Well the holidays are over but I'm gonna be showing off the haul of stuff I got --
mostly keto related stuff -- for the holidays,
starting now. Hey, guys! Welcome to A.D. Keto. My name is Aaron. This is the
channel where we talk about the ketogenic diet. I do some keto food vlogs,
we talk a little bit about keto science, and I do some keto recipes. If

content. So guys, the holidays came and went like a tornado. Over before I knew
it. But I did receive some very nice, thoughtful gifts from my family, that
were all sort of either keto-related or fitness-related, and I thought I'd just
show them off to you, because I like all these things. They're pretty cool. My mother,
who some of you met a few weeks ago (right up here), she sent me a book called
An Avocado a Day. It's kind of a cookbook. 70 recipes in here. Not all of them
Keto-Specific, but I figure there's something in here -- I haven't really gone
through this yet -- but I figure there's something in here that'll work for me.
There are 70 recipes. An avocado a day. That was the first thing I got. A lot of
avocado related stuff. I think that's the default people go to when they know
you're doing keto. [My mom] got me this avocado saver, which basically lets you
save half of the avocado, like fasten it, strap it in here. If you have cut it
right in half and use half of it, you can save the other half of it so it doesn't
go bad. I don't know how much use I'll be getting out of this, because I tend to
use... I can't remember ever using half of an avocado. I usually use the whole thing.
But super-thoughtful. So thank you, Mom. Wifey also got me this Good Grips 3-in-1
avocado tool. 'It splits, it pits, and it slices" avocados, and I've got to be honest,
the first thing I thought of when I received this gift was a banana peeler
that I purchased back in the day. It was a silly purchase. I saw it in a store, and I
was like, "oh, look! It splits bananas really easily!" If you have some time to
kill, and you want to laugh, look up on Amazon: Hutzler 571 Banana Slicer, and if
you look at the "answered questions", people have gone insane, and this thing
has turned into a complete meme. Just look at some of these: "I bought one of
these, and from the day I set it down in my kitchen, my bananas have stopped talking
to me. What now?" "Can this be used on cucumbers?" "Um, no. This is yellow. Bananas
are yellow. Cucumbers are green. You would need to purchase a green one for
cucumbers." Just... there's so many ridiculous comments in here. Let's see if
I can find my favorite one. Oh, it might actually be a comment. But if you go to
'customer reviews' of this thing, one of the funniest things I've ever read is
Mrs. Toledo's review of this. The name of the review is: 'Saved my marriage'.
That's all I got to say. It's ridiculous. So if you've got some time to kill, and you want
to get a good laugh, look up "Hutzler 571 Banana Slicer" on Amazon. Ridiculous. So
that's what I thought of when I got this. Unfortunately, or fortunately maybe for
me, I looked this up on Amazon as well. It has not been meme-ivied. This seems to be
a legit tool that people enjoy using, and get some use out of. So, haven't opened it
yet. I'm looking forward to using this. And then the other cooking implement
that I was really hoping I would get for Christmas, I got. And it's this is heavy
cast-iron skillet. I've been using it every day since I got it. It's a thing of
beauty. Heats up so evenly, holds heat so well. I've done a ribeye in it. It is
glorious. I'm gonna put a link to all these things
down below, if you want to check them out. But this is such a great pan. I've needed
one for a long time, and I finally got one. My favorite. And then I got a
couple of fitness-related things. My wife also got me these resistance bands from
Fit Simplicity. They're multicolored, sort of... resistance bands that you can use if
you're working out. I've been known to do 21-Day Fix. I do that workout sometimes,
and they'll tell you that if you don't have weights to try to use resistance
bands. It looks completely complicated to me. I feel like I would fall all over
myself using those resistance bands, but I'm going to give it a shot, if for no
other reason than they're super-colorful, and look like they could be fun. So that
was one of the fitness things I got, and then the other Fitness things I received
are these guys, right here. I've needed some heavier weights. I have just tiny,
tiny weights in my house, that don't really do the trick for me at the moment.
So it was nice to get those thirty-pound dumbbells
from my my in-laws. So that'll be helpful. And then the big thing that I got, that I
was super-excited about, the thing that I wanted more than anything this year, was
this book. The Art and Science of Low Carbohydrate Living by Phinney and
Volley. You've probably heard of this. This is the book to get if you're considering
Keto, if you have people in your family who are concerned that you're starting
Keto, point them to this book. It's written by two doctors who know what
they're talking about. They talk about the history of low-carb, the history of
the standard American diet, and how we kind of have gotten to the place where
we are today, with obesity at its, you know, highest levels ever. They talk a lot
about that in here, and they talk about low-carb and keto. A definite must-read
if you're doing keto. Again, link to this below. So that was the haul for me for
for the holidays. I was really excited that everyone in my family seems to know
me. They got me some good keto stuff that...that I really enjoyed. There's one other
thing I want to talk about in today's video, and that is that if you are
