How to Play Multiplayer Games Locally and Online Using Switch Lan Play - Duration: 10:28.
In this video, I will show you how to play games with your friends locally or with your friends around the world, even if your console is banned.

All you have to do is mod and tweak your console a little bit and install some files on your computer. So let's get started.
For the first method, you need to connect at least two consoles to the same network.
So go to the system settings and open the Internet settings.
You don't need to install custom firmware for the first method and it doesn't matter if your console is banned or not.
Set the IP address and DNS settings to Automatic and save it.
Then run the game that support wireless play such as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
Select Wireless Play
Then one player must create a Room
If both consoles connected properly to the same network, then you can see the player name on the other console.
You can play up to eight players at one time.
Other player can Create another room or Join the existing Room.
Now the Room creator must setup the rules and other player must follow it.
Then the players can choose any track they like, but in the end, the CPU will pick it randomly.
So as you see on the screen, now you can play the same game with two consoles or even more by using the Wireless Play feature
For the second method, you need to download some files and run it on your computer then you need to tweak the console's internet settings a little bit. You should run custom firmware on your console. It doesn't matter if your console is banned or not, but it gives more impact for banned consoles because banned consoles cannot play online with friends no matter what.

Now you need to setup your console's internet settings like this one.
Open the System Settings then open the Internet Settings
You just have to tweak the internet settings a little bit if you have connected the console to the internet before.
Set the IP address and the DNS settings manually
Mine look like this
Save the settings
Go to this URL and download the latest version of switch lan play. You can see all the link in the description below
You can choose between Linux, Mac OS or Windows version. I use the Windows version for this guide.
Then download the latest version or lan play GUI.
And lastly download WinPcap.
Now install WinPcap on your computer
Then double click the lan play GUI archive and extract it into a folder.
Open the folder and drag the lan play switch app into it.
Then run the lan play GUI
Open the settings and browse for the lan play app then click apply.
Then open the Network Adapter, and press Load Interfaces. Then choose the interface which is in the same LAN as your console. I chose ethernet.
Then press Apply
Now open the Server List and press Download official server list. Then confirm the replacement.
Then press OK
Now you can see some server, press the Update button. You need to find the server that is online and press Connect to Server.
Now you need to test the console's internet connection.
You should have no problem connecting the console to the internet. If it doesn't work, then you need to recheck everything.
As I said before, for the second method, you must run custom firmware on your console. I am running SX OS version 2.5 for this guide.
You need to activate Internet Local Wireless Play feature to continue with the guide.
If you are using Hekate/Atmosphere with the latest version of Kosmos, then follow these steps
Run Hekate then choose Launch. Then choose more configs
Then choose ldn_mitm + CFW
Then rerun the game for example Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
Please note that all player must have the latest game update or else he or she cannot play together.
Highlight the Wireless Play option then hold L R and press the left analog stick until it changes into LAN play
Now press the button and hopefully there is a room available to play with other people in the world.
Now you can see a room available to join. Let's join that room. If you cannot find any room, you can always create a room and invite your friends to play together.
A single room can hold up to 12 people playing together at the same time.
Now choose a character, setup your vehicle and you are ready to play
Since I am joining a room, then I should follow the room setup and rules.
Pick a track and at the end the CPU will determine randomly.
Now you are playing online .
I didn't find any stuttering or lags while playing the game.
Now let's try other game
For example Puyo Puyo Tetris
Head to multiplayer arcade and choose Local Wireless
Choose Versus then join a room if available.
Choose a character
It ran smoothly
