chances are you won't ever get abducted and bound by a zip-tie if you did would

you know how to escape luckily it's not as hard as you think

there are actually three genius ways to do so and each one is essential to learn

there are three proven ways for escaping from zip tie restraints they know that

the threat of kidnapping although rare is still very real and these methods

could save your life for the first method they bought the strongest ties

they could from their local hardware store during a kidnapping scenario your

captors will likely use the strongest materials available the first thing they

point out is the small locking bar within the zip tie that secures the

plastic tightening ridges this is the key to removing the time all it takes is

slight pressure and the zip tie will slide right off the locking mechanism

can actually be released with only a fingernail of course this only works if

you have long fingernails or if your hands are bound in such a way that you

can actually bend your finger back into the safety release opening there's more

if you have a small thin piece of metal on you that will work even better the

trick as with your fingernail is to finagle the metal into the small opening

in the lock releasing the bind there's a second way to remove zip ties this

method takes a lot more dexterity so you'll want to try it out at home

several times to perfect it the imminent threat solutions demonstrator starts in

a standing position so viewers can get a close look at how his hands are bound

then he sat down on the ground with his feet out in front of him the key to this

escape technique is to have both your legs in front of you if you're not in

this position try to wiggle your way into it your life depends on what you do

next then you'll remove a shoelace from one

of your sneakers assuming you're still wearing them this lace is going to be

the key to your escape so try your best not to allow you captors to take your

shoes now tie a loop in one end using a slip knot make sure the slip knot is

secure and won't come undone under stress it will drastically improve your

chances of survival now that you have the loop and slip knot tied on one end

do the exact same thing to the other end of the lace once you have both loops

securely fastened place one around each of your feet but not before you try this

one important step before looping each end of the cord around your right and

left foot make sure the lace weaves through the zip tie so you're left with

a triangular shaped like ana photo below now you're ready to begin your escape

using the friction from the lace the third method of escaping zip ties

completely depends on the positioning of your hands when you're bound if given

the opportunity trying to have your captors bind your hands in this position

where your fists are side-by-side it may not appear like it to your captors but

this positioning allows you enough wiggle room to slip free once the zip

ties are on if you rotate either your right or left wrist 90 degrees one hand

should slip free what if your hands are bound like this with one wrist on top of

the other this is when things get a bit more complicated to escape this one you

will actually need to learn how to flex your wrists in such a way that one of

your hands is able to slip free as soon as your hands are bound work

your wrists back and forth until one of the palms of your hands is able to lie

flat on top of the other balled up fist it might take several minutes of

maneuvering for this to happen now pull your wrist as hard as you can through

the zip tie working it slightly left and right while you do so keep in mind that

this might hurt the blood may start to leave your fingertips but power through

the pain it's more important to escape than to give up here are the three

methods in action

Here's How to Work with Huge Numbers in Swift - Duration: 3:01.

Hi Károly Nyisztor here. In this tutorial, I'm going to show you a nice trick that

lets us work with really big numbers in Swift.

Let's start by implementing a function that calculates the factorial of a positive

integer n. The function takes a 64-bit unsigned integer as argument and it also

returns this type. This problem can be solved using recursion since the

factorial is defined as the product of the integers from 1 to n. The factorial

of 1 and 0 is 1 so we return 1 for input smaller than 2. Otherwise, the function

returns the product of the input and the result of calling the function with an

argument that is smaller by 1. Alright, let's try out our function. And indeed,

factorial of 3 is 6. Now, let's try it with a bigger number,

let's say with ten. All right, now let's try it with 20. And how about 30?

Oops, we've got an error! This is because the result would be bigger than the

maximum value that can be represented using an unsigned 64-bit integer. I print

out unsigned int 64 max to the console so this is the biggest number that we can

represent using a 64-bit unsigned integer. And the factorial of 21 is

already bigger than that. Now, there is no support for big integers in Swift. Yet,

there is a BigInt prototype in the official Swift repository. You can find

it in the master Swift repo under test/ prototypes. I select "Raw" then save the

page as a Swift source file. Next, I'm going to add it to our playground

project. We don't need this import and I also get rid of the tests except this

type alias.

Now, I can use the BigInt type. So, let's refactor our factorial function. I'm

going to use BigInt for the input argument also BigInt for the return type.

Now, let's try out our new function. It already works with 30 so we can even

increase the value further. And the result will be a huge number as you will

see in a moment. Hopefully, we'll see the BigInt type soon in the official Swift

library. Until then you can use it but it's at your own risk.

So, that's it for today. Thanks for watching!

Hot air for a cool breeze?

Cold comfort for change?

And did you exchange

A walk on part in the war

For a lead role in a cage?

Running over the same old ground

What have we found?

Vayechi Parshah Preview: The End is Here! - Duration: 2:53.

And so here it is. We've come to the end.

The end of the book of Bereishit and

the end of the year. And I think there's a lesson from one for the other.

We speak of the five books of the Torah, Bereishit, Genesis, being the first and that is

followed by Shemot. Why now did our sages feel the book

comes to an end before we can open another book. Look at the story from

beginning to end. From beginning to end the book of Bereishit

unfortunately, tragically, is the story of brothers in conflict: Cain and Abel and

then came Yishmael and Yitzchak, and then came Yitchak and Eisav,

and then came Yosef and his brothers. One conflict after another. The Jewish people could

not have become a nation while brothers are in conflict and so we come to the

end the book of Bereishit because the ending marks the beginning of a new

chapter. The brothers are reunited. Only then were

the Jewish people prepared to become a people, to become a nation.

We've come to

the end of this year, of 2017. It's been a year of the American people being in

conflict, disagreeing on most anything and everything.

Indeed the Jewish people in conflict, we couldn't even agree whether it was

good that President Trump had announced Jerusalem as the capital of the State of

Israel. It's time for all of us to understand

we can't be a great nation, we can't be a great people, when you're constantly in

conflict. We have to learn what Joseph and his brothers learned: we can disagree

without being disagreeable; we can walk shoulder-to-shoulder without seeing

eye-to-eye on every subject. Have a good Shabbos and let it be a Happy New Year

for the American people and the Jewish people as well.

Under the GOP bill, here's who's going to get a big 'pass-through' tax break - Duration: 6:23.

HARI SREENIVASAN: Now additional details of the new tax laws.

The rewrite of the tax code, signed by the president last week, takes effect on Monday.

One of its central features and biggest changes involves a tax rate known as the pass-through

rate.

Many experts are watching to see how businesses, employers and individuals adjust, and what

kind of loopholes it may offer.

Correspondent Lisa Desjardins reports on what that pass-through rate is and who might be

affected.

LISA DESJARDINS: In the tax code, not all business is created equal.

Corporations, defined by the fact that they pay direct corporate taxes, saw the biggest

tax cut in the Republican law.

That led Republicans to create another tax break for smaller companies.

DONALD TRUMP, President of the United States: Historic small business tax cuts and pass-throughs

now are made really, really good for the business owner.

The small business tax cut and the pass-throughs are now really incentivizing people.

LISA DESJARDINS: So, what is a pass-through?

First, it's not necessarily small.

Put that out of your mind.

Instead, pass-throughs are any of several business, partnerships, limited liability

or sole proprietorships, where the business is not taxed on its own, no corporate tax.

Instead, profits pass-through to individual owners, and they are taxed for those profits

as their own individual income.

These can be smaller businesses, like local hardware stores and doggy care, or pass-throughs

can be much larger high-dollar businesses, like Sunoco LP.

That's why the GOP tax bill is so dramatic: It gives millions of pass-through owners a

new 20 percent deduction.

Now, there are some limits, as Congress tried to guard against a surge in pass-throughs.

One, for some professions, like doctors and attorneys, the deduction phases out after

$157,500 in income for individuals or $315,000 for a married couple.

And, two, for larger businesses, the deduction cannot be more than a certain percentage of

all the wages they pay.

Also blocked, tax experts and accountants, who lose a deduction, but seem certain to

gain a lot more business this complex part of the law alone.

For more on the pass-through rate and changes in the tax law, Adam Looney watches this closely

for the Tax Policy Center, run by the Brookings Institution and Urban Institute.

Thank you so much for joining us.

And I want to ask you right off the bat, Adam, how big of a change is this really in tax

law?

ADAM LOONEY, Tax Policy Center: It's huge.

So we have never had a system where business income was taxed at a lower rate than wage

income.

And we have never had a system where the self-employed paid lower taxes than ordinary employees.

So, for those taxpayers, it is a really big deal.

LISA DESJARDINS: So businesses have really never been cut up like this.

It's either been a corporate rate or an individual rate.

ADAM LOONEY: That's right.

And, moreover, it's always been a better deal to be a wage earner than to be a corporation,

at least for the last 40-plus years.

LISA DESJARDINS: As we reported, Congress is trying to put some guardrails in here,

worried that perhaps everyone, including you and me, might rush to try and establish their

own pass-through business.

But how clear are those?

Do we know that those are really going to be effective limits at this point?

ADAM LOONEY: Well, there's two issues.

So, one is, in order to get the pass-through deduction, you have to be pass-through or

you have to be self-employed.

And so there are some hurdles to jump over to get to be self-employed.

A lot of those are practical issues, not so much legal ones.

In fact, the difference between being self-employed and an employee is a legal gray area that

the IRS really doesn't have authority to issue regulations about.

So that will continue to be a gray area.

The second issue is that, once you are -- if you are a self-employed person or a small

business owner, then your income has to qualify in order to receive the deduction.

If you make less than $315,000 and you're married, then you get the deduction.

Above that level, it depends on whether you're a doctor or a lawyer or in a different trade.

LISA DESJARDINS: Or I think professional sports stars.

There's all kinds of high-income exceptions in here.

ADAM LOONEY: That's right.

That's right.

LISA DESJARDINS: Right.

Again, we see a lot of specific carve-outs in this law.

Can you give us an example, though, of someone who would benefit, you think, from this kind

of deduction next year?

ADAM LOONEY: Sure.

Well, a lot of people who are small business owners, pass-through business owners, or self-employed

will benefit.

So, for instance, if you're a plumber that makes $60,000 a year and you're self-employed,

you get a pretty big break.

So, for instance, if you had instead been paid wages of $60,000, the wage earner is

going to pay something like 45 percent more in income taxes, several thousand dollars

a year on the same income for doing the same job.

So, in that case, the pass-through deduction really benefits that person a lot.

LISA DESJARDINS: So, for a plumber just who makes $60,000 a year, for them, this pass-through

is going to mean how many thousand of dollars, do you think?

ADAM LOONEY: It's a couple thousand of dollars a year every year that it's in effect.

So, it's a big bonus for the self-employed person.

LISA DESJARDINS: On the other hand, are there concerns about what this will do for revenue

for the federal government, especially if we see many more people deciding to be self-employed?

ADAM LOONEY: Sure.

So, if people simply switch their classification, if they're doing the same job, but changing

from being a wage earner, an employee, to being a pass-through business owner, then

revenues are going to fall without contributing much to economic growth, because that person

is going to be doing the same job.

And so we actually had an experiment much like this in Kansas, where Kansas reduced

its tax rate on pass-through businesses.

Tax revenues fell below projections.

There was little economic growth.

They had a budget crisis, and ultimately reversed those changes.

LISA DESJARDINS: It's always risky when you make these big changes in the tax code.

ADAM LOONEY: That's right.

LISA DESJARDINS: And, briefly, the IRS, do we know if they're ready to sort of put out

the rules for something like this?

ADAM LOONEY: Well, this bill was passed very quickly.

It goes in effect in basically a week.

And so I think that they are going to be scrambling for quite some time to get the rules and regulations

in place and to issue guidance to taxpayers, so that they can get ready and take advantage

of these new provisions.

LISA DESJARDINS: Adam Looney, thank you so much for trying to clear up a very complicated

area of this tax bill.

ADAM LOONEY: Sure.

Thank you.

LISA DESJARDINS: Appreciate it.

No Work / Life balance? Here's a different view to consider - Duration: 8:14.

So tired today.

You know apples...

if you eat an apple in the morning,

it is supposed to be the equivalent of drinking a coffee.

Yeah, I actually wonder

if I had three apples,

would that be the equivalent to drinking a red bull.

Hi... I'm Andrew Walsh and this is Toolbox TV.

The only place to be to supercharge

your soft skills and create…

a career that you love….

Now, it's hard to work in any industry

without hearing the words

work/life balance.

It's been a term that I heard since starting my career

and is so over used,

I think it has to be the number 1 career development cliché!

The concept has got so much media popularity

it seems to have been blindly accepted as truth.

But here's the thing,

in many situations, its seriously flawed!

Let me explain why,

by telling you about the first time I heard about work/life balance.

I'd started my career working for a global accounting firm

and was in one of their regular training sessions.

And this particular session…

you guessed it…

was on work/life balance.

The presenter went through the concept

and the importance of achieving this balance

for happiness and well-being.

I can tell you that I went out of that session

with less happiness and well-being

than when I went in!

All I could think about was how am I supposed to do that?!

I was working at least 60 hours a week

and often more...

trying to study,

travelling a lot because I lived far from work

and there was no time left to find any kind of balance.

But the truth was I was fine.

I was doing what I was supposed to do for that time in my life.

Placing my energy and time into work and studying hard.

However, being young,

I thought everything I was told was 100% right

and I must be missing something.

I couldn't have been happy because I didn't have this balance.

Feeling the pressure to achieve balance is common for most building a career.

You maybe even going through that right now!

Well, I am here to tell you

if you feel like that, it's not your fault.

You see, the concept of work/life balance assumes that everyone is the same.

Meaning, we all find happiness and well-being

through spending relatively equal amounts of time in each area of life.

But think of anyone you know

that has achieved something significant in their career.

Did they have this balance across their life while pursuing their goal?

The truth is,

most worthwhile goals require,

at a minimum,

a significant block of time for focusing on achieving that goal.

The consequence is less time spent on other areas of life.

But this does not mean a decrease in happiness and well-being.

If you love what you do and find it fulfilling,

then you want to maximise the time spent doing it.

When you hit this sweet spot you have found the right mix

rather than balance in your life.

I can tell you from personal experience

that my life is not balanced now…

Every day I have to make choices around

what I will do with my time and energy…

what I will spend it on and who I will spend it with…

and I can't do everything…

I mean that's just life.

However, I do look to spend as much time

doing fulfilling work as possible.

And that really makes me happy.

So don't try to do it all.

Attempting to do so would be like

trying to balance 20 people on a giant see saw!

Disastrous!

Instead, shoot for spending as much time

in your own sweet spot!

And doing the fulfilling work you were born to do.

Think of it this way:

Your fulfillment is not dependent on spending equal time in each area of your life

but how much time you can spend doing fulfilling things.

And now the second point,

and something to keep in mind ….

your priorities and focus will change over time as you change.

So right now,

if you feel that you want to spend more time working

because you have career goals you want to achieve,

then that's ok.

Or perhaps it's the opposite.

You're working, but your career is in a hold pattern

because you want to spend more time with family.

And that's ok too.

These choices will change as you do.

Now, whatever you choose,

please don't get me wrong and think I'm saying

you should completely neglect things like your health in favour of some goal.

Your health is important;

without it, you won't be achieving much of anything.

However, you may make a conscious choice

to do the minimum healthy things you need

in order for you to place

the majority of your focus on something else.

And this may be the same for other areas of your life too.

The point is, there's no reason to feel bad.

Now, I know a lot of you out there will be saying

But Andrew, my career and life sucks.

I'm stuck and there's no damn fulfillment to be seen!

I think most of us can relate to this feeling

at one time or another in life…

I know I can.

Remember, most of us aren't lucky enough to start from a place

where we have the opportunity to spend all day doing fulfilling work.

Your current position may not allow you to hit your sweet spot.

And it may not be clear

how to organise your career and life to get there.

This is where playing the long game kicks in!

And the word that comes to mind is "Relentless".

You need to have relentless faith

that if you keep focusing

on where you want to be and what fulfils you,

your mind will then seek it out.

When this happens,

you give yourself permission to act intentionally

and make plans to not only create a career that you love

but a life you love too!

So seek out your own sweet spot and be relentless.

So, I'd love to hear from you!

What things in your life compete for your time and attention?

And how do you decide

how much time to spend building your career?

As always, the richest discussions happen after the episode

over at toolboxforthemind.com.

So head on over and leave a comment now.

And of course, if you like what you see,

please subscribe by clicking here and share it with your friends.

Remember, life rewards action.

So just take one step today

and you'll be on your way to creating a career that you love.

Thanks so much for watching…

I'm Andrew Walsh

and I'll catch you next time

on Toolbox TV.

Here's What Dylan Sprouse Thinks About Being Named a "Former Child Star" - Duration: 2:18.

Here's What Dylan Sprouse Thinks About Being Named a "Former Child Star"

Dylan Sprouse is sharing his thoughts on the term former child star. The 25-year-old grew up in the acting world, appearing on TV and in movies alongside his twin brother, Cole Sprouse.

From 2005 to 2008 the twins appeared on the Disney Channel series The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, followed by The Suite Life on Deck from 2008 to 2011.

The two then decided to take a step back from the spotlight to focus on other passions at New York University.

In 2013, Dylan was spotted working at a New York City restaurant and took to Tumblr to address rumors about why he took the job.

To clear up the air (which is admittedly pretty rude), I did not take this job because I lost all my money, I am financially secure, he wrote.

He also added he took the job to primarily feed my over bountiful video game addiction and to just try a new experience. During this time, Dylan found himself being defined as a former child star, which seemingly didnt sit well with him.

In a new interview with Vulture, Dylan discuses the term, calling it derogatory. He shares, That term is so derogatory. Isnt it always derogatory? Even young actor sounds better.

Youre already in a box. But they put you in a smaller box inside that box.

It also implies past tense. It implies youve already failed, right? I was actually naïve enough to think that people wouldnt think of it in that way..

Dylan also explains the reason why he and Cole walked away from their Disney show at 18. I mean, we had a really awesome idea for where the show needed to go.

We were 18, Dylan says. If that isnt old enough to know exactly what the show needs, then…well, I would beg to disagree. He then adds, I dont think [Disney] were willing to work with us, really ever.

So we stopped the show. Today, Dylan and Cole have returned to acting. Dylan, who is also about to open a brewery, is currently filming Banana Split while Cole appears in Riverdale on the CW.

So does Dylan watch Coles show? He tells Vulture hes only seen the first episode. Back in September, Dylan had a Suite Life reunion with his co-star Brenda Song. The duo posed for a pic, which Dylan shared with the caption, Look who I ran into!.

Here comes the sun! Sir Paul McCartney escapes British weather for St Barts break

The Beatles legend looked delighted to touch down in idyllic St Barts for a well-earned dose of winter sun.

Sir Paul, 75, looked dapper in a straw boater hat and crisp white shirt as he helped his wife Nancy Shevell off the plane.  They were joined by his family, including two young grandsons, on the sun-drenched island for the Christmas break.

Nancy, 58, dressed for the balmy climate in a white t-shirt and sunglasses.   The couple often holiday on the island, which was devastated by Hurricane Irma in September.

Other celebrities including the Kardashians and Bella Hadid have been known to spend time on the secluded hot-spot.

Sir Pauls holiday came weeks after the Beatles star came to the aid of the families of two Scottish island teenagers caught up in the Manchester bomb attack.

The ex-Beatle was moved by the plight of schoolgirls Laura MacIntyre and Eilidh MacLeod from Barra in the Outer Hebrides who were both attending their first big pop concert. Sir Paul donated a special Sgt.

Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band 6 Disc Super Deluxe (50th Anniversary Edition) boxset of what many consider the greatest ever album - which he signed for the winner of an auction to raise funds for the two families.

It also doesn't help that the third and fourth film take place before the original two, yet feature some of the same characters through all of the movies.

Keep in mind we are not going into extreme detail for each film and will pass by some of the moments that don't have a larger impact on the story.

Here's a complete recap of the last three Insidious films and where The Last Key fits into the overall timeline.

There is also a TL;DR section at the bottom for those who don't want a more in-depth look at the story.

Insidious.

Insidious follows the story of the Lambert family who are haunted by a collection of malevolent entities and a powerful demon.

The family consists of school teacher Josh, musician Renai, their oldest son Dalton, his younger brother Foster, and baby Cali.

Our story opens with the Lambert family moving into a new home and Renai explaining to Dalton that Josh doesn't like having his photo taken because he's shy.

Later, Dalton investigates some eerie sounds coming from the attic.

However, the ladder going up breaks and causes Dalton to fall to the floor.  Dalton's family rushes to his aid, but everything appears to be fine with the boy.

The next day Josh goes to wake up his son, only to discover that he is alive but in a comatose state. Insidious' story then jumps three months into the future and the Lambert family has set up a medical room to monitor Dalton.

Eventually, Renai experiences supernatural events such as a being screamed at through a baby monitor, a bloody handprint on Dalton's sheet, and a black-haired spirit stalking her.  All of this eventually becomes too much for Renai and she demands that the family moves to a new house.

Josh agrees and the movie jumps an undisclosed amount of time where we see the Lamberts unpacking in their new home.

The viewers are also introduced to Josh's mother Lorraine, who is seen helping the family get settled.

However, the hauntings continue once again with Renai spotting an unknown young boy dancing and running around her home.

Lorraine then sits down with the family and tells the Lamberts that she had a  dream about a red-faced demon that explained it wants Dalton.  Realizing that this isn't going to stop, Lorraine suggests bringing in an expert, Elise Reiner, that she trusts to handle this issue.

This woman arrives after her assistants – Specs and Tucker – survey the house to determine if the Lamberts have been telling the truth.

Elise heads into Dalton's room where she describes the red-faced demon to Specs who is drawing her vision.

She then explains to the family that Dalton is capable of astral projection, which means he can leave his body and explore another realm of existence called "The Further." While Dalton has visited this place many times before, he was led astray by the demon and became lost.

Now, with his body unoccupied both the demon and malevolent spirits seek to take control of his physical shell.

A seance is conducted that ends with the spirits attacking and the demon briefly caught on tape by Tucker.

The family and Elise go back downstairs and reveal that Josh can actually astral-project like Dalton.  It turns out that Josh was haunted by a vicious spirit that took the form of an old woman in a black bridal gown when he was a child.

The ghost would appear closer in photographs taken of Josh, which explains why he is uncomfortable being in pictures as an adult.

Elise was able to temporarily banish the spirit and wiped Josh's memory so he couldn't astral project.

Because this ability is still within Josh, he decides to meditate and venture out into The Further in search of Dalton.

After some time Josh finds his son locked in a room with the demon and frees him from his shackles.

The demon chases Josh and Dalton back to The Further version of their home, guided by the voice of Renai pleading for the duo to come back.

Right before they escape, Josh is confronted by the spirit of the old woman and tells her that he's no longer afraid of her.

She laughs and vanishes just both Josh and Dalton wake up from their sleep.

The family is reunited and Dalton is finally safe from the red-faced demon.

However, Elise feels that something is wrong with Josh and takes his photo which sends him into a rage.

Josh chokes and kills Elise while everyone is distracted, leaving no evidence that he was the one to murder her.

Renai discovers the body and photo where it's revealed to the audience that the old woman was captured in the photo where Josh was standing.

This means that Josh didn't vanquish his own spirit and she took possession of his body.

The movie ends with "Josh" standing behind Renai and her gasping.

Insidious: Chapter II.

Insidious: Chapter II takes place all across the timeline for the Insidious series so it can be a bit tricky to follow right away.

The film opens in 1986 when a young Elise arrives at the Lambert home to help a young Josh deal with the spirit of an old woman that is haunting him.

She is successful, but we do see Josh talking to what appears to be no-one on camera.

Jumping forward in time, Renai explains to the police how Elise died.

No one believes that it was the work of a ghost and leave the case open since there is no evidence that pins Josh as the perpetrator.

While Renai heavily suspects that Josh is possessed by the spirit of the old woman, she has no proof outside of the photo found at the end of the first Insidious.

The next day Renai is attacked by the spirit of a woman in a white dress, who knocks her unconscious on the floor.

Meanwhile, Lorraine visits Specs and Tucker to discuss what happened to Elise which leads to them watching a tape of younger Josh's seance.

It's then revealed that when the contrast of the footage is raised, younger Josh was actually speaking to our present-day version of Josh.

Another paranormal expert, Carl, is called in and they attempt to contact the spirit of Elise.

They succeed and she tells them to go to the "Our Lady of Angels" hospital which is where Lorraine used to work.

Naturally, the group goes to the hospital and encounter a plethora of different supernatural occurrences.

Before they leave, the trio finds out that the old woman was actually a mentally deranged man called Parker Crane.

He would take the form of a bride in a black wedding outfit and murdered 15 different people when he was alive.

They also discover that the spirit they were communicating with was not actually Elise, but Parker's mother.

Renai eventually awakens and speaks with Lorraine who explains the theory that Parker Crane has taken possession of Josh's body.

Tucker, Specs, and Carl attempt to drug Josh but the plan fails and Josh renders everyone unconscious.

Here's where things get a bit more complicated.

We cut to The Further and learn that the real Josh has been trapped there ever since the end of the first Insidious.

Carl – who assumes he is dead – meets up with Josh and the two go looking for Elise.
