TRUMP DISMANTLES MAJOR PIECE OF OBAMA'S LEGACY – HERE WE GO!

During his time in the White House, Barack Obama championed explicit sexual education

programs that were given to young children.

Now that Donald Trump is in office, however, he is doing away with all of that.

The Hill reported that Trump's White House has just announced that they will be shifting

federal funding that goes towards reducing teenage pregnancy to abstinence programs.

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced that unlike what happened

under the Obama administration, funding will be given to organizations that teach abstinence

education to teens instead of the comprehensive sex ed approach the previous administration

supported.

All organizations that want funding will have to follow one of two abstinence programs.

The first programs uses a "sexual risk reduction model," which is designed to reduce sexual

risk behaviors, and the second uses a "sexual risk avoidance model," which teaches teens

to avoid sex completely.

"Projects will clearly communicate that teen sex is a risk behavior for both the physical

consequences of pregnancy and sexual transmitted infections; as well as sociological, economic

and other related risks," the funding announcement reads.

"Both risk avoidance and risk reduction approaches can and should include skills associated

with helping youth delay sex as well as skills to help those youth already engaged in sexual

risk to return toward risk-free choices in the future."

In contrast, Obama's administration typically gave funding to organizations that taught

comprehensive sex education, which can include teaching teens about contraception and abstinence.

Democrats, of course, are furious about what Trump is doing.

"Both Democrats and Republicans have supported investing in evidence-based approaches to

preventing teen pregnancy, so it is disappointing — and deeply concerning — that the Trump-Pence

Administration is doing everything it can to undermine these investments in ways that

take us in the absolutely wrong direction on this issue," said Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.),

ranking member of the Senate Health Committee.

"These changes show yet again that the Trump-Pence Administration's priority is imposing its

extreme, backwards ideology, no matter what that means for women, families, and communities."

Wreckfest Review: The Dirtier Version of Forza is Finally Here - Duration: 4:50.

Hello Guy's And Wellcome To My Channel GamesTalk.

In This Video We Are Going To Talk About Wreckfest Review: The Dirtier Version of Forza is Finally Here.

Imagine a demolition derby but with slightly armored lawnmowers where you can destroy and

run over the drivers of the other landscaping equipment?

That's something you can do in Wreckfest, the new, but super long-in-development racing

game from developer Bugbear and publisher THQ Nordic.

Wreckfest is a demolition themed racing game currently available on PC and coming to PlayStation

4 and Xbox One this fall that embraces the dirtier side of what players will recognize

as a game design very similar to the Forza series.

It features actual derbies with challenges to wreck opponents, alongside a variety of

more traditional racing options for different classes of vehicles for both solo and online

multiplayer play.

And it plays great too if you have racing wheel or controller.

Wreckfest is a little awkward to play with a keyboard, as are most racing titles.

Online play however, can be messy to get into but worthwhile for the derby matches.

There were a little over 100 servers each time we checked and most of them are empty,

with a few nearly full at all times.

There are quality of life issues with how the lobby works (Typing in lobby chat for

instance will switch the control scheme away from controller to keyboard, and resets you

back to not ready, meaning you can miss the race start) but it's all worth it if you can

get into a derby match.

We can't stress enough how fun having up to 24 players trying to smash each other in an

effort to get the most takedowns is.

And it almost doesn't matter what class if vehicle you can bring.

Our highlight match saw a mix of muscle cars and trucks, three buses, and one giant piece

of farm equipment all speeding around an enclosed map which looked like a live-action version

of a Rocket League stadium as car parts (and cars) flew all over the place.

It was spectacular, fun, and hilarious.

It's what Wreckfest does so well but it needs the player counts to support that.

Racing is fun too, certainly.

Wreckfest is visually impressive, with interesting and varied track designs that take advantage

of the slip-and-side off-raid racing style and paved circuits.

There are tiny, super intense tracks, and larger, longer races - many of which feature

obstacles for player vehicles to crash through and send flying.

The same can be said for the vehicles themselves which offer an impressive mount of detail,

especially when they're in pieces...

There's highly detailed damage modelling for all of Wreckfest's vehicles (yes, you can

damage parts on the lawnmowers too) which alongside the game's physics are the highlight

of the game.

Gameplay is built around a career-style progression system where there are circuits and events

to play to earn points to unlock the next set, and once a full set is complete, you

can access the next one.

The interface and career system looks straight out of the Forza Motorsport games and so we're

going to keep making that comparison.

There's a lot to do, and players can customize their vehicles along the way, from the visual

side with colors and decals, to tuning actual parts and armor, and upgrading their rides

along the way.

Again, it's remarkably similar to Forza and that's not a bad thing, even if it doesn't

have the same polish.

While the game offers a path for progression and unlocking championships and with them,

more vehicles, along the way - it's really the driving where Wreckfest stands out.

The physics and damage systems encourage and reward aggressive techniques, even if it's

just the visual pleasure of flying tires and crushed up cars doing flips.

On a short race, players my find themselves drop from the top three to back of the pack

because of how an unlucky pile-up occurred around a sharp bend, but that's okay.

Restart again.

Wreckfest does one thing notably better than other racers - it makes repeating a race for

a better position more worth it.

You don't feel so bad losing positioning when it's because of onscreen mayhem.

The onscreen mayhem is the reward.

There are also challenges attached to events which help encourage some, let's say, risky

behavior.

The price point on Wreckfest is steep given its offerings versus other major racers but

what's there is worthwhile.

Wreckfest looks great and runs great but doesn't go as deep as we hoped and the question is

whether or not it has staying power.

Post-launch content is promised that'll add more, but Wreckfest is more for the hardcore

and already-sold-on-it players who we expect will be satisfied, at least until the next

racer comes along.

New Mom? Here's What To Expect From Your Post-Baby Period | Madge the Vag | Scary Mommy - Duration: 4:21.

- If you could describe your post baby period in one word

what would it be?

- Uh, messy.

- Oh, yeah.

- Disaster.

- Crime scene.

- What did you wear to prepare for it?

- Nothing, I didn't know it was coming.

- Oh, no.

- Yeah.

- Super old school.

- Pads.

- Yeah, like a canoe, like that's,

and then you wear to.

- Ah pregnancy, the precious time when your body grows

a baby and your period goes on vacay.

But what happens when the baby comes

and your period's back to business as usual?

Twat's up ladies, I'm Madge the Vag

and today we're gettin' all the info on your post baby flow.

- What do you think these babies are?

- I mean they look like underwear.

- Well they are, but they're more than just underwear.

You can wear Thinx in place of a tampon or pad,

or in addition to.

If it's like a super soaker down there,

you got this for extra backup.

You wanna feel 'em?

- Sure.

- Don't worry I haven't worn 'em yet.

(laughs)

They are super absorbent, antibacterial lining

and have a leak proof barrier.

Can you imagine in one panty?

- Where does it go?

- On your body, Helen, put 'em on.

(bright music)

So we're talking about not just periods,

but post baby periods.

Totally different.

What the heck about my hole,

now that I've had a baby do I have to like you know upgrade

all my feminine products to XXL?

- You don't need to upgrade the size,

but you are likely going to need a higher absorbency

during the first few periods.

Whether you're using tampons, pads

or any other absorbable feminine product.

- Well what if I've had like an episiotomy or something

can I still use a tampon, or?

- You can, it might be a little sore at first

because the tissue is still healing.

And your estrogen levels dropped significantly

after you deliver, which can make the vagina dry

for the first couple of months.

Some of the absorbable underwear is another option.

I think more active people would prefer something

that allows them to be free and not feel like

they're being constricted with a pad.

(uneasy music)

- Will it be the same like it was before?

Will it be on schedule or is this gonna be like playing

a game of chance or throwing darts not knowing

what you're gonna get?

- So it can be different than what you had

before you got pregnant.

The first one is gonna be different no matter what.

It's most likely going to be heavier because.

- Like Niagara Falls?

- The first one could be.

Especially with a first pregnancy your uterus

is used to being the size of my fist,

when you have a baby, your uterus is about up here,

like right underneath your ribs.

So it has to contract down,

but until it fully contracts down

which can even take up to five to six weeks,

the cavity where your lining is,

is bigger than you used to be.

So there's gonna be more tissue there to come out.

- So it doesn't easy win, it wants to party like it's 1999.

- Again, if you are breastfeeding you're less likely

to be ovulating, you could have periods each month

or they might skip a month of two

and that's not necessarily because you're ovulating

but it could be what we call Anovulatory Cycle.

The lining's still getting a little bit thicker

or it's just intermittent spotting

that can happen especially if you're breastfeeding.

If you're not breastfeeding,

usually your period comes back within

about two to three months.

It's probably gonna come every month after that

if your periods before pregnancy were regular.

If you had a history of skipping months at a time,

it can still skip months at a time.

- There you have it.

Well hopefully not yet.

(laughs)

The upside, you have a beautiful baby,

and your period to boot.

Thankfully you have options for your post baby period.

And maybe now you won't have to Thinx about it so hard.

I'm Madge the Vag, if you have any questions

or comments, put 'em in my box.

My inbox that is.

Becoming More Aware Drains Your Energy And Here Is How To Recharge It - Duration: 4:17.

you

according to abraham-hicks we have two vibrational vantage points which are our

inner being in our physical body in becoming fully conscious our role is to

align these two but the process wouldn't be easy because as you start to align

yourself with your inner being who you really are the energy moves faster

causing you to get drained all along here is the main reason becoming more

aware drains your energy becoming more aware drains your energy how to recharge

raising your vibration once you start to raise your vibration through positivity

appreciation and meditation you're focusing your conscious mind and

awareness into how the accumulated emotions inside your inner being feel

like you're more conscious in the realization of the blending because your

attention is being called to it and you can't exist in your physical body

without being replenished and refueled by the source energy whether or not your

emotions are stronger you're just more aware of them

this hyper awareness of your emotions is draining at first but it's just because

you still have resistance towards these emotions that you kept inside yourself

unfilled for so long the vibrational gap the faster your inner being vibrates the

less able you are at keeping up with it it's the realization of this gap that

drains your energy this vibrational gap stands between who you really are and

who you are allowing yourself to be the drag that you feel might be caused by

two things either you're moving in a different direction or your inner being

is having a growth spurt that you can barely manage managing the gap your role

is to manage that gap through processing your emotions and thoughts this is one

of the challenges down the path to awakening

but when you know you're moving in the right direction it's much easier for you

to manage this gap even if it would take quite a time let your emotions be felt

and trust the process how to recharge your energy there are many conscious

ways to replenish your drained energy here are some proven options that work

go back to nature and ground yourself use your voice and sing a song or talk

to a trusted friend spend time with a loved one who lifts your spirits up move

your body through physical activities like walking dancing or biking the

choices are limitless if everything else fails you can do the act of surrender

acknowledge the emotions and allow the universe to take control doing the right

things to manage the gap depends on your preferences on what truly resonates with

you and when you're consistent with it you

will soon realize that the blending of your two vantage points no longer drains

you this is the greatest thing that could happen to you through your

awakening journey

BEACH BOYZ TV IS **OFFICIALLY** HERE!! - Duration: 9:26.

Beach Boyz TV!

Imitate a crocodile...

Crocodile?

Do you know where the beach is?

No.

Do you know where the beach is?

Uh, in Vancouver (BC).

Nice.

How do I get to Vancouver?

Just take a bus.

Yea, Yeah.

Do you like it here at [Prince's Island Park]?

So we have a fan here, what's your name?

I see...

Are you enjoying the park today, sir?

*HISS!!*

Ohkay.

What's your name?

Hello!

Oui, oui! Hahahaha.

What's going on guys it's Austin here with Beach Boyz TV and

Uh, I just wanted to go over some things that you would probably be interested in

So first thing, I really like gaming gaming is really fun

Um, Gaming is also really hard.

I choose you- *fumble*

It just fills that competitive nature.

I choose you, Pikachu!

When you're battling other people...

I choose you!

When you're trying to find, you know, legendary Pokemon

When it gets so crazy...

Pikachu, I choose you!

You kind of get caught up in it

That's why I like gaming

I also like I like being a student. No, I don't...

I am a C student... C for coffee

C for average Joe... Actually no, that's- that's an A student

Studying is sometimes difficult

Trying to learn quantum mechanics in kinesiology- that's also difficult

Some- sometimes my my book order list, at the library, is a little extensive...

I might take it a little bit too far

Especially for a C student

I definitely take it too far for- for a C student. Not even the A students are checking out as many books as I am

Sometimes you just need a backpack that carries your backpack

-cause you don't want your homework falling through your backpack

News flash

saying that you lost your homework inside your backpack doesn't work

Just saying...

I'm also a Personal Trainer.

Sometimes it's really difficult. It's almost like working with an inanimate object

People are hard to train.

Sometimes you gott- you gotta yell at them. Yelling at them...

Really works!

-and then... when you're done just high five them- THAT'S IT!

and then they're like, "Yeah! I'll show up again next time!"

So that's what the personal training life is like

Okay

So we're just talking about what I do it's not about the introduction like "Oh, w- what's up, I am Genadi from...

Alright!

One of my biggest passion is snow boarding.

When I snowboard, I feel alive.

and nothing is going to stop me!

I need more SPEED!

I feel alive. I feel free.

-I feel excited

it just makes me goosebumps

I just love doing it and I will not give up on it.

I'm getting very - yeah last season. I did 360s many 360. I didn't think I'm gonna do in that season

I thought to wait for another season, but then somehow I make it out. Yeah, that's the BEST!

Second thing I really love to do is, I love boxing

I love Muay Thai.

-but I was fighting a lot and I didn't know how to get to fight

So I was getting beaten a lot

Which, I wasn't happy about so it- life brought me into muay thai to learn how to

Defend myself.

and now it's being like four and a half- five years of me doing it, and I just love it

I fight. I give my all. I challenge myself. I love to learn the proper techniques. I just love doing it

But at the end I will never forget to hug my bag because it's all for love

Stroke the shaft.

And the last thing which is one of my other favorite things do it now is

PUBLIC SPEAKING!

I love public speaking. Why? -because that was one of the things that I was really, really afraid of -I couldn't -just the idea of public

was just like..

like a Kwasaki Ninja...

-so fast.

I was sweating. My knees were shaking. -Couldn't even speak.

My mouth go dry.

it was so, So, SO, SCARY in the beginning!

I somehow I found the energy, the- [x2] courage to go and do the public speaking

I'm not scared.

I am scared.

I'm excited. I can hear them, it fills my heart. It gives me fuel -It gives me energy.

I'm ready

All right. We'll see you out there.

Welcoming, GENADI!

Hello, Calgary!

Thank you for coming!

Calgary! I want to hear you! Be loud!

I have a dream.

-That every public speaker... will speak in front of an audience!

But over the time I built up one more I get I went again and again and again and again and now I love it

I have still a little fear and

Nervousness around that but I I just do I just do it any way you can I love sharing. I love contributing

That's what makes me happy

Yeah

One, two, three..

Hi everybody, this is Tim from- with-

cut, cut cut

Just... restart from the beginning

Hi everybody...

This...

[QUACK]

One, two, three..

The first wha- the first...

[QUACK]

[QUACK]

So, just explain a little bit about me, right? That's just the purpose of this video?

Yeah, ok cool

K- so w-w- wait...

So, just a little bit about me is I really like photography

I started out- I was taking pictures. I'm really into like landscape photography and anything to do with nature

when I'm out in nature and

Taking pictures of buildings and the things around me. I feel like it's a good way for me to express myself

Some of my other hobbies include

*whispers* my storeeeee

Painting.

Painting is really good.

I paint portraits as well. I feel like... artistic

From time to time.

It's just good to let out your

artistic ability sometimes.

And uh- Lastly, I also like

to read

I like to read a different variety of things

Personally, my favorite books are self-development and well-being books.

I think it makes me a more well rounded person and...

for self-development and just growing as a person

becoming better every day and

You know knowledge in the end is power right?

The more you know, the more you can succeed in life

Je vous bien

Here's Why You Don't Mess With The Quiet Ones, They Are The Ones Who Actually Think - Duration: 4:54.

Quiet is associated with introverts, and you definitely should never mess with them.

As you may not know, the quiet person is the one who actually possess great ideas and they

can listen to everything that is going on around them.

We may have made all kinds of wrong assumptions about these people, and often times, people

thought of them as less intelligent.

Most people assume that quiet people are weak and submissive, but the truth is, quiet people

are usually strong and creative.

While they seem to be an easy target to bully or mistreat, they are not quite what they

seem.

Here's at least 8 reasons why you should never mess with the quiet one.

If you're new to our channel, Please subscribe, click the bell and watch this video until

the end to know the complete information.

Why You Don't Mess With The Quiet Ones, They Are The Ones Who Actually Think.

#1 - Quiet people are quiet.

From the outside, they are easy to spot, because they are being quiet most of the time.

They often can get through life without being noticed.

So, if you really think you can mess with the quiet one, when in fact you can't realize

what they're doing, or even their existence at all, then that is a terrible idea.

#2 - They listened a lot.

Quiet people tend to know more information than those who speak a loud.

The reason is simply because they listen as they do not get chance to speak up.

Additionally, quiet people tend to focus more on the content of the discussion instead of

roaming around out of the topic.

#3 - Observance.

They can understand people better than the louder counterparts.

They observe things in detail, in careful manner.

It is no wonder why they also can notice inauthentic behavior.

Picking up this subtle emotion is not easy, and it is worth noting that introverts upgrade

this skill throughout the course of their life.

#4 - They are not weak.

Even though quiet people probably will not say anything, they actually will.

It is only when the things go out of the track.

Sometimes conversation can be misleading due to saturated information expressed in a careless

manner.

Quiet people will speak up when they notice something that does not feel right.

#5 - Having different social skills.

Please do not compare social skills of quiet people and extroverts.

The reason is simply because they use different strategy.

Quiet people use social skills based on trust and respect.

In utilizing this skillset, it requires small number of people to work.

#6 - Determined.

When it comes to relationship, introverts or quiet people can create special bound based

on trust.

They also have ideas that must be realized.

When they do, they will make others surprised.

#7 - Intolerance.

Quiet people just cannot be manipulated easily especially if they are experienced and intelligence.

The reason is because they have values which cannot be denied or pushed over.

#8 - Quiet people can be loud sometimes.

Being quiet doesn't means they are not talking at all, in fact, they can be just as loud

as you when they want to be.

They do have a voice and when they decide to speak, usually it's something that mattered

to the situation.

They even can be the life of the party when they want to be.

Well, those are some of the reasons why you don't mess with the quiet ones, after all,

they are the ones who actually think.

So Really cool information isn't it?

I hope you enjoy this short video, if you have something on your mind, please share

your thoughts and experiences in the comments below!

The Evolution of YA: Young Adult Fiction, Explained (Feat. Lindsay Ellis) | It's Lit! - Duration: 5:44.

There are those who say that kids these days don't

read books.

But that's just not true.

Millennials and whatever we're calling the generation

after millennials are actually more well-read on average

than earlier generations and also read more books per year.

And believe it or not, we have the likes

of the "Hunger Games" and "Harry Potter" and even "Twilight"

to thank for that.

So thanks, YA.

Young adult is a term whose meaning has varied wildly

over the years.

It can apply to coming of age tragedies

or serialized adventures of babysitters

or insert really dated twilight joke here.

But where did this young adult genre come from?

And why did it get so big?

[MUSIC PLAYING]

While narratives for children have

existed since people started telling stories,

a designated literary market for that mysterious, magical period

of time known as teenagerdom is somewhat new.

And to be fair, teenagers weren't

a designated demographic in most respects

until around World War II, due in part to advances

in psychology, sociological changes,

like the abolishment of child labor,

and even technological advances like the car

making it easy to sneak out of your parents' house.

But suddenly, teens are here.

And with them come a plethora of shiny,

new things marketed to them, clothes, music, films,

radio programs, and of course, the novel.

In 1942, Maureen Daly, herself only 17 years old,

publishes the "Seventeenth Summer,"

which some have called the first young adult novel.

"Seventeenth Summer" featured plot points and themes

particularly to teens, under age drinking, driving, dating,

and the, of course, eternally popular angst.

But it wasn't the great literary critics

of the time who defined this new category of fiction.

It was librarians, in particular, librarians

from the New York Public Library.

Starting in 1906, Anne Carroll Moore built a, sort of,

League of Extraordinary Librarians, women

who were interested not only in keeping

this nascent adolescent audience in libraries

but also finding out what made them tick.

Another young librarian brought on by more, Mabel Williams

began working with her peers to find books

in both the children's and adult sections that

might be of interest to teens.

And in 1929, the first annual NYPL books

for young people list was sent to schools and libraries

across the country.

In 1944, another NYPL librarian, Margaret Scoggin,

changed the name of her library journal column

from "Books for Older Boys and Girls"

to "Books for Young Adults."

And the genre was christened with a name

that has lasted to this day.

While the YA genre had already been laying down its roots

for decades at this point, most YA fiction

tended to feature the same generic plot points.

Girl dates boy.

Maybe they have a fight or something.

But then they resolve it.

The end.

But in the 60s, young people started

to see more thoughtful contemplations of what

it is just to be a teenager.

Hugely noteworthy from this era is

S.E. Hinton's, "The Outsiders," published in 1967.

At first, a novel that failed on the adult paperback market,

the publisher noticed it was mostly being purchased by teens

and then re-marketed it to them.

And YA allowed itself to explore deeper subjects,

ushering in novels like "Are You There, God?

It's Me, Margaret" and "The Chocolate War."

During the 80s and 90s however, YA

started skewing towards serialized fiction,

or from the likes of R.L. Stine, school centric fiction

like "Sweet Valley High" and "The Baby-Sitters Club"

and genre fiction like K.A. Applegate's "Animorphs Series."

So while young adult fiction was plenty lucrative,

it wasn't really respected by people outside

of its targeted readership.

It was low art for kids.

KID: Yippee!

NARRATOR: But then everything changed with a boy wizard.

In 1997, publisher Bloomsbury takes a leap of faith

and publishes "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone."

In spite of being genre fiction, "Harry Potter"

manages to resound not only with the YA audience,

but it also leaks into a large adult market.

Harry Potter as a character also grows up

with his readers, starting out 11 years old and ending at 17.

And the tone of the series matures as well.

So this new post "Harry Potter" YA

is nearly as long and sometimes longer, sometimes way longer,

as adult fiction and on the same reading level

as commercial adult fiction.

"Harry Potter" also opens the door

for a wide variety of darker, genre-based YA novels that

can appeal to an audience beyond teens

and possibly get optioned for a multi-million dollar movie

franchises.

With "Twilight," for instance, came a boom

in the YA subgenre of paranormal romance.

And boy, that sure was a thing that came and went.

"The Hunger Games" popularized the subgenre of YA dystopia.

And that, also, was a thing that came and went really quickly.

And now, well, genre fiction is still popular in YA.

But the trend has cycled back to discussing

relevant social issues and the world as it is.

John Green's, "The Fault In Our Stars"

was a massive hit that dealt with kids who fall

in love while dying of cancer.

And one of the most popular YA books of the last year

was Angie Thomas's, "The Hate You Give,"

which was partially inspired by the Black Lives Matter

movement.

And also it was really great.

By the way, you should read it.

So it's a bit reductive to be dismissive of Young Adult.

First of all, it's not just a niche genre.

YA is remarkable for its wide appeal.

55% of YA books purchased in 2012

were bought by adults between 18 and 44 years old.

It's also remarkable to see the emergence of a genre

pioneered by women, authors like Maureen Daly, J.K.

Rowling, and Angie Thomas, and librarians

like Mabel Williams and Margaret Scoggin.

Not only does YA shape younger audiences as readers,

it is a genre that helps give its audience

a lexicon for understanding that there

is a complex world between childhood and adulthood.

So what does your favorite YA book?

Are there any books you love that maybe you didn't realize

were categorized as YA?

Here's Why Mosquitoes Bite You and Not Others - Duration: 2:16.

Everyone knows that mosquitoes are annoying little insects that like biting and making

marks on us.

The most interesting part is that these bugs seem to like biting some people more than

others!

There are actually some factors that make you more attractive to mosquitoes.

If you've ever heard that, it's because your skin is sweeter, that's actually not wrong.

In today's video we're going to talk about all the reasons mosquitoes like some people

more than others:

Exercising Exercising is the answer to many different

health problems, but in this case, it may be the cause of your problem.

When we exercise, we produce lactic acid, an organic compound that mosquitoes are attracted

to.

Not bathing regularly This one may not be news, but it's not for

the reason you think.

Mosquitoes are attracted to sweat because it smells good to them.

Malaria carrying mosquitoes love it even more.

Some sweet perfumes and scents found in bath gels can have the same effect.

Pregnancy Mosquitoes like carbon dioxide, a gas we exhale

constantly, but pregnant women exhale higher levels of it, making them more susceptible

to mosquito bites.

Drinking Alcohol Just like pregnant women, we exhale higher

levels of carbon dioxide when we drink because the alcohol speeds up our metabolism.

Wearing dark clothes Lots of people believe that this one is a

myth, but there is some truth to this saying.

Mosquitoes have very sensitive heat sensors which are triggered by black clothes since

they absorb more heat.

Type-O blood Even blood types affect whether or not mosquitoes

will bite you.

A study performed in a controlled environment showed that mosquitoes are twice as attracted

to people with Type-O blood than people with Type-A blood.

Mosquitoes can tell due to a chemical we secrete.

Here's Why New Car Engines are Burning Oil - Duration: 6:22.

rev up your engines, today I'm going to talk about a problem with modern cars that

have engines that burn oil, and I'm doing this because lately some of my customers

have told me that, they have a car engine and it's burning oil on a car that's new

or year old, two years old, they change the oil all the time, but they go to the

dealer and they say, why is my car burning a quart of oil every thousand

miles or less, to be told by the dealership, well that's normal for that

car, well it may be their definition of normality, but it's not right

and I'm going to show you the history of car engines to explain why it's not

right, now here's a cool model of a four-stroke engine, on the intake stroke

the piston goes down, the intake valves opens, air & fuel mixture goes inside the

cylinder, then on the compression stroke, the valve closes, the mixture is

compressed, and at the top the spark plug just fires, then it pushes down the

compression to give you a power, and then the last stroke, the exhaust stroke, it

pushes up, the exhaust valve opens and the spent fuel goes out the exhaust, it's

called the four-stroke motor, because it has four strokes

it has intake, it has compression, it has power, and it has exhaust, so every time

the engine fires, there's four parts to that firing, now two-stroke engine only

has two strokes, they pollute a lot more it's a total loss oil system, you have to

mix the oil with the gas and it just burns it out to lubricate it

they pollute so much that in most cases they're illegal, they do have some more

modern versions that work better, but for all intents and purposes, the engines

we are driving are four-stroke motors, and being for 4-stroke motors they should not

burn oil at all, if they do there's a problem and here's where the problems

are, the oil control ring on the piston keeps the oil from the crank from

getting by the piston and burning inside, if these oil control rings are bad or if

the inside of the cylinder itself is worn, it will burn oil, and a classic

example this was the old Chevy Vega, the engineers came up with this idea to have

an aluminum block engine, aluminum is a lot softer than iron but it weighs less

but they coated it with Teflon and they thought, well

that'll keep the aluminum from wearing and it won't burn oil, but that's what

that Teflon coating wore off real fast, I had a friend with a Chevy Vega back in

the 70s, he was burning a quart of oil every sixty miles in that stupid

thing, so if the oil control ring is worn or the cylinder is worn, you're going to burn

oil, here's a piston I took out of an old motorcycle engine, it didn't burn any oil

as you can see, the oil control ring, hey they're chrome-plated they're really

well built, if you build them right they won't burn oil, and the other way

they can burn oil is. the intake valves suck the fuel and air in, well they can

also suck in oil if the seals on the valves here are bad, the oil gets stuck

from the top of the engine by the seal and be sucked inside and then burned, now

my grandfather who was also a mechanic he was born in the late 1800s and the

early cars, they didn't even have valve seals in them, they just sucked oil in and

burnt like mad, it was expected that they burnt oil and every winter you'd have to

take the engine apart, you'd have to clean off all the carbon from the burn

oil and rebuild the engine, but modern cars should not be that way, here's my 25

year old Celica, it's got 240 thousand miles, it still

doesn't burn any oil, my wife 17 year old Lexus, it doesn't

burn any oil, and here's your previous car an 11 year old matrix it doesn't

burn oil either, but there are quite a few modern cars that are now burning oil

that shouldn't, as an example, the 2010 to 2017 Chevy Equinox with the 2.4 liter

four-cylinder engine, many of them burn more than a quart every thousand miles

and there's a class-action suit against that one, again the dealership might tell

you, oh that's normal for those cars and maybe normal for that car, but it's wrong

you don't want to buy a car like that, because if you change your oil and filter

regularly like your suppose to and use the oil they ask, in this case it's a

5w30 oil, your engine should not burn oil, as the engine fires, the oil should

remain in the crankcase, it shouldn't get inside the cylinder and burn, that's just

bad engineering or bad manufacturing processes, and with many cars these days

going to GDI gasoline direct injection and turbo

charging, there's higher and higher pressures inside the engine, higher

pressures inside the fuel injection systems, so quality control and

engineering has to be top-notch, or you'll end up with an engine that

burns oil, and let's face it, nobody wants to buy a car and then get in a

class-action suit, what a hassle, so we still live in a free society, you can

vote with your money, nobody's holding a gun to your head and says you got to buy

this particular car, do a little research online, you find out one manufacturer has

problems with engines burning oil, don't buy that manufacturers car, it's that

simple, don't listen to any nonsense that they

might tell you that, oh it's normal for these engines to burn oil, because as

the old joke goes, what's the difference between a lawyer and a liar, just a

couple of letters, and what's the difference between a salesman and a liar

nothing they're exactly the same, and for you, there's nothing worse than putting

out your hard-earned money to buy an expensive new car, only to find that in a

short period of time, the things burning oil and from this perspective, do what I

always do, never ever buy a brand-new engine design that just came out, no one

knows what the history is, like with that old Vega people thought, oh great an

aluminum block will put Teflon in it, only to find that a few thousand miles later

the engines are burning oil like mad because the Teflon all came off, so before

you buy another car, do some serious research and you can always ask me

online, I'll tell you which ones burn oil which ones don't, because we may live in

a complex society, but when it comes to four-stroke gasoline engines, one thing is

simple, they should not burn engine oil, so if you never want to miss another one

of my new car repair videos remember to ring that Bell!

PRESIDENT TRUMP MAKES MAJOR MAXINE WATERS ANNOUNCEMENT – HERE WE GO!

Over the weekend, California Representative Maxine Waters incited violence against members

of Donald Trump's administration when she called on people to publicly attack them.

Now, President Trump is firing back at her in a huge way.

"For these members of his Cabinet who remain and try to defend him, they are not going

to be able to go to a restaurant, they are not going to be able to stop at a gas station,

they are not going to be able to shop in a department store," Waters said, according

to Mediaite.

"The people are going to turn on them, they are gonna protest, they are gonna absolutely

harass them."

As you can imagine, Trump was not about to let this slide.

"Congresswoman Maxine Waters, an extraordinarily low IQ person, has become, together with Nancy

Pelosi, the Face of the Democrat Party.

She has just called for harm to supporters, of which there are many, of the Make America

Great Again movement.

Be careful what you wish

for Max!" Trump tweeted.

Here's how to keep your feet looking great all summer - Duration: 9:57.

Your feet have been hidden away in tights and socks, and now it's time for toe-exposing sandals

But if baring your tootsies fills you with dread, don't worry. Here's our guide to great feet for summer

Treat your feet like your face  "Pamper them with a professional treatment by a chiropodist," says Julian Ball from DLT Podiatry

"They will trim your toenails, remove any hard skin, and check for corns or verrucae to ensure that your feet are in a healthy condition

" Go bigger when it gets to summer  "We need to buy shoes up to half a size bigger (where possible) to allow for our feet to swell in the warmer weather," advises podiatrist Emma Supple

Calla Shoes' founder Jennifer Bailey agrees: "Always try two sizes and go for the larger one if in doubt

"You can always try removable insoles if you need to – just take them out when they start to feel tight

It's important to have around half an inch of allowance at the front and back of the shoe

" Ditch dry skin  "Dry, cracked heels are more commonly caused by a loss of 'elasticity' in the skin when dryness sets in – or when the skin thickens and cracks or breaks under pressure," explains Emma

"They can act as an open door for infection so prevention is important. ."  But always file before bathing or showering, adds podiatrist Dr Bharti Rajput

"When feet are wet and soft you risk causing a friction injury and taking off too much skin

And a foot file ('sandpaper-on-a-stick' type) is much safer than a cheese grater-type device

Moisturise well using a dedicated heel cream such as Flexitol Heel Balm, £5.69 for 56g, Boots

Read More Why sleeping with your hair down is bad news for your skin - and what you should do instead Drop the flip-flops  "These are not designed to be worn all day – just around the pool and at the beach," warns Dr Rajput

"Unfortunately they can cause foot problems from stress fractures, heel pain – Achilles tendinitis – and also cause toes to curl up excessively as you try to grip for stability during walking

" Bunions?   "Avoid patent leather shoes or any heel where the material does not stretch as it will squash the foot, potentially causing you a great deal of pain," warns Jennifer

Pop an anti-blister stick in your bag  "It's designed to immediately ease friction and stop blisters from developing by providing an extra layer to the affected area," explains Dave Wain, Podiatrist at Carnation Footcare

Alternatively, apply a slick of clear gel anti-perspirant to the areas where your shoes rub – this will control moisture and the gel will reduce friction

…And make sure you cut your nails carefully  "Trim your nails after a bath or shower with a good quality nail clipper, says Julian

"Cut straight along the top and leave about 1mm of white tip. Do not cut down the sides as this can cause in-growing nails

Smooth with an emery board." Properly police your pedicure   "Pedicures can be a serious health risk as everything from the tools, nail files and bubbly foot basins can transmit nail fungus, verruca viruses and sometimes serious bacterial infections," explains Dr Rajput

"The standard of hygiene in most beauty salons does not match that of podiatry/chiropody clinics where the instruments have to be medically sterilised

"Most salons simply use a disinfecting solution which can still allow infections to spread

"Ensure that your pedicure salon uses disposable foot and nail files, and does not use razors on your feet

" Nail polish isn't the answer  Don't be tempted to cover discoloured or crumbly nails with nail polish, warns Emma McConnachie, a podiatrist from The College of Podiatry

"Discolouration could be a sign of a toenail infection which should be treated first – or the problem will only get worse

"And if you paint your nails a lot, try to have two weeks without polish every couple of months to allow your toenails to breathe so you can check that they look healthy

" And be careful when removing gel nail polish  "Gel polish damages your nails when not removed properly – this is done by soaking it off using an acetone-based remover," says Dr Rajput

"This is because the surface keratin layer of the nail can be traumatised if the gel polish is peeled off the nail plate

" Use lemon juice   "If nails are discoloured by old nail polish then the acidic properties of lemon juice applied on the nail plate can help dissolve the stain particles," says Dr Rajput

"Soak feet in a solution of lemon juice with soapy water then gently scrub with a nail brush," he advises

Read More Women who use talcum powder 'at risk from deadly cancer' claims disease lawyer Beware of going barefoot  Most of us can't wait to bare our feet as the weather gets better

"However, going barefoot can leave you more prone to injury – and picking up nasties such as viruses (think verrucae) or funguses (think athlete's foot)," warns Dr Rajput

Protect your feet  People often forget to apply sun cream to their feet but they can receive a lot of exposure if you are wearing flip-flops or sandals

If you are sunbathing on your front, don't forget to apply sun cream to the soles of your feet

Getting burnt there can be very painful! Be kind to achy, swollen feet  Bathe them in warm water with a few drops of peppermint oil – then roll the bottom of your foot over a cold water bottle or a Carnation PediRoller (£9

Here's your chance to tell officials what you think about paying more to use the Dulles Toll Road - Duration: 2:53.

A view of Dulles Toll Road at the main toll plaza in Vienna, Va. (Jahi Chikwendiu/The Washington Post) Officials at the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority have announced public hearings on proposed fee increases on the Dulles Toll Road that could boost the amount most users pay by $1

25 starting in 2019. There will be three hearings in July: Since 2014, most motorists have been paying $3

50 to drive the toll road — $2.50 at the main toll plaza and $1 at on/off ramps. Under the proposal, drivers would pay $3

25 at the main toll plaza and $1.50 for one ramp transaction. According to MWAA officials, the rate would remain in place though 2022

The increased revenue would be used to pay for construction of the second phase of the $5

8 billion Silver Line rail extension and improvements along the toll road. One thing to note: MWAA officials said they are required to periodically increase tolls, so the hearing won't be about whether they should raise them

Rather, members of the public will be asked to weigh in on how the increases should be allocated (toll plaza vs

ramps), whether the road should convert to all EZ Pass and, in the future, whether officials should offer a credit card option for paying

There will be no formal testimony at the hearings. Rather, representatives will be on hand to answer questions

Members of the public can submit their comments. Translators will also be on hand to help Spanish-speaking individuals and people with disabilities

The public comment period on the toll increase will be open from July 2 through Aug

3. Comments can also be sent via email at dtrcomments@hntb.com or mailed to: MWAA Public Comment Period, c/o HNTB, 2900 South Quincy St

, Suite 600, Arlington, Va., 22206. People wishing translation services for another language should contact the Airports Authority at 703-253-5899 at least 72 hours in advance of the public hearing they plan to attend

MWAA's board of directors is slated to vote on the increase in October.

World Cup Power Rankings: Germany, Argentina tumble, England on the up, here come the Socceroos - Duration: 3:49.

World Cup Power Rankings: Germany, Argentina tumble, England on the up, here come the Socceroos

Another round of World Cup matches down means another batch of updates to the all important Power Rankings, and as we approach crunch time in the group stages a clearer picture is starting to take shape.

Some big names sit on the brink of an embarrassing exit, while the traditional fairy tale stories are reflected in some once-unfancied sides flying up the table.

And as for the Aussies? There is life in the Socceroos' legs yet, with hopes of progression still alive and reflected in a timely boost in the rankings.

A reshuffle at the top.

Brazil holds its position at the top of the rankings, but only just.

It's awfully difficult to split the top four still, and even though the Brazilians haven't been quite at their best, they've been good enough to cling on to top spot a little while longer.

Spain moves up as its qualification looks more secure — La Furia Roja were pretty excellent against Portugal in truth, and then ground down a stubborn Iranian bus in a way many of their rivals have failed to this tournament — which drops the already-through but slightly underwhelming French down a couple.

Belgium moves into the top three having completely dismantled Tunisia and Panama, while it's Croatia and England asking the most pressing questions outside that top four.

Both have been rewarded with moves up, but will face their real tests in the knockout rounds.

The sliders and the bolters.

Hear that? That's another Mexican earthquake breaking out as El Tri fly up the Power Rankings on the back of two impressive wins and an ensured place in the round of 16.

Making way for the barnstorming Mexicans are the likes of Uruguay — safely through but in seriously underwhelming fashion — and Germany and Argentina, whose qualification is far from secure thanks to a poor start in Russia.

There's also a boost for Switzerland, who backed up an impressive draw against Brazil with a spirited win over Serbia.

Here come the Socceroos.

This is as high as Australia has been since the launch of these rankings, and with good reason.

Australia's performances have warranted more than the one point it has so far, but with a spot in the last 16 still up for grabs and with the team confident and in pretty solid form, the Socceroos have earned a promotion.

Even should the Socceroos fall short of their goal of making it out of the group, you'd have to say they'll have been one of the most impressive fallen sides — but we all want more than that, right?.
