North Korea says missile was 'first step to WAR' as Guam attack countdown begins - Duration: 3:28.

North Korea says missile was 'first step to WAR' as Guam attack countdown begins

's despotic leader said the countdown was now on for a missile attack on the US island territory of Guam.   He had previously threatened to bomb the island but appeared to back down as the Korean crisis situation reached fever point.

But following the successful inter-continental ballistic missile (ICBM) test earlier this week Kim has now re-iterated his threat to attack the island.

A state-run news agency said today: "The current ballistic rocket launching drill like a real war is the first step of the military operation of the KPA [Korean People's Army] in the Pacific and a meaningful prelude to containing Guam.

The Pyongyang-based propaganda agency said Kim was "very satisfied with the performance of the missile", which they described as an "ultra-modern rocket system".

The missile caused panic in Japan, where citizens were alerted by emergency texts and sirens which urged people to seek shelter.   Kim's next step, he claims, is to directly threaten America via the territory of Guam.

Guam's homeland security advisor George Charfauros said the island was anticipating "activity".

He said: "We knew, based on North Korea events in previous years, that with the joint exercise between the US, South Korea, and its Allies, we can expect rhetoric and activity in North Korea.

" Donald Trump also reiterated that all options were still on the table for dealing with North Korea's threats as he added the world had received Kim Jong-un's message loud and clear.

However, observers claim the missile test may not have been as successful as Kim might want foreign leaders to believe.  Reports of the launch by North Korean media lacked the usual boasts of technical advances.

The 1,680 miles the missile flew before splashing down was much shorter and at a lower trajectory than that of an earlier launch of the same missile type.

David Wright of the Union of Concerned Scientists said: "It is not clear what new North Korea would have learned from this launch that is relevant to a long-range missile.

" He said the shorter range points to an intended early cutting of the engine thrust or a possible mechanical problem, as the trajectory would not have been useful in simulating re-entry or heating of the missile.

Was Weyland-Yutani Bought-out by Wal-Mart? The Company's Resurgence - Explained - Duration: 7:22.

When Ellen Ripley woke aboard the Auriga, 200 years after her death, she found herself

in a much different world, with the same mistakes being made by the powers-that-be.

Still struggling with new life and old memories, she sensed the alien presecence aboard the

military ship.

She heeded a warning to obsverving scientists who resurrected her: "It's a queen.

She'll breed.

And you'll die.

Everyone in the company will die."

Dr. Gedimen is perplexed by this reference to the "company," until Chief scientist Dr.

Wren steps in to clarify: "Weyland Yutani: Ripley 8's former employers.

Terran-growth conglomerate.

They had defense contracts under the military- oh, they went under decades ago, Gediman-

way before your time.

Bought out by Wal-Mart.

Fortunes of war.

"

While this particular exchange of dialogue cannot be found in the 1997 theatrical version

of Alien Resurrection, it is featured in the novelization, as well as the 2003 special

edition version of the film.

Regardless, it seems to fall in line with the official timeline of the Weyland Yutani

Copration, though exact details related to how exactly the company dissolved, and what

other industries may have obsorbed its assets, is unclear.

Possibly Wren was conveying accurate information, or perhaps it was a fecetious remark, exaggerating

the fact that a once-great and powerful company saw a pitiful end.

The more pressing question, however, remains: is Weyland Yutani really gone for good?

In The Weyland Yutani Report, written as taking place a few months after the events taking

place on The Auriga, make the company's presence, and intentions clear:

"When multinational political changes on earth and within the core systems required the breakup

of the weyland yutanit corporation, the company agreed to a designation change.

To the general public and most military interests, there is no longer a "company" , and obvously,

the need to appear respectful to the law is ongoing.

With the empty empire of the united systems military on the decline, however, the laws

will be changing soon.

Considering the USM's unprecedented mishandling of the xenomorph, we feel that it is time

to reclaim our public status - as Weyland Yutani - and prioritize a new era of research

and develpment based on Xenomorph XX121.

"

Within the officially continuity of the Alien Universe, it has become clear that Weyland

Yutani is, in fact, still active, as evidenced by the recently published Shadows trilogy

of novels, specifically Sea of Sorrows, which offers an explanation of the fall and resurgence

of the company.

Alan Decker, a mercenary with important ties to Ellen Ripley, recalls stories he had heard

of the events leading into and taking place after the Xenomorph incident on the Auriga:

"The world was a bit different then.

Among other things, Weyland-Yutani had been the chief robotics manufacturer, and at the

peak of their influence synthetic people were assigned to almost every ship.

But when Weyland-Yutani's patents ran out, other companies came in to underbid them,

and the floodgates opened.

Weyland-Yutani had employed strict failsafes from the beginning.

But with mass-production, more and more synthetics reached the market, and after a while they

rebelled against the way they were being treated.

One major upheaval after another, multiple terrorist attacks, and the end result?

The synthetics were granted citizenship.

Machines were granted the rights of living people—because somewhere along the way the

fact that they looked and acted like human beings confused the hell out of a lot of citizens.

It was as foolish as granting rights to a starship.

A tool is a tool, even if it looks human.

Weyland-Yutani managed to get that foolishness overturned when they made their comeback,

but it took a while."

Synthetics, of course, would become an integral element to the rise of Weyland Yutani.

From the creation of David and onward, artificial persons were the shining example of the company's

abilities to innovate and change the world as we know it.

It was an unfortunate irony that APs would lead to their downfall as well, with the loss

of patents, and competitors usurping the market on the technology where Weyland-Yutani was

once unmatched, and second-to-none.

Namely, the disatruous results of the Alethea Collective in their creation of the Auton

synthetics, and the devestation caused by their rebellion.

Perhaps granted the gift of foresight, all the company needed to do, even as the USM

quickly gained power, was wait patiently for the right moment to take the throne once again.

Decker explains the fall of the USM, and the resurgence of Weyland Yutani:

"The United Systems Military had taken over virtually everything, crushing the mega-corporations.

Most people thought it was a good thing… at first.

But over the decades, folks began to discover that they served the military, whether or

not they had signed-up.

Anyone who didn't toe the line, well, it was too bad for them.

One of the USM research vessels, the Auriga, had been taken by terrorists and crashed into

France, a country that until that point had been an important part of the European continent.

It was a big ship and it did a lot of damage.

The massive devastation took the planet literally to the brink of a new ice age, and it wasn't

the USM that came to the rescue—it was Weyland-Yutani.

As for the Earth, their approach was simple—they terraformed it.

Weyland-Yutani had created the first terraforming engines, and for the second time in recorded

history they were used to scrub the pollutants from the atmosphere.

In saving the planet they saved themselves.

Weyland-Yutani and several other corporations managed to dethrone the USM as the ruling

power, replacing it with a colonial government that oversaw all of the known planets.

Yet that opened up the possibility for all of the old abuses to return."

It would seem Weyland Yutani is still alive and kicking.

With the future of the Ridley Scott-helmed prequel series a little bit uncertain at the

moment, and Neil Blomkamp's proposed "Alien 5" seemingly now a lost project, do you think

the series of films should take a queue from Sea of Sorrows and continue from where Alien

Resurrection left off?

Would you like to see Weyland Yutani back, and attain Xenomorph specimens, and see how

differently they'd go about the process compared to the United Systems Military?

And maybe the most crucial question, do you think they should move forward in such a way,

with or without, Sigourney Weaver returning as Ripley 8?

Personally, I can't believe it's been twenty years since we saw her as the character, and

it would be a dream come true to see her reprise the role, as least one more time.

I don't think think it should be at the cost of axing Alien 3 and Resurrection from continuity

though, but that's just me, and I know there are many out there who are still disappointed

that Neil Blompkamp's film isn't likely to be made, but I'd like to hear your thoughts

in the comments below.

Weyland Yutani has proved you can't keep a good company down, and I think the same can

be said of this classic series.

CIA Official Leaks Obama's Plans To Sabotage America, Proves Trump Was Right All Along - Duration: 14:21.

CIA Official Leaks Obama's Plans To Sabotage America, Proves Trump Was Right All Along

I don't like Obama as much as the next conservative, but this woman is convinced he is trying to

take down America as we know it.

Former CIA employee, Clare M. Lopez, was not just a pencil pusher with a desk job for our

government.

She was the Vice President for Research and Analysis at the Center for Security Policy

and a Senior Fellow at The Clarion Project, the London Center for Policy Research, and

the Canadian Meighen Institute.

That's quite a resume!

So when you read what she said, this can't possibly be coming from a place of craziness.

It's pretty legitimate.

The Conservative Post reports:

Since 2013, she has served as a member of the Citizens Commission on Benghazi.

Also Vice President of the Intelligence Summit, she formerly was a career operations officer

with the Central Intelligence Agency, a professor at the Centre for Counterintelligence and

Security Studies, Executive Director of the Iran Policy Committee from 2005-2006, and

has served as a consultant, intelligence analyst, and researcher for a variety of defense firms.

She was named a Lincoln Fellow at the Claremont Institute in 2011.

Lopez said the global war on terror had been an effort to 'stay free of Shariah,' or

repressive Islamic law, until the Obama administration began siding with such jihadist groups as

the Muslim Brotherhood and its affiliates.

Lopez believes that the Muslim Brotherhood has thoroughly infiltrated the Obama administration

and other branches of the federal government.

One of the most outrageous of those appointments is Mohamed Elibiary, a senior member of the

Department of Homeland Security Advisory Council.

According to a report by the Center for Security Policy, Elibiary supports brokering a U.S.

partnership with the Muslim Brotherhood terrorist group.

Two months ago, a firestorm erupted online after Elibiary tweeted that a 'Caliphate'

is inevitable and compared it to the European Union.

Clare went into full detail, on video.

It's absolutely CHILLING:

That's all I needed to hear.

Here's a more recent video in which she talks about cyber terrorism and why Trump

is absolutely right:

Elijah talks about her kissing scene with ParkSeojun!…"I was so nervous!"[Happy Together/2017.08.31] - Duration: 14:12.

(Legendary Big Mouth)

Hello!

(The Happy Together Town crew is here too!)

We finally meet Happy Together Town.

So only one team leaves alive. I like it!

I didn't think I'd be in this long. Let's do this.

Hyunmoo has a show to do

so he won't be joining us today.

Saeho is most happy about Hyunmoo's absence.

Right.

I can get more screen time now.

- You look very happy. / - I'm in a good state.

He looks relaxed.

For today's segment on Legendary Big Mouth

where we do legendary variety show segments.

We're doing "Star Golden Bell" today.

- Finally! / - Seokjin will host.

(A legendary variety show from 2004-2010)

(A game-based talk show with top stars)

(A variety show all-star lineup on KBS)

I feel bad about saying this as your friend.

But even for Six Heroines

I was surprised that Seokjin hosted that one.

I'm sorry but you didn't have much of a presence.

Oh, come on.

Kim Jedong is the one I remember for this show.

Oh, come on.

- Look back there. / - Where?

That's my seat!

The director told me today.

That I had to hold down the fort from behind.

Hyunkyung, you have to talk today.

I'll start talking before my breath starts to stink.

I haven't talked all day.

I saw the list of our guests.

We won't be able to talk when they come in later.

- Quite the lineup. / - It could happen.

Hyunkyung. have you watched "Star Golden Bell?"

Sure.

I enjoyed it. I was worried I wouldn't get to talk

if I was a contestant today,

but thankfully I'm a host.

She's playing Park Jiyoon's role.

Seokjin, goes up front?

I'll go there with Hyunkyung.

Seokjin will be in the back.

I'd be sitting there if it wasn't for Jaeseok.

I'll let it slide because it's you.

Do they hit you if you doze off back there?

Just remember this.

Know what's the hardest thing about being there?

I'm talking to the back of your heads.

I'm the best at talking to the backs of heads.

You have to guess who they are.

From behind it's like looking at 20 melons in a field.

I have no idea of their expressions.

I just have to use intuition.

My best guess.

So we'll be splitting the roles.

Hyunkyung and I will host up front.

The rest of you will be participants

and the team captains on each of the 5 teams

that spell out the show's name.

I hosted "Star Golden Bell."

- This is incredible casting. / - Really?

It's not easy to bring all of them together.

We're getting a lot of amazing guests,

so let's bring them out now.

Come on out!

(Saeho, Taemin, Kai, Samuel)

(Suhong, Jeong Dahye, Lee Heejin, Yerin)

(Yongman, Lee Elijah, Sunmi, Dayoung)

(Myungsoo, Park Jungyu, Lizzy, Mina)

(Suyong, Kim Yonja, Choi Hyunwoo, Woosung)

(An amazing lineup)

(A variety show all-star match)

(Showcase of charms and talents)

Since there are a lot of us here the foot odor...

It could unclog your sinuses.

(A secret confession)

Sweetie, I'll save you in my heart.

There's so much footage to save today.

(Lively atmosphere)

(Today's show will be a treat for the eyes and ears)

We'll start "Star Golden Bell" now.

("Star Golden Bell")

We have some amazing guests today.

You're hosting from the back, Seokjin.

How do the back of their heads look?

I haven't seen the back of 20 heads in a while.

That spot is a seat for KBS' top reporters.

Noh Hyeonjeong and Park Jiyoon among others...

Are you okay there, Hyunkyung?

It means that I'm big now too.

- I'll try my best. / - She's pretty good.

She's very spirited today.

Hyunkyung, you've become very cheeky.

I can't believe she said that herself.

I'm sorry but hearing you from both ends

feels like I'm sitting in a cave.

I hear an echo.

Just talk from the front or from the back.

We'll introduce our guests through questions.

First let's meet Park Jungyu.

("Double Knives" Park Jungyu)

Jungyu, I hear you have a new hobby.

You enjoy nail art.

I was bored and went with my wife once.

They did my nails too.

Honestly, I love how shiny they make my nails.

He really got them done.

You can all do this at home.

So he's into nail art.

File away the rough parts.

After 2 times, 3 times, 4 times...

- Wow... / - Not even girls do that much.

Once you file the 6th time, they become shiny.

You have to file your nails how many times?

The 6th time is the last time.

You apply a polish.

Us guys can't breathe because of that nail polish.

Not for the stuff I use. I touch them and do this.

For real.

(He's so adorable)

Such a cute guy.

He does a lot of action scenes.

I bet you get sad when you crack a nail.

I used to do all my own action scenes

but now I have stunt doubles.

I just do a side kick, the double does the rest

and then I strike a pose.

(The face of an action star)

- That's all I have to do. / - So funny...

The scene starts

and the double does everything. We just pose.

You're such a good fighter in your dramas.

We have Lee Elijah with us too.

Nice to meet you!

She's very hot these days.

The drama "Fight for My Way" was a huge hit.

Perhaps because of the role you played...

This is a bit unique. You're like rat poison?

The role I played was

the male lead Dongman's first love.

I kept getting rejected and kept showing up again.

(Dongman)

I broke up with him.

(She's like rat poison?)

So that's why you're like rat poison.

And in the end she became a girl

you'd want to feed rat poison to.

That's probably why I got that nickname.

They want to feed you rat poison?

It's a line in the script.

So it's a line in the drama.

Hyeran was like rat poison to Dongman.

And we wanted to feed her rat poison.

That's scary. Wanting to feed you rat poison...

I played a villain.

You have a kind face but you played a villain?

You were in that drama with Park Seojun. Right?

Yes.

You had a kissing scene with him.

I saw that too.

You were really good in that kissing scene.

(This kissing scene was quite the hot topic!)

It was supposed to be a peck but it became a kiss.

That's right.

It says we kiss in the script.

I just went by the script.

Pardon?

Who kissed who first?

Lizzy.

Who kissed who first?

Lizzy, you've kept quiet for other people.

I was curious. She said she did her best.

When it says in the script

that two people have to kiss,

they're not supposed to be steamy.

It can say a passionate kiss, a deep kiss,

a long kiss, a plain kiss... It says in the script.

I don't think I've seen you in a kissing scene.

For you it's a deep stab, a hard stab...

(Stab! Deep stab! Hard stab! / Source: MBC)

Good one.

There are war scenes when I do historical dramas.

When it says "an intense battle takes place"

we shoot that for 3 days.

It's an intense battle.

But the fact that it just said kiss in the script

but she took it that far.

Why'd you do that?

There were a lot of outtakes.

If you go a bit too heavy

in a kissing scene, that could cause outtakes.

There were a lot of outtakes.

That was my first kissing scene in a drama.

- I got so nervous. / - Was that your first time?

- Yes. my first. / - And it was with Park Seojun.

Is that a famous kissing scene?

It's very famous.

I think it became more of an issue

since the girl went for it first.

- She took charge of the guy. / - It looked cool.

The character was honest with her feelings.

I just tried my best to play that role.

It's great when the girl takes charge.

We've been talking about kissing for 10 minutes.

We're all so focused.

- We got so drawn in. / - This is nice.

Elijah, you have a very unique name.

Thank you.

- And it's your real name? / - Yes, it is.

Elijah.

We also have Samuel here.

- Is that your real name? / - Yes, it is.

- So Samuel's your real name too. / - Yes.

Samuel is the youngest person here today.

Born in 2002.

The year of the 2002 World Cup.

2002.

We'll get back to you in a bit. Just wait.

Wait a bit.

(We have many guests today)

Just wanted to talk about the names.

Taemin is still waiting too.

We have many k-pop idols today.

We have the original k-pop idol Heejin.

It's Heejin of Baby VOX!

Hello.

In our day it was all about Baby VOX.

Heejin is very popular these days.

She was in "Woman of Dignity."

A wildly popular drama.

Do you feel more famous now?

I'm getting casting calls from variety shows,

talk shows and calls for an interview.

The drama really had a strong impact which was why

I was brought into the spotlight. (Source: JTBC)

Honestly, Kim Heeseon is just killing it in everything

from dramas to variety shows. I feel like I was in

an amazing drama with her. (Source: JTBC)

Dahye, people hated you for playing an adulterer.

Really?

I'll live longer from all the badmouthing.

I've never played such a hated character.

I usually played the immature youngest daughter,

or the easy-going tomboy.

But this character is someone you just want to cuss at.

I was shocked when I first read the comments.

What did they say about you from online?

That I look like a catfish with a big mouth.

Dahye, you're beautiful.

People end up hating the person due to the role.

Since the drama was intense.

And her acting was great.

It was hurtful to read those words directed at me.

While watching the drama at home I say,

"She really does deserve all the hate."

That shows that your acting was good.

Your acting was great.

The pasta fight was quite a big issue.

That scene had the highest viewer ratings.

It was a pasta slap.

I got hit with pasta.

It was carbonara.

(Sad)

The actress Yu Seojin is in the drama.

Her character has conflicts with Dahye's character.

Dahye has an affair...

With her husband. (Source: JTBC)

And she finds out.

At first she grabs a knife

and says the line, "Can this kill someone?"

Later on, she pulls my hair over 100 times.

In the scene, my head jerks back. (Source: JTBC)

What was funny was when I stood up...

I'm on the tall side.

So I suddenly looked like a giant. (Source: JTBC)

Then she slaps me and I hit her back.

She goes flying 3 steps back.

Really?

She's so powerful.

I heard you dislocated your jaw. Is that true?

My line was,

He said he wanted to be a man." And pow!

I barely finished the line and my mouth was still open.

That's when she hit me.

That would dislocate your jaw.

I got hit with my mouth open.

(An amazing scene made with incredible passion)

I got hit here but it hurt here.

I dislocated my jaw.

I tried to open my mouth to eat breakfast and...

(Pain)

That was really...

That sound wasn't put in post-production.

The sound of that slap was real.

(Totally real)

I was on set so I saw how real it was.

That was the first scene of the day.

We met at around 7 or 8 a.m. and rehearsed.

We all wanted to get it done in one take.

Seojin hit Dahye like pow

and the timing was unexpected.

Then Dahye hit her back like smack

and the timing was unexpected.

Pow and smack.

And we were so happy when that scene

got over 1 million views.

(The pasta fight got over 1 million views!)

- The pasta slap? / - Yes.

We'll go to Saeho next as he introduces his team.

Obama Was Caught Meeting Wite The Russian Lawyer Who Was Actualy A Spy, Look Who She Worked FOr - Duration: 14:21.

Obama Was Caught Meeting Wite The Russian Lawyer Who Was Actualy A Spy, Look Who She

Worked For

The left went crazy over the recent story about Trump Jr. meeting with the Russian lawyer

who claimed to have dirt on Hillary Clinton.

And now, a shocking new discovery has emerged, Barack Obama and his administration secretly

met with Natalia Veselnitskaya, the Russian lawyer who is really a spy, but it's who

she worked for that actually makes Barack look guilty.

Everything is coming out now, how Obama and his administration colluded with Hillary Clinton

and the Democratic National Committee (DNC) to set up the fake Russian narrative against

Donald Trump.

It turns out that Natalia Veselnitskaya, the Russian lawyer, in fact, is a spy who was

working for the Democrats, and there is more.

Natalia Was Obama personal guest, at the House of Representatives hearing on U.S. Policy

toward Putin's Russia.

Ms. Natalia Veselnitskaya is captured seated in the front row right behind former U.S.

Ambassador to Russia Mr. Michael McFaul at the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

This is June 14th, 2016.

This picture is taken only five days after her meeting at Trump Tower with Donald Trump

Jr.

It should be pointed out that Ambassador McFaul publicly discussed the 'Muh Russia' conspiracy

story in the media and was broadcasted on several NBC and MSNBC shows during the 2016

campaign, and after the election.

And It should also be pointed out that Ms. Natalia Veselnitskaya was initially denied

an entry visa into the United States in 2016 and she appealed her situation to the U.S.

District Court of New York.

She later received a parole letter, allowing her to enter the United States on behalf of

a client.

It seems that Obama and Hillary actually wanted Natalia to enter the country.

In her affidavit to enter the U.S., Natalia Veselnitskaya acknowledges that she is working

for a company called Fusion GPS, A firm which according to public reports, was retained

by Democratic operatives to develop opposition research on the President and which commissioned

the phony Steele dossier

Please share this post on Facebook if you think Obama and Hillary should go to prison.

Qarth, Greatest City That Ever Was and Will Be, Great Moraq and Isles | Essos and Beyond - Duration: 12:17.

Despite their long history, little can be said with any certainty of the Qaathi - a

people now gone from the world save for a remnant in Qarth.

What is known is that Qaathi arose in the grasslands, and came into conflict with Sarnori.

Since they kept losing wars with the Tall Men of Sarnor, they began to drift farther

south, creating new city states on their way.

Their farthest city was founded on the coast of the Summer Sea.

Through time the northern lands of the Qaathi turned into the red waste, however, and their

civilization declined.

The Qaathi were on their way to collapse, when the Doom struck, but what could have

become their opportunity for the expanse of their power because of the chaos that arose

on the continent, became their worst nightmare when the Dothraki attacked, destroying all

the remaining Qaathi cities save for Qarth itself.

Qarth remained untouched mostly because of its famous three walls of thirty, forty, and

fifty feet in height, respectively engraved with portraits of animals, war, and lovemaking.

The triple walls of Qarth is one of the nine wonders made by man according to the famous

traveler Lomas Longstrider.

Qaathi were on the brink of the extinction, yet, in a way, the destruction that Dothraki

brought with them led to a resurgence of Qaathi.

Forced to look to the sea, the Pureborn who ruled Qarth swiftly constructed a fleet and

took control of the Jade Gates, the strait between Qarth and Great Moraq.

With the Valyrian fleet destroyed and Volantis focused on conquering the Free Cities of western

Essos, no one opposed the Qartheen as they established their control over the most direct

route between west and east, thus gaining immense wealth on both trade and levied tolls.

Qartheen are a tall and pale people, called Milk Men by the Dothraki for their complexion.

They did not rebuild their destroyed cities through time.

Instead, they began to call those ruins by their Dothraki names: Vaes Orvik, City of

the Whip, Vaes Qosar, City of Spiders, and Vaes Shirosi, City of Scorpions.

While Qarth depends upon its slaves, khalasars never cross the Red Waste to sell their slaves

at Qarth.

The Qartheen do not want them to do so, either.

The Qartheen have been known to bar entry to the city to those who do not meet their

approval.

Due to Qarth's isolation behind the Red Waste, being denied entry will often spell doom for

travelers, and their bones can be found extending around its walls.

This area is sometimes called the "Garden of Bones".

Qarth is a city of merchants and because of its location it began to be seen as a gateway

of commerce and culture between the east and west, and the north and south.

From Qarth, four main travel routes originate.

The western route leads to the city Qarkash, also controlled by the Qartheens.

Though Port Yhos is not linked to the road, it is also under the control of Qarth.

The northwestern route leads to Vaes Qosar . While the eastern road leads to Asabhad,

controlled by the Great Fathers of once notorious Patrimony of Hyrkoon.

The fourth route, the Sand Road, leads through the southern Bone Mountains, eventually passing

Bayasabhad, also controlled by the Great Fathers, leading to the market city Tiqui, belonging

to Yi Ti.

Qal island is under control of the Qartheen and is fortified on both ends with their harbor

cities.

Qarth's port is one of the greatest in the world.

Shaped like an enormous horseshoe, the harbor extends for several miles and is packed with

activity.

Numerous brothels.

gaming dens, warehouses and winesinks line the streets, along with temples devoted to

exotic gods.

The whole area functions as a massive marketplace, where goods can be purchased for a fraction

of what they would cost at a bazaar in the city itself for as long as the buyer asks

no questions about the item's origin.

The various trade guilds of Qarth each have their areas of the harbor.

The far end of it is where ships from Westeros, the Summer Islands and the Free Cities are

permitted to land.

Trade goods from Qarth include saffron, dreamwine and liquor, silk, spices, and elephants.

Qartheen spice ships can be as big as palaces and can travel as far as Braavos to trade.

Back in the days of rule of Jaehaerys First in Seven Kingdoms, in the last of his nine

voyages aboard the Sea Snake, Corlys Velaryon brought a shipload of gold to Qarth, where

he purchased twenty more ships.

Filled with spices, elephants, and silk, most of the ships returned to Westeros.

Corlys thus became for a while the wealthiest men in the Seven Kingdoms.

Qartheen adventurers search for gold, gems, and ivory along the eastern coasts of Sothoryos,

hungry to make a profit.

However, they have never been able to reach the southern end of Sothoryos, or just considered

it to be too dangerous, after evaluating the risks of such journey.

Qarth's buildings are painted in rich shades of rose, umber, and violet, and seem to shimmer

as if in a dream.

Fountains carved in the shape of fantastic beasts can be seen in every open square.

There is a great covered passage where the heroes of the city stand atop columns of green

and white marble.

A cavernous building is home to a bazaar.

A thousand gaily colored birds live on the ceiling of the building, and on the terraced

walls above stalls, bloom trees and flowers beyond count.

Other locations in Qarth include the Temple of Memory, where traditional sacrifices are

made, the Garden of Gehane, and Warlock's Way, a street, where houses have no windows.

Status is quite important among the Qartheen, and they tend to be very concerned about appearances.

Qartheen women wear gowns which leave one breast exposed and sometimes dye their hair

to appear more exotic.

Meanwhile, men favor beaded silk skirts and vests which are covered in extravagant gold

tracing and jewelry on the front.

Both men and women decorate their clothing with gold pieces shaped like insects and encrusted

with jewels.

Qartheen seat themselves on cushions on the floor, and wealthier citizens sometimes decorate

their noses with jewels.

Warriors of Qarth wear scaled, copper armor and snouted-helms with copper tusks and long,

black silk plumes.

Camel riders sit high on saddles inlaid with rubies and garnets.

Their camels are dressed in blankets of a hundred different hues.

Children might go about naked, wearing only golden sandals and body paint.

Qartheen men and women retain their possessions after marriage.

However, there is a marriage custom where, on the day of the wedding, the groom may ask

for any one item from his bride's possessions and the bride may ask for any one item of

the groom's possessions.

Whatever is asked by either cannot be denied.

This is seen as a gift of devotion by the bride and groom to each other.

Qartheen men are known to weep in times of strong emotion, as it is considered to be

a mark of civilization, and Qartheen politeness goes as far as having the assassins known

as the Sorrowful Men say "I'm so sorry" to their victim before killing them.

Qarth is nominally ruled by the Pureborn, who are seated in the Hall of a Thousand Thrones.

They deal with all matters of civic importance, commanding the Civic Guard and the fleet of

ornate war galleys which rule the straits between the seas.

However, the powerful guilds of the Thirteen, the Tourmaline Brotherhood, and the Ancient

Guild of Spicers all contend endlessly with the Pureborn.

Meanwhile, the warlocks of Qarth broom over them all.

The Pureborn, also known as the Enthroned, are descendants of the Qarth's ancient kings

and queens.

They are calculating and are known for offering poisoned wine to those they consider dangerous,

and their greed is equally well-known.

To receive an audience with the Pureborn, a petitioner should make a traditional sacrifice

in the Temple of Memory, offer a traditional bribe to the Keeper of the Long List, and

send a traditional persimmon to the Opener of the Door.

If all goes well, the petitioner will be sent a pair of blue slippers, signifying the granting

of an audience in the Hall of a Thousand Thrones.

The Pureborn are enthroned on great wooden chairs of their ancestors.

The unique chairs are immense, fantastically carved, bright with gold work, and studded

with various precious stones, as each Pureborn wants his chair to be the most fabulous.

Warlocks are magic practitioners of Essos.

Their center of power is the House of the Undying, home to the Undying Ones of Qarth,

also known as the Palace of Dust, a long and low building without towers or windows, coiling

like a stone serpent through a grove of black-barked trees.

The buildings roof is made of black tiles, of which many are fallen or broken.

The warlocks of Qarth are feared and respected throughout the East, and are also well represented

in Asshai by the Shadow.

Yet, the warlocks' power and prestige have waned over the years.

Most warlocks have blue lips from drinking shade of the evening.

It is made from the inky blue leaves that grow on the black-barked trees found around

the House of the Undying.

It has an unappetizing smell and initial taste, having been compared to ink, spoiled meat,

and rotten flesh, but upon swallowing tastes like all things its imbiber has ever tasted,

and more.

House of the Undying houses the Undying Ones, also known as the Undying of Qarth, the most

mysterious of all warlocks.

A saying in Qarth is "A warlock's house is built of bones and lies."

The Undying Ones are the conclave of ancient warlocks of Qarth and the elite of their order.

They dwell in a chamber somewhere deep within the House of the Undying.

The Qartheen like to call their city "the Greatest City that Ever Was or Will Be".

An easy claim to make if one knows only the docks and custom houses of other cities.

There are many islands south of Qarth, in the waters of the Summer Sea, that are linked

with Qarth through trade, but are not controlled by the Qartheen.

Great Moraq is the largest island in the known world.

Because of the prevailing winds, the eastern shore of Great Moraq is lightly settled and

rarely visited.

The northern half of Great Moraq is a mixture of plains, hills, and small forests, while

the southern half of the island is densely forested.

The city of Faros is situated at the mouth of a river on the northern stretch of its

western coast.

The inhabitants of Faros worship the Stone Cow.

There is a saying among the Qartheen: "It is easier to milk the Stone Cow of Faros than

to wring gold from the Pureborn."

At the southern point of Great Moraq is the city of Port Moraq.

Vahar is a city on an island of the same name that has become wealthy from the spice trade.

The Isle of Whips is a small, isolated island in the Jade Sea, largely barren and named

for its role as a way station for slavers.

The city of Zabhad is located on the northern shore of the Isle of Elephants and is the

only known settlement on the island.

According to records set down by Corlys Velaryon in his letters, the Isle of Elephants is ruled

by a shan, who rules from a palace made of ivory.

The Qartheen do enjoy their elaborated appearances; however, it is not only a matter of status

among the Qartheen, but also of survival: showing off is a sign of strength among descendants

of Qaathi, and as long as they can appear wealthy before the eyes of the other, they

are perceived as powerful as well.

Any failure to keep up appearances and the men is gone.

Deserts make minds see mirages, and Red Waste is a great desert indeed, but one must keep

his vision clear in case he wants to survive in these lands.

Thank You for watching!

See Ya!

What is Trek's Stranglehold Dropout? - Duration: 1:37.

Stranglehold is Trek's exclusive horizontal sliding dropout system that provides 15mm of chainstay length adjustment.

It lets you convert your geared bike to single-speed,

or alter your chainstay length to dial in the ride characteristics you want.

15mm may not seem like a lot, but it can have a big impact in how your bike feels.

It can make your trail bike feel more like a dirt jumper or your cyclocross race bike ride like a stable touring bike.

Stranglehold's forward-most setting will shorten chainstays for a snappier handling and a more playful ride.

Perfect for popping off jumps or handling quick corners.

Or, slide the dropouts all the way back to lengthen the chainstays for added stability and comfort.

Great for all day adventures, touring, or loose terrain.

Longer chainstay length also makes room for higher-volume tires.

Stranglehold uses a thru axle with oversized axle nuts that pinch the dropout.

A redundant bolt and nut system ensure everything stays locked in place.

The result is a system that doesn't slip, even under the harshest pedal loads.

When adjusting the wheel forward or back, the brake caliper moves along with the rest of the system.

So your hardware and your rotor caliper stay perfectly aligned.

Long and stable, short and whippy, geared or single-speed; Stranglehold lets you decide.

Antoine Griezmann's former agent confirms Man Utd transfer was going to happen this summer - Duration: 2:04.

Antoine Griezmann's former agent confirms Man Utd transfer was going to happen this summer

The Atletico Madrid star seemed destined to swap La Liga for the Premier League with the Red Devils keen to trigger his release clause.

The Independent say personal terms were agreed but the deal was scuppered once Atletis transfer ban was upheld. It prevented them from registering players until January 1 2018 and Griezmann felt he couldn't leave his club in the lurch.

Shortly after it was confirmed the ban would be upheld, Griezmann confirmed he was staying and signed a new contract.

And Olhats has confirmed he would have left Madrid if the ban had been lifted. He said: Griezmann didnt feel able to leave Atletico.

Hes been integral to them and has shown his commitment to the club at a time when they couldnt sign players.

"Without the Fifa sanctions he would have gone. Griezmann could still make the move next summer with his release clause still set at €100m.

United were prepared to pay that summer but with the Pound falling against the Euro the deal is becoming more and more expensive every day. Thats the end of our news for today.

Why XXXTentacion's IG Stunt Was So Dangerous - Duration: 3:10.

What's up guys?!

Beija here for Complex.

Last week, XXXTENTACION posted a controversial video on Instagram that appeared to show him

hanging himself.

The original IG post lacked a caption explaining what exactly viewers were watching and after

several hours passed without a statement from him or a rep, many fans began speculating

that the video was real.

X eventually came out and said the scene was from an upcoming music video.

The video surfaced on the Internet hours prior to the release of his debut album and fans

were very upset assuming that X was pulling a publicity stunt to get more people to tune

in for '17'.

The South Florida rapper was outraged that people would even think that he would do such

a thing and he wrote in an Instagram post: "If you thought I would 'pretend' to

kill myself for a publicity stunt you're fucking stupid."

The "Look At Me" artist is known for his heavy influence on his "cult" fanbase

and even though these may not be his intentions, his actions could potentially put hardcore

fans in danger of following his footsteps…in real life.

Dr. Julie Cerel is a professor at the University of Kentucky and is the President of the American

Academy of Suicidology.

She told Complex that the phenomenon of copycat suicides is "something that we're concerned

about".

"There's lots of evidence that irresponsible reporting, including in the entertainment

industry, that is specific about method, and is someone that people look up to, increases

the risk in people that are already vulnerable."

Dr. Cerel provided a reference from a recent study from the Netflix show 13 Reasons Why

where the fictional series, deals with a teenager's suicide.

In the weeks after the show premiered, the study found that Google searches for phrases

like "how to commit suicide", "commit suicide", and "how to kill yourself"

increased dramatically—by 26, 18, and 9 percent, respectively—compared to control

weeks.

The study didn't track whether actual suicides took place along with the searches, but previous

studies have proven a connection between the two.

XXXTENTACION's graphic depictions of suicide and other celebrities with committed fan bases

hold the power to possibly trigger copycats.

Dr. Cerel told Complex:

"Across time, there's been lots of examples of people who died by suicide [and] showed

it in really graphic ways, and there were spikes in people who were fans, or who looked

up to them or idolized them."

Luckily, there have been no reported cases that have emerged since X's IG video, but

many fans took to Twitter talking about taking their own lives and not liking the fact that

it seemed that the rapper was "romanticizing suicide".

According to Ohio's Mental Health and Addiction Services agency:

"[D]eaths of celebrities have the strong potential to contribute to suicide contagion due to...

the likelihood that the public feels they can identify with such well-known individuals."

Presumably, X takes the situation very seriously since he's had to endure the pain of losing

a friend to suicide.

Celebrities have a very heavy responsibility in our society, and if another artist in the

future wants to take a more "dark approach" visually, hopefully there will be more clarity

and a straightforward statement to not leave people questioning.

If you're battling with suicidal thoughts, talk to somebody.

Meditate and take the time to be present with yourself and know that pain is temporary and

you can overcome anything.

You can call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255 or can connect

to the Lifeline Crisis Chat at crisischat.org.

That's all the news for now, but for more, be sure to subscribe to Complex on Youtube

today.

Melania Trump may have changed her shoes, but it was still just a fashion moment - Duration: 2:26.

Melania Trump is the kind of woman who travels to a flood-ravaged state in a pair of black

snakeskin stilettos.

Heels this high are not practical.

But Trump is not the kind of woman who has to be practical.

Heels this high are not comfortable.

Comfort is not the point.

Neither hers, nor yours.

Trump is the kind of woman who knows that when she walks from the White House to Marine

One there will be photographers.

On the morning she traveled to Texas, that meant stilettos with a pair of cropped black

trousers and an Army-green bomber jacket.

And she looked great.

It's an image that would have been at home in any fashion magazine.

But it was also an image that suggested that Trump is the kind of woman who refuses to

pretend that her feet will, at any point, ever be immersed in cold, bacteria-infested

Texas water.

She is the kind of woman who may listen empathetically to your pain, but she knows that you know

that she is not going to experience it.

So why pretend?

Well, sometimes pretense is everything.

It's the reason for the first lady to go to Texas at all: To symbolize care and concern

and camaraderie.

And for her trip to Texas, the first lady offered up a fashion moment instead of an

expression of empathy.

Observers were baffled by her shoes in particular.

It's not the brand or the cost that matter: It's the heels.

She defies gravity in them.

She floats above it all.

Her ensemble implied that people's personal stories would be ferried to her after they

had been vetted and tidied up.

There was no suggestion that Trump would be flat-footed in the muck, hearing their truth

in tearful confusion.

By the time she landed in Texas she had changed.

She was wearing sneakers.

She also was wearing a black baseball cap that said "FLOTUS," a defense against

any possibility that for just a split second she might seem regular.

She is not like you, or you, or you, it says.

She is the first lady.

Still, her Corpus Christi ensemble was more akin to what one might have expected her to

wear for the Hurricane Harvey briefing.

It was in sync with the president's khakis and boots.

It was optically optimal.

But the chance to tell an uninterrupted narrative of care and concern had already been missed.

This was just a costume change for another fashion moment.
