Tens of thousands of families divided by the Korean War have yet to be selected for these

reunions, but they might get another chance soon.

According to the South Korean Red Cross, both sides have agreed that another round of reunions

needs to be held this year.

Park Hee-jun has more.

The next round of inter-Korean family reunions could happen sooner than expected.

Speaking to the press pool at the reunion center at Mount Kumgang,... the President

of the South Korean Red Cross, Park Kyung-seo, said Saturday... that he and the North's number-two

official on reunification, Pak Yong-il,... agreed on the need to hold another round of

reunions within the year.

The relatives on both sides are getting older, and around 3 or 4 thousand of them die each

year.

In less than 10 years,... there could be almost no one left for the reunions, so the South

Korean official said he considers this issue a top priority.

Although the exact date has not been set,... Park said he expects it to happen near the

end of October... before it gets too cold for the participants, who are almost all very

elderly.

He also said the reunion will be similar to this most recent session -- in terms of schedule

and size.

The two Koreas will decide on the details through working-level talks.

The South Korean Red Cross chief also credited North Korea for its role in the latest round.

It was the North's cooperation, he said, that allowed for the participants to enter the

North without having to get off their buses... and for them to have meals with their relatives

without supervision.

He also called the first set of reunions since the Panmunjom Declaration was signed during

this year's inter-Korean summit... a major success.

As Mollie Tibbetts' family prepare for funeral, brother honors her in football game - Duration: 7:49.

Reeling from the shock and outrage of Mollie Tibbetts' slaying in the small Iowa town the college student from California called home, thousands of mourners are expected to fill a gymnasium Sunday afternoon to remember the life she squeezed into 20 years, and mourn the loss of her beaming smile and effervescent personality

A Mass of Resurrection for Tibbetts is scheduled for 2 p.m. (CST) at the Brooklyn-Guernsey-Malcom High School gymnasium in Brooklyn, Iowa

The town of 1,500 people is surrounded by cornfields and a placid rolling landscape now marred by the episode that started when the young woman vanished in July during her evening run and ended Tuesday when her suspected killer led authorities to her body

"It's every parent's worst nightmare, so sad, so wrong. She had so much to give," Linda Safir, a longtime friend of the Tibbetts family in Oakland, California, told ABC station KGO-TV in San Francisco

Father Leo Edgerly of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Oakland's Piedmont neighborhood, where the Tibbetts' family are members and where Mollie had her first communion, said he's reached out to her grieving parents, Laura and Rob, to let them know they are in his prayers and in those of the entire congregation

"We now know where she is. Even though she died tragically she'll never suffer again," said Edgerly told KGO

Three days after his sister's body was found in a cornfield, her younger brother, Scott, a senior quarterback at BGM High School, led his varsity football team to a season-opening win over Lisbon, Iowa

Scott Tibbetts and his teammates have dedicated their season to Mollie and on Friday night wore patches on their jerseys and decals on their helmets with Mollie's initials inside a heart with angel wings

During the 35-24 win, Scott Tibbetts threw two touchdown passes and ran for another

After his first TD pass, connecting on a bomb early in the first half, Scott pointed to the sky in honor of his sister

"We talked about the way that Mollie lived her life," Scott's coach, Jerod Burns, told the Des Moines Register of the private moment the team had before kickoff

"She was a hard worker and she lived with no regrets. That's the way we told the kids to play tonight, is just leave it on the field, and life's too short to do anything half-heartedly

" Burns said Scott Tibbetts informed him a day before that game that he wanted to play

"You've got two hours here where you can focus on something else," Burns said he told his quarterback

"This is your football team. You've got to lead it. There's nobody else that can

" Scott Tibbetts is not the only athlete paying tribute to his sister. Runners across the nation are paying homage to Mollie, calling on people to stand up and demand a world where women can jog freely without feeling unsafe

Using the social media hashtag #MilesForMollie, runners, both men and women, are pledging to run without fear and cross the finish line for Mollie

Mollie Tibbetts, a sophomore at the University of Iowa, disappeared on July 18 after going out for an evening jog in the rural farming town of Brooklyn

Following a massive search that stretched for 32 days, police arrested her alleged killer, Cristhian Rivera, an undocumented immigrant farmworker, who led them to her body

In an interview, Rivera, 24, told authorities he saw Tibbetts running, got out of his car and ran alongside her, said Rick Rahn of the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation

Rivera, who has been charged with first-degree murder, said Tibbetts grabbed her phone and said, "I'm gonna call the police," according to an arrest affidavit

The suspect told authorities he then panicked, got mad and "blocked" his "memory," and didn't remember anything after that until he reached an intersection, according to the affidavit

He said he then drove to a field entrance and into a cornfield driveway, before realizing he had Tibbetts in the trunk, the affidavit said

Rivera said he went to get the young woman out of the trunk and saw blood on the side of her head, according to the affidavit

Rivera then said he dragged the college student from his car to a secluded part of a cornfield and left her in corn leaves, face-up, the arrest affidavit stated

An autopsy showed that Mollie died from "multiple sharp force injuries." "Our hearts are broken," Mollie's family said in a statement

"We thank all of those from around the world who have sent their thoughts and prayers for our girl

We know that many of you will join us as we continue to carry Mollie in our hearts forever

UI Stead Family Children's Hospital Kid Captain 2018: Gwen White - Duration: 3:38.

- There is no cure for this,

and what are we going to do?

How are we going to get through this?

In late 2016, Gwen started having symptoms

as a rash on her hands, and she started

to have some muscle weakness.

- Then, in December, she jumped down the stairs

at my house.

She kind of tweaked her ankle a little bit,

and ended up in a boot for a while, a walking boot.

When she got the boot off, she just wasn't the same.

- And, she was more tired than normal.

We just knew that something was going on,

but we didn't know what.

They finally did a skin biopsy,

which we were kind of scared to do at first.

It was actually Gwen who said, "No,

"I want to know what's wrong with me."

The dermatologist's office had called us

and said that she had juvenile dermatomyositis,

and that we needed to get to the children's hospital

right away, and that there was already doctors

waiting for us, that she would be admitted

into the hospital, and it would be aggressive treatment.

Juvenile dermatomyositis is a disease

that attacks the skin and the muscles.

There is no cure.

When I heard that, it took a while to let that sit in.

- [Tom] It was scary cause I've never heard of it.

Three kids out of a million get this.

So, no one's ever heard of this.

- [Kerstin] It affects Gwen in a way

that she has muscle weakness,

and she also has a predominant skin rash.

It also means that she cannot be in the sun like other kids.

The medicine impacts her daily life

that she has to take for the disease.

- [Tom] The girl wakes up at like 5 a.m.

and take a couple pills.

She'll go back to sleep, and she'll wake up again

to eat breakfast and start her day,

and she takes 10 pills in the morning with her breakfast.

- [Kerstin] When she was on the high dose steroids,

we would have lots of ups and downs with the emotions

with the steroids.

The steroids also made her very puffy.

- [Gwen] I have to wear sunscreen cause if I don't,

then my disease can come active again,

and I could turn really sick again,

and not be able to do a bunch of stuff.

So, when I go to school, sometimes

I have to put on sunscreen at my locker and stuff,

but it's really nice cause all my friends

and my teachers understand.

It's pretty cool to have friends like that.

- [Kerstin] Gwen is doing really good today.

With the treatments, the rash has actually gone away.

Through physical therapy for a year,

she's been able to regain a lot of her muscles back as well.

- This hospital makes me feel like happy,

and it's really nice to come here

because of all the nice nurses and all the nice people here.

It really makes you feel like a lot better and stuff,

especially if you're going through a hard time.

- When Iowa City says hey, we know what this is.

We know how to nip this thing in the bud.

We can put you in a medical remission, and they have.

We wouldn't be able to do that anywhere else.

Gwen's care team, they're just,

they're the best you could hope for.

She's getting great treatment here.

All you want is your kid to have any chance

like any other kid.

Wrap-up of 21st Inter-Korean Family Reunions - Duration: 1:03.

Right, and that's a change, because families were initially scheduled to spend 11 hours

together.

How did that change come about?

Well, as the reunions were going on, the South Korean authorities suggested to North Korea

that the last session on the final day be extended from two hours to three, and the

North agreed.

Generally, I could sense that the authorities from Seoul and Pyongyang worked very hard

this time to do as much as they could for these elderly participants...

Not only in terms of giving them more time to spend with each other, South and North

Korean authorities worked to make it so they had to move around as little as possible,

and they increased the number of hours they got to spend with their relatives in their

private rooms from two hours to three hours as well.

Though that might seem like a minor change, we heard from the families that their individual

get-togethers were much better than the public ones -- because they could speak more candidly

with each other... away from the eyes of South and North Korean officials.

I'll Walk With You - The Marks Family - Duration: 7:30.

My name is Doug Marks, my family has been members of the church on both sides for many

generations and we've been active in the church ever since I was little.

Baptized when I was eight.

I met my wife, Sharon, in Provo while we were going to school.

I've served in the Young Men's a lot, as counselor in the bishopric, a couple times, and bishop

in the Westmond Ward, then got called to serve as a seminary teacher, I've been a seminary

teacher for about ten years, and then called to serve as the stake clerk which I served

in for about seven years, and then a couple months ago I got called to be the second counselor

in our Stake Presidency.

I'm Sharon Marks and I am a seventh generation Mormon, I have pioneer stock.

I grew up Mormon, I met my husband, as he said, while we were going to BYU.

I served a mission in the Connecticut Hartford Mission.

My callings have been in every auxiliary, in the primary, in Young Women's, I've spent

a lot of time in the Young Women Program, and in Relief Society and I am currently serving

as the first counselor in the Stake Relief Society Presidency.

We have three sons.

Spencer is our first.

He's married to a wonderful girl Stephanie.

Justin, our gay son, is an identical twin and his brother Greg is on serving a mission

in Aruba.

So I still remember the night that Justin came out to us.

I can remember we had all gone to be already, we had our usual family scriptures and prayers

and were climbing into bed and Justin came into our room and said, "Can you come and

talk to me down in the family room."

He handed us each a letter and the letter told us that he was gay.

He was so worried about telling us this.

As soon as we were finished, the first thing out of Doug's mouth was, "That doesn't change

how much we love you.

That doesn't change anything Justin."

Before I had children I was an interior designer, and I worked with a lot of designers, and

most of them were gay and so I didn't have any fear about who a gay person was but the

problem was trying to transition ourselves from who we thought he was into who he really was.

I think it was a lot harder for me, it took me a lot more adjusting and trying to figure

out what we should do.

I think Sharon was more comfortable with it more quickly, but really we didn't know a lot.

There were resources out there, but we didn't know about them.

At the time, I was our Stake Clerk.

It was right in the middle of the Boy Scouts of America trying to figure out what they

were going to do with gay scouts, and so in our Stake Presidency meetings, that had come

up quite a bit.

I just kinda had the feeling that, "Well if the scouts let all gays in, then I'll bet the church

is just going to leave the scouting program."

So then when I came back to our Presidency meetings after talking with Justin, after

Justin came out, all of a sudden it went from the gays out there to my son and I just had

to start to resolve all those things that I had thought that I knew weren't true about

my son, and so there were all these things that I had to start resolving in my mind.

So much time has gone into praying about how do I support my son and what am I supposed

to be doing in this whole plan.

The answer came really strong one night that just because I don't know what the plan is

for Justin doesn't mean that there isn't one.

God does have a plan for Justin and for all of his children no matter what their orientation may be.

It's up to me to just have the faith to be patient enough to see how that plan is going

to work out.

And so in the meantime, our job is just to love him.

Whenever I get worried about anything and I pray about it, the answer is always always,

"just love him," and that's a simple thing to do because he's so loveable.

I have been really lucky to have really awesome parents.

My being gay didn't change anything at all and that was huge for me.

I had a lot of time before my parents did to think about things and to study and to

find resources and my parents didn't have that time and so as soon as I came out they

were just thrown into this new life.

And so those disagreements and those learning experiences will happen, they do happen and

they will happen.

The most important thing is that when I had a disagreement with my parents, they made

sure that I knew that I was loved, like new that I was still so important to their lives,

and so that was really important to me as well.

So I was really lucky too to have parents that were able to raise me in an environment

where I wasn't susceptible to a lot of the things that a lot of LGBTQ+ kids were susceptible to.

I was never going to parties and getting so drunk and driving home drunk, really dangerous

things that, because LGBTQ+ people are so often alienated from their families and alienated

from their systems of support they often get into.

And so I think that was really important.

Probably the biggest thing I would say to other parents is just be patient and know

that God is there and he'll help you.

He'll help you.

A lot of the hard things we face is because we see life in a certain way, and if it doesn't

fit that, then it throws us into a tail loop and I think God wants to expand our vision,

and sometimes he uses things that are hard for us to do that.

I'm walking with all my wonderful family members and friends in the Sandpoint Stake as we learn

to be better people and more loving of all those around us.

I'll walk with all those who want to be a better support to those in the gay community

and want to love all of those as our own brothers and sisters.

We're the Marks family and we'll walk with you.

Arizona candidate suggested McCain family timed announcement - Duration: 5:09.

Hours before Senator John McCain died on Saturday, a Republican seeking Arizona's other US Senate seat suggested that his family's earlier announcement that he was ending cancer treatment had been timed to hurt her campaign

Friday's announcement of McCain ending medical treatment for aggressive brain cancer came the same day former state senator Kelli Ward was launching a statewide bus tour - her big push before Tuesday's primary

A campaign aide to Ward wrote on Facebook: 'I wonder if it were just a coincidence that Sen McCain released his statement on the kickoff day of Kelli Ward's bus tour or if it was a plan to take media attention off her campaign?'Ward, who lost a primary to McCain running from the right in 2016 and is now trying to win the GOP nomination for retiring Senator Jeff Flake's seat, said in response: 'I think they wanted to have a particular narrative that they hope is negative to me

'  The question was posed by aide Jonathan Williams and Ward's reply came hours before McCain's death Saturday afternoon

A screen shot of Ward's response was tweeted out, inciting backlash at the insensitive comment

Ward deleted the comment as the photo made its rounds online, instead replacing the post, saying the media is making up 'fake stories' to hinder her chances at gaining the Senate seat

'I've said again and again to pray for Senator McCain & his family,' Ward wrote. 'These decisions are terrible to have to make

I feel compassion for him and his family as they go through this.''It's not the McCains creating a narrative - it's the media making something out of nothing,' she continued

'The media, the left, the Establishment have the agenda. They've been attacking me for fake stories for a year on this issue

'  Ward has acknowledged she is the underdog in Tuesday's primary. She faces Rep Martha McSally and former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio

The McCain family's statement Friday read: 'The progress of disease and inexorable advance of age render their verdict

With his usual strength of will, he has now chosen to discontinue medical treatment

'It continued: 'Our family is immensely grateful for the support and kindness of all his caregivers over the last year, and for the continuing outpouring of concern and affection from John's many friends and associates, and the many thousands of people who are keeping him in their prayers

'Jabs were taken toward Senator McCain at the bus tour Friday by Ward and Fox News contributor Tomi Lahren - even after the family released the statement

Family reunion participants part ways after three-day event in North Korea - Duration: 3:07.

From the thrilling first group reunion to the teary send-off,... the three days they

spent together flew past for the families... who had been separated by war and division

on the Korean peninsula for almost seven decades.

The families wrapped up their reunion at North Korea's Mount Kumgang resort over lunch on

Sunday.

And now, it's back to reality.

Our Cha Sang-mi has more on the tearful scenes.

The second round of inter-Korean family reunions began on Friday, with the participants from

the South driven by bus to North Korea's Mount Kumgang resort.

Eighty-one people from North Korea were selected to meet with their South Korean relatives,

numbering 326 people in total.

The families met and had dinner for the first time in 68 years,.. some of whom had never

seen each other before.

"Mother waited 68 years for you.

I'm glad you're well and healthy.

Never in my dreams did I think you'd be alive."

Cho Jung-ki burst into tears as he talked to his father.

The elder Cho's wife was three months pregnant with their son, when they were split across

the border.

On day two, the families spent some quality time together separately in assigned rooms,

eating lunch and having candid conversations without supervision or press.

The families exchanged presents, too.

"Did you prepare many gifts?"

"I brought jackets, noodles and daily goods.

These five bags are full of daily necessities.

I'm happier now as I can give them some gifts."

Before going into the private setting,.. Yoon Chang-seop, couldn't hide his delight after

seeing his long-lost uncle from the North.

The last day came all too quickly.

Long-separated families finally reunited... but having to part ways again.

"I cried every time I thought of saying goodbye to you."

"If we live long and stay healthy, the time will come for us to meet again."

"I wish.

I wish we could see each other every day."

The older sister promises they'll meet again in the future, knowing they probably won't.

The participants say the three days they spent together -- despite being under strict control

-- were amazing.

The families had a session for exchanging letters, where some grandchildren, nephews

and nieces, wrote heartfelt letters for their grandparents, aunts and uncles, and vice versa.

The grandchildren had never seen their North Korean grandparents before, but they invited

them to their homes in the South.

The venue for Sunday's farewell became a sea of tears, but it seemed they were happy deep

down.

The families said the three days flew by and they wanted to stop time so they wouldn't

have to say goodbye.

Just after lunch, though, the South Korean participants left Mount Kumgang, going home

and heading back to their regular lives.

Two Koreas may hold another round of family reunions within this year - Duration: 1:46.

The tens of thousands of families who've yet to be selected for these reunions might get

another chance soon.

According to the South Korean Red Cross, both sides have agreed that another round of reunions

needs to be held this year.

Kan Hyeong-woo reports.

The next round of inter-Korean family reunions could happen sooner than expected.

Speaking to the press pool at the reunion center at Mount Kumgang,... the President

of the South Korean Red Cross, Park Kyung-seo, said Saturday... that he and the North's number-two

Although the exact date has not been set,... Park said he expects it to happen near the

He also said the reunion will be similar to this most recent session -- in terms of schedule

This is the most popular member of the royal family with palace staff - Duration: 2:38.

While the young royals including Princes William and Harry are known and loved for their friendly and relatable personalities, it is actually their grandfather Prince Philip who is most popular among palace staff, according to Matt Smith

The actor, who portrayed the Duke of Edinburgh in Netflix drama The Crown, said that after speaking to a number of staff during research for his role, it became evident that the 97-year-old is incredibly popular

Speaking about his preparations for the role, Matt said that he found there was a lot of "misconception" about what the Queen's husband is really like

"And actually all the research I did found him to be brilliantly funny, very clever, very popular

In the royal house he's the most popular of all of them," Matt told Variety.  "If you've talked to any of the staff, Philip's the one they all love really

I think more than a lot of them, he's a bit more of a man of the people," he added, saying he believes Philip has a "cheekiness" to him that means he doesn't always follow royal protocol and is "open" with the staff
