There are some cauliflowers!

WD40!

Hey folks, great you're watching again!

Last time you've seen we took the engine out of our tank

We're going to take it apart now

To see in what shape it is

It has been sitting outside for quite a while

It can be a pile of rust on the inside

This is a Norinco engine

That's a Chinese company which builds tanks

It's a V12 diesel, 38,8 liter

It has 580hp

This engine is an exact copy of a V54

That's a Russian engine

It was used for the T54 tank

This engine is derived from an airplane engine

This engine is made out of aluminium for the major part

It has steel cylinder liners

Let's look inside and see how it is

But before we can start that, we need a support to place it on

Look underneath!

This makes us happy

That's oil, no water and fishes

There wasn't any water in the crankcase

it would come out first

And with the disassembly of the fuel lines

clear diesel came out

it migh be not too bad

against the water

this way we won't spray all that rubbish into the engine

A gnawed manifold

Look at that

We can't make anything out of that

That looks different at once

That's also removed

Undo it!

here it comes

it works

Another one

See that, we're getting some clearance

What does that mean?

That means those pistons aren't stuck

the entire cylinder block goes up

and those pistons won't go up, they stay in position

it still has some life left

But we want to remove the head only

We want to keep the cylinder block in place for now

This doesn't work

Those studs..

We're working on it for quite a while now

It looks like the studs have been rusted

and therefore it won't come off

But now it have to

It's almost there!

The head off!

Yes yes, here it comes

Ohh, I've seen it!

Better start crying

A pile of rust?

I want to peek through that gap too!

No, can't see it!

It contains some cauliflowers!

it's not that bad

that's the piston

These aren't bad

Overhere it's just fine

It's like new overthere

Now hammer it back on

This is how those Chinese put it together I think

It just slides back in

then we should be able to lift it off

Here it comes

Further up

You need to go down

Not a trace of rust

Here a little bit

one small dot

Overhere too

If this one goes down

No way!

But this will turn

this isn't stuck

Aluminium

Like this

Looks good

This one is the worst, these valves were open

This makes me happy, or not!?

Look at this

We couldn't hope for this

or course we did

We hoped for it

But when you're reasonable

you should expect it was full of rust

if you saw how much water was on those valves

The more we take off, the better it starts to look

Look at this, another part

this looks bad..

Oh no

We expected this side to be the bad one

that side was under the cover

that one was covered

It looks like more water entered there

Got it

Empty again..

WD40!

Everything will get allright with this engine

We needed a bath of that and submerge it

He likes this

Those heads won't come off easily

All because of those stupid studs

Look

They all start corroding

So they growed and now they're stuck in those holes

hard to disassemble

It's loose

Yeah, lift it

Aye!

No fishes

This is like I thought the entire engine would look like

I thought all of those would look like that

Mmm.. that looks delicious

This one is all gnawed

This is not good

Those cylinders aren't good

on the outside most of the parts are rotten

all tubes are rotten

I think it's time for another engine

Maybe one of our viewers has a spare engine

Now it will come off

Mechanics are fine, nothing wrong with that

We have a few cylinders which are rotten

We will need other sleeves for those

Let's take the pistons off

They're mounted this way;

There are some friction bearings or pads

those slide against the cylinder wall

They keep the piston rod in place

So if we take those out, we should be able

to press the rod out

Let's make a special tool for it

That's a nice ashtray

The last one!

A bomb, I guess

Oil filter

Oh yeah, that's also possible

It's obvious this engine is economically total loss

repairing this is more expensive

than purchasing a good used engine

But for the video it's more interesting to fix this engine

We have to see if we can find cheap parts

and see what we're going to do with it

Okay, that's it

The engine is disassembled

we've seen what's wrong with it, enough work..

it will get alright

Gijs is done with his intership

Thanks for your help

You too, I made you something

to thank you for the intership

Look at this, nice!

Mastermilo Logo! This goes in the bar

Thanks dude!

You're welcome

and thank you for watching and see you next time!
