welcome to today's fortnight Battle Royale guys today we've got four
competitors behind me and they're all vying for your attention and they're
gonna battle it out to see which one's best for you and why welcome to the
video guys so you want to make money with online courses that's smart
it's one of the best business models out there right now there's no startup costs
you can make money right away and the market is continuously growing
exponentially but there's only one problem there's so many websites out
there so how do you know which one is best for you and which one to ultimately
get started with well today I'm here to solve that problem and today for my
favorite sites are gonna do battle to figure out which one is best for you and
your specific situation so let's jump right into it all right guys if you
can't tell this is you on the battle bus and you are circulating the map right
here in battle royale trying to figure out which landing spot is best for you
your course your marketing potential and your budget so on and so forth now first
and foremost in Utah way too much time on my hands and if you appreciate any of
these beautiful graphic design skills on the board behind me at any point in time
during the video please hit that like button hit that like button whoa and hit
that subscribe button in the Bella notification as well we've got a lot
more graphic design skills like this coming in the near future I promise you
that so I thought this is a cool way to kind of relay the information to you
rather than just listing it on the board today and not to be a little bit boring
so hypothetically you are on the battle bus and you're trying to figure out
which landing spot is best for you and your first online course
do you go over here to wailing woods in YouTube potentially do you maybe go over
here in a fatal fields and teachable maybe you come down the salty springs in
you to me or maybe you just want to stay in loot lake with skill chair which
one's best for you and why let's jump right into it okay so the first one
we're going to touch on is teachable and teachable is a great place to host your
online course and one of the best benefits of putting your course on
teachable is the price point so you can sell your course on teachable for
whatever you want and set your own price point whereas some of the other
marketplaces you're kind of handcuffed to what the prices go for on that
marketplace already another great benefit of teachable is being able to
set up a payment plan for your students so to give you an example my premium of
course that sells on teachable which teaches you how to maximize these other
platforms and earn passive income every single month sells for 595 but teachable
also lets me set up a payment plan for that so that students that might not
want to spend 600 bucks for a one-time course payment have the opportunity to
pay monthly as they go I specifically set my payment plan up
for three easy payments of 195 or the entire payment upfront of 595 but you
can set up a payment plan of six months 12 months we're given have multiple
options it's really up to you and they give you that freedom and that's a great
benefit of teaching on a site like teachable another great benefit that
people don't realize is the built in affiliate program so you can sign up
another marketer through the built in affiliate program on teachable and then
they can go out and market your course to their potential student base or their
potential following and then it's a win-win for both of you because they get
the Commission obviously whatever Commission you set for them and then you
get the sale that you wouldn't have otherwise made although one of the main
drawbacks affiliate program aside is that you do have to do all the marketing
so whether you're outsourcing that to affiliates or you're doing it yourself
you do have to do all the marketing and promotion on a site like teachable
however with the site like you to me or Skillshare like we're going to talk
about here in a second they actually do a vast majority of the marketing for you
and you kind of can ride the coattails actually of their platforms and they'll
put students from their own platforms into your course without you having to
do anything so it's really a great benefit of teaching on other sites
whereas with teachable one of the main drawbacks is that you do have to
actually promote the course and market to potential students yourself all right
so moving on the one that most people don't think of and that's actually
YouTube now YouTube isn't really a course site that you would think of when
you think of putting a course online but it's actually a great platform to do so
and I'm actually planning on putting on YouTube course out for free really
really soon so if I were gonna do it here's exactly what I would do so I'd
make a course on something random let's go back to the soccer example that I've
used in past videos before and what I would do is I'd create maybe ten to
twenty videos and then throw them all in a playlist and upload them once every
single day for about ten to twenty days I then call that a course even though it
really just beat videos in a playlist on YouTube now what I make any money off
that Adsense revenue wise or anything like that probably not no but what I do
get is I get to capitalize off the traffic that's already on the second
largest search engine in the world YouTube so what YouTube will actually do
is they'll actually send people to my videos or my course so to speak and
these people will be more targeted and already be more inclined and prone to
want to purchase soccer stuff or whatever topic or niche you're basically
teaching about and then I can monetize that audience in a number of ways and
one of the easiest ways that I can actually monetize that audience is
selling consulting on it so for the soccer niche specifically it
might be something like online coaching but that obviously varies from niche to
niche and topic the topic depending on what your course is based on you can
also monetize that traffic with related affiliate links so to go back to the
soccer example maybe I create a video that's basically about you know the top
10 best cleats that can improve your speed or quickness and then I've linked
those links in the description and then obviously when people go and purchase
those cleats through my links I get an affiliate Commission another great way
to monetize that and actually probably the best way is to do retargeting with
people on Facebook or even back on you tube now we're getting a little bit
advanced here but I'm gonna give you two examples of what I exactly mean here in
a second so the first example would be that you could use Adwords to target
people that viewed your videos and then send ads to them following them around
YouTube even to other channels you can then upsell those people in those ads
higher ticket items like maybe your teachable course or you know merch or
something like that or get them in a webinar funnel or anything along those
lines or you could use a description to give away something free related to that
niche in exchange for their email you then just got two valuable things you
got one their email and to them to hit your website your landing page with a
retargeting pixel already installed and then you can follow them around social
media in this specific example you know maybe the Facebook or Instagram or stuff
like that and sell them stuff now those are two
more advanced options but just kind of gets you thinking and gives you another
way to kind of approach monetizing a platform like YouTube and of course
throwing on YouTube and most people don't think that you can make a lot of
money on YouTube but I assure you most people are wrong all right now moving on
a steal share skill share is a great place to upload courses especially if
you're new to all this they boast about two million students and they're growing
exponentially as the day's increase and they make it really really really really
really really really really easy to upload a course and you can actually
make money with two different ways on Skillshare and i'm gonna talk about them
here in a second and then while it's similar to excite like you to me which
we're gonna talk about here in a second it's actually different in a lot of ways
so with steal share specifically you don't actually upload your course to the
platform and then sell that course for a specific price instead what you do is
you upload it to the platform and then all the premium users that actually pay
for a skill share monthly have the opportunity to access your course you
then get a revenue share of all the views that your course receives on that
platform relative to the other courses from premium instructors so it's a cool
little way to earn passive money on a platform like Skillshare that's a little
bit different than you know normally selling your courses specifically for a
purchase price like the other potential site
we're talking about the second way that you can make money on Skillshare is by
referring people and yes I'm actually back on the platform now creating
courses that are native to that actual platform just only found on Skillshare
and can't be found anywhere else and you make $10 per referral as a Skillshare
instructor so if you send the potential student to Skillshare through your link
and they end up signing up for the trial and I believe that trial is free it
might actually be 99 cents a month now which is still a steal then you
obviously get the $10 referral bonus and they get to sign up through a discounted
link so it's a win-win for both parties and if you actually have a following
already this can be a great way with a referral program to monetize your course
as well as your student base so if you guys are interested in tens of thousands
of premium courses based on literally anything you can imagine check the
description for my referral link now before we move on to udemy which is
actually my favorite course site here in a second I want to touch on the fact
that I actually erased my beautiful graphic design skills here because I hit
the record button on my camera without realizing that I actually wasn't
recording now uni is hands-down my favorite course site to sell courses on
I currently have about 34 I think it's 34 it might be 35 million of courses on
udemy that all earn me an average of one hundred to two hundred dollars per month
so that's roughly about three thousand to seven thousand dollars monthly
passively every single month and I don't have to do anything to get that money
it's really really simple to start and I suggest that to anybody that's just
getting into the course creation game however one of the drawbacks on a site
like you to me is the price point so unlike teachable you can't sell it for
whatever you want you might start your course at a hundred
and eighty dollars or two hundred and eighty dollars but the majority of your
courses are gonna sell on that site for about ten to fifteen bucks the reason
for that is because the majority of students actually expect discount links
on to the courses and so the majority of those courses like I said will only sell
for ten to fifteen dollars however udemy actually has a student based an active
student base of twenty million students that
visit the platform and take courses on a regular basis on top of that and this is
the best part they do all of the marketing for you so you can literally
slap a course up on udemy and they'll send students your way and put students
into your course literally without you having to do anything it's a great great
great way to start earning passive income every single month with minimal
effort and risk now don't get me wrong you can start making money on you to
meet today however there are some things to keep in mind and consider some
secrets so to speak to insistently rank their courses and consistently earn that
monthly income another shameless plug to my you to me instructor Pro course which
is linked in the description but in all seriousness in all jokes aside this is
literally the best platform and the best way that I know right now to make money
online now you don't need me and you don't need my course to start putting
you to me courses online if you're not looking to be sold that's totally
totally fine I still recommend that you do this however all my course basically
does is provide you with a step-by-step walkthrough and some of the secrets so
to speak to cut your learning curve exponentially and help you make money
faster on the platform I dare you to put one course on udemy just just one just
try it out you might just realize how easy it is to make money on a platform
like this so there you have it guys the battle royale who won who's the last man
standing well early on as hype as it was teaching bill got sniped about a minute
in so we're gonna cross teachable out for the second time as you can see here
then as good as Skillshare is for learning
I II my referral link in the description you do need a lot of content to actually
make considerable amounts of income on that platform so if that's you then
maybe you want to slap a bunch of courses on the site like Skillshare
however if that's not you chances are this is not where you want to start then
as much earning potential as YouTube actually has udemy came around the
corner and blew it away with a shotgun leaving our fortnight battle royale
course winner to be udemy so they you have it guys I hope you really
really like this video I put way too much thought and way too much effort to
relay this information to you on top of that I recorded this video about three
to four freaking times so I really really hope that you liked it if you did
like it please hit that like button it really really helps me out and lets me
know that I'm on the right track it also lets me know that I'm not some
weirdo just talking to a camera and with that being said I'll see you guys in the
next one
