Youtube daily what Jul 1 2018

you might have noticed a puddle of water on the road ahead when driving on a

sunny day the road on the front looks wet and when you approach towards it it

moves forward well this is an optical illusion called Mirage Mirage is an

optical phenomena which is the result of total internal reflection light when

travelling from a denser medium to a lighter medium bends away from the

normal this is called refraction increasing the angle of incidence will

affect the light to bend more and more and there will be an incident angle when

the refracted rays will be so bent that it passes through the separating surface

between the two medium this special angle is called critical angle if the

incident angle is further increased the refracted ray comes back to the previous

medium or in other words totally reflected this is called total internal

reflection in summer the hot rod heats of the air just above it this change in

temperature of the air changes the density and refractive index light from

the sky when passes through the layers of different density air it refracts

many times and there creates a point where the angle is so that the total

internal reflection takes place and the light reflects upward when we finally

see the light and Trace back in straight line we see a his reflection of the sky

on road and looks wet or puddle of water the same phenomena is used in

optical fiber in communication by transmitting signal in the form of light

optical fibres are made of core and cladding the core has high refractive

index and the cladding has comparatively low refractive index light when enters

with an angle more than critical angle bounces inside the fiber many times and

reaches on the other end with a very little loss even if the fiber is bent or

of complex shape the major advantage in the fiber is they are immune to

electromagnetic interferences and these fibers are used for high-speed

communication so you see the phenomena that causes Mirage is used for

communication so this was about total internal

reflection like if you liked the video say something on the comment box

What is: Do-Dodonpa - Fuji-Q Highland - Duration: 4:21.

Do-Dodonpa is a steel launched roller coaster, located at Fuji-Q Highland, in Yamanashi,

Japan.

The ride, which debuted as the world's fastest roller coaster, maintains the record for featuring

the quickest acceleration of any roller coaster in the world.

To put it into perspective, Do-Dodonpa launches riders from 0 to 180 kmh (112mph), in only

1.56 seconds.

This subjects the guests to up to 3.3Gs of force upon launch, more than that experienced

by Astronauts on take-off.

Do-Dodonpa opened to the public on the 21st of December 2001.

The ride, which was manufactured by the American company S&S Worldwide, initially debuted under

the shortened name of Dodonpa, and featured a slightly different layout to what can be

experienced today.

Previously, the ride was well known for its signature top hat element, in which riders

would climb 52m (171ft), before plummeting back towards the ground.

In its previous configuration, Dodonpa featured a slower launch, a shorter track length, and

slower maximum acceleration.

However, the ride closed on the 2nd of October 2016 to undergo extensive upgrades and renovations.

Less than a year later, the ride reopened to the public as Do-Dodonpa, on the 15th of

July 2017.

During the changes, Dodonpa's signature top-hat element was torn down, and replaced

with a 49m (161ft) tall vertical loop.

Guests begin their experience of the ride, by navigating the its queue line.

As they do so, they learn the origin of the roller coasters name.

Dodonpa stems from Japanese musical sounds, more specifically the Taiko drum.

During the queue, guests can hear three consecutive drum beats, representing the sounds Do-don-pa.

This ominous drumming builds up tension within the queue line, leading visitors to heavily

anticipate their ride.

Once guests make it to the station building, they board the ride vehicles.

The trains are made up of 4 cars, each of which seat two riders.

This leads to a total of 8 guests per train.

Once riders have boarded the trains, they leave the station and undergo a slow right

hand turn.

At this point, they stop on the launch track.

A voice begins the countdown to the launch, before riders are suddenly accelerated down

the launch tunnel.

After only 1.56 seconds, the trains have reached their maximum speed, and guests are hurtling

down the track.

Riders speed through a short tunnel, followed by a large, extended right hand turn.

A third tunnel can be found at the end of the turn, signalling the beginning of the

attractions single vertical loop.

Guests slowly navigate the top of the inversion, before plummeting back towards the earth,

and entering a 4th tunnel.

A brief left hand turn can be found immediately after the tunnel, leading riders into a large

straight section of track, and the first brake run.

The trains undergo a slow left hand turn, followed by a right 180 degree turn, into

the roller coasters final brake run.

From first launch, to first brake run, the ride experience lasts for a total of 34 seconds.

During this time, riders navigate most of the 1244m (4081ft) long circuit.

For many guests, the highlight of the ride is the intense first launch.

Unlike most roller coasters, which utalise a magnetic launch system, Do-Dodonpa features

the more rare compressed air launch.

This isn't the only rare aspect of the ride however.

Do-Dodonpa is one of two roller coasters built as the 'Thrust Air Coaster Model'.

The other, HyperSonic XLC at Kings Dominion in America, ceased operation in 2007.

Both rides were well known for their extremely impressive launches, and unique ride experiences.

The Science of Attraction (What Makes Someone Attractive?) - Duration: 5:07.

Think back to the last time you were walking down the street, and someone caught your eye.

What was it about them that got your attention?

Was it the way they looked?

smiled?

walked?

Maybe there was an unusual aura about them, something you couldn't quite explain?

So, what is attraction?

Attraction, especially in a romantic way, is a very complex process that takes place

in our brains, and has had its roots since the beginning of humankind.

It's our mind's way of telling us who has the potential to be our partner, our friend,

or our soul mate, and is based on a complex blend of our interests, values, experiences,

and desires.

Physical and romantic attraction, which are often focused on, are only small facets of

a much larger equation.

One way that psychologists look at the ingredients of attraction is in the form of a pyramid

split into 4 different different sections.

The base of the pyramid is made up of health and status.

Status, is split into two: Internal, which includes confidence, skill set and beliefs,

and external, which includes a person's job, possessions and appearance.

The metrics involved with health include the physical attributes, movement, smell, and

basic levels of intelligence.

If a potential partner passes these initial requirements, then we move up to the centre

of the pyramid, which are the emotional factors.

These include the trust and comfort someone exudes, their emotional intelligence, and

unique characteristics.

The final portion of the pyramid is "Logic".

This is the part that differentiates us from other animals, and is the point when our brains

seriously considers whether we're totally compatible with the other person.

It ensures that the other person is aligned with us in terms of what they want- things

such as marriage, children, or even the city they want to live in.

According to this model, the more alignment there is, the more attraction there is, but

it doesn't always have to follow from bottom to top - like in online dating, for example.

Another model arranges these qualities into a map and is gradually established throughout

your life.

A child would develop a rough prototype of what qualities he/she likes or dislikes based

on experiences with their parents, teachers, and friends.

As the child grows older, this prototype is fleshed out, and deeper qualities are established,

like sense of humour and interests.

Throughout adulthood, this map evolves, changes, and grow alongs with them as their personal

priorities and experiences change.

So, what makes someone attractive?

There's no definitive answer to this question, but the first thing that may come to mind

are physical traits.

Due to the prevailing influence of the media, we tend to favour women who have younger,

more feminine features - such as bright eyes, clear skin, full lips, and a narrow hip-to-waist

ratio.

In men, on the other hand, qualities such as broad shoulders, a deep voice, and strong

jawline as are looked highly upon.

Scientists suggest that this also has an evolutionary origin, because these traits are associated

with a higher chance of producing healthy offspring and passing on good genes.

Of course, culture, values, and the environment that we grow up in also play an important

role.

In a study published in Nature, psychologists looked at cultures removed from the influence

of Western media.

Surprisingly, they found that in two of the three examined tribes, men preferred women

whose body mass indices would actually classify them as overweight, by Western standards.

But, if attraction was purely based on physical characteristics, then everyone would be attracted

to the same people.

Our life experiences probably have the greatest impact on the type of people we fall for.

It is thought that a large number of couples usually fall within the same brackets in terms

of size, education, religious beliefs, values, and socioeconomic status.

Put simply, psychologists believe that people are more likely to get along with someone

with a similar perspective on life, rather than someone who's had a completely different

experience.

From a genetics perspective, scientists think that humans pick their mates assortatively,

meaning that they choose partners with similar genetic traits.

For example, a study at the University of California found that married couples tended

to have a similar genetic scores for educational achievement.

Brain Chemistry

Our personalities are determined, in a large part, by the chemistry within our brains.

There's four main neurotransmitters- dopamine, serotonin, testosterone, and estrogen and

oxytocin- these exist in different amounts in each of us, and the one that's dominant

has also been shown to affect attraction.

For example, research shown that dopamine dominant people are curious and creative,

and are more attracted to the same, while Serotonin dominant personalities are conscientious

and rule-following, and like the same type too.

Testosterone dominant minds, however, are analytical, tough minded and skeptical, and

are attracted to their opposites- the estrogen/oxytocin personalities that exhibit more imaginative

and nurturing traits.

---

As you can see, attractiveness is complex, there's a number of different perspectives

to consider, and at the end of the day, there's very little we can do in choosing who we are

attracted to.

Each person looks for a unique set of traits and, while physical traits are often focused

on, there are far more factors that comes into play.

A person's upbringing, behaviour, and even lifestyle have a major influence.

The most important thing to remember is to be happy and make the most of it!

Q&A - What is this flower? A: Cleome - Duration: 1:33.

"What is this plant?

"I have seen it before but can't remember "what it is called," and this is from Rick

in Corith, Mississippi.

You wanna do this one?

- This is my favorite plant.

- Your favorite plant, Andy, go ahead.

- It's not native, but it's a cleome.

- Cleome.

- And they reseed, if you got it, it could come back from last year, or again, it's good

for pollinators, I've got actually a big patch in my yard, behind some natives.

But it has a small footprint, it'll get taller and taller, one thing you might wanna try

if you want to get a constant bloom, at some point, cut the big seed head off, and see

if you can get some lateral growth, although they're really tall, pretty, interesting plants,

but they reseed freely.

If you got it this year and it's happy, you're gonna have it next year too, from fresh plants.

- You can share it with friends.

- Yeah, lots of friends.

- Also had a friend with a cat named Cleome.

Cool cat name, if you're lookin' for a new pet name, think about Cleome.

-So there you have it Rick, it's Andy's favorite plant.

- One of my favorites.

- One of your favorites.

- We have no favorites.

- Yeah, y'all have--

- One of your favorites.

- It's my favorite plant right now.

- So it's his favorite plant right now, Rick.

Hi, my name is Liliana.

This is my very first Evercoach Summit and

I don't know even where to start other than that I'm completely blown away from this weekend.

But what I really like about this weekend is like just

the practical steps, like I know exactly what I need to do

and for.. I don't think it's ever been presented in this way for me before,

where it's just crystal clear.

I know exactly what I'm doing tomorrow, the day after, next week, next month,

and I'm just really excited about it, truly.

These are people who understand what my challenges are every day,

so the community is, it's been just wonderful,

and I just can't believe I've waited this long to do something like this.

Just blissful, I feel so blissful, I do.

I'm just gonna make sure that I'm at every single one of them from now on.

Q&A – What are these plants? A: Elderberry - Duration: 1:41.

"What are these plants that have come up in my back yard?

"Is it something I can keep?

"I have seen them all over the landscape here in Memphis."

And this is from Paula right here in Memphis.

And I've seen it everywhere as well.

- [Carol] Should we all say it together?

- You wanna say it?

- It is--

- [All] Elderberry.

- Right.

- And really, they're blooming like hydrangeas this year, this is one of the best years I've

ever seen, it is.

- I have a theory on that.

I'm thinking there's maybe, the roadsides are just rife with it and I'm thinking maybe

they've developed some herbicide resistance, 'cause these are places that get sprayed a

lot.

I'm seeing a lot of them in railroad tracks and highways and fencelines where they've

been trying to kill out other things and the elderberries are starting to really take over,

which is a good thing for the wildlife.

- The berries are herbal medicine, jellies, they're great for wildlife, they are a little

messy, but the blooms are just beautiful.

- They're beautiful.

- They're beautiful.

- I love 'em.

- Yep.

- Wow.

Yeah, I didn't think about that 'cause yeah, you are seeing 'em along the roadsides and

highways--

- That struck me last year, I started thinking, "Why are we seeing so many elderberries?"

- [Chris] There are a lot this year.

- Particularly talked about this being a good year for this plant, that plant, we're talking

earlier about it being a good year for ticks, it's hard to gauge what constitutes a good

or bad year for stuff.

- And whenever it's a good year for ticks, it's a bad year for humans.

- Exactly.

What is Globalism? - Duration: 1:32.

Globalism really amounts to the idea that we don't have a nation

we are just citizens of the world and other people from all over the world are

citizens of Canada, and I think that's just ridiculous

yeah it's absurd, and would you link one world government in with globalism

agenda well yeah there are people who talk about one-world government

I wouldn't put it like one world government because in reality what is

going on is that we have these international agencies like the UN,

people like George Soros, and he is financing all sorts of groups that are

pushing for this idea of one world government but it isn't quite that they

want to have just one government ruling over the world. They really just want the

citizens of Western nations to think of themselves as members of a world

government in the sense that there are these international agencies and

authorities that should interfere and should dictate to Canada and

the United States and Australia how they should govern themselves.

So in that sense yes you can talk about one world government
