Fiat Chrysler is recalling almost 5 million vehicles in the U.S. over fears they could

get stuck in cruise control.

The recall affects certain Jeep, Ram, Dodge and Chrysler models built between 2014 and

2018.

The company says the problem occurs if a short-circuit in a specific electrical network happens at

the same time that cruise control is accelerating.

It also notes a vehicle's brakes should be able to overpower the acceleration so the

vehicle can be stopped.

Fiat Chrysler says they don't know of any injuries or accidents involving any of the

affected vehicles.

  The fleet of 21 repurposed, mobile service Model S cars are located at Tesla service centres across the UK, with other fleets elsewhere in the world bringing the total to around 350

  Inside, the five rear seats (three on the back bench and two smaller seats in the boot) of the Model S are removed and replaced with a suite of tools on a rack of sliding trays, which itself slides out

Built-in tools include a compressor and charger for power tools – and a coffee machine

  In the 'frunk' (the front-located boot), more tool storage has been facilitated by removing the carpet and reinforcing the floor for heavier items

Many of the converted cars are former loan cars, and all are wrapped into a uniform with Tesla branding on the sides

Tesla managers worked with technicians to develop the kit, collaborating on the tools fitted, their accessibility and what is needed for a mobile repair

  The conversion takes several hours to complete, although the tool unit's fitment has been simplified by making it a single item that bolts into the mounting points of the seats

  Callouts for the mobile service vehicles are carried out within 72 hours and can be done without the owner present, as the cars can be opened by the owner via Tesla's smartphone app

While at the moment these special Model Ss will be used for simpler repairs, the kit they come with could soon become more extensive - Tesla managers and technicians are discussing how to improve it - to enable more ambitious fixes

Eventually, lower-level repairs will no longer require customers to take their car to a Tesla service centre, with the work instead being carried out on location

Young boy dead after being found inside vehicle in Burlington, Halton police say

A young boy is dead after he was found in a vehicle in Burlington, Ont. , Halton Regional Police say.

Emergency crews were called to the Crossroads Centre, a faith-based television station on North Service Road, around 5:30 p.m. ET Wednesday following reports of a boy who wasnt breathing. Police and EMS attempted life-saving measures, but were not successful, according to Insp.

Halton Regional Police Service received a call from a hysterical male indicating that a child was vital signs absent, Odoardi said. Investigators were seen in the parking lot leading a visibly distraught man from an ambulance.

The boy, who police believe is three years old, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say that by the time they arrived, the boy was outside the vehicle.

We are saddened by this. Were saddened by any situation in which a death occurs, let alone in which a young child dies, said Odoardi. We offer the deepest condolences..

Police would not comment on whether the heat was a factor in the childs death. Environment Canada predicted a high of 28 C for Wednesday.

Odoardi said he did not know how long the child was in the vehicle. Police are speaking with all witnesses identified at the scene.

Next of kin has been notified, according to Odoardi, who added the service is continuing to contact family members. Police expect to know more after an autopsy Thursday to determine the cause of death.

Cheryl Mahyr, spokesperson for the Office of the Chief Coroner, told CBC News that results of the autopsy likely wont be immediate.

Autopsies encompass more than just the internal examination, she said in an email. They include examination of tissues under microscope so in reality, autopsies take weeks to complete especially if additional tests/examinations are ordered i.e. toxicology.

Mahyr also said the coroner does not publicly disclose information on results from its investigations.
