Scientific probe concludes recent drone was sent from North Korea - Duration: 2:09.

South Korea is now officially pointing the blame at North Korea for the recent drone

intrusion into the South.

The drone, which contained numerous pictures of THAAD site in Seongju County, was found

in mountains near the border about two weeks ago

Leading us off this afternoon, is our defense ministry correspondent, Kim Hyun-bin.

South Korea's defense ministry announced on Wednesday that the drone found in a remote

border region was from North Korea.

They say the drone was sent from Kumgang County in the North sometime in early May and crossed

the Military Demarcation Line.

""Analysis shows that the drone was sent from Kumgang County in the North on May 2nd.

It surveilled Seongju County, where THAAD is deployed, then crashed on its way back

-- a clear indication that it was sent by Pyongyang.

This act by North Korea is a clear military provocation... violating the Armistice Agreement

and the bilateral non-aggression pact."

, 5 2 , . , ' ' ' ' .

The drone flew for five and a half hours,... heading south to Seongju County in Gyeongsangbuk-do

Province,... the site where THAAD is deployed.

The ministry says some 550 photos were taken, including images of border units and the missile

defense system.

The drone crashed on its way back North in the mountains in Inje, Gangwon Province...

before it could make it back over the MDL.

The ministry says the drone is a model similar to one found on Baengnyeong-do Island in 2014,

but added that North Korea has made some improvements to the battery and gas tank, which enabled

the drone to fly farther.

South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff warned that North Korea bears responsibility for

any future provocations.

""Our military condemns North Korea's continuous drone infiltrations and urges the North once

again to halt its provocations.

If Pyongyang continues to provoke our military, we will respond with strength.

North Korea is warned that it alone is responsible for its actions going forward."

, . , , .

The South Korean military is currently developing counter-drone capabilities, including low

altitude radar and artillery that can detect and shoot down enemy drones.

The Black Comedian Who Was Almost One of the Three Stooges - Duration: 8:25.

The Black Comedian Who Was Almost One of the Three Stooges

There's a good chance you've never heard of Mantan Moreland.

But, if you are lucky enough to have seen him in a film—any film—you'll definitely

remember him.

Moreland's comic timing manages to transcend the decades in films like King of the Zombies

(1941), where he steals the show, saving what would otherwise be a completely forgettable

(and by now, probably long-forgotten) comedy-horror flick.

While changing attitudes about black roles in film may have hastened Moreland's fall

from popularity, he's finally being rediscovered as the talented character actor and comedy

genius that he was.

Had history unfolded just a little differently, Mantan Moreland would most likely have never

become forgotten in the first place.

In fact, he once came awfully close to being cast as one of the Three Stooges (more on

that later).

In an era when segregation was in full swing, the fact that he was strongly considered to

be part of the internationally-known trio, let alone be the choice of Moe and Shemp Howard

themselves, speaks to his considerable talent as a comedian.

Cutting his teeth on the brutally competitive vaudeville stage, Moreland honed his comedy

skills doing several live shows a day.

Vaudeville was a cutthroat business.

With dozens of performers waiting in the wings, any act that faltered for even a moment would

be yanked—if not booed—off the stage.

Former vaudevillians like Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, and Bob Hope owe their cinema

stardom largely to the quick-thinking and high level of professionalism required to

make it big onstage.

It worked for Moreland, too.

His talent as a comedian on what was then known as "the chitlin' circuit"—the

string of nightclubs and theaters deemed safe for black comedians during segregation—soon

led to roles in movies.

Moreland's earliest roles were in "race films," made with black actors for black

audiences.

His first screen role was as a night watchman in a haunted pawn shop in That's the Spirit

(1933), followed by a small role as an angel in The Green Pastures (1936), a retelling

of Biblical stories as black American folklore (Rex Ingram, Disney's original choice for

Uncle Remus, played "De Lawd").

Moreland was quickly moved up to supporting roles in all-black westerns like Harlem on

the Prairie (1937) and Two-Gun Man from Harlem (1938), playing the comic sidekick to Herb

Jeffries (better known as the Bronze Buckaroo, America's first black singing cowboy).

Recognizing his talent, studios soon snapped him up to play comic relief roles in mainstream

movies (in other words, with white casts), but his real break came when he was paired

with Frankie Darro in a series of crime comedies.

The two appeared in the films as porters, bellhops, or pages who stumble across murder

cases (hijinks, of course, ensue).

While Moreland's performances are stereotypical of the era (he's always the frightened one),

the films represent a huge turning point on the part of the studio: Moreland and his white

co-star are depicted as friends and equals.

A high point of the series is when he and Darro recreate one of the bits that made Moreland

a hit on the stage.

The "indefinite talk" bit appears in Up in the Air (1940), and pays homage to the

routine he developed with Ben Carter, in which the two would finish each other's sentences.

Like this:

Moreland: "I haven't seen you since…"

Carter: "Longer than that!"

Moreland: "Last time I saw you, you lived over…"

Carter: "Oh I moved from there."

Moreland: "Yeah?"

Carter: "Sure, I moved over to…"

Moreland: "How can you live in that neighborhood?"

The series came to an end when Frankie was drafted during World War II, but Monogram

hung onto Moreland, recognizing him for the amazing talent he had.

Perhaps intentionally, he was featured in some otherwise-lackluster films, injecting

a healthy dose of humor where there would have been none.

King of the Zombies (1941) is perhaps the best known, and nearly every single line spoken

by Moreland is memorable, from "Move over, boys, I'm one of the gang now!" to "If

there's anything I wouldn't want to be twice, zombies is both of them."

(You can watch the film here.)

Moreland was somewhat less valued at other studios, where he didn't receive top billing,

but his role in Universal's The Strange Case of Dr. X (1942) caught the eye of Three

Stooges cast member Shemp Howard.

The two appeared together in a gambling scene, and Howard was impressed with Moreland's

comic timing.

He suggested to brother Moe that Moreland would be the perfect replacement stooge, should

the need ever arise.

Meanwhile, Moreland was cast as chauffeur Birmingham Brown in Monogram's series of

Charlie Chan films.

While "chauffeur" certainly doesn't sound like a memorable role, Moreland, as

usual, made the character one of the most memorable parts of the series.

In fact, he was the only actor to stay on board for the entire run, appearing in 15

of the 17 films.

In two of the Charlie Chan films, Moreland got to reprise his indefinite talk bit with

original vaudeville partner Ben Carter.

Both The Scarlet Clue (1945) and Dark Alibi feature versions of the routine that made

him famous, and the movies are worth a watch if just for those segments alone.

When the series ended in 1949, Moreland saw less and less work.

Some attribute his disappearance to the decline of the B-movie in an era that was embracing

television, but many historians and biographers think it had more to do with changing political

attitudes.

Black men as servants and chauffeurs were not seen as funny so much as demeaning.

It didn't help that Moreland's shtick was to play the skittish, frightened man—another

stereotype.

On the other hand, his performances always seemed to transcend stereotype (and those

who knew him said that the deep Southern accent and the expressions were true to how Moreland

really was).

His scared-out-of-his-wits characters are really not that different from the ones played

by Bob Hope (see The Ghost Breakers, 1940).

It's easy to understand, though, why Moreland's scared routine sits a little uncomfortably

today, especially as he plays a servant to white men to boot—which is not something

Bob Hope had to do.

Remember Moe Howard's suggestion that Moreland would be a great Stooge if the need arose?

The need did just that in 1955, with the death of Shemp Howard.

At a time when Moreland could have used the work, the comedy team suddenly had need of

someone with brilliant comic timing and plenty of experience.

Moreland biographer Michael H. Price talked to Howard about just what a great idea it

was:

Mantan was responsive, when Larry (Fine) and I talked the idea over with him.

I mean, we'd all seen our better days by that time, but ol' Moreland, – now there

was a talent that could' a' invigorated the whole act!

He had the word play – you ever heard him do that 'anticipation' routine, where

he and one or another of his partners finished each other's sentences? – and he had the

physical shtick, the jive moves and double take receptions that would' a' filled

in the gaps when Jerome (Curly) and Shemp had kept covered.

The studio had other ideas, though, according to Howard:

But of course Columbia (Pictures' management) demanded a white guy, because they'd apparently

been scared off of Mantan, and we ended up with that prissy damned Joe Besser, who was

whatcha might call a pain…I've always thought what a great act the Stooges could'

a' stayed for a while, if only we'd' a' gone with Mantan.

And that was the end of that.

Having appeared in over 300 movies in his career, Moreland then only worked sporadically

in the industry until his death in 1973 from cerebral brain hemorrhage.

His last featured role was as a doomed delivery man in 1964's weirdly wonderful comedy-horror

film Spider Baby, and though the role was small, in true Mantan Moreland fashion, it

is not easily forgettable.

He played a few more blink-and-you'll-miss-them roles, wrapping up his film career as a man

almost run over by a motorcycle in the soft-core film The Young Nurses (1973).

Moreland made a few TV appearances on shows like "Adam 12" and "Love, American Style"

and released a few raunchy "party records" on the Laff label, including That Ain't

My Finger (his "mashed potatoes" punchline famously appears in the Beastie Boys song

"B-Boys Makin' With the Freak Freak").

One thing Moreland never stopped doing was the indefinite talk routine that originally

made him famous, performing it up until the last year of his life.

Mel Watkins, a black comedy historian, noted that to black audiences, it was as well-known

a classic as "Who's on First?" was to white audiences.

Once so famous that his films bore his real-life name (Mantan Runs for Mayor and Mantan Messes

Up, 1946), the actor is certainly not a household name today.

While he deserves rediscovery, one thing's for sure: if Columbia Pictures hadn't been

opposed to having a black comedian in one of the most beloved comedy groups of all time,

he wouldn't have needed to be rediscovered at all, and his name would have been sealed

in mainstream comedy history.

Comparing Beta & VHS on Quality: Was Beta Really Better? (Re-upload) - Duration: 9:52.

So, you've found yourself looking at a side-by-side comparison of Beta and VHS in 2017.

Awesome!

All kidding aside, here's a disclaimer: It's not exactly easy to find a Beta machine

in stellar shape.

These recordings were made with my best Beta VCR, which is well over 30 years old now.

This video has been re-uploaded to address an unfair advantage the VHS footage had in

the previous version: the age of the VCR.

I didn't see this as a huge problem given it was a standard VHS unit, but user

did rightly point out that the newer VHS machine has VHS HQ enabled, and it has

digital signal processing which would give it an edge.

So, I set up the RCA dinosaur from 1979 and recorded the output from that machine, and

replaced the original VHS footage.

I didn't re-record the VHS tape with the RCA machine because it's doesn't record

so well, so it's possible that the VHS footage has the tiniest of edges given the tape's

been recorded on a newer machine, but still it's being played back on a venerable antique.

Note however that the audio from the original upload is still being used for the VHS segments.

And with that out of the way, let's continue.

This footage comes from a simple stroll around my local area (yes this is Downtown Lombard

and Lilacia Park, and I'm surprised how many people recognized it so quickly).

I shot this at 60 frames per second in full HD on my OnePlus 3, using a gimbal for a stable

image in the outdoor scenes.

I then made a DVD of this footage, then popped that DVD into a Playstation 2 and recorded

from the PS2's composite video output to a Beta machine and a VHS machine.

This is the Beta Machine, it's a Toshiba which brags about its front-loading system.

The VHS machine used to record onto the tape was this Panasonic DMR-ES40V.

I recorded the segments twice on both formats, at SP and SLP on VHS, and Beta 2 and 3 on

Beta. I did not record on Beta 1 because the vast majority of machines from as early as 1979

have Beta 1 disabled due to its impractical use of tape.

A 1 hour tape length wasn't long enough, and Sony decided it just wasn't worth it anymore

So I don't even own a machine capable of recording at Beta 1

and the vast majority of Beta machines throughout the format war could not record at Beta 1 speed.

I disabled HiFi sound on the VHS machine to ensure you are hearing the great mono linear

soundtrack.

After recording the segments, I used the DVD recorder function of the Panasonic to capture

the video from both VCRs over the same composite cable, and I used this machine for good reason.

All video capture cards that I've used produce garbage output because they insist on de-interlacing,

producing 30p footage that looks like crap.

This DVD recorder doesn't bother with De-interlacing and instead produces a glorious NTSC 29.97

frames per second, interlaced output.

Importantly, it can record onto DVD-RAM discs, which I then popped in my laptop.

The Panasonic unit writes .vro files on the DVD ram disc, and for some reason Sony Movie

Studio can open these files and understand them.

Premiere cannot.

So good thing I keep my laptop around.

I then rendered each of these output videos as a new NTSC standard mp4, at a ridiculously

high bit-rate to ensure all the analog smoothness is captured, and then onto a flash drive and

over to my desktop for editing in Premiere.

In the last video, I uploaded at 30p, and Premiere didn't do a good job deinterlacing

that time, either.

This upload is at 60p, and it looks much better.

Note that you may have to go full-screen on a PC to actually get the 60p footage.

I will blow these up and even to some split-screen magic, but if you're watching fullscreen

on even a 1366x768 display, you're getting all the detail possible.

Trust me, this is the clip scaled at 100% in a 1080p render.

See?

So, again due to the age of the Toshiba machine, you'll have to forgive some of its problems,

like the occasional signal dropout.

But for the most part, the image is stable.

I'll shut up for a moment and let the video speak for itself.

I'll be switching the audio source back and for for your viewing pleasure.

These stills are some royalty free images filled with color to show how color rendering

compares between the two formats.

Both VHS and Beta use a color-under encoding technique, and the resolution of the color

is quite poor compared to the image resolution.

Both formats struggle with red, but this Beta machine seems to be doing worse.

That could easily be just this particular machine.

The Indian head test card helps compare image resolution by comparing the converging line

patterns.

It's pretty similar.

On both formats the SMPTE color bars look pretty gnarly, particularly with magenta and

the red-blue border.

First off, the image is not noticeably sharper than VHS, at least I can't see a significant

difference.

There's nothing about the output from the Beta machine that says to me, this is superior

to VHS.

Aside from its occasional dropouts, it looks nearly identical.

EXCEPT, in this footage, look at the sky.

This is the so-called fingerprint effect that was present on virtually all Beta 2 recordings.

It's not always visible, but it's always there.

The Rise and Fall of Beta piece I referenced in the previous video discusses this phenomenon.

But, here's one area where Beta does visibly beat VHS.

The recording at Beta 3 is noticeably sharper than the SLP recording.

Sound is also slightly better, which would make sense as the linear tape speed on Beta

3 is higher than SLP.

The Beta machine which made these recordings has a high amount of wow and flutter in the

audio at Beta 3, and that is probably due to bad filter capacitors in the capstan motor

power supply.

However, as we exhaustively discussed in the last video, comparing Beta 3 to SLP is almost

wrong, as recording time is comparable being Beta 3 and VHS LP.

SLP provided recording time far far longer than any Beta 3 deck.

There appear to be no Beta machines capable of recording at all three speeds, with Beta

1 being disabled all the way back in 1979.

So to conclude, Beta 2 looks pretty close to VHS SP.

Which makes sense, as Beta 2 is in reality equivalent to VHS LP.

Remember, Beta 1 was sharper than VHS SP, but as Beta 2 was the technical companion

of VHS LP, the quality got pretty similar.

And again, Beta 1 (the technical companion to VHS SP) was disabled on the vast majority

of Beta decks.

As I said in the last videos, by disabling Beta 1, Sony got rid of much of the picture

advantage Beta had over VHS.

But I think they had to kill it off, after all a 2 hour base recording time on an L-500

tape sounds acceptable, but a 1 hour time on Beta 1 sounds almost useless.

I'll let this video play out, but before I go I thought I would mention the technical

cousin of Beta known as Betacam.

A lot of comments on the past video are saying that Beta never really lost the format war

because it lived on in the professional realm.

That's not correct, though, because Betacam is a completely different format from consumer

Betamax.

Yeah, betacam cassettes are mostly the same as your standard Beta tape, but you can't

play any Betacam recording on a standard issue consumer Beta deck.

Also, in the professional realm, the Betacam standard was amended to include a physically

larger Betacam L cassette which contained more tape, because at this point sony finally

threw in the towel and acknowledged that the standard Beta cassette was too small.

The professional market would benefit greatly by using the same basic cassette throughout

its iterations, and since professional equipment is pushing into new-car pricing territory,

cost was never too much of a barrier.

Betacam eventually became fully digital, even HD.

But again, it doesn't belong in a discussion on the format war, because Betacam was never

marketed to consumers.

Anyway, Thanks for watching!

Events Where Hulk Was Conquered! - Duration: 2:27.

All Defeats Of Hulk Hulk is a giant green monster and a giant

like him should have been invincible in general but that's not the case .In both movies

and comics we have seen him being beaten severely and smashed to the ground at times by other

superheroes.

Here checkout those pitiful moments of Hulk`s defeat.

AVENGERS AGE OF ULTRON: Iron man is a genius with technology.

He is always seen to be busy in the movies improvising and updating his robot suits from

time to time.

His robot suits are immensely powerful and are capable of knocking down a giant on the

ground as we have seen it in that scene where Iron man smashes and rampages Hulk saying

"Go to sleep."

Repeatedly.

To our astonishment Hulk thus goes to sleep!

X MEN ORIGIN: Wolverine has been casted as the opponent

of Hulk to put up more action and thrills in the movies.

However in duo face offs the win loss ratio of Hulk and Wolverine has always been 9:1.

Wolverine has the ability to behead his opponent using his sharp claws.

Due to some unknown reasons he has never attempted it on Hulk.

The giant when in furious anger can smash anyone severely and even though Wolverine

has his healing powers it would be difficult for this wild mutant to overcome such onslaught.

Therefore Wolverine has only managed once to defeat Hulk in the X Men Origin when he

was serving as a horseman of death.

Incredible Hulk (2001): In this annual edition of Incredible Hulk

the God of Asgards, Thor used his supreme thunder power and lightning bolts to conquer

this giant and left him unconscious for a few moments.

The Thunder God Thor with his physical strength is capable of destroying planets at once.

So when he knocked down Hulk it wasn't surprising for the readers at all.

The Amazing Spider man 2: Amidst all the superheroes spider man is a

misfit opponent for Hulk.

There is no such strong physical capability of Spider Man which he can use to defeat this

giant.

However, once Spider man acquired the power of Captain Universe.

He used this during a faceoff with Hulk and punched him so hard that Hulk was transported

to the space.

Quite unbelievable but it did happen!

How the Lexus SKYJET was made - Duration: 1:34.

Valerian and Laureline travel around on the space ship called The Intruder.

But sometimes The Intruder is too big so we use the SKYJET.

It can get us in and out of tough situations and zoom around in outer space.

Luc and I had been developing the initial SKYJET,

but when we got working back and forth with Lexus, they really helped push it over the edge.

We shared with them our designs on it and they were able to add special features.

They are specialists in aerodynamics so it made sense all together to work on the SKJYET with them.

Imaginative technologies are the Lexus direction.

Movies give us a hint of the future world.

Lexus is pursuing green technologies like Fuel Cell, but the Fuel Cell in the SKYJET is packaged in a small size bottle.

No one else is doing things like Lexus is. I think that what attracts Luc to a partnership like that.

It should be quite iconic and different as it flying through the movie.

There were times where I got to get in there and lie down, and pretend that I was saving the universe, so that a cool feeling.

Man Came Home And His House Was A Total Wreck, So He Asks His Wife About It - Duration: 2:41.

This one is a real "gotcha."

We know some folks that can really relate to this woman who keeps a might fine home…

usually.

If you can understand her dilemma, you might want to send this one to a friend!

A man came home from work and found his three children outside, still in their pajamas,

playing in the mud, with empty food boxes and wrappers strewn all around the front yard.

The door of his wife's car was open, as was the front door to the house and there

was no sign of the dog.

Proceeding into the entryway, he found an even bigger mess.

A lamp had been knocked over, and the throw rug was wadded against one wall.

In the front room the TV was loudly blaring a cartoon channel, and the family room was

strewn with toys and various items of clothing.

In the kitchen, dishes filled the sink, breakfast food was spilled on the counter, the fridge

door was open wide, dog food was spilled on the floor, a broken glass lay under the table,

and a small pile of sand was spread by the back door.

He quickly headed up the stairs, stepping over toys and more piles of clothes, looking

for his wife.

He was worried she might be ill, or that something serious had happened.

He was met with a small trickle of water as it made its way out the bathroom door.

As he peered inside he found wet towels, scummy soap, and more toys strewn over the floor.

Miles of toilet paper lay in a heap and toothpaste had been smeared over the mirror and walls.

As he rushed to the bedroom, he found his wife still curled up in the bed in her pajamas,

reading a novel.

She looked up at him, smiled, and asked how his day went.

He looked at her bewildered and asked: "What happened here?!"

She again smiled and answered, "You know every day when you come home from work and

you ask me what in the world I do all day?"

"Yes," was his incredulous reply.

She answered, "Well, today I didn't do it."
