What I've Learned About Myself after Losing 145LBS - Duration: 4:26.

Hey everybody and welcome to the video.

In this week's episode, we get right into it.

So I talk a lot on this channel about how my life has changed for the better since losing

weight.

How different things are and how much happier I am, all of that sort of stuff.

Well I've been feeling like there's something I should clarify when I talk about all of

those things.

Losing weight by itself isn't going to solve all your problems or the struggles that you

have in your life.

All of these changes and realizations and everything that I've made over the years.

When you lose weight there's a level of self awareness that comes along with it.

You're forcing so much discomfort wether it be mental or physical, you're dredging up

all of these problems in your head with the weight and it kind of forces you to solve

them and forces you to face them.

Simply being smaller or simply reaching your goal weight isn't going to fix those things.

But for me it kind of started a journey of personal growth and self awareness and just

made me face all of these things that I was insecure about for so long.

The big thing that did happen, that I learned when I lost weight.

It feels incredible to follow through on your dreams and it helped me realize that I can

make those things a reality if I want and if I put in the work.

None of this stuff happens on its own but I let that good feeling of accomplishment

from weight loss spill over into every aspect of my life.

Now compared to back then when I have goals I know if I allow myself to put in the time

and the effort, I know I can do it and that's not something I ever felt with such passion

beforehand.

Reaching that goal just gave me the confidence and the self assurance to know I can reach

any goal I want if I'm willing to put in that work.

In the land of social media and the land of I wish or I wish I could do that or have that

or be like that person, it doesn't just happen.

For anybody.

You can reach your goals too.

So that's the biggest lesson I've learned with all of this.

I'm capable of achieving whatever I put my mind to and put the work into.

But just know if you put in that work and that time and that effort it pays off and

it feels great.

What doesn't feel great is continuing to hide behind all of your insecurities and problems

and excuses.

That was a big part of weight loss with what I struggled with, what a lot of people struggle

with.

It's easy to keep being fat and there's some sick part in our brains in those stages that

almost wants us to fail because it's the easy option and it's the one you don't have to

think about, worry about, do, it's complacency.

So just keep that in mind as you're going through this journey.

Don't be complacent.

Don't let that back part of your head let you give up and go back to routine and business

as usual.

Self awareness and personal growth and mental growth is the biggest factor in succeeding

in your weight loss.

Once you allow yourself to make those observations about how you act in situations and learn

how to adapt and change and pivot.

To correct those actions and do what you want to do to reach your goals.

It all gets easier.

But that is it for the formal topic, I wanted to jump straight into it before getting into

the week updates.

I think I'll probably just leave it at that, I'm going to save the details about the San

Francisco trip for next week, and the video from the trip to Bend is coming.

I've been falling behind on my edits.

What People Are Saying About "From the Ashes": A New Documentary on Coal - Duration: 1:55.

We're gonna see an amazing film tonight.

It needs to be told all over the country

that you can succeed and be committed to an environment.

Watching the lives of the people who are so strongly

impacted by the loss of the coal industry,

I think that's a story we don't tell enough.

This is a battle on which we need to be relentless.

Now's a good time to do something about it

because there are alternatives.

As a human being, as a citizen of the world,

I think it affects all of us no matter where we are.

Coal is an issue that was massive in the campaign

and it's a very, very complicated issue.

We're so excited that we're using film

to tell a very important story about the work

that Bloomberg philanthropies has been doing.

It really presented the human aspect.

Well-meaning people who just want jobs.

But we've gotta find some ways to pull together

and to train them to fit into jobs that are available.

I don't know if there's been a more exciting time

to be paying attention to how we make our electricity

in this country since the Industrial Revolution.

This film really does a great job

of putting the human cost of coal in perspective.

It dives deep.

This film did a really great job

of making it an American issue, a people issue.

It was a very powerful look at coal.

It really resonated with me.

I thought it was a phenomenal film.

I thought it was really inspiring.

Being somebody who's going to grow into this future,

it's very scary, but I like that they offered solutions.

It's a choice.

I'm choosing to make things better for my son.

It galvanized me.

Let's go out and really try and make sure people know

they have that choice, and make the right choice.

And it made me want to get involved.

The EU started out as a trading bloc

We've made upgrades to the Web of Science interface that make it easier to navigate

between databases, and choose your search options.

The most popular search options in the Web of Science Core Collection are now front and

center, giving you quicker access to the tools you need.

Click the More option to see additional ways to search.

You'll also find improvements to the way you manage your search results.

Using the new Fast 5K option, quickly export up to 5,000 records.

You'll need to be signed in to your Web of Science profile to take advantage of this

option.

Article data downloads into tab-delimited text format for use in documents and spreadsheets.

Changes to the refine panel bring key options to the top for quick access.

Refine by Highly Cited and Hot Papers, for example.

If you need more details on Hot and Highly cited definitions, click the icon on any article.

Refine options have been reordered, bringing the most popular options to the top.

But at the bottom of the panel, you can View all available options by clicking here.

We've added a new option for refining by Web of Science Core Collection index, so you

focus on the broad groupings of content you need.

And each record clearly displays the index name.

There are improvements to the Marked List.

Additional fields are now available for export.

[Know your Quran] Chapter 30 - What is evil - Duration: 12:22.

We are on the final part of the Quran but before going on to

the explanation of certain themes within the final part one thing that appears in

the twenty ninth part which is then again repeated before it, is that Nabi Nuh

saying to Allah O Lord destroy all the disbelievers because if you were to

leave them they will not produce or beget or give birth to anyone but

tyrannical oppressive people Now here Nabi Nuh in his human-nes is

impricating his people but at the same time he is saying something which is an

existential feature of this world that destroyed them now because no good is

going to come from them similarly we find in another place that Allah says to Nabi Nuh

Now build an ark no one after this will take faith in you which

resonates with the story of the coming of the Mahdi (AS)

We are told that he will come when there are there are two distinct groups within

humanity and they are quite separate those who believe or have the

inclination towards belief and goodness and reform and those who are set in

their disbelief or inhumane attributes and that is when Mahdi will come and

that is when the decisive judgment of God will come and this has historical

precedence at least in the case of the Nabi Nuh that when no further good souls

are going to take birth from a community then Allah's chastisement swiftly comes

and overtakes them in the thirteenth chapter the focus is on Qiyama and

whatever will happen on Qiyama Two things stand out and this is the great

thump that will occur upon the earth which will then cause the earth to shake

violently through which the mountains shall crumble and human beings shall

appear like scattered moths that are colliding into everything in

their path the other thing that comes through these

verses is the whole of this issue of everything being recorded by scribes and

that on the day of Qiyama and this has been repeated three to four times in

these Suras within the 30th part that every soul

will know what it has done

Whatever they have sent forward and whatever they have retained that every soul finally will

see what they have done this brings the meaning that we have certainly made a

pact with Allah (SWT) that we are on a particular task we have

come with a particular task into this earth and on the day of Qiyama we will

finally awaken and we will see how we have performed Allah also says on that

day man shall remember but on that day the recollection of what life was all

about will be to no avail and at that point there will be nothing

but huge and great regret this is a theme that is continued for the major

part of this for the major part of the 30th part of the Quran we come to the

final two chapters Sura Falaq & Sura Nas

Now people often miss read the

verses when we read the verse

مِن شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ from the evil of what He has created

We normally intend to say in our minds

that O Allah you have created evil and I seek refuge in you from those evils but

that is not what the verse is saying from the evil

of what He has created Allah has created nothing but good but in our human

interaction with it results in evil the volcanic

eruptions the earthquakes the tsunamis these are all natural workings of the

mother earth but in relation to human beings when human beings are affected by

them and they are destroyed it is known as an evil of what God has created not

the evil that God has created here if we can look at these natural evils and

interact with it in a different way then it would not even be considered as

evil if we could take a philosophical approach or even a mystical approach and

say that actually as we are growing so is the earth growing and in the process

of the growth of the earth humankind is growing and even if I am affected by it

eventually the whole of humanity is growing through it and in turn with

humanity so am I and that too then would not be seen as evil if the interaction

is accurate with this situation similarly Allah (SWT) has created

within us the instinct to survive this survival instinct if not understood

accurately can result in the destruction of others in a variety of ways in

cheating others of their wealth or of their lives and this again is evil but

the survival instinct is good in itself it is most needed to ensure the

existence of mankind but if misplaced it results in evil now

the evil here is within the agent who takes the life of another

fearing the loss of his own life or the wealth of another in greed that is evil

not relying on Allah and this evil is caused by our material constitution not

by our spirit which is from God neither by our souls which are mere

awakening and they are being called towards God but a misplaced

understanding of survival and that's how matter prevails over our

judgment and we begin to tarnish our souls but in essence it is not evil and

the whole of the system is good in its entirety with the human flaws that are

within it in any case these sort of verses require us to reflect deeply within their content
