Youtube daily car Feb 17 2018

Cześć Wam! This is Paweł from Car Bone.

Today I'll show you how to install a Momo Prototipo,

or a different steering wheel in your aircooled Porsche.

Prepare the following tools:

A socket wrench

A wrench for the battery.

A Screwdriver.

Gloves to protect your hands.

Step 1. Disconnect the battery.

Disconnecting it is very important if you have an airbag.

Step 2. Set your wheels and the steering wheel straight.

step 3 Uninstall the horn button cover.

Step 4 Undo the nut on the steering shaft.

Step5 Set your wheels and the steering wheel straight before you take off the wheel.

Hit it alternately on left and right like you are a gorilla!

@%^&^*%&^$#@!@$%&&*

The parts you need:

A steering wheel.

Consider using a Momo Prototipo or a RAID.

A Horn button.

You can get one from our collection in our webshop.

A Boss hub kit. We use Momo ones.

Insert a contact if you want to use it in Porsche 964 or 993.

An adapter for RAID steering wheel.

Step 6

If you have 2.7, SC or 3.2 you need to take off the horn contact from your steering wheel

and put it on the hub.

f you have a 964 or 993 it's time to install the horn contact.

It will make your horn button work.

Mind that the indicator reset peg should be on the left.

The holes should be set up in a vertical line.

Put the steering shaft nut back on and tighten it.

Don't forget about the washer.

Have you already chosen a horn button?

We have maaaaany in our shop.

We can make a custom one for you too.

Step 7

nstall the steering wheel and the horn button.

It's easy. Use screws that came with the hub.

Remember to connect the hub wire to the button.

Install the 2nd wire under one of hub-to-wheel screws.

If you want to use a RAID, use an adapter.

Otherwise your steering wheel will be slightly crooked.

Our adapter works for many other steering wheels.

Step 8

Connect the battery and try your horn button.

Check if your wheels are straight.

Now it's time to go for a ride!

Built In Triggers / Actions, Cover, Ledge Climbing, Car Examples Unity 3D ( GCCC ) - Duration: 48:09.

Hello! In this video I'll go through built in triggers / actions.

I'll show examples of: push and pull object, cover system, ledge climbing ...

... climb on obstacle, jump on obstacle, jump down, jump over obstacle, swing on ledge ...

... open/go trough door, mine ( explosion ), and car drive and car setup.

This is the demo scene in which I'll setup triggers for player to traverse all the way up.

So, lets start with push/pull object.

I'll use unity default cube geometry for as push/pull object, although any object can do.

Object can have rigid body applied or not. First I'll create non rigidbody object and later I'll add rigidbody component.

All built in triggers are in 'Prefabs/Triggers' folder.

Im using PushPullTrigger and placing in front of object.

Make sure that trigger is pointing towards object ( forward axis blue ).

Next, target need to be assigned. Its object with only transform component. I'll use from triggers folder.

Target is place where player's wrist will be upon finishing match target of entering push state.

Maybe I should lower it a little.

Assigning target to PushPullTrigger, assigning move object and making it to just push.

Since this is movable object, I'll add trigger and target as a parent to move along with it.

That is enough of basic setup, lets test to see ...

Now, for fine tuning where player hands should be placed, LineIK transform can be placed ...

It an object with transform object on it and scaled along x axis ( can duplicate from target ).

Then assign that object to IKLine field.

For showing/hiding trigger renderer use: 'Tools/GC Character Controller/Helpers/Hide Trigger Renderers'

Let's test ...

Hmmmm, maybe I should make target a little closer to object.

That's it I think. It looks fine.

This is non rigidbody object and it cannot be moved other way.

I'll just assign some other material quickly.

Now, I'll make it to be pullable also. Just need to create a handle first .

Now, place it to position where grip should be. Maybe more tries required.

Tick 'Push And Pull' field and that's it. Let's test ...

Pushing and pulling works!

I'll just enter trigger notification text. Notification text can be disabled if desired so.

PushPull triger can be setup from any side/direction. I'll copy and place it to the side of the cube.

Okay, now I'll create some obstacles.

And the last thing to do is to add rigidbody on cube. I'll set large mass so it can't be moved.

Ok, that's it with push pull object. Next onto the cover system.

So, these are the objects I will be using as covers.

Cover trigger is also in 'Prefabs/Triggers' folder. Lets drag one in front of middle object.

Scale trigger to fit your needs ...

Cover trigger also uses target with transform on it. I'll call it 'GrabLedge' from now on.

Scale the 'GrabLedge' x axis along the cover length.

Trigger/grabledge forward direction is important. Keep forward vector point to direction of cover.

Okay, assign GrabLedge to CoverTrigger target field. Enter display text if desired ( or disable ).

I'll assign angle requirement of 180 degrees.

That means that player will enter cover no matter the facing when in trigger area.

You can exit cover by moving in direction opposite of cover or by clicking 'Cancel' (x).

Ok, there is not much to it. Let's now assign 2 more covers and switch between them.

I'll just copy this already created and place it in other position.

... scale it to fit cover object ...

... same with third cover.

I'll just reorder and rename covers quickly ...

Okay, now let's assign cover neighbours so player can switch between them.

Keep in mind that you are not assigning cover triggers but grabledges ( cover transforms ).

Ok, let's test. Hide triggers first.

That's it with covers. Let's move onto obstacle triggers ....

I'll start with 'JumpOver' trigger first.

Same like other, it can be found in 'Prefabs/Triggers' folder. And also like others, place it by the obstacle.

Next, place target grabledge on top of obstacle you want to jump over.

Assign grabledge to Target field, enter display text, angle condition ...

If you create other animation as jump over, you can assign match target AvatarTarget to be effector.

Its RightHand by default.

There are 2 jump over animations. One if running, other when standing/walking.

To create opposite jump over you can place other trigger on other side and repeat process.

... or scale current trigger to be reachable from both sides and tick 'TurnToLedge' checkbox.

By defult, upon trigger start - player turns towards trigger foward direction and during ..

...jump he turns towards target direction. If 'TurnToLedge' is checked player turns to ledge before jump start.

Ok, let's move onto climb on trigger ...

Also place it and scale it to fit your needs. I'll make it so that player can climb onto this hut.

... next place grabledge on top position and also scale to fit.

Same like with other triggers, assign grabledge to Target field, enter display text, angle condition.

This time I'll disable display text.

Climb on have different animations when walking / running and height of obstacle.

You can assign height of obstacle in 'TriggerLedgeHeight' field.

Like in JumpOver trigger, to climb on other side you can place other trigger and repeat process ...

... or you can also scale current trigger to reach both sides , also scale grabledge and check 'TurnToLedge' checkbox.

Trigger system will find closest point when calculating climb match target position.

Let's see ...

That's about it with ClimbOn trigger, let's try swing2ledge trigger.

Again drag from 'Prefabs/Triggers' folder, scale to fit ....

.. also drag grabledge as a target on position of match target effector ...

... assign Target field, enter display text, angle condition , other fields as desired ...

... and let's test ...

Next, JumpDown trigger. Repeating process as others ...

JumpDown trigger also plays different animations depending how high is jump.

So, be carefull to place it a little over edge because it throws ray to calculate height distance.

Also it dont need to have Target field assigned. If Target is assigned, player will lerp to target position before jump.

Next, onto the ledge climbing system ...

To enter ledge climbing mode, triggers are used: Jump2Ledge when jumping up to ledge ....

... and EnterLedgeDown to climb down to ledge. I show both. First drag Jump2Ledge from triggers folder ...

... next, drag vertical ledge from triggers folder and place it along this pole ...

... position and scale it to fit this pole.

Also by scaling it in x axis makes player hand IK to be wider.

.. so that player grip can be applied on different widths of poles.

I'll set vertical ledge be target of Jump2Ledge trigger.

... setting angle condition and I'll disable display text ...

Next, I'll place horizontal ledge player can jump to and from.

Adjusting scaling to fit and assigning that player can jump down to vertical ledge and vice versa.

I'll just rename to keep track.

Let's test ...

Ok, it works.Let's now add more ledges and add EnterDown2Ledge trigger ...

Adding new horiz ledge and checking 'PullUp' checkbox so player can pull up from ledge.

You can add custom pull up animation in 'Pull Up Animation State' filed. I'll leave default.

Applying that player can jump to left ledge by dragging left ledge in 'LeftLedge' field.

Also checking 'NearEdge' box so that can only jump when on edge.

Now dragging 'EnterLedgeDown' trigger from triggers folder.

Assigning ledge player will catch onto to target field.

Ok, let's test now.

That's it. It works.

I created same way ledge climbing setup so player can reach top of platform there.

Just note that ledge need to have CapsuleCollider and LedgeTrigger only on places where vertical and horizontal ...

... ledge are colliding (crossconnected). So player can switch from one to the other.

You can delete CapsuleCollider and LedgeTrigger components if not needed.

This is the place where horizontal and vertical ledge are crossconnected and it need CapsuleCollider and LedgeTrigger.

Now I'll create rest of the triggers so player can traverse to top.

JumpOver trigger...

... JumpDown trigger on low height ...

... JumpDown trigger on higher height ...

... JumpForward trigger ...

... now dragging medium ladder blueprint prefab ...

... I'll assign different material to be not blue ...

... next, dragging moving platform object.

You can change moving platform mesh/es, sounds and way to start it.

If BoxCollider on 'StartPlaformTrigger' object is enabled player will start platform by entering box in middle ...

... but I made that platform can be started from panel in corner.

Enter y position up and down ( height of platform movement ) in StartPlatformTrigger.

This control panel object and trigger ...

... it has generic trigger on which I'll assign method to start platform.

That method is on Player object - PlayerMisc script 'onPunchControls'.

Ok, let's start and go all the way up.

Okay, that's it. Let's go onto the next one: Door and mines.

Door trigger is also in triggers folder. So lets drag it out.

This is default door object with mesh and open/close animations.

I'll show steps how to replace door mesh and material..

Door mesh in on 'door_test' object. I'll replace MeshFilter mesh with new one.

And also apply new material.

That's it - door can be used now.

You can apply door sounds in door_test 'Door' script.

Mine prefabs are also in prefabs folder. Just place them on ground where needed.

Also assign layer mask which will interact with explosion.

... and those are 'ColliderLayer' and 'ColliderInactiveLayer' layers.

Those are the player hit layers when using shooting not 'PlayerLayer'. 'PlayerLayer' is used for movement.

Let's test ...

Ok, next let's go onto vehicle setup.

Car prefabs are also in triggers folder. There are 2 variants of same car.

Red car with black roof and cabrio version.

They are already setup so let's test them.

Okay, now I'll setup car from scratch. I'll show usage of 'VehicleSetup' window.

I made a car blueprint on which you can create your car model to fit current animations.

Create car model onto this blueprint if you want to use default animations.

Now I'll create makeshift car to show steps. First create body ( which is plain cube ) ...

... next onto the wheels ( cylinder geometry ) ...

... make four of them ...

... now rename wheels by position. Positions are important when creating car ...

... now that body and wheels are created - open 'Tools/GC Character Controller/Vehicle Setup' window.

Just assign main car object and all the wheels by position.

And that's it for basic setup. Let's test

Ok, let's now setup steering wheel and hand grips.

I'll create positions where player wrists should be placed by IK.

Now assign steering wheel transform to CarController steering wheel field and hand grips to CarControlUser hand grips fields.

Let's test

Now player hands and wheel turns accordingly.

That's it with basic car setup. Look at the red car prefab on how to setup car with open/close door animator.

That's all for this video. Have a nice day.

Top 10 Exotic Cars We're Not Allowed To Have In America - Banned Cars - Duration: 7:14.

10 Awesome Cars You Cannot Own In US

In this era of technology, it isn't difficult to find a car that suits your needs best,

whether they fit your budget or not is another story!

So when you step into the world of cars, there are nearly 300 names that you can choose from

to finally lay your hands on 'the one'.

But if your dream car isn't listed out, you could always import it, provided you have

extra cash stashed up to incur the shipping costs!

But before you set your heart out to an imported beauty, know that a lot of cars are banned

in the US, you'd want to check out the list first!

So here we have 10 splendid cars that you can't own in US, that's gonna break a

lot of hearts!

Number 10.

Lotus Elise Series 1 This beauty weighs less than 1600 pounds and

can accelerate to 60 miles per hour in less than six seconds.

It surely is a treat to watch and drive but sadly enough, every model year of Elise Series

1 (1996 to 2001) is on the NHTSA blacklist!

The 'no roof, no window' design doesn't work with regulators and we hate that.

In fact, the last model that made it on the US roads was the 2011 model because the NHTSA

waiver for Lotus to build and sell cars in the US without smart airbags expired in August

2011.

Now that's a safety concern so we might as well accept it!

Number 9.

2008 Fiat 500 Abarth Do you know about a two door, four-passenger,

transverse front-engine car?

Of course you do, it's the Fiat 500!

The American's got their share of this hatchback darling after 2010 but if you are an enthusiast

and want to show off a 2008 European model, then you'll be disappointed.

This one makes it to the list of blacklisted cars, rather royally!

An interesting thing about the US version is that, Sergio Marchionne reported that Fiat

loses $14,000 on every 500e it sells, and only produces the cars because state rules

require it.

Can you believe that?

Number 8.

2010 Alfa Romeo 8C Spider Roadster Guys show some excitement because we are talking

about Alfa Romeo's greatest cars of the 21st century so far!

Alfa Romeo claims that the 8C Spider's top speed is 180 mph and the brakes on the Spider

are Brembo carbon-ceramic units.

Aren't you already longing for this magnificent car?

Alas, this one couldn't make it to the American streets because it doesn't fit the 'safety

issues'!

It is going great in other countries and we feel that the manufacturers never really paid

attention to America as a prospective customer and so we will miss it!

Number 7.

1989 Porsche 959 S Just before Ferrari raided the markets, which

was the world's fastest street-legal production car?

When introduced, the Porsche 959 bagged this position with the maximum speed of 195 miles

per hour!

During its production run it was hailed as the most technologically advanced road-going

sports car ever built, now that is something!

She this one wasn't built as per the US specifications, it was denied entry in the

country!

We wonder whose loss it was because this is a the very-limited-edition racing variant

of the already rare group of supercars!

Number 6.

2004 Volkswagen Beetle 'Ultima Edicion' Mexico was the last country in the world where

the classic Bug was produced and the last produced was the 3000th unit of a special

production run named the "Sedan Última Edición"!

The Mexicans called it Vochito with love and have learned driving on it or had their first

sexual experience or accident on it!

That might be funny but its ban in the US certainly isn't!

Your dreams of a low-impact auto import have dashed because the car doesn't make a cut

through US's safety policy, sad!

Number 5.

1992 Porsche Carrera 911 RS (964) The Porsche 911 was proudly produced by Germany

between 1989–1994.

This 2 door coupe is a sports car with a 3600cc engine, like seriously!

With a top speed of 163 mph, the car leaves us awestruck!

Do you also think that US banned this beauty because the name was a little too complicated

for the regulators?

That was meant to be a joke but never mind!

The reason for its ban in the country is emission and safety related but we still long to see

this beauty hurrying past us on the streets!

Number 4.

1993 Jaguar XJ220S We won't believe you if you say that this

two-seat supercar produced by British luxury car manufacturer Jaguar was never your dream

car!

The official recorded top speed was 212.3 mph during a testing session and just in case

you have lost your voice with this, let's express it for you, WOW!

Come on, it was the fastest production car from 1992 to 1993!

Only 6 of these were ever made out of which one was allowed an entry within the country

while the rest 5 remain banned in the US!

Number 3.

1993 Lamborghini Strosek Diablo Now not many people will be sad about this

car's ban because there's a little percentage of people who can actually afford this one!

But yea the others have missed a visual treat, so we all mourn anyway!

The car's design might look fabulous to you and you have always admired it but it's

the same thing that prevented you from relishing in the US in the first place!

The side mirrors and miniscule headlights shuns American safety regulations big time

and have thus kept this beauty out of American borders!

Number 2.

1994 Toyota Supra The Toyota Supra is a sports car that was

produced in Japan from 1978 to 2002.

With a maximum speed of 175mph, this car is certainly LOVE!

If you are looking for a 1994 model of this gorgeous lady, then you'd have to be disappointed

because it comes under the NHTSA's blacklist.

The good news is that the year is the highlight here, so there is some wiggle room and you

could own a Supra manufactured in some other year!

Get it first and thank us later!

Number 1.

1999 Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R The fact that the Australian motoring publication

Wheels nicknamed the R34 GT-R as "Godzilla" in its July 1989 edition is proof enough of

its amazing technology!

And how can we forget Paul Walker racing his blue Skyline in 2 Fast 2 Furious?

The car was way ahead of its time and it served as the perfect project for geek auto-enthusiasts

to tinkle with.

If you don't believe us, ask the Japanese about it!

And the same reason proved to be too much for the American Highway regulators!

Which of these banned cars do you wish you could own?

Tesla Model 3 first impressions feat. MKBHD - Duration: 12:34.

(jazzy music)

- Hey all, this is Nilay from The Verge.

We're here in New York City in front of our office.

Tesla gave us a Model 3 for the night.

So, I'm just gonna cruise around the city, pick up

some friends, and see what they think.

Let's go.

This is actually the fully loaded version, so it's

extended range.

It gets 310 miles on a full charge.

It's got all the options.

So, the car starts at 35k,

that's what Tesla says, but this model, all the way

loaded up, red paint, fancy wheels, the whole nine,

is 60k basically.

So, pretty up there.

And the first person we're gonna pick up

is Ashley Carman, a great gadget reporter,

whose been reviewing

a lot of cars for us.

Here she is.

- Okay.

- Oh, and Becca's here too.

Hey, Becca.

- How you doing?

- So, Ashley, you are a gadget reporter on Circuit Breaker.

- Yes.

- You have done a bunch of screen drives for us, you did

a BMW 5 Series, you know, Rolls Royce--

- Yep.

- You did a Hyundai.

- Yep.

- The Hyundai was nicer than the Rolls, I think.

(laughter)

I am gonna ask you to do a series of challenges in this

car, because you're looking around, there are no buttons,

there's no knobs--

- I've also never been in a Tesla before, so--

- You've never been in a Tesla before.

- So, this is all new to me.

- So, if you've been in a Model S, you'll probably be able

to figure this out pretty easy.

Challenge one--

- Okay.

- I just want you to turn on some music, very basic,

people do it in cars all the time.

- It's very basic until you have cameras on you.

(Nilay laughs)

Okay, let me see.

I'm gonna go with the music note,

I'm gonna press the magnifying glass, I'm gonna put

on Fiona Apple--

Because that is, for some reason, I think it's the winter

it's making me--

- Very dramatic choice.

I want you to change the direction

of the air vents.

- Okay, so I see the temperature here, manual--

- There you go.

- Is it seriously gonna be this?

- Yeah.

Isn't that cool? - What?

- So, the way this works--

- Such a crazy--

- There's a jet that blows up and a jet that blows out,

and when you move this around, those two interact and it

blows faster or slower and it directs the air towards

where you're going.

- This is just not how I think about vents.

- It's just so cool.

- Yeah.

That's pretty dope.

- I want you to lock the doors.

- Okay, well, there is no locks, I don't think.

(Nilay laughs)

I'm gonna go back to this handy-dandy car menu.

I'm in the locks menu, I found the locks menu.

- I will tell you that this confused the hell out

of me earlier.

- I don't know, Nilay, I'm in the locks menu.

This feels like the place.

- You are in the locks menu.

It's right here.

Beep. - Oh!

- That's the door locking.

- I didn't even think to look up there.

- Well, it's funny because it's the main thing you want

to do, so it's up here, it's like it's always

at the root level.

This map--

- Yeah.

- Get rid of this.

It says Google in the corner.

Those are some Google maps.

- Yeah, see, this is what really stands out to me, because

if you haven't tried a bunch of cars, you don't realize

how terrible map interfaces are.

- Really?

So, it's Google Maps on the screen, but the

navigation is actually cool.

Ashley, you're a gadget reporter,

this is like a $60,000 gadget, does this

appeal to you, is this like a good gadget?

- As far as the actual display goes, this really just

feels like an iPad Pro to me, and that's nice.

I actually really like this display.

I was super skeptical,

I even wrote like a Hot Take when they announced the model,

I was like, "It needs a head's up display", because I love

heads up displays.

This is around the BMW price range

and the actual car feels a lot cheaper, like this wood

paneling, I do not dig, it feels, I don't know, and

this side door, it doesn't feel like $60,000 to me.

- Right.

- This feels very, like, utility.

- Right.

All right, well, thank you for coming on this

ride with me.

- Yeah.

- I assume you're going partying now.

- Yeah, I'm just so ready to tear it up.

(Nilay laughs)

- All right, so, I've been driving this car for a while

now, just picking people up, cruising around the city.

It is ridiculously fun to drive.

And then the other thing

I've noticed is people are, they are drawn to this car

like nothing else.

The red paint helps.

If you want any other color but black,

you have to pay $1000.

I recommend buying the red paint for $1000.

You know, from the outside just looking at it, it's got

a lot of that Model S vibe.

It's a little bit more

aggressive in its design.

Everyone's expectations

when they get into it are completely blown up, because

you're expecting to be in a car, and the inside of this

thing looks nothing like a traditional car.

So, a lot of people have been asking me how this compares

to a Model S, yo, is that Marques?

(horn honks)

Marques!

What's up, buddy?

- What's good?

- You own a very famous Model S named Apollo.

- Yes.

- I follow the adventures of Apollo all the time, and

you spent like three days in a Model 3 recently, right?

- Yeah, so we spent a little time in a Model 3.

It compared well in a lot of ways,

and it's really familiar.

I've driven some other cars that don't compare

in like any way to mine.

It does a couple things better than my car, and

it does a couple things worse.

- Really? - Yeah.

- What does it do better?

- The UI here, it's a little faster, the touch response

is faster.

It's also updated and the maps are a little

bit better.

The front trunk opening is a little bit

finicky on Model S's, just everyone's Model S.

Model 3 is just, one hand, close, easy.

If you get used to the air

suspension on a Model S, then the coils here will feel

a little too firm.

If you get used to zero to 60 in 2.4 seconds,

then this might feel a less than that.

- How old is your Model S?

- About a year and a half.

- Okay, so here's my big concern with this display.

It's basically a giant tablet.

Five or 10 years from now--

I mean, you don't hold on for a phone for five or 10

years, you don't hold on to a tablet.

Is yours slowing down at all?

Do you think that's gonna make it five years,

10 years, as long as you keep a car?

- I do view it the same way as you.

I did lease my car

anticipating it like a piece of technology and I don't

expect it to last as long as a normal car.

So far, in my year and a half, it hasn't slowed down, so

that's good.

I'm hoping it doesn't, because that's kind of important

that it keeps up with all the things I need to do,

like unlocking it on the screen.

- I find myself wondering, A, are regular people going

to be able to figure all this out, and, two, like, honestly,

it's a computer and I'm with you.

I mean you probably change

phones faster than me.

I change my phone every 25 minutes.

- Right.

- And this kind of scares me.

I've got to be honest with

you, that it's kind of locked in to this.

And you can get

over the air updates, but are they gonna swap out

processors in 10 years?

Things like that.

Or are they just gonna call them all back

and give people new ones?

- Yeah, I think it would be cool if they actually changed

out the computer because I know the computer in

the Model S, I thought they would have updated already,

because it's been the same since the beginning of Model S.

(bouncy music)

- Compared to Auto Pilot on your S, do you find this one

better or worse?

What was your response like how it--

- Yeah, the actual driving part was identical, just

having all the cars in front of you and sensing

everything around you is the same.

But my problem with it

is the physical control of Auto Pilot.

So, on Model S there's a separate stock, you double tap

down, and if you want to change the distance between the

car in front of you, you just rotate it.

In this car you have no Auto Pilot stock, so you double

tap the drive stock, and then to adjust the distance

of the car in front of you, you have to go into a menu

and hit up and down in the menu on the screen.

- Whoa!

- So, you know, you're not, you're technically not

really driving and you can afford to look off the road,

but I feel like they could have done way better with that.

- Yeah, I feel like they went, this is a weird phrase,

maximally minimum.

- Yeah.

- There's as little stuff as you can have over here,

and sometimes when you're actually just driving, you want

those controls around you.

- Yeah.

Some of these buttons are unassigned, for the most

part, and they can, as they learn about how people use

the software, assign them, so I think they can use that

right wheel to control distance, because now it's

unassigned while you're in Auto Pilot.

That would be easy.

- So, this car, I was saying earlier, is almost 60k,

because it's all optioned out.

- Yeah.

- The base model Model S is, I don't think anybody

gets one, but it's close to that range too.

Would you get this specced up

versus getting a Model S at

the base level?

- I think at 60 grand, or roughly what this is, I would

pick an optioned up Model 3.

- Really?

- Because baseline Model S, you don't get Auto Pilot,

right, you have to pay extra.

Baseline Model S, you don't get glass roof.

Baseline Model S, you don't get premium speakers.

So, it'll feel similar, but

I feel like you'll get a better experience with an

optioned up Model 3.

That's just my opinion.

I haven't driven a baseline Model S.

I could be proven wrong.

But Tesla will always tell you Model S is a better car.

That's just my opinion on if you're gonna drop

exactly 60 grand, that's probably where I would lean.

- All right, man, well, I have stolen you and driven you

around in circles too much for the day.

I'm gonna let you go.

Do you want to plug your channel?

- Yo, MTV HD on YouTube or any other social.

I did a Tesla video, it might have been this exact same car.

- I think it was the exact same car.

- It was this exact same car.

- I changed it from Auto Focus to the Verge.

- That's amazing.

Take it easy. - Thanks, Brother.

I've got to get this thing back to the Tesla dealership.

Oh, hey Loren.

Come on in.

Loren, do you want to come with me

to the meatpacking district?

- I do.

- Because I have to get this car back to Tesla.

- You know, I love those clubs.

- Who doesn't love a hot club?

So, this is Loren Grush--

- Hi.

- Who you probably know from Space Craft.

- I cover the other Elon company.

- So when you think about Elon, right, obviously

SpaceX like really inspires people.

- Oh, yeah.

You know, it's funny, I saw some comment

the other day that was talking about just the kind of

sheer difference between how the two companies are covered.

You know, SpaceX has got its criticism and people who

like to criticize it, but overall, most people kind of

acknowledge that the company has been a big disruptor

in like a very old-timey industry.

Ironically space is kind of set in old ways.

- But I wonder, the way Tesla has covered it, is like,

they have competitors.

SpaceX doesn't have like

consumer level competitors the way Tesla does.

- Yeah, I mean, they have like one or two major competitors.

But in space, having competition is, everyone kind of

says it's good.

The more other companies elevate, it all

elevates the industry.

It's not, it's definitely not the

same field as cars, by any means.

And the difference too, I think, is this is more

to towards the consumer.

And SpaceX, you know, not everybody

launches rockets.

- No.

- Not everybody needs their rockets to be launched.

So, it's a very different type of market and maybe that's

kind of why things are different.

It just sounds like they have a lot of production problems,

and that is just not an issue for SpaceX.

(Nilay laughing)

If anything, they have an abundance of rockets because

they keep landing them all the time.

- So, when you're in this car and you're looking around it

do you see any family ties between all the Elon companies?

- Elon loves a streamlined aesthetic.

- He's doing something with these cars that make them

look really different.

If you look at all the cars around

us, they all have grills, they need air intakes for

their engines.

This car doesn't need one, so they just flattened

out the front of the car.

They designed it around being an electric car.

- And all my stuff is up in the hood right now.

- That's true.

That front trunk is actually like

pretty useful.

So, I'm gonna do something.

- Okay.

- So, we're on the West Side Highway.

I'm just gonna put the hammer down.

- What's the hammer?

Can you even do that in New York?

(Loren screams)

Oh, my god.

Please don't put that in the video.

(squealing)

That's like a freaking roller coaster ride.

- [Nilay] Yeah, I mean, this car has a ton of torque.

- [Loren] I like speed, it's just unexpected.

- [Nilay] Yeah.

- [Loren] And it's also a car.

Like, I don't like cars.

- [Nilay] You don't like cars?

- [Loren] Well, I do like cars if I'm in control.

- [Nilay] I see.

Do you want to drive?

- [Loren] No.

- [Nilay] You sure?

- [Loren] Maybe.

- [Nilay] Do it.

It's not my car.

So, very basic stuff--

- [Loren] Yeah, what do I do?

- [Nilay] First, your mirrors.

Phil, Phil, come back.

Stop!

- [Phil] What's wrong?

- [Nilay] Nothing's wrong, I don't think.

- [Loren] Put the hazards on.

Put the hazards on!

- [Nilay] I don't know how.

- [Loren] Go around us!

- [Nilay] You guys, we need the key card!

- [Phil] It's in the car with you.

- [Nilay] Oh.

Okay.

We're good. We're good.

Put your foot on the brake.

And then now you're in drive.

- [Loren] Okay.

Sorry.

- [Nilay] I didn't know where the key card was.

(laughing)

- Oh, that's fun. - Do you see what I'm saying?
