The Karma Sutra of GoPro positions on a Cobra car - Duration: 5:16.
Today I'm going to do a quick video on where to place a GoPro or GoPro's suction
mount on a car. When I first did a few car shoots I wasn't really too sure were
the best place to put the suction cup so I thought this might be useful for
people who've not done it before, beginners. And I brought along the Cobra
which you can probably just about see, a little bit of focus in the background,
and I brought that because that's probably the more complicated one to
actually mount GoPros onto. There's less surface area, i.e. no roof and almost
every surface on it is curved so all adds to the complexity and the
difficulty. So it's very quick, it's all demo rather than me chatting so let's
get to it and I'll see you after the intro.
This is the sort of standard option that I have. So a suction mount, it's GoPro's own mount.
And there's multiple options in terms of the little brackets that you
can add to it to give you flexibility. Another example here so I have two it
just makes it easier and speeds up the filming by half
strangely enough having two, strange that maths isn't it?
So I've got a long reach one there with an angle and I've got loads of them
so have a whole little box of goodies here that we can use to do different
mounts and different setups depending on where I need to mount it and what
framing that I need. Okay so let's have a look at a couple of basic setups.
So to put the mount on, it's got a plastic suction cup
press it down where you want it there's a button in the middle here which says
strange enough, 'press'. Press that down you'll see that forces the air out and
then you can put that over, it gives you a nice sturdy mount. And this is on a curved surface
as well. So it's still fairly stable even on the curve of the wheel arch.
To remove, lifted it up and there's a tab on the plastic suction cup which you can just peel up.
The Karma Sutra of the GoPro on a Cobra. As I said earlier if you've got a tin
top then you've got a lot more options in terms of roof space and glass and
what-have-you. A little bit more limited on the Cobra, made worse by the fact
there's no straight panel on it. Anyway there you go. So see you on the next one.
Hopefully, if you'd like this then please consider subscribing. Like. Comment.
All those normal sort of things and see you again. Take care bye

MELYSSA FORD FRACTURES SKULL IN NASTY CAR ACCIDENT ... Claudia Jordan Posts Pic
Hip-hop video vixen and reality TV star Melyssa Ford was badly injured in a car accident this week -- and her good friend, Claudia Jordan, posted a pic from the scene.
The 'RHOA' star shared a photo Saturday of Melyssa lying on the ground surrounded by bystanders after a horrific car wreck she was involved in Thursday.
Melyssa was on travelling an L.A.
freeway when an 18-wheeler clipped her Jeep, flipping her multiple times.Claudia says Melyssa suffered a huge gash on her head and brain bleeding -- adding Melyssa doesn't remember what happened and pleading with witnesses to come forward.
Another friend of Melyssa's, Maryam Iman, notes Melyssa suffered a skull fracture and a concussion on top of the brain bleeding.
Maryam goes on to say that Melyssa's gash was 10 inches, and had to be surgically sealed with staples and stitches.
Both women say Melyssa is lucky to be alive.
The former "Blood, Sweat & Heels" star -- who had a bottle broken on her head in 2014 -- is said to be healing in a hospital under intensive care and constant surveillance.

CAR T-cell therapy - Duration: 2:34.
cancer the mere sound of the word frightens us
first in order to understand the new therapy we need to get to know the enemy
one in two men and one in three women will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime
cancer is a group of diseases involving abnormal growth with a potential to invade or spread
to other parts of the body
this is an immune cell
while our immune system is very efficient fighting pathogens
because cancer is the body's own cells
it is unable to detect the threat
but what if I could tell you that our own immune system can be taught to find cancer
making it just about as dangerous as the flu
with the new CAR T tech it's no longer science fiction
the therapy requires drawing blood from the patient and separating out the T cells
when the immune system is functioning normally immune cells move around the body
to find invaders that do not belong such as bacteria or viruses
these immune cells search for invaders using receptors which can be thought of as antennae
and connect to specific antigens that can be thought of as flags
when receptors find invaders in the body special immune cells respond and destroy them
these immune cells are called cytotoxic T cells
with CAR T therapy we use a disarmed virus to genetically engineer T cells
to produce a special receptor that binds to a certain protein on the patient's cancer cells the
the special receptor is called a chimeric antigen receptor or CAR
once the collected T cells have been engineered to express the specific CAR
they are expanded in the laboratory to hundreds of millions
the final step is the infusion of the car T cells into the patient
one of the most remarkable things about the car T therapy is that it's a living therapy which means the
cells continue on multiplying in the patient's body therefore typically they
only need to be injected once and their effectiveness may even grow over time
studies have shown that 70 to 90 percent of the patients receiving the therapy
are in complete remission
so don't fear the future is here

Peugeot 508 review: the new best D-segment car? - Duration: 11:22.
Isn't it pretty? I'm talking about the car, not the pretty mountain roads.
This is the new 508, Peugeot's flagship until they'll build something bigger.
I don't think they'll do that, but that aside.
They call it the radical berline.
It's a hatchback with five doors, but it's a cool car.
It's completely up-to-date. I like Peugeot does things their own way.
You'd expect that from Citroën.
This is the i-Cockpit 3.0.
What is i-Cockpit? You may not know if you've never driven a Peugeot.
It means a smaller steering wheel.
It's flattened a bit; this is the GT line.
The instrument panel sits above it.
Fortunately, the 508 has no old-fashioned gauges.
This version doesn't and others don't either.
It has a nice screen. You can do so much more with that.
The idea is to look ahead of you, through the windshield.
You don't want to be looking down at the gauges.
They're more in your line of vision like this.
The interior is a nice place to be.
Pretty materials and its own style.
The satnav / infotainment system has a big touchscreen.
It uses TomTom maps, including okay traffic information.
You can find faults with any system.
Other systems have given me unnecessary detours or didn't warn me for a traffic jam.
You're dependent on the info being given in time.
It's a nice interior.
It has a wood finish, depending on the version you choose.
It has a nice Focal sound system with all kinds of speakers, including on the dashboard.
It looks good. It doesn't feel like driving a mass-produced car that isn't premium.
You know what I'm saying.
It feels like it's rubbing against the premium brands.
That's Peugeot's mission; they want to be the best generalist.
They don't want to compete with the three German premium brands,
but they want to be the best of the normal brands.
I'm going to show the outside.
It's not working. Let's step out.
I can't do that while driving. I have to come to a stop first.
It'd be strange to suddenly be outside when I snap my fingers.
Isn't it cool? I think it's an insanely pretty car.
It's really well done, this new Peugeot 508.
I can recite some things about the design.
One thing that stands out, unique for the 508, is its name on the nose.
How many cars have that?
Sure, a GTI badge or an R Design badge, but its name on the nose is rare.
It refers to icons such as the Peugeot 404 and 504.
It's a really cool machine.
The lights are off now, but these are the daytime running lights.
They blink with the turn indicators and become orange.
That's really well done.
A nice thing about this car: successors have been increasing in size.
They're taller, wider, and longer.
This car is shorter, just as wide, and it's lower.
Peugeot says they did something to keep the car low.
Let me open the door.
They used frameless windows.
It doesn't have an upper rim, which supposedly saves five centimeters.
They can lower the car and that looks nice.
This is a GT Line, which looks even cooler.
It does have a diesel engine, so it has two big exhaust tips.
I should fire it up to see the rear LEDs. They're cool.
They're like lion claws.
You can see them from the rear and from the sides.
I like these details. They put thought into this.
It has a nice black continuous line. Porsche Carrera 4 drivers like this.
The Peugeot 508 has it too nowadays.
They call it a radical berline, but it's a hatchback with a huge trunk lid.
Nothing's wrong with that. Let's go for a drive.
This car doesn't set a new benchmark for dynamic handling, but it does well.
It's also comfortable.
Depending on the version you can get an adaptive suspension.
It's standard for the gasoline versions; it's optional for the diesel versions.
It's comfortable. It takes speed bumps well, with few bangs and blows in the suspension.
It doesn't reward you when hooning.
It doesn't punish you either, but it doesn't encourage better cornering.
This is probably because of the car's size.
It's not bad, but a 308 GTI is more fun to drive.
That's logical. This is the GT Line, though.
A number of engines are available.
European manufacturers are cutting down.
They don't offer a huge number of engines anymore.
There are three diesel engines, including the 128 hp 1.5 diesel engine.
That one is available with a manual or automatic transmission.
The manual transmission is the cheapest diesel 508 you can buy now.
It's a little over 37,000 euros.
The 158 and 178 hp 2-liter engines have an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The most fun and probably most popular versions under the European anti-diesel policy
may be the gasoline engines. Both are 1.6-liter turbo engines.
There's a version with 178 hp, from which Peugeot expects the most, and a version with 222 hp.
The fun thing about the 222 hp version...
Two cars with a 1.6 engine on the Dutch market reach the 250 kph (155 mph).
The 308 GTI and this 508 with the 222 hp 1.6 turbo engine.
That's rápido. It does this in the seventh gear of the automatic transmission,
or so the press release tells us.
Right now we're driving the 178 hp diesel version with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
It can reach 235 kph (146 mph). It's a streamlined car.
0-100 kph (62 mph) takes 8.6 seconds.
It's a nice engine, but when driving off it needs some time to spin up the turbo.
I miss the oomph, especially combined with the automatic transmission.
It's quick enough when overtaking.
The Peugeot 508 is based on the new EMP2 platform.
They share this with Citroën. The DS 7 Crossback and other cars use it.
Peugeot is proud of their safety systems, Level 2 autonomous driving...
That's not really autonomous driving, but more of an assistant.
Peugeot didn't come up with that definition.
This means adaptive cruise control with steering support.
In a traffic jam or on the highway you can tell it to stay in between the lines.
It does often ask you to touch the steering wheel, even when I was holding it.
Sometimes it beeps you're not between the lines, but all these systems do that.
So yeah.
This is a problem, don't you think?
A Peugeot... Remembering that Top Gear episode with Jeremy and Co. imitating Peugeot drivers.
That wasn't very inspiring.
I don't know if these are the brand associations in the Netherlands or Belgium.
This is a really cool car, though. Seriously.
Look at it. It's an insanely cool car.
It's pretty, fresh, and modern.
Some rivals look very old-fashioned.
It handles well, so what can be wrong with it?
For the market, only one thing is wrong. It's no crossover.
It's no SUV. Everyone wants taller, bigger cars.
This is different. Still, it makes me enthusiastic.
I don't really like crossovers, but this is spacious enough.
The trunk is 485 liters; very big.
There's plenty of room in the back seats and a power trunk lid.
Gadgets are available, including night vision that warns you for pedestrians 250 meters ahead.
It's nice technology, it handles well, it's relatively economical and fast...
What's not to like?

A Train Totaled This Car With A 3 Year Old Inside But His Mom Said Someone Was Watching Over Him - Duration: 4:52.
michaela Davis watched in horror as a train smashed into her car where her 3
year old son was sitting in his car seat at the end of this nightmarish ordeal
Davis's mother still believed that someone was watching over the toddler
and with good reason Davis held from Duryea a burro on the banks of the
Susquehanna River in Luzerne County Pennsylvania on March 13 2018 she took a
drive with her sister Jenna and her son Camden a three year old who loves
singing and scooby-doo the trio made their way down York Avenue in Avoca
Pennsylvania which is a few minutes away from Davis's home in Duryea
but the normality of their Drive would quickly disappear when they reached a
railroad crossing and most such crossing drivers see flashing lights and hear a
bell about 30 seconds before a train is scheduled to pass through most have
gates to which lower to prevent cars from passing in front of the train this
takes place about 20 seconds before the locomotive appears most of the time this
process goes off without a hitch drivers heed the warning wait for the gates to
rise and safely cross the tracks but there are still approximately 5,800
train car crashes annually in the u.s. the majority of which happened at
railroad crossings according to the Department of Transportation when Davis
drove onto the tracks in Avoca she could not have known that she would soon
become part of this statistic but Davis quickly realized that she her sister and
her son were in danger something was wrong with the crossings gates once the
vehicle was on the tracks the gate in front of her closed which meant that a
train was on its way Davis's sister later told Fox 31
I said back up reverse she reversed but the car was stuck that's because the
back gate was already down according to Jenna we bumped it a little bit she
added and I said we need to get out right now
the adults easily exited the vehicle but three-year-old Camden was still trapped
in the back seat Davis and Jenna moved as fast as they could to free the
three-year-old but his mother tripped over as she rushed toward the back of
the car we don't care if we die at this point
just him we want him to be okay Davis said Jenna arrived at the
three-year-old side first ripping the back door of the car open but she didn't
make it in time the train smashed into Davis's car with the door wide open and
her son still inside I blacked out Davis were called you really do black out all
I remember is trying to get him out and when the Train took the car I blacked
out I blacked out completely I'm thinking my son is dead when Davis
refocused on the scene in front of her she still felt nothing but fear she
didn't want to look at her car and see the aftermath of the crash I thought the
car was going to be on fire or something and my three-year-old is in there
she admitted so it was Davis's sister who made the first move and she didn't
find a burning vehicle my sister said he's crying go get him Davis recalled
and I saw him alive I was just so happy I was so happy - Jenna her nephews
unanticipated tears were the best sound in the world we didn't expect to hear
him cry she said Davis went over there and she got him and that's what i called
9-1-1 emergency services arrived on the scene and found that the three-year-old
was not only alive but also somehow completely uninjured by the crash they
called it a miracle and credited his car seat for protecting him from a tragic
outcome Camden's grandmother maureen Davis echoed the sentiment of the first
responders who deemed her grandson survival to be miraculous they had
somebody with him she said there's no doubt after seeing that car that
somebody was with them as for Davis all she could do was cherish her son after
he'd walked away from the crash unscathed I can't stop hugging and
kissing him she said like all day I just keep hugging and kissing him
he really is my world at the time of the accident the cause of the crash was
unknown but a volka police and railroad police were investigating in some cases
those involved in a train related crash received financial compensation
depending on the reason for the incident although there are typically cautionary
measures in place gates lights bowels and so forth there
are some things that drivers can do to ensure they're safe when crossing a
train track by lowering the music in the windows for
instance they can hear if a locomotive is coming after that the driver should
make sure that all tracks are completely clear before passing through and if the
car happens to stall on the crossing it's best to exit the vehicle straight

Reviewing YOUR Cars In Our Gallery! EP. 3 - Duration: 21:36.
- Hey guys, what's goin' on?
It's Alex from Fitment Industries and today we're bringing
you another episode of From The Gallery, and of course
I have brought the same two individuals from before.
And they are...
- Mario from Fitment Industries.
- And.
- Dom from Fitment Industries.
- And they are the videographer and online analytics
and one of those jobs is much more fun than the other.
But besides that, we're bringing it in with five vehicles
from the gallery that you guys sent to us.
Now remember, if you want your car to be reviewed
in this series, it's very simple.
All you have to do is send us your car in our gallery,
at shop@fitmentindustries.com and the subject line, all it
has to say is review my car, we put it in a list
and then we review it.
It's as simple as that.
Now you guys told us that you wanted us to go up
to 10 points instead of our five point rating system
which, honestly, made a lot of sense,
so I'm glad that you told us.
So this rating system is gonna be out of 10.
I'd probably say anything above a five
is gonna be pretty solid.
If you're breaking that seven to eight number,
you're probably looking pretty good.
So, I have not seen the cars,
Mario I think has seen a couple
and I think Dom has seen a couple.
He's got them up now on his phone, but lets go right into
number one.
- Alright boys, number one, kabam.
We'll start it off right here.
- So it's a 2014 Honda Accord, owner is syko809.
What an Instagram name.
It sounds like a Roomscape name.
Vossen's CVT fronts, 19 by eight and a half plus 32s,
19 by 10 plus 42s
on some little NT555s.
You know, not a bad look.
BC Racing Coilovers running static.
It's not super in your face either.
Can you stop going through the photos so quick?
You're going so fast.
- Here, here, I'll start with this one--
- Yeah, there you go.
Okay, looks like it's a nice, I'd say it's a flush fitment.
It looks pretty good I would say, I like it.
I like it, not too much stretch.
I mean, the two 65s in the rear, definitely really nice
especially with the 10 wide.
So yeah, I think it looks pretty good.
I would probably rate this one, I'd say a six out of 10.
I like it, it's clean, I think the body is still a little
bit stockish, so it'd be cool to see maybe a little bit more
arrow or have that VIPesque style flow through the rest
of the car, but I think in terms of the wheels, tires
and suspension, he's starting with a pretty solid set up.
- And I would definitely have to agree
with Mr. Alex Martinez.
I like the wheels.
It looks VIP-lookish, looking, however you wanna say that.
It reminds me of Kevin's car.
If you guys don't know Kevin's car, we actually did
a vehicle spotlight on it.
So if you guys wanna check that out, you definitely can.
But I would have to give it an eight.
- Oh, an eight. - Eight, ooh.
- Only because the wheels, they're two directional
because I looked it up.
They are two directional.
- Alright, yeah, Vossen does that--
- He's got a good wheel on tire combo in my opinion and
I don't know, I just like--
- Yeah, those NT555s are nice, those are good tires.
Alright, Dom, what's your take on it?
- I love it.
I think that the fitment is really nice all around.
He's not running any crazy camber or any crazy stretch
but the only thing I don't like is the rain guards.
- [Alex] Rain guards? - Rain guards.
- But I'd probably say
I give it a six out of 10.
I like it.
- I didn't even notice the rain guards until now.
I guess if it's more of an aesthetic thing, I always think
that instead of going with rain guards, you should just take
the chrome molding off your window trim and get it tinted
black or something like that or a midnight purple.
If you're trying to hide that a little bit more--
- It looks like it has 70 resin,
so he still has the chrome--
- Yeah, he could do it.
I just think that would look kind of cool.
Alright, moving forward.
- Next car.
- We've had to cut this twice now because Dom was always
telling you guys something.
You can guess what it is in the comments.
- Check this bad boy out.
Holy...
- Boom, I'm dead.
- I'm gonna give this a 10 right off the bat.
- [Alex] 10 out of 10--
- This turns me on, honestly.
I'm not even gonna lie.
- So this is a 2004 Subaru WRX STI
and it's on Rookmeister s13ps, 18 by 11 1/2 Megan 27 offsets
with Federal SS-595s, 255/35s all the way around
and he's on airlift performance.
Wow, okay so the IG's name is macklakin, macklakin,
macklakin, macklakin. - Macklakin.
Alright, cool. - Yep.
Alright, Dom, start it off.
- I love it.
It is absolutely beautiful.
I own a 2015 Subaru WRX, not an STI but that's okay.
I love the wheels, I love the wide body,
it actually looks good.
You get some wide body kits that don't look that good
but I think it looks really good.
And the wheels obviously they are banging.
Fitment is on point.
I love it all around and I'm sure he's got a bunch of mods
as well.
It's on air, too, so that's (bleeping) awesome.
So I give this a 10 out of 10, I love it.
- Mario.
- Like I said, straight 10.
This is something that when I was 16 a couple of years ago,
this is something I dreamt of.
This is when I went to the show, I would make sure I filmed
this car.
I don't know, this is super dope.
I (beeping) love it.
Everything about this, everything--
- It's just so cool.
- Everything is so...
I wish it was here just to, I don't know,
just look at the interior--
- Interior and performance mods.
I wanna know what he has for performance mods.
If you're watching this, drop it in the comments.
- I think that this is a gorgeous car.
I think this is very, very well done.
You know, usually people try to cut corners
when they start going into this stuff.
I just think a lot of people no offense, no offense,
but they start dumping money into the wheels and then the
tires and they get the air ride and then they're like okay,
everything else is gonna be budget because I can't afford
anything else and just judging by the actual bits
and pieces, the arrow that he has on it, the front bumper,
the inner cooler--
- It's the attention to detail.
- Is that he kept on going which is super cool to see.
Last time we did one of these, there was a really nice
Subaru that I didn't rate a full perfect five out of five
but now we're doing 10 out of 10s.
So I think I would give this one a nine and a half
out of 10.
I would give it a nine and a half.
I think it is a beautiful car and extremely well done.
I think it is an extremely good looking car.
Tires are good, wheels are killer, absolutely love
the color.
Point five, I guess I would just say it's a Subaru.
It would be like I said before, it'd be kind of cool to see,
I don't know, something a little more unique
just right from the factory-ish, you know?
- Old school.
- I don't know, I'm a hipster or something.
I don't know what's wrong with me--
- He's got a Supreme sticker, though.
- Yeah, see, that's why you like it.
I love the car.
It's gorgeous, nine and a half, extremely well done, sir.
Beautiful WRX, beautiful STI, definitely appreciate the
taste that you put into that.
Definitely a good color combination.
- Absolutely, amen.
- Yep, very nice.
- Next. - Next car.
- Alright, we got a 2014 Mazda 6 on some Vossen CV7s.
Boys--
- 20 by 10 plus 45.
Toyo Extensa HP 245/35s--
- And it's on air.
- So let's see it from the side shot.
On some Wilwood brakes, too.
- [Mario] That's clean.
- [Alex] That is clean.
That's a clean looking car.
- [Mario] It's like a baller, like another VIP look
which I'm a big fan of.
- [Alex] That one's not aired up, but you're down.
Alright, Mario, you first.
- Just from the first look of it,
I'd probably have to give it a seven only because
I'm not a huge fan of sedans but I'm not gonna lie,
this looks really (bleeping) good.
I keep forgetting I can't swear but this looks really good
especially for a sedan.
I'm more of a--
(bleeping) type guy.
- Hey.
- Hey, no swearing, Jasper has more work to do then.
It'll take him two years to edit this.
- He's an intern, that's what he's for.
- Yeah, I love the wheel choice, tire choice.
Obviously, you can't go wrong with the air.
So what'd I rate this as?
- Seven--
- I'll give it a seven.
- Dom.
- I like it, all around, it's a really good set up.
It's pretty badass and it's on air, the wheels are sick.
The only thing about the wheels though is that whip and that
face of him just screams curb.
That would scare me so much.
- I see what you mean, that almost infinity spoke style.
And that's an older, I believe that's an older design
by Vossen.
I'm not entirely sure, but I think the CV7 isn't actually
produced anymore or isn't produced as much as it once was.
- It's a clean wheel, I love the way it looks, but it's just
that that just scares me so much and it's Vossen's too.
It's not like it's some reps that you can just go ahead
and get a new set for 600 bucks.
- It's clean for a seven spoke.
I think it's a good spinner.
- [Dom] Yeah, for sure. What would you rate it?
- [Dom] I think I give it a six and a half out of 10.
- Yeah, I was gonna go with a six, six and a half
out of 10 as well.
I think it's cool.
I like the body lines of the Mazda 6s,
the newer generations.
I think they're really starting to get that VIPesque style
down especially with the long hood and the low, abrupt hood
to the front bumper is what gives it that almost Lexus,
old school Lexus style look, if you guys know
what I'm talking about.
Seven spoke is always a solid on sedans for the VIP.
Air is nice but of course it's not very well modified past
just the wheels, tires and suspension just yet, so it'd be
cool to see what he continues to do whether he chooses
to go VIP maybe throw in the blinds in there or something
like that, you know. (laughing)
You know, all those little creature comforts in the back
that make a VIP what a VIP is.
- What would it look like if you put Lubers on a Mazda?
- I don't think you can.
- But what if you did--
- Like that, I don't know.
- Like something really sleek, you know?
- I feel like it'd be a little corny in my opinion.
- No, so you can't do that with a VIP.
- Yeah, that's true.
- VIP has the eccentric on the inside.
It's got the clean and simple
on the outside. - Yeah, very.
It's once you roll down the windows that you see
the chandelier hanging from the center--
- And the stars on the roof.
- Yeah, and the PS2 playing in the back.
(laughing)
Hell yeah. - Very true.
Alright, moving forward, next one.
- Alright, the next one is a kaboom.
- So this is a 1993 Volkswagen Passat Wagon, van,
whatever you'd like to call it on some Azev A 17 by 8
plus 38 with some Nankang NS20s, 185/35
Ta-Technix Coilovers.
So, first off, this is definitely a car that you have to
have a taste for because by definition, they're really not
the prettiest looking cars.
I'm sorry, they're just not.
They're not crazy, they're not sporty,
they're not mean looking.
They're soft wagons from the early '90s that Volkswagen made
overseas no less.
So we don't even have them in the States I don't think
and if we do they're extremely rare.
But definitely a cool car, not probably one I would modify
personally, but it's cool.
I'd probably rate it...
It looks like the Ford Escort wagon I had in high school
when I was drifting in the snow.
I had the rear hand brake right in the middle so I could
dump it in a second--
- You can't do that.
- What, high school, I did that stuff all the time.
Those parking lots were wide open at 7 AM.
- Oh, yeah. - That's true.
Thoughts, what would you rate it?
- I would rate it...
I rate it a five and a half out of 10.
I like it a lot in terms of just the uniqueness
of the vehicle and the fact that somebody's going through
and deciding to modify one of these.
I think it's really neat.
They are an extremely rare car.
The wheels are very interesting, too, as well.
You don't see many of those out there.
Tire choice, you know Nankangs are extremely popular
right now but they're not in terms of how good they are.
They're not the best and of course it just kind of looks
like above the coils and wheels is that we're still kind of
working on a couple extra things.
I think when you go into retro style of VW stuff
and wagons and vans and all sorts of weirdly shaped things,
you really have to go at it 110% to really get it to look
that classic VW style.
And the cool thing about the VW community is that it is so
eccentric and there's so much out there
that people have done, but I'm sure whatever this is now,
will look completely different in two years
and that'll be cool to see.
I think right now, though,
that's where I think I would sit.
It'd be a great car to go and get my groceries and stuff
like that. - Cool.
(laughing) Yeah, like a wagon.
Are you judging me, Jasper?
- [Jasper] So hard.
(laughing) - Yeah, judging me
because I don't like the wagon?
I had a wagon.
I had a V7 A4, come on now.
- See, when Jasper came up, he was like...
I actually opened the email and he said, hey review my ride,
blah, blah, blah and I was like, oh, okay, yeah, you know?
And Jasper came up here and he was like, "Dude, dude,
"that thing is rare."
And so I thought that was pretty cool.
It's super rare apparently and it is confirmed it actually
is pretty rare.
Just for it being rare, I give it five points.
I love it because it's a Volkswagen and I'm a Volkswagen guy
at heart because of my father.
Another point, so I'll give it a six out of 10.
- Cool. - Wow.
- I think, I'd right off the bat, I'll probably give it
a seven and I'm not really a Volkswagen or a Euro type guy
or a wagon guy, but the condition that this thing is in
is it looks really mint.
It looks better than my car.
I'm not even gonna lie.
For a '93, that's impressive, so props to you, man.
I'd probably give you--
- It does, it looks really clean.
It looks like there's no rust.
I change mine to a six.
I lied.
It's because I just noticed that I really don't see any rust
on this whole car.
- Yeah, it's super clean.
- Nice.
- Alright, boys-
- Moving forward.
- The last and final one.
- The last one, what is it?
You got your Post-it notes.
- Boom.
- Oh, boy.
We got another Subaru here.
We're comparing Subarus versus Subarus.
And I don't own one. (bleeping)
Alright, you can't swear, remember.
- I know, I'm sorry.
- You can't swear.
- I mean, you can.
- No, you can't.
- All you gotta do is say (bleeping) it, dude.
- Stop, Dominic.
- [Jasper] All the swear words all at once, Dom.
- Nope.
(laughing)
- That's all I got.
- [Jasper] Come on, I need one more bleep here.
Someone's gotta do it.
(bleeping)
(laughing) - [Jasper] Alright.
- [Alex] Alright, so we have a 2017 Subaru WRX STI,
Cosmis Racing, XT-006r,
sunk 18 by 11 plus 8s.
Cosmis has that aggressive offset for the amount of black
one piece which is pretty cool on some Sumitomo HTR ZIIIs,
275/35 on airlift.
So we are looking at a car that also has looks like
an over fender wide bodyesque style done to it
which is making those plus 8s fit.
Alright, I'm gonna let Dom start it off.
By the way, this is...
ruined_sti's 2006 STI.
- So compare this one to yours.
- He's got the IG name--
- Compare this to mine, it's tough, okay.
Why is this tough?
It's tough because there are some wide body kids, Alex has
covered this before, there are some wide body kits where it
just looks incredible and it's just amazing.
- Not yours, Jasper.
(laughing)
- And then this one doesn't look bad.
At first glance, when I saw the fronts, I was like, that
looks really cool, you know, but when you look at it
from the front or from the back it looks really cool,
but then when you get that complete side shot, can you go
to that, Mario?
- Right here?
- Yeah, actually go to that last one.
- This one?
- Yeah, that one right there, I'm just not...
So I'm not a fan of the way that back part looks.
It looks like a big box.
- That's the tough thing with over fenders in general
is those rear quarters are the toughest in my opinion--
- And they can make or break it.
- To make or break it because even if you go to this,
I think it's the second picture here.
- This one.
- Look at how the door handles have to cut in for that
which means when you get those quarter shots, look at how
it sits in terms of the flow.
So the flow has to go away for that rear door handle
to go up and that's the thing that's so tough is because
he wanted to look aggressive but then you have to fit these
over fenders and stuff like that within the fender
of the car.
So with the STI, the front fender actually isn't that long.
It's really short to where you get that first door so that
you have more space in the cabin.
But then what ends up happening is you have the end of the
kit is super long.
So then it almost feels like one side is bigger
than the other.
It's get blocky, one side blockier than the other.
It can be tough, man.
I see a lot of STI kits, different STI kits that are
right on the edge of being just right, maybe a little bit
too much.
- Yeah, it's just tough because that back can make or break
it and usually that's the part where it's just there's such
an issue with it like you said
but overall it's really clean.
I like the wheels.
I like Cosmis Racing wheels and it's on air.
That's pretty cool.
I would probably give this, I'll give this
a seven and a half. - Okay.
Because I love what's done with it but I think I would've
went a little bit different style for the wide body.
- Alright, Mario.
- Well, first off, I love the wheel choice.
The wheel choice is spot on.
Ever since we got these in the shop, I've always loved them.
We've done a couple videos on them.
I'm sure you guys have seen them, but huge fan
of the wheel choice.
- They look really good.
- I think the wide body, I don't think it looks bad
especially for that riveted wide body kit obviously.
I've seen a lot worse.
- True, true.
- [Mario] Yours isn't bad, but other people.
- [Dom] Wow.
- [Mario] Yeah, so I mean I think, I don't know,
I would give this probably an eight and a half.
I love obviously it's on air, I love the wheels.
The wide body in my opinion does not look bad whatsoever.
I don't think it looks as terrible as Dom.
- I didn't say it looked terrible.
I just would've went with a different option.
- Looks like he's got, what, is that the STI?
Is that the factory wing or is that an aftermarket wing?
- Yeah, that's the factory on there still.
- But it looks like it has something on it.
Hold on, where's that picture I just saw?
Maybe I'm just seeing things.
But he has little slits and I think that looks pretty cool.
It adds accents to it.
I'd probably give it an eight and a half.
- Cool. I'm a big fan.
I like the color of the car
and everything. - Yeah.
- I like it because I know how much work goes into those
over fenders and I know how hard it is to get it just spot
on and then to keep it looking like that
is incredibly difficult.
Over fenders are not easy to maintain and what I mean
by that is that a lot of times with kits, you have
questionable quality, sometimes the molds aren't right,
sometimes it just requires fabrication and then you have
bends and if the over fenders aren't lining up properly, you
have bubbles that happen and if you don't gasket seal them,
it's a huge issue and then people will cut holes and then
mess up the holes and put rivets in, the rivets pop out,
they put bigger rivets in and then those rivets pop out
and it's just over fenders are dangerous to some people
but it looks like this guy did it right.
It really does.
And I think even with the boxier rear end
that this over fender kit or wide body kit
if that's what you wanna call it on there
especially with the short front fender over fender kit,
I don't think it looks that bad.
It would be cool to see that front section come into
the front door a little bit more.
But I think in terms of the fitment which is what we're here
to really talk about, the wheel choice was a solid,
the tire choice, not bad and then obviously airlift
suspension is pretty much a given in the current scene
and stuff like that.
So I think it looks really well done.
I think he does a really good job.
The color combination is good.
I like the color combo.
It's looks like the kit really sits well.
I'd probably give it an eight out of 10.
I think it's a good kit, looks like he did a great job
and I'd be interested to see it in person.
It's definitely a killer looking Ibiza.
Plus Cosmis Wheels, I love the guys over at Cosmis.
They just make a solid product and it's cool to see
that they're getting way more popular--
- Bunch of cool dudes over there.
- It's cool to see their wheels on a car that we just
randomly came across through our gallery.
- I do like the color combo, too.
- Yeah, well, 2011 or 2013, but yeah they didn't really
start pushing until a couple years ago.
But that's our five then, right?
- Yeah, that's it.
- Awesome, so that is our five.
Let us know in the comments what you guys think you would
rate these cars and of course let us know what you'd like
to see us cover next.
Now, I will tell you that we will be covering our own
vehicles next month and on top of that, we might even
give you a little bit of an opportunity for you guys
to rate our cars before we even see the comments so that
we can reply to your comments on our cars, and then we can
react to what you guys think because maybe it's time that
we switch the tables a little bit.
You guys can let us know what you think about our cars.
But of course, if you wanna add your car to the gallery,
you can do so, fitmentindustries.com/add and then once you
add it, send us a link, email us
at wheels@fitmentindustries.com.
- Shop@fitmentindustries.com.
- Shop@fitmentindustries.com and then put
in the subject line, review my car.
- Review my car.
- Awesome, but I'm Alex from Fitment Industries.
- I'm Mario.
- And I'm Dom.
- And we'll see you guys later, peace.
- Deuces.

Do You Really Need All That Electric Range? | Roundtable Report | Edmunds - Duration: 8:01.
[MUSIC PLAYING]
SPEAKER 1: With the introduction of the Chevrolet Volt, Nissan
LEAF, and Tesla Model 3, we've got three EVs
with a lot of range.
The question now is, how much range do you really need?
SPEAKER 2: The thing about the LEAF
is it's got the least range of the three.
It's 151 miles.
But for my money, that's enough.
Because it costs money to have a battery with more miles.
And I don't think that with my 90-mile commute,
which is pretty long compared to everybody else in the office--
151 miles has proven to be enough.
I can still do side trips.
I'm the kind of ideal EV owner.
I have a garage.
I can charge at home.
It's full every morning.
So it's not a question of, how many miles
do you drive in a week, which is the typical gasoline
vehicle thinking that I think is leading people to wanting
300 miles of range in an EV.
It's like, no, it's how many miles do you drive in a day?
And for most people, that's like 40.
So 151 miles in a LEAF, it's enough.
SPEAKER 3: Even the Volt's 238 miles of range
is totally sufficient for an apartment or condo
dweller that doesn't have daily access to charging.
But they live in a city, and they can opportunity charge
frequently enough to keep that battery going
for the whole week.
SPEAKER 1: But that's just it.
With these EVs, you kind of have to own a house
if you're going to be charging these things every night.
The Model 3 has enough range where that's not necessarily
a requirement.
So it could be a car that's suited for an apartment
dweller.
And plus, the supercharger network
gives you long-distance driving capability.
SPEAKER 3: Having said that, both the Nissan
and the Chevrolet also have their own fast chargers--
the CHAdeMO for the Nissan and an SAE combo plug for the Volt.
SPEAKER 2: But those networks aren't really
that well-developed.
It's kind of Balkanized.
You can't really go anywhere.
It's just great for local fast charging, but not much else.
SPEAKER 1: Yeah.
And that's why I think the Model 3 can suit someone
as their only car.
With the range, you also get a really practical package.
There's more cargo space in that than probably either
of the other two.
SPEAKER 2: Yeah.
If I had this car or that one, and I
wanted to go cross-country, I would probably
leave it in the garage at home and take my second car.
SPEAKER 3: You'd have to be really dedicated, I think,
for electric vehicles to keep one of these things
as your primary car.
SPEAKER 1: Yeah.
I agree with that too.
I mean these-- as practical as the Model
3 is, it's still got some fundamental limitations
of charge time that you can't get around.
I mean even the supercharger network isn't ideal.
It's great that it's widespread, and they're pretty fast.
But we've encountered situations with the supercharger network
where you're waiting to get on a charger
because there's other people already there.
That's become a real problem as more and more Teslas
are getting on the road.
SPEAKER 2: Right.
And the network's really big.
And it's developed across the country.
But it's along major interstates.
And so if you want to kind of go off the grid, you really can't.
An internal combustion engine or an SUV,
you can go kind of anywhere you want because gas stations are
everywhere.
SPEAKER 3: We are talking about a very low use case scenario.
I think we have to remind ourselves
that these cars, for the most part,
they're just going to be used in town on the daily commute.
And I think for that, they're all pretty dang good.
SPEAKER 2: Almost everybody I know
could have at least one EV in their garage.
If they have another car for longer trips, that's perfect.
SPEAKER 3: So is there a substantive answer
on just how much range an EV should have?
SPEAKER 2: I get back to 151 miles.
I mean I don't know if that's the right number.
But it certainly seems to be enough.
And I think that because it has that DC fast charger,
I can do quick top-ups if I need to.
That works.
I mean I don't think I need to spend another $10,000
to get another 75 miles of range or another $20,000
to get another--
I don't know.
I can't do the math real fast--
150 miles of range.
But I mean that's what it amounts to-- dollars and range.
SPEAKER 1: Another factor with range
that we haven't really talked about a whole lot
is the rated range of the vehicle versus what
we can get in the real world.
We've found that with the Chevy and the Nissan
that it's easier to surpass the rated range
than it is with the Tesla.
So while the Tesla has a higher number on the window sticker,
it's harder to overachieve that than it is--
I mean you can really get much more range out of the Volt
than what it's rated for.
SPEAKER 2: I've soft-pedaled the Volt
and gotten 334 miles out of a charge.
And I had 16 left when I plugged in.
I think I could do close to 200 with a LEAF in my slow commute
on the freeway, which is like 35, 40 miles an hour.
It's kind of perfect for an EV.
In the same conditions, it doesn't--
I haven't been able to match the Model 3's range.
So there's something different about the way
that car is rated that means that I kind of almost
think these could go further.
At least the Volt probably could in a side by side
test, even though on paper it looks
like it doesn't stand a chance.
SPEAKER 3: Do you think the regenerative
braking aspects of the Volt and the LEAF
might have something to do with that versus the Model 3?
SPEAKER 1: Yeah, definitely.
The Model 3 being rear-wheel drive
is limited on how much regen you can get,
which means that you're not recovering as much energy
in these slow-and-go city driving situations that you'd
get in a Volt or a LEAF.
SPEAKER 2: Absolutely.
SPEAKER 1: And also, you had an experience
driving the Volt on a steep climb and then downhill, right?
SPEAKER 2: Yeah.
I went up to this place called Crystal Lake, which
is a place at the top of a mountain.
And on the way down, it's all nice, cool, twisty, tight,
mountain road driving.
And I actually had a better time in the Volt
than I did in the Model 3, primarily because of the regen.
It's front-wheel drive.
All the regen's on the front axle
where you want your braking.
And it was really easy to control.
In the Model 3, the regen's on the rear.
But you want your braking on the front.
So I was using the brake pedal more.
It was just not as fun or engaging.
Because lift throttle regen, it turns out,
isn't just about efficiency.
It's also pretty cool.
And it's a lot of fun.
And so these front drivers here actually have an advantage.
Now, when they get to an all-wheel drive Model 3,
then that might change.
Because now they'll be able to regen on the front axle.
It's more about that for me with the all-wheel drive
Model 3 than acceleration.
SPEAKER 3: I'm looking forward to the LEAF's bigger battery.
The stock one, the current one, comes
with a 40-kilowatt battery.
Rumor mills say that a 60-kilowatt battery
will come soon, which should get it close to the Volt's range.
SPEAKER 2: Yeah.
SPEAKER 3: And I think a lot of owners that can only
have one car, whether they're in a home or a condo
or an apartment that you can't charge every day, that might
be the best, the sweet spot.
SPEAKER 2: Yeah.
I'm just wondering what that's going to do to the price.
Because obviously that's going to cost a lot more
to have that much more battery.
I don't know where they're going to put it.
So it may intrude into the cargo volume someplace.
So I don't know what that would look like.
So I'm in wait-and-see mode for that.
SPEAKER 1: If you own a house, and you have frequent charging
opportunities, 150 miles of the LEAF is plenty.
SPEAKER 3: Yeah.
SPEAKER 2: Seems like it for me.
I think the only place where that might be different
is if you live someplace where it's cold,
like in the northern United States.
And I think that's where the 238 miles of the Volt
really comes into its own.
Because EVs aren't as efficient when
they're driven in cold weather.
It's the charging.
But it's also running the heater all the time.
It's an electric heater, so it's using your battery just
to keep the temperature right.
That may change it.
I mean this-- we don't live where it's cold.
It's 75 degrees here pretty much every day.
So that doesn't enter into it.
But if I lived in Michigan, maybe
the LEAF would not have enough range for me.
SPEAKER 1: Yeah.
With the cold weather, maybe having 150 miles just
isn't enough.
SPEAKER 2: It might feel a little bit more
like-- you might start using the words range anxiety again,
whereas this one with 238 miles, maybe it's insulated from that.
SPEAKER 3: Sounds like around 150 miles
seems to work for everybody.
And I think the main thing we need to tell our viewers
is that the way you approach an electric vehicle
is just fundamentally different than a gas car.
Wouldn't you guys say?
SPEAKER 2: Yeah, for sure.
SPEAKER 3: I mean the main thing is
is you can charge an electric car every day.
So it's more about the daily range than the weekly range.
And the reality is I think most people are totally
fine with 150 miles every day.
