The inside story of Michelle Beadle's exit from ESPN's 'Get Up!' - Daily News - Duration: 5:15.
Michelle Beadle never really wanted to do "Get Up!" — ESPN's morning talk show that so far has been an epic failure
Former ESPN President John Skipper kept offering Beadle the job to team with Mike Greenberg, and Beadle kept saying no, according to sources
But Skipper continued to up the ante until, at $5 million a year, Beadle couldn't say no anymore
Now, five months into the show, Beadle is done at "Get Up!" The network Friday evening announced a shuffle that gives Beadle a nice NBA landing spot and a couple of more years on her deal
The pairing of Beadle with Greenberg was one of Skipper's final gifts during his largely regrettable tenure at the network
But anyone who knows anything about Greenberg or Beadle knew it wouldn't work. They are too different in so many ways
They did not look like they enjoyed being on set together — and it was even less enjoyable to most viewers
The bottom line, though, is that if Beadle and Greenberg had clicked, this would not be happening
As it turns out, someone who plans on boycotting watching the NFL and college football — as Beadle announced Thursday she would do — really shouldn't host a sports talk show that will pretty much be devoted to football in the fall

"Get Up!" will also resemble "SportsCenter' a little more, with Greenberg the clear leader of a program that will have more highlights and scores to go along with analysis
On Thursday, when Beadle made her comments about not watching football in light of the tone-deafness from suspended Ohio State coach Urban Meyer, the show was at its best, driving a topic without the usual gimmicks that have helped make it a failure so far
Greenberg was the point guard. ESPN is not replacing Beadle full time. Maria Taylor, Laura Rutledge, Dianna Russini and Jen Lada are all slated to get shots next to Greenberg and Rose
ESPN, from the inside, is selling the move as more about Beadle moving from New York back to L
A. to amp up the network's NBA coverage. They also say how "SportsCenter" is again gaining traction and talk up the pluses of adding another hour
ESPN is trying to double- and triple-down on the NBA, with Beadle the lead host

Cut a strip out of ribbon (1.2cm x 10cm).
Fold it in a half. Glossy side out.
Cut off a corner,..

...and press it.
Place one end on another,..
burn the edge and press it.
We need 6 petals such as this one.
Cut longer strip of ribbon (1.2cm x 12cm) and made the petals in the same way.
We need 12 longer petals.
Cut a circle out of felt (about 3cm of diameter).
Glue 6 long petals to the circle.
Add another 6 long petals. Glue them between the previous petals.
Make the last row out of 6 shorter petals.
Finally, glue a big decorative button to the center of flower.
And it's done.
This flower is another example of a beautiful things you can create out of piece of ribbon.
You can use to it make a brooch or a hair decoration.

Universal Flower Pop-Up Card Tutorial - Duration: 16:21.
Hi, my name is Peter Dahmen. I am a designer and a paper artist.
Today I want to show you
the instructions for a flower pop-up card
but the good thing is, that you can create your own design
with the same template.
So by using just one template, you will be able to create
different sorts of flower pop-up cards.
To start this tutorial, you need to download
the pdf file from my website.
I will now display the link to my website
here on the screen,
but I will also put a link in the text box
right here below the video on YouTube.
Ok, let's start!
Print out the template.
It consists of four pages.
As you can see, this is just a circle.
If you would cut this out, the pop-up card
would not look like a flower at all.
But still, this is the basic structural design
for many different flower pop-up cards.
Use the basic template to create your favourite flower.
Draw the kind of petals that you like best.
Let's say, you want to have six petals in the first ring.
You may draw a free line.
You may also make a waved line.
If you draw a waved outline by hand,
the petals will look very natural,
like the petals on a poppy or a rose.
If you want to have more accurate petals,
you can use a template.
If you put the petals between the dotted lines,
the final pop-up card will look like this.
All petals in these two cards have the same shape
but the rhythm is different.
For the red card, I started with petals that are placed between the floding lines.
For the green card, the petals in the first ring
are placed above the folding line, like this.
If you want to create a ring
with an uneven number of petals
for example five, seven or nine petals,
you can draw some above the line
and some petals between the folding lines.
This is the pattern that I used
to create this water lily design.
Each circle consists of nine petals.
If you want to create a flower with many, many leaves,
of course, you'll have to draw
many leaves onto your template.
And so on.
For this tutorial, let's do
a pop-up card with twelve leaves.
It will create something similar to this.
But I will do it with more rounded edges.
As I said:
You are the designer, you can
decide what shall happen on your pop-up card.
Now we have created the final template
for piece one.
Let's continue with element number two.
For the next circle of petals,
I will cut my template a bit narrower.
On the first element, I have placed the petal
right on top of the dotted line.
I recommend, that the petals on the second element
should be placed between the dotted lines.
The flower pop-up will look more natural,
if you create a pattern
which alternates between a petal in one circle
and a gap in the next circle.
But of course: You can decide, what you like best.
Don't forget to draw the glueing area.
Here the elements will overlap.
Now let's move
to element number three.
And here it is again:
When we started on the line with piece number one
and continued beneath the line
on element number two,
here on element number three we go back
to the rhythm that we used on the first page.
Once again, I will cut this a little bit narrower.
So my template will now be
a little bit smaller
to create smaller leaves for the inner circle.
Of course, this is no rule – you can do whatever you want!
Here we are.
One, two, three.
Now, what about the inner
part of the flower?
Let me show you this in detail.
Now let's focus on the center of the flower.
The shape of the center piece doesn't need to be
similar to the outer rings.
You may create something completely different.
Now let's get back
to our patterns and create
a free form for the inner element of the flower.
The templates are finished!
Now cut out all parts.
You can do it very roughly.
Now you can choose the paper that you want to use
for the real pop-up card.
I think that every paper with a weight
between 100 g/m² and 250 g/m² will be OK.
You may use colored paper or white paper.
As you can see:
Even a white pop-up card may look really nice.
Place your template on the desired paper
and fix it with adhesive tape.
Repeat this with all elements.
Use a ruler and a ball pen
to crease along all dotted lines.
So you can create very accurate folding lines.
Do this whith each element.
It's time to cut out all elements.
Now you should be as exact as possible
because you are cuttiing the elements that you will use for the pop-up card.
Cut out the flaps very carefully.
The shape of these flaps will help you
to assemble the pop-up card in an accurate way.
Keep the white template,
because you can use it again.
If you like your final flower pop-up card,
you can create several copies from this template.
Fold the element along the crease lines
as shown here.
Do this whith each element.
Now we will connect all elements.
But before we do so,
let me tell you something about glue.
Even if I may use certain types of glue in this tutorial,
you may use any other kind of glue that you like:
Double sided tape,
fluid glue, glue sticks or something else.
Start wit the largest element. Element number one.
Connect the flap as shown here.
make sure, that the element can be folded flat.
Connect element number two in the same way.
Fold it flat.
Pass the flaps of element number two
through the opening of element one.
Align the pieces carefully as shown here.
Apply glue to the small flap
and fold it over.
As you can see:
The smaller flap is attached with a distance to the larger flap.
Flip the parts over
and attach the other small flap in the same way.
Connect the flap of element number three.
Pass the flaps of element number three
through the opening.
Apply glue to one flap of element three.
The flap ofelemen three must be perfectly aligned
with the flap of element two.
Repeat this procedure on the other side.
The flap of elemen three must be perfectly aligned
with the flap of element two.
Now connect the flap of element number four.
Pass the flaps of element number four
through the opening.
Apply to one flap of element four
and fold it over.
The flap shall align with the flap of element three.
Repeat this procedure on the other side.
Take a close look at the finished pop-up element.
The flaps should look exactly like this.
To create the backing sheet,
just fold a piece of strong paper.
Fold the pop-up element flat
and put it in the center.
These tips of the pop-up flower
shall touch the main crease line of the backing sheet.
Apply glue to the flaps on one side
and close the card.
Press the card until the glue is dry.
Turn it over.
Apply glue to these flaps as well.
Close the card.
Don't open the card before the glue is really dry.
The pop-up element is finished.
Decorate the double page as you like it.
The card is finished!

Jon Venables up for losing his anonymity in December - Duration: 5:43.
It seems as Jon Venables might start counting his days living in anonymity - at least this is what the father and the uncle of James Bulger hopes to achieve

In December of this year, a legal action against Jon Venables´ long life anonymity will be taken. This new step in the murder case
is taken by the father Ralph and the uncle Jimmy of James Bulger
It wasn´t actually possible to take the anonymity from Venables but James Bulger´s father and uncle won the right to challenge
Jon Venables lifelong anonymity after he has been jailed twice for child porn offenses.
It´s the high court anonymity order granted to Venables in 2002
the two men will try to get removed from the killer. The latest re-offense
took place this year where he once again was caught with indecent images of children.
Both James´ Mother, Denise Fergus, and father, Ralph Bulger, attended the Old Bailey when
Venables was sentenced in February of this year. The injunction was granted in 2002 on the basis that Venables was rehabilitated and would not re-offend.
Solicitor Robin Makin from the Bulgers said.
But he has been convicted twice and sent back to jail due to jail due to indecent images of children most recently in February.
Venables was jailed for 3 years and four months after he admitted he had been surfing the Dark Web to find extreme child abuse images. Besides he was in possession of a sickening pedophile manual. He got charged after the police found more than 1.000 indecent images on his computer
this was the second time he was caught with images like that. On arrest, he told the police he was plagued by stupid urges.
Judge Sir James Munby the case would be heard by the new President of the family division,
Sir Andrew McFarlane. A hearing will take place on or after December 3 of this year.
The hearing will take place at London's high court. It has been estimated to take two days. The hearing will be held public.

James Bulger was only 2-years-old when he was abducted, tortured
and murdered by two 10-year-old boys in February 1993
The two boys who committed the gruesome crime turned out to be Robert Thompson and Jon Venables. The murder shocked Britain as well as realizing the killers were kids themselves
The crime made the two boy s the youngest killer in newer Engish history and they became public enemy number one with millions of Brits
The two boys snatched James outside a butchers shop in a shopping center in Bootle, Merseyside
The abduction took place when James´ mom popped into the butcher for only a few seconds
she had been holding James´s hand all the time she only let go of his hand for a few seconds to pick money from her purse to pay the butcher.
Two days after James went missing his mutilated body was found
on a railway in Walton, Liverpool. The police connected the dots when they found
video footage where they could see little James walk away with two boys
Venables and Thompson were found guilty of killing Bulger
in November 1993 and was sentenced to custody until they reached 18
After serving eight years behind bars for the brutal torture
and murder of little James both Thompson and Venables were freed in 2001
Both boys were granted new identities and lifelong anonymity
But in 2010 Venables was back in jail for violating the terms of his release by possessing child porn
It was revealed that Venables had downloaded and distributed more than 100 images of child abuse some involving victims as young as two being raped. And he had sent messages to another pedophile where he claimed to be a married mother who abused her eight-year-old daughter and offered to sell access to the cild
In 2013 he was freed from prison for the second time after a recommendation from the Parole Board
At that time, Denise and Ralph Bulger said they were "filled with terror" by the decision to grant parole to Venables.

(Only 5 to 10 percent of patients make it past five years.) "I felt like a nuclear bomb went off in my life
I was a mess. I was barely functioning," Meghan said. Her father launched into an immediate round of radiation and chemotherapy to treat a brain tumor, followed by a second round six weeks later, when doctors found another tumor had appeared in its place
