Which Ferro Rod Should I Use? - Duration: 10:51.

hi folks I'm Craig Taylor and as always a huge thanks for joining me here on my

youtube channel the bushcraft Padawan one of the first

pieces of kits that I bought purposefully after getting interested in

this whole field of bushcraft was a Ferro rod a ferrocerium rod because

well all the cool guys had them right everybody that I was kind of looking up

to on YouTube and their blogs and things they all had a Ferro rod and I don't

think it was an impulse buy because you know years later I'm still using a Ferro

rod not the Ferro rod that I bought back then and that's the purpose of this

video purpose of this video is to encourage you to have a think about the

kit that you've got I'm a big believer in the phrase if it ain't broke don't

fix it I'm a huge believer in that which is why a lot of a kit that I've got

today I've had decades from when I was in the Army however I'm also big

believer in experimenting I'm a big believer in nothing ventured nothing

gained I'm a big believer in trying things out and modifying things and

tweaking things until you can turn something that is okay to good and from

good to great and from great to excellent so I want to encourage you to

have a look at your equipment and just figure out is there anything that you

can do or change or modify to enhance the way that it performs for you my

particular example in this video is the humble Ferro rod so this is one of my

earlier farad's I genuinely carry them with this was the first one that I

bought what here is a Ferro rod this is now my son's Ferro rod it just kind of

didn't it just sort of didn't work for me it worked has in it through sparks

don't get me wrong but the fact that I was able to detach the handle from the

rod yes I could super grip back in place I've done that already and it still came

apart so it was quite small it did its job at the time but I moved I moved on

from using her and I can generally remember why but I moved on

from using that and gave that to my son I then moved towards a light my fire

which is a very very popular brand of Ferro rod can't remember why I moved

away from using that although if you look you'll notice that there is a

relationship between the dip in a thumb point here that you hold it and the way

that it is degraded in terms of the way that I've used my strike on the back of

my knife on it I'm going to talk about that not that more in a future video and

slightly just slightly less depth later in this video here I then moved on to

this beast here this is a hefty bit of kit you know those there's my hand

there's a ferrule next to it it ain't far off the size of my hand to be

perfectly honest it weighs something okay and take a knock to the head with

it and it's gonna do you some damage I'm not advocating that folks there's no

moving parts on it if you look it's just a single drilled hole for which I've

attached some cord with a loop at the end for me to attach see my belt a

slight problem with these stories is she's gonna last forever this is gonna

outlast me it throws great Sparks but it's bloody heavy and I don't know about

you but I carry my phone rod round in my pocket my right pocket with a loop

attached to my belt so that I don't misplace it or if I don't put it in the

pocket correctly it's just gonna dangle there at the end of the cordage and not

drop onto the floor and one of the downsides of having such a beast of a

piece of Ferro rod is one it's heavy when you add that to all of the other

gubbins that we carry around in our pockets bushcrafting OSHA forever

pulling my trousers I haven't got much of a hip and a backside as it is there's

nothing to hold my trousers up so I didn't need extra weight in it but the

primary thing is this it has worn multiple holes in my very expensive but

otherwise very robust vada Pro flour raven trowel

just have a look at some of the holes in my right pocket

I've given up repairing them to be perfectly honest are the trousers on the

way out generally there's several years old but I've given up repairing them

because with this ferrule it just kept poking holes in it

I don't care carry my car keys in that pocket they always go my way my day sack

when I'm out and about there was nothing else in that pocket of any way or

substance that would have caused those holes

apart from this Ferro rod the other downside to it is if you attach a huge

piece of cordage to this then you've got a lot of gobiins floating around in your

pocket if you attach a short piece you can kind of sometimes be constrained

depending on how and where you're using your Ferro rod so I was looking for

something that would solve that problem would allow me to detach it easily from

the loop and reattach it from the cordage but also didn't weigh the size

you didn't wait address the weight equivalent of a tree trunk and wear

holes in my pocket and that brings it up today this is what I'm using at the

moment he's my Farhat of choice at the moment I bought this from Jamie Dakota

at Hull bushcraft it's a fairly short sharp stubby piece of kit wooden handle

on there actually comes em with a clear finish or a varnished finish but I asked

Jamie to send me an unfinished piece and I wanted to paint it Orange just to help

me locate it should the worst come to the worst it's got a piece of short very

short cordage attached to it there look at that very short indeed you could say

it's almost too short it's worth noting that this cordage the inside of it is

actually its hinder in itself I think it's called fire cord or something like

that I'm sure if Jamie's watching this video he'll correct me in the comments

below but here's the quite cool thing very very sure quite difficult I imagine

to be able to bring that to bear fully if it's attached to your belt which

mayonnaise but look at this if you bring is close to camera you see that you see

that metal attachment running into the end of the wooden handle if I depress

the plug that it actually comes apart and then

clicks back into place that's really handy that means I can carry a very

short piece of cordage in my pocket but still know that if I need to move the

fur rod away from my body to use it in some way I can do that and then I can

firmly reattach it so this is what I'm using at the moment

you'll also notice if I rotate that handle round there's no specific place

to grip this which means that it's much easier and I'm going to talk about this

in a future video it's much easier to work in time around your Ferro rod as

you can see I've started to do now it's much easier to work around it 360

degrees when you're striking against something

meaning that you're gonna mitigate that dip that you saw in my previous firm if

I hold it up you'll mitigate against that dip that you can see in the fur or

there that makes it very very difficult to use you can work around that because

you can work around the Ferro rod the only questions I've got in my head at

the moment about this and I've not had it long enough to answer them so they're

not negatives they're just questions how easy is this mechanism going to be

if I'm wearing gloves or mittens I want to say it's fiddly but I would say you

need a certain amount of manual dexterity and control to be able to

release that and replace that safely so that's one question and the other

question and again I've not had it long enough so it's not it's not a poke at

this is I'm just wondering if any dirt or grit or anything gets in there is

there a risk of this locking mechanism failing and despite you thinking that

you've attached it securely in actual fact some grit is in the mechanism and

it falls away I genuinely don't know Jamie it's not it's not a dig all at the

product I like it I'm enjoying using it they're just questions I've got in my

head for them in the fullness of time

hopefully I'll be able to answer for myself so just a reminder why I've taken

you on this trip down memory lane relating to my fire at the fair rods

it's because I started off with something

that worked it did its job but as my thinking and my practical application of

its evolved I realized that it wasn't for me and I've gone through a process

and may still be in a process of finally landing upon that's at that perfect

Ferro rod if indeed there is such a thing and that's all I want to encourage

you to do I do not want to encourage you to go out spending money on stuff it's

Black Friday today quite ironically when I'm recording this and of course lots of

people will be going out spending money on stuff I don't want to encourage that

I taught you to encourage some reflections some critical analysis some

self-reflection on the kit that you use and whether there's anything that you

can do to enhance the way that you're using it maybe is a new piece of kit

maybe it's just actually tweaking something slightly so that it can it can

bring about greater benefits to you and enhance your time outdoors even more so

thank you for watching my ramblings I've talked about the fact that I'm gonna I'm

referring to a future video on fairer odds which I've got planned up here

shouldn't be too long in the making that particular video but thank you for

watching this video got a question for you all now in the comments down below

either on Facebook Twitter or YouTube or read it wherever you're watching it what

have you modified recently or what have you upgraded to

recently and why yes we can all tweak stuff and buy stuff but why have you

tweaked something recently why did you replace or upgrade something recently I

think the why is the more important than the fact that you have do please let me

know in the comments below if you're a subscriber mwah thank you very much if

you're not shame on you click the button in this corner of the

screen it's been there for the whole video if you want to see more from me

then please do feel free to click on that subscribe button thank you as

always for watching enjoy time in the woods see you in the next video Cheers

(ENG sub) Which is more important for working abroad, ability or foreign language? - Duration: 6:49.

Q1. Did you get a job to escape from employment difficulty

I don't think it was an escpae

There were many companies who wanted Vietnamese experts

So I knew that Vietnamese was a new trend

I have worked in Korea for 3 years

I also thought of how I could extend my career

So I thought of it as a challenge

I went to Vietnam as an exchange student

so I thought of getting a job abroad

Why not work abroad?

This is what I thought so I participated in one of the programs and finally got a job

I graduated university at Japan so, naturally I started to work at Japan

Q2. Are you allowed to leave early?

I never had to be self-conscious about when to get off from work

They didn't want us to work on trivial things

so they didn't tell me the specific time to leave

Not at all

I got off at about six ten

At six thirty, the air conditioning shut down

The light went off automatically at 7

Vietnamese company had the environment where you get off at the right time

You work for what you receive, so when you work late, you get paid that much more

The welfare, maternity leave are good

for California, you get paid more at night

They recommended use getting paid for working late

My conditions didn't include any late work shift

and that was the reason why people got off at the right time

"Why are you working late? They don't give you money for that"

Then I would say "Okay~~"

The company I worked for made me self-conscious

Vietnamese employee all get off at 5

It was mostly Koreans who worked until 7 or 8

Korean employee keeps our Korean culture(?) at Vietnam too

Even in other countries

PD: Couldn't you have worked in Vietnamese company?

Then you can't earn money

It's choosing between two options

Foreign friends told me it's mostly Koreans and Japanese who stay until late

And everyone else goes home

They asked me "Why do you work so hard"?

As far as I know, I think it's the Korean gene

That you have to work hard?

There's IT company called black company

They would give us money for working up to 40 hours

I've heard of that policy but we didn't have that

They didn't really care about when we were leaving

Q3. Is eating with your colleagues okay?

Only the people who wanted to come volunteered

so it was very convenient

It was not a must, and it didn't need to happen

One in a while, people would have lunch to have really good food

we don't have to go after work

we go at 3 or 4

So we drink beer and go home at 7 or 8

PD: You didn't have to get a cab after work?

never

Not once

But the company that I was in was rooted in America

I think it depends on the company culture

The company that I went to was a foreign company. The root was in Korea

so the culture fully reflected Korea, so monthly,

we had to gather up after each event

we drank a lot

so I think it was the same as Korean company

Q4. Is it hard to get a job if you don't have social network?

You are offered jobs with social network

you get lots of opportunities if your friends are employed

I think it's a bit hard without it

Me and my friends got a job without social network

For me, I participated in K-Move program, provided by Human Resources Development Service of Korea

so I got help from there

Housing, an renting houses were convenient to reach

from these kind of communities

Human Resources Development Service of Korea and the Ministry of Labor helps the people who are employed

to support themselves financially

I did a lot of searching

and went to foreign websites and select the interested jobs

Then the alarm would alert you

There are lots of recruiting fairs so if you participate

Then I think you can employ yourself

If you have a consulting career,

you can see where you can get in with your cv

Or they can tell you your strengths and weaknesses with free consulting

You can post on World job website, Kmove school, and get help with English resume

interview skills, and language skills like Japanese and German

you can use them as consulting

Q5. Can you go for the main job?

You can

You can

It doesn't matter where you're from

Your capacity and communication skills are more important

I thinks language really helps when you get the main jobs

If you can't show them how good your are because of language

Then you're not evaluated in the right way

you are misunderstood

and you can experience bad things

when your boss asks you 'why did you do this'

and the people who can speak good English can express themselves

but if you can't, you stop talking

Then you're misunderstood

Anyhow, your evaluation will not be good

When you have to pass them the memo from calling

(if you don't know the language) you can't write it down

so you should work on that

Q. Are there any tips for getting a job?

Introduction, showing your capacity and motivation

You should be able to precisely say this

You should practice these

For Japan, they are still conservative

You have to wear black recruit suit

It's conservative but necessary

When you first reach out for the job

It's important to consider getting help from government service such as Kmove program

There is a labor ministry which offers recruiting website

Or you can use World job which contains information about recruiting

I got enormous help from here

You can check out the K-move site

you can get the right education for your specific job

So I think it's a good tip

I work for one month and get 2000000won

And it increased this year

There are standards for financial support for settling

After you get employed, you should check the standards in Worldjob

For foreign companies...

you should really show your brightness

your special characteristics, energy and personality

If you can show yourself, then they would recruit you

you should use these as your tips

PD: Were there nickname you used?

My last name was Kim

so Kimu in Japanese

Kimu sang

I didn't really have a special Japanese name

What if there are a lot of Kim?

we didn't really have a lot of kims at our company

Kareem Hunt Fantasy: Which Chiefs RB Should You Add on Waivers? | Heavy.com - Duration: 6:10.

Kareem Hunt Fantasy: Which Chiefs RB Should You Add on Waivers? | Heavy.com

Kansas City Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt finds himself in hot water due to a recent video that's come to light.

The video shows Hunt and a woman arguing at a Cleveland hotel back in February of 2018.

During the video, Hunt can be seen pushing and also kicking a woman who is on the ground and was first revealed by TMZ.

While there's a lot to take in from this situation, the most important goes far beyond football.

There will almost certainly be an investigation from both the police and the NFL.

Beyond that, we have very little info aside from what was on the video so I won't go into further detail.

Hunt seems bound to be away from the Chiefs for some period of time more than likely, and that may start this weekend when the team faces the Oakland Raiders.

We're going to take a look at the fantasy football options on the Chiefs who will take over Hunt's workload if he is indeed out.

Let's dive in by breaking down Kansas City's other options.

Update.

As ESPN's Dan Graziano revealed, the Chiefs have sent Hunt home from team facilities Friday and he may be a candidate to go on the commissioner's exempt list.

I am told the Chiefs sent Kareem Hunt home from the facility today upon learning of the release of the video and pending further action.

Most likely short-term resolution is that Hunt would be placed on the commissioner's exempt list pending a final decision, but we will see.

— Dan Graziano (@DanGrazianoESPN) November 30, 2018  .

Top Chiefs RB as Fantasy Football Replacement for Kareem Hunt.

The first name who comes to mind has to be Spencer Ware, who's held down the No.

2 job behind Hunt this season.

He hasn't seen a ton of work on the year, though, and as Football Outsiders shows, Ware played just 11 snaps compared to 62 for Hunt in the team's last game.  Although Ware hasn't played much, he's proven to be a talented back.

On the season, the 27-year-old has 22 carries for 124 yards and one touchdown while adding 14 receptions for 165 yards.

His ability as a dual-threat back should make him an ideal option to pair up with Patrick Mahomes if his number is called.

It's easy to forget that Ware had a strong season back in 2016 when receiving extended work due to injury.

During that season he rushed 214 times for 921 yards and three scores.

He also added 33 receptions for 447 yards and two more touchdowns.

He's almost certainly will be the clear-cut option to take over if Hunt is out.

Spencer Ware's Fantasy Outlook and Competition for Touches.

The Chiefs aren't exactly loaded with options at the position other than Hunt and Ware.

At least, not ones they feel comfortable utilizing all that much.

The next-closest running back in terms of rushing attempts this year is Damien Williams with three for just one yard while De'Anthony Thomas has one attempt for six yards.

Ware is an all-around solid running back and actually has a strong outlook in this spot.

He should wind up receiving heavy carries and targets depending on Hunt's status.

But having Mahomes under center will only help his stock and could lead to him being an excellent target in both standard and point-per-reception leagues.

He's worth adding in all leagues with 10 or more teams, and likely even leagues smaller than that.

Liverpool vs Everton: Michael Owen makes SHOCK claim which should concern Man Utd - Duration: 2:56.

The former Reds striker has praised the form of the Toffees going into the clash at Anfield

And he even believes Marco Silva could finish in the top six with Everton. That's a concerning prediction for United fans as their side currently sit seventh behind the Toffees

Owen thinks Liverpool are favourites against Everton on Sunday but still thinks Silva's side can finish above the likes of United

He told BetVictor: "In a weekend of Derby fixtures Liverpool host Everton at Anfield in the final game of the round

"The Reds are not often as short as 4/11 for victory in this competitive fixture and 17/2 the visitors is bound to have value seekers rubbing their hands in glee

"However the hosts are unbeaten and it will take a monumental effort for the Toffeemen to inflict a first loss of the campaign especially in front of the Kop

"Everton have quietly come up on the rails and look a solid favourite to finish best of the rest without the big six

"In fact they may even think a top six finish is a realistic aim and with only three defeats have shown plenty of enterprise

"With only one defeat in their last seven Premier League fixtures they are one of the form sides and will make things tough for Liverpool

"However Pool still have that touch of quality and squad depth their rivals may slightly lack and I expect a tight match but go for a narrow 2-1 home win at 8/1

"For those looking outside the obvious for scorer wagers, Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk has been in impressive form of late and is more than justifying the huge fee Jurgen Klopp paid for the Dutch international

"He scored against the Blues on debut during an FA Cup success back in January when becoming the first Liverpool player to score on debut against Everton since 1901! "With great aerial presence and physical quality he will be vital at set pieces and I can see him notching again once more

" Liverpool take on Everton from 4.15pm on Sunday.

[4K] Which drug store has the cheapest price in Namba Osaka? #057 - Duration: 4:04.

it's 798 JP

I knew that they have cheaper price

Hey guys welcome to Rion's TV I am Rion

So today, I come to Namba again

there are so many traveler from China, Taiwan,

anywhere from Asian country to buy medicine in Japan

There are so many drug stores around this Namba area

So I was wondering if there is price difference

So let's find our which drug store has the cheapest price

well, this time I focus on Listerine

Because I think it's popular and you have an idea of the price of Listerine

So let's go to find of the price differences

Let's go

All right, so 1st drug store is 'Kokokara fine"

Well, it's in the big street and this one is a big drug store

so, should be cheap I guess

all right so, Let's go to check

so right here, it's 798 JPY

Let's see if there is cheaper store or not

all right so, let's go to check next store

well, so next store is Daikoku drug

this Daikoku drug is very popular drug store in Japan

So I guess it should be cheaper

I am not sure, so let's go to check

Well actually, they have Listerine, and it's 698 JPY

Which is 100 JPY cheaper compared to the last store

I knew that they have cheaper price

All right, so let's go to check next place

All right, so the third store is Sugi Yakkyoku, this drug store is really popular in Japan as well

And I am pretty sure that they have cheaper price as well

So let's go to check

well actually they don't have it, it's sold out

And also I realize that this one is bigger than other one

So cannot compare, All right so, this place no small Listerine

Okay, so let's go to check next store

well, so 4th store is Tsuruha drug, this one is really popular drug store as well

So should be, they have cheaper price, I guess, let's go to check

Well actually they don't have a same kind, but they have a different kind

and this one is 898 JPY which is a bit expensive compare to other places

yeah, this is a different kind, but then, I guess other places are cheaper

All right so, let's go to check next place

The last drug store is Matsumoto Kiyoshi, this one is really popular drug store

and then, usually their prices are really cheap

so I believe they have the cheapest price, that's a kind of my guess

but not sure, let's find out which one is the cheapest

All right, so let's go

Well this place, 739 JPY, a bit expensive

Well actually Daikoku-drug had the cheapest price around this area

the (price) difference between most expensive store and the cheapest store is 100 JPY

which is kind of a lot I think, and also I am pretty sure other drug's prices are different as well

So if you wanna buy drugs in Japan, especially if it's a lot

then just go to Daikoku drug store, I think that's the cheapest

Okay, so pretty much that's it
