9 Things You Need To Stop Doing If You Want To Be Successful

Earl Nightingale, American motivational speaker and author, once said, "We become what we

think about."

Perhaps truer words have never been spoken.

The human mind is an incredible thing, and having the right attitude and mindset has

routinely been stated by numerous successful people as being a pivotal key to success.

Sometimes, however, it is easy to get side-tracked.

Situations in life can get in the way of our goals, self-esteem, and personal well being.

Truthfully, success is a subjective term, and everyone will disagree over what constitutes

being successful.

In this video, I'm going to show you 9 things you need to stop doing if you want to be successful.

But before we start, make sure to like this video and subscribe our channel so you won't

miss any interesting updates in the future guys!

So, here are 9 things you need to stop doing if you want to be successful.

1.

Stop Expecting Perfection

Often, we get frustrated when things don't work out the way we want them to, or as quickly

as we'd like them to.

We stress over small details, or beat ourselves up for getting one thing wrong, or forgetting

to dot one I or cross one T. People are fallible.

Mistakes and drawbacks are a fact of life.

Nothing is nor will it ever be perfect, and that's okay.

Stressing out over minute details or things that would have been impossible to get to

is unproductive and unhealthy.

Start saying that you will do your personal best, because at the end of the day, you're

not in competition with anyone but yourself.

Example: Jennifer Lawrence is someone who everyone seems to be talking about right now,

but did you know she was rejected for the role of Bella Swan in 'Twilight'?

She also didn't take theater classes.

She just trusted her instincts and worked as hard as possible to land acting roles.

Obviously, she wasn't perfect for every role, but she didn't expect perfection.

She takes her failures and rejections well, trying to learn from each situation.

2.

Stop Saying Yes When You Want to Say No

It's always important to know your limits, and people will always try to test them.

Human beings are social animals.

We want to interact with others and feel like we are a part of something or like we are

special to someone else.

People also, for the most part, like to please others.

Sometimes, however, it's easy to be taken advantage of.

Whether it's helping a co-worker with something when you can't really afford to, or loaning

a friend money you can't really afford to give.

Out of guilt, people often say yes to people and situations that they really should say

no to.

Don't be afraid to trust your gut and say no.

Sometimes you can't stay a few hours later because you had other plans or important errands

to run.

Sometimes it's okay to say no to that co-worker that keeps nagging you for help but is really

just stalling because they don't want to work and know you'll help them.

Sometimes it's okay to prioritize other things over work.

Saying no is healthy.

Saying no means that you know your boundaries and can demand respect.

Example: Margaret Thatcher is known as being tough.

She was a powerful politician.

She also knew during her career when she had to take a stand, and sometimes that stand

meant saying no to bad political and economic policy.

3.

Stop Negative Self-Dialogue

We all can probably play back in our minds every negative or embarrassing thing we've

ever done to ourselves, been subjected to, or done to someone else.

Whether it's tripping over one's shoelaces in the fourth grade, or being fired from a

job, wronging someone else, or overhearing someone speaking negatively about us, those

thoughts are forever solidified in our minds.

Replaying those thoughts, however, and constantly punishing oneself for past mistakes, is counterproductive

at certain points.

At some point, it's more important to learn from situations and move on, instead of psychologically

beating yourself up.

The next time you find yourself saying, "I'm not pretty enough", "I did this horrible

thing once five years ago and I'll never forgive myself", or any type of statement

along those lines, turn off that negative self-dialogue.

Look in the mirror and say something kind to yourself.

Read some inspirational quotes.

Acknowledge that you are taking steps and making an effort to be a better person.

Admit to yourself that everyone makes mistakes, and most importantly, that making mistakes

is okay.

Example: This video does a good job of listing Steve Job's failures.

We remember him anyway, and we remember him as a pioneer and someone who didn't give

up.

When things go wrong, and they often do, it's easy for us to remember every mistake we have

ever made along the way.

Sometimes it's easy to lose sight of our goals because of that lack of confidence.

Don't give up and attempt to stay positive.

Train your brain to think of things in a new, more positive way.

Most of all, keep working hard.

Failure doesn't have to be permanent.

4.

Stop Focusing On Just Today

Successful people tend to understand the value of a good plan.

They plan out their day, their goals, a budget and they plan how much to save for retirement.

That doesn't mean they don't have fun, though.

They most certainly do!

They just make sure to plan when it is appropriate and inappropriate to have fun.

They make time for productivity and fun, but still save and think about the future.

So, stop just focusing on today and having fun.

Think about where you want to be in five, 10 or 15 years down the road!

Having a good focus aids in success!

Example: Neil deGrasse Tyson has been in love with the universe and science since he was

nine years old.

Because of that love, he worked long-term to study the things he cared about.

He was accepted into Harvard where he majored in physics, eventually moving on to advanced

education.

His list of accomplishments would take up another full article in and of itself.

5.

Stop Ignoring Your Goals

Stop believing things will just work out for you because you're a good person.

Good things only happen to people who make an effort.

A part of making an effort is setting goals for oneself.

As evidenced in the previous point, it's not enough to just focus on the day at hand.

It's important to manage time and set short-term and long-term goals in order to be able to

track progress and have something to strive for.

Example: Alan Turing is considered the father of artificial intelligence and computers.

He also broke the code to the Nazi encryption machine called Enigma.

He faced many challenges along the way, such as the inability to identify with others and

being charged with indecency, for which he was eventually pardoned.

Despite his personal struggles, though, he managed to break the code for Enigma, saving

approximately 14 million people from death and in turn helped end World War 2.

6.

Stop Isolating People

Successful people understand that not everything is about work, church or similar obligations.

Some things are about family, relaxation, and hobbies.

It's easy to get the impression that everyone who feels or defines themselves as successful

probably has no spare time on their hands, and in some cases, that's true.

However, it isn't always.

Social isolation can kill people.

In fact, many successful people have mastered the art of balance.

They don't isolate the people they love because they have large goals or something

they want to accomplish.

Instead, they incorporate those they love into their goals and hobbies.

Example: According to a recent Forbes article, many leaders feel lonely.

It's okay to know how to work alone and prefer that, but it's also important to

be able to rely on your staff, friends, and family for support.

Involving people in leadership or product processes makes them feel valued and provides

valuable feedback.

Successful people enjoy that relationship.

They also enjoy their time away from their goals and work to spend time with their loved

ones.

7.

Stop Comparing Yourself To Everyone Else

Successful people understand that the only person they can compete with today is the

person they were yesterday.

They are too focused on themselves and their goals to worry about anyone else.

They don't want to compare themselves to others because it's counterproductive.

However, they do analyze where they have weak points and are able to genuinely admire people

who have mastered things they have not.

There is no use to comparing yourself to someone else.

It's counterproductive and harmful to your self-esteem.

It also helps to harbor negative self-dialogue.

Example: Taylor Swift is one of the most successful recording artists of our time, but before

that, she was a struggling musician in Nashville playing at small venues and coffee shops.

She would turn in demos to various studios, covering a variety of songs.

It was only when she started playing and writing her own music that she got noticed and became

the celebrity she is today.

She faced a lot of adversity as well.

There were people who doubted her skills and told her she couldn't sing.

Her confidence and faith in herself overcame that.

8.

Stop Living In The Past

Successful people learn from their failures, but they do not live in the past.

They take the skills and lessons they acquired from their failures and apply them to the

present and future.

Don't live in your own personal past.

Don't define yourself by who you were.

Define yourself by who you are today and by who you're working toward becoming.

Example: Would we even remember Thomas Edison if he gave up on his ideas before becoming

successful?

Can you imagine simply focusing on what happened yesterday?

So what if yesterday was a failure?

Try again!

Failure teaches us about what doesn't work, and helps us get closer to a process that

does work.

Choose your attitude and control it.

Move forward.

Remember, failure is feedback.

9.

Stop Tolerating Dishonest People

Successful people appreciate other people for their unique traits and gifts.

They do not attempt to harm, belittle, or in any way demean others for their own successes

or ideas.

They are open to relationships with others, but know when to cut the cord, so to speak.

People can be too forgiving when it comes to being wronged, and it's important to

know one's limits.

Successful people do not tolerate negative and dishonest people, because they are too

busy loving honest, sincere people.

Example: Everyone.

We have all had frenemies.

We have all invested in people who did not return our investment in them.

Successful people know how to weed these dishonest people out.

No one wants unneeded negativity around themselves or around the people they love.

Well, that's the 9 things you need to stop doing if you want to be successful.

Also, thanks to PHWGaming (he changed his name sadly) for inspiring me to put Captions for commentary :D

It's been a nice summer, consistent videos and me time

Oh man, I should caption my videos more often.

Middlesbrough slap £25m fee on Ben Gibson: Boro don't want to sell, six Prem sides keen

The former England Under-21 international is the nephew of Middlesbrough chairman, Steve Gibson, and has spent his entire career on the Teessiders' books.

Amid their unsuccessful battle against the drop last season he was one of their most impressive performers, earning a senior call-up.

Gibson was linked with a whole host of Premier League big guns over the course of the 2016/17 campaign, including champions Chelsea.

And it seems Middlesbrough are aware Antonio Conte maintains an interest in signing the centre-back after they slapped a hefty price tag on him.

Chelsea reject XI: Mohamed Salah and other players they let go too early   MOHAMED SALAH is set to sign for Liverpool - here's an XI of players who Chelsea sold too early.       GK: Petr Cech  .

Chelsea, Tottenham, Everton, Leicester, Southampton and Stoke are keen on Boro star Ben Gibson. According to TEAMtalk, Boro are demanding £25m before they'll let Gibson leave. And it remains to be seen whether that figure will put would be suitors off.

TEAMtalk claim Chelsea, Tottenham, Everton, Leicester, Southampton and Stoke have been keeping tabs on Gibson.

Ben Gibson impressed despite Middlesbroughs relegation last season. However, new Riverside Stadium gaffer Garry Monk is desperate to keep hold of the 24-year-old. Middlesbrough begin their return to Championship action away to Wolves on Saturday August 5.

And they will be hoping to retain Gibson's services as they look to mount a promotion push.

CHINA is afraid of INDIA so it want Indian troops move out of LAC - Duration: 3:33.

Hello Everyone This is World Conspiracy Daily

India Warns China over the Road Construction in Bhutan's Territory Which is Ally of India

India warned China on Friday that construction of a road near their common border would have

serious security implications, as China's Foreign Ministry denied its troops had violated

the territory of India's ally Bhutan.

The stand-off on a plateau next to the mountainous Indian state of Sikkim, which borders China,

has ratcheted up tension between the two neighbouring giants, who share a 3,500 km (2175 miles)

frontier, parts of which are disputed.

According to the Chinese interpretation of events, Indian guards crossed into China's

Donglang region early in June and obstructed work on a road on a plateau.

Troops from the two sides then confronted each other close to a strategic valley controlled

by China that separates India from Bhutan and gives China access to the so-called Chicken's

Neck, a thin strip of land that connects India to its remote northeastern regions.

Bhutan said on Thursday that the road was being built inside its territory.

Indian media have reported that the dispute began when China removed an old Indian bunker.

"India is deeply concerned at the recent Chinese actions and has conveyed to the Chinese Government

that such construction would represent a significant change of status quo with serious security

implications for India," India's ministry of external affairs said in a statement.

"It is essential that all parties concerned display utmost restraint and abide by their

respective bilateral understandings not to change the status quo unilaterally," the ministry

said.

Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Lu Kang said the road work was going on in an area

that was on the Chinese not Bhutanese side.

China and Bhutan have yet to reach a

final agreement

on demarking their border.

So what do you think of India Warning China

and China Warning India ?

I Want to Roast Simbu - PraveenKumar | TE 01 | #1 | WhistlePodu - Duration: 16:37.

Just like how they say "Baahubali, Baahubali" in the movie

while we are eating Biryani our Vein and Pulse should say " Biryani, Biryani"

They were all my friends.

If a person can't make his friends laugh,

then how would the general audience laugh at his jokes?

So many years since his last movie was released

hasn't that affected your market ?

Saw his recent interview, he has started talking a lot philosophical

but what you tell through your films is not at all that.

To be precise aand concise, I was born in Kanchipuram,

I'm translating the same dialog like how Major Sundarrajan does

From 2002 till 2008 what was Praveen doing ?

This question reminds me of a similar one in "Baasha" movie.

There were only 4 employees in that organisation

Marketing Manager was opening locks there.

Two employees were directly reporting to me there.

Only myself and the male accountant will be at office the whole day.

He used to cook and bring a lot of food from his home.

Oh ! "Male Accountant" has to be noted here

Yes, Stress is on "Male" Accountant

He was married.

He used to get yummy chapathis from home everyday

I was a bachelor then. I used to crave for home food

I send him out and eat his lunch.

I had no other choice but eat chapathis

What's to be noted in this is I used to spend those days usefully.

I used to be active on Orkut !

No other job. Other employees would go home on time.

He used to be on the phone with his wife always

I would have nothing to do. So I decided to be active on Orkut

Orkut had a page/group called "Mokka Podu Machan".

*interviewer* Seriously? was there such a group in Orkut ?

Oh yes! everyone were so busy those days

Looking at my active participation in that group, they opened a fanclub for me in Orkut.

Members would post a lot of silly/useless questions

"How would PraveenKumar frame a question?"

was the trend in that group

I felt something was missing in my life very soon

So I got into blogging. The link is still available online.

No ! Don't judge me by reading that blogpage

That was during 2005-2006

I started writing in Tamil and used Tamil fonts

and then wrote in English. I have tried too many things with that page.

In 2008, I got married

First my parents saw the girl and fixed the alliance

Then I went to see her as a formality.

6 months later

Then I read further and thought standup comedy is a field by itself

and decided to give it a try

I told my friends, I am planning to try standup comedy

I decided to do this and enthusiastically prepared a material for 20mins

It had a lot of internal jokes which BITS Pilani can understand

Once I started my performance, there was silence

Later audience started laughing, not at my jokes but at me !

They can't beleive that I am trying to do comedy.

They were all my friends

If a person can't make his friends laugh, imagine how can he make the others in audience laugh

People who didnt knew me, were all puzzled and just looking at me

It was serious than any Tedx talk

People who knew me were all laughing

MC introduced me as the guy who aims to become the world's best standup comedian

It was my first time on such a big stage.

Usually noone gets it right the first time on stage

I felt this is my crowd and I can make them to laugh.

It was a huge flop.

I know I am a different character.

*Funnily says* I know it is difficult to digest but

this has become very common these days.

Have you got beaten up nicely by your spouse

Audience would start clapping

She can't react and show her anger in that situation

Once we get back home she will *pause*

I can't reveal what happens next here

We shall talk in detail about that offline

She must be having a lot of patience to put up with all this isn't?

My third solo special named Orthodoxically Me had this worst PJ ever.

We call it "Mokkai" in Tamil

I had to have a "houseful" board on my hand

I used to feel ashamed after delivering this joke.

Third Question, Dear God, please help Praveen pick a good card for himself.

Kanchipuram is where I was born. Koramangala embraced me, infact entire Bangalore

I assume the right to write jokes from both the places.

I was born and brought up in a small town.

The amusing differences between Kanchipuram and Koramangala

makes me to come up with more jokes

I see them from a different angle

the amusing differences between Kanchipuram and Koramangala

that's where my jokes are from.

that's where my jokes are from.

Let's go to the next card Praveen, because we have some mischievous questions waiting for you.

*hesitantly* Hope I can safely pick one.

*interviewer asks* Please act like that person for us

The first person who comes to my mind is Alexander Babu

We both went on a UK tour. It was a good experience

He is a carefree person. A person with a don't care attitude

He doesn't get tensed for anything that happens around him.

That's his take on life

Nobody should get tensed because of us, neither should we get tensed

I have never come across such a cool and relaxed personality.

I get up late in the morning. One morning when I got up from bed, I could see only his leg

He was practising Yoga. He was standing upside down. I couldn't understand what was happening.

I bent down and looked at his face, He calmly looked at me and said Hi!

When he goes inside the bathroom, he starts singing loudly.

I didn't miss Ilayaraja during that tour.

Fantastic singer. He always sings this song.

Audience are requested to forgive me for singing this

Especially pregnant ladies and heart patients please don't watch this

Only because I have to mimic Alexander Babu, I am singing this. I am not proving my singing talent through this.

Please don't ask for more. I can't digest this. I hope you won't ask me to dance now .

The moment you said roast, Anjappar Chicken roast is what I can think about.

Everyone gets to roast Simbu these days. Moreover, he has involved himself into spirituality.

That is exactly why I am feel I should roast Simbu.

*interviewer asks* What do you want to ask Simbu ?

I want to ask him about lot of things

So many years since your last movie was released. hasnt that spoilt your market ?

Saw his recent interview, he has started talking a lot philosophical.

I am really doubtful about what he talks is truth or

he says all this just for that interview sake.

He speaks lot of philosophy

but all that isn't seen in his films

His movies carry a lot of unnecessary content

There is no connection at all

Recently he has put on lot of weight as well

Would your next movie review be a Simbu's movie ?

Why not, if his next movie is not good, I will definitely review it

If the movie is made well, I can't review it

In my reviews I only pick movies that are badly made. If the movie is good we have to give the credits,

if it's not good I will talk about it.

Even movies don't have such thrills

Man United WANT Neymar in £170m shock Transfer🙈FAKE | Man United Transfer News - Duration: 8:40.

hello, and welcome to the football Terrorist ladies and

gentlemen the Madness it

continues the Craziness

continues

man United

Have been linked with a lot of players is summer, and we're back to

revisiting being linked with

Someone who is almost untouchable a player?

That would cost so much money you could buy

90% of other football clubs around the world. That's the talk

Was going on that's the astronomical figures connected to Joe St.. Marie neos suppose it

suppose it now pursuit of

Neymar Neymar

Again is linked with a sensational

170 million pound move 170 million pound move it's a Manchester United football club

absolutely

crazy absolutely crazy one of the Craziest transfer rumors I've seen so far in terms of

Thinking that this could plausibly happen now

I'm gonna open my iPad up cuz I just locked it

And we are live in case you're watching the playback of this so this isn't

Pre-recorded in any way shape or form I kind of wanted to touch on this transfer because a couple of years ago

United did try to sign him that's been well-documented

in the Media and by Barcelona

Back in March we were talking about this this potential deal then that it would cost around 200 million pounds

That's the new buyout clause that neymar signed back in

October 2016

Now reading some of this man united of course been linked with Cristiano ran out of this summer

This time last week the press was telling us that Josie had said that he would rather spend that hundred and thirty million pounds on

Harry Kane

Now the media is telling us that he would rather spend that money on

name off

So they're changing their tune slightly

So reading some of this here just reading on the team talk website and as I say I'm reading this now in front of me

On I pad to reiterate things so this was published this morning

Okay, Sonia literally an hour old this is Josie Marino has reportedly told Manchester United's board

He'd rather spend huge money on Neymar than Cristiano Ronaldo

United will linked with a blockbuster moved to re-sign him blah blah blah, but yet until about Ronaldo

But united Chiefs still reportedly exploring the possibility of the portuguese man coming back the reports claimed Josie

still has a frosty relationships that are going down that that fake narrative again that Ronaldo and

Josie Mourinho have a frosty relationship. They can't work together

Three four paragraphs later this is a neymar story by the way and the first four paragraphs are dominated by Ronaldo

says Neymar is still only 25 and

While he would cost more

Please release qualities higher as we said Josie feels the money would be better spent on

Him then the 32 year old Ronaldo listened logic in that I suppose

Unites interest in the Brazilian Forward is nothing new I've already told you this I mean, I'm reading that there and again

There's no source. There's no agent being quoted. There's no board member that it doesn't even say from a source

the son had a son have also gone with this story and

It reads. I mean they might have just taken it. I know this has come out of a foreign publication

We know that that we can open up as well and have a little bit of a look at but again

There's no quotes

There's nothing in here in any way shape or form

I'm at on the actual that I can't read what this is saying because I don't speak the lingo. I want on

the website that broke this news and again

There's nothing here

There's no quotes

There's there's nothing it is purely and simply the media making up a story now of course many knighted

Interested in name are of course Manchester united are interested in rene though bale

Messi Suarez, they are the creme. De La creme. They are the best football players on the planet

but to write these stories

With no found look when neil custer's wrote the story two years ago in the sun

talking about Ronaldo sorry talking about Neymar being the Target of

United

he was

Quoting things he was giving explanations

You know he spoke about woodward talking to the board how much money was offered why it was rejected?

There was whether you like him or not?

He was at least able to give some substance

He was able to at least talk about the deal and try and bring it to life

This is different. This is pure drivel pure dribble

Absolute dross Absolute Nonsense

Absolute Nonsense

I've never read anything so bad in my life

I genuinely mean that if you're only just tuning in if only just tuning in to the live stream now

Rewind this video back to the start and hear what I had to say from the beginning, but I will reiterate slightly

but

Accordance with a lot of people out there supposedly many night are gonna go and try and sign emmer

Supposedly yes

A lot of it was saying fake news a lot of people saying that

Joe say Mourinho is urging the Manchester United Board to sign him

There's no quote

There's no dossier

There's nothing

Absolutely nothing that makes me believe this deal even has one

Ounce of Credibility within it one ounce of credibility within it not one

Absolutely not one at all

I've just sat here and read through

Six different news web websites that three of them are national newspapers in the uk the words are the same

They just copy and paste him from each other

filling up timelines with it's

Absolute bullshit

It's not even what of course it'd be an excellent sight it's not even worth the debate

I'll only talk about this is a credible move and even debate the player where would feeling how would do

There's nothing substantial here

He told a ball who told a board member who told the journalist that the board this was said

Joe says not even in jersey don't even even been around to talk to the board

And a few people commenting now saying you never know it could happen of course it could happen you do never know in football I

Put my hands up and say that

but it's

foundationless

The transfer market and the media surrounding it is so convoluted

people changing their story every single week

making up lies creating

absolute Nonsense and and stories like this it is so frustrating because

All they're designed to do is frustrate man united fans. I mean

There are over

10,000 web sites around the world running this story right now

10,000 web sites running a complete and utter lie

10,000 sites with a lie on them

What does this Trump commission want to do with states' voter information? - Duration: 4:00.

JUDY WOODRUFF: Now to President Trump's repeated and unsubstantiated claim that three to five

million votes were cast illegally in the 2016 election.

He set up a special commission to investigate, but one of its first acts has drawn condemnation

from across the country.

Hari Sreenivasan is here with that.

HARI SREENIVASAN: Yesterday, the vice chair of that commission sent a letter to all 50

states asking for voter data that includes addresses, party I.D., voter history, and

Social Security information.

The commission asked that data be sent to the White House by mid-July, but didn't say

how it would be used, other than to examine for vulnerabilities in the system.

We take a closer look now with Rick Hasen.

He is a law professor at the University of California, Irvine.

He writes the Election Law blog.

Rick, the "NewsHour"'s been reaching out to states all day long.

And we have got nine definite no's, 18 that might comply in whole or in part, and a few

other states that are still looking at it.

Often, what we hear there is that there are apparently laws on the books in certain states

that prohibit, even if it's public information, who can look at the information and why it

can be looked at.

Explain.

RICK HASEN, University of California, Irvine: Well, some of this information, depending

on the state, is available publicly.

People can buy it.

Some of this is not available.

And, in fact, just before we came on, I saw a story that Kris Kobach himself, the personal

who has asked for this information, he himself cannot produce the Social Security numbers

that he has demanded because that would violate the law in the state of Kansas.

This doesn't seem to have been very well thought out.

Not only do we not know what the information is going to be used exactly to do.

It doesn't appear that this information even legally can be provided by a lot of the states.

HARI SREENIVASAN: So, Kris Kobach, as his role as secretary of state of Kansas, can't

provide the information that he's asking for, right?

RICK HASEN: To himself.

That's right.

HARI SREENIVASAN: Got it.

Right.

All right, what about the scope of the investigation?

There seems to be a lot of focus on measuring or protecting the integrity one person, one

vote.

I don't see any description in here about any Russian meddling that might have happened.

RICK HASEN: Well, so it's not clear exactly what this commission is going to do.

Initially, the president said he wanted to look into the potential for voter fraud.

There are a couple of Democrats on the commission who said that they wanted to look into Russian

meddling.

Kobach said he might be open to that, but that wasn't on the list of questions that

was sent to various state election officials.

It's not clear what this group is going to do, what it's going to produce.

But I'm concerned that it's going to be something that is just going to try to support the president's

agenda, claiming that there's a lot of voter fraud, and use that to make it harder for

people to be able to register to vote.

HARI SREENIVASAN: Is this the kind of information that a campaign really would pay money for?

RICK HASEN: Well, in some states, campaigns do pay money for this kind of information.

The fact that the information is going to sent to the president's office is concerning.

Rather than having outside professional staff or rather than having social scientists who

study this information, we know that this information is going literally to the executive

office of the president.

We don't know how it's going to be kept.

We don't know how secure it's going to be, on what kind of servers.

We don't have any information.

But the concerns about privacy, about identity theft, about the information being used for

political purposes, I think these are all legitimate questions to be asked.

HARI SREENIVASAN: And, finally, is there a question here on the role of the federal government?

There seemed to be some pushback from states when it came to the Department of Homeland

Security going out to them, saying we have this potential for hacking, we would like

to help you secure your networks.

RICK HASEN: Absolutely.

There has been this long tradition, especially on the Republican side, of talking about federalism

and states' rights in this area.

And we're even seeing some pushback now from states like Mississippi that are saying they

are not going to cooperate with providing this information to the federal government.

HARI SREENIVASAN: All right, Rick Hasen, a professor at University of California, Irvine,

thanks so much.

RICK HASEN: Thank you.

15 CURIOUSLY INAPPROPRIATE THINGS YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO DO (but shouldn't) - Duration: 2:27.

Welcome back.

You know I'm a pretty clever cat but even with all my cleverness, sometimes I just want

to cat out and do some inappropriate things.

Don't you?

Bet you do so here is a catlike list of curiously inappropriate things to do to help you out

You totally want to Step on the back of the shoes of that guy walking really, really slow

in front of you.

And then hurry down a side aisle before he turns around.

Pretend you don't notice that neighbor or co worker whose standing in the checkout line

next to you despite the fact that you actually saw them smile and wave.

Sing real loud, and off key, while you're waiting in line – at the bank, at McDonald's

or even at the library.

Walk right next to a stranger at the exact same pace going wherever they go until they

freak out and go the other way.

Wait until Christmas dinner is over and instead of lying and saying thanks, that was great

say next year we order pizza.

Spend the entire day really doing nothing but shush everyone who tries to talk to you.

Whenever anyone asks how you are answer "Why can't you just leave me alone?"

Or as an alternative – when someone starts to tell you about their life answer, "I

really don't care"

And you know you want to spend the day Wandering around talking to your invisible friend just

to see people's faces..

And its always catlike to Show up late to every event and then go to the bathroom as

soon as you do finally arrive.

Or how about When someone asks you for a favor, try to just say no.

No explanation.

No remorse.

Just no.

And it would feel great to Throw your body on the floor and scream, kick and cry next

time you get frustrated, angry, tired or hungry.

Hey – kids do it.

And every cat ever knows there is a time to Walk away in the middle of someone else's

long, probably boring story.

Then there is the classic where you can Respond to people who do stupid, irritating things

by telling them I voted to have all the warning labels removed and your days are numbered.

From now on just Call everyone honey or dear or sweetie so you don't have to be bothered

remembering their names.

Grandma types do it – you could too.

SO there you have fifteen curiously inappropriate things you know you want to do but probably

shouldn't.

If you do, tell me about it because as a cat, these things seem completely rational to me

and I want to hear how humans react.

In the meantime.

Click subscribe because I'll be back tomorrow with something curious to share.

I want to go to Scotland!

Scotland is a fascinating country famous for its national and cultural traditions, beautiful music and dance, kilts, and whiskey. It's the homeland of the famous Loch Ness Monster, a.k.a. ''Nessie''.

But there's more to Scotland than just stereotypes. Its natural landscape is striking and diverse: soft pastoral views combine with the rugged beauty of its mountains, purple heather stretching to the horizon, and breathtaking views of the ocean.

This is a country for those who want to become one with nature and delve into the depths of history. We here at Bright Side have fallen head over heels in love with Scotland, and prepared a series of the most incredible photos of it to make sure you feel the same way!.

25 absolutely mesmerizing photos you don't want to miss - Duration: 8:08.

25 absolutely mesmerizing photos you don't want to miss

25 absolutely mesmerizing photos you don't want to miss Throughout the years, photographers from all around the world have been submitting their works to National Geographic. Seasoned professionals and rookies alike have done their best to capture unique moments and snap truly breathtaking photos.

Bright Side selected a few of the most memorable images from the National Geographic archives. Lighthouse, Portugal A huge ocean storm, Porto, Portugal, January 2013.

Close up of a human eye, Armenia Beauty is in the eye of a 16-year-old boy in Yerevan. In this highly magnified view of his iris's surface architecture, the central black pool is the pupil, and his lashes are reflected by the cornea.

His eyelids appear as pink rims at the top and bottom.   A tardigrade, Germany A color-enhanced electron microscope photo reveals a half-millimeter-long tardigrade in the moss.

Penguin pair, Antarctica "I took this picture at Port Lockroy during my trip to Antartica in 2010"' says the photographer. "The two penguins almost touching flippers, looking at each other, and captured against the majestic frozen background, seemed romantically involved. © Marius Ilies.

Fennec fox, Morocco The fennec (lat. Vulpes zerda), or desert fox, is a canine mammal species of the genus Vulpes, which inhabits the Sahara Desert and Arabia.

The name comes from the Arab word 'fanak', which means 'a fox'. Cherry blossoms, Nakameguro Nakameguro, Tokyo is one of the most famous places for admiring the blossoming cherry trees in the middle of the city.

Reflection, Hungary Misty summer photo, Nagykanizsa, Hungary. Carezza Lake, Italy "Carezza Lake is a pearl of the Dolomiti", says the photographer. "Nestled between an ancient forest of grand firs and the Latemar mountain is place of legends and beauty. a nymph lives under its emerald waters.

Eastern screech owlets Eastern screech owls like to take over woodpecker nests that have been dug out over the years in pine trees, which are the main species of tree at this swamp.

Screech owls can range in height anywhere from eight to ten inches, so you have to have a sharp eye to find these little birds of prey.   Fjord, Western Norway Western Norway's fjords — like Nærøyfjorden, northeast of Bergen — are a part of UNESCO World Heritage site.

Iguazu Falls The most accurate description of Iguazu Falls, located on the border of Brazil and Argentina, belongs to the wife of US President Franklin Roosevelt, Eleanor: Poor Niagara! This makes Niagara look like a kitchen faucet. Photo by Dmitry Moiseenko, Stanislav Sedov, Sergei Semenov / AirPano.

Lions, Serengeti For male Serengeti lions like Hildur and C-Boy, teamwork is essential. They work together to retain control over two prides. Owl and mouse, Minnesota Great gray owls come south from Canada into Minnesota during the winter to find food.

Waterfall, Iceland It took three years to get this image — to align the waterfall and northern lights that are strong enough to light up the whole surroundings. Parson russell terrier, USA It's splashdown for Lulu, a Parson Russell terrier playing underwater fetch in a pool in Phoenix, Arizona.

The clinching moment required familiarity with the photographer, about ten dive attempts, aquatic acuity, and perfect timing.   Badgers, Finland On a summer night, a family of badgers filed into the kitchen from a tunnel they dug under the fireplace.

It took four years before Fagerström finally caught the skittish, nocturnal weasels. For this shot, he set his camera on a windowsill, then stood outside on a ladder for hours before pressing the shutter via remote control.

The largest raft of canoes and kayaks in the world, USA On Fourth Lake in New York's Adirondacks, a crush of 1,902 canoes and kayaks attempts to break a 'largest raft' world record. Rules dictate that the megastructure float freely for at least 30 seconds, held together only by hands.

Red pandas, Lincoln Children's Zoo Twin three-month-old red pandas (lat. Ailurus fulgens fulgens) huddle together at the Lincoln Children's Zoo. Sartore photographed the pair as part of his Photo Ark project, through which he is documenting thousands of rare species. Photo by Joel Sartore.

Ice diamond, Iceland An 800-pound chunk of ice glows in moonlight on a wintry Icelandic beach. The ice washed up in a lagoon formed by a receding glacier.

Photographer James Balog calls these pieces ice diamonds, finding beauty as well as tragedy in disappearing glaciers.   Lake Wakatipu, New Zealand These trees stand like guardians at the top of Lake Wakatipu on New Zealand's South Island.

The picture was taken on a very cold morning, and the sun had just broken the horizon behind the photographer. Landscape, Latvia This image was taken in Lielvārde, Latvia.

Pyramid of Chichén Itzá A pyramid 90 feet tall testifies to the former glory of Chichén Itzá, and it is now a popular tourist destination. This once powerful city was built in about the ninth century, likely aligned with four sacred cenotes and with the sun's seasonal movements.

Mountains, Chile This photo was taken on the edge of Chile's Torres del Paine National Park. A giraffe, Tanzania I was sitting on the grass photographing a powerful sunset when I looked back to see this curious giraffe slowly approaching.

The distant storm was glowing with the last light of the day, and as I lifted my camera, the giraffe froze for one photo before turning toward the hills. Photo by Peter Stanley. We'd love to hear your views on this….

20 Utterly Fascinating Abandoned Sites You'll Want to Visit - Duration: 10:16.

20 Utterly Fascinating Abandoned Sites You'll Want to Visit

20 Utterly Fascinating Abandoned Sites You'll Want to Visit We here at Bright Side were dumbfounded by the following sights. Our hands were still trembling when we uploaded pictures for you to see — they are easily the eeriest (but also the most exciting) places in the world.

The combination of excitement and danger in these photos arouses some contradictory feelings — you are afraid to look, yet you can't take your eyes off them.

The way nature can make humans seem like they're nothing at all makes you think of your own insignificance in the face of time.

Sanzhi ghost town, Taiwan This town was planned as a luxurious seashore resort for local wealthy men, but when the construction began, the oddities began, too. Dozens of workers died, having fallen from high above (even with safety ropes on) or crushed by broken cranes.

The locals believed the town to be inhabited by evil spirits. There were terrifying stories of Japanese death camps that had been situated around there a long time ago.

Naturally, by the end of 1980s, the construction halted. The apartments were left empty, but the local government is still preserving the town because the people believe that demolishing it will let the evil spirits loose.

Beelitz abandoned military hospital, Germany The town that this hospital is situated in is 25 miles (40 km) away from Germany's capital. In the times of WWI and WWII, the hospital was actively used by the military.

In 1916, Adolf Hitler himself was admitted there. Citizens left the town in 1995, and it has been deteriorating ever since.

Floor #8 of the 'Dagdiesel' plant, Makhachkala, Dagestan This marine weaponry test facility was commissioned in 1939, is situated roughly 1.5 miles (2.7 km) from the coast, and has long been abandoned. Its construction was lengthy and difficult due to the building conditions.

Unfortunately, the floor served for a very short time: in April of 1966, after the requirements for the work done there had changed, the grand building was decommissioned from the plant.

Today, this hulk stands deserted in the Caspian Sea, looking like a great ancient beast from the shore. Lier mental asylum, Norway The Norwegian psychiatric hospital in a small town of Lier, located half an hour's car ride from Oslo, has a dark history.

Patients underwent experimental methods of treatment, and in 1985, four buildings were left in a hurry for no obvious reason. All the equipment, beds, and even the hospital logs and personal effects of the inmates stayed in the deserted facilities.

It's interesting, however, that the remaining eight buildings still operate as usual.   Gunkanjima Island, Japan The real name of this island is Hashima, but it was nicknamed 'Gunkanjima,' which means 'battleship island.' It was first settled in 1810 when charcoal was found there.

In the following fifty years, it became the most densely populated island in the world. 5300 people lived there but the radius of the island itself was only about a half a mile.

In 1974, however, the charcoal and other fossil sources were depleted, and people gradually left Gunkanjima. Access to the island today is restricted, but the locals have quite a few stories to tell about this place.

Kowloon Walled City, Hong Kong, China This city was located in Hong Kong, but the Chinese government had no real power there, as it was ruled by the mob. It eventually created its own government.

Prostitution and drug trafficking prospered there. In addition, the city-within-the-city was not devoid of industry — it produced, on a semi-primitive level, noodles and other small items.

The produce of such enterprises cost a ton of money, as there were no taxes and employment laws were blatantly defied. The district also had its own nursing home, kindergarten, and school district.

The population density in the early '90s was about 2 million people per square mile. It is then that the painstaking process of eviction began, and by 1995, the namesake park was opened in place of the city.

Some of the historical artefacts were preserved, such as the Yamen building and the remains of the South Gate.

Abandoned Hotel del Salto, Colombia In 1924, a luxurious hotel called Refugio El Salto was established in the town of San Antonio del Tequendama, but it was soon closed due to the much-too-frequent suicides of the guests. This place is shrouded in an aura of mystery and is rumored to be haunted.

San Juan Parangaricutiro church, Mexico The church, located in a village with the same name, was buried in lava in 1944 along with the whole village when the Paricutin volcano erupted.

However, the altar and the bell-tower stayed miraculously intact amidst the ruins of the church itself; the protruding cones of hardened lava look like they're from another planet.   Shi Cheng underwater city, China This incredible city is 1341 years old.

Shi Cheng, or the Lion City, was flooded during the construction of a hydro power plant. The city got completely submerged and is now surrounded by one of the most picturesque man-made lakes of the 1078 islands.

Kolmanskop ghost town, Namibia The ghost town of Kolmanskop was founded in a place where small diamonds were once found — they were brought there by an ocean wind.

Large and beautiful houses, a school, a hospital, and a stadium were built there; the rural settlement soon transformed into an exemplary German town.

Everyone had high hopes of prosperity and longevity, but alas, the 'diamond stock' was soon depleted, and the inhabitants left the city, having trouble with water and sandstorms. Most of the houses that were built are buried in sand, which creates a dark atmosphere.

Pripyat, Ukraine This is an abandoned city two miles away from the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. After the catastrophe of 1986, the town became a part of the exclusion area and, consequently, an image of the frightful power of nuclear energy.

Tours are organized there today, and stalkers roam the streets. The place still enchants many, and more and more urban legends are born there every year.

Nara Dreamland theme park, Japan The park was established in 1961 but closed in the late '90s because of underfunding. It had all the attributes of a typical amusement park: a roller coaster, carousel, castle, water slides, arcade machines, and much more.

Now it's clean and quiet, there is almost no graffiti, and all of the buildings still have their equipment and facilities.   Michigan Central Station, USA The station was constructed in 1913, and for some time, it was a large railway park.

But on January 5, 1988, the last train left its rails. The next day the station was closed, and the building has been slowly crumbling since.

Communist Party Headquarters, Bulgaria The place where the Bulgarian Communist Party meetings were held looks eerie both on the inside and outside. This building, resembling a UFO, was abandoned after the fall of the communist regime.

Today the site looks quite sinister. Sunken yacht, Antarctic This creepy ghost ship is actually a Brazilian yacht that was wrecked in the Ardley Cove. Brazilians tried to shoot a documentary about the ship, but strong winds and the stormy sea made them leave the site.

We'd love to hear your views on this….
