certain
type of behavior and something gets
triggered and we say I'm not supposed to
do that it usually comes in as a feeling
that is the trained in feedback system
that says doing that behavior miss
aligns with the values the ethics of
morals so don't do it then it's
interesting how it comes up as a feeling
unfortunately this doesn't work very
well
moving into the future and getting what
you want it's very good at helping you
avoid what you don't want it's very good
at helping you stay in line so to speak
and we do this with ourselves because we
sort of tearing ourselves we have our
own values our own morals our own ethics
that are independent
of the system that we're in whatever it
could be a work system that you know
your career whatever you're in you just
maybe you who you are you have certain
values and when you violate one of those
values are you violate one of your own
morals you feel bad but we feel bad
because we have a commitment to that
value we have a commitment to those
morals and when we don't have to an
alignment with them we naturally don't
feel good about that and that's a good
thing we need a feedback system but we
also need is a good feed forward system
and unfortunately we don't usually
cultivate and develop one of these very
well and you can see this in everyday
media society people are more motivated
by fear most of the time they're
motivated by incentives and positive
action are rewards they're more
motivated by what they don't want a good
feed forward system is when you're
acting in alignment with your morals or
ethics and your values
it feels good and so you continue to act
in that way and the more you act in that
way in alignment with your values morals
and ethics the better it feels and
increases feedback or rather feed
forward loop of feeling good and acting
and moving in that direction
unfortunately a lot of us we're okay
with being somewhere in the middle where
we're okay with not advancing so much
and feeling so good but we're really
concerned about feeling bad you don't
want to feel bad it's because we haven't
cultivated a really good feed-forward
system now one of the things that we can
teach our kids whether you're a teacher
or a parent and you can go back and
retrain yourself for this is a lot of
times when we reprimand kids are we were
reprimanded when we were kids we weren't
taught a feed-forward system we weren't
taught well okay we know the behavior
not were not supposed to do what is the
behavior that we should do and what are
three possible options for that likely
options options that i will actually act
on so this is great with kids
when you have to reprimand them and say
okay you know this is what you did this
what was wrong this is what not to do
again and then ask the kids to use their
creativity
to create three new possible options of
ways of being behaving acting that would
fulfill the values and morals that got
violated so we can do this in ourselves
especially when we do something we get
that feeling go oh no this is not good
i'm not doing what I'm supposed to be
doing or we think about doing something
we don't know that's that doesn't align
with my values instead of just doing
nothing we can then decide okay well
what are those values necessarily let's
think about what those are one of those
morals and how can I act what are three
possible options of ways that I can act
and behave that would align with those
values and actually fulfill those values
and it's important to have three
possible options because one option is
not really an option it's not really a
choice to is really a dilemma
it's still not much of a choice 3 gives
you real choice impossibility and you
can do more than that you don't have to
stop to stop at 3 i'm just saying at
least three so give yourself three
possible options of how you want to be
in the world so when you think about
what you're not supposed to do and most
of us do focus on this we're always
focusing on oh well you know better than
I do that or better avoid that I don't
want to feel that way so I want to avoid
doing all that and what happens is their
mind is really focused on the feedback
system we're really focused on what we
don't want what we're trying to avoid
and this often has the reaction of
creating more of what we don't want
because we're constantly trying to avoid
what we don't want that's where our
focus goes and moving into the future
moving into new situations we are living
in a mindset of avoidance rather than
moving toward what it is that we want so
we called we need to cultivate this
could feed forward system so i can chunk
things down in my life into different
areas and different major life context
like my career my family my home life my
hobbies would my friends my my social
group
what are my values in each one of these
situations and what are three possible
ways that I could act behave or engage
that fulfills these values rather than
constantly thinking oh and work I
shouldn't do this or shouldn't do that
or with
friends I shouldn't do this should do
that well what should you do what are
your values there that can guide your
behavior and when you rehearse those in
your mind or when you think about those
options and those possibilities and
those choices you are going to move in
that direction naturally you're going to
find yourself creating more of what you
want in life rather than what you don't
want to find yourself in one of the
situations where you're feeling bad and
you're not sure why or maybe you do what
I know why you violated one of your
values or violent violated one of your
morals or ethics take a moment stop what
you're doing take a moment to think
about that
learn the lesson that's there there's a
lesson to be learned there so don't skip
over that part and you know suddenly
shifted into positive thinking we want
to learn what ever that lesson was so we
don't repeat the mistake and then start
thinking okay well how do i want to act
rather than the way that I know I don't
want to act how do i want to act who do
what want to be in this situation and
that will elicit your value then once
you know what their values are then what
behavior or what activity or what could
you do in that situation that will
fulfill that value in that context and
create a feed-forward system for the
future so that as you go into the future
into this situation you are going to act
and behave and be the person who you
want to be rather than the person you
don't want to be been behaving and
acting in ways worried that that you
don't want or that you want to avoid
give this a try

I want the best thing for my son, no matter what - Duration: 1:52.
Adoption's not that common anymore, maybe because people are opting to keep
their children, perhaps, more. Maybe they're trying to endure hardships.
Normally the standard line, I guess, is obviously we want to give children every
opportunity to actually live with their biological parents. And I think a lot of
people...like Nolan's birth mother never told her family that she was pregnant
and told me. It was considered a red flag adoption because at any moment, if she
were to tell her parents, who lived in Mexicali, then she was going to keep
the kid. She was going to keep...at any moment that could happen.
And you understand that would be good for him, being with family, that aspect.
You can't say, "Well, that's a bad idea," because if he was with a family that
wanted him, then that's great.
It's a good question, why isn't it more popular? I think...I don't know.
I think because people are, most of the time, they're having their own children
and keeping them even if they maybe shouldn't be. Maybe their financial
situation enables...is too much of a hardship to actually...they still try and
you want them to try as long as it's healthy for the child. That's really
what a lot of times I think it really has to be about, is what's best for the child,
and whatever that is, that's what I want. I just want whatever's best for my son,
and whatever that is...

LFP 061 9 Steps to Becoming the Flutist You Want to Be | Learn Flute Online Video Podcast - Duration: 9:12.
Hello and welcome to the Learn Flute Podcast.
I'm Rebecca Fuller, the expert and instructor of the Learn Flute Online dot com memberships
and online flute-learning programs.
And on today's podcast we'll be starting a series of three episodes which will take
us through nine different extremely helpful - that's 9 steps to becoming the flutist
YOU want to be.
Stick around- this is gonna be good.
Hi, and again welcome welcome to this episode where
we get to go through some more mind set stuff to really help you become the musician you
want to be.
You know, it's one thing to own a flute and some sheet music, and it's a completely
another thing to actually understand and have the knowledge, education, and motivation to
use it all properly so that you can become the best version of yourself you can be.
I always say that I really enjoy talking mind-set because it's kind of the 'other side'
of learning that I feel like a lot of teachers forget to talk about.
For example, I had a few teachers in my day, and I'll never forget how one of them would
sit on a chair in the corner and listen to me play the whole lesson long - she never
actually did any instructing.
She'd either say good or bad and then I'd play the next one.
Yah-... that really happened to me.
Once I had the privilege of studying with a quote real teacher, my eyes were opened
to a whole new world of possibilities- and my mind-set changed completely.
I wanted to be just as motivating to others as the greatest of instructors were to me.
So, take advantage of this - I'm doing it all for you!
So today we're going to start with the first three of my little list of steps to becoming
the flutist you want to be, and I'll start by letting you know that these aren't in
any particular order - no trait or skill is necessarily more important than any of the
others.
So with that - let's get started!
Number one is to focus on steadily improving.
I think that a lot of people nowadays are looking for a fast fix or a magic pill in
order to get to the successful stage in light speed time.
Well, in the music world- especially for those learning how to play an instrument, it just
doesn't happen by itself.
The knowledge doesn't just jump into your body overnight.
Haha I have told several of my students that perhaps they could put their sheet music under
their pillow at night and then they'd wake up in the morning having learned it all through
osmosis.
I WISH!
Haha the only way to get your body to become fluent in the movements, tone and technique
skills is to take what is presented- in the proper order to learn in, and to really do
it… do it yourself all the time, each day.
Luck for you that you have a perfect plan all set up for you- Now, as you listen to
this podcast, you can evaluate where you are and where you'd like to be, and then you
can make sure you get yourself into the membership are of the lessons at Learn Flute online dot
com and FOCUS on steadily improving.
You can do it!
I know you can because I've done it, and I've set up the steps for you- and it works-
I have many, many others who have followed, listened, and worked towards it .. and achieved
the success they were looking for.
So, with that- let's remember that number one for this episode of the nine steps to
becoming the flutist you want to be is to really keep front and center that you just
need to strive for steady improvement.
And, now let's move on to number two!
Which is to remember your why more often.
Why did you start playing the flute initially?
Why did you pick the flute in particular?
There are many other instruments out there - why the flute?
If you've been a regular listener of these podcasts you'll maybe remember back in oh,
episode number forty two I think that we talked about what your inspiration was when you
began your desire to pick up the flute and learn to play well.
So, this step is very similar to that.
The coolest part of learning how to play well, is when you get to the stage where you realize
you are on your way!
It could be that first time you feel a complete connection to a certain piece, or you actually
stop to listen to yourself one day and realize that you sound pretty good and that it 'feels'
good also.
That's a cool moment because it obviously has been your goal list from the very beginning.
I honestly don't think anyone gets all set up to learn to play an instrument with the
goal of never actually sounding good or knowing how to play the music they intend to.
It's just not how we work.
We always intend on having the results we want.
So, good thing for you that I have the exact steps you need to go through to get there.
You'll find them in the membership area of the particular level you're working through
- and, you can ask me all sort of questions there.
So, just to recap today so far, number one was to focus on steadily improving, and number
two is to remember your 'why' so you can stay motivated and keep that front and center.
Okay- moving on to the last one for today, and that's number three - which is always
find joy in the learning process.
For those of you who are ahem, a little bit impatient, I completely understand!
What's going to be the focus of the next minute or two of this episode is that we all
always need to remember that the journey IS part of the success.
Yup- if we get stuck thinking that we have to get to a certain stage or be able to play
a certain piece on our flute, we'll not actually ever reach potential- at all- because
I've learned this over my years of playing and teaching… we never actually reach it.
Music is a never ending loop of awesomeness.
Progress never ends.
And, I'm one hundred percent positive that if you found the oldest professional in the
world right now and asked him or her if they ever felt like they were done learning, growing,
or perfecting their skill - I'm positive that they would say no.
There's always something to try and do better.
So, it's time we all just unbunch our pants and relax so that we can really enjoy the
journey.
It's so much fun to watch ourselves progress and learn.
Remember your first day on the flute??
Boy, I do for sure.
And, I have come a loooong way since then.
Haven't you?
The line of progression just keeps moving on, and once we start to get a little kick
out of the learning journey, we're well on our way to having a good time with this
instrument.
Well, that does it for today's episode.
We'll explore more of these steps in the next one.
But, let's just quickly re-state each one so that in case you want to take notes on
a perfect little yellow sticky note and place it on your kitchen cupboards, haha you can
do that and start to remember that it's a lot about the mind set as well.
So number one was to focus on steadily improving, number two was to remember your why, and number
three was to learn to get a kick out of the learning journey.
Enjoy this - it's cool!
Have a beautiful week- I'll see you in a lesson soon, and we'll catch up in the next
episode later.
Bye now!
