FRIDA KAHLO 🌺🌵🐒 | Draw My Life - Duration: 6:03.

Magdalena Carmen Frida Kahlo Calderón, better known as Frida Kahlo, was born in Coyoacán

on July 6th 1907.

She was a mexican painter and poet.

Frida grew up in the famous Blue House in Coyoacán, with her dad Guillermo Kahlo (german,

who became a naturalised mexican) and her mom Matilde Calderón.

Frida had three sisters: Matilde, Adriana and Cristina, 11 months younger than her,

and a brother, Guillermo, who died some days after he was born.

Frida also had 3 older sisters on her dads side: Luisa, Margarita and María, who also

died soon after she was born.

Frida's childhood was marked by the different illnesses she went through, leaving permanent

sequels on her.

Her dad, wanting to cheer her up and looking for a way of rehabilitation for her, encouraged

her to practise sports such as soccer or boxing.

Contrary to the good relationship she had with her dad, Frida's relationship with

her mom always went through ups and downs.

It was not a constant in Frida's life.

In 1922, she enrolled in the National Preparatory High School, in Mexico , where she wanted

to study medicine.

Here, she got to know future mexican intellectuals and artists, such as Salvador Novo, or Alejandro

Gomez Arias (who will also become her boyfriend), among others.

Frida joined the group The Cachuchas, named after the caps they used.

They defined themselves as a political group, crítical with authorities and injustice.

Frida started working as an apprentice at Fernando Fernandez Dominguez 's engraving

and printing workshop, a friend of her dad.

He taught her how to paint imitating Anders Zorn.

On september 17th 1925, Frida suffered a serioustraffic accident.

She was travelling on a bus that got moved down by a tram.

She suffered several injuries, broken pelvic bone, spinal column…

She had to go through different methods of rehabilitation that would leave a mark on

her forever.

Plaster corsets, mechanisms of stretching...

During her long convalescence (convalésens), she started painting constantly.

And this is how painting becomes an essential part of her life.

In 1926 she painted her first self portrait, dedicated to Alejandro.

In this first work, we can already see a characteristic that will be a constant in her works: reflecting

how she sees life and how things make her feel.

At this period, Frida had already started to frequent political, artistic and intellectual

spheres.

There, she would meet Diego Rivera, 21 years older than her.

Soon, Frida would be attending the meetings of the Mexican Communist Party, of which Diego

was a member.

. In 1928, Frida visited Rivera when he was

working in one of his famous murals, with the intention of showing him her own works.

Rivera was impressed and encouraged her to keep painting.

From that moment on, Diego was a constant guess at the Kahlo's home.

On August 21st 1929, they got married.

This marriage was even known as the "union between an elephant and a dove".

Diego was big and obese; Frida, little and thin.

Their relationship was based on love, adventures with other people, a creative link and hate.

Even tho the doctors told Frida she couldnt have children because of her INJURIES, she

got pregnant in 1930.

However, because of the sequels of the accident and the baby's position, her pregnancy had

to be interrupted.

It took her long to accept she could never have children...

Despite the adventures from both sides, the couple perfectly complemented each other in

many aspects.

Diego loved her paintings and was her biggest fan, however…

Frida was her husbands biggest critic.

Due to the political atmosphere at the time and thanks to Diegos fame in the US, the couple

moved there.

Frida would then have contact with Giorgio de Chirico's influences.

In Detroit, during one of Diego's orders, she went through another abortion.

The pain she felt was captured in several of her works.

After this terrible event, they went back to Mexico in 1933.

In 1939 Kahlo and Rivera got divorced, after several infidelities - the most painful of

them, Diego and Frida's sister, Cristina.

At the time, Frida had an affair with the communist leader León Trotsky, who lived,

exiled those years in the Blue House.

After Leóns assassination by a member of the NKVD, Frida was blamed and arrested, tho

set free not long after.

A year later, they married again.

It was more of a friendly agreement than an usual marriage.

During those years, the recognition of her works kept growing, and she participated in

several expositions, at the MOMA in New York, among others.

In 1953, the only individual exposition in Mexico City took place.

Frida was very weak, and she went to the event in an ambulance, on a hospital bed.

That same year they had to amputate her right leg, below her knee, due to gangrene.

This sent her into a profound depression.

She tried to kill herself several times.

In the end, Frida Kahlo died in Coyoacan on July 13th 1954.

She was cremated and her ashes lie in the Blue House, a museum now.

The last words in her diary were "I joyfully await the exit – and I hope never to return"

Her personality has been adopted as one of the international icons of feminism.

Frida Kahlo has turned into a cultural reference, a myth that lives beyond the image the painter

had created

of herself.

Long live our Frida!

Wake Up and Change Your Life | MORNING MOTIVATION (very motivational) - Duration: 8:11.

[Music]

you must understand that your life is on

the line every single day you wake up

when you get out of your Bay there is

competition

racing to get to the top of that mount

what are you gonna do to be the winner

how much time with your buddy

how much blood sweat and tears are you

willing to lose look yourself in the

mirror axis so if not now then win it

doesn't matter if you have a play the

only thing matters is the passion that

you have in your heart

the only thing matters is their job your

family the people that's dependent on

you the most doesn't matter if you have

high expectation it doesn't matter if

you just talk about you have to write

these things down you have to paint this

picture in your hand ask yourself what

does the top look like keep climbing yes

there may be rocks falling down on you

try to hold you down but you must keep

fighting you must understand that you

will fail sometime you must understand

it your hands may slip off those rock

you must understand that while you're

climbing you cannot see the top but you

must know that is beautiful you must

know that it's worth it because that is

the very thing that keeps you gold don't

look to the left to see with the other

man's gold don't look to the right and

see with the other man's plan because

your gift

it's your gift show the world that

stammer soon a world how strong you

really are

don't bring a person it just talks about

it don't be a person it just reads about

other people's success rice house story

the price that book at the top of the

mountain

[Music]

we must dream and make it a reality okay

you want to be somebody who succeeds you

want to be somebody who builds something

you want to be somebody who people

writing books about one day you are

gonna have to be okay with being

banished for a long time I've learned to

look at every single loss as an

opportunity of how to win more and

that's what you need to do too you don't

look at it like hey everybody's gonna

point and laugh so quit letting people

stand in your way quit letting you stand

in your way and understand that you know

you're you're gonna suck once you

understand that every time you lose is

an opportunity for you to not only learn

that lesson but take it a plus one step

past the lesson you'll start to

appreciate those lessons you know these

kind of things that happen to you

these very extreme situations that that

are very hard to overcome these big

obstacles these things end up being some

of the best things that happen to you

and I'm a real firm believer that you're

not gonna find one really successful

person out there that doesn't have a

real story of overcoming obstacles

because just like in the weight room

without resistance you can't grow you

know your muscles are not gonna grow

without weight resistance your mental

fortitude and strength and ability and

skills are not gonna grow without

resistance and that's why every single

person you meet who is very successful

athlete or a very successful business

guy or whatever they

a story of overcoming extreme obstacles

okay it's not because they're making

them up it's because those obstacles are

what eventually help determine and

develop and you know create the skills

and the fortitude and the persistence

that's needed to succeed you guys but

you can develop the perspective of your

obstacles actually being a workout for

your brain before your fortitude for

your intensity for your ability to

persevere and see them as a benefit as

opposed to seeing them as some

negativity or obstacle or some sort of

thing that's holding you back

how much more positive would you feel

about your journey

how much more passive what you feel if

someone stood in your way every time a

situation didn't work out you didn't

look at the situation sucks you know you

say you know what this great because I

have an opportunity to grow I'll

opportunity to get strong to make it

better that my competitors and the

people that I'm gonna be competing

against my entire life don't have which

puts me in an extreme advantage you know

there's to waste and have a zero option

mentality there's one way you could be

injured and literally not have a choice

your choice is to either get better or

be in a wheelchair be handicapped or be

physically disabled for the rest of your

life

but in success people who are extremely

driven extremely successful and

extremely well accomplished they have

the ability to mentally flip that switch

to where they don't have a choice but to

do the things they need to do if you

talk to them it will sound really weird

okay

because they'll tap heads if they don't

have a choice they will talk as if they

don't succeed the world is going to end

and they they have conditioned

themselves to believe this as fat okay

they think that if they don't succeed

their world will end and you know what

their world will end because that's how

much pride in how much focus and how

much intensity and how much dry and how

much value they put on success to where

if they don't get to where they want to

go their life will have been a waste and

guys are telling you right now success

is hard being successful is very very

hard it takes everything bit of your

focus every bit of your energy every bit

of your concentration every single bit

of your soul is required to get where

you want to go your obstacles are there

to teach you they're there to mulch

they're there to forge you and to a

machine but unfortunately most people

don't look at obstacles outlet they look

at how circles as this negative thing

wife hates me the universe hates me

God hates me I'm unlucky the worse that

there is bad things only happening and

that's because you're choosing to see

things the wrong way you're choosing to

pick the perspective of you're a victim

as opposed being a battle-hardened

warrior that is going to kick ass and

you are so thankful for these obstacles

but they were gonna make you stronger

more effective and more successful over

the course of your life I challenge you

guys to see your obstacles as a great

thing I challenge you guys to see your

problems as a great thing I challenge

you guys to quit being victims and whiny

little crybabies about every bad thing

that happens to you and start being

thankful that you have the opportunity

to grow get stronger get more focused

get more skilled and kick more ass

because every hardship you face

[Music]

you

Furnishing Homes For A New Life After Domestic Violence - Duration: 7:34.

Furnishing Homes For A New Life After Domestic Violence

Julie Davis directs half a dozen volunteers as they unload a 16-foot truck in front of a Nashville duplex.

Bunk beds, dressers, lamps and a diaper-changing station come out of the truck; so do boxes with shampoo, books, toys, a kitchen's worth of supplies.

Everything going into the empty two-bedroom apartment has been donated to Re-New, a project that Davis, a high-end interior designer, began eight years ago, when she decided to start using her clients' old furniture to help domestic violence victims moving out of a shelter.

Since then, Re-New's dedicated crew of volunteers has furnished nearly 200 homes, for more than 400 women and children they've never met, and all for free.

The tenants — who get to keep all the furnishings — tell Davis what color schemes they like, and what their needs are.

She coordinates each project from start to finish.

"I'll come take measurements, make a blueprint of the house," said Davis.

"Then, when I go back to the warehouse I'll know then what size sofa, what size drapes, what size beds.".

In no time, the latest apartment features an earth-toned living room, an orange and pink kitchen, and in the kids' room, brightly-colored animal paintings that would usually run around $100 each.

The family will move in just hours after the volunteers leave with their hammers, drills and vacuum cleaners.

Davis got the idea for Re-New in 2010, during lunch with the then-CEO of the Nashville YWCA.

The organization not only runs a domestic violence shelter, it also pays for one year of transitional housing in places victims pick out themselves.

Davis thought, why not use what her wealthy clients no longer wanted to create beautiful, welcoming homes for those recovering from trauma.

She said the vision from the very beginning was to make domestic abuse survivors feel two things when they walked in their new home: "We want them to feel like somebody cared, and we want to feel like they have hope.

The biggest thing is hope.

We're trying to make a difference one home at a time.".

For confidentiality reasons, no one at Re-New ever meets the families.

But Kristin Taylor, a core volunteer who's in charge of the power tools, thinks about them every time they do up a home.

"Often times," said Taylor, "five o'clock after work I'll look at my watch [and think] 'Oh, maybe they're walking through the door right now and what do they think?' Or I think about sleeping in their own bed the first night.

It's a nice feeling.".

The volunteer crew does hear from families, though, through thank-you letters and reaction videos.

Like one from Christan Lyons and her daughters, who shrieked as they walked through their Re-New apartment for the first time last year: "It's sooooo soooo amazing! It's a dream come true!" One of Lyons' daughters even thanked Santa Claus.

Lyons said it took nearly a dozen visits from the police, two orders of protection and a warning from child services to finally leave her husband.

She was nearly bankrupt when she and her three kids went into the shelter.

They spent five months there before Lyons found her new place.

Today, she says she's extremely grateful to have been able to leave behind many things from her old house — they were filled with too many bad memories.

She says even if her husband "had burned down the house or I was unable to get divorced and he was harboring all of my things, it wouldn't have mattered because Re-New had the whole place furnished anyway.

So it's nice to not have needed any of that stuff and be able to just throw it all away.".

It felt like a reward for having the courage to walk away.

Christan Lyons.

But equally profound, says Lyons, was walking into a home custom-decorated with so much love, by total strangers.

"It's an invaluable experience for a woman who's gone through brutal abuse," she said, "It felt like a reward for having the courage to walk away.".

The 33-year-old now works at a behavioral health care center, and wants to become a therapist, to help others like herself.

Meanwhile, the Re-New team is preparing the next home — they do about two per month.

Davis and her partner in Re-New have long outgrown the garage where they first stored donations from her clients.

Today, their warehouse is full of items from a variety of donors, including a gardening store that makes sure each place has a welcome mat.

And families are always greeted by a warm crock-pot full of chili, for their first meal in their new home.

Jesse Itzler "Build Your Life Resume" Course Review | Week 4 - Duration: 5:24.

all right week for Jesse Itzler build your life resume course this is my

favorite week so far I am so fired up about this course and I you can tell if

you've watched the last three in succession I'm you know same clothes

same piece I've been doing these back-to-back I knew after week for us I

got a I got a document this so from now on OB they'll be coming once a week for

the next few weeks but number four what winners do was my god I am fired the

fuck up from Jesse its ler he just talks about man he's he's been in meetings

with and on you know he had a plane company right for ultra wealthy people

so he's met probably thousands of millionaires and really successful

people businesspeople athletes authors entrepreneurs whatever and he knows they

have certain you categorized some certain things that what winners do and

let's just get into some of the lists I I'm not going to go through every single

one what inspired me to write a post about what I think winners do you check

out my Twitter and Instagram Tommy Tahoe but Jesse it sir what a winners do they

visualize if you can't see you can't do it if you can see it in your mind you'll

see it before your eyes as Conor McGregor says they visualize success

very specifically that is number one maybe they became an expert in their

field they learned they read they became very knowledgeable in whatever topic

that they wanted to be the best at like LeBron James is a great example he's a

student of the game he knows the rules he knows the history of it he knows all

the technique and that's why you're one of the reasons why he's so great it's

not just natural skill winners check the box they put a big goal in their

calendar they get it done they check the box they're done they're on to the next

one they're not dwelling on success they're not saying hey look at me I ran

a marathon oh they're going on to the next one they're going on to the next

race the next this the next that they're going forward

winners fix it this is a cool one most people don't fix things right like if

you see the the leaky faucet at the office or even at your house oh

I've had this this cabinet door in my kitchen that's been off for like three

months so clearly I'm not being a winner about the scenario and it's so easy to

fix whether I fix it myself or I have someone help me fix it but most people

don't do it the point is if something's going wrong there's an issue at hand

there's the only certain amount of people that actually had say hey I'm

gonna take the time when it'll fix this every single time and be that guy or

girl that fixes things so be the person that fix it don't just let it go don't

say oh it'll help itself you get it done winners can handle it they can handle

the pressure and I actually just got notification Jesse thanks for the tweet

my friend hope you watch this video as well they can handle the pressure you

know as Tim Grover says who is Michael Jordan's personal coach pressures our

privilege right you're you are you should be privileged to be to feel the

pressure and to feel the heat a little bit so that you can handle those heist

those high-stress situations in business or just in life where things tend to go

wrong what else do winners do winners get rid

of losers they don't just say hey fuck you you're a loser but they you know the

people that are losers that aren't getting it done that don't have those

types of goals they kind of weed them out of their lives naturally and

organically and head to surround themselves with other winners

you know winners respect the process

there's no shortcuts you gotta respect it a commitment means a commitment right

like if you commit to running a marathon you commit to that shit man you you

gotta get that done one way or another you gotta do the training you gotta do

the eating you gotta do the sleeping you gotta do the goal-setting all of that

and then it's race day you don't just run 22 miles and your calf herds yeah I

got I'd have ran 22 you finished the job no matter what you finished the job

commitment is a commitment and the last thing that he says winners do is apply

these steps to every area of life so you're not just a winner in business

people are not just winners in one area that's why you see some of these people

that are so wealthy and they are running these races or they're

in great health generally maybe they lift weights maybe they do yoga whatever

it may be and they seem to have good relationship with their family and

they're passionate about charity and they just seem like nice overall people

that's because they apply these winning tactics everything there are some people

that are really wealthy and they're dicks and they're in bad shape or

there's people that are in great shape and they don't know how to work business

and don't know how to work relationships but the winners the real winners are

people that can do everything so let me know in the comments below what do

winners do I have a list I'll share with you 25 things that I think winners do

I'll also put that in the comments let me know what I missed

be a winner I'll be back next week with week five and Jesse as I'm fired the

fuck up you already know that check me out subscribe have a great day

be a winner this week out
