Flamingo Land Theme Park & Zoo will be fully open from Saturday 1st April, packed with

great ideas to keep you, your family and friends entertained until Saturday 29th October 2017.

This goes for our Holiday Village too, including The Splash Zone, our extensive leisure complex

and The Club, our premium entertainment venue.

For anyone craving adrenaline fuelled thrills, the wait is over!

Our collection of 8 extreme rides are now ready and waiting just for you.

This includes Hero, our most recent addition, designed to simulate the breath-taking sensations

of a superhero in flight.

There is also the Guinness World Record Breaking Mumbo Jumbo, which claimed the world's steepest

drop in 2009!

POSTAL SERVICE GAVE SMOKEY HIS

HE LIVED AT THE ZOO FOR 26

YEARS.

HE IS BURIED IN NEW MEXICO AT

SMOKEY BEAR NATIONAL PARK.

WE STILL CELEBRATE SMOKEY BEAR'S

BIRTHDAY EACH YEAR IN CAPITAN.

HE WOULD HAVE BEEN 73 THIS YEA

AND NO CLUE HOW INFLUENTIAL HE

WAS IN SPARKING A NATIONWIDE

Land Sailing in New Zealand - Duration: 3:48.

Woops

Hey everybody

We are in Christchurch, New Zealand today

and we've got a bit of wind which is good news cuz today we're gonna have to rely on it

See these things behind me?

Those are called blokarts they are gokarts with no engine but have sails on them

So I've never sailed before land or water

So we're gonna see what land sailing is like

Come join me

Cool, so once you're in you've got your rope

If you were a sailor this would be your mainsheet

We just call it your rope, ok

so pulling on the rope

brings the sail towards the center of the kart

creates more wind pressure in the sail and it's what drives you forward

So pulling on it's gonna make you go faster letting go of the rope makes you go slower

So if you're going along, especially around corners

sometimes if the wind gusts up there is the potential that you can pop up onto two wheels

ok, if you're not in good control just let the rope go

Please bear with me if the footage is bumpy cuz it's kinda rough and rocky out there

(I still don't know how the physics of sailing works)

(but for these blokarts, all I did was follow their instructions and I was up and running in no time)

It was crazy too it just kind of came on

A switch, then all of a sudden BOOM

it happens like that

Oh my gosh that was so much fun
