Veteran In Wheelchair Hit By Car, Knocked Unconscious, But Hero Dog Isn't About To
Leave Him
There's a reason dogs have earned the reputation of "man's best friend."
They are unfailingly loving and loyal, even when they are not shown the same love and
loyalty in return.
When we are down they want to cheer us up, when we are in danger they are by our sides
ready to do what it takes to keep us safe.
We have heard many stories of heroic dogs doing amazing things, but if there was a Man's
Best Friend winner, Endal might just take home the prize.
When the Labrador retriever was born, it was soon discovered that he suffered from a lifelong
debilitating joint condition called osteochondrosis in both of his front legs.
While this put his suitability to be a service dog into question, his high intelligence and
problem-solving abilities allowed him to qualify.
Endal became the service dog for Allen Parton, a former member of the British Royal Navy
who served in the Gulf War.
Parton was in a car accident that rendered him disabled and confined him to a wheelchair.
He also lost about 50 percent of his memory and had difficulty making new memories.
For a while, he was even unable to speak.
Endal quickly filled in the gaps for Parton.
He could retrieve items Parton needed based off of simple signals.
For example, if Parton touched his face, Endal knew to grab his razor.
The intelligent dog also learned how to pull items off the shelves at supermarkets, help
with the laundry, and use an ATM.
He even learned how to pull the plug in the bath if Parton fell unconscious and then use
the phone to call for help!
But it was one heroic moment in particular that really shot Endal to fame.
One day while they were out, Parton was hit by a car.
The force of the hit threw him out of his wheelchair and knocked him unconscious.
Emergency personnel who later arrived at the scene said Parton would have been at risk
for much worse injuries had Endal not been there.
The heroic dog dragged Parton to safety and positioned him into the recovery position.
He found Parton's cell phone and pushed it into his hand, retrieved a blanket from
under the wheelchair and laid it over Parton, and then ran to a nearby hotel and barked
until someone came to help.
Because of Endal's heroic actions that day, Parton's life was spared.
In November 2002, Endal was awarded the People's Dispensary for Sick Animals (PDSA) Gold Medal
which is given to non-military animals in the U.K. who "assist in saving human or
non-human animal life when his or her own life is in danger or through exceptional devotion
to duty."
Only 18 animals – all dogs – have received this award since its creation in 2001
Endal's heroism and subsequent fame led to him being an ambassador for service dog-related
training and charities.
Sadly, in 2009, Endal passed away at the age of 13 after suffering a stroke.
He is buried at Ilford PDSA Animal Cemetery along with many of the other dogs who were
also awarded the prestigious PDSA medal.
Though Endal is no longer with us, his bravery and heroism will not be forgotten and his
legacy will live on.
In the final nine months of his life, Endal helped mentor a Labrador puppy named Endal
Junior (or EJ for short).
While EJ has some pretty big shoes to fill, he is carrying on Endal's legacy in a way
we're sure would make his predecessor proud.

Police said they received reports of gunshots being fired early Sunday at Ed's Car Wash
in the Melcroft community of Saltlick Township, about 90 kilometers southeast of Pittsburgh.
The victims were identified only as three men and two women in their 20s and 30s and
another person was said to have been injured and taken to hospital.
Police say they have no motive yet for the shooting, though family members of the victims
say a domestic dispute spurred the violence.

it's time for mechanics Monday, welcome to my new segment mechanic Monday, every
Monday I'll be getting back to you guys by hosting a giveaway, where I'll be giving
away tools and Auto products that I've tested out, and today's giveaway is this
1000 watt power inverter, now it might be raining outside, but that isn't going to
stop me from giving stuff away, and still explaining how things work, power
inverter does one thing, it's a transformer that changes voltage from
one to another one that you need, in this case, it takes a 12-volt power of a car
battery, and transforms it into a hundred and twenty volts, so it can run power
tools, or laptop computers, this quality unit has 220 volt receptacles, and also
two USB ports, so you can use it to charge up your phones too in a pinch, now
when you do get a power inverter, you want a good one like this, this one's
heavy, a lot of metal in it, and it has two cooling fans, one in the front and
one in the back, you got to have that so they don't overeat, because in the
process of transforming electricity different voltages, there is some heat
given off, so you got to have one that has good cooling units built into it, now
this particular one was 65 bucks, and it's a thousand watts, you also have to
realize your power usage, if you want more, you can get a 1,500 one for like 86
dollars, if you're going to use a lot of power, you get a little bit heavier one, you
don't want to buy a really cheap one and try to overuse it or it'll melt, make
sure the unit is fused, this baby has four separate fuses, it's a serious
machine, it's not just some piece of junk that's got one little fuse to do the
whole thing, which is going to blow all the time, now most guys they like portability,
so they just get one of these, use the clamps that go on the battery, then they
can use it whenever they want, and if you're doing serious long-term work,
start the car, and then guess what, your car is now
turned into a generating station, and it's making power and you can run it as
long as you want, in this case the alternator is generating 12 volts, that's
charging up the battery, then the battery send in 12 volts to the power inverter,
which can turn into 120 volts, and drive all your appliances, this thing is rated
high enough, it even runs my electric chainsaw, if you want you, could wire
permanently to the car, it has good connectors here, you just get wiring and
you'd wire negative to the negative battery terminal, and positive to the
positive battery terminal, just realize you need to use really thick gauge
wiring, because there's a lot of power in this you, could wire that right inside
the vehicle and then mount it wherever you want, but most guys, they like the
portability having a clamps, then they can take it wherever they want and
running off of any car or truck battery, and if they need a lot of time just
leave the engine running, as you can see, it's got really nice solid mounting
brackets, so you could mount it wherever you want, but me, I like the portability
of this, I can put it in any car any trip anytime I need it, just clamp it in and
away you go, so if you're looking to get a 120 volt power out of your car or truck,
now you know how an inverter works, and remember to have a chance to win these

My car has been stolen - FL66 AUT - Duration: 5:30.
hi everyone so yes my car has been stolen this is not a prank this is not a
wind-up I woke up this morning this is Sunday the 28th of January 2018 and I
looked out the window and my car wasn't there it was just a pile of glass where
my car used to be and my car has been stolen so I'm making this video and
first of all safe anyone sees my vehicle around please call the police and let
them know now I put the registration number on the screen I know that you
know they've probably changed the plates whatever by now but if you do see that
vehicle being driven around anywhere please contact the police as soon as
you're safe to do so I do wanted to tell my peoples as well
that I am getting a spare car quite soon and I should have a car here tomorrow or
Tuesday so lessons won't be interrupted but if anyone if you see anyone driving
around in my vehicle now this is what I find quite weird it has been spotted
since it was stolen and it's apparently got the roof sign on so someone is
pretending to be an instructor pretending to be me or to work for me
maybe please be aware that is not me that is nothing to do with me whatsoever
if you see my car being driven around today racing around or you know driving
badly or whatever that's not me that's nothing to do with me and if you go off
for lessons if anyone comes knocking on the door or we know anything like that
please come to the police immediately because not me I have not authorised
anyone to do lessons on my behalf it's probably the person who's stolen it now
if you were people of mine don't worry because I don't keep people's details in
my car there's nothing they'll know about you so nobody will know where any
people's live or anything like that but yes so should be back to normal soon
now we're also going to be releasing a series of videos from tomorrow about you
know car crashes and road rage and all that I don't think it's the best time to
be doing that so there may be another video comes out instead I did actually
make one ironically I was making a video just before my car was stolen and in
that video I actually talked about cars being stolen
it's how how ironic is that I am aware the person who stole my car may well be
watching this video because yes I had my roof sign in the boot
things are that and I do want to point out one thing if people are going to say
what's this some kind of revenge attack or is it because someone didn't like my
videos it's nothing to do with that the reason of studies I actually moved
house about seven months ago now and if you know if you watch some videos
regularly I moved seven months ago and no one knows where I live I actually
forgot to change my address I've changed my license and that kind of thing my
insurance and all that's okay but I forgot to change my dress on my website
and I just never got around to changing it so if you tried to find out where I
live if you don't even know where I live so now this was not some kind of
targeted attack of anything now that the police have said it's most likely just
some chancer passing by or he could have been stolen to order because if you
don't know the first two I had was a top-of-the-range bet you can get one he
was a titanium X with all the extras fitted so he could have installed and
you know to order if someone see me driving around and been on the website
seeing it or whatever and maybe they've just driven past and seen parked
somewhere but anyway yeah so just wanted to let you all know if you do see the
car let me know let the police know not me so yeah I'm just currently sitting
around deciding what to do I've got a right and find out where they've only
toward you in your car because I'd like to have that one back but if he doesn't
come back that police stuff said you know you may
not get it back well I'm gonna have to have another one I was supposed to
Avenue one in October anyway so I might end up having a near one sooner but I'd
much rather than just get my old one because you know I don't know which car
I'm going to have so if I'm now kind of starting to look at which car would have
to order if he comes to that but yeah so just waiting today you will know that
and the registration number of my car will have been up on the screen now if
you've seen it around again it's not me driving it
no I'm making this because maybe someone today seen it been driven around with my
roof sign on and maybe it's nearly hit them all it's been driving
discourteously or whatever that's not me so if you've seen that that wasn't me
please tell the police where you saw that oxide has been cited after it was
taken with the roof sign on so yeah the police are currently looking for him and
