Youtube daily what Jun 28 2018

Hi. We received a question this week about when is it appropriate to

discipline a child or what age should you discipline a child? Now for Smarter

Parenting, and the way that we look at things, disciplining is one of those

things that you do after a behavior happens. And for us, our belief is that

it's best to address issues as they happen, but also, if you can prepare for

them before they happen that actually is better. And so

discipline itself is one of those areas where parents want to address a very

specific thing at a very specific time. For us we want to focus on teaching. So

teaching is something that spans all time, and it just happens all the time,

and in every situation, and as things pop up, you're constantly teaching. So if you

were to ask me the question, "When is it appropriate to begin teaching your child?"

I would say, "As soon as they're born you can start teaching them different skills

based on their developmental abilities and what they're able to do and you can

continue to teach." If you're gonna ask me, "When to discipline?" Then what you're

really asking me is, "When should I apply certain consequences for certain

behaviors?" And that's a whole different ballgame. So Effective Consequences and

working through that is a skill that's on the Smarter Parenting website (COMING FALL 2018) and

should help you determine what you should do when something happens.

Correcting Behaviors is also another skill that is tied in with this whole

idea of disciplining your child. Our approach again is about teaching and

teaching happens all the time. Anytime you're interacting with your

child, you are teaching. You're teaching something. You're modeling something. And

so this idea that we're just going to focus on these moments and these moments

are going to define the child's character through time is

misguided. And the reason it's misguided is because amid that, your child is

actually learning additional things. So my suggestion is to approach everything

from a teaching standpoint and not from a discipline standpoint. Now that may

sound counterproductive to a lot of parents and they may think, "Well, I need a

discipline." Yeah you do need to discipline, but if you are constantly in the mode of

thinking, "Okay everything I'm doing is teaching this child

something" then you're actually addressing problems before they arise.

And you're in this mindset of when something does happen that you can make

corrections and it's a lot easier to do. So remember you may think that parent, a

lot of time parents think that, "I'm going to give a consequence that they're going

to learn from this consequence." The reality is kids learn from different

experiences and you cannot decide what they're gonna learn from and what

they're not gonna learn from. So be in that teaching mindset, "I'm always

teaching. I'm always there to teach them something." And as discipline pops up,

because those are occasional things, then you address them that way. That's how I

would answer that question, "When is it appropriate to discipline your child?"

It's appropriate to discipline your child when those arise, but really,

parents who are more successful are in a teaching mode and they're constantly

teaching their children, alright. So that's it for us this week. Feel free to

visit the blog and don't forget to subscribe. And we'll have more

information on this on the blog.

After Maxine Waters Wins Primary Re-Election, Trump Knows Exactly What To Do - Duration: 2:42.

AFTER MAXINE WATERS WINS PRIMARY RE-ELECTION, TRUMP KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT TO DO.

President Trump sent out very sarcastic congratulations to his nemesis in Congress, Maxine Waters,

on her primary win.

"Congratulations to Maxine Waters, whose crazy rants have made her, together with Nancy

Pelosi, the unhinged FACE of the Democrat Party," he tweeted.

"Together, they will Make America Weak Again!

But have no fear, America is now stronger than ever before, and I'm not going anywhere!"

This was the most recent swipe that President Trump has taken at Waters, and Waters hasn't

been silent on the President either.

She was recently called to account for a Saturday rally where she encouraged her followers to

harass administration officials wherever she found them.

"Let's stay the course.

Let's make sure we show up wherever we have to show up and if you see anybody from that

Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you

create a crowd and you push back on them, and you tell them they're not welcome anymore,

anywhere," she shouted to cheering supporters.

"Mr. President, we will see you every day, every hour of the day, everywhere that we

are to let you know you cannot get away with this!"

Her antics caused the President to strike back on Twitter saying, "Congresswoman Maxine

Waters, an extraordinarily low IQ person, has become, together with Nancy Pelosi, the

Face of the Democrat Party.

She has just called for harm to supporters, of which there are many, of the Make America

Great Again movement.

Be careful what you wish for Max!" Trump tweeted Monday.

He also brought up Waters and other sympathizing congressmen at a campaign-style rally on Monday

night, commenting that the Democratic party is consumed with the idea of impeachment.

Waters comments encouraging antagonism against Trump officials also earned her a stern tongue

lashing from White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders on Monday.

"This weekend," Sanders said Monday, "a member of Congress called for people to 'push

back' and make clear to those serving their country in this administration that they are

not welcome anywhere, anytime, for anything."

"We are allowed to disagree, but we should be able to do so freely and without fear of

harm," Sanders said.

"And this goes for all people regardless of politics."

[Fire Emblem: Heroes] My Merging Plans + What i want to pull - Duration: 3:03.

Hey everyone! welcome to my video today i'll talk about plans for merging heroes

right now i have 3 heroes at +10 Palla, Cordelia and Catria

so that's my core team i'm using for arena but i'm looking to replace them eventually

Camilla is one hero i have at +7 right now she has a legendary weapon, so she can score

higher in arena than other fliers like Cherche so before she gets into my main team, i need

three more merges and a high score special skill

i'll probably just give her aether.

Clair is the other hero i have at +7, and she also has a legendary weapon

i'm not sure whether i want aether or galeforce for Clair, as both work fine with her weapon's

refinement she could also use distant counter.

so i hope i can get some hectors soon

Palla will probably stay in my main arena team for a while

but i'd like to replace her with Caeda eventually, or maybe a non-flier like Selena or Eirika

but i rarely pull from red orbs, so i don't have any other high merged red hero

Cherche i have at +9, and i'm just waiting for a perfect IVs one

right now she's +atk -spd, which is fine for a brave build

but i'd like to give her some kind of speedy hammer build.

so i'd like a non -spd one i don't think she's ever going back into my

main arena team tho.

Est is a hero i want to build, so she can be in a team with her sisters

but i haven't pulled an Est in a while.

i'll probably give her a brave build, with life and death

i'd also like to merge other fliers eventually, like Florina, Beruka and Shanna

but that's more of a long-term plan maybe if we get some demotions i could build

other fliers too, like Hinoka, Tana or Minerva .

and the last one is Serra.

i just love her i'm not sure what i'd want for her tho

probably a close counter build.

maybe with absorb, but fear, pain and gravity are pretty cool too

i don't really pull from a lot of colorless orbs tho, so i don't have any extra copies

for merges right now but i'd love to build her eventually.

and tomorrow we are getting a new legendary banner.

and i think i'll be pulling from green and blue orbs. maybe reds too

and what i want the most, from highest priority to the lowest, are:

Camillas and Clairs Legendary Hector for Distant counter fodder

Ests, and a good IVs Cherche Myrrh and Female Morgan

Lyns and Ikes, as fodder Maybe Caedas and Eirikas if i end up pulling

Red, and Pallas for goad fliers

so i hope i get lucky tomorrow.

So yeah, that was it for the video thank you for watching, and please consider

subscribing if you liked it here you can check out my schedule for the

week and here you can find some of my other videos

or you can go to my main youtube page, where i have everything organized

i really hope you enjoyed, and see you next time

What if the United States annexed the Yucatán? - Duration: 8:05.

Manifest destiny

The belief that American settlers were destined to expand across North America was an integral part of American culture in the 19th century

The destiny was vague

some viewed it as a mission to extend Republican democracy to people's across the continent while others viewed it as God's wish to civilize the

people of American institutions

Swing them across the new world

Various treatises were created to further this idea

buying the Louisiana territory from France and

Florida from Spain as well as fixing banners to extend American influence from sea to shining sea in this episode

We'll be looking at one more potential target for this belief system the Yucatan, Peninsula

The Yucatan had appealed to the United States for annexation as they desperately needed military assistance against a local mine

Uprising when this was brought to the United States government

President James K pulk mildly approve of the offer and it passed the House of Representatives but was blocked by the Senate

Signing the war in Mexico as their primary concern but for the sake of alternate history

Let's look at what would happen if the United States annexed the u Cataumet public, but first we need some history

The u khatallah was twice a republic during the 19th century the first in 1823 were joined the Mexican

Federation following independence

Mexico had gained independence Paine in 1821 as the first Mexican Empire

this Empire led by Emperor Agustin the first quickly had massive stability issues in

August the following year a plan to overthrow Agustin was discovered which encompass 16 members of Congress in late October the same year

Agustin had dissolved Congress as they were held like criticizing him and his policies

This led to revolts all across the empire and him eventually being deposed this also led to the formation of the Central American

Republic wouldn't encompass all lands between Mexico and Panama which have been unofficial provinces in the empire

From there Mexico was formed as a republic with the new constitutions put in place in 1824

This Constitution was repealed in 1835 putting in an era of the central's government

this centralist government caused a massive amount of rebellion and a republic declaration within the following years a

Rebellious star in the states of zakat Angus and Tabasco switch combined with a successful Texan Revolution 1835

Heavily weakened the government's control in the outer regions of the country when the French invaded Mexico in 1838

This is only furthered weakened

The central's control over the country sparking more rebellions in the Rio Grande and another rebellion to Bosco's the coton declare their independence

again

In 1841 sign the stripping away of local autonomy as the main cause

The original Central's government had accepted the bouton independence in some capacity

but when set to honest stages Kuhn 1841

He radicalize Essentials government and send an army to retake the territory

They managed to fight back against the Mexican army by were facing severe economic

Issues due to the bloc in Mexican trade and later blocking by the United States government and a war against local Mayan in

Desperation the Yucatan government pleaded with various governments for military assistance in exchange for sovereignty

But this alternate scenario what if the United States Senate passed the resolution?

to annex the Yucatan for this scenario to work within reality a few things would need to be changed first President Polk dies in

1846 shortly after the war with Mexico starts and Vice President George and Alice takes power

This isn't that hard to see happening as Polk's health was rather poor at the time and he had a habit of overworking himself

Once he left office at the end of a term

He died one month after Dallas was much more of an expansion on opportu sin nature

So long as the mexican-american war is going on

he will likely claim that acts in the Yucatan is a vital goal in defeating Mexico and

second the US government would have to be

partially blind in its

Understanding of the Mayan conflict the mind were far more numerous in any of the native tribes that the United States had dealt with

Previously and they were masters at juggle SATs. Guerrilla warfare

Was the Yucatan got some Mexican weaponry and small contingent so troops they managed to push back to mind from the major settlements

But they still had large control over the territory

This would be a constant and bloody conflict that'll last for decades in the territory in our timeline

It was until 1933

Now the last mine uprising occurred nearly 100 years from its start now, we know this in hindsight

but it is easily possible to imagine the US government seen them as an easy enemy and not taking the conflict as seriously as

It should have been so in this scenario

The USA stumbles into the Yucatan sometime in late

1847 and early

1848 and the supply of guns and a few troops allows the local

Yucatan to do some where to what they did in our timeline and I recapture significant parts of the peninsula

Though the mines Hill control large was a territory that's enough for the u.s

To convince themselves for a while that the Yucatan is easily winnable with that come to 1850

Missouri Compromise

The Yugo town would be allocated as a slave state which we still have the support of the local

population to some degree one of the large

Problems in the war against the Mayan was that they want to use them as a labor force to form the cash cups of sugar

and Hana Qin

It would be unlikely that the Yucatan would be a minute as a state in whole

More than likely it would either be kept as a popular sovereignty

Territory or a minute the whole region's the state even if the control is only nominal it's possible for this as well

Since the lengths of the works of Texas and even large parts of Texas itself aren't very suitable for slavery crop production

Regions of the northern Mexican states are possibly Baja

California as a whole will likely be annex in the scenario as well as a different

Negotiator would be able to secure more land from the district Mexican government and Santa Anas government was willing to see the underpopulated land

But what does this mean for the future?

well

the underlying political causes of the American Civil War would only be amplified in the scenario as

the drive for slave or free state balance and government would come to a head and the cause of

Occupying and protecting these new territories all of which has significant native

Populations and a large number of Catholic Mexicans would prove a major slaying point between the public it would be an unnecessary

war to wage in the Yucatan in the eyes of many and support back home for these services of

adventures likely when to hold for very long

By the time of the American Civil War the position in the Yucatan would be interesting to say the least

The territory would largely be sympathy to the southern cause as the southern population already had a style serfdom before the annexation

And the military presence would likely be of southern origin if man by a volunteer army

but the main concern for the yucatan would be of

Protection the mind would still be a present issue to the populace as you would be impossible before they pacify them just due to disease

terrain and the skill of the Mayan people

Regardless of which site the Yucatan goes with if one at all

Protection for the region would be severely limited and that weakness could very well be exploited as the military focus is back at home

but by the time of the Civil War local authorities within the newly conquered Mexican territory would likely attempt to build up a case for

reunification with Mexico

Sympathies went live with the Union or Confederate more than likely as the local population would be

considered largely second-class citizens within the United States

With many cultural and religious differences between the two

Mexico could possibly fund separate groups within its former land and

Possibly even wage war to take back the land but beyond that it's hard to say

I hope you liked this brief scenario about what would happen

If the United States annexed the Yucatan Republic if you'd like to learn a little bit more

If you'd like to hear another scenario about the United States annexing the whole of Mexico click here for the episode they did about that

Marcos Rojo reveals what Lionel Messi told Argentina players during half-time talk against Nigeria - Duration: 2:05.

Marcos Rojo has revealed that Lionel Messi urged his Argentina teammates to 'calm down' at half-time before their dramatic 2-1 victory over Nigeria on Tuesday evening

Jorge Sampaoli's side needed a win to progress to the last-16 stage and Messi put Argentina ahead in the 14th minute with a sublime goal

But Victor Moses equalised for Nigeria from the penalty spot shortly after the break to set up a tense second half

The Super Eagles appeared to be holding out for the draw they required but Rojo struck in the 86th minute to snatch the win for Argentina

Messi has been accused of failing to lead Argentina but the Barcelona forward was seen speaking to his teammates in the tunnel at half-time shortly before they walked on to the pitch

And Rojo has revealed that Messi's words had a huge impact on Argentina's players

'Messi came up to us and told us to calm down and not be stressed,' Rojo told TyC Sports

'We felt nervous and that message helped us a lot and gave me personally a huge confidence boost

'Messi is our captain and he's the best captain in the world, it was amazing to score that goal

'Messi told everyone that it was either life or death. It could've gone badly. We could've conceded but Leo was stubborn

'He told me to run forward. Even [Javier] Mascherano. He told everyone to attack no matter what

He truly read the game and risks.  'He's a leader. The best.'

What Should I Look for in Stock Trading Software? - Duration: 4:36.

- What should you look for in stock trading software?

Quite a bit.

This is the make or break kind of piece to your trading puzzle.

There's a lot of bad software out there.

There's a lot of bad platforms, and frankly, I got fed up with it.

That's why we created StocksToTrade, because this is the one platform that is made for

low price stock trading.

Obviously most platforms have all the same stuff, like news, charts, level two, all integrated.

The difference that you have to think about with penny stock trading, if you're gonna

become a penny stock trader, is that most platforms don't give a shit about penny stocks.

So, many of the biggest movers literally just will not show up on the platform.

If you're looking for big percent gainers, if you compare stocks to trade, big percent

gainers versus other platforms, other platforms will miss some OTC stocks, some pink sheet

stocks, stocks that are traded very low price, versus this platform is specifically designed

for us.

That's why we created it.

I tried working with other platforms.

I didn't say, "Hey I want to create a platform.

"I want to spend millions of dollars and years "of fucking hassle."

I came to this conclusion only because we tried working with other platforms, and no

one wanted to focus on penny stocks.

The whole world, in case you don't realize this by now, hates on penny stocks.

Therein lies the opportunity, because all the richest, all the most knowledgeable, all

the best traders that I know, ignore this niche.

So your competition are fucking idiots.

Picture the hyenas in The Lion King.

Like Ed, that's the typical penny stock trader.

Ed.

If you go to my conference, the most popular thing at my conference very year is when we

give out free pens.

If I hold up a pen, all the little hyenas are loving it, for a stupid little thing that's

made in China for three cents, and they're just dumb hyenas.

It's not their fault, they're trying to scrape by, like they're living off scraps.

That's what most penny stock traders are.

So, thinking about all this, if you have a platform that has tools and news and social

media scanning, where you can actually search through Twitter, you can search through all

of social media, using filters.

There's also 40 plus filters built in, scanning stocks, the biggest percent gainers, intraday,

over three days, over five days, these are my 40 plus scans that I use everyday to find

the hottest stocks.

That is what is most needed in a platform.

You need to use this to find the best trades.

If you use a platform that is sub-par, if you use something that is not specifically

designed for this, you might miss a really good trade, and I hate seeing that, I hate

underappreciated opportunities, underutilized strategies.

I hate missed opportunities, so use StocksToTrade.

There's so many videos on it, there's tutorials, my student Tim Bowen who's a part time trader,

is the lead trainer on StocksToTrade.

If you check out StocksToTrade Pro, he'll help you get all into the platform in ways

that are really beneficial to you.

We're just getting started.

There's gonna be broker integration, there's so much more stuff, paper money where you

can actually practice with fantasy cash.

That's very good for beginners, too.

So, as we build StocksToTrade more, you're gonna love it.

So start using it today.

Start getting used to it, because it does take some time to learn a new platform, and

I don't want you missing out.

I don't want you missing opportunities.

That's the only platform that I would use.

It's in my own best interest to create my most successful students.

It's good for my ego, it's good for my business, it's good for you.

So, please don't fight me on this, use StocksToTrade.

We built it for you to make life easier.

In the past I've had 30 websites that I had to use to research stocks.

You don't have to use any of that anymore.

It's all built into StocksToTrade.

You're welcome.

What Kate Middleton's Title Could Be Once The Queen Dies? - Duration: 3:30.

When Kate Middleton married Prince William in 2011, she took the title of the Duchess

of Cambridge as William became the Duke of Cambridge.

However, that could all change once the Queen dies, with Kate and William's titles changing

to reflect the shift in the line of succession.

Once the Queen dies, her eldest son Prince Charles will become the King of England.

Since the Prince of Wales title isn't Charles's per se, but rather given to the heir apparent

to the throne, he will vacate it the moment he ascends to the throne.

That means that Prince William will become the new Prince of Wales.

This protocol has been in place since the 14th century.

However, there is no automatic succession to the Prince of Wales title—the heir apparent

has to be created Prince of Wales by the monarch, with the title only becoming 'merged in

the crown' and renewed at the pleasure of the Sovereign.

That is why Prince Charles became the 21st Prince of Wales not on the day of his birth,

but rather at the age of nine in 1958.

He was only invested i.e. had the ceremony acknowledging the creation of a new Prince

of Wales, 11 years later in 1969.

Once the Queen dies and Prince Charles becomes the King of England and creates Prince William

as the new Prince of Wales, Kate's title will reflect this change.

She will most likely become the Princess of Wales.

Technically, Prince Charles's wife, Camilla Parker-Bowles, is the current Princess of

Wales, but she uses the feminine equivalent of Charles's Duke of Cornwall title, the

Duchess of Cornwall.

The Duchess of Cornwall reportedly doesn't use the Princess of Wales title out of respect

for Princess Diana.

However, it is thought Kate Middleton will take and use the title of Princess of Wales

once Prince William becomes the Prince of Wales.

It's important to note that Kate Middleton isn't technically a princess, just as Diana

wasn't.

You can only have the prince or princess title before your name if you were born into the

Royal Family.

For example Princes William and Harry and Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice will be called

as such for the continuation of their lives, unless they become the King or Queen of England.

So, despite the incredible popularity of 'Princess Di', Diana's title was merely the feminine

version of her husband's title, the Princess of Wales.

She was Diana, the Princess of Wales, from the moment she married the Prince of Wales,

but she lost the royal status of 'Her Royal Highness' upon divorce.

Camilla Parker-Bowles became the new Princess of Wales when she married Prince Charles in

2005.

Kate Middleton's official title will change again if Prince William becomes the King of

England.

She would become Her Majesty Queen Consort Catherine VI, while her eldest son Prince

George would become the new Prince of Wales.

All of this doesn't mean much for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

When the couple married in the 2018 Royal Wedding ceremony, they became the Duke and

Duchess of Sussex.

However, once the Queen dies, Prince Harry is too far down the line of succession to

see a shift in his official title.

The sixth-in-line to the throne will remain the Duke of Sussex.

What Your Defense Mechanism Is: Based On Your Zodiac Sign - Duration: 10:40.

A person's response to

stress and tension is known as a defense mechanism.

These behaviors can often be subconscious, with the subject unaware of the way they're

dealing with adversity.

Other defense mechanisms are completely intentional.

As with all major personality traits, every individual person is different.

However, your zodiac sign might indicate which defense mechanism you use most often.

ARIES MEN: COUNTERPHOBIC ACTION When an Aries man is under stress, he seeks

out what's causing the problem and confronts it immediately, especially if the stressor

is a fear.

Aries men, like all cardinal signs, are impatient and don't like to be held back by emotional

problems, so they often bite the bullet and charge head-on into their problems to get

over what bothers them.

While this is certainly an effective approach, it can sometimes lead to more pain than necessary

to resolve the issue.

ARIES WOMEN: IMPULSIVE ACTION One thing unites the two halves of Aries,

and that is action.

Aries women respond to fear and stress by acting at the first opportunity they get,

often before there are any thoughts of consequences.

This may provide momentary relief, but it leaves the cause of the issue unresolved in

most cases.

TAURUS MEN: DENIAL Taurus is known as the most stalwart and stubborn

of the signs, and nowhere is that more apparent than a Taurus man's ability to deny reality

when it's hurtful.

Denial is one of the most well-known defense mechanisms, but nobody can take it to the

extent that a Taurus can.

Ignoring what's right in front of you may feel better now, but it can't last forever.

TAURUS WOMEN: DISPLACEMENT Displacement is a coping mechanism wherein

an individual takes out emotions they feel towards one thing out on another.

Taurus women are as grounded and stable as their sign entails, but once they're pushed,

they have quite the temper.

Taurus doesn't like change or unnecessary conflict, so often a Taurus woman will take

her anger towards an important figure in her life out on an undeserving, safer target.

GEMINI MEN: GARRULOUSNESS Gemini love to talk, be social, and beloved

by the crowd.

When things get personal or stressful, a Gemini man will chatter away at often unrelated,

superfluous topics to keep the focus away from their personal problems or insecurities.

This prattle is easily spotted and appears nervous, but as long as the conversation stays

away from his personal life, a Gemini man doesn't care.

GEMINI WOMEN: REACTION FORMATION This coping mechanism means to act completely

opposite of an urge.

Gemini is, after all, known to be rather two-faced (that being the trademark of the sign).

Gemini women are likely to act overly polite or friendly to someone who has angered them

as a sort of outlet for their dislike (or hatred) of that person.

CANCER MEN: INTROJECTION Introjection is when a person takes ideas

or qualities from the world around them and changes themselves to match.

This is almost always subconscious.

Cancer men do this most commonly, as they are sensitive individuals and find it easier

to emulate someone else than deal with their own problems.

CANCER WOMEN: UNDOING Cancer women are like Cancer men in their

sensitivity, and when one of these women does something they feel is wrong, they habitually

try to make things better by doing something good to reverse their mistakes.

In their mind, it's a way to atone.

This defense mechanism is known as undoing.

LEO MEN: COMPENSATION Leo men are strong but have highly inflated

egos, and they deflate easily.

When a Leo Man is bothered by weakness or fear, he attempts to compensate by focusing

on his strengths and building those positive qualities up.

This draws attention away from the weakness, and can often include excessive boasting to

hide insecurity.

If you're aware of it an handle it properly, compensation can be a positive defense mechanism.

LEO WOMEN: SUBLIMATION As fire signs, all Leos are passionate and

have strong emotions.

Leo women deal with their often very powerful stressors in one of the most positive ways,

known as sublimation.

This allows people to act on unacceptable urges by doing something productive, such

as using an outlet like art or a martial art instead of resorting to violence when angry.

This defense mechanism is mature and provides a healthy outlet for the strong emotions of

a Leo.

VIRGO MEN: INTELLECTUALIZATION Virgos aren't very emotional people, so

when heavy emotions come up, Virgo is likely to use logic and reason to isolate themselves

from the real problem.

This can range anywhere from talking about something that makes them feel smart and secure

in using complicated jargon to push people away.

VIRGO WOMEN: PASSIVE AGGRESSION Virgo women are hardworking and smart, but

they get very strong and passionate emotions.

They don't feel safe expressing their anger, however, and it's often left to simmer.

This results in passive-aggressive behavior toward the one the Virgo is upset with.

LIBRA MEN: RATIONALIZATION Like Virgo men, Libra men take an unemotional

approach to coping with distress.

Rationalization is a way for sensitive Libra to avoid dealing with the consequences of

their decisions, something Libras is notoriously bad at, by using logic to explain away any

wrongdoing.

LIBRA WOMEN: ALTRUISM Altruism is a mature defense mechanism used

by Libra women.

These sensitive and caring women are likely to help others and focus on those in need

around them in order to cope with their own pain.

Alongside the Leo woman's sublimation, this is one of the most healthy and positive defense

mechanisms.

SCORPIO MEN: PREVARICATION There's nothing Scorpio does better than

a lie.

Scorpio men in distress lie to others and even themselves as much as necessary to avoid

the problem, be it emotional turmoil or criticism.

Ironically, Scorpio hates liars, but similarly to Taurus or Leo, they're stubborn and have

too large of an ego to confront the truth.

SCORPIO WOMEN: CONFABULATION Similarly to Scorpio men, Scorpio women lie

as a defense mechanism.

Unlike Scorpio men, Scorpio women do it unknowingly.

When faced with adversity or stress, a Scorpio woman will subconsciously change events in

her head to something favorable, sometimes extravagantly so.

SAGITTARIUS MEN: HUMOR Sagittarius men don't like taking themselves

too seriously or dwelling on problems for too long.

Humor is their go-to defense mechanism, as they prefer to laugh at the few things that

do make them upset and move on.

SAGITTARIUS WOMEN: AIM INHIBITION Like Sagittarius men, Sagittarius women don't

dwell on problems for long and tend to be optimists.

When a Sagittarius woman meets a stressor or a roadblock, she simply adapts and changes

her plans to get around the issue.

Her aims are flexible, and she can change when a problem comes up.

CAPRICORN MEN: PROJECTION Projection is when you project your negative

qualities onto someone else and criticize them for it, rather than looking inwards and

dealing with self-critique.

Capricorn men are sensitive and have large egos, so they are bad at critiquing themselves

without getting hurt.

CAPRICORN WOMEN: COMPARTMENTALIZATION Capricorn women, like all Capricorns, are

hard workers and prefer efficiency.

These women compartmentalize the contradictory parts of themselves to keep them separate

so they can accomplish their goals without conflict.

AQUARIUS MEN: IDENTIFICATION Aquarius men are unique and special, but very

prone to insecurity as they stick out like a sore thumb.

They cope with stress by subconsciously modeling themselves after and changing themselves to

be like other people in their life that they see as better than them or more important.

AQUARIUS WOMEN: FANTASY Aquarius women are big dreamers and have a

fantastic imagination, so it comes naturally that these women would put that to good use

during times of adversity.

Fantasy as a defense mechanism is when a person focuses on an imagined scenario to cope with

current difficulties.

PISCES MEN: TEMPORAL REGRESSION Pisces is arguably the most sensitive sign

in the Zodiac, and Pisces men respond to stress and adversity much like Aquarius women do.

Temporal Regression is when a person focuses on an earlier time period in life and changes

their behavior to match this time period; childhood is the most common example.

This is mostly used to avoid problems, as Pisces hates conflict.

PISCES WOMEN: AFFILIATION Almost all Pisces are sensitive and friendly

by nature.

Pisces women use this quality in times of stress to seek comfort and counsel from loved

and trusted friends and family.

This is among the most healthy and mature defense mechanisms.

Does your sign match up with how you deal with stress?

How about your friends?

Spread this around and learn more about yourself and your loved ones through your signs!

Some artists say: What's the point? - Duration: 6:30.

a lot of people will say things like "I want to be an artist but why should I

bother trying if no one wants to buy it?" or "why should I write and send

newsletters when people immediately unsubscribe?" "why should I post my art on

Instagram when no one cares?" " there's so much artwork out there that the stuff

that I do is really just a tiny drop in a gigantic painty ocean." I'm pretty

sure even the biggest artists feel this way sometimes. I'm pretty sure. for

example, when YouTube demonetized every channel that didn't meet their new

threshold, people were understandably upset. even though it really didn't

make a huge difference monetarily, it still sucks when something is taken from

you while you're working really really hard to meet this moving goalpost.

it upset people. and there were a lot of moral police that would say "if you're

motivated by money then you're doing it for the wrong reasons." everyone

knows that people take up skilled hobbies for a reason. I'm not gonna sit

here and preach that artists should just enjoy the process while the world gets

to consume the work for free. no one needs that kind of reminder. it's pretty normal

to be motivated by external rewards. it really is. I mean, think about how many

people would continue to work at their day jobs after their employer stops

paying them. I think everyone has these thoughts and it's really not that big of

a deal. I'm kind of feeling similarly about

social media lately. I know that I should probably post things on Instagram

regularly or tweet something. it doesn't help that Facebook bothers me endlessly

about my inactivity. it's always sending me messages like 'you haven't posted in

this many days', even though I did. or you know, 'this

many people are waiting for you to post something', you know? it kind of makes me

feel inadequate and its really annoying. but for me... the thing about that voice

that tells you that no one cares if you post art is that, well, maybe then I

shouldn't worry about it? I'll just be over here working on stuff

that does still interest me until that other stuff starts to be interesting

again. because I know that I will eventually start posting things and

putting more effort into videos and painting

actual paintings. I know that I will eventually do it because if I gave up... if

I stopped wanting to make youtube videos because my channel isn't growing fast

enough or at all... if I stopped making art because it can't support me financially

and it's too much of a downer... the alternative is that there's gonna be a

huge empty chunk of my life in which I'm doing nothing. nothing. and you know there

are some days where my body and my mind would really rather me just not do

anything. I am privileged in that I do get a regular paycheck for my day job

(that's what that's for) so if that whole "you have to be motivated to make your

art because otherwise you don't get paid" piece of advice that is everywhere

doesn't work for you (because you don't get paid and that in itself is not very

motivating), I just hope that you're able to recognize whether you're tempted to

give up because it's no longer 'for you', or if you're just punishing yourself for

struggling so much.

anyway. I am painting a cat. this is a little painting five inches by five

inches, and I modeled this cat after our neighbor's cat who we see outside a lot.

he is incredibly fat and he's very cute. and this little painting is actually

based on a dream I had where I had this huge Emperor moth crawling along

the floor in my bedroom and so I picked it up. but when I picked it up, (because it

was a dream) it turned into a chubby little cat with wings. Emperor

moth wings. so I guess i decided to paint it because why not? right?

what was 'the point' of painting this? cause I could? because I commit

myself to creating something at least once a week? because I work really well

with deadlines and when I have a weekly or semi weekly deadlines it actually

really works for me and motivates me to go and that is the point. that is why I

paint things and that's not always motivating but again, it's easy to

motivate yourself when you consider the other option which is nothing. or maybe

it's just time to do something else? there! anyway thanks for watching this

rambly video and I will see you in the next one

What is the Most Powerful Animal? - Duration: 2:36.

In a battle royale for the most powerful animal, what species would win?

The Asian elephant?

The tiger?

The saltwater crocodile?

Evolution has nudged wild creatures to hone their blows, bites, and brute strength for survival—

but in the end, who puts the "king" in animal kingdom depends on what kind of strength you're looking at:

Punches and Kicks

The red kangaroo's kick delivers a bone-shattering 759 pounds of force.

The average human gym rat, who lacks the training to focus their blow,

would be kicked out faster than a bad guy in a Bruce Lee film.

But a taekwondo master with a black belt—one with a 136-mile-per-hour kick

that hits opponents with 2,300 pounds of force— might just go toe to paw with the roo in the ring.

Lifting

An Asian elephant's trunk has 150,000 muscles.

That nose alone can move 770 pounds—it's strong enough to uproot a tree.

But in 2016, English strongman Eddie Hall set the current world record for a dead lift

by hoisting 1,102.3 pounds—more than the weight of a concert grand piano.

Bite Strength

A Tasmanian devil can open its jaws 80 degrees to chomp carrion snacks or rivals' faces.

But that's nothing compared to the saltwater crocodile.

The croc has a literal ton of brute force in its jaw—2,020 pounds of bite force.

That's more than six times its closest competitor—the tiger.

Strength-To-Weight Ratio

The biggest animals often weigh the most, making them relatively weak for their size.

A mantis shrimp, on the other hand, delivers a punch with a force more than 3,000 times its weight.

An oribatid mite—which is shorter than a tenth of an inch—can bench-press nearly 1,200 of its fellows.

So what species is the strongest animal?

Humans who properly trained won two out of our four competitions,

so Homo sapiens technically take the title.

But if you're not a world record holder for strength or haven't spent decades mastering a fighting form,

maybe avoid tiffs with red kangaroos, elephants, crocodiles, and mantis shrimp.

How To Use IGTV: What To Upload on Instagram TV and Why (Algorithm Update July 2018) - Duration: 7:09.

hey guys is Mike here welcome back to my... I just woke up from my bed I

feel like sometimes I woke up with a great energy maybe not we need to

talk about IGTV it's kind of like a mess sorry guys

IGTV new Instagram app separate app seriously is just awesome to see there's

friendly competition if that's really friendly

I don't exactly sure but I don't have to explain much about IGTV

and apparently Instagram is pushing it down to your throat vertical video is the

key right so a lot of people confuse how you're able to turn horizontal videos

into vertical videos which is they thought it is impossible a lot of us haven't

really utilized Instagram stories to create cinematic to create something

interesting because I've seen amazing people

photographers creators videographers already did that a lot to their

Instagram stories but still a lot of people don't really utilize that so when

it comes to officially launches of a bigger platform like IGTV people start

to whine about the fact that they don't they don't like vertical video Instagram

stories has been there for about a year and a half or even more than that so why

are we complaining about vertical videos like this is not Instagram stories I

mean great like you have a warm up warm up in your Instagram stories to practice

all your video skills storytelling skills now it is time to group all the

storytelling into one place and that is IGTV how you actually able to turn all this

little sequence into a complete video maybe a minute or two or for normal

users like us probably 10 minutes majority of them don't really know how

to use this you know IGTV to really utilize its functionality to create an

engaging environment to really lure people to watching their video

because basically what they posted as I say is anything they could find on their

phone anything they could find on their stories already basically they're

repeating everything I feel like yeah you can definitely crop your YouTube

video into vertical which is a little bit awkward if you're filming in

horizontal yeah it's not a problem about technical way you can do it with any

software you wanted to do but my point is that is that video really fits to the

IGTV environment because IGTV apparently announced they love to see

more how-to tutorial documentation of lifestyles Instagram make it clear what

they need for their content right now sorry guys right now so don't repeating

stories in your IGTV if you're really getting serious for IGTV I love

to create like sequence and I'm going to create a quick attention-seeking

you know like a vlog YouTube probably love and encouraging you to have more

watch time more you know like audience retainment whatever they call it

but on Instagram they didn't really say that like yeah 10 minutes

some people can upload up to 30 minutes an hour it depends on the size of their

account for us normally 10 minutes or 15 attention is so short on Instagram

already a minute video people don't really care to even watch the whole thing

people don't even care to scroll and look at your story for 15 seconds and

then move on to the next one unless they have no friends on their Instagram or

they have plenty of time to watch you don't just go there and create like long

videos without any transition have some transitions have a storytelling is a

storytelling after all find it ideally you probably could post about a minute

to two and I think that's perfect I think even in two minutes you can create a lot

of sequence because my golden rule is every five to eight seconds change a

transition and maybe you could do a zoom in zoom out if you're doing vlogging

zoom in zoom out zoom in zoom out that's why I did to all my YouTube videos like

when I stare something for too long I feel bored if it's just the same screen

insert b-rolls is important I don't have b-rolls today probably I

should show my art yeah come on yeah you can definitely follow my Instagram @mikewenjinsoo

and check out more digital art so like I recently posted video talking about oh

keep touching the hair talking about you know how do i remake my digital art and the

video is not merely about my tutorial but it's about me showing okay I woke up

like what I'm doing right now so I give a storytelling so I woke up it's like

okay guys today what we're gonna do is raining so I'm not going out let's let's

do the redo the whole visual thing so I show a little bit tutorial I

show the before and after and I show me okay I'm done right now you guys

should check out in a storytelling way that has a flow out there and of course

use hashtags people in my first video I didn't know we can use hashtags so I

didn't get the enough amount of exposure and I just realized we can use

hashtags so I used a couple of hashtags that's suitable for that video

and then someone else follow me and it's a big feature account the videos that

using the hashtag will appear in the hashtag feed but the bad thing about

this is that if once you posted that video you can't you can't edit your video

description I try it on my computer with my chrome and of course I tried with my

phone I can't do anything even though they give you edit but it gives me error

when I tried to load so it's nothing IGTV is pretty new so I can't say much about

that but I already uploaded two videos and see okay how things going on it looks

like it really get the eyeball if you use hashtags it really get the eyeball if your

video is great a lot of people don't see that the benefit of having IGTV and

Instagram first of all some people don't like to see videos on their photo feed

so if you move every single videos like from now on you everyone just start

slowly moving videos to IGTV it will be a better place for you to just focusing

on visuals so Instagram at the end of the day it's a visual app no matter how it

tried to turn itself to be multi social media we have stories by the way we have

Instagram live and now we have IGTV to create a wonderful narrative for

yourself so I will give it an 8 out of 10 the

workflow is simple the only thing that I don't like is I I can't really edit my

videos and of course it's a little bit difficult because I can't upload from my

computer I have to save it to my phone and upload it I find it much more

easier to produce then YouTube videos because I would actually produce a

shorter videos and on my IGTV so you can subscribe hit the notification bell

so you wouldn't miss any content from Mike The Dope Toast have you utilized IGTV

yet? and like it share it out with your friends I'll see you guys in

the next one so peace out good bye

What is GAMESALAD?! - Softlocked - Duration: 2:30.

If you have a hunger that can only be satisfied through creation, but aren't quite sure

how to code, GameSalad is an entree you should order up.

The engine was developed by Gendai Games, and saw its first open-beta in 2009.

The following year, the team saw fit to change their name to match their flagship software

and released a "Free to Make" model, allowing anyone to download the basic membership to

publish games to iOS.

Unfortunately, the company has since switched to a subscription model that's done away

with inclusivity, but it does offer a short sampling before it starts administering charges.

Today, GameSalad Basic has all the functionality you would expect from the engine, but games

can only be published on their dedicated GameSalad Arcade: a website hosting games produced with

the software and an excellent resource to review what can be done with it.

As their website outlines, the basic membership will run you something vaguely less than seventeen

dollars a month when paid annually.

And we're talking American dollars there.

But for an additional eight dollars, you can gain access to GameSalad Pro, which offers

unrestricted access to all publishing platforms and priority on the technical support queue.

GameSalad also has a curriculum for academic institutions, which it hopes can be a practical

teaching tool for computer science principles.

The price of admission is pretty high, but as an individual, that's not the deal you're

looking for: the free trial for basic is where your attention should go.

Similar to GameMaker Studio, the software is targeted towards folks who are inexperienced

with programming and want to develop mobile and web-based titles through a visual, drag-and-drop

approach.

It's available for Mac and Windows, and has the capacity to publish across iOS, Android,

web and PC if the price is right.

For those who want to step their game up with more advanced functionality, the software

also boasts an expressions editor with a functions library: opening the door for complex behaviour

and math.

If you aren't quite sure what you're doing, their official website has a Cookbook available

that'll share a few recipes.

There's also documentation for folks who want to teach themselves, and tutorials for

those who want to be taught by someone else.

Unless your school is providing access to a subscription through its educational offerings,

GameSalad is a costly call with so many free and permanent licenses available by its competitors,

but since it takes fifteen minutes for a day of the free trial to be exhausted, one could

spend a few years picking away at a game in ten-minute intervals and presumably do it

all for free.

In either case, though, if you decide to check it out, be sure to LETTUCE know how it goes!

What is the Best CINEMATIC Shutter Speed for Video – How Film Shutter Angles Affect the Film Look - Duration: 7:42.

That's your shutter, and be forewarned there's gonna be a lot of numbers, a lot of fractions.

So get your thinking hat on, let's do this.

Hey everyone, Camber here, welcome back.

Today we are talking about shutter speed and how it affects your video.

And if you're new here, this channel is all about teaching you how to use your camera

to make good videos, so if that's you, consider subscribing.

Before we get started, know that frame rate and shutter speed are NOT the same thing.

Your frame rate is the amount of individual frames recorded per second, whereas your shutter

speed is the length of time that each of those frames is exposed to light.

The shutter is a physical mechanism in front of your camera sensor that moves out of the

way to expose your sensor to light for a certain period of time and then moves back in front

of your sensor to stop the exposure of that frame.

And this controls how long the light hits your camera sensor.

So a longer exposure will result in more light hitting your camera sensor and a brighter

image, and a shorter exposure time will result in less light hitting the sensor and a darker image

The shutter speed is displayed on your camera as fractions of a second.

And since stops of light are based on a doubling or halving of the amount of light let in when

taking a photo or video, you can know exactly how any change in shutter speed will affect

your exposure because any doubling or halving of your shutter speed will result in a one-stop

change of light.

So if your current shutter speed is set to 1/400 of a second and you're on the "-1" on

your exposure meter, then changing your shutter speed to 1/200 of a second will result in

your exposure meter going to "0" because you divided your previous shutter by 2, which

would keep the shutter open twice as long and double the amount of light let in.

Conversely, if your shutter speed was set to 1/400 of a second and you were on the "+2"

on your exposure meter, then changing the shutter speed to 1/800 of a second would result

in the meter going to "+1" because you doubled the speed letting in half as much light.

You would then need to double the shutter speed again to 1/1600 of a second in order

to decrease by one more stop of light and bring your exposure meter to "0."

And aside from changing the length of time that light hits your sensor, the shutter speed

also has a stylistic effect in changing the motion blur of your images.

So with a very fast shutter speed, any motion in your shot gets frozen and looks very crisp;

but with a very slow shutter speed, any motion that's in your shot begins to get blurred.

And with photography you can choose any shutter speed you want depending on the style

you're going for, however with video you are much more limited.

The most common shutter speeds used in video are based on the 180 degree rule, which is

choosing a shutter speed that is doubled your frame rate meaning that you would use a shutter

speed of 1/60 of a second if you were shooting at 30 frames per second.

And as you'll find in many areas of video, many common practices come from the days of using film.

Film motion cameras used a physical rotary shutter where part of the shutter was a hollow

semicircle, and that's where the degrees came from.

During the first 180 degrees of rotation, the film was exposed, and during the second

180 degrees of rotation, the film was covered with no exposure to the film.

At this time the film was advanced to the next frame because film cameras need time

to physically move the film down for the next exposure, and because of this there couldn't

be shutter angles higher than 180 degrees for film.

The shutter then was limited to allowing an exposure time that was half that of the frame rate.

So if you could shoot at one frame per second, the shutter could only allow for half a second

of light with the shutter being at an angle of 180 degrees.

You could have shutter angles less than 180 degrees letting in less light, but this would

also change the look of your video.

And although current camera no longer control shutter speed using a rotary shutter anymore,

the shutter angle terminology has continued as a simple standard way of describing the

appearance of motion blur in video.

So let's take another look at the rotary shutter so we can look at some of the basic shutter

angles and determine how to calculate your shutter speed.

So we'll use 24 frames per second as our frame rate in these examples.

Since 360 degrees is the maximum exposure you can get, 360 will be your base number

and you'll divide any of the lower shutter angles into 360 and then multiply the result

of that by your frame rate to arrive at the shutter speed you'll need for that shutter angle.

So for a 360 shutter angle, 360 divided by itself would be 1.

So at 24 frames per second, you would get 1/24 of a second for your shutter speed.

Then at 180 degrees, that goes into 360 twice.

So then you would multiply your frame rate by 2 giving you 1/48 of a second for your shutter speed.

Going further for a 90 degree shutter angle, that goes into 360 four times.

So then you multiply your frame rate by 4 giving us 1/96 of a second.

Continuing on to 45 degree shutter angle, that goes into 360 eight times.

So we'll multiply 24 frames per second by 8, and that gives us our shutter speed for

a 45 degree angle at 24 frames per second.

Now, you're not gonna find these precise shutter speeds on DSLRs, so you'll just have to round

up to the closest one you can find.

But you get the idea on how to calculate your shutter speed for these various shutter angles.

But using a 360 degree shutter angle results in a slower shutter speed that gives a lot

more motion blur than you're used to seeing.

And using a 90 degree or 45 degree shutter angle results in a fast shutter speed giving

a series of crisp, choppy looking frames when played back that's usually referred to as

the cheap, video-y look.

Now, having crisp frames sounds like a good thing from a photography standpoint because

blurry frames typically look bad in a photo.

But if you take 24 of those, put them back-to-back and play them in one second, it starts to look pretty natural.

And the reason for that is because our eyes naturally see motion blur, which you can see

just from waving your hand around in front of your face.

Your hand doesn't look crisp throughout the movement; there's motion blur there.

And so the 180 degree shutter angle most closely resembles what we see naturally.

And of course to every rule there is an exception, and this is no different.

Other shutter angles can be used for effect.

If done carefully and well, they can enhance your story, and we'll talk about reasons to

use other shutter angles in a different video.

But for now to get your videos looking most like what you're used to seeing in movies,

using 24 frames per second as your base frame rate, just double that to 48; so round that

up to 1/50 and that'll be your shutter speed at 24 frames per second.

And if you're shooting at a higher frame rate, simply double that frame rate and then round

to the next closest number in order to get your shutter speed for that frame rate.

And that's all for shutter speed so if you made it this far, hit that like button and

let me know down below if you have any more questions about shutter speed.

It was a lot of numbers and angles and calculations, so if you are confused, let me know and

I'll help try to clear it up more down below.

Go ahead and subscribe if you haven't, and remember that the only way to get better at

something is to practice.

So get out there and film something.

See ya soon!

Word on the Road: Episode 8 | What's your best advice for Rookies? - Duration: 2:36.

Get with someone that knows the business,

that has the experience in the business because anybody could drive a truck.

But being a truck driver is something totally different.

Real life.

- You name it, I've seen it. - I don't want to say what I want to say.

I won't mention their names.

Real stories.

- Oh, wow. - That's not good.

I don't know what the heck I was thinking.

Real truckers.

- You're scared outta your pants. - I don't know.

This is "Word on the Road," presented by Progressive Commercial.

In this episode, we're asking drivers...

Take advice from the old-- the old guys who've been here 30 and 40 years.

They will teach you stuff that the school won't teach you.

I would say...

follow the DOT rules.

And go off your own instinct.

Always watch your tandems.

Your mirrors are there for a reason. Use them.

You have to have that idea, that mind frame,

for you to be safe and successful out here on these streets.

Nothing comes easy. Nothing's simple out there.

Get a radio. Get a CB.

Everybody told me, "You don't need a CB anymore,"

but I bought one of them little $150 deals.

It has saved me...

In the time it saved me from sitting in traffic, it's paid itself off already.

Check your vehicle out every chance you get.

And just watch for young people,

people just not aware of what they're doing.

When you get started, it takes time, and you have to be patient.

The best thing when you're training, learn the map.

You learn that map, then you can't go wrong.

Keep going and keep pushing, and things'll smooth out as you go.

You learn as you go.

Well, I always tell most of the younger guys

that you can come out here and make money, it's easy,

that-- always get with a company that's gonna train you.

Get with somebody that knows the business, that you trust,

that will steer you the right way, especially purchasing your first truck.

I got my experience from an old timer. He showed me some tricks.

If you're afraid of driving mountains, drive it at night.

Because you won't see the drop off.

Get with a good company, and enjoy trucking.

Live for it, like I do, and it'll be just fine.
