Cole returned to English football last month when agreeing a short-term deal with Derby

The former England left-back had been plying his trade in the MLS. Cole agreed to join former Chelsea team-mate Frank Lampard at Derby and made his second appearance off the bench today

And the Champions League winner wasted little time making an impact on English football once again as he headed home for Derby in their FA Cup clash at Brighton today

But it was what Cole did after the goal that will have delighted Rams fans the most

The former Arsenal defender headed home at the back post with just nine minutes remaining at the Amex Stadium

Derby County were 2-0 down at the time and chasing the game. But Cole refused to celebrate his goal until a team-mate had grabbed the ball from the net and delivered it back to the centre-circle

Derby laboured to secure an equaliser after Cole's goal and eventually slipped out of the FA Cup for this season, losing 2-1 on the south coast

Not that manager Lampard will be too perturbed about dropping cup games from his schedule

Derby are chasing promotion this season and sit seventh in the Championship. Lampard has overseen a strong first half to the campaign and signed Cole last month to boost his side's defensive options

As for Brighton, manager Chris Houghton is delighted to have made it into the quarter-finals

"Overall I am very happy, but we are through and that is the most important thing," he said

"We made hard work of it in the end. We were good in the first-half and should have made more of those opportunities

"I knew the squad is stronger than last season, we have got good competition for places

We have had a bad week with minor injuries, made a bit weaker going into game. Hope Locadia's injury is not too bad, it didn't look good

"You can always dream [about winning the cup]. The reality is it is normally one of the top six that wins the competition

For the likes of ourselves it is about going as far as we can. To get to quarter-finals is a big thing for the club

"We are having a difficult time in the Premier League, that has seen us drop a bit from a comfortable position

We need all the positivity from today."

Chelsea vs Manchester United: What to expect from Monday night's FA Cup clash - Duration: 4:16.

Manchester United's trip to holders Chelsea is the standout tie in the fifth round of this season's FA Cup

Stamford Bridge has proved to be an unhappy hunting ground for the Red Devils, who are without a win at Chelsea in nine games since they won 3-2 in the Premier League in October 2012

Since then, the Blues have beaten United seven times and drawn the other two in west London

With so many Premier League sides no longer involved in the competition, the winner of this game will fancy their chances of reaching the FA final at Wembley on May 18

We take a close look at both teams ahead of the tie. Both teams to score  Chelsea have yet to concede a goal in this season's FA Cup after beating Nottingham Forest 2-0 and Sheffield Wednesday 3-0

Maurizio Sarri's defence will be challenged more by United than what the two Championship sides could offer in attack

After beating Reading 2-0 at Old Trafford in the third round, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side went to the Emirates Stadium and beat Arsenal 3-1

United have scored in all 18 away games they have played this season in all competitions, while Chelsea have scored in 18 of their 22 matches at home

When United went to Stamford Bridge earlier this season in the Premier League, the game finished 2-2 which is why we think both teams will score in this match

Extra time to be played  A change to the rules this season means all ties in the fifth round and onwards will be decided without the need for a replay, so extra time and penalties are a possibility

Both Chelsea and United have won 15 of their 26 league games this season and with so little between the two sides, we think extra time will be needed to determine which club has a quarter-final to look forward to next month

Four of Chelsea's five league draws this season have come at Stamford Bridge, including the 2-2 draw on October 20 with United who were then managed by Jose Mourinho

Antonio Rudiger gave the Blues the lead before two goals from Anthony Martial gave the visitors a 2-1 advantage

However, Ross Barkley popped up to score an equaliser in the sixth minute of injury time and secure a point for Sarri's side

There was nothing between the two sides that day and this tie could be the same, which is why extra time might be required

Higuain to be anytime scorer  Gonzalo Higuain made his Chelsea debut in the last round when the Blues beat the Owls 3-0

The 31-year-old turned down Willian's offer to take the penalty awarded to his side that gave the home side the lead midway through the first half

He opened his account for the Blues with two goals in their 5-0 home win over Huddersfield in the Premier League, but they remain the only goals he has scored in four games

An unused substitute in Thursday's Europa League win at Malmo, the Argentina forward will be fresh to face United and he will be fancied to get among the goals once again

What is Kubernetes? One of its inventors explains - Duration: 1:32.

To understand kubernetes first you have to understand why everyone got so

excited about docker in containers and the key insight there is that docker and

the technologies that docker built upon allowed people to take a program that

they wanted to run on a serving computer a server package that up in a way that I

can run on your laptop it could run in a test environment or it could run in your

production environment with very few changes and with a high degree of

predictability once you have that building block of being able to run a

particular program in a reliable way on a computer the next level up and this is

where orchestration and kubernetes comes in is figuring out an automating which

computer do I want to run this program on so it's not just running a container

on a con on this particular computer it's about find the right computer to

run this container on once you have that primitive then you can start scaling

these things out so instead of running one instance of a container you can

easily run ten or a hundred instances of a container along the way as we built

all this automation you start seeing really big benefits around workflow so

now we can not only have have a more efficient an automated way to deploy

this stuff but that actually changes the way people start thinking about

deploying building and operating software

Liverpool player ratings: The FOUR out of 10 flop, what do Salah, Mane and Firmino get? - Duration: 6:17.

Allison - 8/10 It's been a really solid debut season in the Premier League from Alisson

He's been at the heart of helping Liverpool become the toughest backline in the division

He's made a number of match-winning saves, most notably against Napoli when he denied Arkadiusz Milik in the dying embers of their Champions League group stage showdown at Anfield

Andrew Robertson - 9/10 It's hard to argue against that Robertson has been the best left-back in the league this season

He has more assists than any other Premier League defender this campaign and is turning in top performances week in, week out

Virgil van Dijk - 9/10 Van Dijk has marshalled the Reds backline and has transformed their defensive record since arriving from Southampton

A natural born leader who is already a fan's favourite on Merseyside.Joe Gomez - 7/10 Joe Gomez was enjoying a stellar season before suffering a fracture to his lower leg at Burnley in December

He became first choice alongside Van Dijk ahead of Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip and Jurgen Klopp will be hoping to have him back fit for the run-in

Dejan Lovren - 6/10 Although Lovren has improved, he has struggled to stay fit for a consistent run of games in the team

He has been sidelined since January with a hamstring problem but still has value in the squad

Joel Matip - 6/10 Doesn't look the most comfortable on the ball but has been a steady option when called upon

Trent Alexander-Arnold - 7/10 It's easy to forget that Alexander-Arnold is just 20-years-old

He's been dearly missed by the Reds since injuring his knee at Brighton last month and is slowly developing into a dead-ball specialist

James Milner - 7/10 Milner has been his usual reliable, versatile self. He started the season exceptionally but has lost his place in the side at times

Has filled in at right back in recent weeks.Naby Keita - 4/10 Despite his best performance in a Liverpool shirt yet vs Bournemouth, Keita has not been a shadow of the £58million signing from RB Leipzig

Klopp is now giving him a run of games in the side in hope that he can play his way into form

Fabinho - 6/10 There's definitely more to come from Fabinho. He's had to bide his time to get into the first eleven but he's now proving his worth in both midfield and defence

Could be set for a big second half of the season.Jordan Henderson - 6/10 It's been another mediocre season from Henderson so far but he remains one of the leaders in this squad

Yet again he has struggled to remain fit which has prohibited him from putting together a long run of games in the side

Xherdan Shaqiri - 7/10 It's been tough for Shaqiri seeing as whenever he seems to play he performs, his brace from the bench against Manchester United perhaps his best moment yet since arriving

But whenever Klopp wants to field a solid midfield three, the former Stoke man often drops out of the line up meaning he can count himself rather unlucky

Georginio Wijnaldum - 9/10 Wijnaldum has been the unsung hero of Liverpool's title charge

When Fabinho and Keita arrived last summer, he looked as if he'd be the man to drop out of the midfield

But the Dutchman has been one of the first names on the team sheet so far this season, reinventing himself in a deeper midfield role

Adam Lallana - 3/10 It's a shame to see Lallana's Liverpool career in its current state

A player with undeniable talent, but he can't seem to stay fit for more than a few weeks and has only made three starts in the Premier League all season

Sadio Mane - 8/10 It's been another explosive campaign from Mane who has really stepped up in recent weeks

He's scored in four consecutive Premier League matches and now has twelve goals for the season

Roberto Firmino - 7/10 A hat-trick against Arsenal was the only real samba magic we've seen from Firmino in front of goal but he continues to work selflessly for the team

He's irreplaceable in this side and if he can find his scoring touch he could give Liverpool another edge in the months to come

Mohamed Salah - 8/10 Salah tops the Premier League goalscoring charts with Sergio Aguero yet he still hasn't hit the levels that he reached last season

There's still time and he looks like the man who could lead Liverpool to a famous first ever Premier League title

Job System from the ground up to interact very well with the core engine.

Multithreading is splitting code to be processed by different processors at various stages

of execution.

To boil it down further, it allows your code to take advantage of multicore cpus.

Because of this, you can obtain high-performance benefits.

That extends to significant gains in frame rate.

The job system has three very distinct interfaces that you can inherit from, IJob, IJobParallelFor

and IJobParallelForTransform.

IJob is for scheduling a single job that runs in parallel to other jobs and the main thread.

The Execute method does not need any parameters for this version.

IJobParallelFor allows you to perform the same independent operation for each element

of a native container or for a fixed number of iterations.

Requires the Execute Method to have a parameter of type int and number of iterations.

IJobParallelForTransform allows you to schedule jobs related to transforms.

The execute method is unique to the Job System and is the method that is called when the

job is scheduled to run.

There are two main attributes that you can use, ReadOnly and WriteOnly.

ReadOnly allows for multiple jobs to read the data in parallel, meaning that the job

doesn't have to be complete before another job can read the data it contains.

WriteOnly allows for multiple jobs to write the data in parallel.

In other words, the jobs don't have to be complete before another job has the ability

to write to that data.

The Job System also has its own type that are used over what you are used to.

It has what is called a Native Container and there are five types that reside within the

Native Container that you can use.

• NativeArray, which is a fixed size array.

• NativeList, which is a resizable native array

• NativeHashMap, which is a key value pair • NativeMultiHashMap, which allows for multiple

values per key in a key value pair • NativeQueue, which is a first in, first

out queue system

You can think of each of these as the standard C#versions to simplify it.

So a NativeArray is just an arraylist, A NativeList is just a list, NativeHashMap is a HashMap,

A NativeMultiHashMap is just a HashMap that has been extended to have more than one value

per key, and NativeQueue is a queue.

Each of these take a generic type parameter.

Which means you can use a MonoBehaviour class as a type for it, Vector values and well,

you get the idea.

When creating a native container, it needs to have the type of memory allocation you

need for it specified.

This allows for you to tailor the allocation for the best performance that suits the use

case scenario.

There are three allocator types for native container memory allocation and release.

• Allocator.Temp – has the fastest allocation and is for allocations with a lifespan of

one frame or fewer.

(Note: You should not pass native container allocations using Temp to jobs)

• Allocator.TempJob is a slower allocation than Temp but faster than Persistent.

This one is used for allocations within a lifespan of four frames and is thread safe.

(Note: Most small jobs use this Native Container allocation type.)

• Allocator.Persistent is the slowest allocation but can last as long as you need it to, which

includes throughout the application's lifetime.

(Note: Persistent should not be used in performance critical operations).

Fun fact, Allocator.Persistent happens to be a wrapper for a direct malloc call in C.

All allocators must be closed by using a dispose call manually.

The anatomy of a Job is as followed.

You first create a job by creating a struct that inherits from IJob or IJobParallelFor.

The reason for the struct and not a class is due to the Job System requires a non nullable

value type to be used.

It should also be noted that a Job has no native concept of a frame.

Define your public variables with any attributes you want for it.

Inside of the public void Execute method, call any methods you have defined that needs

to be directly called.

In a Monobehaviour class, make sure to instantiate a new instance of your Job that you created.

Allocate, schedule, complete and dispose of your job in a method that is called by the

Update method.

Now, the Job System is useful in many situations.

You can generate and process point clouds, check for rays intersecting with bounds, accelerate

a very large number of objects at the same time, change the vertices of a mesh every

frame, change the vertices and normal of a mesh every frame, and other types of algorithms.

Obviously, you can do more than just algorithms with the Job system, but algorithms tend to

be the most performance intensive and the general cause of slowdowns in games.

The same goes for graphics processing, and you can use the Job System to handle that

as well.

There is one gotcha that you need to take into account for any time you deal with multithreading.

You must account for the number of threads you have active at any given time and how

fast the threads can be processed.

You must also take into consideration the user's device and how many threads they

have at their disposal to avoid performance hits.

Let's look at a few examples of processors and their thread counts.

• Ryzen 3 1200 has 4 cores and 4 threads.

• Ryzen 5 1600 has 6 cores and 12 threads.

• Ryzen 7 2700 has 8 cores and 16 threads.

• Intel I3 8100 has 4 cores and 4 threads.

• Intel I5 8400 has 6 cores and 6 threads.

• Intel I7 7700k has 4 cores and 8 threads.

• Intel I9 7900X has 10 cores and 20 threads.

It should also be noted that this does not take the GPU into account as they already

run in parallel and require a different philosophy when working with rendering and computation

with them.

With that being said, you should now know what the Job System is, how it works and how

to use it (in theory).

The next video will cover implementing the Job System.

What is Diamond FLUORESCENCE | Jill Maurer - Duration: 1:50.

This is Jill Maurer with Your Jewelry Minute, and today I'm answering the question, "What

is fluorescence?".

I'm usually asked this when somebody has a diamond certificate in front of them, and

they say my diamond ... you know it says my diamond fluoresces.

Something is said to fluoresce light when it emits light.

So if you think about a firefly, or there are certain microbes in water that will fluoresce.

They will emit light.

And a diamond ... some diamonds do emit light.

Usually they emit blue light and usually it is an ultraviolet light.

And remember that ultraviolet light does make up sunlight so they can fluoresce blue in

sunlight.

And this may be noted on your appraisal.

It doesn't really affect value unless it fluoresces quite a bit and then then it may, but usually

it's just used as an identifying factor.

Because even though if you put it under ultraviolet light, you can see it fluoresce blue, normally

in sunlight we can't really see that blue fluorescence.

And there have been people who claim that oh if it fluoresces blue, it'll cut out a

little bit of the yellow tinge, but the GIA actually did a study on that.

They did it with regular people and people who claimed you know that they could see this.

And they put a bunch of diamonds out and asked them what they saw.

And usually the people who did see fluorescence argued about what they were seeing.

So the GIA pretty much determined that we don't really see it, and it doesn't really

affect the value of your diamond.

It can help identify your diamond thought, and that is why it is on your certificate.

So that is fluorescence as it relates to jewelry.

This has been Your Jewelry Minute.

If you have a question for me just let me know in the comments below.

Until next time!

What is: T-Express - Everland Resort - Duration: 4:38.

T-Express is a wooden roller coaster, located at the Everland Resort, in South Korea.

Interestingly, the ride opened to the public as South Korea's first wooden roller coaster,

and currently remains the only one of its kind even to this day.

On top of this, T-Express is the rare Intamin prefabricated coaster model, one of only four

built worldwide.

The ride opened to the public on the 14th of March 2008 at the cost of roughly 36 billion

won, equivalent to 32 Million USD in today's money.

Its name originates from the sponsor of the attraction, T World, South Korea's largest

wireless telecommunications operator.

Upon first impressions, T-Express looks menacing in every way.

The ride's huge scale and high speed are partially possible due to the complex nature

of the track design.

Interestingly, the attractions manufacturer, Intamin, produces pre-cut wooden track sections

using precise laser equipment offsite, allowing for them to be put together on location in

a short amount of time.

The accurate nature of the tracks design allows for a smoother and more stable experience.

A ride on T-Express begins with guests boarding one of three vehicles, each of which are made

up of six cars, seating riders in 3 rows of 2.

This leads to a total of 36 visitors per train.

Once boarded, guests are dispatched out of the station building, undergoing a small left

hand turn, and a straight piece of track, before joining the lift hill.

The trains climb the huge 56m (184ft) high lift-hill, ascending the nearby hillside.

Interestingly, similar to other rides produced by the same company, T-Express utilises a

cable lift, allowing for guests to climb to the attractions highest point at a faster

rate.

Once the trains have crested the hill, they navigate a 180 degree right hand turn towards

the attractions huge 46m (151ft) tall drop.

Guests dive down the first decent, at a maximum vertical angle of 77 degrees, and quickly

reach the top speed of 104km/h (65mph).

Before they have time to breathe, visitors are instantly subject to a huge airtime hill,

followed by an intense long right hand turn.

The trains traverse a quick transition into a long left hand turn, followed by a small

hill into the attractions mid-course brake run.

A few seconds later guests once again plummet towards the ground, before navigating an airtime

hill, followed by a heavily banked right hand turn.

Guests enter another airtime hill, followed by a second right hand turn, into a series

of two further airtime hills.

At this point the layout is somewhat repetitive.

The trains navigate a mixture of near 180 degree turns, and airtime hills, looping around

the attractions footprint.

Each repetition sees guests come closer to the ground, retaining their high speed.

Riders finally emerge from the structure navigating two airtime hills, a slight turn, a further

airtime hill, and a long left hand turn into the attractions final brake run.

Throughout the entire thrilling ride, guests navigate 1651m (5417ft) of track in approximately

94 seconds of ride time.

This is calculated from the moment the train leaves the lift hill, to when it enters the

incredibly long final brake run.

Because each train has a large capacity, the ride has a theoretical throughput of approximately

1500 riders per hour.

Interestingly, the 2nd half of attraction's layout is surprisingly similar, if not identical

to another coaster of the same model, Balder at Liseberg in Sweden.

After T-Express completes the mid-course brake run, both rides feature a repetitive layout

reliant on a mixture of airtime hills and highly banked turns.

This has allowed the attraction to be the longest of its kind by a significant margin.

Because of the rides impressive size, T-Express has been well received.

Everland Resort saw a significant increase of visitors within the young adult and teenage

markets, quantifying the success of the ride.

Furthermore, it has performed very well in many respectable wooden roller coaster polls,

often being ranked as one of the top 5 wooden coasters worldwide.

Despite their good reputations, Intamin's prefabricated coaster model hasn't seen

any new additions since the debut of T-Express in 2008.

This leads to the question; would you like to see more parks invest in large scale Intamin

wooden coasters in the future?

What Happened To The Boondocks? - Duration: 12:14.

- [TooBased] Hey what's up it's TooBased.

Just like the title says, we're gonna take a look at The Boondocks series to find out what

happened to it.

So let's get the video started, roll the intro.

- [Huey Voiceover] The life of a black hero has never been for the meek of heart.

You will not get out of here alive, do you hear me?

- The Boondocks was created by Aaron McGruder.

McGruder has been drawing on-and-off throughout his childhood, but it wasn't until high school

that he started to take drawing more seriously.

He decided around that time that he wanted to draw superhero comics, but found the task

to be more difficult than he had imagined.

He worked on drawing superhero comics for a couple of years.

He even took a year off college to do so, putting in 14 hours a day submitting his work

to comic book companies, but making a superhero comic didn't really get him anywhere.

In between working on his comic submissions, he would make little comic strips in his leisure

time to relax.

These comic strips later would be known as The Boondocks.

The Boondocks first premiered on hitlist dot com as a welcome in 1996.

The Boondocks was also in the Diamondback newspaper at the University of Maryland for

a short time.

It also appeared in The Source, which is a hip-hop magazine, for a short while.

Eventually The Boondocks became a syndicated comic strip when McGruder signed with the

Universal Press Syndicate in 1999.

How McGruder was able to get his comic strip syndicated is that he met the Universal Press

Vice President by accident at a NBJ convention in Chicago.

He sat down with her as soon as he saw her name tag.

McGruder gave the Vice President a copy of his script, and after she read his script

she went back to the Syndicate and pushed them to get him a contract.

The premise of the comic strip was about social satire, race, and politics in pop culture.

Usually seen in the eyes of elementary school students, mainly Huey, but there's also other

characters, but I'll talk about them later.

The comic strip had the third largest launch in comic strip history after Calvin and Hobbes

and For Better or For Worse.

In an interview, McGruder explained, when he launched the comic strip he didn't really

catch any flak for it, mainly because all the negative feedback went to the newspaper

company instead, and most of his reader feedback sent to his email address was positive.

The comic strip follows a couple of characters.

Huey and Riley, of course, but Jasmine also one of the main characters instead of having

a supporting role like in the TV series.

And there's also another character by the name of Caesar who was introduced as Hey's

best friend.

I'll revisit this part later, mainly because there's other characters I want to talk about,

so we'll come back to this.

In 2003, McGruder signed with Sony Entertainment to write a TV pilot for The Boondocks.

The goal was to have a TV date around 2004 or 2005.

Originally McGruder started working on The Boondocks TV pilot for Fox, but for some unknown

reason that deal fell through.

McGruder even said making that Fox pilot made him feel like a zombie when he was working

on it.

Eventually McGruder got a call from Mike Lazzo, who was one of the executives for Adult Swim.

He contacted McGruder and asked to look at the pilot that he made, and of course we all

know what happened next.

- Yo.

- Excuse me, everyone, I have a brief announcement to make.

Jesus was black, Ronald Reagan was the devil, and the government is lyin' about 9/11.

- No.

- He really did it, he did it.

- [TooBased] The Boondocks premiered on Adult Swim on November 6th, 2005.

The TV series followed the Freeman family, Huey, Riley, and Robert Freeman, with Huey

and Riley both being voiced by Regina King, and Robert being voiced by John Witherspoon.

The Freemans moved to the suburbs of Woodcrest in order to start a new and better life.

The TV series was inspired by Japanese animation.

The ones that were listed by McGruder was Cowboy Bebop, Speed Race, and Samurai Champloo.

When the show premiered, it had a million and a half viewers that night, which is something

Adult Swim never experienced before, especially with a premiere.

It was pretty much safe to say that Adult Swim had a hit on their hands.

Episodes were so popular at that time on the internet, most of the topics trending worldwide

on Twitter were related to The Boondocks.

The series was pretty popular, but also pretty expensive.

The Boondocks was one of the most expensive shows that Adult Swim produced, spending 400

thousand dollars an episode mainly because of the marketing and licensing fees.

Season one is probably my favorite season overall.

I like how this guy attacked Eat Dirt in one scene of the episode, but in the next shot

he's on his side threatening Gangstalicious.

- [Reporter] Tensions exploded at an awards show last year, when a chair was thrown at

Eat Dirt.

- Look here man, a lot of these niggas tryin' to have what we didn't have, but they ain't

done what we didn't done to have what we didn't had, you know what I'm sayin', especially

you 'Licious.

You ain't done nothin'.

- What.

- [TooBased] There are a few differences from the comic strip and the TV series.

McGruder did this on purpose so that the comic strip and the show could be kept separate

and not depend on one another.

Because of this, a couple of characters didn't show up into the TV series, like Caesar.

I mean there was a rumor that he was going to be in season three, being voiced by Kali

Troy but that didn't happen.

Some characters from the comics got a redesign, and some relationships were changed between

characters.

Like how Riley, who has a low haircut in the comic strip but has braids in the TV series.

Cindy also went through a couple of changes, she wore her hair in a standard ponytail in

the comic strip and acted kinda ditzy, whereas in the TV series she has her hair in a braid

and talks in slang.

- This is our block, now you gonna get down, or you gonna lay down, and if they be like,

uh, I don't know, let me think about it, we pull out the roscoe and we be like bla-kow,

bla-kow.

- [TooBased] And she's best friends with Jasmine in the comic strip, and she hung out more

with Huey than she did with Riley, mainly because they were in the same class, but in

the TV version Cindy barely interacted with Huey and only associated with Jasmine during

the fundraising episode.

The show had a lot of surprise voice guests, like Lil Wayne, Katt Williams, Snoop Dogg,

Adam West, Charlie Murphey, even Sway.

Tara Strong's there too, but, come on, she's on everything.

Oh, and fun fact, Thugnificent was originally supposed to be voiced by Ludacris, but he

backed out at the last minute.

So Carl Jones who was a producer on the show voiced him instead.

- [Carl] When we created this character Thugnificent, originally that was supposed to be Ludacris.

He had this deal with Ludacris.

So he said he would do the show, and he would play Thugnificent if I drew his album cover.

- [Interviewer] Mhmm.

- [Carl] So I was like, cool, so you know I started working on some ideas for the album

cover, and then every time I tried to get in touch with him I could never reach him

because I was trying to get some feedback.

- [Interviewer] Mhmm.

- So time passed, time passed, time passed.

Finally I did get him on the phone, except I had to block my number to get him.

So I got him on the phone-- and he was like yo, who dis, and I was like, yo this is Carl

from The Boondocks.

He was like, well yo, you know, normally I don't answer the phone if I don't see a number

I recognize.

I'm like, but you did this time?

He was like, he said, yeah but what you want.

I said, well I'm trying to do this cover or whatever, and he was like, well I ain't got

time right now.

So he got off the phone, and the cover never got done.

- [Interviewer] Hmm.

- [Carl] So what happened was, when it was time for him to record, he was like, I'm not

gonna do the part because y'all never did my album cover.

I'm like, nigga we been trying to get in touch with you for four months, you know.

So anyways, he backed out at the last second.

- [Interviewer] Mhmm.

- [Carl] So, what happened is, I temped the voice in the animatics just so that the animators

could have something to work with.

- [Interviewer] Mhmm.

- [Carl] And because Aaron really liked it and thought it worked, I just ended up doing

it.

You know, we didn't have any time.

- [TooBased] In 2007, McGruder won a Peabody award for the episode Return of the King.

This is when season two was just about to wrap up with a third season in the works and

being made.

People were raving about the episodes, giving them positive reviews, but as you know, good

things don't last.

Entering the third season, the writing felt a little off.

Honestly, season three was okay to me, I probably only liked three episodes out of the whole

season.

Well, at least Tom got some character development.

- You can't have it.

- [TooBased] Towards the end of season three, Carl Jones and Aaron McGruder had a small

falling out, mainly because Carl Jones had to take some time away from The Boondocks

to go and work on Black Dynamite, and I guess McGruder wasn't too pleased.

- [Carl] Okay, I left after the third season, right?

- [Interviewer] Mhmm.

- [Carl] Part of the reason why I left is because I was developing a few other things

towards the tail end of that season.

I wasn't going to leave, I was just developing other stuff, but Aaron wasn't really too cool

about the fact that I was developing other things like Black Dynamite.

- [Interviewer] Mhmm.

- [Carl] So, he and I, we had a big fallout over that.

- [Interviewer] Mmm.

- [Carl] To the point where he didn't want me on the show anymore, because, you know,

it was a real, I don't even want to say family.

It was like a gang, really.

You know, you rockin' with Boondocks or you don't rock with nothing else.

- [Interviewer] Yeah.

- [Carl] At the same time, and I didn't quite understand that, so that's where we had a

big misunderstanding.

And then from there, it was, you know, I went on to do Black Dynamite and he was trying

to get another season going, season four you know it took forever.

- [Interviewer] Mhmm.

- [Carl] I remember at one point, we tried to work something out, like I was willing

to come back to the show and we were gonna try to work things out and he still, you know,

he didn't want it to happen.

- [TooBased] After season three ended, Aaron McGruder no longer worked on the show.

According to Carl Jones, Sony said McGruder wrote too slow and the show was falling behind

production.

Apparently Sony ordered 15 to 20 episodes for season four of The Boondocks, but only

got ten episodes.

- [Carl] Sony.

- [Interviewer] Mmm.

- [Carl] Is gonna cut the bleeding off.

- [Interviewer] Yeah.

- [Carl] So to my knowledge, because I wasn't actually there during the fourth season, but

to my knowledge the show was falling way behind production and eventually they had to you

know cut their losses because they couldn't-- I think they did like a 15 or 20 episode order

or something like that and they--

- [Interviewer] Mhmm.

- [Carl] And I think they delivered 10 I believe.

- So Aaron McGruder's so sick mad at Sony Pictures.

- Yeah, yeah.

- He sold his rights to TB to Sony, and they wanted to go three more years after this year.

- Yeah.

- But they wanted him to do three shows a week, he said, I can't write that fast.

They fired him and got some poot-butts to write.

- Oh.

- So he quit, and uh, we done.

- [TooBased] Sony even tried to get rid of the original voice cast but they couldn't

find anyone who had a close enough voice to match the original cast, the only person that

got replaced was Jasmine's voice actress.

- Get somebody to do my voices, all our voices, get the, out of here, people said, I can't

do no damn Spoon voice.

- [TooBased] Season four was kinda weird.

For some reason, Granddad became the main focus of that season.

And why bring Stinkmeaner back as a clone?

When the Freemans fought against Stinkmeaner's friends that was a perfect end to that trilogy.

Why ruin it by bringing him back as a clone?

- Do you understand what I've just told you?

- I'm a clone.

- Yes, created at this secret and highly illegal underground human cloning facility.

- Why am I so old?

- What?

- If you cloned me when you say you did, shouldn't I still be a little kid?

- [TooBased] Season four was definitely the most weakest season, the show didn't get picked

up for a season five.

Adult Swim just aired the reruns from time to time, until they eventually just took it

off the schedule altogether.

Right now Carl Jones is working on a show for Adult Swim called Lazor Wulf.

Regina King who voices Huey and Riley is still doing her acting thing for shows like the

Watchmen series.

As for John Witherspoon...

- Bang, bang, bang, bang.

- [TooBased] Well, he's being John Witherspoon.

As for Aaron McGruder, it seems that he wants to make a Boondocks app game, but doesn't

know what apps will let him get away with.

But judging from the comic strip he just released, it's safe to say that The Boondocks will be

back in some form of media.

So, that's it for this video.

This video kinda took me a while to research, but I had a lot of fun making it.

Plus it kinda gave me an excuse to re-watch The Boondocks episodes.

What Man Utd transfer target Jadon Sancho thinks after Borussia Dortmund receive approach - Duration: 2:25.

As things stand, United's attack appears a little one-dimensional. Anthony Martial and Alexis Sanchez both prefer to play on the left wing, while Marcus Rashford is also capable of playing there

But, on the right, United are a little short. Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard have both been deployed their this season, despite both instead craving to play down the middle

As a result, a blockbuster move for Sancho is now being eyed.  The Sun say Sancho is happy in Germany, where he has scored eight goals and contributed 10 assists across all competitions

But they claim the 18-year-old could find a move to United too tough to turn down

The Red Devils have struggled when it comes to attacking signings in recent times

Sanchez is stuck in a rut and toiled during Tuesday's chastening 2-0 Champions League defeat to PSG

Angel Di Maria, who starred for the Ligue 1 giants that night, toiled during his own time at United

And attackers Radamel Falcao and Henrikh Mkhitaryan also failed to live up to expectations throughout their spells in the Premier League

Solskjaer, meanwhile, recently hinted United would overhaul their squad this summer in order to close the gap on Europe's elite

"It's a reality check," he said after the PSG defeat. "You can see the strength they have when they put those players in as you talk about but that's the level we want to get to, and we are looking to strengthen the squad

"And then again we have so many young players to take a step up for next season." United are next in action against Chelsea on Monday (7

Judge limits what Roger Stone can say about his case around courthouse - Duration: 4:45.

The federal judge overseeing the prosecution of longtime Donald Trump advisor Roger Stone is barring him from making statements on the courthouse steps that might prejudice a jury or witness in his case

The order, by udge Amy Berman Jackson, further gags lawyers on both sides from statements that might impact the case

"Counsel for the parties and the witnesses must refrain from making statements to the media or in public settings that pose a substantial likelihood of material prejudice to this case," wrote Judge Amy Berman Jackson, who is overseeing the case,' she wrote

But in the case of Stone, who has been ubiquitous in the media since his indictment, her order was narrower, prohibiting him from making his case to the public or the media while on the courthouse steps or nearby

All parties, including Stone and potential witnesses, must refrain from certain statements about the case when they 'are entering or exiting the courthouse, or they are within the immediate vicinity of the courthouse

' The prohibition applies to statements to the media or the public that 'pose a substantial likelihood of material prejudice to this case or intended to influence any juror, potential juror, judge, witness or court officer or interfere with the administration of justice

' Stone, who has blasted the FBI and the Mueller probe since his indictment, while hawking his book and wearing 'Roger Stone Did Nothing Wrong' t-shirts, will now have be conscious of where he is when he speaks

As if anticipating a potential gag order, Stone gave a series of TV interviews immediately following his arrest, and took a somewhat lower profile after his court hearing in Washington where a potential gag was discussed

Stone has made efforts to bash the prosecutors who charged him, railing against 'Gestapo' tactics in his arrest, which included use of armed agents, and according to Stone 'frog men' positioned in a canal behind his Ft

Lauderdale home.He has not said publicly that he is seeking a pardon from President Trump, saying the only person he is seeking relief for is Marcus Garvey

Although the judge mentioned the potential for prejudice – influencing a jury that might hear the case – Stone had other reasons to talk

He regularly complains about his mounting legal debts, and relies on his attacks on adversaries and the mainstream media to raise funds

Since those statements have been in TV interviews and online appearances, they do not appear to be impacted by the current order – although it could be modified later

The order stated there will be no additional resrtictions 'at this time.' In a recent appearances on 'Infowars,' he called CNN host Anna Navarro, 'porquita,' blasted CNN host Don Lemon, and railed against 'leftist retards

' He is in a prolonged public spat with Mueller witness Jerome Corsi over the chain of events and WikiLeaks contacts during the campaign

Stone is accused of witness tampering by launching online threats against comedian Randy Credico, including threatening his dog, according to the government

What Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's top scout reported back to Man Utd boss after watching Kalidou Koulibaly - Duration: 1:46.

Manchester United have been keeping a close eye on Kalidou Koulibaly ahead of a mooted

£90million summer move for the centre-back. The Napoli defender has been on the Red Devils'

radar since Jose Mourinho was in charge, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer recently sent a scout

to watch him in action.

United scout Jim Lawlor flew out to Italy to get a closer look at the centre-back in

Napoli's Serie A clash with Fiorentina, which finished 0-0.

Koulibaly played the entire 90 minutes of the fixture alongside Nikola Maksimovic and

helped young keeper Alex Meret - who has recently ousted David Ospina between the sticks - keep

a clean sheet. And according to The Sun, Lawlor had nothing

but positive things to say about the defender's performance when he reported back to Solskjaer.

Koulibaly recently spoke out on his future and admitted he is flattered by the interest

being shown in him by some of Europe's biggest clubs.

"Since I'm here, I always try to grow with Napoli. I have a lot of motivation to go on

and I want to keep doing this. "I am pleased that many teams follow me, but

I want to demonstrate on the field that I am at the level of the greatest and I want

to show it in the future."

What Is Gain Staging And How To Do It (Mixing Tutorial) - Duration: 4:35.

If you're unsure about what gain staging is or why you should be doing it,

this tutorial will teach you how to use gain staging to get a better mix.

Stick around, because I'm going to be talking about what you can do in your DAW,

as well as your plugins to properly set up gain staging.

[What is gain staging and how to do it]

Hey everyone, Jake from Transverse Audio here.

This process really is just setting levels so nothing is distorting on its own

or when summed together in the master.

And it's also done to make it easier to adjust levels in the mixer, which I'll explain why later on.

Okay, the main objective of gain staging is to ensure that nothing is clipping,

which would be reaching a decibel level of anything 0 dB or higher.

Pretty much all audio software (including plugins and DAWs) will let you know that your

signal is clipping when you start to see red on a decibel meter.

But, it's not always this obvious, you might be just Barely skimming 0 dB,

and that can be enough to cause distortion.

A quick tip, it's okay to move your fader past the 0 dB marker but what should not

is the actual signal volume.

And when dealing with many tracks or sources of audio (including mix buses),

the decibel level of all of these will add up and can cause distortion that might not be noticeable on their own

but can be more obvious when they combine into the master track.

That is the reason you don't want to clip.

Distortion can ruin a really good mix and it's best to do it right away

as it can be hard to figure out why your mix doesn't sound good later on.

Not to mention, you might be making adjustments or adding in effects

that won't sound the same if you gain stage after the fact.

This is because if a signal is clipping before it hits the mixer, it will go into the effect plugins,

distorted.

When it comes to recording live though, it is critical that this is the first thing you do

as it kind of sets it in stone once it's recorded.

Which is why it's not as important to gain stage samples or audio files.

much different than the flexible nature of digital audio.

Now, you might be wondering what a good decibel level is to set everything to.

Although there isn't one answer to this, I can give you a range to aim for.

The actual value doesn't matter too much, as long as it's well below 0 dB

and is consistent throughout your project.

It is, however, common for people to go for anything from -10 to -18 dB.

This is so you have a lot of headroom for when all of the track's decibel levels combine in the master track.

And you should try to have your master decibel level at least -3 or lower.

If you can, -6.

Some people even go as low as -10.

This is to leave space for mastering your track.

And some mastering engineers (or software) will require that it's at a certain decibel level.

Okay, time to go over where you need to be setting up your levels to properly gain stage.

Starting from the source, most virtual instruments will come with a master output level

and when they do, you don't need to worry about pre-gain

and can even slam it to 100 if you properly gain stage in the plugin.

Like I said before, you should bring it down to -10 to -18 dB.

An important thing to remember is that the faders in your mixing console change the volume

after the signal has gone through the effect plugins.

This is why you need to pay attention to "pre-gain" or "clip-gain" in the case of audio files

to ensure the sound isn't distorting before the effects are applied.

In FL Studio, the pre-gain is called "channel-volume" and the name can vary across different DAWs.

A good place to have your pre-gain at, is again, around -10 to -18 dB.

And going lower than this level won't make your mix sound better,

it's just a safe range to stick to.

If you find you are pulling a fader down too far, you can just add a plugin that controls gain

to compensate for the level it's down to so you can bring it back to 0.

And there you go, the end result should leave your mixer faders as high

(or as close to 0 dB) as possible and will make mixing much easier.

This is because the change in the decibel level vs how much you move the fader

increases substantially the further you drop it down.

And if you look closely, you'll notice how much this really starts to get out of control.

This can make it very hard to fine-tune your levels, as small changes can dramatically

impact the volume the further down your faders are.

The best way to make sure you're not clipping after that is to generally mix at a low level

and if it's too quiet for you to hear, don't use your master fader to turn the volume up.

Instead, you can use the knob on your speakers, headphones, or audio interface.

I hope this tutorial on what gain staging is helped you understand how to use it

to create a better mix.
