In my past few "No Dumb Questions," I've been covering the kinds of questions you may
be uncomfortable asking your current financial advisor?
Here's one of the trickiest of all: "How do I break up with my advisor?"
Awkward, right?
And since most investors don't hop from one advisor to the next every-other day,
it can be daunting too.
How do you go about it?
And what should you expect during the transition?
While I hope that breaking up with your advisor is your choice of last resort, let's take
a look at what it takes to do so if you do.
Like the Neil Sedaka song goes, breaking up is hard to do.
This is true for personal and professional relationships alike!
Both usually involve at least a little heartbreak and a whole lot of paperwork, especially if
kids or marriages are involved.
That said, if you've thought it over carefully and concluded that your financial advisor
is no longer serving your best financial interests, there's no sense stringing them along.
A clean break and a fresh start may be the best thing for both of you over the long haul.
As with any romance that's run its course, there are varied reasons why you might decide
it's time for a change.
Sometimes there are irreconcilable differences and
the old, "it's not you, it's me" split.
Other times, maybe it IS them.
One way or another, they've done you wrong and it's time to move on.
There also may be times when your advisor is the one to call it quits on you.Ouch!
Regardless of the reason, I can offer a few tips to remember, no matter what.
First, it's best if you and your advisor are able to remove emotions from the mix.
In an actual marriage, you've exchanged loving, "in sickness and in health," "no
matter what" vows.
But remember, your relationship with your financial advisor is ultimately a business
transaction.
So if you've thought it through and reached a decision that's right for you, there's
no need to feel guilty or apologetic about it.
That holds true even if – in fact, especially if – your advisor is also a personal friend
or family member.
Second, if you're the one making the first move, your advisor will probably ask why … and
may follow up by trying to change your mind.
"Why" is a valid question, and it's not necessarily unreasonable for an advisor
to try to talk you out of the move.
But think through in advance how you'd like to respond.
If you're generally fond of your advisor, you may want to offer an explanation.
A reputable advisor will appreciate your feedback and accept it in the spirit it's given.
On the other hand, if you're fed up with the relationship, less is probably more for
continued conversations.
If you want to vent, fine.
But if you'd rather avoid the confrontation and confusion … remember, you do NOT owe
your advisor an explanation.
A polite but firm "none of your beeswax" is fine.
Let your new advisor serve as your liaison.
This leads me to a final point about what to expect when the transition occurs.
I'd love to tell you: No worries!
Your new advisor has a magic wand to wave away every hassle.
In real life, it doesn't always go quite that smoothly given the number of parties
involved.
There's your old and new advisor, as well as the various account custodians where your
assets are held.
And everyone needs to play nice together if at all possible.
So, even when everyone is competent and cooperative, the shift calls for careful planning, accurate
execution and substantial amount of paperwork to safeguard
your financial security and prevent unnecessary costs
and to avoid any other administrative hassles.
If you've happen to have mixed in incompetent or unscrupulous player
or two into the mix – well that might be
why you're breaking up to begin with – and even the best new advisor in the world may
need your time and patience as they help you navigate through the roadblocks and detours
that might be thrown your way.
While I hope you and your current advisor are enjoying a peaceful and prosperous relationship
that will indeed last you for as long as you both shall live, I also hope this helps you
think through what it may take to move on if it's no longer a match made in heaven.

Maritime interdiction rises as new option to up pressure against N. Korea - Duration: 1:53.
The international community is running out of ways to punish North Korea, having cut
off so much of its trade.
One option is to cut off its oil supplies, but another possibility is intercepting ships
suspected of carrying goods to or from the regime.
Oh Jung-hee reports.
While the international community is looking for ways to up the pressure against North
Korea after its latest ICBM launch,... maritime interdiction is rising as a possible option.
That's... increasing inspections on vessels suspected of transporting North Korean goods...
to block North Korea's trade routes.
On Wednesday, U.S. State Department spokesperson Heather Nauert told reporters... that she
expects a maritime transport ban on a whole new level to come out... though the details
are still being ironed out.
An unnamed high-level official from the South Korean government has also said...
there are not many areas left for additional sanctions on North Korea... except maritime
interdiction and cutting oil supplies.
(Korean) "This measure is not limited to inspecting
vessels at ports, but inspecting all of North Korean goods and any vessels suspected to
be carrying them...
anywhere in international waters.
So if this is reflected in the UN Security Council resolution, then this resolution will
be very powerful because it will be blocking all of North Korea's maritime routes."
But it is not clear if the U.S. will take that as a unilateral sanction against Pyongyang
or have it reflected in the UN Security Council resolution.
The measure was included in the draft resolution when Pyongyang carried out its sixth nuclear
test in September,... but was ultimately dropped due to opposition from China and Russia.
Experts see that China and Russia may stay against maritime inspection this time too,...
which means the U.S. might have to coordinate only with countries sharing its stance.

How to Set Up and Use the Elite Pro Tournament Headset - Duration: 6:03.

- Hey everyone, I'm Jason from Turtle Beach.
And in this video, I'm gonna show you how to set up
and use the Elite Pro Tournament Gaming Headset
with Xbox One and PS4.
Additionally, I'll show you some of the other
Elite Pro accessories you can add
to your Elite Pro ecosystem.
First, let's connect the Elite Pro's Pro Gaming Microphone
by pushing it into the spot on the left ear cup
of the headset.
Be sure to press the mic firmly into place
to ensure a good connection.
You'll hear a solid snap,
indicating that the mic is properly seated,
and at that point, you should be able to easily adjust
and rotate the mic into the correct position,
just to the side of your mouth,
a couple of inches away, for best performance.
Connecting included Breakaway Audio Cable
to the short cable hanging from the Elite Pro Headset's
left ear cup.
Be sure to line up the orange stripes on the audio cable
with the corresponding slots on the connector.
When done correctly, you'll be able to clearly see
the orange stripes.
Convenient, inline controls are also located
on the Breakaway Audio Cable,
providing quick access to mic mute and master volume.
One of the best features of the Elite Pro Headset
is extreme comfort.
The Comfortect Fit System provides two methods
of adjusting the Elite Pro Fit,
which allows for independent adjustment
of both tension and size.
With the headset in your hands,
adjust the sliders on top of the headband toward
the center for a looser fit,
and toward the ear cups for a tighter fit.
This is a fine-tuned adjustment,
which will be felt more over longer gaming sessions.
The Comfortech Fit System also has three different
size adjustments that can be changed by pulling up
or down on the ear cups.
The size setting can be checked by using
the small indicator hole on the side
of the headset's ear cup.
Size one is the smallest size,
size two is the medium size,
and size three is the largest setting.
Turtle Beach's patented Prospecs Glasses Relief System
creates a special channel
in the Elite Pro Headset's ear cushions
for your glasses to pass through,
to reduce pressure on the frame.
To remove the ear cushions, hold the ear cushion firmly
with one hand and the rubberized orange ring
on your headset with the other hand.
Rotate the ear cushion counter-clockwise to remove it.
It might be tight the first time,
but you'll get the hang of it.
Look for the little, plastic pull tab with holes in it
and a small, plastic hole.
Pull the tab to the last hole
and reattach to the post to create a deeper
or shallower channel in the ear cushion,
depending on the size of your glasses frame.
By default, the adjustment is set to the shallowest setting.
Once you get the ear cushion seated correctly
in the ear cup, rotate the ear cushion clockwise,
until you hear and feel an audible click,
indicating the ear cushion has locked back into place.
Now you can make whatever final adjustments are needed
for your perfect fit, and we can connect to our console.
There are two ways to connect your Elite Pro Headset
to your Xbox One.
Directly through the controller,
if you have an Xbox One controller
with a 3.5 millimeter jack,
or via the Elite Pro Tactical Audio Adapter,
if you have an older Xbox One controller
that doesn't have the 3.5 millimeter jack.
Let's get your Elite Pro Headset connected
to your Xbox One controller.
This is for the latest Xbox One controllers
with the 3.5 millimeter headset jack.
Connect the Elite Pro's 3.5 millimeter plug,
directly to the Xbox One controller.
Adjust the inline volume control
and check to make sure the mic is not muted.
Now, go to the Xbox One home screen,
navigate all the way to the left,
and then down to the Settings' gear icon.
First, make sure headset volume is at the maximum setting.
Next, set headset chat mixer to your preferred
game chat balance level.
Finally, set mic monitoring to your preferred level.
Mic monitoring allows you to hear your own voice
in the headset, which helps you avoid shouting
at other players.
The second way to connect your Elite Pro Headset
to your Xbox One is by using
the Elite Pro Tactical Audio Adapter.
This is for older Xbox controllers
that don't have the 3.5 millimeter jack.
The Tactical Audio Adapter is sold separately
and beyond letting you connect your Elite Pro Headset
to your older Xbox One controller,
it also offers a few additional features,
including independent game chat audio controls,
Superhuman Hearing, and Dynamic Chat Boost.
When using the Tactical Audio Adapter,
be sure to use the included audio cable that comes with it.
The one without the inline controls, to be clear.
Connect the new Breakaway Audio Cable
into the short cable hanging from the left ear cup
of the Elite Pro headset.
Connect the other end of the Elite Pro Breakaway Audio Cable
into the 3.5 millimeter jack on the front
of the Tactical Audio Adapter.
Turtle Beach always recommends using
an official Xbox One wireless controller
for best performance.
Wired, official Xbox One controllers
and third-party wired controllers connected via USB,
can result in a subpar audio experience,
including static and audio artifacts.
For use with the PS4, first connect your Elite Pro
directly into the PS4 controller's
3.5 millimeter headset jack.
Adjust the inline volume control
and check to make sure the mic is not muted.
Before using the headset,
make sure your headset settings are correct.
Starting from the PS4 home menu, navigate to Settings,
Devices, Audio Devices.
First, set Input and Output Device
to Connected to Controller.
Then, set the Volume Control level
on your headphones to maximum.
Next, set Output to Headphones to All Audio.
Finally, select Adjust Microphone Level
and follow the onscreen instructions
to calibrate your microphone.

for connecting your Elite Pro to your PS4,
and is sold separately.

MSNBC's 'Morning Joe' Freaks Out After Trump Brings Up 'Dead Woman' He Tried To 'Bury' - Duration: 4:04.
MSNBC's Joe Scarborough was once a U.S. Congressman, but he suddenly resigned for
no reason.
Most people don't realize there was a 28-year-old dead woman who was highly rumored to be the
cause of his resignation.
President Donald Trump has never forgotten, and he is calling for an investigation.
Now, "Morning Joe" is freaking out as what he tried to bury long ago about his role
in this possible murder is coming out.
Earlier today, President Trump called for an investigation into the death of Lori Klausutis,
a 28-year-old staffer for then-Congressman Joe Scarborough.
Many Morning Joe viewers probably have forgotten, or never knew, that the body of a female aide
was once found in Scarborough's Congressional office.
Investigators quickly saw that a blow to the head, delivered accidentally or intentionally,
was involved in Lori Klausutis' death.
There are also some serious questions as to the mental competency of the doctor who performed
the autopsy, as well as an important question about why there was no time of death recorded
on his autopsy.
Trump was once "friends" with Scarborough, and he was in the same social circles as the
"Morning Joe" host.
So, when the president tweeted about his one-time friend, the mainstream media went nuts.
"So now that Matt Lauer is gone when will the Fake News practitioners at NBC be terminating
the contract of Phil Griffin?
And will they terminate low ratings Joe Scarborough based on the 'unsolved mystery' that took
place in Florida years ago?
Investigate!"
Scarborough has denied any involvement in the intern's death.
The Morning Joe host responded to President Trump's tweet Wednesday morning.
"Looks like I picked a good day to stop responding to Trump's bizarre tweets.
He is not well," Scarborough tweeted.
"Accidental death was the official finding in the Klausutis case, with a cardiac arrhythmia
causing her to fall and hit her head on a desk.
But the recent discovery of human remains at a storage unit in Pensacola, Florida, casts
doubt on that ruling.
That's because the storage unit was rented by Dr. Michael Berkland, the man who conducted
the Klausutis autopsy 11 years earlier," reports 100% Fed-Up.
The story is confirmed in the Daily Mail, which says Berkand is facing felony charges,
and it questions his sanity at the time, which makes the autopsy of Scarborough's intern
suspect.
"What would cause a seemingly healthy young woman, an avid runner, to collapse and lose
consciousness, unable to break her fall?
Berkland rules out some of the common causes of such an event – a pulmonary embolus,
a brain hemorrhage, a ruptured aneurysm, drug issues," 100% Fed-Up adds.
Berkland concludes cardiac arrhythmia.
Now, this is a pretty ambiguous result for a woman her age, being in great physical shape.
We aren't alluding Scarborough in foul play, but it's strange that he ended his promising
career as a U.S. Congressman five months into his 4th term, suddenly resigning just weeks
after this woman was found dead in his office.
His reason?
The classic "in order to spend more time with his children" excuse.
At the time, the big story was a missing woman named Chandra Levy, Democrat U.S. Congressman
Gary Condit's missing ex-intern, who disappeared while jogging.
She was Condit's lover.
So, viewers heard next to nothing about Joe's intern, a healthy 28-year-old woman who was
found dead in his Congressional District Office in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.
Why would Trump bring it up?
It could be he has no insider knowledge at all and is just trolling Scarborough, who
has been on a year-long tirade lying about the president with his sidekick and fiance
Mika Brezinski.
Whatever is the truth, the case is certainly interesting and one most Americans have never
heard of, and if there is something that needs to be re-investigated, it should be this.
No one is above the law.
