Hey everybody! I am very excited to tell you about some things I've been thinking
about lately. Basically, I'm here in Ireland. Lots has happened, no time for
a life update, we're just gonna get right into the thing that's on my mind. I've
been having a bit of a think about the music that I make and specifically about
how I'm sharing that music. And, it occurred to me the other day that the
the model with which I have been using like YouTube and Patreon, for sharing
music, it's not working! it's not working. And here's why; For the last little while
I've been, you know, writing songs, making little demo's, putting them on YouTube,
and then sharing them with my patrons. Except! When I would write a really fire
song, that I really loved, I would say, "no no no, I can't put this just on YouTube
flippantly. You could only release a single once, so I'm gonna hold on to this
and wait until the exact perfect moment to share it." Which means that I have like
a whole horde of really great songs on my laptop that haven't been shared with
the world and so what does that leave for YouTube? The crap? That's what I've
been sharing - just the crap! Anyway. So, basically, I got a new system planned and
here's what it is; I'm going to turn my Patreon into a
Secret Song Workshop Society. Basically what that means is, I'm still gonna be
writing music and sharing music and releasing music but my song workshop
Society is going to be where I share new demos of songs that I've just written
that aren't ready to be shared with the world.
That means when I write something that I really love I'm gonna be sharing it with
my secret song workshop Society so that I get a chance to talk to you about it
and find out your opinion. And really, I realized since being here that that's
like a huge part of my creative process. I really want opinions of the people who
matter to me *before* I put things to publish, you know? So I'm still gonna be
releasing songs on, you know, digital retailers like Spotify and iTunes and
probably an album in the future maybe! But for now I think what I really want
to do is create a little corner of the Internet
where I can share things in a safe way before it's permanently affixed to the

know, random stuff, lyric ideas, blogs, photographs, just whatever little tiny
things you won't find anywhere else, not on my Instagram, not on my YouTube, not on
my facebook - just for my secret song workshop Society so I would really love
if you have any interest in learning about songwriting, in sharing your
opinion, in sharing your songs - maybe we'll do some Q&A - some, you know, song
