Serena Williams cranks up game to beat Ashleigh Barty in three sets at French Open

Eventually, this looked a little bit like one of those Serena Williams comebacks of old, filled with brilliant strokes and full-throated screams of "Come on!".

For the first half-hour in the French Open second round on Wednesday, the 23-time grand slam singles champion played the way you would expect from someone competing at her first major in 16 months – and the first since she gave birth to a daughter last September.

And then, suddenly, Williams was back.

Erasing a deficit of a set and a break, Williams recalibrated her shots and beat 17th-seeded Ashleigh Barty 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 in a match that ended shortly before dusk.

"I lost the first set, and I thought, 'I've got to try harder.

I've got to just try harder.' And Serena came out," Williams told the crowd, leaning forward and breaking into laughter.

"Every day is a great day for me.

I'm going to be here, fighting my heart out.

It's such a great feeling.".

Williams had all sorts of trouble against her Australian opponent in the opening set, compiling 12 unforced errors.

By the time the second set was merely one game old, she had been broken twice in the match, each time to love, a troubling development for the owner of one of her sport's most dangerous serves.

But then she started letting herself be heard.

Exhorting herself and celebrating key moments along the path back, Williams grabbed four consecutive games over a span of less than 15 minutes to lead 4-1 in the second set, which soon enough would be hers.

She gained control of the third almost immediately, breaking to go ahead 2-1, then holding for 3-1.

When Williams served out the victory with a backhand winner down the line, she raised both arms overhead and held up her left fist as she approached the net to meet Barty.

In the stands, Williams' coach, Patrick Mouratoglou, shook his fist.

After statistics that were so negatively lopsided in that initial set, in which she managed to produce only three winners, Williams straightened things out, to the tune of 25 winners the rest of the way.

Not bad for someone who hasn't played in one of tennis' four most important events since January 2017, when she won the Australian Open while pregnant.

Williams is ranked only 451st this week, because of her extended absence from the tour.

She had played only four matches going 2-2 all season until this week.

Next for Williams is a third-round match against the No11 seed, Julia Goerges of Germany.

Get through that, and Williams would face either her old rival Maria Sharapova or another former world No1, Karolina Pliskova.

There is family history too: Williams beat Pliskova's twin sister, Kristyna, in the first round.

Speeding up Your Hearing Wait Time - Duration: 2:30.

Hello everyone! I wanted to quickly discuss one of the most common questions

that our firm receives, which is "why does the hearing process take so long?" After

your request for reconsideration has been denied, you're anywhere from 8 to 10

months into the Social Security disability (SSD) claims process, depending

on how long it took you to file your appeal. You now have another 60 days to

appeal the denied reconsideration request. Unfortunately, this is when the

real waiting begins. After the request for reconsideration, the next stage of

the disability appeal process is the disability hearing. At this stage of the

appeal, you will bring your case before an administrative law judge (ALJ) and you

want to make sure you're working with a qualified disability representative when

doing so. At this point it can take a year or more to have your hearing

scheduled due to the SSA's hearing backlog. Keep in mind that SSA is

receiving hundreds of thousands of applications for benefits each month and

most of those applications are getting denied at both the initial and

reconsideration stages. So then, they move on to file a request for a hearing, thus

creating and adding to the enormous backlog. So, by the time your hearing date

arrives, you may be two years into the disability process. The good news is that

we have a significantly higher chance of winning your claim at the hearing. To

increase your chances of being awarded disability benefits, you should have a

disability representative by your side at your hearing. While it might sound

easy for us to say that, statistically you are more likely to win with

representation. If you are not awarded benefits at your hearing due to a lack

of proper legal representation, you may be waiting for another two years or more

while you go through the disability application and appeals process all over

again. This is not a process you will wish to repeat! Fortunately, there are

also many other ways to increase your chances of winning at the hearing, which

we'll discuss in a later video. In the meantime, if you have any questions,

please leave a comment, send a message, or give one of our disability experts a

call. We've been handling these types of claims for over twenty-five years and

one of our disability experts would be happy

offer you a free case evaluation. If it's easier, visit our website at the link

below to get started. I'll talk to you soon

Distinktive Stamps by Stampin' Up! - Duration: 4:13.

Hello everyone! My name is Tanner Smedley, this video is all about stamps.

Stampin' Up! is an award winning industry leader in stamp making, one of the more recent

innovations is our Distinktive stamp line. Distinktive stamps are made using a

patent-pending manufacturing process to create photorealistic style images

that cannot be found anywhere else in the market.

Distinktive stamps are made with a special texture that gives a lot of

depth and dimension without needing two or three step stamping. This stamp set is

called Healing Hugs. It's a red rubber stamp set and has two Distinktive images

you have this flower here and these detailed leaves. Just going to give you

an example of what it looks like when it's stamped, so I'm going to pull out

the large floral image. I'm going to pull out my Calypso Coral ink pad.

Ink that up and stamp. So as you can see there's a lot of depth and dimension

with just one stamp. And this is ready to be used on a card front.

Here is the same image stamped in different colors.

As well as repeated to make a background image.

When using the Distinktive stamps you'll want to make

sure that you have the right amount of saturation. With the special surface of

these stamps if there is not enough ink you might end up not getting all of the detail.

And if there's too much the ink can actually fill in those fine lines

and you will lose some of that detail. So when you ink up the stamp if you see

little beads of ink on the surface you might have an ink pad that's just a

little bit too juicy. And while you can achieve different looks by using

distinctive stamps with watercolor pencils, water coloring, or Stampin' Blends.

In this video I wanted to show you how to use multiple colors on one stamp.

I have a few sponge daubers and three colors of ink: Crushed Curry,

Mango Melody, and Pumpkin Pie.

First, I'm going to ink my stamp in Crushed Curry.

I'm going to grab a sponge dauber, grab some Mango Melody and I'm just going to ink

up from the inside of the petals to the outside, just lightly.

Then I'm going to get my sponge dauber and some Pumpkin Pie

and I'm going to just ink up just the outside of the petals lightly.

Some more in the middle a little bit. And then all I have to do is stamp.

And there you have it.

The additional color's mixed together give a nice organic look to complement those details.

This stepped-up stamp is now ready to be cut out and used on a card.

Here is an additional sample using this technique. They just stamped a

pattern multiple times doing the same thing. In the catalog we have several

Distinktive stamps sets available and they are identified by a Distinktive

stamp icon right next to the stamp descriptions. Distinktive stamps are a

great way to add a lot of detail to a card that will really leave an impression.

What's Up for June 2018 - Duration: 2:24.

What's Up for June?

Jupiter and Venus at sunset,

Mars, Saturn, and Vesta until dawn.

Hello and welcome. I'm Jane Houston Jones from

NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California.

I hope this month's evening weather

will lure you outdoors for night sky viewing!

First up is Venus.

It reaches its highest sunset altitude

for the year this month

and sets more than two hours after sunset.

You can't miss Jupiter

only a month after its opposition--

when Earth was directly between Jupiter and the Sun.

The best time to observe Jupiter through a telescope

is 10:30 p.m. at the beginning of the month

and as soon as it's dark by the end of the month.

Just aim your binoculars at the bright planet

for a view including the four Galilean moons.

Or just enjoy Jupiter with your unaided eye!

[whoosh]

Saturn is at opposition June 27th

when it and the Sun are on opposite sides of Earth.

It rises at sunset and sets at sunrise.

Great Saturn viewing will last several more months.

The best views this month will be just after midnight.

All year, the rings have been tilted wide open--

almost 26 degrees wide this month--

giving us a great view of Saturn's distinctive rings.

The tilt offers us a view of the north polar region,

so exquisitely imaged by the Cassini spacecraft.

Near Saturn, the brightest asteroid--Vesta--

is so bright that it can be seen with your unaided eye.

It will be visible for several months.

A detailed star chart will help you

pick out the asteroid from the stars.

The summer Milky way provides a glittery backdrop.

Finally, Mars grows dramatically in brightness and size

this month and is visible by 10:30 p.m. by month end.

The best views are in the early morning hours.

Earth's closest approach with Mars is only a month away.

It's the closest Mars has been to us since 2003.

You can catch up on solar system missions

and all of NASA's missions at: www.nasa.gov

That's all for this month. I'm Jane Houston Jones.

Kyle Kinane - Comedy Up Late 2018 (S6, E9) - Duration: 6:35.

Oh it's good to be here, on the set of 'Persian Blade Runner'

I am from the USA, it is nice to travel outside of the USA, or as it's known back home 'taking cover'

Don't worry I'm not, we don't have to get into the politics

I don't do that stuff. I personally don't like to hear

comedians talk to me about politics, because comedians make terrible choices in their lives.

I don't think they should. Like every comedian I know has addiction problems,

can't hold a relationship, and cheats on their taxes. But then they'll be like, 'Let me tell you who you should vote for'.

That's like watching somebody who keeps falling off a bicycle

tell you how to fly an airplane. No you don't get to talk to me about transportation.

That's not your forte.

Hear a lot of talk about white privilege

A lot of people in the States, you know guys - 'I don't have white [privilege]'

I know I have white privilege. You know why I know I I have white privilege?

I believe in ghosts.

And that's what you get to believe in when you have no more real problems left.

That's a privilege

That's... when you have no more terrestrial issues, that's when you can start believing in

sh*t like that. That's a privileged life.

I still try to act socially conscious, you know, people are like 'What about the disappearing middle class'

'And the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer'. And I'm like, 'Yes!'

'And also, ghosts!'

'In addition, in addition to this. The systemic racism in today's police force'

'And poltergeists! Let's not forget. Let's loop that stuff in'

That's like, if I see a black guy that believes in UFOs I'm like, 'Man. You are taking on a lot right now'.

'That's ambitious, man.'

'You already got all the other shit and you're going with extraterrestrials? That's a lot on your plate buddy'

'Kudos to you.'

I don't...

I have never sexually harassed anybody, I don't think.

I am pretty confident I have never. I have, I have pet the f*ck

out of a service dog though, and I don't know if that's... if that's part of the same conversation, I don't know.

I'm 41. I'm becoming a man I didn't think I was going to become.

I feel bad for the security guards in skateboard videos now.

I didn't think I was gonna be that guy.

I thought I was going to be young and rad forever.

'No way Toby, you got that staircase. You're gonna do it buddy'

'F*ck this narc, you'll pull it off'.

Now I watch it, I am like

'Toby, you've got no natural ability, get off the skateboard, leave him alone'.

'He's 70 years old, he's got no pension.'

'He's just trying to keep his model train game alive'.

'He's a veteran, lay off'.

Because I understand the model train guys more

than I understand the skateboarding youth. And I'm sad to say that now.

I get it. You never see like a model train set? It's elaborately detailed... just so nice.

It's because that's the last corner of the world that they're still in charge of.

You know, it's a changing world out there and it's scary for those guys.

You know, they got to adapt to everything. They're being told they got to use

different pronouns for people and it doesn't make any sense and all this

change is going on. So no matter what happens, they still get to come back to

that little corner of the world that just stays how they want it to stay.

No matter what happens out there, no matter what goes on,

At 12:37 the Northwestern line pulls right into the station. That's what it does.

Right next to this meticulously painted 57 Chevy that I spent six hours just alone,

getting the flame just right on that hot rod in that quarter panel.

And I'll be God damned if gay people can get married in this town!

I don't agree with it, but I see where they're coming from, you know?

I think a lot of people get caught up in the philosophy

that they feel they need to understand things in order to accept them, and that's incorrect.

That's what's challenging.

They gotta understand it to accept it. They don't understand what's going on, and therefore it's wrong.

That's not right, you know? Imagine having to go through a world

where you needed to understand stuff to accept it. You know how much sh*t you'd have to get rid of?

Start with all your technology. Get rid of all your stuff.

Get rid of your iPhone, I'd have to get rid of my microwave oven.

I love my microwave oven! I don't have a f*cking clue how that thing works. I don't know.

If a little... if a side opened on my microwave and it was a tiny wizard in there

I'd be like, 'That makes as much sense as the actual science'.

This thing, just a little guy going, 'I'm making your hot pockets hot on the inside first'

I'm like, 'You got it, little wizard'. I don't know, sure man.

I mean, I still treat it with reverence, I won't stare into a microwave.

I still respect it as a magic box of sorcery that exists in my kitchen.

You gotta be a little tolerant. That's why I'm agnostic, I don't have the courage to be an atheist.

You know? And also what do you win if you're an atheist. 'There's nothing!'

'Oh, OK, I guess we'll go home'

I'm an agnostic because I want to believe in my silly sh*t.

If I want to believe in my silly sh*t that means I have to let somebody else believe in stuff that I think is silly.

I can't sit here and be hypocritical if I sat here and be like, 'Ghosts? Probably.'

'Bigfoot? Let's hope.'

'Aliens? Of course.'

'Jesus Christ? Get the f*ck out of here, what are you talking about'. It's hypocritical.

I just don't like it,

when you back people into a corner that are real religious and they try to explain stuff away

with these mysterious statements that don't make sense.

Like you get somebody that's real religious, and a tragedy will happen, and they'll say

'Well everything happens for a reason'.

Yeah.

The reason is usually science.

But they never want to admit that. They just mean it's some, you know,

magical cosmic reason that Jesus put into place. But it's science. Like, 'Oh I can't believe

Fred got hit by that truck and died. What a tragedy'

And somebody is like 'Everything happens for a reason'

Yeah, an object in motion tends to stay in motion.

You can't destroy energy, you can only transfer it. So the truck had energy,

and then it hit Fred, and then he died,

and then his energy turned into a ghost. It's science!

Science. Ghosts are science is what I'm saying.

Thank you very much everybody, have a great night.

Drip Irrigation-Part 1-Set-Up at the Faucet - Duration: 5:00.

Welcome to part 1 of a five-part series on how to install and assemble drip

irrigation systems. Whether you're going to be using poly tubing, drip tape, soaker

hose, emitterline or with various sprinklers and emitters you're going to

start out with the same planning and assembly. To begin with get out your pen

and pad and tape measure for the planning session. Your drip irrigation

system begins at the water source, whether that's a free-standing faucet

near your garden, a hose bib on your house, a spigot near a well ditch or

other water source. Start by measuring how far it is from your water source to

your gardens and also whether you can water all your gardens with one line

from the source or if you'll need several lines such as if your gardens

are located in different directions from the faucet, or you need to determine if

you need more feet of line than the system can support at once. You'll also

need to measure your garden beds, length and width. From the measures you've taken

you can now draw out all of your gardens on paper. Note each measurement on your

drawing then draw in or note what you'll be watering–veggie beds, flowers,

perennials, trees and shrubs should all be included in your diagram. Now it's

time to take the time and analyze what kind of drip system is going to be the

best for you. You need to incorporate several types for the most efficient irrigation.

Check out the corresponding videos on each type of irrigation system to learn

more about what each system is used for before you decide, or you can check out

any one of our drip irrigation assembly guides at groworganic.com.

The first part of your system from your water source to the edge of your garden

will be the same no matter what kind of drip irrigation system you choose. At the

end of either a hose or faucet the first thing you'll install is a Y-connection

or you can use a 4-way connection. This allows you to water other things and use

your faucet for other things without disconnecting your drip system. Next

install a vacuum breaker. This will prevent back flow from your

irrigation system and prevent your water source from becoming contaminated. This

will be especially important if you plan to be using a fertilizer injector system.

If you are going to be using a fertilizer injector system now is the

time to install it, however, read the manufacture instructions carefully

because some timers can't be used with the fertilizer injector system and possibly

some other components of the drip system that you choose. A filter should be

installed next, this will prevent your drip system from getting clogged. A

flushable Y-filter is very easy to clean or you can use an economical

inline filter. A filter is especially important if you're using a fertilizer

injector or if your water source is from a well, irrigation pond or a ditch. An

optional accessory to add next is a timer. There are a variety of timers to

choose from. Anywhere from a simple mechanical timer to a fully digital

Wi-Fi enabled timer that you program from your smartphone or computer and

everything in between. Adding a timer will save you time and money on your

water bills. Most drip systems work best with a fixed pressure regulator. If you

find out that your water pressure may be too high, you can determine what type of

pressure regulator to use based on the type of drip system you're going to be

installing. Now that your irrigation system is protected, filtered, timed and

regulated you can add the poly tubing. The poly tubing will bring the water to

the edge of your garden. So at the end of the pressure regulator you'll need to

install a Power-Loc Starter, depending on your design this might be a single

female starter or a Tee, for two lines of poly tubing. Attach your 1/2 inch poly to the starter and then power lock it in place.

Now you're ready to lay it down in the garden. You can stake it down with ground

staples or you can hold it firmly in place along a wooden deck or raised beds

with mounting clips. Your irrigation is ready for the next step, how to get the

water from the poly tubing to the plants. Check out our corresponding videos on

how to set up a drip irrigation using emitterline, soaker-hose, drip tape and all

the rest of the accessories, and grow organic for life!
