Today's topic is specifically for Minnesota residents and it's about a
change in the law the Minnesota Legislature made in 2017
they now allow you to provide a transfer on death designation for your motor
vehicle here in my hands is a copy of the form from the Minnesota DMV website
it allows you to fill out your title and also fill out beneficiary information
who you would like to leave the vehicle to upon your death now you may be familiar
with transfer on death designations for financial accounts but to my
knowledge this is one of the few states that are allowing you to do this here in
Wisconsin we don't allow this for vehicles it's a nice option if you have
a vehicle and you think it may be your last and you want to leave it to a
specific person or child you can go to the Minnesota DMV website get a copy of
the form and fill it out or if you use my office for your estate planning we're
happy to provide that to you along with the rest of your estate planning
documents so if you're Minnesota resident be aware that you can now fill out this
transfer on death beneficiary designation form for your motor vehicle
and that can help the vehicle avoid probate at your death. Thanks for
watching!

Motor City Madness! - The Legal Brief - Duration: 4:35.
Welcome back to The Legal Brief, the show where we CRUSH the various legal myths and
misinformation surrounding various areas of the gun world.
I'm your host Adam Kraut and today we're heading up to the Motor City Detroit to talk about
a recently passed bullet bill resolution.
Recently, the Detroit City Council unanimously approved a gun control resolution known as
the "bullet bill".
The resolution was introduced by Commissioner Reggie Reg Davis back in September, who ironically,
admitted to previously having a "fetish" with guns, claiming he owned sniper rifles, double
barrel sawed-offs, and glocks.
Don't worry, I'm sure all NFA rules applied.
He also was quoted as saying that "we are not attempting to destroy your right to bear
arms.
(We want to) put taxes on that ammunition and use those funds to teach urban American
folk about the importance of bearing arms and how to become a responsible gun owner."
Jon: Taxation is Theft!
Now I think we can all agree that teaching people, urban or not, about the importance
of bearing arms and being a responsible gun owner is a good thing.
Where we likely diverge on the agreement is the imposition of taxes to fund that form
of education.
While I have not been able to find the text of the resolution itself, multiple media outlets
have reported that it would impose a limit to the amount of ammunition an individual
could purchase, along with a requirement that a mental health background check be performed
in Wayne County.
Now, I know what your thinking, but Adam!
how can a city council impose requirements on an entire county?
Well this is 2018 and apparently no one needs to understand how the government operates
in order to run it.
From what I can gather, this is part of a larger proposed ordinance for Wayne County.
It's likely that the Detroit City Council's approval of this resolution is merely virtue
signaling and nothing more.
The county commissioners will be taking a vote on this larger ordinance at the end of
the month.
In addition to the limitations on the amount of ammunition a person can purchase and the
imposition of a mental health background check, the proposed ordinance would also create additional
county taxes that would be imposed on the purchase of ammunition with revenue going
to assist victims of gun violence and educational programs.
Those programs would focus on conflict resolution.
What remains to be seen is whether the ordinance, if passed, will have any teeth or even be
enforceable.
Michigan has a preemption statute which prohibits local units of government from imposing certain
restrictions on the ownership, registration, purchase, sale, transfer, transportation,
or possession of firearms, ammunition for firearms, or components of firearms.
I guess the goal is to have laws that punish those who abide by the law, rather than those
who violate it.
If I were a betting man, I'd guess that this will likely end up in court if passed.
We'll keep an eye on this one.

The Rodeo Clown of Drag Racing—Put Up Or Shut Up Preview Ep. 12 - Duration: 4:55.
(drum roll)
(heavy-metal music)
(motors roar)
- Here we are with our two drivers,
Tony Big-Worm Smith and Artis Houston,
and before we get into the cars and everything,
first, we all need to know where "Big-Worm" came from.
- Actually it came from a dumb movie, called The Stoned Age.
- Okay. - It was about a bunch of guys
that partied down in the South Bay where I'm from,
and one of my buddies,
actually his dad builds my race-motors,
so they needed a name for me: that's where it came from.
- Big-Worm.
So Artis, you have known this guy forever,
and you have a lot of connection coming back and forth,
so tell me how long you've known him
and how'd you first meet him?
Me and Worm, Tony, Anthony,
whichever name you want to call him,
we go back a good 15 years.
Kind of like one of the days where you're always
at the street-races hanging out,
people just gravitate to each other
just based on personality.
You know, Worm has a Ford; I drive a Chevy.
He's a night-dealer; I'm a Snap-On dealer,
and it's funny because he's the one
that actually introduced me to the business.
That was seven or eight years ago.
- So one of the things we got to talk about too
is how the many, gazillion levels
of connections you guys have.
You can start this story because
you have the connection of both cars.
- Well, Artis's Nova started out as my Nova way back yonder.
Just a beater I drove around after high school,
I mean, I thrashed that car,
and then the man made it a legend, so it's great.
- Both you guys, look,
you've been hanging out at the street-races,
and you do race cars that in many ways
kind of evolve off the streets.
Like X275 and this type of stuff
really is an evolution of the street-racing culture.
Talk about that in your own deal
like coming off the street over the course of time.
- Man that's funny,
when I first started Heads-Up Racing,
it was actually in this car,
and I can drive it anywhere;
it was a nine-second car back then.
The first Heads-Up race I did, it was a regular radial tire.
I was street-racing the night before,
we finished about three in the morning,
we drove to the track, slept at the gate,
went in, and I won my first race.
So I'm like, "Hey, this Heads-Up stuff is pretty--
- Easy.
- "Pretty cool; it's easy.
- "And I just won money and the cops didn't chase me?
"Dude what's up?
" I don't have to wait all night to get one race off?"
I'm like, "Oh yeah, this is where I need to be,"
and kind of turning you into an adult
and trying to be responsible.
- Yeah, you're failing at it mostly,
but this is one part you're getting right.
- Oh, there's no doubt about failing, my friend.
- Where were you, Artis?
- I had this dream to go nine seconds,
and I built this car thinking I would go nine seconds,
and it wound up coming out running
like 870s the first time I took it out,
so I kind of was behind where I planned on being.
- But you can always plant it in your arm--
- Yeah man, you don't see it hanging out?
It still stung.
- Now let's talk about what's going to happen today,
little side-by-side racing.
You guys obviously got good personalities
and there's egos involved,
man, you've known each other forever
but you don't want to give the guy an inch,
so your car is going to be a little bit different
than you're used to.
You pulled a bunch of weight out
and changed the tire, right?
- Yeah, I normally run on a 26, eight and half inch tire
which is just, it's smaller than the front tire,
so I'm like the idiot; I'm the rodeo-clown of drag-racing.
I actually took three or 400 pounds out of the car,
and put on this big, giant 28 tire--
- [Interviewer] Oh yeah, that huge 28 tire.
- I swear it's like a pro-mod now,
so I don't what it's going to do.
I'm just going to get up, stick it in the beams,
and let her rip.
- What about you, Artis?
- I love Worm but, he's going to have to understand
when I run about his life,
some things are just supposed to happen that way,
you know what I mean?
- Is that what nitrous cars do,
do they run-away from turbo cars?
(Artis stutters)
I don't know, I'm just asking.
- It's a lot of misperceptions out there,
everybody say, "Oh you're so stupid; go turbo, go nitro."
Why do I want to do it the easy way?
I got leaf springs on my car,
I got old-school let's-do-this-the-hard-way.
I grew up in Compton.
Let's figure out how we're going to make this work
and make the--
- Hey wait a second, I grew up in Compton.
- What did you do?
You're in Compton but your motor toys, baby.
- Hey, hey, hey, don't hate the player, hate the game.
- I mean, maybe someday I'll be like you,
but right now, I'm at the house, baby.
I'm still ramping the CPT.
- Well, you know what--
- This could literally go on all day.
We need to get the cars fired up and on the race-track,
and if you think this is entertaining,
wait till you see these guys leave the starting line.
(groove music)
(motors revving up)
- [Interviewer] Alright, so here's the setup for round one.
You'll notice that the sun has changed positions.
That's because it's been a couple hours
since we talked to the guys.
Believe it or not, when Worm went back
to get the car ready for this first round,
they had an electrical problem
with the boost-controller in the car.
They went back and figured out how to get that fixed,
they made the right changes in their Racepak perimeters.
Now they're ready to go.
Artis had no problems at all.
They went back, just did their normal service,
got ready to go for round one.
(engines revving)
- You're going to hear that booming exhaust note
out of the nitrous big-block, its open headers,
it's that big high-compression engine
with all that nitrous heading through it,
and a much more muffled noise coming out of the small-block
with a single turbo on it for Worm.
Eighth mile finish-line, so we're going to go 660 feet here.
The race-track is incredibly good.
These guys went up here taking stalk of things,
and they claim it's the best race-track
either of them have seen on the west-coast
for this style of racing in a least two years.
So they should be able to really hit it hard.
Let's see if we get some wheel-stand action going.

9 steps to take following a motor vehicle accident: Personal Injury attorney alabama, - Duration: 3:19.
Hello, this is Mark Petro with the Petro law firm
Today, I would like to talk about important steps to take following an automobile exit
It is important to remain at the scene following the accident
We never want to leave the scene before the police or ambulance
Arrived a vault in town scene where people think that it's a minor accident
But the MA directs it
Ends up leading to a serious injury. So it's important state at the scene until the police or ambulance
arrive, it is important to
exchange information with the other driver
Other drivers that were involved in the accident you want to make sure that you get their name
their phone number and their insurance information which they are they should have because by law they required to keep their
insurance information in there
It is important if you are injured to seek immediate attention of medical attention
insurance companies like to use delay and treatment to
their advantage and against you in
evaluating
they need to try to argue that since you delayed your treatment that you really weren't hurt and you were probably
Insinuating that you were probably encouraged by your lawyer to seek medical treatment
So if you are injured, it's important that you immediately seek medical treatment
When you do seek medical treatment, it is important that you are very clear and concise
with the medical providers about how the accident happened
and the injuries that you
Are suffering from it is important that you tell the truth the worst thing that you can do
In your injury case is to exaggerate your illness
If you exaggerate your injuries, you will negatively affect
the value of your case
It is important that you receive
follow-up treatment if the doctor
Advises you to receive following treatment and if you are continued to suffer
Pain
from your injuries
always follow the doctor's advice never
Discharge yourself from the doctor before the doctor says it is, okay
for you to stop coming to see him or her
So those are important steps that you need to think about if you are falling class if you are involved in a motor vehicle accident
Up the phone you call me at the number listed below and I will be glad used us the facts and circumstances of your kids
And I will advise you if you need a lawyer
If you do not need a lawyer, I will provide you preferring the information that you need to help you resolve

What Compensation Am I Entitled To For My Car In My Motor Vehicle Accident Case: Personal Injury Aty - Duration: 2:17.
Hello Mark, Petro with the Petro law firm today I would like to talk about
Property damage to your vehicle if your vehicle's been damaged in an automobile accident, right? Hey every case is different
so if you
Have a property damage question the phone today and give me a call and I'll be glad to discuss that with you for free
But in Alabama if you have you been involved in automobile accident
And your car is damaged and it can't be repaired. It can't be repaired
Then you are entitled to the reasonable cost of repair if your car has suffered substantial damage, but yet it is still
Repairable you would also be entitled to compensation for diminished value
And of course while your car is in the shop, you're entitled to talk to the car rental coverage payment
Reimbursement that will be paid to the rental car company
by the at-fault drivers insurance
if your car is totaled
Then you're entitled to the fair market value of the car immediately before the accident
I'm often asked the question
hey, they got a call from the insurance company and they said that my car is totaled and that they're going to write me a
check for
$10,000 but I owe the finance company
$15,000. Why won't the insurance company paid me 15 bills and I have to tell them the truth that under the law
they're only entitled to
The fair market value of the car immediately before the accident
So one thing that you can do is if you have gap insurance with defining this insurance company that would pay the difference
but that's a summary of
property damage walls in Alabama if you sustained damage to your
automobile in a car accident case so
Feel free to pick up the phone today and give me a call to discuss any specific
Question you might have regarding your property
