News24 - Man Utd fans don't want Juan Mata contract - Duration: 1:40.Manchester United reportedly seem set to tie Juan Mata down to a new contract, which has angered a large number of their fans
The Times claim the Spanish playmaker is one of three players who looks likely to put pen to paper on a new deal in the coming weeks, but most Red Devils supporters seem to want him gone
MORE: Manchester United could offload duo to fund potential £280m summer transfer window spending spree Mata has never really looked the world class creator he was at former club Chelsea, despite some solid displays down the years for United
And now at the age of 30, it seems Mata is past his best at this level and is perhaps not the kind of player Man Utd should be building around
The Daily Mirror link MUFC with some big names ahead of this summer, with Benfica wonderkid Joao Felix one potential player mentioned as a possible Mata replacement
Fans would surely rather see young blood like that coming in instead of keeping hold of Mata, with these reactions summing up the general feeling about today's emerging news…

E: Hey (x2)
A: Do you choose who you fall in love with?
M: Who was this guy last night? L: A friend.
M: I mean, you seemed close, that's all.
L: Well, not really, no.
E: I thought it would only be the two of us.
E: Didn't you?
L: Yeah.
L: So you can already picture yourself with another girl, then?
E: Yeah, sure.
E: Not necessarily a girl, though.
L: What did you think the first time you saw me in the common room?
E: I told myself:"He has to be afraid of the dark."
L: I'm not fucking afraid of the dark!
E: I bumped into you and your friends. You, you didn't see me.
E: But I did.
E: I only saw you, actually.

Well, I'll show you so here we have a velcro pouch and this is the sound that gives you away in the tactical situation
And so he taught me a
A method of opening the velcro so that if you do it, right? No one will hear the velcro
Okay, and it's real fast and so the velcro,
I got it on as best as I can get it on and this is what he taught me
Hate when people underestimate a my fastness I'm fast. I'm so fast. You couldn't even comprehend how fast I am?

voice because however Pharaoh's? odds he says like I want to touch your tits and
I think you know my dick is too small and stuff like that he says stuff like
that on air because she's being completely honest and that honesty gives
other people a sense of connection so despite the fact that he's sort of like
a you know a misogynist who's a little you know kind of emotionally dead he's
really easy to listen to
well it's fine fine it gives a little background we don't have any we don't
Psytrance
as our background is concerned you know topics like current events with politics
right because even though politics and religion is always those two subjects no
one no one is supposed to talk about obviously you know there's so much Iran
right now in our country in the world at large that we'd be remiss if that wasn't
included in this channel but also honest in regard to otherworldly type
experiences quantum physics multidimensionality and yes that's a
word we are you content earlier no universe wasn't I was making it no you
said you wanted to be that corner quantum interdimensionality which
sounds like like I'm really big on semantics and I'm kind of like a
technical kind of asshole because I like technical things so I wouldn't make out
of that word was it just like some sort of New Age word because you know she
grew up in California so you get that kind of New Age Ocean Wisdom
everything right with the W but the word is actually if you break it that is
exactly what we're trying to say so that was actually a perfect choice for a word
that was a perfect use of vocabulary so yeah just you know things that are
considered strange or weird you know into some just straight-up nuts and we
have a bunch of nuts yeah you know some pretty weird things have I'll just say
that I've experienced some strange things that if I had not experienced
them myself I I would have been skeptical about it but that's the thing
not conjecture not propaganda
obvious
because we have enough propaganda in our world based on our personal experiences
whether it has to do with politics you know whether it has to do with with
otherworldly paranormal strange experiences metaphysics quantum physics
you know whatever it is this is going to be a vast array of subjects but the
common denominator is honesty just you know no matter how you know crazy it
sounds (Mind Correspondence Vibration) we're just gonna be honest because like he mentioned before
(Polarity) I ran for Congress and when your that's the fucked up thing about
about this political system because it would be better if people were just raw
and real and you know flawed because we're all flawed were all human beings
Rhythm
but there were certain things I couldn't say (Cause and Effect) I couldn't totally I mean I
did anyway and that's why (Generation) the Democrat Party I had run initially as a
Democrat never voted before 2016 because I always knew politics was full of shit
and the people that were supposedly representing us for sure weren't that
was the last thing that they were looking out for so yeah I mean these
subjects we could we could just have shows themselves but we're just we're
just kind of laying out what what we're even here for what what we're gonna
endeavor to do and hopefully there'll be some out there that can identify benefit

Day Tripper
Introduction to Polarity
Imperial Sin
tomorrow evening or we can start getting into things you know if if if not we're
gonna have to continue to get high to fight them back which I am willing to
sacrifice I'm willing to make that sacrifice like fake Kamala Harris right
the world needs more joy yeah and to park like way before it entered the
timestream new dog Snoop and Tupac is crossing my arms with it go go ahead
anyway it's really she said in an interview that you know she did inhale
she has tried pot in college she did inhale and she was listening to snoop
and Tupac which she should have researched that because
was a bold-faced lie she was in college years before either of them ever
recorded any music so that just is an example of you know the prepackaged
establishment pic that they're gonna push and it's it's you know I don't know
it's a sham you know just like award shows everything is always predetermined
and it's it's really just you know the type of reality that hopefully people
watching this I know we are that we're committed and that one died for the
truth which is something cool because you can't stop someone like that I mean
does surprise you they're like ninjas because they're not afraid because we've
all before yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah like I said I'm waiting for that bomb to come
get me come on you know but anyway anyway I want to go ahead and close
everything off but there is a point that I need to make those a longer picture
that I need to show and I've got to go through these other things to get there
so these will the other things I want to talk about so we might just say a word
about them as we go by just to finish it out really quick and get to that thing
that needs to be said so Ruth Bader Ginsberg here dead robot clone I mean
that's all it needs to be said right and then we've got a Pelosi threat they just
said that she came back like yes oh yeah no that's yeah so that's a white reason
I put it down so she came back after two months of no proof of life and I don't
know what the hell that means but I know that the last time they said she showed
up in to play CNN I don't understand is it a PSYOP to show us how stupid you're
trying to be I mean is there a picture I'm looking for the hi Gillian dialect
cuz it's so stupid it's gotta be on purpose they had a fucking microphone on
her jacket when she did not speak again tonight at the play right yeah just
fucking luck just give it a once-over genius you know so that came from
another picture you can fucking ten I he'd go tonight reverse image oh that's
where that image came from of her in the play it's so bad just like that just
like that chick guy that's with it and that Jesse mullet thing
that's a whole other thing but I mean it's like reality is like out the door
um Pelosi is saying that she's going to
call a national emergency to take away everybody's guns because she can to get
back at Trump I mean that seems like a nightmare reality but could she really
be this petty she really could be so the last thing that they want to do because
then you have to vote a Republican you have to know not just that no and it
doesn't matter I mean you know at the very top right and left wings or alien
dialect yeah the same bird and that's you so here's we're not
talking about like the people you know on whether it's left or right you know
because that's part of the plan to everybody divided keep it binary but the
thing is is those that are controlling everything they've already you know
they're ten steps ahead they create you know someone that really is representing
their interest but to the masses voices all of the disenfranchised people you
know gives them a voice and so so that's where I guess their their their intent
they're like those disenfranchised people need a sheepdog so that's where
all the cia's were your toe Rogen's talking to Jack Dorsey that fuck
I fucking hate Jack Dorsey the fact that oh rogon did not cuz he had to tell him
yeah yeah well fuck him okay I would fight him I don't care if he was a boxer
cuz hi I long for the kickboxing champ and Aikido champion guy and the Aikido
champion guy so Nicolas Renee is so you know I might just redirect all that rage
back on him so maybe you could try even though he's built like a Brixton anyway
he didn't try it all with Jack Dorsey being that tough he did he just he
rolled over and checked Dorsey has been has been you know bit Orwellian about
Twitter the fact that he wouldn't say anything though she wouldn't shut up
it's like Jordan Peterson he's in the Trilateral Commission and he talks about
not having any sort of identity is your identity except you have to also accept
this um you know Israel agenda identity because that's not an identity that's an
e semitism and you can't do that if you don't accept everything that Israel is
doing so you get these people to the center and to say like we're woke up to
the joke like Bernie Sanders and stuff like that because they know everyone's
saying we're woke up to the junk we need to sell a co-product to those people you
know a coke just for them with their name on it you know we'll call it Bernie
Sanders we'll call it Joe Rogan we'll call it you know trilateral commission
Peterson Juden Peterson um so anyway okay Jack and Mark suck it is a fact
jack and mark mark was part of the SIOP and Paulo out though we're fucking
Palantir came out of this motherfucker came right of the CIA well that's that's
the all-seeing eye that's watching you where you are right now with satellites
with ground correcting telemetry that is in the room with you we might have an
Allen tear from the Lord of the Rings yeah that's where they got the Nanak
Saruman's I will burn through your chest because I am evil and I sacrifice to
Molech oh and then got all these tunnels under la I'm gonna connect a good
anonymous video that goes with this the first half of it is all like just law
because it's the actual thing that happened after that is really good
breakdown with computer simulations and all sorts of things they're basically
ties you there's guns and trial trafficking going to LA and there is
guns coming from the ATF there's child trafficking coming up from Mexico along
with other stuff and then there's the Chinese mafia over there over at the
Long Beach port which Dianne Feinstein's sold to them and over there at the Long
Beach port you also have the end of those other tunnel systems there's a
tunnel system laid under there from Native Americans and then there's this
whole thing some people have even called it like an Atlantis thing you got
something underground tunnels underneath that we're not allowed to go to because
I'm gonna have its plunker and I have a but we tried to go to some of these
entrance points you can't get in but so there's tunnels it for the government
but and I we don't know what's in there but there's stuff going on in California
it's pretty bad and white hat stop it
uh there was a biological bomb that was going to go off at Wells Fargo and
carrying carpet down I probably pronounced that wrong I'm a
reader you know I don't talk to people about carpet oh yeah
yeah well it's carpet carpet no yeah well case I got those you got those
hazmat suits you know they get the biological weapon to get servers of the
guys to load the building and the guy also in Wells Fargo's funding child
trafficking just like they funded drugs back in you know the whole CIA Tom
Cruise is the cocaine man sort of thing all that stuff like really happened and
Wells Fargo was all involved in that too but tell them in regards to what what
the intentions well he doesn't the intention was to
stop it they got the Intel child trafficking network that's actually
going down this is something that we start off as Bernie supporters being
fooled by the by the monkey man saying something was in between and but we mean
Bernie Sanders the the CIA's monkey you know saying that it's time to stop the
the 1% for butchering the world you know and and at the same time you know he
gives like 270 million to like the DNC he freaking town any sort of arms right
before he does whatever there's your freaking socialist
revolution you know I know I'm a former delegate delegate so you know I met over
there protesting the fact that you know Hillary Clinton was there with more RNC
donors than the RNC had you know their donors she had more Republican donors
than the Republicans could yeah but it's not I don't want to be like you know
talking about this well they're just party how'd you stop setting up because
I knew there was I knew there was the Hegelian day like that they were both
playing on the same side and that's where I was protest I lose
that you know they're different and you know anything except you know window
dressing anyway Trump is actively stopping this
stuff he's not doing anything else the stuff going on in Venezuela is from
redness this yeah is redness I don't agree with him as far as that's
concerned because that's just perpetuating you know all of these
regime change waters that have nothing to do with freedom or protecting anyone
here in America it's it's just more of the same so I was disappointed in that
but but I do agree that you know he's shaking shit up for sure ya know we
followed it got John Brazil down there and you're something you were saying it
was John of God yeah yeah yeah yeah John John Johnny God I guess you know this
guy rapes like six hundred women that come forward I mean probably done shops
over down there who see who's who's like best friends with like Lady Gaga who is
uh you know the symbolism there isn't saying what she's in the Haiti thing
with everybody else who's smuggling out the Haiti children with Oprah - oh my
god there's a Bilderberger she's the great black hope like mama man they're
on this shit Obama boys fuckin picked up by the trilateral commission by its
masterminds big news of risky who's dead now but his son Ian is like dr. evil -
but of Sevigny got Obama when he was 21 you know and and that whole scene so and
that's been who's controlling the government since Carter Carter was in
there is like you know the the Democrats wet dream I always thought he was like a
man of God he is not neither were the guys who came after him was people that
ran against them long maybe got in there he was a real guy he had to be
compromised by Bush and Trump got in there who seems like kind of a wild card
yeah of course he has Mike Pence under him who's idle is Dick Cheney you know
and he's surrounded by great evil and he's not doing anything else about it so
he's not a hero he's like a double agent and he is getting the fucking
trafficking networks and the satanic child you need cabal dealt with which is
pretty heroic so he was right in that regard the flame is on and that
and that's good we haven't had heroes in a long time yeah whatever
anyway hexagons on Saturn honestly look at that shit how many actually just make
this another video well okay I just wanna get Zeus really quick it's like
the sad one takes minutes okay but real quick just like all the time you see
behind everything and everything you know like with all the Masonic stuff and
all the fucking Israel and all this stuff the stuff that's based on Saturn
you can go back to the 1400 when they're doing all the excited seals how did they
know it was a six-sided hexagon that all the seven seals are based on what is
that okay that is something and then that can feel I'm not gonna get that
well that st. Patrick at the Vikings and that's why you have the problems with
gays and Christianity I could get into that the gays Christianity is that
they're not bad that was changed here and and I know why but we could just
talk about that later I guess if you want yeah real quick I'm just really
quick going through it because I have to to gun picture real quick so I'm a dream
Walker I go to other dimensions when I'm on asleep and no I mean this that's
honestly like why would you even bring that up man like well just makes that a
separate show you're trying to cramp everything in this is okay actually
these will be this will be a teaser for what we're a teaser is like two minutes
because this is what we're talking about sound like I said the Khazar Ian's they
overthrew Russia now all the Christian oil is so okay
packed with you know play wants to like reptilian verbally Mongols dragons right
oh they can tune in tomorrow I will just and then or the quote from John F
Kennedy which is uh forgive your enemies but never forget their names I'm going
to we'll go back we were going to talk about Sam we were going to talk about
and those are going to talk about see the
branch go we're going to talk about how the back that this river ten rivers are
putting money on the ocean okay and they're all in Africa India okay I'm
just going to pass this Venezuela stretch and here we've got severe OCD
okay so here's the first spot this is yes this is what I want to make it say
what the songs are like autistic well just to Korea you are right look like
the autism levels which makes him brilliant in so many ways but when he
gets enough for what gender relations and he got to like he's got to finish it
without there's it so this is like feet on my shoes fifty times or something
that guy right up there which I put is logo is not true north that is what you
were told true north did they take all your
symbols like Google's Masons and all this stuff NATO took that simple that's
the swats because if they put up there which is not actually a bad symbol would
use properly but it was yeah but we use the wrong way it's actually very
dangerous go figure um yeah and that's the thing you know
other than the whole the whole Hegel thing we're all going through but I just
want to say that so I mean it's looks all Illuminati that's just more to say
like this is what truth north is not what your eyes are telling you got to
listen deeper so shouldn't we take a band-aid off the mouth well that's just
that's what's wrong to attract with dry that makes sense yeah but we could
change it no I think it's okay

Why Don't We Know This Already? - Duration: 11:27.one of the least critical aspects conveyed to the American citizens about
what President Trump has done since taking power has been his unrelenting
all-out assault against what is called the liberal world order which is a
notion that's a concept of or belief about something that is imposed on the
Western people in the aftermath of World War two that says international
relations should be organized around several guiding principles such as open
markets multilateral institutions liberal democracy and leadership by the
United States and its allies left out of this Liberal World Order notion were the
hundreds of millions of Western individuals who are forced to live under
its dictatorial rules edicts unceasing regulations and constantly soaring taxes
needed to pay for this socialist utopian dream but whom in 2016 began outright
rebelling with the British people forcing their nation to leave the
European Union who were then quickly followed by the people of the United
States placing into power President Donald Trump and that today sees Trump
and President Putin presiding over the top two economies in the world while
Trump himself has become the most popular leader in Europe whose peoples
are now erecting giant statues in his honor the first Western leader in
history to expose NATO for being the enforcement arm of the United States and
European socialist policies destroying their people's democracy was President
Trump who has repeatedly told aides that he wants to withdraw the United States
from this alliance and whose latest move to do so he accomplished this past week
by convening his own summit in Warsaw Poland to counter the Munich Security
Conference and we're vice president Mike Pence lashed
out at European socialists leaders for trying to break American sanctions
against Iran and US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo further warning them they
have to choose between America and China to any of the American citizens being
allowed to know how President Trump is battling to save his nation from this
liberal world order of socialists wanted to impose upon them by force of course
no evidence exists with it shockingly being just revealed that the entire
leftist mainstream propaganda media establishment in the United States who
gave in astonishing 2202 minutes of television news coverage to the made up
Trump Russian collusion fairytale gave us all zero minutes of coverage to the
United States Senate report showing it was all a lie followed by the CBS news
network stunningly cutting off trumps address to his nation citizens about a
national emergency he was declaring forcing their viewers to watch a game
show and Twitter who had just suspended an account simply because its user
pointed out that socialist darling US Congresswoman
Alexandria Acacio Cortes had put her boyfriend on her payroll stunningly
taking down a tweet sent by Trump to his over 58 million followers that comically
showed Democratic Party member reactions to his State of the Union speech though
the American people and citizens themselves are being kept from knowing
anything about president Trump's existential battle to save his nation
from socialistic liberal world order maniacs the same cannot be said about
the US military who this past November of 2018 watched in stunned horror as the
politically correct mandated all-female crew of the Royal Norwegian Navy the
most advanced multibillion-dollar warship KNM Helga
crashed and sunk it during a NATO exercise I bet you didn't know that that
was followed by all of the United States Army's most advanced armored Stryker
combat vehicles entering NATO service in Europe being immediately hacked and
disabled and in the United States itself today sees them being ordered by
socialist u.s. federal judges appointed by President Barack Obama to allow
non-citizens to enter military service without background checks yes you heard
that correctly as well as they're being told they can't remove from duty any
soldier having the deadly HIV virus in spite of the grave danger this poses
because of emergency battlefield blood transfusions all of those socialists
backed absurdities harken back to when the Obama regime forced their nation
soldiers to wear women's high-heeled shoes so they could experience what it
meant to be a girl so in other words ladies and gentlemen American soldiers
are forced into girl training by their politically correct socialist leaders
while Russian soldiers trained for war
just two weeks ago Germany France and the United Kingdom announced the
creation of a social financing mechanism designed to oversee a mirror image
they would replace sanctionable international painless between EU
businesses and Iran they call this team a special purpose vehicle we call it an
effort to break American sanctions against Iran murders
well that's vice-president Mike Pence and Warsaw this week calling out our
European allies several times for not withdrawing from the Iranian nuclear
deal and for continuing to do business with Tehran you know he made his first
criticism about that on Thursday then again today echoed it during a speech at
the international security conference in Munich but our European allies like
German Chancellor Angela Merkel said the deal can help countries pressure Iran
over issues that concern the u.s. such as missile development and its support
of terrorism so with the vice president's warnings
resonate joining me now is Jonathan Wachtel who had been the director of
communications and spokesperson at the United States mission to the United
Nations bottom line Jonathan our allies are allies they don't want to give up
billions of dollars in business than they do with Tehran
that's one of the key issues here Eric you hit it right on the head the other
issue is that don't forget that Angela Merkel for instance the Chancellor from
Germany she was involved in the negotiations to reach the 2015 nuclear
deal she wouldn't want to change policy against herself that doesn't make any
sense really and the others who you know are still in power over there they still
feel very strongly about the deal they there's this sense that it's better to
be engaged with the Iranians rather than to pull the plug on them because you
know the sense that maybe you can negotiate with them but let's face it
the Islamic Republic of Iran and that government has been in power for 40
years and how much does engagement you know get us here they have ballistic
missiles that some are say a violation of and Ida Nation Security Council
resolutions right now the critics say the Iranian nuclear deal will let them
have a free path of the bomb at about seven years or so can they keep the deal
as it is but then cut off the billions of dollars and trade that props up this
regime look the money really and we've seen proof from that by intelligence
sources that the money that goes to Iranians has gone to continue their
their spread of chaos and the medley the problems in Syria the problems in
Yemen funds yeah oh and all of this yes and it's problematic
uncle Oh miracle the the Chancellor of Germany did acknowledge that Iran is a
bad actor in the region I really have a hard time understanding how you can have
the philosophy 'ls so adamant about a philosophy that you're going to be able
to change the ways of a regime that's been going on for 40 years this is the
40th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution in Iran that government
there's been talking I mean even the U is involved in long term negotiations
with them that went kind of nowhere now is there behavior change hard to
hard to make that argument given given the past the past is the best predictor
of the future isn't it Eric well they've been demonstrations that are continued
on the streets of Iran 150 cities were told one of the major opponents at the
National Council of resistance of Raw and the leader of that group Marian
Roger V she has been calling for regime change points out the protests are
continuing they say they have more cells in Iran doing that and she is saying
that the European allies should put more pressure on Tehran here's what she said
in a statement the international community must recognize the right and
the aspirations of the Iranian people to topple the mullahs regime the National
Council of resistance of Iran as the alternative to this regime has declared
his program for a free Republic in Iran but what are the chances Jonathan of
that of what she calls for if the European allies are setting up a
separate system to bypass US sanctions it's really difficult to see that type
of thing happen you really need to have a united front to try to contain a
problem contain a menace just like Nazi Germany to contain Nazi Germany you
needed a united front he didn't need a Chamberlain to claim that all's okay and
then have countries invaded by a rogue force Iran has proven itself to be a bad
actor we need support not only is it problematic with our European allies the
Russians and the Chinese who were are also parties at the
negotiation were just meeting in Sochi Russia Vladimir Putin the president
there invited the Turkish president and the
Iranian president to talk about the future of the Middle East and here you
have this alternative universe in which you had the president of Iran at that
forum in Russia showing this united front against the United States and how
they were talking about how they're building the new Middle East which is a
you know let's face it is that the Middle East we really want
to see a man and at the same time they're they're claiming Turkey's
claiming air Dewan that he's gonna work out bilateral relations with Iran on
trade and also worked with the Europeans on trying to bolster their plan
meanwhile I guess at our expense and the Europeans still are addicted to the
money

A Star Is Born's Deeper Message: Don't Be "Shallow" - Duration: 19:21.[singing] "Watch as I dive in."
A Star is Born's hit song "Shallow" isn't just a catchy tune –
[singing] "In the shallow sh-ha-llow."
it's the key to the message this movie is trying to send.
The film asks what it takes to be a great artist,
and its answer?
You can't stay in the shallows, you have to go deep.
"What I believe about singing in a film is that
what you have to say is so-- so deep and so powerful
that it can't be said with just words, you have to break into song."
Bradley Cooper's directorial debut starring Lady Gaga is the fourth iteration
of this classic Hollywood tale.
You can watch The Take's previous video on how it compares to the older verisions
on our Youtube channel.
But this movie feels fresh because it achieves powerful intimacy and raw emotion
as it peers inside the most private places within the artist's heart and mind.
"How do you hear it?"
[singing] "Da da da da da da nah nah nah da da da…"
A Star is Born reminds us that, while it's easy to get cynical about the
fame game
and feed audiences what you think they want, good art has to be real.
It has to be heartfelt.
And it has to be scary for the artist who's revealing that intimate self.
Only then can it really have anything to say.
"If there's one reason we're supposed to be here
it's to say something so that people can hear it."
So here's our take on how A Star is Born uses stellar chemistry,
cinematography and of course music, to show us what it feels like
to jump in the deep end and become a star.
We might often wonder what it is that makes someone become a star,
compared to all the other would-be's out there who,
objectively, seem to be just as good
singers, actors or dancers.
"She said that that's what star quality was,
that little something extra.
Well you've got it."
The movie plays with this question through Ally's dad's OBSESSION with Frank
Sinatra:
"But Frank, he'd come on stage with the blue eyes, the sharkskin suit,
the patent leather shoes... he becomes Frank Sinatra.
And everybody else, all these other guys…
that really got it, that really have it inside...
just a bunch of nobodies."
According to this movie, what really makes someone star-worthy
is having something to say and the power to say it in the way only you
can.
"Bet you f----ing everbody in this bar is talented
in one thing or another but,
having something to say and the way to say it so people listen to
it,
that's a whole other bag."
"If there's one thing th-that I hope people take from the movie it's
yeah—what is it that you want to say?
And how do I want to say it?"
This movie very authentically captures just how scary it is to do this.
Most of us can relate to Ally at the beginning of the film.
We resist that urge to go for it and sing our own song,
even if we really want to.
And sure, it would be nice if some handsome famous person came along
and immediately sensed just how special we are.
"Unless you get out there and you try to do it,
you'll never know."
But even though there's a wish-fulfillment in the way Jack sets up her huge moment—
"All you gotta do is trust me.
That's all you gotta do."
She still has to make the choice to walk out onto that stage.
In the concert scene, Ally does exactly what "Shallow"'s lyrics
say.
She jumps off the deep end.
[singing]"I'm off the deep end, watch as I dive in.
I'll never meet the ground."
This is especially scary for her because it's her first time
performing her own song.
Covering Edith Piaf was a lot safer and easier,
because she could hide behind someone else's persona.
Watching the power of Ally letting go onstage makes us understand
that this is what you have to do to be a great artist.
Go beyond the shallow or superficial, and tap into that most raw, real part of yourself.
Ally's primal scream,
[singing] "Haa-ahh-ahh-ahh-ahh."
captures that joy of truly expressing yourself --and transforming your pure feeling
into something others can perceive and enjoy.
Until this point Ally hasn't believed in herself enough
to go deep.
"I don't sing my own songs."
"Why?"
"I just—I just don't feel comfortable."
"Our movie is a 31-year old musician who hasn't made it.
She's not an ingénue.
And she's sort of relegated herself to singing someone else's song in a drag
bar."
You might say that the moment Ally really jumps in
comes sooner than the stage performance.
When she first sings to Jack in the parking lot.
"Ain't it hard keeping it so hardcore."
This seems to come out of a sudden instinct,
but how many of us could be so brave.
To sing our own song, partially made up on the spot
to one of the world's most famous musicians?
"The movie knows she's a star before she does it.
And the movie's almost searching for her.
And with this scene where she stands up and starts singing,
the camera's over her shoulder looking down at him."
Here the camera angle emphasizes that Jack is already Ally's adoring fan,
as he gazes up at her.
"You know there was all those lights behind her,
as if she's up on a huge stage at Coachella or something,
without even realizing it."
Later, as their relationship hits rough times when Jack is upset over the direction
Ally takes with her solo career, we feel for Ally.
"You're embarrassing, it's just you know--"
"I'm embarrassing?!"
He acts out in overbearing, destructive ways.
But at the same time, he's right that she's taking a shortcut
and not doing her talent justice by imitating what's popular
instead of doing the hard work of looking inward at what she
really wants to say in her music.
The movie makes us understand that if you're not *terrified*,
if it's not a *struggle*, if you're not *floored* by your own emotion,
then you're not digging deep enough.
In the final scene, Ally has to call on a strength
she didn't know she had.
"I'd like to sing it for you tonight.
And with your help, maybe I can."
In her time of the most unspeakable emotional pain,
after losing the love of her life, she has to connect with that emotion as an
artist,
instead of pushing it away or getting buried underneath it.
[singing] "Don't want to give my heart away,
to another stranger."
As she performs "I'll Never Love Again",
this is her moment of truly becoming the star.
"That's the moment the star is born.
To me the movie ends with the star being born.
Because she's finally able to be herself, and she's willing to look out to you,
the viewer, and say, 'Here I am'."
She's finally willing to go as deep as she possibly can,
and that's why she's just going to get better from this moment on.
"Ally at the end of the movie is just starting.
What she's going to create is going to be even larger
than what we've seen prior.".
Meanwhile Jack's career, and ultimately his life,
ends because he could no longer face his innermost feelings.
"I'm trying to hold it together.
I'm Jack, I'm an alcoholic."
While his connection with Ally gave him one last rush of fertility as an artist,
he's become disconnected from himself, thanks to decades of numbing himself
through his addictions, tuning out painful emotions,
and not dealing with his complex family issues.
"All Dad ever did for you is make you his f---ing drinking buddy.
And you'd be right there with him if he was still alive
and you f---ing know it."
The ringing in his ears symbolizes that.
He's been slowly losing his ability to hear the music.
"Well tinnitus can't be fixed."
"Right."
"Intimacy is uh, it's equal parts performance and proximity."
The movie's cinematography by Matthew Libatique,
is all about giving us a subjective experience.
The camera and lighting put us In Ally's and Jackson's point of view,
And even more impressively, they make us feel what the characters feel.
"The hope is that you're feeling these things
but you're not quite sure why, but it's because I'm manipulating it
through the choice of the shot."
This subjectivity is used to give us a deeper understanding of three things:
One, what it is to be a performer or celebrity.
Two, what it is to be in love.
And three, what it is to be in deep emotional pain.
First, the camera puts us in the shoes of the performer,
so in the concert scenes we're right there onstage,
not watching from the crowd.
So often music films situate us in the audience below,
looking up at musicians like distant god-like icons.
Libatique said, quote,
"The minute you get into the audience's perspective,
it becomes about the stage show and you lose a little bit
of feeling for the character."
In Jack's opening performance the lights are almost blinding.
The sound is overwhelming, and the handheld camerawork
creates a sense of frenzy.
So we understand the intensity of this experience,
but then we get to see what it's like after the performance too,
when he's suddenly alone.
"To me it's like it's sonic, and it's this cacophony of noise
where it's like pppppppfffft.
And then it's silence."
In the pivotal scene when Ally is deciding whether to
join Jack onstage to sing "Shallow," the camera stays with her
as she summons up the courage.
And as we walk out with her, we get a rush as if it's us there
in front of all those people.
This scene is exhilarating because it captures how terrifying,
surreal and fun it would be to perform your own song
in front of such a crowd.
Then when they're performing,
[singing] "I'll never hit the ground."
the visuals make us feel the way that these two artists
are so electric onstage because they see only each other.
Editor Jay Cassidy said that in this reverse two-shot, quote,
"It is as if the whole surroundings have receded,
the band, the audience, and they are alone together.
As the song ends and they come back to earth,
all she can say is 'so many people.'"
In his lighting, Libatique used the color palette
of cyan and red to connect us to the heightened beauty
of Ally's and Jack's artistic connection, the beautiful creativity they access
when they sing together.
We see these colors when they're onstage together,
as well as the first time Jack watches Ally perform,
and after Jack's suicide.
In the last scene when Ally introduces herself as,
"Ally Maine."
she's standing in a column of blue light, as if bathed in Jack's influence
and love coming down from the heavens, while she looks up as if to him.
Once Ally starts to become a solo pop star, the lighting veers into ultra-bright
but more superficial-feeling colors.
Libatique said, quote,
"I wanted everything to build to a larger-than-life feeling,
with vivid color.
She's playing in front of tens of thousands of people,
and I wanted it to be beautiful, like a drug.
Nothing could be better — but then that drug starts to wear off."
In this scene, Ally's elegant dress and the song itself
suggest that she's neither returning to her folksy beginnings with Jack
nor sticking to her pop star persona.
We're seeing a third, new style that represents her true creative personality.
The lighting echoes this – we don't get the red and blue
of her connection with Jack, nor the vivid candy pop-star colors.
Instead, the white light underscores that this is Ally at her most authentic and
mature.
Libatique said that, after Ally's drug-like pop colors,
the neutral, pure light, quote, "Represents a kind of sobriety."
The second thing the cinematography is doing is making us feel the couple's love story
from the inside.
During Ally's performance at the drag bar, the close-up where she looks right at Jack
lets us see her as he does – we feel how that look
strikes him like a lightning bolt.
When they officially meet soon after, It's like the camera just wants
to be close to Ally, mirrioring Jack's urge
to touch her and reveal her natural beauty.
"Why are you covering your eye?"
"Oh just because I don't have my eyebrow on anymore."
"Oh no no, the whole point is that I can see your face.
This first night together is played out
almost in real time.
We get to feel the way that meeting someone special
changes our sense of time; how we remember each moment
of those early interactions.
"You kind of have a real-time experience with them.
It's one full night."
"Yeah."
"In that it's really the opportunity to have a 20-minute sort of intro to them
where we can really just take moments, cause it's all about moments."
In the parking lot scene the camera stays close on them,
bringing us into the tenderness that's growing between them.
"Don't change the subject."
"I don't know what you mean."
"Nobody ever asks you about you, huh?"
Even the breeze in this scene adds a sensory element,
letting us feel the environment, and not just see it.
Finally, the third aspect of the cinematography's subjectivity,
is bringing us into the pain of Jack's personal struggles.
If we were viewing him from a distance,
it would be all to easy to dismiss him as just another
indulgent, self-destructive celebrity.
"Jackson Maine."
"I'm gonna wake up in a minute."
"That's the thing about when you get famous.
People start staying your full name."
[laughs]
"Well what do you want me…"
"I'm just Jack."
But the intimate camera makes us see him as just Jack,
never Jackson Maine.
The sound helps with this, we hear Jack's tinnitus as he does,
so we're brought into the physical experience of his pain.
To outside observers, the scene where he
drunkenly wets himself at the Grammys would be fodder for some harsh memes –
but we're so involved in the lead-up to and the aftermath of that moment
that we just feel empathy and sadness for both Jack and Ally.
[screaming] "Oh god!"
Near the end of the movie, when Jack is reeling
from his conversation with Rez,
"Just by staying married to you, she looks like a joke.
It's embarrassing."
the camera is right above him, on top of him,
visualizing his feeling that he's trapped
and can't escape the shame of his past mistakes.
[mumbling]
Most painfully of all, we're present in the lead-up
to Jack's suicide, and the excruciating purposefulness in this
scene
heightens its tragedy.
As we watch the slow build-up, we know what's going to happen
but can't stop it.
We look right into his face as he seems to mentally prepare.
This realistic, personal moment is far from the distant, cinematic drowning
scenes
in the 1937 and 1954 A Star is Born movies, which feel removed from our reality,
like something that only happens in a movie.
So throughout the film the camera, lighting and sound
help us live this story with the characters.
We feel the euphoric highs, the unbearable lows
and the final breakthrough.
One of the most rewarding parts of A Star is Born is,
of course, the music.
But these are not just song breaks; they're acting moments,
woven into the fabric of the story and revealing the characters' development
in a way that the spoken word alone couldn't.
"It's not like the movie takes a break and
all of a sudden there's a song.
It actually has everything to do with what's going on,
it's almost, it is a scene.
My favorite scene of Lady Gaga is actually, acting wise, is the final song,
because you rewatch this character going through the grieving process
through the song."
From the beginning, music is the bridge
between Ally and Jack.
"I'm falling…".
They fall in love through each other's singing –
he's captivated by her performance in the drag bar,
[shouting] "Are you crying?"
and she's intrigued by seeing him sing.
"She hears him sing this song in this drag club
and is completely moved and inspired
in a way that surprises her."
Music allows each to see deeply into the other person's heart,
so this is why they can fall in love so suddenly,
and we buy that this is a profound connection.
So on one level, the lyrics to "Shallow"
are about Ally's and Jack's relationship.
"We're far from the shallow now."
They dive headfirst into love.
The very first night they meet they skip the small talk and the games,
falling immediately into a natural connection and comfort with each other.
"That's when I came into the picture."
"Okay, the son of an 18 year old."
[laughing]
"Well she died at childbirth."
And the song comes out of this night together.
"Shallow" begins as just a few lines that Ally puts together
inspired by feelings Jack brings out in her.
[singing]"Tell me something, boy.
Aren't you tired, trying to fill that void?
Or do you need more?"
And the next time she sees him, he's polished the song
with an arrangement inspired by his feelings for her.
"Tell me something, girl.
Are you happy in this modern world?
Or do you need more?"
This duet in front of a packed stadium of fans
delivers the emotional ecstasy that,
in most movies, is reserved for the love scene.
As Nate Jones wrote for Vulture, quote,
"They have sex later, but the movie doesn't linger on it —
singing together onstage is the real consummation."
[singing] "In the shall-la-la-low."
The final creation of "I'll Never Love Again"
reverses the songwriting process of "Shallow,"
signaling how these two have traded places.
this time the song begins as Jack's scribblings,
"I started puttin' it down to paper when we were at home.
I don't know, it sort of fell out of me, I guess,
and onto this page."
and it's Ally who completes the arrangement.
"Only heard it in my mind for so many weeks
so it was good to hear the, ya know, in the real thing."
In the final scene, Ally's performance smash-cuts
to a flashback of Jack singing it for her –
so like "Shallow", this song is presented as a duet,
even though they're separated in time.
"I'll Never Love Again" expresses that this couple's love has become
immortal through their music – even death can't really part them.
[singing] "I'll never love again."
A Star is Born is a movie that's not ashamed to be emotional –
and in today's world, that's exceedingly rare.
This isn't a film to be watched or listened to –
but to be felt.
So if great art means having something to say,
and the power to say it in a way that gets through to audiences,
A Star is Born achieves both – through its performances, direction and,
most of all, its heart.
After it's over, we might feel inspired
to bring a more courageous honesty into our own work and lives.
We have to push ourselves to go deeper,
far from the shallow now.
[singing] "We're far from the shallow now."
[cheering]

What To Do When Things Don't Go As Planned - Duration: 10:09.Brainy Dose Presents:
What To Do When Things Don't Go As Planned
Sometimes life doesn't go as planned.
Perhaps it's a job that we wanted, a relationship that seemed so promising, or even just plans
we made for a particular day - unexpected things happen, and what we had hoped for doesn't
turn out the way we imagined.
We all have those times when things are just not working out, and it's okay and normal
to feel scared or nervous.
As humans, we prefer order over chaos, the known over unknown, and familiar over unfamiliar.
Whenever we feel disappointment, it's like a setback, and it slows us down.
It throws us off course.
The following tips should help you - when things in your life don't go as planned!
Number 1 - Acknowledge Your Thoughts
When things don't go according to your plans, your thoughts can get out of hand.
They can either remind you of the past, or make you worry about the future.
Now of course, you can't just ignore your thoughts, or stop thinking - but instead of
trying to resist them, recognize that these thoughts exist - without judgment or negativity.
Acknowledge that you are upset, sad or disappointed.
Once you calm down, you can begin to address the issue.
Number 2 - Don't Take Things Personally
There are times when things are out of anyone's control.
During these times, tensions can definitely run high, and the matter of politeness can
go right out the window.
Try to recognize when this happens - and whatever you do, don't take things personally.
Keeping your own emotions in check can help you work effectively toward a solution.
Number 3 - Assess What Went Wrong
Be objective in how you look at a situation.
Try to get a clear view of what happened and avoid blaming and pointing fingers.
Make sure your approach is neutral because stress or emotions can cloud your judgment.
You should evaluate the good and the bad, and make an assessment of the situation based
on the pros and cons.
Number 4 - Identify How It Occurred
When there's a problem, you probably try to make the best of the situation.
While it's important to develop a healthy coping mechanism, understanding HOW the problem
occurred in the first place is equally important.
It's normal to think that the problem is out of your control, but most of the time,
a lot of things can be prevented.
It all comes down to the amount of responsibility you take over the problem.
Number 5 - Recognize If You're Reacting Or Responding
You can't change the negative things that happen to you, but the way you react to them
is something you can change.
If you don't learn to deal with negative setbacks, you'll find yourself caught in
a negative cycle – creating even more headaches.
This is why it's so important to understand what went wrong, so you can respond properly.
Again, this doesn't mean that you should blame yourself or others.
It means figuring out what led to the problem by looking at the series of things leading
up to it.
This is an excellent way to understand how you can prevent a situation from happening
again - and learn how to do things better next time.
Number 6 - Give Yourself A Break
Sometimes life can get difficult and things get really tough.
But even during these times, taking time out from everything that is happening, can work
wonders on your mind.
Find a quiet place and take a few moments to just breathe and calm yourself down.
It's a good idea to distance yourself from the situation for a little while - be it a
few minutes, an hour, or a day.
However much time you need.
You can engage in relaxing activities such as reading a book, working on a hobby, or
listening to your favorite playlist.
This will help you calm down so you can resume with a clear mind.
In fact, not only will you feel better, but you'll find new ideas coming to mind - helping
you work on solutions to the problem you're dealing with.
Number 7 - Explore Your Original Expectations
It's easy to get frustrated when things don't go as planned - it's what happens
when things don't meet your expectations.
Look at the situation, and think about the expectations you had.
Sometimes your expectations are very reasonable, but other times, not so much.
Breaking down your desires in a logical manner can be challenging - that's because they
are largely driven by emotions.
However, doing this can help you explore your expectations in greater depth.
Number 8 - You Can Vent, Just Don't Dwell On The Problem
When things aren't working out - often, getting angry may be your first reaction.
It's easy to get angry at a person who betrayed you, that company that's mistreating you,
at your car for breaking down at the 'absolute worst time'… and so on.
If you feel frustrated and overwhelmed, go ahead and let off some steam.
Call a friend, complain, cry about it, or scream at the top of your lungs - whatever
works for you.
Just don't get too caught up in the process - venting is NOT about letting your rage out
on someone.
If you don't have a trusted friend to talk to, try a solitary activity like writing in
a journal.
Let your feelings flow.
Get them out of the way, and then move on!
Number 9 - Focus On The Positive
Even when everything is going horribly wrong, your perspective is what truly matters.
Catastrophizing only creates additional stress.
When you only focus on the negative, you fail to acknowledge what is right in your life.
To keep your chin up in a difficult situation, take some time to identify the positive things
happening in other areas of your life.
You'll be surprised at how much you can maintain your focus if you just stay positive
- even during challenging times.
Learning to deal with setbacks in a positive way - rather than letting them throw you off
course - will help you deal with life's challenges more effectively.
Number 10 - Seek A Solution
When life throws a curveball at you, you should look at the problem and figure out if it's
completely out of your control, or if there's something you can do to correct it.
More often than not, when something isn't working out, it's because there's an opportunity
for something new - a new way of thinking or a new way of approaching things.
So think outside the box, and try to observe the problem in a different way.
If there's a possible solution, determine your strategy, and take the required steps.
Number 11 - Set New Expectations
You should replace your old expectations with new ones - perhaps better informed and more
realistic versions.
Let's say you're not really in shape, but you want to start jogging.
It's much better to set a realistic goal of doing a 5k run within a few months than
it is to plan on running a marathon.
If you are just learning to cook, it's a lot more sensible to make dinner for a friend
- then to attempt to make a three-course dinner for a group of people.
If you want to reach your goals, it's imperative that you stay levelheaded and approach those
goals in increments.
Number 12 - Know When (And How) To Ask For Help
Sometimes, you are too close to a situation, you can't be objective, and you don't
really see it for what it is.
When you feel unsure about something, it's a good idea to talk to someone.
People on the outside may have a better perspective about what's going on, and there's really
nothing wrong with asking for some input.
Talk to people you trust.
Tell them how things are going, and ask them what they think about the situation.
They may be able to give you some suggestions that you perhaps didn't think of.
Even just sharing your troubles with others can sometimes help you find clarity.
Also, learn how to accept help graciously when it's offered to you.
Number 13 - Recognize The Learning Points
Each new encounter you have, offers a chance to learn something.
When things don't go as planned, ask yourself what you've learned from the situation.
Then, think about how you're going to apply what you've learned moving forward.
By doing this, you gain something from every encounter - no matter how bad they may seem.
You walk away a better person - stronger, wiser, and with more life lessons to draw
from.
Number 14 - Look At The Big Picture
Being in the present is a good thing.
But, it can be easy to get lost when you're just focusing on what is.
When things aren't going so great, you can realign your thoughts and gain some optimism
by envisioning how you want to see yourself in the future.
Remember, you can always change the perception you have of an event, so use this as a challenge,
and be creative!
Sometimes a situation can be a real pain to deal with - but always do your best, and don't
beat yourself up over it.
Embrace change instead of fighting against it - and learn from the lessons it can bring
to your life.
Worrying too much about the outcome is not going to change anything.
The sooner you embrace this, the easier your life will feel.
What do you think?
Have you ever had a major disappointment in your life?
What did you do to overcome it, and how did you grow from it?

Troublesome Things You Don't Know About Ellen's Show - Duration: 5:10.After well over a decade on the air, The Ellen DeGeneres Show has secured its place as a
beloved cultural icon.
But the feel-good daytime talk show is also a prime target for controversy.
Think it's all dancing, pranks, and giant checks?
Here's what you don't know about Ellen's show.
Madonna's obnoxious entourage
[ "It's nobody's fault…actually, if anyone's
gonna take the blame, it's me"
In 2015, The Ellen DeGeneres Show presented "Madonna Week", and allegedly her backstage
demands were neither a holiday nor a celebration for producers.
A source told Radar Online,
"Everyone that works there is really glad that it's finally over!"
Apparently a full week of Madonna is one week too many.
The pop superstar allegedly brought her own entourage, who an insider claimed were "so
obnoxious" things got really awkward on set.
Madonna reportedly demanded a set of trailers, a range of pricey health foods, and her own
glam squad — that the studio allegedly had to pay for.
"That's like Armani saying I was difficult about the cape.
That's total bulls---"]
According to Radar, everyone was reportedly expected to "bow down to her" and staffers
were forced to "bite their tongues" all week long.
Plus, the pop star allegedly wanted to personally approve all footage prior to airing, and insisted
on changing each script until the material was to her "liking."
By the end of the week, Radar claims DeGeneres was waaaay over the singer.
We are so sad that Madonna Week is coming to an end"
A source told the tab,
"Ellen is such a control freak.
To have to surrender control to someone who calls the shots in every situation was incredibly
hard for her."
Kylie Jenner's diva demands
"The more people who love you the more there's gonna be people who hate you"
Reality star Kylie Jenner allegedly came to set with her own voluminous list of demands.
According to Radar Online, the dramatical diva requirements included Jenner using her
own hair and makeup people, and getting to take over two whole dressing rooms — one
for her, and one for her glam squad.
Oh, and Jenner allegedly demanded two "VIP parking spots" since she didn't wanna walk
all the way from the parking structure to set, which is reportedly only a block away.
But if any of this is true, perhaps Jenner learned "The Way Of The Diva" by her big sister's
example.
In another report, Radar claims Kim Kardashian was a similar menace when she made her appearance
on the show.
Kim allegedly arrived late in a flurry of fabulousness, armed with roughly 20 minions,
and wouldn't let the Ellen makeup crew touch her lustrous hair — nor her pouty lips.
"Just gimme your f---ing foundation and your concealer"
A charitable IRS nightmare
It could've been the perfect piece of shareable content.
In 2013, an Ohio-based woman named Ry'Shonda Fields emailed Ellen to give a shoutout to
her friend Diane.
After Fields lost her teaching job, Diane helped out in innumerable ways, even giving
Christmas presents to Fields' children.
DeGeneres took Fields' request one step further, awarding her approximately $55,000 on her
show.
Then, the IRS got involved.
Tax collectors in Ohio threatened Fields with prison time for failing to pay more than $1,700
in taxes for the "non-employee compensation" awarded to her by Ellen.
According to Forbes, the court ultimately asked Fields to pay a $75 fine, and handed
her a 30-day suspended sentence.
The case was ultimately overturned, per Courthouse News.
Hissing at writers?
In 2007, DeGeneres received a blistering rebuke from the Writers Guild of America after carrying
on with The Ellen DeGeneres Show in the middle of a writer's strike.
But that wasn't the only fallout from her decision.
As sites like Perez Hilton published photos of DeGeneres reportedly crossing through picket
lines to get to work, disgruntled writer types slimed the comedian's reputation.
"You know what, this is my show"
One blogger, writing under the alias Surgical Strikes, who claimed to be a former writer's
assistant on the short-lived sitcom The Ellen Show, wrote,
"I don't know how Ellen treats her current writers, but I can tell you about how she
treated the previous batch: Like s---."
The blogger claimed DeGeneres would be all smiles during rehearsal, but then glare at
writers once the camera was cut, with Strikes claiming Ellen once hissed:
"Why do you keep writing these unfunny jokes?"
In defense of Kevin Hart
DeGeneres angered many fans by interviewing comedian Kevin Hart in January 2019.
"We are a huge group of people who love you and wanna see you host the Oscars"
According to USA Today, Hart had "stepped down" from Oscar ceremony duties in December
2018 — a mere two days after being announced as host — after insensitive tweets were
unearthed from his past.
Hart subsequently posted a video to Instagram, explaining that he wasn't going to apologize
because he's addressed those tweets before.
"I'm not going to continue to go back and tap into the days of old when I've moved on
and I'm in a completely different space in my life."
The controversy took center stage during Hart's appearance on Ellen, an episode that found
DeGeneres coming to Hart's defense.
There are so many haters out there.
Whatever's going on on the internet, don't pay attention to them.
That's a small group of people being very very loud."
The interview was sharply criticized, with Page Six reporting actor Harry Cook claiming
he could think of "at least 50 openly gay up and coming comedians" who deserve a spot
on Ellen — more than Hart.
And CNN's Don Lemon called the interview "insincere," according to Variety.
"He has somehow turned himself into a victim, instead of acknowledging the real victims
of violent and sometimes deadly homophobia"
Following the outcry, Deadline reported that Hart would not quote, "reemerge as host of
the 91st Academy Awards" because he didn't want to be a "distraction."
A little late for that.

When Things Don't Go as Expected - Markus Alone in the Fjords - Duration: 4:03.It's just so foggy!
There's huge ships everywhere!
It's just scary!
Last week I started my solo trip through the fjords
to meet up with Achim again in Bergen.
My trip was going great until late at night,
just a couple hours from Bergen, conditions changed suddenly.
It's just so foggy!
From one second to the other...
There's huge ships everywhere!
It's just scary!
When we started this expedition a couple months ago,
I haven't had that much experience in sailing.
And honestly, operating the boat alone seemed so far away.
Although I was so scared back then, in the dark, and in the fog,
this was kind of a memorable experience for me.
The problem was just, that the fog was so dense that everything got wet,
immediately.
And my phone really couldn't handle the moisture,
and the battery went from 80%
to 50% and link 17% and 0%
in like three minutes
And my phone died - the one that I use the GPS on,
so I only had this fixed GPS of the ship
which is a littlebit inaccurate - the map is not so good.
I was like...
really freaked out, and looking at this screen trying to figure out where I am.
The funny story is: I read in the newspaper a couple weeks ago
that the Norwegian military sank a ship in these conditions,
in these waters right here around Bergen - in the fog, in the dark.
And yeah, they just hit a rock and the boat sank.
So I was thinking all the time:
If the f**king Norwegian can't handle this, what the f**k am I doing here?
This - hands down - was one of the scariest moments I've ever had.
Yeah,
but we're through!
This might seem odd to you, but that night wasn't all bad for me.
In retrospect, I found it to be quite the opposite actually.
This was one of these many experiences, that really got me hooked on sailing lately.
I was reminded once again, that the very thing I love about alpine climbing can be found in sailing, too.
And that's how we make these strategic decisions - how we handle the pressure,
when things aren't going as expected in these difficult conditions.
This is what really fascinates me about both these sports,
and I just want to say that I'm so glad to be out here.
I'm really happy that I have the opportunity to make these experiences.
This is it for today, thanks for watching!
Next week Achim and I will be reunited in Bergen - and there's some exciting stuff coming up!
Thanks for watching! We're Achim and Markus from Vertizontal,
two friends on a sailing and climbing expedition to remote places.
