How to make the synth sound from Toto - 'Africa' in DRC - Duration: 3:45.

Hello, this is Lucas Palmeira from Imaginando, and I'm here to give you another tutorial on DRC.

Today, I'm gonna show you how to make the synth sound from the internet's favourite song:

'Africa' by Toto So let's start with DRC on a default patch

Okay, I'm gonna start by raising the second oscillator [OSC 2] to the same volume as the first one [OSC 1]

Now I drop one octave and de-tune it [FINE] (0.125)

Okay now we go to the second envelope generator [EG 2] that modulates cutoff frequency

and we raise it to this value (0.7) and we drop the CUTOFF to about

Now we go to the first envelope generator [EG 1] that modulates the the amplitude and we raise the attack to about here (0.52)

Now we go to the second envelope generator [EG 2] which modulates the filter,

and we raise the ATTACK to about here (0.15)

We also raise the DECAY to about here (0.5)

And we drop the SUSTAIN a bit to about here (0.3)

Now for a little bit of REVERB, increase the AMOUNT to about here (0.275)

DECAY to here (0.68)

I Think we might have it...

Yeah, I think we have it, so let's now listen to the melody that I've played before

And let's listen...

And...

This is it. I hope you have enjoyed this tutorial, don't forget to subscribe to Imaginando's YouTube channel,

And I will see you again next week. Goodbye.

❗️ TRUTH: Live the Laptop Lifestyle 2018 | How to MAKE IT HAPPEN! - Duration: 5:20.

hey guys so I am alive from some sort of truck stop and I actually have no idea

where I am so I stopped off and figured that we

would use it's time to talk about how to live the laptop lifestyle every single

day so that you're creating a business that create gives you the freedom so

that you can travel but then you're actually traveling because I find a lot

of people work really hard at building a freedom business but then they never

actually are free and I used to personally I used to make the excuse

that I had this sick cat so I wasn't able to travel because my cat was sick

now for those of you who know that one of my favorite books is you are a badass

at making money by Jensen chair oh and one of the first chapters she talks

about how she also used the excuse that she had a cat so she couldn't travel and

it really hit me hard that I built this whole business but then I wasn't

actually traveling so I I wanted to share with you guys what I did to create

the freedom to travel even though Mike Addison even though I was in the middle

of a launch so you can create these things for yourself so what did I do to

actually get some freedom in my business even while I was in the middle of a

launch as I first started by booking my trip first so that was the first thing I

did so book the trip figure out the details after book the place that you

want to go so that you have motivation to actually do something to get there

rather than saying someday I'll go there someday I'll book that trip someday I'm

gonna travel there that someday never comes so I really was complaining a lot

about how freezing cold it was in Toronto and how I really wanted to go

golfing so what did I do I booked a golf trip to Pinehurst which

is one of the famous golf courses in North Carolina and it's only 12 hours

away from where I live so I actually drove because in the back of my mind I

was like well what if something happens to my cat and so I drove there I booked

the trip and then I found the cat sitter after now I know maybe I'm crazy but I

my dad is like my baby so I know if you have kids you're

thinking what what if how am I going to find help for that

if you booked the trip and then it becomes a non-negotiable to find the

sitter to find someone to take care of the kids that's essential so booked the

trip first then figure out the details so I found an amazing cat sitter she was

better than I ever could have imagined in fact my cat did get sick while she

while I've been away and she handled it beautifully so there are people that can

help you there are people that can support you there are people who will be

able to stand in for you then when you're really busy when you're

often when you want to go outside when you want to go golfing when you want to

be traveling when you want to be sightseeing when you want to be

exploring or enjoying the Sun and not on your laptop that's a really great

motivator for you to get your work done really quickly so if you become a lot

more efficient when you're away and let's be honest I did sell take calls I

did still have clients I still did do some work but because I had a limited

amount of time to do it it was a lot more efficient and I always scheduled it

in so I knew exactly when I would be doing that work so I did it in the

evenings I also in between rounds I also did a podcast interview so I brought my

microphone with me even right now I little I brought a little selfie stick

so that it wouldn't be as shaky although it's a little bit shaky stuff so you can

create things that will help you I brought my laptop I stopped at a

Starbucks to do work because they have free Wi-Fi and the place where I stayed

had high-speed Internet so make sure you have high-speed Internet book the trip

first figure out the details but bring your equipment the equipment that you

can bring with you in order to make it a smooth trip in order to still be able to

do your work you don't have to fully be away but you also fully don't need to be

working and it gives you a great reason to work more efficiently that was how to

do it is get high speed internet hire some help to support you bring your

equipment figure out the detail doctor book the trip first and then what you

can do now is to think about what do you really want to do what could you do as a

baby set like this was like me taking a little bit of time off because like I'll

be honest I didn't take a lot of time off

much of any time off while I was building my business that's okay because

in the beginning stages it takes more work more momentum but now I have some

momentum I can hire help to help me and support me in doing that so that I can

live a little and have more freedom so create a business that gives you the

freedom have systems outsourced and then look for how can other people or other

things support me in getting more freedom in doing the things that I built

my business for like what are the reasons that maybe you guys wanted to

build your business are you traveling are you having the freedom are you

staying home with your kids are you putting your kids in daycare are you

going to more events are you speech doing speaking engagements if you're not

doing that then you're creating a business and you're not actually reaping

the benefits this is possible

How to Build a Giant Pyramid Using Mega Bloks Mini (or Lego Duplo) - Duration: 3:02.

Hello, and welcome to Silly Boy Toys!

Today, we'll be making a pyramid out of Mega Bloks mini, or Lego Duplo if you have some.

So first of all, get a nice flat surface to work on and find as many 2x2 pieces as you

can.

They'll be used at the top of the pyramid.

The smaller pieces we'll use at the top of the pyramid.

Okay.

Next, we want to find some 2x4 pieces - the larger bricks.

Get as many of them as you can.

They'll be used for the foundation of the pyramid - the bottom of the pyramid,

because they're stronger and bigger.

And find some decoration, so some people, some doggies, a flag to put on top.

Whatever you can ... whatever you can find.

So let's get started.

So start with your smaller pieces first and create each layer one by one.

Now, we're only going to put bricks on the outside of the layer.

We're not going to build into the centre of the pyramid - just the outside as you can

see here.

It's best to start from the top, because if you start from the bottom, you don't know

how many bricks you're going to need.

From the top, you can just keep building until you run out of bricks.

So as you can see here, we haven't got enough 2x2's to complete the next layer, so we'll

hang on to them for later.

Now let's do out 2x4 ones - the bigger bricks.

Same thing, just go around the outside ... doing each layer.

Keep going until you've run out of bricks.

One more layer I think I can manage.

Oh oh, I need one more brick.

That happens to be a Lego.

That's the only Lego Duplo block that I use in this pyramid.

And there we go, we've completed the main structure.

But we've still got these spare 2x2's, haven't we?

Well, we can go ahead and make a tower - make a spire on top of the pyramid.

So keep putting them on until you run out.

And finally, we can stick the flag on top!

There we go.

Looks nice.

So let's put our decoration on.

Put the people up there.

The doggies.

Just balance them on however you wish.

The boy.

And there we have it!

Our completed pyramid.

What a marvel!

And that was Mega Bloks pyramid.

If you've enjoyed this video, don't forget to like and subscribe.

This is Silly Boy Toys.

See you next time!

Bye!

How to Make a Workbench Episode 8 | Paul Sellers - Duration: 27:47.

we're ready to start the recess for the vise we've got some layout to do first

we got this all together it's feeling like a bench it feels really solid the

Vise will add a lot of weight this is a beefy vise it's a nine-inch vise a great

vise I start my layout I've got my wedge on the underside if you remember on the

inside of the leg I want to avoid hitting that with the recess so I'm

going to come 15 inches that's what mine is measure yours that give me one inch

clear of the wedge on the inside square a line down from there that gives me some

advices going in this area here I want my width of my wide vise there's

a temptation here to that's nine inches wide there's a temptation to make

everything exact with no gaps it's a mistake to do that you want a little

wiggle room when you start loading this vise in there so I'm making my opening

nine and a quarter because it's not going to be seen anyway

square the line down and then we need to measure up probably try and use my

square if I can push this till it reaches the underside of the bench top

make sure it's the same all the way across that gives me the exact position

of the underside of my top that's there just to give me an indication of where

it's going but the actual depth that I'm going to make my recess is going to be

I've got exactly three and a half so I'm going to come down from the top three

and a half that was just to show me where the underside of the bench top is and

then I'm going to add an extra sixteenth below that because I want a gap between

the very top of my vise jaw and here I want a gap of about 1/16 to 1/8 of an

inch because that way I'll never catch the

Vise with my plane so here I'm pulling the line across here but I'm going to

come off the bench top just in case something's out of parallel that was the

last-minute thought then I realized so here just pull that line across and

there's my cut line for the main recess now we have to start measuring the

actual vise because it's got some added mechanisms in there I want the distance

from this button when we squeeze this this button pops down when you open the

vise that has to be accounted for too so I'm going to eyeball this looks like I

can come down four and a quarter inches from that top line and each vise is

different so you have to be aware when you buy your vise there's my bottom

where the little plunger comes down these are usually generally 45 degrees

I'm actually going to take this 45 degrees from again I'm working through

this as I'm doing this because they all are different so there is the bottom

this is the top of my vise so probably four and a quarter down here

4 and 1/4 here take your square marker 45 degree from there you can always go

in and alter this later this is the simplest way and I think it's perfectly

effective and it gives enough room inside here to make sure there's room

when you're installing the vise itself so that's basically my recess so it's

from here to here and I may end up cutting a little section out here but I

want to try this first so the first thing I've got to do is get my saw into

this wood one way I liked was to drill holes along this line here they didn't

have to be particularly neat

I just want something that will get a start for my saw and then I can slide my

rip saw my panel saw into here let's see if that's enough we can pair down this if we

need to later to trim it

on the sides I'm just going to go back to my brace and bit but you could still

you could do the same as we just did bore out this corner

and then we can chisel out don't press too hard just make it so it just cuts

through the surface fibers on the opposite side if you press too hard

it'll break the underside I know nobody will see it

and you can like I said I'm gonna go back with my drill again now just to get

down this edge so I can get my Saw in

don't put too much pressure on your drill bit there little snap

a little bit tedious but we can do it nearly through .

micro adjustment

just when we thought we couldn't do it we got it hopefully a little bit of chisel

work again I'm just gonna break this off somewhere here take this down that's the

bulk of the hold on there maybe some micro adjusting here next let's try this

in see how close we were looks great so that's it the vise fits in the hole it's

got a little bit more finessing to do some packing to do but that's all part

and parcel of it we'll soon have this vise in the works in the ready and ready

to start working in it

once you've cut your whole recess it is easier if you can turn this upside down

like I've done put it on the staging you've got access to it is my vise I

haven't trimmed the hole at all yet and probably I'm looking at it now and I

don't think I need to I have cut a shim here and this is the packing you could

use a multiple layer you can use 3/4 inch plywood you can use quarter inch

plywood whatever you need to get the vise where it needs to be I want it to

miss the block to miss this wedge but that's basically it so I'm ready I've

got my vise set 1/8 of an inch below the rim of the bench a 16 to 3/16 would be

fine so I'm going to screw that block into place right where it is because

this is the main anchor here for the vise just some decent length screws make

sure you put the screws away from where you're going to be drilling the hole for

the Coach bolts that hold the vise I'm just going to the extreme outer edge and

you can glue this block if you want to

it's up to you I'm going to glue mine because it makes it a unit then it helps

it to seat

and some decent screws and that's it so they're from that point you'll notice in

here that there are two u holes here and two back here generally you can't

get to these they're very difficult to get to unless you cut more out of your

apron I choose not to I've worked out a way that works great I've had my vices

done this way for years not just years but for decades Center your vise into

the recess like this and mark the u here that'll give you the position to drill a

pilot hole in here to receive the main shank of your coach bolt here so I've

taken this drill bit so it still has plenty of bite on the threads when it

goes into the wall so in the center of that arc

drill a hole that's deep enough to take the bolt and you can actually drive

these most of the way I've got a washer on here so I'm going to send this in so

that it's almost to the height I need

surprising how little of ice needs once it's locked in place because it's really

always forcing against itself most of the time back jaw against the front jaw

so on what we're going to do is we're going to slide the vise in here and

then we're going to screw through the back jaw of the vise into the face of

the edge of the bench and that will be the vise nicely anchored

that's great that was just half a turn yeah to the right height that one little

awkward to get in with a crescent wrench I want this fairly tight because I'm

gonna stand the bench up next with this in place so I'll cynch it but I won't

over tighten it yet because I want the front bolts that I put in to push this

tight against the face of the vise tight against the face that's it

it's safe I believe so now I need to turn this onto its back face

and hopefully over on to the other side let me see not easy on your own but you

can do it if you're careful so here we go I'm going to open my vise, it's a heavy

vise man just like this now I want to make sure this is ready to receive

those two bolts I'm gonna put my bit in here and then the big question is

whether I can get the knots onto the head to drive these

I might just be able to make it perfect so I only just made it in there but only

just as enough if not just cinch it down with a that one doesn't want to go take

it down with one of these crescent branches just starts off and then finish

up with the knot driver, not that way that's it, that seems very solid to me so that's it your

vise is fitted it's installed now we just have to do the jaw liners few

little details on that but this is so exciting we've got a workbench with a

vise in place

a little bit of cinching here and now I'm gonna roll this over if I can into

its legs and the next thing is I've got to level the apron to the bench top

clean up the bench top not complicated and make sure it's as true as I can

get it so I've got to come along here rest my plane on the bench and start

swiping off this surface here get it ready this is the reason I wanted this lower too - I'm going

to take out any undulation I'm going to check it with winding stick to make sure

it's flat make sure this lines up with this that kind of thing and that gives

me a flat bench top to begin my new career on this is my work bench

I plain both with the grain and then across the grain with the plain angle

that about 45 degrees or even more sometimes I'm pulling the plane towards

myself this might seem unusual but this enables me to plane with the grain

instead of against rising grain which occurs as I'm planing this saves time

and effort turning the wood end for end or altering my whole body I check the

surface with my plane as I go just tilting my plane and seeing how the

corner lines up across the grain I also use winding sticks and a long straight

edge too I'm checking all the time it's important to make sure the opposite

apron is also level so I use the straight edge across the bench top onto

the other apron a few strokes with the plane on the corners removes the iris so

two or three strokes and and there I've got the iris off using a file on the

short ends of the apron works well too in some places surface tear-out can

often be removed with a newly sharpened cabinet scraper the final step is to

sand all the main surfaces before I apply some finish
