My name is Szymon, and I'd like to show you what we are about to create.
The game we are going to do is called space runner. You can see its menu now, I think
it is pretty cool. It works pretty cool.
Let me show you the gameplay.
Let's choose green ship. The Gameplay is pretty simple, all we have to do is to avoid
meteors and catch stars. For every star we catch
we will achieve one point and we have to achieve as many points as we can before we die.
We die after getting hit by three meteors.
Ok this stage looks pretty shitty yet, but we will work out a better solution later.
Here we can save our name, and if we are good enough, we will be in the scores.
Well here we are.
Okay, what do you need to know if you want to learn something from this tutorial?
I need you to know the basics of java, I need you to know what
polymorphism is what inheritance is. I need you to know and understand things like anonymous classes,
interfaces,
generic types and so on. You have to know the basics of Java because I am not going to explain the basics.

F13TH The Game: Roy on Pinehurst - Duration: 11:33.
Here's Roy, the crazy paramedic from Part 5. He's like Jason, but has garden shears and his own kills.
Strengths: Roy begins with throwing knives, has high Stalk regeneration and can run.
Weaknesses: Low defense (health), low grip strength and low stun resistance. Essentially, prone to damage.
In this patch a few other things were added as well, including a new kill (Rugby Player) and a bloody Savini Jason skin.
If you want to see the new kill (Rugby Player, unlocks at level 108) and Roy unmasked, check the Description of this video.
Roy is essentially just another Jason, but he is physically smaller, which is a nice touch.
As you can see, he also comes with Bloody and normal skin variants.
Alright, let's get started. Time to visit Pinehurst Youth Development Center.
This opening animation is most likely a reference to Joey's death (Roy's son), done with the same axe.
Roy begins just like Jason, in the shack. He also hears Pamela's voice, which is odd.
This is most likely because it's easier for the developers to make "another Jason"..
..but I genuinely hope that they remove her voice (for Roy only) in a future patch.
This patch adds two more throwing knives for every iteration of Jason, so Roy has 9 (with this one).
That's plenty to throw around.
All Jasons now move a little faster and have better grip distance, making them a bit more powerful.
Pinehurst is a large map with a lot of great stalking areas, perfect for Roy's high Stalk ability.
The fact that Roy is physically smaller indicates that he is a human being in a Jason costume.
I really hope that other Jasons are updated with the same physique..
..especially the "living" ones, like Parts 2-4 (Part 2 especially).
The first of Roy's three weapon kills is called "You're So Vein".
Looks like a gruesome forced suicide, befitting for a troubled youth center.
Note on the map that Pinehurst has a graveyard, and only one car.
It's a map that seems made for intense outdoor chases.
I can't help but wonder if an Ethel character might be added to the game in the future.
Ethel was the angry old lady who lived next door to the youth center with her son Junior.
She provided some of the most delightful slapstick to the most sleazy film in the series.
For a great song about Friday the 13th: Part 5 (or A New Beginning as it is technically called)..
..check out "A New Beginning" by the band Wolfie's Just Fine (a Terminator 2 reference).
Roy may be a tough one to play as if you are getting a lot of resistance..
..but Easy Mode is now a piece of cake. Any future videos will be Medium or Hard.
I took a stab at this one. :D
Incidentally, Pinehurst is the first map where I've seen a bot counselor hide in an outhouse.
Whereas before they only hid in closets and under beds.
This car looks a lot like the one Billy and Lana are killed in before they head out on a date.
Billy was the inept caretaker that delivered Tommy Jarvis from the Unger Insitute to Pinehurst.
If you play through Virtual Cabin 2.0, you will also see Reggie The Reckless' rubber spider pop out.
Served up on a tray! Lucky for me, window climbing animations can't be aborted.
This kill is called "Hedge Trimmer", Roy cuts off both arms and finally the head.
The shears are actually used sparingly in the movie, only Tina is killed with them (post-coitus).
The name of that actress, coincidentally, is Debi Sue Voorhees.
Roy's third and final kill is called Last Breath.
Ouch. Anyway, the character of Tina (Debi Sue Voorhees) is the subject of..
..the music video for "A New Beginning", the song I mentioned by Wolfie's Just Fine.
It seems that her nude scene made quite the impression on a lot of teenage boys.
Pinehurst has a huge main building, right out of the movie, and orange trees for intense counselor chases.
Roy must've taken his swimming lessons quite seriously, look at him go!
Here's the main building, which can be disorienting at first. It has two stories which are quite large and wide.
The stairway is right opposite one door, but the main dining room and downstairs are really big.
This must be Violet's room, another fan favorite from A New Beginning.
She had quite the death scene, doing robot moves to "His Eyes" by Pseudo Echo.
The original scene called for her to be stabbed right in the groin, but..
..after MPAA complaints, it was changed to a stab in the stomach.
Director Danny Steinmann was not the classiest man in Hollywood..
..his credits before Part 5 included porn and the Linda Blair exploitation flick "Savage Streets".
I'm still new to the map so I am just trying to smash some generators and scare out some counselors.
I understand Stalk, but Shift and Morph are pretty impressive for a human!
I guess it just "feels like he is everywhere", we'll go with that.
I happened upon the barn, where the final confrontation takes place in the film.
The scene reuses a lot of elements, like a chainsaw attack (Part 2), and a death in a barn (Part 3).
The game developers said that they'd love to add Pamela Voorhees to the game, but..
..it would be really challenging, because they'd have to change the entire core mechanics of the game.
I think Roy poses similar problems, they'd have to alter the very "foundations".
That being said, they have announced a brand new game mode called "Paranoia".
It seems to revolve around Roy, or the blue chevron mask (maybe a game of impostors of some sort)..
Maybe it's a kind of "killer tag", who knows? No exact release date has been set though.
Make ample use of Roy's Stalk ability, so you can sneak up on counselors easier.
I find that particularly fun and effective in online multiplayer matches..
The first pocket knife of the match. The patch has removed a lot of them.
I like that change, not every single counselor should stab you with one.
Tommy Jarvis still starts out with one though, which is fair.
I walked right into these firecrackers. Firecrackers serve two purposes in the game.
They stun Jason (oddly enough, haha), and distract him, making noise (and cabins glow red).
A skilled player can execute a "double bluff" with the firecrackers: use them in a cabin..
..and quickly hide. Jason will assume someone is inside, but only see firecrackers (if the timing is right).
With any luck he'll Morph away in frustration and you'll have bought some time.
These are the orange trees I mentioned earlier. Oddly enough I don't recall them in the movie.
Maybe I need to pay closer attention next time. Either way, a great chase area.
She just dove out of a window, a risky strategy. Both the glass and fall will hurt you.
It is considerable if you have a hypo spray or two though.
Almost every Friday the 13th film has a scene with a body thrown through a window.
In Part 5 it is the body of George, Reggie's grandfather, who tried to help out around the youth center.
The map seems to have its glitches, but so far I haven't encountered any huge ones.

I assume that Roy is killed exactly like Jason, sadly not in the barn.

In this episode I'm going to explore what we know about the benefits of video games in particular
We're interested in how they can improve your mood or well-being or even treat mental health issues
We strongly believe that if you're gonna talk about those benefits, you'd best be able to back it up with hard evidence
That's super important in preventing harm
Fortunately we came prepared
Now let's get a few things out of the way
playing video games in and of itself does not involve negative consequences
Even playing games for a long time or having a strong engagement alone do not cause addiction
online games can improve self-esteem without problematic use and
Games can be used as an adaptive coping strategy for stress by channeling negative emotions
Now I'm gonna need to take a deep breath for this
moderate amounts of play are linked to
positive mood
relaxation, reduced stress and anxiety
emotional regulation, reduced depression, higher self-esteem, higher self-acceptance, increases in self-confidence
improving vitality and creative benefits
When played either competitively or collaboratively games also help players to develop quality relationships
it promotes healthy socializing and can assist with social integration and cohesion
A 2013 review of over
200 international papers revealed that people who identified as moderate players had better mental health than excessive gamers and non-gamers
Overall it was actually non-gamers who consistently had the poorest outcomes
Here are, in our opinion, some of the most important pieces of research around
videogames and mental health. There is level 2 evidence from randomized control trials
The casual video games improve clinical symptoms in anxiety and depression as measured by the State Trait Anxiety Inventory
and the Patient Health Questionnaire respectively
Meta analysis shows that game based interventions are effective treatments for depression and
Meta-analyses also show that electronic CBT is proven to be effective at treating depression in the short-term
For older people, video games can improve both their general well-being and
cognitive functioning which in turn decreased symptoms of depression
This could be utilized as a resource for protecting against depression across all age ranges
Meta analysis shows that virtual reality technology is an effective
adjunct to behavioral therapies for anxiety disorders including phobias, panic disorder and PTSD
And, video games might improve attention in ADHD. So what is it about games that gives them all of these
incredible benefits?
Look, it's not a one-size-fits-all answer
The more we look into this stuff the more we find that the benefits of games are as varied as the players themselves
Depends on a whole bunch of stuff. What are you playing? Who are you playing with? Why are you playing?
What are you looking to get out of it?

An American sociologist and psychologist called Corey Keyes described human well-being as made up of three components
emotional psychological and social. There's also something called Self-Determination Theory
This is an established psychological framework that describes the concepts of autonomy

Autonomy: this is the feeling of having control every time you play a game you get that by relating to the character

consequences of your choices in the ongoing story inside of the game
Socializing as part of an online game can have observable benefits for the players
Studies have shown that loss of gamers see in-game friendships is preferable to real-life socialising
Online games fulfill a need to be part of a community: to be valued,
validated and recognized as a recipient of social support. These concepts come together to really benefit a person's well-being

Videogames engage multiple senses and cognitive functions simultaneously

There's a wide clinical agreement that the pleasure of video game play can be described in terms of that flow experience
