How I Make My Videos | Jill Maurer - Duration: 10:09.
Hello and welcome. I'm Jill Maurer, and today I'm going to talk all about how I
shoot YouTube videos, and more accurately how we shoot YouTube videos. I do not do
this alone. In fact Artimus is the brains behind shooting the YouTube videos. You
may know Artimus a little more if you listen to the Maurer Glass podcast. We
are often bantering back and forth with each other there. Artimus is a filmmaker,
and he is actually the one who talked me into doing YouTube in the first place.
And there's a lot more that goes into shooting and editing a YouTube video
than you might think. We start by deciding what videos we're going to
shoot. And we generally shoot three to seven videos in a day so we plan ahead
about what we want to talk about. We look and see if people have requested videos.
We generally keep a list of video ideas so that we have some thought out in
advance and some are more topical depending on what's going on. So we'll
check the news, and we'll check what people have requested, and we'll check
our list, and just decide which videos were going to shoot for that day. We need
to pick a day that's relatively quiet when we can. Sometimes there's
construction around me which can be loud, and also if anybody's doing the lawn and
that kind of thing, we want to avoid. We also think about lighting because we use
the sun as one of our main lights. And you'd think that a bright sunny day
would be the best, and it is not. It causes weird bouncy reflections in this
room. We prefer a cloudy day or even a rainy day to shoot the videos. I prepare
by doing my makeup, you know, making sure my hair is done, all of that.
I usually just pick out a few outfits because we shoot a few things at a time.
And so I just pick out a few things. These are all mine. Sometimes I actually
use Rent the Runway. And I'll have different different options. And I just
usually want something with a little bit of color, a little bit of interest
usually. Sometimes we do something plainer. It just depends; we vary it up.
It's also good to have a rack like this because we do multiple videos in a day.
I like to kind of pre select what I want to wear for those videos so I'm not
looking at my entire closet. I've already done some pre selecting. And then I'll
try something on, We'll make sure it looks good on camera. Different days
different things look different. So while Jill is getting ready to do her video
I'm usually out here setting up all of our equipment. Now for the equipment
we're using, we like to use the Canon 60D It's a DSLR. And what's nice about this
model, even though it's a little bit older, is it has the screen that actually
comes out and turns around. Sometimes when Jill's filming by herself
she needs to see herself. Or if I need her to move just a little bit, it's
easier for me to turn the screen and actually show her what's going on
without her having to get up and look at it. All of the equipment that we get, we
make sure that it's stuff that we can take with us traveling so everything
that we use here is the same stuff we use out in the field. So everything's
very light, compact, and we can take it with us. We use a three-point lighting
system which means we have one big light. This is the one we use for that. It has
four light bulbs in it, and it has this cool little softbox thing that goes over
it. And that's really the main light that we use to make sure you can really see
Jill.
For the second point in the three point lighting system, we have this one which
is just about the same. It's only got one bulb. I usually put this just behind Jill
off camera so that it gives her a little bit of a halo effect. It's a good way to
separate your subject from the background.
Now in a three point lighting system, usually you have a third one that's a
fill light. What this does is it fills in all of the extra shadows. But one thing
we like to do is use wherever we're at to do that for us. So Jill has these huge
windows here in her house, so rather than bring in a third light to try to fill in
shadows, we usually position her so that this is what's filling in that
shadow for her. It's another good way to make your shoots go a little bit faster. You
want to use as little equipment as possible to make sure you can actually
get to making the stuff you're trying to make. So now that Jill's lit we're ready
to shoot. [Jill] I'm lit. What? Artemus sets up the light, sets up the camera. We set up the
chair. We usually take a test shot just to see how the lighting looks, and you
know whether I need to put on more lipstick or, you know whatever. We he
also sets up the microphone he always asked me to say "something". You'd think
that he'd asked me to say "something else", but not even "something else" every time
he asked me to say "something" so I oblige. Then if we remember, we start by
shooting the thumbnail. Because if we don't, we will forget, and as it turns out
I don't smile a lot, and so he has trouble finding a thumbnail within the
video. Imagine that! I'm not sure why that is. So we try to make sure to shoot
the thumbnail. We might have some sort of little prop to do that. And then we start
to film. And normally when we're filming there are a few different places that we
film. But I'm sitting looking right at the camera, and Artemus is usually off to
the right looking at me looking at the camera. And it's very important for me ...
You might notice that I gaze deeply into your eyes, and the reason I do
that is I'm desperately trying not to see Artemus out of my peripheral vision.
Because he's usually doing things like this ... so [laughter]. He's doing it right now!
So I try to avoid looking at him at all costs. He is supposed to tell me if
anything is wrong, like my necklace is turned or whatever ... that kind of stuff. He is
not always so good at that kind of stuff, but what he does tell me is if I need to
say something again. Or if I forgot to say something, or something about the
flow, he'll he'll tell me there. [Artimus] Jill can you can you cheer up when you say that? [Jill] And if I say
anything ridiculous, he usually lets me know. We do edit.
Because Artimus has this skill of editing, I know that he's going to edit.
We both know that he's going to edit. So I'll try some things; I'll say some
things that that never get shown because we're just trying it on to see how it
works. Since he can edit, I know every sentence will come out perfect. And
sometimes he takes out extraneous words like "ohs", "ums" and "so's". We usually break the
video up into intro, and then sort of the meat of the video, and the outro. Once
that is all filmed, and we feel like we've gotten enough. Sometimes we'll stop
and we'll we'll say did we really get enough or is there something else we should
add? Is there a little more we should do? If so I'll sit down and do it right then.
So then it goes to the post-production phase. Generally it starts with the rough
cut. Artimus will edit out the extraneous things and will put together the story.
So it's it's called the rough cut. He gives it to me, and then I view that and
see what I think about it. If there are things that I know that I said that I
think should be added, or if there's more that should be cut out. Or if you know if
it just makes sense in general. So I will give him some comments and some ideas.
Then he works on the final cut. The final cut is for the really technical things ...
making sure that everything is right, that the sound is good, and that
everything just looks good, and that we are saying what we want to say. And then
he'll upload that, and we will schedule it for release. And then during that time
when it's sitting there waiting to be released, which can be just a couple of
days, or it can be a week depending on how ...
you know, or more depending on how much we've done, how many we've done in
advance. I go in and I do the closed captioning. So I go through and listen to
every word and make sure that the closed captioning is correct. And finally we add
all of the tags. We think about what tags it should have. We think about the
title. We do the description, make sure that we have linked anything that we
have said that we would link. Sometimes there are recipes depending on if it's a ...
I haven't done any food videos, but if it's a drink video we'll do recipes. And
we just make sure that it is all packaged and tidy and neat and the way
that it should be. And then it will publish when it's scheduled to publish.
And then when it publishes, I try to make sure that I'm nearby, near the computer,
and that I am responding to any comments. I also share it on other social
media ... my facebook ... I might tweet about it, and just generally let people know. And
by the way if you want to share it, that would be good too. Making YouTube videos
is a lot harder than it looks even with the support that I have. Even with
somebody helping me and who's done all this before and really knows how it's
done. In the beginning I was a mess. I mean if you go back and look at some of
my earlier videos, I don't know if you can see it, but I can see how nervous I
really was. And we'd have to do take after take. And Artimus was trying to get
me to just relax and to just just talking to the camera. And it wasn't that easy. We
would actually watch each video before we took everything down just to make
sure we had something that he could work with. And then as I've done it more and
more, I relax a little more. We have a rhythm together. I understand more about
how the editing works. So I know that if I say something I don't have to, you know
if I say something wrong, I don't have to panic.
I can just stop. I just pause mm-hmm, usually I clear my throat, and I start
again. And I know that none of that will actually be in the final cut. So I feel
like I'm improving. I hope you can see that. And if you're starting some videos
and you think, I just look like this freaked out robot. You know you probably
do, but it gets better. I hope you enjoyed this video. This is
the part where I ask you to comment below. And generally I ask you to comment
something about the video. So comment something about the video. Have you ever
made YouTube videos? Do you do it completely differently? Have you ever
thought about what goes behind making your favorite videos? Let me know in the
comments below. I also ask you at this time to subscribe, and you haven't yet. So
subscribe! Bye for now.

Weekend Box Office: 'Christopher Robin' Expected to Make $30M | THR News - Duration: 2:12.
"I don't remember being cheery."
Old Eyeore should have nothing to be glum about over the weekend
as Disney's late-summer family film 'Christopher Robin' is
expected to make a domestic debut at
the box-office in the high $20 million-$30 million range.
Christopher Robin's biggest competition will be Paramount
holdover 'Mission: Impossible — Fallout,' which debuted
to a strong $61.2 million last weekend. If the Tom Cruise
movie falls 50 percent or less in its sophomore outing,
it could best 'Christopher Robin,' which was
inspired by the classic children's tale 'Winnie-the-Pooh.'
Disney's live-action/CGI movie, directed by Marc Forster,
stars Ewan McGregor as an overworked and stressed-out adult
Christopher Robin, who has lost touch with his imagination.
All that changes when his childhood friends Winnie, Piglet, Eeyore,
Tigger and the rest of the gang magically emerge from the Hundred Acre Wood.
Hayley Atwell, Bronte Carmichael and Mark Gatiss star
opposite McGregor, while the voice cast includes
Jim Cummings, Brad Garrett, Toby Jones,
Nick Mohammed, Peter Capaldi and Sophie Okonedo.
Several other films open nationwide this weekend, including
Lionsgate and Imagine's 'The Spy Who Dumped Me,'
starring Mila Kunis and Kate McKinnon. The R-rated comedy
is pacing to open in the low- to-mid teens as
the spy genre continues to be challenging at the box office.
The story follows two friends who become entangled in an
international conspiracy when one of the women discovers
that her ex-boyfriend is a spy. The cast also includes
Justin Theroux, Gillian Anderson, and Hasan Minhaj.
For the first time since 'Deadpool 2' dropped in mid-May,
Fox enters the fray with YA film adaptation 'The Darkest Minds'
directed by Jennifer Yuh Nelson, the acclaimed director of the last
two 'Kung Fu Panda' movies. The story follows a group of teens
who mysteriously develop new abilities and are detained and declared
a threat by the government. Sixteen-year-old Ruby,
played by Amandla Stenberg, escapes
and joins a growing resistance of other teens.
The fourth movie opening nationwide is the pro-Trump film
'Death of a Nation,' from controversial conservative filmmaker
Dinesh D'Souza, who was pardoned earlier this year
by President Donald Trump after pleading
guilty to violating campaign finance laws.
Predictions are tough as the doc is only opening in 1,002 locations —
far fewer than the other releases — but 'Death of a Nation' presently has a
zero percent score on Rotten Tomatoes with six reviews posted.

Top 5 Mistakes Bitcoin Newbies Make - Duration: 4:32.
What's up CryptoPeeps! It's your girl, Kyla, here to deliver your
daily dose of Bitcoin news!
Being a newbie in anything can be a scary thing.
It can sometimes be hard to tell whether or not you're making a mistake.
Although mistakes are the best way to learn, dabbling in something as volatile as bitcoin,
it might be better to make as little as possible.
Today, we're going to talk about some of the biggest mistakes you can make as a newbie.
1.
Not doing your own research
This might be the biggest out of all the possible mistakes you can make.
With anything you want to get into like learning how to play the guitar
or learning how to drive. Especially cryptocurrency trading, it is extremely important to do your own research.
Research is important because when faced with decisions like buying and selling, you have
to be able to trust yourself.
It's your money and although it helps to seek for advice, ultimately you have to make
your own decisions when it comes to your money.
Building a knowledge base with research is essential in making cryptocurrency trading
as smooth and easy as possible.
Go on and watch videos *link in the description
books and articles, and scroll through forums to get started on research.
2.
Failing to find a community
One of the coolest things about Bitcoin being the catalyst for cryptocurrencies is that
there are already several communities that have been established.
With these communities, you have the ability to ask questions and ask for trading advice
with a tight-knit group of people who are all on the same ride.
These communities are good not only for learning as much as you need to know, but also for
you to enjoy the ride with other fellow traders.
After all, what use is a rollercoaster such as bitcoin if you can't enjoy it with a
bunch of friends?
3.
Lack of patience and security
Everyone who's into cryptocurrency trading knows how much of a rollercoaster it is,
easy it is to lose yourself in your emotions.
It might be hard, but you have to be prepared for bitcoin's volatility and most importantly
DON'T PANIC.
Once you start panicking, you'll end up panic-buying and/or panic-selling.
Being patient doesn't only apply to the HODLing strategy, alson applies to short
term trading.
If you're doing or going to daytrade, you need to have a plan for it and stick patiently
to that plan.
4.
Selling when it's "high enough"
Similar to number 3, selling when it's "high enough" shows a sign of fear or panic.
Why would you settle for something good when it has the potential to be great?
When it comes to trading with bitcoins, it's important to have a plan with an achievable
end-game.
I mean, isn't that what investments are all about?
Putting your money into something that you believe in?
With Bitcoin's volatility, it may be hard to stick completely to your plan, but that's
what having a plan is for: to set a goal for you to achieve.
5.
FOMO
FOMO, or Fear Of Missing Out, plays a big role in Bitcoin investments everywhere, especially
after the boom in late 2017.
There were a lot of people asking themselves "I should have invested..." or "If only
I had known…".
This is something probably most of us have experienced in the past.
We need to realize that cryptocurrencies, bring us new opportunities every day.
We're better off doing our own research on the next big thing rather than feeling
bad and get hung up on the past.
Have you ever gone through these mistakes before?
Did we leave any out?

HOW TO MAKE AN ELEVATOR IN MINECRAFT (1.13 / PE) - Duration: 7:43.
Good afternoon, Sstudios is here and in this video
You will learn how to make a simple elevator on a
new version of minecraft 1.13,
as well as on Windows 10 and
Pocket Edition.
[Music]
So, let's test the possibilities of the elevator.
First we need to press this button to make
everything work.
As you can see, the elevator works on the Soul Sand, which
in a new minecraft update
generates following bubbles,
which raise the player to the surface of the water.
Well, then there is a small mechanism that
pushes out a player from the surface of the water,
consisting of two pistons.
So, this mechanism is constructed quite simply.
For this, it is necessary set a certain
delay for repeaters.
So, on the first sticky piston should be a delay
of 2 ticks, on the next 4, and on the block,
which will be moved by pistons should be a delay
of 0 ticks, thereby.
So, to create an elevator we need two types of various building blocks,
4 units of signs,
a sufficiently large amount of water, therefore
it is recommended to build this mechanism next to some
water area, a reservoir, in general, next to the source of water.
Also, we need 4 units of Soul Sand,
and a new mechanic, added by Aquatic Update.
Also, we need one button,
14 units of redstone, six repeaters, maybe 7, and 4 sticky pistons.
So, to begin with, we need to dig a hole 2 into 2 blocks,
and fill it with Soul Sand.
After that we need to build here such a template,
in order for everything to be correct.
This stage can be missed by players who build
this mechanism on Windows 10 or Pocket Edition.
Specifically, in order for soul sand to generate
bubbles, it is necessary to recreate
a water area, and then gradually fill each block of the elevator with water
yes, quite a messy process
Also, in order for the water not to go beyond
the elevator car, we need put fence gates, and then signs.
Be sure to put it in this order: the fence gate
and then the sign, because, that if we put a sign at once,
the water will pass through it and it will make no sense
We return exactly to what I said, in Minecraft: Java
Edition, it is necessary to fill
each subsequent block in the elevator car with water.
Such a feature is present only on the version of Minecraft: Java Edition.
So, I build an elevator with the calculation of one floor 3 blocks,
so the overall construction turned out to be 8 blocks high.
It is necessary to fill the elevator car to the level of the 2nd floor.
First, we need to place the button like this,
and lead from it with the help of a small amount
of redstone and two repeaters for a full delay,
signal to a certain level, where we will have pistons,
that is, to the level of the 2nd floor.
Then, we build exactly the same system that
has already been shown in this video,
Everything again is done quite simply.
You can delete the blocks we do not need at this stage of building.
Well, now, we can put repeaters to two pistons,
on the first piston, which is closer to the player,
we expose a delay of 2 ticks,
then, on the piston, which is further from us we expose a delay of 4 ticks,
well, and to the block that will be moved by pistons, we expose delay of 0 ticks,
that is, do not put a repeater at all.
After that we need to connect all this redstone signal,
as shown in this video.
Also, here on such a bridge, you need to put
a repeater so signal can reach the right side of the mechanism.
So, as you can see, everything works fine, our piston mechanism
pushes out player to the second floor.
Well and in occasion of descent downwards, it is possible to try
to make the same construction, using magma blocks,
because, they have the opposite effect, but then
do not use the piston mechanism below.
So, as for the elevator for items, everything is simple.
It is necessary to place a dispenser so it can face water like this
and just set the button and the items safely move to the top of our elevator.
Well, now we turn to the Windows 10 Edition,
which is similar to Pocket Edition
There is no need to fill each level with water.
Thank you all for watching, I hope this video was helpful

How To Make A Hollow Log From Tinfoil And Paper Clay - Duration: 19:46.
hi guys welcome back to where the gnomes live I have a video for you that I
wasn't even planning on making I ended up making these hollow logs the other
night and these are the first hollow logs that I've ever made I've made a number
of trees over the years but I've never attempted hollow logs and these were
really fun to make the reason why I made these was I am working on a new
background scene for my blog it's for stop animation and also for taking
photos and I recently have used this background for some of my crochet
patterns
so I'm sitting here at my sewing table and I actually have the background set
up somewhat I don't have the ground down but I do have the back I'll take a look
here so there's my wonderful paper clay trees and I have some moss there and I
crocheted some mushrooms and then I decided I needed a hollow log for a
scene that I have in mind so that's what brings us to these guys because this
video wasn't planned and I'm still in the middle of doing my background I
haven't yet had the chance to add mushrooms or any other features to the
log so this video is only going to show you how to make the log and how to paint
it and then once I get the chance to add the mushrooms and the moss and all that
great stuff then I will upload another video for you and you can see this log
all decorated but for now we'll just get through making the log itself and
hopefully that will get you on your way to making yourself a great scene next
I'm going to break down the supplies that you need to make one of those
gorgeous little logs I'm also going to write this list down in the description
box below so we need six feet of tinfoil and this is 30 centimeters wide and make
sure it doesn't say nonstick because you need masking tape to stick to it so you
need tinfoil six feet of it and masking tape once we make our tinfoil form and
cover it in masking tape I'm also going to cover it in paper so you need some
white glue or tacky glue and I water it down a little bit and for the paper I
use black tissue paper you don't have to use the same thing that's not necessary
you can use paper towel you can use brown paper or a newspaper we'll be
using a pair of scissors and if you have a point a knife on hand they come in
handy for making the little nut holes because you can just pierce the tin foil
when you need to scissors will work too but I found a point a knife works a
little bit faster and of course we're gonna paint the log when we're all done
so you're gonna need a variety of different colors you can choose the
colors of your own choice of course but this is what I've used I used black
burnt umber cinnamon brown and a soft suede
before I made this video I actually never made hollow logs before I've made
a number of trees over the years I've painted a lot of trees but I've never
painted the inside of bark and I attempted it here and I'm pretty happy
with how that looks you can of course play around with different colors of
your choosing what I did to do the inside here was use some of these colors
that I just showed you and then I also used a little bit of golden brown and a
tiny bit of antique white you're also gonna need a paintbrush you need one
bigger one and if you have a smaller one like this it comes in handy as well and
of course you're going to be needing paper clay that's how we get this
beautiful bark texture on here and there's tons of recipes out there for
paper clay I actually have a recipe here on my youtube channel you can use any
paper clay of your own choice if you want to see how I make my paper clay you
can click that little link that's popping up on your screen and that will
bring you right to the video I show you how to make the paper clay from start to
finish and to cut these beautiful lines into the paper clay I used a plastic
bone folder if you don't have one of these try to find something similar in
something plastic because that works wonderful on paper clay alright guys now
you know what you need let's get started that took a 6-foot length of tinfoil and
I folded it in half so now it's three feet long and I'm going to fold this
over three times one two and three so
these open ends I'm going to roll towards each other
I don't overlap it too far
the outside is all covered in masking tape and I want to do the inside as well
but first I want to decide what kind of shapes I want up here if I want to cut
away any like this then I'll do that now it'll make it easier for putting the
tape inside and now I will lay some tape inside there
you
outside there's no foil showing through anywhere and if you wanted to add a
little knot hole on the top very easy to do that just cut a hole wherever you
want the knot hole to go the hole here too and I was just thinking maybe I'll
add a little branch coming off here as well so it's rolled up some tinfoil I'm
going to spread open the bottom and just place it anywhere I want it to
go and I'll cover that with masking tape so now we are ready for the next step
and what I do and you don't have to do the same thing you can do whatever you
want from this point on I cover mine with black tissue paper and this is very
very cheap I get mine at the dollar store you can cover this with newspaper
paper towel brown paper so what I do is I take tacky glue and I've watered it
down just a little bit I don't measure it out I just water it
down so it's easier to brush on top of the surface tacky glue is very very
thick and it's hard to paint over paper when it's so thick so I like to water it
down and I just lay that over top I actually don't bother with the very
bottom that's just gonna make it difficult I cover the entire surface
except for the very bottom you can do the bottom two as well but you just have
to wait for the other parts to dry first and then flip it over okay once it's dry
on the outside then I start working on the inside it doesn't take long for the
paper to dry I just put a fan on it I'll paint my glue in there on both sides and
just like I did with the masking tape I'll reach in there grab one end and I
can just lay it down we are now ready for the paper clay and I'm gonna be
working inside out so I'm gonna put paper clay on the inside first and
before I do that I just want to tell you a little something that I thought of
yesterday because this is the very first one I made I wasn't really thinking
about the heaviness of the clay on top of the foil and then after I put the
clay on top of course it kind of pushed the log down and you can see it here
collapsed right here but I like that design I think that's a great feature
actually for a log that's running here's something to think about if you don't
want to talk to collapse under the weight then think of a little brace that
you can put inside I just made one out of tinfoil so after I get my paper clay
in there I'm going to put this inside and I want the top to stay up and then
the front of it I think I'm gonna collapse down on purpose kind of make it
look like it's rotting let's do that let's play around this book a little bit
so I'm gonna get my plastic bone folder and gonna get my paper clay and just
push it in there and I'll spread it around with my little knife here boom
foot bone folder makes a great knife and then we'll come back and we'll put that
brace on
in the front like I said I'm going to collapse it a little bit after I get the
paper clay on the top I'll just play around with that design
after I'm ready to cut my lines in and one nice thin layer the thicker the
layer is longer it's gonna take to dry and paper clay takes a really long time
to dry out already so we want to help the long by making sure that's a nice
thin layer I go as soon as I can without starting to see the background
you
get my paper clay is on and my brace did fall out a few times I had to keep
putting it back in there and then I had to readjust it just before I turn the
camera back on but yeah that's the first time I've tried that so it's working
well now and like I said the front here I'm gonna collapse out a little bit and
push that down so this part can be collapsed down on purpose so now I'm
ready to cut my lines and I'm just gonna pull the lines across and I'm gonna
crisscross them and here you can see where the black tissue paper comes in
handy I can see it underneath already
anything you do to this now once it's dry it's going to keep that shape
forever so I just looking at Google at the ends of hollow logs and you can see
where the bark is separating from the tree itself so that's what I'm trying to
recreate here okay from this point you can if you have a nice sunny day take
advantage of that free energy and stick it out in the Sun for as long as it
can stay out there if you don't have Sun use fans on it otherwise it's gonna take
a super long time to dry and if you want to you can dry it in the oven at the
lowest setting I'm gonna go stick mine in the oven actually and I'll time it
and see how long this takes to dry so it just came out of the oven and it took
five hours to dry it completely and that was on 175 so five hours is a very long
time I've done most of my paper clay after I've dried in the Sun or under
fans usually I leave it overnight under fans that's a lot of energy to use five
hours of the oven but I did want to see how long it would take using the oven so
and now I can pop out this brace in here
you can see I ended up with a hole in there I can file that down
there we go managed to file that down now if that
was a very visible spot all I would do is just fill it in with paper clay and
let it dry but it's out of the way there so I'm not going to worry about it so
now what I'm going to do is paint this I'm gonna paint it black first like I
said that gives a nice base for the highlights of the tree color and how I
do it is do a black wash and I take a one bottle like this it doesn't matter
what size bottle but I'm gonna make mix it with equal amounts of water so one
bottle of this this one bottle of water and I have a big brush in a little brush
I can get in those little nooks and crannies you don't want any white spots so you'll
notice right away mixed with that water if that paint just flows into every
little crack that it needs to and it takes half the time out of
painting the black is all dry and you'll notice after it is dry the the black
coat if once you turn it and look at it at different angles you'll find little
white spots and if you have a lot of those fill them in because they will
show up after your final coat is on and you don't want to see all those white
spots I've already touched mine up I could see one or two left over and I'm
not worried about just a couple of them but if there was a lot then I would
paint over those again now I'm gonna take earth umber and I'm gonna go over
the surface okay and you'll notice when I'm painting this coat I'm not getting
into all the little cracks I'm just going over top this is where you'll
start seeing the part come to life and I don't want to get into all the cracks I
want to have some of that black showing through like I said my hollow log I just
made my first one the other night this is my second one now I haven't totally
figured out the color for the inside yet but I will
before this tutorial is over I'm thinking I will look at some more
pictures on Google and just the the color of the inside of hollow logs and
I'll go from there but I do know around the front part around
the front of the opening it'll be a little bit darker than the rest
depending on how long it's been out in the open air rotting away on the ground
if that burnt umber coat is dry and now I'm going to go over it with a cinnamon
brown and I don't clean my brush in between I'm just going to wipe off the
excess on my paper here so dip my brush in there and then I get that excess off
brush it off on paper and just go lightly over top again I just want to do
highlights I'm not getting in and tough all the cracks I'm just gonna set that
aside for a few minutes and then we'll do the final highlight color
ok that coat is dry and I'm gonna take a soft suede I'm running out of here
oops I don't need very much of it and again
I'm not cleaning my brush in between I'm just taking the excess off on my paper I
just want a little bit of that color
okay at the inside I'm still not completely sure but I'm gonna try this
golden brown and I'm just gonna go very lightly I'm gonna take my smaller brush
and I'm gonna go very lightly and just see if I can just add a little bit of
color in there just highlight it all right guys I kept playing around with
color and I think I'll leave it here I added in that golden brown toned it down
quite a bit with that soft suede use some Brown again and some black yeah I
think that looks pretty good I think the trick is to not just do one solid color
you don't ever want to do that with a tree because then it just starts to look
yucky so you want to you know use some dabbing motions and pull some color
through and then you take your smaller brush and then you can highlight some of
those cracks with your black and I think that works well all right so the next
thing I want to show you is with the black so I've taken my smaller brush and
what I do is just shadow out different areas here and there just to give the
log or the tree even more depth I just go around and just shadow it out a
little areas like this it adds a lot of depth to your overall finished piece so
when I dab my brush in there again just getting the excess off and then go in
anywhere where you think there should be a little bit of a shadow
around the bottom of this knot hole and he's deep deep cracks I would put some
extra black in there and after I'm all done I take that soft suede again it's
just a tad of it and anywhere where there's protruding parts I highlight
those and again that just just like the shadowing does it adds a lot of depth to
the tree alright my friends I hope you enjoyed this video showing you how I
made this beautiful little hollow log and I hope you get yourself one made and
as soon as I get a chance to like I said I'll be uploading another video showing
you how I ended up decorating this until then I hope you have fun crafting and
we'll see you super soon

Why I Make Videos? And why Casey and Peter are not a good guide - Duration: 5:39.
Glad to be back. I'm glad you're here too. Today I wanted to talk about something
that I was asked quite a while ago and to be honest Wolfgang this one's for you
I am way too big for this playground so why do I do what I do why why am I on a
playground at 8 o'clock in the morning probably because there's no kids here
right now why do I make videos why do I do these things and I saw a couple of
years ago that video was taking more and more time of more more of my time on the
Internet I mean consuming video than reading
webpages reading tweets and Facebook's and stuff like that you will all know
the same thing probably you saw videos popping up in your Facebook feeds and
and and so video became a way of communicating lots of information and a
compact amount of time and although this video is probably longer than it needs
to be I thought this is how I can get a message out so do I want to be a YouTube
star
ten years ago when I was doing a lot of consulting I II used to create white
papers wait papers were just the gold standard
the thing that people wanted to see video on the other hand lets me
transport information shorter piece of information in a much faster pace here
and honestly I think the open rate on videos is a lot better than white white
papers here I'll show you one I'll take a screenshot of a video I put up to two
weeks ago about a hackathon that I kicked off in the Netherlands and it had
it's already got over two thousand views on LinkedIn who know so video lets me
take little piece of information and share it really quickly in a place so if
I ask you when's the last time you have found time to to read an article that
might be three or four or five minutes long and consume that information versus
when's the last time you've may have consumed with three-minute video video
is really simple to make two things I wanted to say if it's gonna be three
three things not sure about making video I get asked a lot of questions about
what do you use to make your videos honestly I started making videos on my
phone making videos on your phone are ideal challenges sometimes might be
getting good audio and things like that but if you want to make a video just
turn on your phone then people that's what soft doors are used I just use
whatever's on your computer or your Mac I'm a Mac user iMovie is just fine use
iMovie I use Final Cut but you don't need to have fancy software to make this
happen the important thing about your videos is the information you're trying
to communicate I want to share information about how to do more things
in business particularly I'm here to move the needle on how companies improve
their customer services second thing I wanted to talk about videos how do I get
started alright I've got a camera I've got a phone or whatever to make videos
I've been looking at some people on the internet and seeing how they make these
these vlogs these videos what do you suggest so here's one thing I wanted to
say this is number two I guess people like Casey nice that and Peter McKinnon
and some of you might not know who any of these people are there's links below
or whatever I'll tag them if you're interested at all I would not suggest
watching their videos for inspiration on how to make videos like this videos for
your clients for your marketplace here don't get me wrong
Casey Peter and the others these are really great videographers and
photographers don't don't ignore it but they are way over the top they this
is just way beyond what you need to be looking at and and getting inspiration
from you need to just take it simple there's a guy that I ran into honestly
very recently here probably through a Peter McKinnon video
Cody laner Cody are Vienna ladder wanna wanna
I'm sorry I know it's not Warner and I told them I was gonna make this video
saying don't watch KC's watch Cody's videos because what you'll see at his
videos are it's just clean and simple it's just a guy who's got a message he
wants to talk about and he doesn't he's not bothered by loud noises loud
construction zones
I got them he wants to get a message across he wants to inspire people I saw
that he works with Audrey embers who I've been a fan of Audrey's for quite a
long time back when I was watching her in her dorm room I mean for an old guy
that's just kind of a weird thing through and sharing her inspiration and
her challenges of trying to be a creator a creator is something everybody can be
I don't just make videos obviously here I'm out to move the needle with
companies trying to improve their customer services I work for oviya
that's my day job here make videos on the side when I get a chance early in
the morning now and now get back to my day thank you for watching and I'll see
you on the next video

Part 1: What is alcohol and how does it make us drunk? - Duration: 1:12.
All of the different kinds of alcohol we drink
are ethanol based.
Ethanol, also known as ethyl alcohol,
is a clear, volatile liquid
that has a pungent, bitter taste.
Ethanol is produced by the yeasts that ferment the sugars in fruits and grains.
Tiny yeast organisms eat those sugars,
and the ethanol is the waste they leave behind as they break it all down.
The ethanol molecule is small, and highly water soluble
and because it's so small, when we drink it,
it's very easily absorbed in our gut
and distributed in the blood to virtually all the organs and tissues of our body
including the brain.
Ethanol doesn't easily dissolve well into oils and fats,
although fats and oils can dissolve into it.
And as well as being intoxicating, ethanol is also a nutrient...
But the bad news is that it's most readily converted to fat.
And like most nutrients it's most easily absorbed into our system
by the small intestine.
Which means that what you have in your stomach can make a very big difference
to how you night could go if you're planning to drink.

Money Won't Make You Happy - Duration: 4:52.
Hello out there in the interweb I am your galactic host Nilaja Damali and this is
our Channel VaVa life I want to thank you all for watching and let my
subscribers know that I appreciate you very very much thank you if you like
this video if you like this content go ahead and subscribe down below and get
your bell so that any time that I release content you'll be notified let's go
ahead and get into this video so today this topic is called money won't make you
happy so you allow yourself to be happy okay so let's do it in parts part 1
money won't make you happy okay I'm Nilaja what are you talking
about that's what we're all working towards right that's what it's all about
right like I need the money so I can get that car that's gonna make me happy I
need the money so that I can get that house or that property that's going to
make me happy that clothes and on and on and on I need that get that job that's
gonna give me the money that's gonna give me just gonna make me happy right
wrong and let me tell you why I say that I say that because I've been there I got
the degree that's what we work for right go to college you get the degree I'm went and I
got the degree go get that high-powered job I got the high-powered job go get
that new car I got the new car go get the latest cell phone I got the latest
cell phone go get your own spot had the own spot get a partner had the partner
do you know I was not happy and when I looked at myself and I saw all these
things I was devastated I was like but wait a minute
how can this be I'm here I've achieved it I've done it and it was such a
letdown deep down inside it was confusing I felt there was something
wrong and oh my gosh what now and that was kind of the beginning of well we're always
on our spiritual journey but that was a turning point in mine and so I had
all the material wealth trappings right and a lot of other trappings right I'm
associated with money and I wasn't happy so that leads me to part deuce part 2
which is allow yourself to be happy what you mean Nilaja allow myself
to be happy what is that supposed to mean if I could be happy I'd be happy
right no you have to allow yourself to be happy so as we referenced in part one
if you're thinking these things are gonna make you happy you do not allow
yourself to be happy until you get them and we're conditioned that way through
punishment you get in trouble if you're not doing good in school why because
school and you're not gonna good grades well oh my gosh if you don't go to
school you don't get to the grades you can't get the good job so you can get
the money which is gonna make you happy so you don't allow yourself to be happy
until you get these different things however like I explained in part one
those things aren't going to make you happy therefore you have to give
yourself permission and allow yourself to be happy now wherever you are in
whatever condition please allow yourself to be happy now so that's part three get
into that happy feeling now that happy feeling that happy vibration is what is
going to then draw all the things to you that you've been trying to get to make
you happy we're flipping at y'all we flip in it because that is the
reality in which we actually live in so get into that happy feeling and then
happy vibration as much as you can right now so I'll put it like this okay just
to wrap it up first seek the happy place and all of those happy things that
you've been running after you are gonna find you you're gonna draw them unto you
through the law of attraction that leads me to part number no there will be no
part number four that's actually another video and I already made it check it out
it's called the Joy Vibration and so with that being said thank you for
watching again if you like this video go ahead and throw me a thumbs up and let
me know go ahead and leave comments below let
me know how you related to this video well that's me
Nilaja Damali your galactic host signing out

Your Dreams Don't Need to Make Sense! Here's WHY!★ #TheDay1Journey Ep. 6 ★ - Duration: 6:23.
welcome to the day one journey episode 6 the place with that we can choose to see
this day look what a beautiful day we choose to see this day as day 1 a
fresh new start a new beginning let's go yeah some people are waving at us let's
way back and let's continue our journey last few episodes we talked about our
dreams we tried to remember the lost dream we had maybe many years ago then
we spoke about giving it life give it it energy saying it out loud
weather to ourselves and for the mirror or even writing it in our journal and
then say it to our friends then we suggested to that idea that if our friends laugh
about our dreams we can stop and think and remember that's a good sign because
if they laugh about our dreams that means that our dreams are just big
enough but why why be enough yeah people are joining wave but why big enough big
enough to give us the energy the energy and vibe to wake up in the morning this
is why we have these dreams and we also spoke about the distinction between
dreams and plans they are not the same plans are there to be understood to
make sense plans need to be executable dreams are not there to be executable
they don't need to make sense another way yeah people are joining the dreams
are there to give us energy
and I know I promised to tell you about my dreams but before I do that and we
only have left three minutes because every episode is just five minutes so
before I tell you about my dreams I want to share with you what what is the
meaning I give I chose to give to my dreams you see I believe in that quote
that says the meaning of life is giving life meaning think about it the meaning
of life is giving life meaning so it goes in everything also in dreams so I
choose the meaning I give to my dreams and it goes as follows
another quote if you know Napoleon Hill not Napoleon Bonaparte, Napoleon Hill
he wrote the book Think and Grow Rich either way he said this
cherish your visions someone is running good he said cherish your visions and
dreams as they are the children of your soul the blueprints of your deepest
accomplishments again cherish your visions and dreams as they are the
children of your soul the blueprints the blueprints
of your ultimate achievements Wow I read that it penetrated... my
heart yeah let's wave people are joining in
the Instagram live waving at us so this is the meaning I chose so we can go
very philosophical here but we only have one minute and I want to tell you that
that I chose that meaning for me because it is just helpful and useful
and gives me the right perspective think about it when you
google life dream the American dream or something like that you'll see pictures
of yachts Porsche other cars big houses everything is quite generic yeah quite
generic but when you think about your dreams as the children of your soul this is
personal this is yours think about your dream the lost dream
it's about you because it's the children of your soul
think about that it cannot be generalized the other thing is very
useful and we are out of time so I give it an extra thirty seconds is this when
you think about your dream as the children of your soul as as a child you
understand there's there's no overnight success right because it is child it
takes time so there's no overnight success and you need to give it constant
energy constant energy and attention every day especially in the few first
years because otherwise it will die
so until next time which is tomorrow which is also day one I want to think
about that what can you do today only five minutes yes only five minutes in
this amazing beautiful day what you can do today to start think about your dream
as day one just write it just again state it to yourself write it in your
journal give it life and if you do that yesterday
do it again if you did it yesterday do it again this is my idea for you and
until next time tomorrow have a great day one

To Love-Ru Darkness True Princess (PS Vita) - Trying to Make Up (English Subtitled) - Duration: 10:21.
*sigh*
This really is the best place to relax~
You're right, Sis.
We even get to eat all of Mikan's tasty food here.
Thanks for the medicine you two.
I'm all better now after taking it.
No problem no problem!
We're happy that you're better too!
But we couldn't get any medicine that could help you get your memory back.
...Sorry.
No, I'm happy enough that you guys went all the way to planet Deviluke just to try and make some for me.
No, we couldn't do it in the end, so don't mention it.
...More importantly, did something happen to Mikan?
Ah, yeah yeah, she's kind of giving you the cold shoulder and avoiding you...
You think so too...?
It's been easy to tell that she's acting cold to me...
Momo, did you do something?
Ugh~...
How did you know?
It's rare to see you so quiet.
Anyone would be suspicious of that.
Did you do something to Mikan, Momo?
Well, a few things happened...
Hey, Momo...
What should I do?
What can I do to make up with Mikan?
Hmm, well.
I think Mikan just needs a little more...
A little...more?
Ah, maybe you're not appealing to her enough as a guy?
Why don't you try approaching her assertively?
Huh?
A-Appealing to her as a guy?
What's the point of doing that...?
Ehh~?
I think Rito's pretty manly the way he is now though~
R-Really...?
Ah, but I did cause her trouble when I was sick...
I guess as her brother I could show that she can trust me.
Alright, thanks, Momo.
I'll give it a shot...!
Yes.
It'll be perfectly fine if you're the one doing it, Rito-san!
Go for it, Rito!
Mmm, don't you think this is a mistake...?
*sigh*...
It's no good...
I have no idea how I should act with Rito...
Even when he speaks to me the way he always does...
Hey, taking in the laundry?
I'll help out.
Rito!?
D-Did you just hear what I was saying!?
Eh?
No, but I know that you were mumbling to yourself.
I-I see, good...
Carrying all this laundry must be a pain...
This is where I've gotta show my appeal as a guy.
Let's start here...
W-Wait, Rito!
You can leave that alone!
Don't hold back, I can do this much-
-ah.
S-Sorry!
These are your panties, right!?
I wasn't going after them or anything, okay!?
I get it so give it back!
How long are you going to hold onto them!?
I'll handle the stuff here, you can go bring out the next load!
O-Okay!
*sigh*...
That didn't go well, did it...?
It's night already...?
It'll be tough to make any progress now.
Mikan said she didn't need dinner and went straight to her room too...
I managed to bring food to in front of her room, but what should I do...?
Top: Go inside her room quietly. Bottom: Call out to her.
Hey Mikan.
Got a sec?
...What?
Guess she isn't coming out.
How did we make up with each other after a fight back then?
...I don't know, I forgot.
I feel like she doesn't want to talk either.
But...I can't give up.
How long are you planning to stay there?
It's going to bother me if you stay in front of my room the whole time.
...Until I get to talk to you face-to-face...
I guess.
...*sigh*
Alright, come in.
Pardon me.
...I'm doing my homework, so make it quick and leave okay?
Yeah, I got it, I wasn't planning on getting in your way.
Ah, right, I brought some food that I made.
It's a bit dull, but you should be able to eat it.
...I don't need to eat anything, no thanks.
Don't be like that.
You've gotta eat at least a little.
I'm not hungry...
I see, well if you won't eat it then I'm going to have to throw it away.
Hmm, that's too bad.
...That's playing dirty, Rito.
If you say that then I can't turn it down...
...Thanks for the food.
*munch* *munch*
*sigh*
Was it not good...?
...That's not true...
I see, good.
Ah, I'll go get something to drink.
*sigh*
This is so awkward~...
This is all because of what Momo-san said...
Me being in Rito's harem...?
That's...not the kind of way a brother and sister are supposed to love each other...
I feel fuzzy inside...
I don't know how I should act, so I've been giving him the cold shoulder...
What do I do...?
We've gotten into plenty of fights...but how did we make up with each other...?
That reminds me, there was a time when I told Rito that I didn't like his cooking because it wasn't mom's and it gave him a lot of trouble...
Hehe, that was when we were kids...
Mom and dad were hardly ever home and I really didn't like that...
Hehe, I said that if I ever become a wife I'd stay with my husband and kids no matter what...
And Rito said that the guy who marries me would be happy.
...When I get older, Rito and I could take Celine on a walk, and we could look like a family...
With me being the wife, and Rito being the husband...
...Just kidding...
What am I talking about?
We're brother and sister by blood...
Sorry to keep you waiting.
I saw Lala and the others playing with Celine, so I got caught up.
Hey...
Rito.
I want to go out and play with just the two of us tomorrow.
Eh?
T-Tomorrow?
Where did that come from?
...Is that a no?
N-No, of course that's okay!
Where are we going to play?
...The amusement park.
