Hey awesome ones. Today I hope this video inspires you to get out there and have
some fun. It's Friday night when we're filming. I
have just done several hours of bookkeeping and it's Friday night. It's
usually Bill and my date night but I am feeling tired and uninspired. I just want
to cuddle up in my bed and just rest and do nothing. Well you can't always just do
nothing. You know sometimes there's a street festival on and it comes by once
a year. And you know even though I have to do something with my hair and get
all dressed up and that I know, I know for a fact that after I'm out there for
about the first 20 minutes I'm gonna have some fun. So let's just kind of tag
along with us. There's actually 10 tips as to going to a festival or something,
you know comfy comfy shoes and all that kind of stuff that I'll talk about as
well. So come on tag along with us and it just starts in just a second.
All right it's, so I'm ready to go. I've got the energy up, but I know I'm gonna
have a great time. It's just dragging my butt out of that bed, saying I got the
energy and I do right now. So what am I going to wear to a Jazz Festival it's actually a
Jazz Festival, Street festival slash Jazz Festival and they say it's gonna rain,
but you know what for what they say it's going to rain, it's a 30% chance, I can
always run into a store or something. So I'm not taking my umbrella. It's the
evening right now. It's about 6 o'clock. So I'm not gonna take my sunglasses.
Basically what I'm saying is don't take anything that you really don't need. Now
I am taking my purse. I always like to take my cell phone and that sort of
thing. So I also like to make sure, it's gonna be a lot of crowds, the street has
actually been closed from traffic. So it's gonna be a lot of people around I
want to wear my purse in the front of me. You might want to wear a money belt or
something like that. Really comfy clothes, really comfy shoes. I've got some inserts
in these shoes they're super comfy and they actually have a memory foam in them.
So that's all grea. Tell you one more thing I'm not going to bring. Hurricane
come here for a second hun. I'm not taking Hurricane and I do,come here baby.
I do see a lot of people that bring their dogs to street festivals. I just
don't think it's a good idea. Hurricane gets really really, you get panicky don't
you? Yeah he does. He gets panicky .There's just too many feet. There's too many
people not watching where they're going. So I'm gonna suggest bring what I said,
but don't bring the little furry buddies. So something else that I'd like to bring.My
husband. Oh my gosh you're looking very dapper there.
I've got my jazz hat on. Do you like it? I do. I figure, hey I'm going to a Jazz
Street festival. Yeah I might as well look a little bit jazzy. I can't play any
instruments, but what the heck. When in Rome right. You'll fit right in there
I'm also bringing some cash cuz, just in case the machines
don't work or there's a power failure. Hey at least I've got a bit of cash so we
can get a good tasty beverage or two. That sounds great.
Alright so lets go. Oh my, oh boy look at those clouds. It's also a little bit windy.
Might get rained on. What do you think there? Yeah we might, but I think it's
worth it. Alright let's go. I here Hurricane barking in the background.
I don't think he's a happy camper. No he's not. All right we're ready to jazz it up.
At the jazz festival. All right the rain is starting to stop. Also look up
this street. I see some bongo drums .Okay it's gonna be fun.
Hey the sun's coming up and we found our first singer.
And I love these little shops.
Amazing kinds of things. It's not a thrift shop, it's actually like a craft shop.
All right so I just found my friend JD. And he has a pop-up store here. Awesome
look at my cool hat I bought and my sunglass. Sunglasses? Earrings. Sorry
I didn't wear earrings or hat here today.
Heather is fully loaded here. I know that we're here it's like you said it's Karma
Heather and Bill both of you were taking pictures of each other and standing long time here.
Otherwise I would have missed you guys, see you guys, see you guys standing here, come on
that's called karma. So can you really tell I'm having a good time already.
Oh my gosh. JD also had to give me this necklace. He's just a sweetheart. So
look behind me. It's so much fun.
I'm so glad I got out of bed.
Did J.D. just tell me about karma?
Coincidence? So there is so much awesome food here
available at the festivals. Let's take a look. They're gonna be served with
coleslaw and hickory chips. Then there is some lovely meetballs as well.
Beef honey garlic meatballs.
I found some health snacks here.
And with these crowds, Hurricane wouldn't stand a chance.
And what would a street festival be without Bill's favorite pizza slice.
Off my diet today.
So this is absolutely our favorite patio around where we live. And Billy? Loving it
As Heather said, my favorite patio. It's worth the walk to get here. You have a
nice nice cool drink and nice food. Hear some nice music on the way over. I'm
gonna take, enjoy the moments of life.
A lot of people milling around and having fun and so are we. I like my new hat.
A lovely summer evening. Nothing on tv I cound watch would be as good as this.
Starting to rain again.
Hurricane, are you a jazz dog. You look like a jazz dog. Oay so we
didn't really rhyme off all the ten things, but let's see if we can do them
right here now that we're home. It is time to go to sleep, but anyway number
one: wear comfortable shoes. Alright number two would be, you don't
bring the sunglasses the umbrella, but we didn't do that any of those kind of
things that you need. Number three would be bring some cash ,because yeah there
was a couple times we needed some cash. Yeah ,yeah some smaller vendors you know
it's easier just to pay cash. Yeah all right and then number four would be to
you know wear a safe purse. I know I do.
Number five would be, give yourself plenty of time for
waiting in line for any patios and that sort of thing cuz for sure it does take
a while here usually in line waiting. Number 6 would be explore. You know this
is the best street sales and you see all these cute little boutiques I showed a
few of them including the outside vendors and that sort of thing.
Number seven? You're doing pretty good. Okay number seven is eat some great food.
Those favorite pizza places there and the slices and you know it was really
fantastic and the mojitos were wonderful and that sort of thing. Number eight
would be to you know like talk to people. You know we were waiting in line to go
into a patio and then they had a table for four for the two of us and we went
to the people beside us and said come on. You know join us and let's chitchat. It
was so interesting. I think it's amazing when you sit down with people how you
find out ,wow they're, they're so great. People are....people are good. No matter
where you're from or you know people are good and they happen to be awesome over
fifty too. We didn't kind of put them on the video though. And number ten is, is....Was that ten?
We're at number 10 already. I'll have to play this video back. Maybe I missed number nine, but
anyway nine and ten are just do it. You know just get out there get your butt
out of bed. You know we're some crazy clothes and
and by all means have some fun. And you know what not only the street
festivals but there's sometimes food festivals there's also situations where
it's a little town. You know it's it's almost like all the farmers and the
bakers are all going out and showing their wears. So go out and have some
fun. So yeah, I think the one take away from this this night at the street
festival music festival we just went on was just people watching. I just, I just
love people watching you know. They were dancing in the street. I was watching all
these people dancing in the streets like no one was watching and whoa talk about
authentic selves. For sure. It's some real authentic selves out there and
I just love them. So yeah ,so until next time, we did see little Hurricane, now
