Today we are going to make bracelets-amulets from Czech glass beads

For the white bracelets we will need:

First white bracelet

Take crystal elastic thread,

choose length accordingly to the size of the wrist + a few centimeters on each side to tie knots

Fix the end of crystal elastic thread with the piece of sticky paper, so the beads will not fall down

Start stringing beads on crystal elastic thread

Firmly tie a few knots

Glue the knot

Cut ends with scissors after drying

The first evil eye amulet bracelet is ready!

Second white bracelet

For the second bracelet we will need:

String beads on crystal elastic thread in desired order

Tie a few knots, glue the knot and cut ends with scissors

Third white bracelet

Similarly we will make the third bracelet

Put all bracelets together. Try them on. The bracelets are ready to wear!

We're back at Big Bar in Los Feliz, today

and we're joined by Seline.

Today's cocktail is so old fashion,

that that's actually its name--The Old Fashioned.

But what is it? And where does it come from?

(hard-hitting rock music)

The first documented definition

of an Old Fashioned came all the way

from a paper from New York City in 1806.

The editor wrote that it's a potent concoction

of spirits, bitters, water, and sugar.

Sounded more like a witch's brew than a drink.

By the 1860s recipes included Orange Curacao and Absinthe.

The drink which was only 50 years old at the time,

was literally considered "Retro & Cool."

Which is where the term "Old Fashioned" began to originate.

So I-Heart-the-1800s?

The official, official Old Fashioned was finally

penned at a Gentleman's club in Kentucky in 1881.

At the Pendennis Club, a man named Col. James E. Pepper

coined the term "Old Fashioned,"

when creating the cocktail.

By the year 2015, the Old Fashioned had been named

the Official Cocktail of Louisville.

A far cry from the potent concoction of 1806.

So let's talk more about Old Fashions

and to do that, we have Seline.

How are you doing today Seline?

- Good, how are you?

- I'm doing well, thank you.

So tell us, what is an Old Fashioned.

- Simply put, an Old Fashioned is just some

sugar, some bitters, and a spirit.

Typically it's bourbon, but you can also

do rye or pretty much any other spirit.

Tequila is actually a really great Old Fashioned.

It's nice and it gives a good kick.

- As a bartender, has the Old Fashioned changed

at all for you as the time you've been bartending

or have you noticed peoples' taste in it change.

- People's taste in it has changed.

It's a pretty popular cocktail, now it's kinda

had a renaissance. More often than not,

more females are ordering it. Which is really great.

- Did a lot of people tend to associate

an Old Fashioned, or maybe even a Manhattan

as a more manlier-man's, staunch drink,

but you've actually noticed the opposite.

Actually more women order it, correct?

- Oh yeah, absolutely.

Probably more often than men nowadays.

Which is really great. Because kind of...

expanding the palate, really going beyond

any of the neutral grain spirits

which is really cool.

Besides that, yeah you can pretty much have

any kind of spirit with it.

So if you walk up to a bar, you can ask if

we make any Old Fashions that are with tequila

or anything like that. We'd totally do it for you.

- So if someone wanted to make an Old Fashioned

at home for a party or get-together,

what would they need to buy to make that happen?

- Simply, some Angostura Bitters,

just some sugar cubes, and whatever spirit you want.

And then if you want some really nice ice cubes,

that'd be cool. But you can always

use just regular ice.

- And is there a proper way to garnish it?

Or are there different kinds of garnishes?

- Yeah, so orange is usually--orange peels.

Lemon peels usually go with rye, it actually

brings out the rye flavor a little better.

And then you can also use lime if you want.

Rum Old Fashions really get lime peels

with their Old Fashions--which is really cool.

- So what advice would you offer to someone who's

maybe a little more timid or nervous

about ordering an Old Fashioned

the next time that they go out.

- Oh man. Don't be nervous.

(laughs)

It's such a common thing nowadays that

pretty much any bar will be able to make them.

And they'll make them just the way

that you want them to,

so don't be afraid to ask for

any sort of modifications because,

as bartenders, we'll be happy to do it for you.

- And what do you say to people who are like,

you know, "Ladies just go head and order a Sex on the Beach

or a Piña colada, don't bother with that heavy stuff."

[Seline scoffs]

- I tell them, "No."

Order what you want.

Whiskey is a delicious thing and

they shouldn't be afraid to order it. Boo!

- Don't let anyone tell you.

In this video I'm going to show you how you can make a simple intro in Kinemaster.

So be sure to watch until the end. What's going on my name is Devin Street helping

you build your online presence and today I'm gonna be showing you how you can

make a simple intro like mine you just saw in Kinemaster. But if you're not

every single Wednesday showing you how you can edit in Kinemaster okay the

first thing we're actually gonna do is add in a colored background that we want

so we'll need to go to media browser to do that and then once we're in Media

Browser we'll go up here and click background

once we're in background we can choose any of these and I'm going to just

choose the black one once we are done with that we need to go ahead and get a

logo in here so I did go ahead and drop in this I play button YouTube logo and

let's go ahead and trim this off a little bit and now we have it to where

it's a shorter length than what is already up there and let's actually make

this kind of short let's make it around about 1.5 seconds and then we're going

to do in in animation which we need to decide what we want to do like with mine

is the not the slide up but the is it the pop I don't think it's the pot I

think it's the scale up yeah this one right here it's the scale up as the in

animation and then as the out animation it is the scale down so now that we have

this trim let's just cut off this end of the background right here so it's kind

of shorter so let's go ahead and watch that the logo comes up and disappears

and that's the end of the intro but we need to add more to this

so let's actually cut this slightly more so there's less

time and let's cut it right there let's Center this up and after we have that

centered up we can play it it's gonna be a lot shorter but now we need to export

this and show you what else you can do so I am on the export screen I'm gonna

go ahead and save this in full HD and we have the project now we need to go back

to the video that we were in and now that we're back here let's go ahead and

get rid of this and let's go ahead and add these two images right here okay so

we have these images right here and what we're actually going to do is go ahead

and add that export in that we've already exported right here and now what

we actually can do is these little things right here these squares with

lines to them are our transition boxes we need to click those and choose a

transition and what I actually do with mine is a light leak so let's go ahead

and add some light leaks in there so we just added in this light leak so if we

watch this until the end it light leaks and then the logo comes up and comes

back out and then we can lightly go again but I accidentally made the video

clip a little shorter so try to make the video clips slightly longer I think I

made mine a little too short but once so we would have our video playing and then

this light leak comes in and then the logo is gonna pop up when the light

leaks coming in and then it's going to go back out and it's gonna lot like

let's and put it on this one there we go

so the it would come in and that's going out it would light leak into the next

part of the video so that is simply how you can create a very simple intro in

How to Build a Low-Cost Self-Service for your Small Business - Duration: 10:26.

Okay so today we're going to talk about how to build your very own self-service

kiosk.

So this applies to you if you've got a cafe, a restaurant, or some sort of a

retail store, where you want to do some sort of self-service. Whether that's to

reduce staff or just to make things more efficiently. And I needed to do this for

one of my businesses so I'm the managing director of a group of companies and one

of my businesses we're having a few difficulties with staff we wanted to

build a self-service to make things a lot more smooth and much better for

the customer so they could actually go through and choose what they wanted.

And you can see a great example of self-service at the moment with

McDonald's. So if you go into any McDonald's restaurant, you'll see these

huge tablets now they're six foot tall you go up and you start typing on them.

So McDonald's are one of the leaders in the industry actually creating this this

software and the hardware that goes with it. And they spent absolutely millions

and millions of dollars and pounds or euros actually developing this and it's

paid off really well for McDonald's. If you look at their share price since

they've implemented this their share prices just skyrocketed which gives you

an insight into what happened there they're actually making a lot more

profit from this technology by you know actually utilizing those staff that were on

the front kiosk taking your order so now put those into the into the into the

restaurant into the into the back to actually work on food processing more or

they're just simply cutting a lot of staff so that you know they're keeping

some of their best staff and some of the staff that aren't as good there may be

moving them on. So that's what McDonald's have done there the market

leader so if you've looked into this yourself you'll probably notice just how

expensive it is to build self-service and I've come up with a really really

extremely cheap way to do it. Because within this company that I've got it's

still startup it's three years in and although it's profitable it's making a

good profit the staff costs are really swallowing a lot of that profit and it's

causes very long queues I mean the queues

through the you know out the door in our shop some days are ridiculous so

self-service; bringing in a couple of kiosks is gonna solve that so let me show you

how I did it. So first thing what I did was I did the typical went on Google and

search lots of companies that build self-service and what I found which was

quite surprising for me in this is 2018 bearing in mind we're not you know 1990s

right now nearly every POS, so that's your point-of-sale service is not

offering self-service 99 percent is still the cashier behind the counter

typing it in. Which is crazy! I mean we need more tech companies to be

developing this now. So with all that said, I went around and I only found six

companies that offer self-service. And the prices range from a 10,000 pound

development through to a quarter of a million pounds which is ridiculous. It

will take too long to get my return on investment back on that. So what I did

was I did a little bit of research and I found out there was a point of sale

called square it's not a UK company it's actually an American company based out

of San Francisco and they have this fantastic software you don't have to pay

fees either on the POS like a lot of these big

companies they charge you three hundred pounds five hundred pounds or even

dollars thousand dollars a year for using their point of sale software

Square which is this here they don't charge you anything you just buy the

software buy the hardware you use the software for free and they make their

money from the actual transactions so this is the great thing about Square

fantastic we've set it up it's working great and now we're actually gonna go

from using in the shop where the cashier types in to using the self-service so

here's what I did and I had to you know go back and forth with Square a lot on

this because no one's done it before. So what we've got right now is in store we

have our cashier with the iPad so we have one of these iPads so this is a

bubble tea milkshake drink company and this is how the cashier so you come

along and you want a drink so let's say you want a milkshake you want a bubble

gum milkshake you click this and you know you select

what you want if you only jelly or anything else in it and then you really

simply just add it so that's it and then the charge. That's how the cashier is

doing it all I've done now is just alter this a little bit so it's more simple

and someone on the front can do it so as a customer you come in and you just

press this button so as an example it will be in the hardware which is here

I'll show you this in a minute we'll get it all set up in the shop and it's so

simple you simply touch your card to the reader and it pays for it and you need

to do a little bit of tweaking so I've actually had to buy an Ethernet board

from Star micronics because some of the printers most the printers with this are

bluetooth so you'll have to do if you've got a Bluetooth printer at the moment

you'll have to actually take the Bluetooth board out and replace it with

this so this is an Ethernet board. You'll then have your printer at the front of

house and they'll be connected by an Ethernet circuit so that's another

matter all in itself you really go look at

Ethernet networks but it's not hard to say that you plug it into your your

Wi-Fi router you run the wire to the printer run it to this other printer and it all

works nicely so let's head out now we pack this up we're gonna head out to the

shop which is about 30 minutes away from from my home and we're gonna get this

set up and show you how it all works all right so let's do that now

okay so we're inside the shop now and we've set up the hardware so they come

out the boxes we have the stand we have the card reader and then this is

the shop iPad. So we already had the iPad just loaded the software on it put

on the self service now the thing to note is you have to build this yourself

it's not too difficult but it does take a little bit of playing around with it

but once it's built its built then so that's set up we've got two of these set

up we've got the Ethernet printer set up and the last thing that we'll need to

do with this is to actually bolt this down so that someone doesn't just pick

it up and run off with it so what we'll do here is we'll cut out a square of the

grass same here to put this down and you actually get a toolkit with it and the

great thing about the toolkit is that you have a cleaning cloth and adhesive

mount or a drill mount so this is the drill mount took it from the other box

and I'm actually going to use this so you'll need it comes with a drill bit so

you'll actually need to drill through your counter and that goes into the

bottom of that and you haven't got the grass underneath that would be

absolutely solid no one will be able to take that and run away with it and also

the iPad, unless you actually know how to get it out no one's gonna be able to

grab that and pull it out either so that is the the hardware side all installed

now the only last thing we need to do which is the bit I said a little bit

tricky is the ethernet so with most printers especially at the back there,

they're going to be bluetooth they'll be connected to a one iPad to a printer and that

will be bluetooth all you need is you need this to connect to this but also to

connect to the printer behind the actual counter because otherwise the person

making the drinks it you know wherever you are restaurant coffee shop etc they

won't know what this and all that and unfortunately you can't

do that from the Bluetooth so it has to be an Ethernet printer so I'm going to

take this now and I'm going to take out the Bluetooth and I'm gonna install the

Ethernet in the back printer there. And the other thing to notice is this white

wire that is the ethernet wire.

That Ethernet wire comes in to a splitter (Switch) there which we'll show you in a

second and then the splitter comes in to this and then to that printer but apart

from that is fairly straightforward to set up. Okay so we just had a couple of

people trial the self service, took a little bit longer than than I expected

for it to be set up I was expecting it to take about ten minutes it's taken

about an hour as with anything a couple of technical snags I'm gonna get on this

now I'm going to order myself a drink so let's go for a green apple let's add

in some blueberry popping bubbles really simple there we go you can see the order

on screen there actually I can customize it more if I want to but I don't want to

you know, I can customize my sugar level how cold I want it, how many ect but

that's good so I'm just going to hit charge here I'm gonna take my phone and

I'm going to just use contactless

okay and then I don't know if you heard but it printed a stub here and then a stub

back there if we want to get that

all right order number three!

that's good! ;) Okay so there you have it that's how you set up a self-service

kiosk without a lot of money you know a few hundred pounds for the equipment and

Ethernet and that's it you're good to go!

How To Create a 3D Tube Text Effect in Adobe Illustrator - Duration: 4:28.

Hello everyone this is Chris from Spoon Graphics

back with another video tutorial for Adobe Illustrator.

Today we're going to have some fun using Illustrator's blend tool to create a cool three dimensional

type effect that looks like it's made out of a long bendy tube.

We'll then apply an effect which gives it somewhat of a furry appearance, making it

a useful trick to keep in mind for whenever you might need to make some creative artwork

for titles or logos.

The way the effect works is you first create a blend out of two circles, so begin by selecting

the Ellipse tool and draw a small shape on the artboard.

Clear out the default black stroke, then apply a gradient fill.

The colours of the gradient are entirely up to you, choose any vibrant hues for each end

of the gradient flow by double clicking each swatch.

It might be necessary to switch to RGB to have the ability to choose anything other

than shades of grey.

Set the angle of the gradient to 90 degrees so the colours flow vertically.

Hold the ALT and Shift keys while dragging the circle to one side to make a duplicate.

Shift and click to select them both, then go to Object > Blend > Make.

Head back to Object > Blend > Blend Options and change the settings to Specified Steps.

Enter a super high number like 1000 to produce a smooth blend between the gradients.

Now you have the blend created, the next step is creating a path to apply it to.

The first quick way I'll show you is by simply using the Pencil tool to freehand your design.

Select both your path and the blend element and go to Object > Blend > Replace Spine.

The blended gradient is then stretched along the path, which gives the effect a cool 3D

appearance, especially where it loops and overlaps.

A second way to create paths for the effect is to use a script font for reference.

Unless you're a master hand-letterer it can be difficult to freehand your type, but using

a script font gives you something to work with.

Lay out your text with the Type tool, I'm using a script font named Local Market.

Switch the fill over to a black stroke, then right click and choose Create Outlines to

convert the text element into shapes.

Hit the Unite button in the Pathfinder panel to merge all the overlapping letters.

We can't use the continuous outlines of these letters, but we can effectively trace them

with the Pen tool.

Follow the shape of each letter by clicking and dragging the bezier curves.

Hold the Command key and click on an empty part of the artboard to end a path before

starting a new one.

Draw paths along the entire text to reproduce the word in single lines.

Delete the outlined type once you're done.

Now a colourful blended gradient can be made.

Draw a circle while gauging the size relative to the text.

Give it a gradient fill and alter the colours, then set it to 90 degrees.

Drag a duplicate of the circle to one side while holding ALT and Shift, then with them

both selected, go to Object > Blend > Make.

Set up the Blend Options with Specified Steps at 1000.

We'll need a few copies of this blend element, so ALT+Drag a duplicate every time you need

to use it.

Hold Shift and select the first path of the text along with the gradient blend, then go

to Object > Blend > Replace Spine.

Duplicate the gradient again and replace the spine using the next portion of the text until

it's entirely made of colourful tubes.

Any individual pieces can be adjusted using the Object > Blend > Reverse Front to Back

to alter the flow of the gradient.

To finish off the artwork, grab the rectangle tool and draw a shape to use as a background.

Place it underneath the text using the Arrange > Send to Back menu.

Set up the gradient colours to complement the type, but altered so the text is still

legible.

There's one more trick that can be used to customise this type further.

Select all the gradient paths, excluding the background rectangle, then go to Effect > Distort

& Transform > Roughen.

Turn on the Preview, then play around with the Size and Detail sliders to give the text

a furry appearance, which is perfect for any animal or monster themed text effects.

The final result is a cool 3D text effect that can be customised with all kinds of colours,

all created using just a blended gradient and some simple paths.
