RAFAŁ BOCHENEK, SPOKESMAN FOR THE GOVERNMENT: Good morning, ladies and gentlemen.

Welcome to the press conference following the end of the European Council summit.

I would like to cordially welcome Prime Minister, Mrs Beata Szydło,

as well as Deputy Foreign Minister, Mr Konrad Szymański.

I would like to invite Mrs Prime Minister to speak.

PRIME MINISTER BEATA SZYDŁO: Good morning.

Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to tell you briefly what decisions

have been taken today by the European Council, at the second day of the summit.

First of all, we have been discussing the common market issues.

And migration issues.

I believe that these are the most important topics, that will be interesting also for you.

As for the current common market policy, trade policy,

Poland supports sustainable trade policy.

Policy that is open but respects our regulatory system and high standards.

In particular in agricultural food production.

In the debate on the common market, I have underlined benefits

enjoyed by all the European Union countries,

also those that today question the single market and suggest protectionism.

I have emphasised that Poland will firmly oppose protectionist measures.

I encouraged the European Commission to promote the single market idea more actively.

At this point, I have also indicated

the need for an ambitious mandate concerning the Nord Stream 2.

I have considered this to be a good moment to underline the issue of this investment.

The European Commission should have a strong mandate,

and the European Council should know the extent of such a mandate.

Moreover, such a mandate should ensure that the EU legislation is complied with in this investment.

This is our goal and I have emphasised this in my address.

In the second part of today's debate we have talked about the migration policy.

Poland has strongly supported measures

aimed at strengthening the protection of the Libyan border.

As regards the asylum policy, the European Council has agreed with the Polish postulate,

that has been submitted by us, to introduce changes

in the proposals submitted thus far, and to reach an agreement.

Upon my request, the European Council will go back to this issue soon.

And the position of our government is obviously clear, as pointed out before,

and maintained currently: Poland will not support

mechanisms of "automatic" allocation of refugees,

with the exclusion of national competencies in refugee policy.

We believe that migration policy must be pragmatic and effective.

This has also been voiced by many of my colleagues today.

We are looking for solutions to solve the migration crisis;

the European Council will continue,

as I have already underlined, to discuss the issue – at Poland's request.

Thank you very much.

BREAKING Church of England Admits it 'Colluded' to Cover Up - politics - Duration: 5:39.

BREAKING: Church of England Admits it Colluded to Cover-Up Decades of Child Rape

London In one of the most damning admissions to date by the Church of England, the head

of the church admitted they colluded with and helped to hide the long-term sexual

abuse of children and young men.

On Thursday, Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby apologized to the victims who spoke

out and helped bring their attacker to justice.

However, according to the report on how the church handled the case, as well as the slap

on the wrist ex-bishop Peter Ball received for decades of abuse, justice is a loosely

thrown around term.

According to the AP, Welby ordered the report after Ball was convicted and imprisoned in

2015 for misconduct in public office and indecent assaults against teenagers and young men over

a period of 20 years.

Despite admitting to sexually abusing 18 people, this serial child rapist was let out of prison

after only serving 16 months.

Welbys report noted that Balls conduct caused serious and enduring damage to the

lives of many men, and that the church at its most senior levels and over many years

supported him unwisely.

After admitting that the church not only looked the other way for decades, the report also

concedes that they helped to hide the abuse.

The church colluded and concealed rather than seeking to help those who were brave

enough to come forward, Welby said.

This is inexcusable and shocking behavior, he said, according to the AP, adding that

while most of what happened took place years ago, we can never be complacent, we must

learn lessons.

The roots of the Church of England go back to the time of the Roman Empire when Christianity

entered the Roman province of Britain.

The Church of England is the official state church of Britain whose most senior cleric

is Welby.

However, the supreme governor of the church is the Queen herself.

As the monarch is the supreme governor, it can be assumed that it took part in the cover

up as well.

Until Welby became the Archbishop of Canterbury, the church has had a long and sordid history

of silencing those who claimed they were abused by its members.

? Independent investigators have been examining

files as far back as the 1950s and Welby hopes this independence will prevent any possibility

of more cover-ups.

We will systematically bring those transparently and openly first of all working with the survivors

where they are still alive and then seeing what they want, Welby said.

The rule is survivors come first, not our own interests, and however important the person

was, however distinguished, however well-known, survivors come first.

In spite of Welbys intentions, Keith Porteous Wood of the National Secular Society noted

that it doesnt go far enough, especially given the churchs influence over the police

and Child Protective Services.

As the Free Thought Project has pointed out on multiple occasions, pedophilia among the

elite and clergy is rampant.

The problem has gotten so bad in England that officials issued an order earlier this year

to stop naming streets and landmarks after local heroes and politicians because they

could later be exposed as pedophiles.

In February, the Free Thought Project reported on the fact that the police chief came forward

and confirmed that the former Prime Minister of England, Sir Edward Heath, had raped dozens

of children.

The department also noted how those within the government helped cover up these crimes.

When these monsters are exposed, as Balls case illustrates, they receive little to no

punishment.

This glaring lack of punishment leads one to speculate as to why the legislative bodies

are allowing it.

Are they perhaps worried that people like Ball will expose their crimes too if they

receive anything less than a slap on the wrist?

The good news is that because people are refusing to be silenced, the coverage of human trafficking

even hit the mainstream this year in a horrifying episode of Dr. Phil.

A former victim, who was born into the sex trafficking trade, came forward to implicate

high-level government officials as well as police and civilians in their role in the

trade.

Even Netflix has begun to expose this horrid problem with their new series The Keepers,

which exposed a decades-long practice of clergy, police, and politicians abusing countless

children.

While Netflix and Dr. Phil have done a huge service to society by exposing this reality,

we have a long way to go to end it.

Pedophilia and child trafficking is a very real issue and those who attempt to discredit

it and sweep it under the rug are either horribly incompetent or complicit.

This problem will not go away through ridicule and name calling.

We must shine light into the darkness through refusing to be silenced.

We must stand for those who are too scared to come forward and we must be the voice for

the voiceless.

Please share this story with your friends and family so that they may see the real horror

of what goes on behind the well-connected political scenes in this country and others.

Until enough people become aware, none of this will end.

[IZZY AND OZZY] YOU GOT YOUR UP AND YOUR DOWNS! - Duration: 6:23.

Going to get some haircuts, with Scout and Danny.

Here we go.

*laughter*

*music*

Okay day 24, I am in Hot Springs, North Carolina and I got this, looks

like one box, but I got 2 boxes.

Um... one from REI and one from the Insognas.

I am so blessed.

Just showered with love and support from both boxes and it really, it really meant a lot.

So so happy to have gotten those and wasn't going to stay in Hot Springs but saw Scout,

Danny, and Spills that I met way long time ago.

So decided I'm going to stay in the Hostel tonight with them and we're going to do a

mineral bath, should be fun.

Taking it easy, just three days today so, I'll get back on the trail tomorrow.

So just going to enjoy Hot Springs tonight.

Super excited.

Day 25.

Leaving Hot Springs.

With Scout and Pots. - oh yeah

*music*

Day 26.

Beautiness.

Feel like I'm in a movie.

Bright green and fog.

There's a whole bunch of these twisty trees that go a whole bunch of ways.

Pretty cool.

On top of a mountain.

Check out the view.

Yeah.

It's gorgeous.

Absolutely gorgeous.

Okay day 27, slept like crap last night, I don't know why.

And it's really windy today.

Which makes it a little bit nippy.

*hard wind*

She had started April 1st, pretty much doing the same miles as me.

She's a pretty cool girl except she started to get some foot pain.

But hopefully we can kind of stay together a little bit.

Um, yeah day 27.

Feeling alright.

Alright, here we go.

*guitar and singing*

Okay Day 28, woke up this morning really not in a good mood, did

not feel good.

I have this cold going on.

Nose is all stuffy, my throat hurts.

Didn't, haven't been able to sleep good the past two nights.

Not in the best mood.

I was happy kind of to find out another guy was having the same issues so something definitely

going around.

Hoping to get to a hostel tonight and we'll camp out and what not.

And hopefully eat some really good food.

So that's about 15, 16 miles today..

Hopefully I can shake this sickness because it's not very fun.

So Day 28, I get sick.

Great.

Classical Musicians React: BAP 'Wake Me Up' - Duration: 9:52.

Gwen: BAP Umu: YEAH! okay~

Hugo: B-A-P wake me up~ [sings] Gwen: [hit it with a dabb]

Hugo: [still singing] when September ends~ Gwen: [belts] wake me up inside

{intro}

Couple: [mumbling about who knows what] Umu: BAP, Shimon do you remember 'one shot'?

Shimon: [wait what?!?!]

Shimon: uhh rice! rice! [is that correct] Umu: Yes <good boy>

Davis: wait one shot yeah that was the Lindsey: WAIT!!! That was the one with the guy who went undercover and then the friend

Davis: yes [agrees with Lindsey] and then [shooting sound effect] and then alternate ending Lindsey: and then the undercover and like they turned on him

Davis: was it real and then blew all of our minds and then everyone lost their sh*t

Davis: Yep~ I know BAP <lol>

Umu: Let's get started so this is BAP 'Wake me up' I cannot promise like extreme amazing musicality but I thought the message of this song is very very very important

Umu: So BAP's I believe leader had to take a year our sometime off because he was diagnosed with anxiety disorder

Umu: and so he rejoined the group he came back and wrote this and this song touches a lot on different mental disorders

Hugo: do we get subtitles or nah? Umu: yes, subtitles are important

Hugo: [score]

Jarod: I have performance anxiety I can relate hopefully not this bad but yeah

Peyton: anddddd 3,2,1 [press]

Jarod: ... that made me anxious Peyton: [bruh]

Naoki: what up with all these logos before songs it's like

Umu: the company Naoki: yeah Shimon: interesting

The crew: [in the groove]

Kevin: oooh I like this filter vocals

Hugo: this is different

The crew: [listening]

Henry: [first to react] wake me up

Fiona: [hand wave]

Jarod: I like that, an endless tunnel, cause speaking of anxiety there really is no end

Davis: I like the guitar [plays his air guitar]

Emiel: the beat's pretty good in this one, it's good Henry: yeah

Yunyi: this is groovy, it's got a good vibe

Naoki: what's the drum pound it's like standard four pound?

Naoki: [demonstrates] Shimon: [has no idea]

Jarod: it's kind of a little bit of Eminem vibe to it with the little inflection at the end Peyton: [agrees]

Kevin: dang diversity Yunyi: yeah

Yunyi: not something you see very much in asian music industries Kevin: right!?!?!?!

Lindsey: I don't have anything to say yet idk it's just like Umu: [lol]

Davis: I cannot put value on my life

Hugo: I'm lovin' this chord progression

Jarod: You can really kind of hear like the despair in his voice which is pretty awesome

Emiel: oh wait Fiona: OOOOHHH Henry: Boyyyy

Emiel: This reminds me of Maroon 5 'Animals'

Henry: [omg mindlblown]

Yunyi: oh the [sings the run] haha that was good

Fiona: OH Animals! Animals! Like animals mals Henry: [shook]

Jarod: I like how the melody and the beat it doesn't really feel settle like it

Jarod: does, but at the same time there's like an aspect to it that's

Jarod: [can't describe]

Peyton: adfksj Jarod: on edge

Henry: that was a ... this is... really interesting

Shimon: oh! what's that called again

Naoki: it's a progression

Kevin: I don't know if I

Davis: Woah! symbolism

Kevin: like i love the musical style

Kevin: and i like the subject matter but I don't know if they mix well

Kevin: it's a little too bright/ poppy

Kevin: for a song so heavy and Yunyi: idk... tell that to Lady Gaga <woah>

Henry: sh*t that's freaky af

Naoki: Oh he's conducting

The Crew: OOHOHHOHH

Lindsey: I feel like this is almost like too real to comment on

Naoki: what bass was like [sings] or something like that?

Lindsey: It's like I feel like I just know so many people who have like gone through stuff like this

Lindsey: that I just like don't even have much to say

Yunyi: Yeah it's kind of interesting cause it keeps up an energy but it doesn't... Kevin: woahhhh

Yunyi: Like keeps up an energy but it doesn't like push to hype

Yunyi: like to where it can be like angsty or like Kevin: yeah

Kevin: well it could be darker, it could be grimier, you know? Yunyi: what is happening?!?!?

Lindsey: Like I'm really digging the music though like Davis: [turn up] nice

Lindsey: I'm really enjoying the music and I like how they're showing like I think maybe the point

Lindsey: of having like a black eye in this video is that they're really showing like a lot of

Lindsey: different people going through a lot of different things that are all like part of what an anxiety disorder would've

Lindsey: tell and they're showing that it can kind of happen to anyone

Gwen: I think the music is, there for the music and I think the lyrics are the most separate from them

Shimon: I like the rapping Naoki: yeah

Fiona: this is like empowering you know?

Emiel: this is good intensity though

Kevin: You're right it's just from I to V with scale degree nothing else Yunyi: right?! [sings] 1-2-3-1-5

Yunyi: I got [sings] 1-5-1-2-3 Kevin: I occasionally got a 5-1 yeah

Yunyi: 1-7-1 Kevin: yeah

Hugo: I'm diggin this, i'm diggin this a lot

Gwen: it just doesn't match with the words

Hugo: I think it does

Gwen: You're like half depressed but also like half jammin

Hugo: like idk I love the chord progression because the chord progression and stuff and how it started off very simple

Hugo: and stayed that way until they got to the emotion revolution part

Yunyi: the melody has been like the very fixed register and a very fixed set of scale degrees

Yunyi: which is why I think why we're not we're not responding to, I think it gives some kind of land locked feeling

Kevin: it's also the way the instrumentals are fixed not...

Yunyi: well instrumentals like don't really change that much ones that went [demonstrates]

Kevin: Especially since all the percussions feel like that light sort of percussion never really goes [demonstrates]

Kevin: no big kick for me Yunyi: [agrees]

Hugo: idk i think it's got really good rhythm, the vocals and how they overdrive the vocals

Hugo: they're doing a lot with a little

Hugo: they're making very minute changes like having the headphones there were several points where it went [demonstrates] and they made a rhythm out of the headphones

Hugo: being different and that small technical thing adds a lot to the song and there's a lot of instances of that in this song

Hugo: like in the opening it was overdrive vocals like really heavily overdrive vocals

Hugo: into... Gwen: into like airplane voices

Hugo: well yeah and just like regular vocals and like actual regular vocals and it was really cool

Hugo: I found and I mean technically it was a really well written song and then on top of that

Hugo: I think they did a really good job of performing it not meaning that they performed it quote on quote but I think the words

Hugo: don't define the music but definitely add a level of depth to it

Emiel: i like it Henry: it also does a really good of like portraying a lot of subtleties

Henry: that go into different types of ways that people suffer from anxiety

Henry: like they have a room that's like has a bunch of pictures and like put together again, this was cool

Umu: right, okay Emielr: that was a good one

Fiona: wait was tit the same as this?!?!!?

Emiel: it's the same two keys too

Fiona: that's why I was able to sing that

<cricket chirps>

Emiel: okay so that was animals and now

The Crew: [sing]

Henry: I think it's like almost exactly the same chord progression too

Kevin: I wanted to like it

Yunyi: well we found the reasons why we were like... Kevin: exactly

Yunyi: why is Kevin: i never thought I'd say this but this needs more aminesence wake me up

Kevin: it needs more of the aminesence feel

Yunyi: I think it needed either more drive or more senitmentality but it kind of got stuck in the middle

Yunyi: I wasn't sure what the music was trying to convey but I mean the lyrics were all there

Yunyi: it's probably more powerful if we could just understand the lyrics from the get go

Umu: without the Yunyi: yeah in korean cause yeah you know I feel like if that would cause more reaction

Yunyi: cause the melody itself was not doing much at all Umu: right that totally makes sense

Umu: what did you think about this first the song musically like the instrumentals and all these

Naoki: Oh I thought it worked it was like standard, standard song but it worked pretty well

Shimon: I felt like it was the same the entire time

Naoki: yeah there was no variety in it apart from like one rap section

Jarod: you know, like I can kind of personally relate to that I really appreciate like the lyrics

Jarod: because it's especially the endless tunnel cause no matter how hard you try it just never seems to kind of go away

Umu: and how do you think it corresponds with the song and such

Jarod: I mean peace never like let up like you know how sometimes in those rap songs that they'll go and

Jarod: and they'll all just be kind of like floaty section or chorus where they bring in the singer? there was really never at that

jarod: it was like rap and the chorus, it was still pretty energetic like you never had like the soprano/ tenor guy

Jarod: or the girl come in and be like totally pauses, it's always just like boom boom boom

Peyton: never like a soaring [belts] moment

Lindsey: you know like he's like going through some stuff just need some time and that's like

Davis: like he wants to wake up ,I think he's currently going through it and like

Davis: to be woken up I think he's reaching out to someone or something as like a very lonely and internal struggle that I'm having

Davis: and having other people to support me is really important to getting through something like that so

Davis: I need you to wake me up so that I can stop feeling this way

Lindsey: I really like how they didn't go the ballade route cause I thought, i'm not saying that becasue I'm not a big ballade person but liek

Lindsey: so many groups have done stuff like that where it's like OMG things are hard so i'm gonna write a ballad about it

Lindsey: because boo hoo, but like this was a much more like honest and real like expression of the emotions and like Davis: nah this was a very

Davis: purging experience, this was filled with emotions Lindsey: and the hardships that like he's going through, yeah I think this was really good

Davis: yeah

How to use GROW and the phrasal verb GROW UP - Duration: 9:50.

Do plants grow or grow up?

And what about children?

In this video you're going to learn how we use these two verbs and fix some very common

mistakes.

Grow has several different but similar meanings, so let's start with some examples.

What things grow?

Plants grow.

They get bigger and taller.

And animals grow, for example puppies.

They grow a lot in the first six months.

And children.

They're always growing.

Hey, you've grown since I last saw you.

You always say that Vicki.

It's true.

Yeah.

So we were talking about height here - how tall he is.

Do you know how tall you are?

Well actually, I am almost five feet tall like an adult.

OK so that's the first meaning of grow – get bigger and taller.

So what else grows?

A queue or a line of people can grow.

The population of a country of city can grow.

Companies can grow.

Their sales can grow, and perhaps their profits too.

Our profits have grown by 50% this year so we're doing very well.

So in these examples, grow means increase in size and number.

OK, here's another common meaning of grow.

It can mean become.

I think it's going to rain.

Really?

Yeah, the sky's growing dark.

Oh yeah.

So here growing means 'gradually beginning to do something'.

We use 'grow' like this with adjectives, so we can grow bored, we can grow impatient,

and we can grow excited.

These are all things that happen over a period of time and growing means becoming.

Great.

Now you know the main meanings of grow, so what about grow up.

This is a phrasal verb and we use it to talk about human beings.

When we develop from a child into an adult, we grow up.

I grew up in Brooklyn in New York, but now I live in Philadelphia.

So Jay is talking about the time in his life when he was becoming an adult here.

Another example.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

I want to be a pilot.

So you want to fly planes?

Yes.

'When you grow up' means, 'when you become an adult'.

Of course some people never really grow up.

Oh grow up Jay!

So here's a phrase we use when we want someone to behave in a more mature and responsible

way.

Now, if someone has grown from a child into an adult, we can say they've grown up.

Parents might say they have grown-up children.

'Grown-up' is an adjective and we use it to describe fully developed and mature adults.

And 'grown-up' can also be a noun.

A grown-up is another way of saying an adult.

But it's a childish way of speaking.

It's a word we use when we're talking with children.

So I'm a grown-up.

Yeah.

Karate.

Karate.

Yeah, right.

Grow is an irregular verb – grow, grew, grown.

But there's something else you should know.

Have a look at this example.

Is grow a transitive or intransitive verb here?

It's intransitive which means there's no object.

The population doesn't grow something.

It just grows.

And what about this example?

Same thing.

No object.

OK, one more.

Ah, this one's different.

There's an object here.

We're growing something.

We're growing lots of flowers on the deck this year.

I'm growing geraniums in this pot and look at these little plants.

I've grown them all from seed.

They're wild flowers.

So grow can be an intransitive or a transitive verb.

It depends what we're talking about, but with plants it can be either.

We can say 'We grow plants' or 'Plants grow'.

There are a few other things like this.

Bacteria for example.

Bacteria can grow or we can grow bacteria.

And then there's our hair and nails.

We can say our hair grows and we can also say we're growing our hair - allowing it

to get longer.

And finger nails.

Our nails grow but we can also grow our nails.

Another thing - beards.

I'm not going to shave today.

Really?

Yes, I'm thinking of growing a beard.

What do you think?

I don't think it's a good idea.

What do you think?

So growing a beard means allowing your beard to grow.

Now what about that other verb - grow up?

Is it transitive or intransitive or both?

Let's see.

Have a look at this example.

What do you think?

It's intransitive here.

There's no object.

Are you thinking, but what about Brooklyn, Vicki?

Yeah, but notice that word 'in'.

There's no direct object here.

'Grow up' is not followed directly by a noun.

Another example.

Transitive or intransitive?

Intransitive again.

'Grow up' is always intransitive.

We grow up, but we can't grow up something.

Remember that if you can because students often make mistakes with that.

We grow up, but we can't grow up something.

I have three questions for you.

First one.

Are these two sentences correct?

The first one is correct but the second one is wrong.

We only use 'grow up' to talk about children.

It means develop into an adult and become mature.

We could say this though, but here 'up' would go with the wall.

It's not the phrasal verb 'grow up'.

OK, second question.

Are these sentences correct?

Yes, they're both correct, but they mean different things.

'The children grew' means they got bigger and taller.

'The children grew up' means they became adults.

OK last one.

What do you think?

Are they correct?

The first one is correct but the second one is wrong.

When we're talking about height we use grow.

Grow up is about becoming more mature and we just grow up.

We don't grow up something.

Did you get them right?

Well done!

Arsenal to step up interest in Stoke star Jack Butland as Petr Cech replacement - Duration: 2:54.

Arsenal to step up interest in Stoke star Jack Butland as Petr Cech replacement - report

Arsene Wenger is keen to find a long term replacement for Petr Cech.  The former Chelsea stopper has two years left on his current deal, but is in the twilight years of his career.  Jordan Pickford was one of the Gunners top targets to replace Cech, but he has joined Everton from Sunderland in a £30million deal - making him the most expensive English keeper ever.  The Stoke keeper has made 42 appearances in the Premier League and won five caps for England.    But the 24-year-old has now emerged as Arsenals top target, according to Bleacher Report.  However, Stoke will play hardball over a transfer with the club likely to demand a huge fee as his contract at the club runs until 2021.  And Butlands agent Gary Mellor has admitted that only a move to a big club would tempt him from the Potters.

Mellor said: If Jacks going to leave Stoke its going to be for a huge club, a club thats playing in the Champions League – and if that sort of club did come in for Jack I think Stoke would recognise that any player would want to go and play at the highest level they possibly can.

But then Jack is in no hurry. Hes come out quite publicly to say he is happy at Stoke City and he wants to win things at Stoke City.

Its not something we have to be proactive with because every time he steps onto the pitch he just answers questions, like with England this week.

Sometimes you look at his performances, like West Ham at home and in the second half at Southampton, and you wonder how good he can be.

I am lucky enough to be old enough to have stood in the Boothen End behind Gordon Banks and I didnt think Id ever get a goalkeeper like that again for Stoke City.

I think we have, I place him that highly. Weve thought he was special since he was 17 to be honest… but I am maybe a little biased..
