Youtube daily here Jun 2 2018

Hello everyone!

Welcome back to the Notification Nest!

Due to my Finals week, there was no Notification Nest last week!

Today, we going to do (Holds note).

Actually, I have no real topic to discuss this week so...

What am I thinking!

Maybe I could tell the viewers about my two new...

oh yeah, I have already told that.

Maybe, I could tell about the new... oh yeah, there's enough talk about it on Youtube already.

Enigma: Stars, I could take over while you think of a topic to discuss today.

Thanks, Enigma Subs.

Enigma: You're welcome!

Enigma: While Star Master is trying to think of a topic, I going to reveal the

answer to the last Notification Next Minigame!

The answer is 40!

Let's see if you are really a subscriber because the minigame for this week is

Guess That Video!

How is works is in two ways.

1.

I will reveal a small clip of a video from Mixed Star Master but with no

sound and 2.

I will just play audio from a video with no visuals!

Let's see if you can guess this video!

The answer will be reveal next week so back to you, Stars!

So apparently a fan from The Amazing World of Gumball is going to have her character

in the show in 2019.

She drew this amazing ball which have good magical powers.

It's based off of an inanimate object from Gumball.

She even allow me to show a clip of it.

Let's watch.

Wow, that ball's great!

Alright!

I actually didn't have any news to tell you guys that hasn't been said

already.

Thundercats Roar will probably be another Teen Titans Go! clone,

Spike is growing up along with his newly formed wings, and I have some polls

that you can vote about what new Gumball episode that I should review.

I'm so sorry that I didn't have something that hasn't

been said already for this week's Notification Nest.

I just want to make a new episode so that people won't say

that I didn't upload one today.

What's this letter that Enigma Subs apparently threw to me?

Oh!

If you have been keeping up with the series, Star Master & Friends

(formerly Rainbirds), then I have good news!

After a long hiatus, I have enough time to make new episodes

again!

If you haven't watch any episode of that show, then you should start with

the Season 1 playlist to get started!

Well, it turns out that I have something new to tell you!

I hope you have a good day and I promise that I will keep up to date

with the news so bye!

ALL For ONE IS HERE!! My Hero Academia Season 3 Episode 9 Episode 47 - Duration: 4:53.

All for One has arrived! So what's up guys Foxen here! So that's right after all

this time All for One has arrived and one of the best episodes is coming up but

anyway let's start this week's breakdown. Last time he had the League of villains

trying to persuade Bakugo. Of course Bakugo didn't see eye to eye

and didn't give any damns at all by going after the leader. At the beginning of

this do you still have a Eraser head at that press conference so pretty much

Eraser head in the hot seat and man that media guy would not let up. Ot

was just attack after attack just trying to make the hero academy look worse and

worse although thankfully Eraser head didn't let himself fall for that

trick he was just gonna stay cool and not allow himself to get pissed off. At

the same time he fired back and firkin shot him down which I just loved. So yeah

the thing about Eraser head being the guy who's known for hating the media

depending on how much this happens I could see why now. As for Bakugo

this episode all right so I gotta give this guy some massive credit for fully

thinking out his current situation. Previously it just looked like he didn't

give a damn and went straight for the main guy. He wasn't just blindly

fighting back without a plan. He thought this out and funny enough in this

episode Bakugo actually start reminding me a lot of Deku. I could just imagine

Bakugo getting so pissed off at that comment. As for Shigaraki's reaction to

all of this. Surprisingly he did not rage and you saw the guys behind him and they

thought he was gonna go fallout too but nope. According to him Bakugo is important

interesting. Looks like Bakugo isn't the only one that could think ahead. As for

the incoming counter-attack did you notice early on this episode All

might even call Gran Torino because he knew that the big guy was gonna come out

or should I say the final boss for the heroes. As for Deku, Shoto, and other

guys this episode bingo they discovered the Nomu factory so yeah just this

massive death warehouse. By the way I do just love how the anime version of this

posted you could see a lot more of Nomus in the scene. As for the pizza

delivery scene Bakugo again was still thinking hard about the best way to get

out of his predicament but that someone ordered

pizza or should I say who's the one that ordered a flaming detroit smash!

Man damn gran torino is freaking ruthless but efficient he went straight for the

knockout for Dabi. Can't let that guy set this whole place on

fire and of course one of the best moments of this episode was this from all

might "We are here." Meanwhile Jeanist, mount lady were in a different location

so it turns out the heroes really thought that sound a lot of thinking

this episode. That whole media press conference was really just a diversion

Jeanist, mount lady and the rest of the heroes were able to take out that

factory far away so no freakin backup or so they thought.

As for the villain Shigaraki here you see a little bit of his backstory a

small chunk. Apparently you can see that it was found and taken in by all for one

there were some mention about no one coming to help him. Oh just let the

heroes do it. So Shigaraki was thrown away but thankfully taken in by the kind

man with candy mm-hmm. And then of course taking out that factory didn't really

matter at all. All for one was still in play and man the

face that All Might when Bakugo was taken again that was some extreme pain

you could feel from it. Man he was just devastated. Meanwhile Tiger did in the

finding the missing hero ragdoll. It looks like a rag doll was literally

broken. It also seems like Tiger ended up covering her up. In the manga version

of this it looked like she was completely naked. Alright and let's get to it

All for one has arrived from this. I love that there was no hesitation from Jeanist

although not good enough. Not against father

uh I mean All for one. Doesn't matter what you did it was over in an instant

and get this it was so traumatizing for deku, Shoto and everyone else just

being there. Oh no all for one's reiatsu was too strong so much that he could see

your own death. dun dun dun. Oh and let's not forget all for one can also fly

he could do everything but seriously now that all for one is here next week's

episode will be superheated but anyway let me hear from you how excited are you

to finally see all for one show in person can deku and other heroes take

him out does any hero even stand a chance anyway be sure the choice mash a

thumbs up and subscribe you can watch my + anime videos here every week that

includes my mind hero macademia season 3 breakdowns and also my other ones on

darling in the franks and the GGO spin-off don't forget to check out my

other attack on titan videos and i'll see you guys later

Your Gut Microbes Are Controlling Your Mind, Here's What You'll Do For Them - Duration: 3:40.

The average human being hosts tens of trillions of microbes in and on our bodies, most of

which reside in our intestines.

Depending on the person, 2-6 pounds of our entire weight could be purely microbial.

That's a lot of roommates who aren't paying rent, if you ask me.

It turns out these microbial passengers are both giving back to us and potentially sabotaging

us...

Scientists are calling this the gut-brain axis…

And some have even named it your 'second brain.'

It turns out that the teeming and diverse community in our gut -- acts as a collective

unit with a mind of its own—quite literally.

That's right—we're talking microbial mind control, y'all.

For example, your bacteria may be making food choices for you.

Some bacteria love eating fiber, some love pure sugar or fat—and depending on your

diet, you may be cultivating a gut population with a preference for one over the other..

Whichever your 'second brain' prefers, it's probably going to to tell you what

it wants—loudly—and then complain when you don't feed it: cue that 'hangry'

feeling when you just really need a chocolate bar at 3 pm.

Your microbes do this by hijacking your neurotransmitters until you feed them what they want.

And when you do—there's a wave a relief as those bacteria release their happy feelings

into your system…making you feel happy too.

This interaction between your cravings, your microbiome, and how your brain registers all

of this is really complex, so if you want to know more just let us know and we'll

look into it.

When your bacteria feel happy, you feel happy because…

Bacteria, it turns out, communicate with one another via neurotransmitter— the same kind

of chemicals used in your regular brain: like serotonin, dopamine, cortisol, and GABA.

These chemicals transmit messages from one neuron to another in your brain, and because

you host so many bacteria -- when they use them it can affect you--and your mood--too.

The thing is we're still unclear on how exactly these signals get from your gut to

your brain—a likely candidate seems to be the vagus nerve, a long nerve that connects

your stomach and intestines to the base of your brain, but it could also be your immune system

or your endocrine system.

Maybe it's both!

But the results that are coming in from this kind of research are pretty remarkable.

One research group at University College Cork in Ireland fed Lactobacillus rhamnosus, a

good bacteria -- or 'probiotic' you can usually find in yogurt -- to one of two groups

of mice. The probiotic mice were much more likely to persevere and succeed in the face

of adversity tests than those not treated with the probiotic.

They repeated a similar study in humans, with the probiotic-fed humans displaying improved

resilience to negative emotions than those without the probiotic.

Some scientists hypothesize that the root evolutionary cause of this may be that your

bacteria's ultimate goal is to spread, so when we cultivate a healthy gut population,

the signals they send to our brain are encouraging us to be happy and social and go out in search

of food so we introduce them to more hosts…

So, by shaking each other's hand or kissing other people we're both picking up other

peoples' bacteria and spreading our personal microbiomes -- with all the benefits and drawbacks

that entails.

That's terrifying.

There's all KINDS of crazy ways that the bugs living inside of you are connected to

your brain, and its a burgeoning research field that has great potential for personalized

medicine.

Imagine your doctor sampling your microbiota and knowing exactly which bacteria were sending

you what signals and then being able to modify your behavior, whether it be mood or diet-related,

by supplementing your gut environment with some new critters.

Freaky.

Want a healthy diet of science in your life?

Why not subscribe?

And watch this video about how antibiotic resistant bacteria have a new ENEMY in the

CRISPR pill.

Yeah.

It's cool.

Did you know that fecal transplants can potentially be life-saving?

That's right, a transplant of a healthy donor's stool could save someone suffering

from a fatal gut infection.

The power of poop!

Thanks for watching.

Short Man Style Tips | How To Dress Taller - RMRS - Duration: 11:05.

Dressing Short Body Type [0:00:00]

All right, gentlemen.

Today's video is about dressing sharp for the short men.

If you're 5'9" or shorter, this video is for you.

And if you're taller, well, you're still going to find some awesome tips in today's

video.

[Music] Let's start this video off by talking about

proportions.

If you've ever studied art you know that proportions are very important when it comes

to art, it comes to designs, it comes to things looking great.

So, let's talk about the idealistic body shape.

The body shape celebrated throughout time and history through sculptures through art.

What we see and using the head as the measurement is that he is eight heads high and he is two-and-a-third

heads wide.

The reality is the average human being is only seven-and-a-half heads in height.

And the reality is that shorter men, he's more like six-and-a-half heads in height.

The issue here for the short men is that as his proportions skew away from the ideal,

all of a sudden it can make him look childlike.

Okay.

So, we got the basic lesson on proportions out of the way, let's talk about the goal

of today's video.

For you to understand fit as a shorter individual, so that you can wear clothing that makes you

look great, not clothing that makes you look shorter than what you actually are.

Now, gentlemen, you may be wondering, Antonio, where did you get that great looking polo?

What about all those other ones right there on the rack?

Guys, over at Otero Menswear, the paid sponsor of today's video.

And, what I love about this company, they focus in on the men between 5'4" and 5'9"

with their three dimensional proportional sizing system.

What this means basically is if you're between those sizes, usually you have two options

– small and medium.

Over in Otero you've got almost twenty different sizes.

They do this because they first focus in on your height.

Then, they go in and they focus in on your body type, then they add a third dimension

to the sizing by going in are you a small, medium, large, or extra large within those

dimensions.

I can tell you guys, this is going to be one of the most accurate fitting that you will

find out there.

Now, another thing I want to talk about is the fabrics.

You guys know I owned a clothier, I geek out on quality fabrics that actually retain their

shape when you wash them again and again.

That's what they said.

I talked to Stephen, the founder.

We went back and forth, I'm like, okay, send me this clothing, I'm going to wash

it a whole bunch of times and it did exactly what he said it would do.

It retained it shape.

It actually fit a lot better and it felt better actually having go – gone through the wash.

So, little things like this just I love it when a company pays attention to the small

details.

And, speaking of small details, they actually went through and they added they made sure

the proportions are all correct.

Right here, the pocket size details, having different fabrics, the stitching and the quality

of the buttons right here on the sleeve, the small detail like this.

And not a polo guy?

Don't worry.

They've got great looking t-shirt as well.

Gentlemen, I'm linking Otero Menswear down in the description of this video with the

discount code.

The best you're going to find.

Guys, use it or lose it.

Awesome company that focuses on the fit for the guy under 5'9".

Highly recommended.

Check them out.

I'm linking to them down in the description.

So, first up let's talk about shirt fit.

Well, what we're initially looking at is going to be the overall length of the shirt.

You don't want the shirt to extend past your hipbones.

Yes, you can actually get that adjusted, but I would say find a brand find a particular

style that works for your body type versus having to spend that extra money on the tailor

tax.

Next, you want to go out and look at the shoulder points.

If the shoulder points go way beyond your shoulders, then don't buy the shirt.

You want to make sure it fits you here.

This is key if you are a bigger guy you're a muscular guy, but you want a slimmer fit.

So, look for something that has a particular type of V cut basically accommodates your

drop.

Your drop is the difference between your chest measurement and your stomach or your waist

measurement.

So, depending on your drop, you're looking for a t-shirt that actually fits that style.

Now, let's say you have almost no drop, you've got about a 42-inch midsection and

you've got about a 42-inch chest.

In that case, you're going to look for a style of t-shirt that is more of a rectangle

and there are some that just drape straight down.

Other ones, again, they're going to have more of an athletic cut and so they're going

to come in more in the stomach area.

Now, let's talk about shirt sleeves.

So, instead of looking at the top of the shirt sleeves, look at the bottom of the shirt sleeve

and in general you want something that's going to be a bit shorter.

I know you may be worried, oh, I'm going to look really thin.

Well, guess what?

You can't hide it anyway and it's better to look thin than to have stubby short arms

because that's a longer sleeve does for a shorter individual.

So, go for a little bit short of a sleeve, it's usually going to look better on a short

individual.

Now, let's talk about dress shirts and button-downs.

Very similar to the t-shirt, we want to make sure it fits perfectly in the shoulder point.

If you're buying it off the rack and it doesn't fit you in the shoulder point, then

don't even buy it.

Now, when it comes to the chest when it comes to the rest of the stomach and the torso area,

this can be brought in.

For me, with a closer fit with my size and my proportions, I like to have about two to

an inch-and-a-half of extra material in and around the chest and the stomach area.

Some of you guys may prefer to have a little bit more have a little bit less, but once

you get below an inch, it's a very form fit and doesn't give you too much.

You got to have room to breathe there.

[0:04:59] Now, let's talk about the sleeve length.

So, this is off the rack where I see most the mistakes made is that they do not get

the sleeves adjusted.

And, if you're thinner, you can also get the sleeves slimmed up as well.

That's going to look a lot better.

Now, with the length of the shirt, because dress shirts are meant to be tucked in, this

is something that if it's a little bit longer, let's say you want to wear a shirt untucked

that's going to be a casual button-down.

Then, in that case, you may want to get it tailored at the bottom to be shorter, so that

when you wear it, again, you're only having it about – go about three inches past the

waistline.

Now, the fit of polo is very similar to t-shirts, but, again, you want to make sure that the

length is right.

Now, another thing to pay attention to that kind of goes beyond fit is the proportion.

So, you want to make sure that the collar, look at it in proportion to your face or actually

go get a size that's about four sizes larger.

And if the collar size is the same on the medium or the small as it is on the extra,

extra large, you know that this brand is just reusing collars.

Do not buy from them.

You want to find something that is proportionally made for your built.

All right, gentlemen.

Now, let's talk about the perfect fit for the short man when it comes to jeans, shorts,

chinos, khakis.

Any type of trousers, guys, it all starts in the crotch area.

And what I'm talking about is your rise.

So, the rise is actually if you want to take a tape measure, you would start right up here

at the top here, go all the way down up and around behind in the buttocks area.

Measure that right there and you are looking for a shorter rise.

Why is this beneficial?

Because it's going to make your legs look longer.

Wearing jeans that actually have a very nice rise they fit you well in the crotch area,

it's just going to make your legs look longer, it's going to make you look better.

And that's what you're shooting for.

Now, on the exact opposite are going to be khakis that have a very low rise.

And khakis are some of the biggest offenders here.

And what this does is it basically it cuts your leg line, it makes your legs look shorter

than what they already are and it is something you want to avoid.

Also, avoid this in shorts.

When it comes to shorts, you want to make sure not only do you got that really good

rise fit, but you want to also make sure right here on the hips that they hug you that they

fit you close.

But, when it comes down to tropical weight trousers, again, make sure they've got really

nice slim fit right here in on the hip area because it's going to be that whole crotch

area that we want to get an excellent fit.

Next up, let's talk about trousers taper.

And this is basically going to be the leg line and how closely it follows your actual

legs.

Now, notice right here I've got these chinos right here with these jeans.

I don't know if you can see this, but the chinos are just slightly wider than the jeans

and that's a good sign because when you're looking for a pair of chinos or for a pair

of khakis whatever you're going to wear, you want it to be a slimmer cut if you can.

But, what you don't want to wear is if you have a thin or you got just a regular body

built and you're wearing something that really makes your legs look wider.

Now, let's talk about hemming your trousers.

And what we're doing here is we're going to shorten the overall length of the trousers

and by shortening them half an inch, this can make a big difference.

Now, I can't talk about hemming without talking about trouser break.

In general, I think short men are best served by no break or a quarter break.

No break is basically with the trouser hang and they hang straight.

I think this looks best on most men.

If you want to go for a little bit of a break, well, maybe you're 5'6" you're 5'7"

you're 5'9", okay, you can make it work.

But, if you're 5'2", go for no break and go ahead and show off those shoes.

Next up, let's talk about shorts.

And I want to give shorts special attention because shorts if worn incorrectly can really

mess up your look.

They can make you look shorter they make your legs look stubby.

Now, you don't want to exaggerate this, you don't want to make your legs look shorter

than what they are.

So, you want to make sure to wear a pair of shorts which is going to do its best to accentuate

the length of your legs.

Avoid baggy shorts.

Avoid shorts that have a very low rise.

Those are going to do you no favors and, worse than pants, they're going to – they just

really can mess up the whole silhouette and the look of the outfit.

Now, let's talk about what to look for when it particularly comes to the length of the

shorts.

So, if you are 5'7" you're 5'8", nine inches perfectly fine.

If you're 5'5" you're 5'4", look more for seven inches.

If you're 5'4", 5'3", 5'2', five inches on the inseam of your shorts is

perfectly fine.

Now, let's talk jacket fit.

We're talking sports jackets, suit jackets, blazer jackets.

First up, start with the shoulders, like anyone else, if it doesn't fit you in the shoulders

do not buy the jacket, put it back find something first that fits you in the shoulders.

Then, look in the torso area.

Basically, first the chest, then the stomach.

But here is where as a shorter man you've got to be careful and that's the length

of the jacket.

And that's why you want to make sure, you know, does that jacket just barely cover the

back curvature of your buttocks.

That's a good sign, that's exactly the length it should be.

So when you put your arms down, where does the jacket end?

Does it end at about your wrist bone or does it go a little bit longer?

If it goes about an inch beyond your wrist bone, you may want to be careful.

Again, you're looking for a little bit shorter of a length than average because that proportionally

is going to look best on your body.

[0:10:03] Sports jacket is not your thing?

Maybe you like leather jackets, maybe jean jackets.

In any case, a jacket is going to be build up the shoulders, it's going to make you

look taller, but make sure you choose the right style for your body type.

The trucker jacket, another one that the overall length is going to be shorter, this is the

right style for you.

All right, gentlemen, now it's your turn.

I want to hear from you down in the comments.

What are your tips and tricks for dressing sharp for improving the fit of your clothing?

I want to hear your tips down in the comments.

And, guys, if you like this video, if you think it was useful, please share it, give

it a thumbs-up, pass it around.

And, guys, go check out Otero Menswear.

I'm going to link to them down in the description, an awesome company.

Go check them out.

I've got a discount code down there.

So, could you guys tell?

It is hotter than heck here in my office.

My A/C apparently just went out and, yeah, I'm sweating here trying to film this video.

I delete every few minutes, go wipe sweat off of my face.

So, hopefully in the video, I'm not too shiny, but I have a feeling I'm going to

be.

But, hey, what can I do, right?

See you guys on next video.

Take care.

WANT TO BOOST YOUR PRODUCTIVITY HERE ARE 8 REASONS YOU SHOULD WRITE THINGS DOWN - Duration: 7:04.

WANT TO BOOST YOUR PRODUCTIVITY?

HERE ARE 8 REASONS YOU SHOULD WRITE THINGS DOWN.

ALANNA KETLER.

The task of writing things down may seem almost too simple to offer any real assistance, but

often its one of the most the simple things you can do to provide yourself with the most

benefit.

When you are constantly remembering things that need to get done, and then forgetting,

it causes unnecessary stress in your mind.

Writing things down helps you get all of those ideas that have been taking up so much space

in your mind out of your head and albeit, onto paper.

Then you can refer to this paper and cross things off as you go.

Does anything feel better than crossing things off of a list?

Not in my books, it feels great.

While there are many benefits to writing things down, here are the top 8 that have helped

me tremendously with, not only getting organized, motivated and productive, but also to assist

me with goal setting, processing my emotions and getting clear on what it is I want and

how Im going to make it happen.

1.

Writing Things Down Provides A Record Of Everything That Is Holding Your Attention

Nowadays, us humans are bombarded with so many things we need to do, back in the day,

we could simply remember our daily tasks so there was little need for a pencil or pen.

Often, we can feel overwhelmed from experiencing information overload the point where we simply

forget what needs to get done.

When we later remember, sometimes its too late and that can cause even more stress from

not completing the said task.

By simply making yourself a list of tasks each morning that you would like to complete,

you can have a separate one (list) for personal things and one for work related tasks, which

gives you a very clear visual representation of what needs to get done.

To take it one step further you can make a prioritized list of your tasks and aim to

get the most important ones crossed off first.

2.

Writing Things Down Will Clear Up Space In Your Mind

As mentioned above, if nothing else, writing things down helps get all of these thoughts

and ideas out of your head and onto paper.

This can be beneficial for all areas in your life work, personal, relationships you

name it.

The art of journaling is an amazing practice to assist you with the daily stresses, worries,

desires and all of that stuff that may otherwise continue taking up space and focus in your

brain.

Getting it out on paper is literally like taking it out of your head and placing it

on the paper and does wonders for over thinking and stress.

3.

Writing Things Down Will Help Keep You Motivated No matter how motivated we are at times, it

is likely that this isnt always the case.

When you have your list each day, and maybe even a list of your goals, dreams and desires,

being able to reflect back to this list is sure to keep you motivated.

4.

Writing Things Down Encourages Daily Progress Again, if you write things down daily, or

prefer to plan out your whole week at a time, this will encourage daily progress.

You get started on your day, refer to your list or notes and get to work.

There is no wondering which is most important or trying to remember all of the things you

have to get done.

You simply look at your notebook, paper, whatever it may be and get started on your day, stress

free.

5.

Writing Things Down Helps You To Effectively Recognize And Process Your Emotions

I really cant stress this one enough keeping a journal has been a catalyst for

some pretty major breakthroughs, specifically regarding stagnancy in my life.

This is such a simple task that provides so much benefit.

How does this work?

Literally, just pick up a pen and paper and start writing, anything that comes to mind,

anything that youve always wanted to get done.

Your thoughts may include: I hate this, this is dumb, why am I doing this but just

keep going.

Eventually, some thoughts and feelings are sure to emerge that can be of assistance to

you.

Again, getting these thoughts out of your head and onto paper is an extremely cathartic

process.

Once you write these thoughts down they seem to become emotions on the paper, and alleviates

you from worrying, stressing, wondering, or trying to figure out what you need to do.

This practice is highly recommended by many, and you can read more about the benefits of

keeping a journal here.

6.

Writing Things Down Helps To Clarify Your Goals, Priorities And Intentions

What is it that you want?

Im sure that you have thought about this a lot, and perhaps even stewed over it in

your mind.

So, not to be redundant, but how about writing those goals and intentions down on paper?

By now Im assuming that you understand the benefit to this and how helpful it can

be.

7.

Nothing Feels Better Than Crossing A Task Off A List

Ive said it before, and Ill say it again, that sense of satisfaction, accomplishment

and pride that comes along with drawing that line through the completed tasks on your list,

whether its work or personal is great.

Hooray!

Its not quite the same as deleting something from a note on your cell phone, but accomplishing

things always feels good.

At the end of the day, youve crossed off everything on your list, then there is an

unparalleled sense of freedom.

If you havent, well, how handy you already have the beginning of your list for

the next day, laid out right there for you.

8.

Writing Things Down Sets An Intention Much like affirmations or mantras that are

spoken out loud, writing things down can set a powerful intention into the universe.

This is why it can be good for goal setting and getting clear on what it is you want for

yourself.

Writing something down is like setting out exactly what you want and what you are striving

to achieve.

To some, this may sound a little fluffy, but there is real magic in setting intentions.

Writing can be a perfect catalyst for this.

As the shipping magnate Aristotle Onassis once said,

Always carry a notebook.

Write everything down That is a million dollar lesson they dont teach you in business

school!

Here's What We Know About Sophie Brussaux, Drake's Alleged Baby Mama - Duration: 1:41.

What's up, guys?

For Complex News, i'm Speedy Morman.

The last few days have been rough for Drizzy.

Unless you've been living under a rock, you've heard Pusha-T's "The Story of Adidon"

and you've heard the allegation that Drake had a kid with a woman named Sophie.

But who is Sophie?

Before Drake reportedly takes a paternity test, let's take a look into his alleged baby

mama's life.

Sophie Brussaux was born in France back in 1990 but currently lives in New York.

She worked as an adult film actress under the name Rosee Divine, but it's unspecified

how long her career in the industry lasted, and when it ended.

After she left the adult film industry, she became a full-time painter.

Her work is described as "a mix of surrealism and symbolism with influences of pop art,"

according to DailyMail.

Back in May of 2017, TMZ reported the allegation along with a text conversation that appeared

to show Drake asking Brussaux to get an abortion, which she declined.

The baby, named Adonis, was born in October of 2017.

Before she was thrust into the spotlight as the alleged mother of Drake's child, she attempted

to become a reality TV show star.

She was featured in a 2012 trailer for a show titled Real Mistresses of Atlanta, but it

never took off.

Who knows where she'd be if the show launched.

Sophie is also a huge fan of fantasy and sci-fi.

That's right, Drake and his alleged baby mama may have connected over their mutual love

of Harry Potter and Stranger Things.

That's the news for now, but for all of the latest on Drake and Sophie, subscribe

to Complex News on YouTube.

Here's How Tiffany Pollard Made A Career Out Of A Meme - Duration: 3:13.

- [Passerby] Look, I know that make-up, baby girl.

- Of course you do, honey.

- Tiffany Pollard is a reality TV star

turned pop-culture icon.

Even if you don't recognize her as New York

from Flavor of Love in 2006,

you've surely seen one of her crazy memes online.

There's the one of course, one that sorta,

started it all with her sitting on a bed,

there's the one where she's holding a knife,

the one where she's like, "Beyonce".

- Beyonce, Beyonce, Beyonce.

- Over the course of the last year

I've been in contact with New York and I've just wanted

to get an, a sense of who she actually is.

So right now you guys are getting the CliffsNotes version

of my time with Tiffany but if you want the full scoop

on her, you can read my profile on BuzzFeed News.

(upbeat music)

Contrary to popular belief,

she's like deeply, deeply religious.

- I mean, I wanna go into televangilism just because

I feel like when I go, what's the one thing you'll do,

you would do it for free, you don't have to get paid?

- Yeah. - That would be it for me.

- I've learned that she definitely embraces the Internet.

- I don't care what comes out, it's always gonna be,

remember when that bitch almost spit on you,

or spit on, like you know what I mean?

Doesn't matter, you can never leave certain things down.

- Another thing I learned about Tiffany is like,

she definitely feels like this is something

that she's worked very hard for that she has earned.

- So I came on the scene at a time where

there wasn't a lot of energy like me,

there was not a lot of big personalities.

So my people told me that I'm iconic

and I'm a pioneer on the HBIC.

It makes sense to me.

- It's been more than a decade since Tiffany Pollard

came onto the scene and people still love her.

In fact, the THNK 1994 Museum dedicated

an entire exhibit to her greatest career moments.

It was there that I got to see how much people

who are actually infatuated with Tiffany.

- Any time she's on TV, she makes art,

and then she makes something that is like,

can withstand the test of time.

- She's based from such an honest place

and such a self-aware place.

- She's the Head Bitch In Charge of New York.

- She is reality television, like, she's New York.

- Tiffany surprised everybody by coming to the actual museum

and everyone went crazy.

- [Host] And so she's escorted upstairs to this VIP section

and then a fight breaks out.

- It literally seemed like it was something

that actually was happening in one of her reality shows.

- You would think after all of that,

that people would leave, but no,

people stayed and showed that

they still had love for New York.

And that is the power of Tiffany New York Pollard.

Composting 101: Here's What Happens to Your Food Waste | NowThis - Duration: 6:08.

Today I' m on a mission to find out how my old food gets turned into compost.

According to the EPA, every year, food accounts for 20% of what Americans throw away.

This is a huge issue because food, and other organic materials like paper towels, in landfills

cause 15% of methane gas emissions in the U.S.

Your leftover food doesn't have to end up at a landfill.

Instead, you can give it a second life as compost, a.k.a. natural fertilizer for plants.

I wanted to find out how this works, so I decided to follow my own food scraps.

For about a month, I've been collecting my old scraps and keeping them in my freezer

so they don't smell.

These are the old scraps that I've been keeping in my freezer.

You can see, egg shells, tea bags, tops of peppers, all these things are compostable.

And today I'm going to drop them off and compost them.

If you don't live in a city, you can compost in your backyard by getting a big composting container.

Search online to see what works best for you.

If you're in a city, you can keep your scraps in your freezer or get a small container to

keep inside your house or apartment.

Check if you're covered by a curbside collection program or a food scraps drop-off program.

Today, I'm taking my waste to a food scraps drop-off site in Union Square.

New York's Department of Sanitation and partner groups run 60 food scrap drop-off sites

covering 3.9 million New York residents.

Most locations are open 1-3 days per week.

After adding my food to the collection barrels,

I'm ready to follow them to the compost processing site.

"These barrels are full.

We're gonna cap them up and we're gonna put them in the truck

and we'll head to the site."

The NYC compost project and the Lower East Side Ecology Center have been turning New Yorker's

food scraps into compost on a one-acre plot in lower Manhattan for over 20 years.

"We accept vegetarian food waste, fruits, vegetables, egg shells, coffee grounds, tea bags.

We do not accept any oily prepared foods, meats, cheeses, none of that stuff.

And why is that?

Because the composting process that we use here is not to the scale that it can break

down the pathogens that are present in the meats and prepared foods."

Each week, they handle around 8 tons of food scraps.

And that is just a tiny fraction of the over 14,000 tons of food New York residents throw

in the trash every week.

After food scraps arrive at the site, they are transported into bins and combined with

sawdust.

Composting requires two types of materials –

Compost piles need a proper mix of both to properly break down.

Basically, composting you're creating this ecosystem for the bacteria and fungi to do

the work that they're built to do.

And that's the decomposition process.

The bins protect the material from pests as liquid drains off, and the decomposition process

is kick-started.

Then after two weeks, the decomposing food is moved to big, long piles called windrows.

The windrows' long shape allows oxygen to better reach the decomposing material and

creates ideal conditions for the scraps to breakdown.

For the next 2-3 months, the piles are turned over every week so that oxygen can reach

the decomposing soil.

The final phase, the compost sits for 1 to 2 months in a process called 'curing.'

This period allows the pile to cool down and to become even more rich with fungi, bacteria,

and nutrients that plants love.

After curing, the compost is sent through a screen so that only small, fine pieces are left.

Anything that's not compostable will remain as garbage at the end of the process.

I hate these, these are fruit stickers.

They're everywhere in our compost process.

So if you're composting, take off your fruit stickers before you put it in a compost bin.

Based on the outside temperature, the full composting process takes about 4-6 months.

The NYC Compost Project gives away or sells the final compost back to residents or to the city.

We take our finished compost and we add it to tree beds across New York City to help

rebuild the health of trees.

One of our strong missions is to rebuild New York City soil

and so by collecting New Yorkers' food scraps, we're able to produce compost to rebuild

the soil in the city.

The EPA estimates about 5% of U.S. food gets composted.

Despite that current low rate, composting programs are on the rise across the U.S.

like the one I used in New York City.

And curbside collection programs have risen by 87% since 2014.

That same year, New York City launched the nation's largest compost curbside pick-up program.

hopefully my neighborhood will be covered soon.

Keeping food out of landfills is an important part of the fight against climate change.

When food scraps go to landfill, they don't get any oxygen,

and so they don't properly break down,

instead they release methane,

By composting, we're decreasing the amount of greenhouses gases released

into the atmosphere

Not only that, sending food waste to the dump is costly and it's inefficient.

Waste is New York City's biggest export.

So we send a lot of organic matter— heavy, wet organic matter to other states.

The whole region accepts our trash as an import so that they can bury it in their own landfills.

It's not really the greatest system.

We're burying a resource on the ground and making it impossible to use it again, creating

greenhouse gases, and not to mention the crazy amount of resources that are required to transport

all of that material.

It's so amazing to think that the food scraps that I dropped off today

in just a few months, could become beautiful compost like this.

The Vitamix Aer Disc Container is here! You want to see it? - Duration: 6:03.

Guess what I got in the mail.

What? Guess.

Another Vitamix.

Close.

Yay! Close.

Guess again. Oh, that Aer Disc thing?

Yeah.

I don't know what it is.

I have no idea what that is either. Should we figure it out?

Let's open it! Aright!

You got that Aer Container book.

Do you want to look through it and figure out some cool things to make?

No, I want to eat my lunch.

Why?

Hi Ezzie.

What did we make for lunch?

Must-go stir-fry.

Yum. Must-go stir-fry.

OK we got muddling for mojitos.

Do you know that every bartender

hates making mojitos,

so they just say "we're out of mint."

Wow.

It's a lot of steps. But, I guess...

I would order five mojitos at the pool

if it was unlimited.

I just love mojitos so much.

Strawberry lemonade.

Yum.

Emulsify hollandaise sauce.

We make a good hollandaise sauce.

Tomato basil vinaigrette.

So a salad dressing.

Garlic aioli.

These are the things I think about when you say emulsify.

Foam.

Chilled chai latte

with foam on top. Yum.

Is it milk foam? Yeah, of course.

Maybe cashew milk?

Cashew milk does okay.

Coconut milk I heard does okay.

Hot chocolate.

The marshmallows or the hot chocolate?

Because that picture looks delicious.

Pisco sour?

Yum. Pisco.

What's pisco?

It's like an old-fashioned drink that's suddenly back in.

It's popular again.

A bachelorette party drink.

You could, like, it gets icy cold, too.

(Baby excited scream)

And then whipped cream.

What are we gonna make? Everything is made with milk.

(Dissapointed baby scream).

Aquafaba whip!

Okay.

And then,

blackberry panacada.

More heavy cream.

This is like a heavy cream machine.

Ice cream Brandy Alexander.

Sounds kinda nice.

So it's a lot of cocktails.

So what are we gonna make.

We'll make one cocktail.

Hang on. A dressing. We'll do one of the four.

All four.

We'll muddle something.

Emulsify. We'll emulsify something.

Whip. We'll...

We'll foam something.

And then whip.

And then whip.

Whip it.

Whip it. Whip it good. (singing "whip it").

No sleep?

No, screw that. No nap.

I want to walk.

I want to see the world

from your shoulders.

Don't drop the baby.

Drop the camera.

OK. Deal.

(baby crying)

(singing "You are my sunshine")

(shushing baby)

Well the goal today was to

show off that Aer Container

and do everything with it.

But it's time to go make dinner.

So that's your cue

to go make dinner with your family.

Opinion | China is reforesting land the size of Ireland. Here's what that looks like. - Duration: 4:25.

Lu Liu is a video journalist based in Beijing. Clarissa Pharr is an associate editor of The WorldPost

DAYANG, China — In January, China's State Forestry Administration announced an enormous reforestation campaign, a project that pledges to reforest more than 16 million acres of land, an area roughly the size of Ireland, within the year

Chinese President Xi Jinping has led China on an effort to create an "ecological civilization," in part through environmental restoration projects and crackdowns on polluting industries

The historically coal-dependent nation said in March that it is ahead of schedule on the quest to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 40 to 45 percent by 2020

Xi has emphasized international climate deals and pledged to stop all emissions increases by 2030 to comply with the Paris climate agreement

Meanwhile, China continues to race ahead on renewable energy and electric cars. The national reforestation project aims to plant a million acres of trees in Hebei province, the industry-heavy area that encircles the smoggy capital city, Beijing

Traditionally a region of steel manufacturing and coal processing, Hebei contained the top six most polluted cities in the country in 2016, according to the Chinese Ministry of Environmental Protection

Industrial development has wreaked havoc on places like Yueming River in Hebei, where people say birds no longer sing and you can smell the stench from over a mile away

Some also blame the pollution for high rates of cancer in the area. To combat the pollution and environmental degradation, Hebei aims to increase its total forest area by 35 percent by the end of 2020 and has deployed 60,000 workers to plant trees

Yet as Xi pushes forward with his plan, not everyone is happy. Here in the village of Dayang, a farmer named Tian Datuan found his livelihood destroyed when the government forced him, like his neighbors, to turn his land over for reforestation and banned him from growing his usual crops of wheat and corn

"It left me no choice but to rent it out," he told The WorldPost. Tian now earns about $15 a day working alongside the 300 to 400 or so villagers who have taken up tree planting for government wages

"I don't have any land anymore," he said. "All has given way to trees. It was taken

" By early spring, workers in Dayang village had planted about 1,300 acres of trees toward the province's overall million-acre goal

Tian, though, wishes he could go back to the way it used to be, before the reforestation campaign began

"Of course I think wheat farming is better," he said. "This land used to belong to me

" This was produced by The WorldPost, a partnership of the Berggruen Institute and The Washington Post

Dear Cape Town... here's why I'm leaving - Duration: 10:00.

Dear Cape Town... here's why I'm leaving

Cape Towns V&A Waterfront.jpg Image: Cape Town Tourism A chartered accountant has penned an open letter that has rekindled the debate around whether Cape Town is a truly African city with opportunities for black professionals.

Tinyiko Ngwenya's letter‚ posted on her LinkedIn page on Sunday‚ starts with the words‚ "I never thought I'd ever see this day coming.

Me leaving Cape Town to return to the city of gold‚ Johannesburg." She goes on to describe a "deep and tragic sense of loneliness" and experiencing an identity crisis while working in the city.

"No matter how hard I worked‚ I never really felt good enough‚ and that inferiority complex was as a result of being a minority‚" she explained.

While she acknowledged that she was not strong enough to stay and drive the change required to transform her environment‚ she said: "I honestly got tired of being an angry black and I hope youll forgive me for wanting to just be in an environment where I too can flourish." Ngwenya is an investment professional who worked at Old Mutual Investment Group.

Many agreed with her observations in the corporate environment and social settings.

Some put it down to issues around race‚ while others said there were cliques akin to an "old boys club" in the Mother City.

Some commentators pointed out that all cities had their own horror stories that newcomers had to navigate through.

Yolanda Katsi arrived in Cape Town in 2016 and said‚ in a reply to the post‚ that she could not find a hair salon that catered for black hair on Bree Street.

She had to pick up her helper from the bus stop because minibus taxis "did not reach my neighbourhood".

She moved back to Johannesburg.

Vusumzi Kiva had positive and negative observations about his five-year stint in Gauteng‚ which he said‚ "don't necessarily make it a 'bad' place.

I had various experiences‚ including that of being made to feel an outsider at times‚ but my character wouldn't bow to that." Here is the letter‚ in full.

Tell us what you think at TimesLIVE on Facebook.

Dear Cape Town I never thought I'd ever see this day coming.

Me leaving Cape Town to return to the city of gold‚ Johannesburg.

I had spent my whole adulthood in Cape Town‚ from beginning my tertiary education at the University of Cape Town in 2009 to becoming the well-rounded investment professional that I am today.

In these nine years I've grown so much to be the person that I am today; I've had my heart broken more times than I would like to admit and have made friends who have shown me a love that has made me a true believer in humanity.

My time in Cape Town has been so magical‚ I couldn't have lived a life more fuller than the one I had.

So why then would I walk away from a city that filled me with priceless memories? From a career point‚ Johannesburg makes sense for me.

I'm young‚ I'm a qualified Chartered Accountant with almost six years of working experience and by August next year plan on seeing an e-mail to inform me that I have passed my CFA level III exam and can proudly add the Chartered Financial Analyst qualification to my business card.

Yes‚ Asset Management is in Cape Town but the world of business and countless opportunities lies in Johannesburg.

Johannesburg makes sense.

I wish I could tell you that my decision to move back to Johannesburg was solely career driven but the truth is‚ it was a deep and tragic sense of loneliness and an identity crisis that drove me to make that tough decision.

In this fast-paced output driven world we live in‚ culture and identity is something we tend to overlook.

When we think about what makes us the individuals that we are‚ we are quick to articulate our achievements that qualifies the angle at which our chin raises when we walk about‚ yet we somehow look over our ethnicity only to be reminded of it once in a while when we need to fill out an official form.

In the years that I lived in Cape Town‚ I struggled with my identity to the point that it started affecting my confidence.

You cannot truly realise your full potential until you are completely comfortable with yourself.

No matter how hard I worked‚ I never really felt good enough and that inferiority complex was as a result of being a minority.

A minority‚ you laugh.

It sounds ridiculous‚ but that's exactly what I was.

A minority in my own country‚ a minority in Africa.

Wherever I was‚ I was the only African (read black) person.

I was the only African in my investment team‚ I was the only African in any given coffee shop‚ in any given wine farm‚ bless my Cape Town friends but none of them are black.

Dont tell Andile Khumalo but I always secretly looked forward to doing the business and economic update on Power FM just to hear him say my name‚ Tinyiko Ngwenya.

The very name that my parents thought long and hard about had been used in vain for so long‚ pronounced so incorrectly that it made me hate introducing myself.

Many wouldn't even bother trying to pronounce my name and just cop out by calling me "Tiny.

How can one be truly confident about themselves when they aren't even confident enough to introduce themselves using their name? Coming back home to visit my family in Johannesburg was always a culture shock.

In my workplace where I spent most of my time‚ I would only hear Afrikaans and English‚ granted there were a few Xhosa speaking colleagues but not one person for me to speak my home tongue‚ Tsonga to.

The beauty about Johannesburg is that when you walk in a mall‚ you're guaranteed to hear at least four if not more South African languages being spoken.

What's even more beautiful is that because the languages are spoken so often and people integrate with each other as opposed to remaining in cliques (which is what Cape Town is known for)‚ a Sotho person can ask a Zulu speaking individual a question in their own language and the Zulu person will understand what it is that they are asking.

So coming home meant falling in line and speaking Tsonga‚ a language I only got to speak whenever I was home so naturally over time you would start hearing the difference between my Tsonga and the Tsonga that my family spoke.

You can imagine how insecure I felt when I spoke Tsonga to someone from Limpopo‚ I'd always wonder if they would call me out for being a hybrid (my mother is Sotho).

Outside of the language shock‚ a bigger culture shock for me was seeing successful black individuals.

Black people in suits‚ black people eating in fancy restaurants and boy oh boy did my head spin when I saw a black woman driving an Aston Martin! My people were flourishing and it was amazing to witness.

Every time I would meet a friend for lunch at 24 Central in Sandton‚ I would meet other young‚ ambitious black professionals and think to myself‚ flippen hell these people are taking over the world! In Cape Town‚ I had no role models to look up to.

There were no self-made‚ black professionals who were doing so well in their fields.

How do you convince a child in Khayelitsha that they too can achieve financial freedom when the environment that they're living in constantly reminds them that Constantia and Camps Bay is not where they belong.

Corporates in Cape Town always blame the slow progress in transformation on black professionals leaving for Johannesburg and never staying long enough to transform the organisations.
