How Memory & Company helps Candis and her family - Duration: 3:31.

We chose Memory & Company over other programs because we felt that this was

more of a spa-like setting, a club-like setting, somewhere I would want to go and

hang out as opposed to a more institutional type of setting. We did try

homecare and I think there's a good place for homecare, and I'm not saying

that I would never use homecare, but I think that Memory & Company

offers a social setting that homecare can't. With homecare, you have someone

who's at home they are being cared for nicely, but a) it's a lot more costly; and

b) they are not getting the social interaction that they would get here.

Their physical needs are met, but their social needs and their mental

stimulation and their exercise needs are all being met here and I just think

that's a phenomenal, phenomenal combination. You know, we bring my

mother-in-law here four days-a-week. She continues to be able to live in our home

with us in her in her apartment, which is good for her because it's a

familiar setting, so we're noticing that she's not declining as much as she would

be otherwise. She comes here she has her meals, she socializes with people her own

age who had interests similar to hers, and she gets a bath, and she loves the

baths because it's like a nice spa for her, she can get her hair done she gets

her nails done, they provide really good food for her,

and she comes home in the evenings and has dinner with us and she is more alert

when she comes home. She's smiling she's enjoyed her day.

It allows her to continue to be an adult and have a life in this world

outside of my husband and I and our little family, and the things that we

talk about on an everyday basis; it broadens her social circle

which is great! It has given my mother-in-law the opportunity to have a

social life again, it has given us a little bit of freedom from the actual

physical care. She gets her her nails done here, she can

get a pedicure here, she can get her hair done, she gets her showers here so we can

still be family members and not just caregivers. We can

have that little bit of separation and we can also have a break, you know, from

the day-to-day. So yeah, I would absolutely recommend it.

SILVER CAR ON THE TO TRUCK WHO

WERE HURT IN THIS ACCIDENT AS

WELL.

RIGHT NOW POLICE ARE WORKING ON

FIGURING OUT EXACTLY WHAT

HAPPENED THAT LED TO THIS CRASH.
