Hi there smart drivers Rick with Smart Drive
Test talking to you today about
centering your vehicle in the lane and
keeping your vehicle in the lane when
you're making turn. I had a comment from
Eryn and she wanted me to give you
some information about how to center the
vehicle the lane and keep it in the lane
when she was making turns. Now first thing
going to tell you is raise your vision
up in other words look farther down the
road it's one of the five tenets of the
Smith space Christian system and i'll
put a link down in the description there
to the space Christian system that you
can look at yes video is dated and it's
in black and white but the information
presented is still relevant the only
thing that's not relevant to the horn
honking it's no longer a form of
communication most of the time for
talking in the form of aggression and

farther down the road when you're making
turns pick out landmarks farther down
the road that will help you to navigate
through the turns as well as the sharp
of the turn the slower you're going to
have to go because the slower you go
with any vehicle sharp return the faster
you go the less sharp turns
so on a sharp corner sharp turn you have
to slow down and if you slow down as
well not only will the vehicle turn
sharper but it allows you better control
of the vehicle because you're going at a
slower speed so what we're going to do

down the traffic is straight so i know i
can take out that trap like for that
traffic weight and vehicle centered in
the lane in saline and again looked down
at that vehicle and drive towards that
vehicle in the distance again all of
this will help you to enter the vehicle
in the lane and I saw the tires we can

look over to the intersection on this
direction over here and i can see the
object marker sign on the traffic island
and I need to go on to the right side of
the object marker sighs my landmark
returning last year and most of the time
of the complex intersections
you're gonna find your traffic island
you're going to find an object Parker

sharper corners you have to reduce your
speed to get around the corner and to
stay in the lane that you need to stay

I want to go into the left hand lane the

object mark design using it as a
landmark I'm actually looking forward
now I take out the land landmark in on
the left-hand side you can see the steel
can hear that i'm not going very fast
going less than
about 15 slowdown in order to my vehicle
into the lane that I wanted to go into
which was into the left hand lane
looking farther down the road to where I
want the vehicle two goals coming up and
starting at the intersection and the
light is about to go green because the
advanced green white and the vehicle is

stopped now again I'm going down the

down farther kilometers an hour drive in

just a quick check to ensure that you
are in fact centered in the lane when
you're turning to keep your vehicle
position in the lane and move from the
left lane to lane into turning last or
moving from the right lane to the right
lane when you're turning right
obviously it's sharp of the curve slower
you're going to have to go because the
sharp of the vehicle turns as you're
going slower and again when you turn
right or left look for landmarks before
you start turning that way you know that
you're going to be able to navigate
around the corner and keep those
landmarks and use those landmarks to
move around the corner and keep your
vehicle in the link on most left-hand
turns at complex intersections is going
to be a traffic island and on the end of
the traffic government is going to be an
object marker sign he's an object marker
sign to get yourself around the
left-hand turn and into the left hand
lane because that's for the purposes of
a road test question for my truck
