someone asked me recently a question,question who falls well in this mawlid period
this question was:how can i have a vision of the Prophet (sallAllahu 'alayhi wa Salam)
it's a question which was in me during many years
and it's a path of an whole life and i will not claim to examine the question from all sides,
but may be give a draft of reflexion and work
for beginning,for answer this question we'll ask two questions:
the first one is:"why does i want to see the Prophet(sallAllahu 'alayhi wa Salam)"
and the second one is "why the Prophet (sallAllahu 'alayhi wa Salam) would like that i see him?"
so for the first question "why i want to see the Prophet (sallAllahu 'alayhi wa Salam)"
i think that the answer that comes up all time is simply, obviously, because i love him.
but loving him, is it enough?
because in an known hadith related by Imam Suyuti, Imam Asbahani, Ibn Asakir and others,
the Prophet (sallAllahu 'alayhi wa Salam) talk to seydatuna Aïcha (radialah anha) and tell to her:
ooh Aïcha,misery misery and misery again, to anyone who will be deprived of the vision of this face!
and this face,when we read the hadith in its entirety, we realize that it's the Light of the Muhammadian reality (haqiqa)
so he say ('alayhi salat wa Salam),oh Aïcha, misery misery and misery again to anyone who will be deprived of the vision of this face
there is no believer and no miscreant who don't desires to see my face
so here we can understand that wanting to see the Prophet (sallAllahu 'alayhi wa Salam) is something which concerns every human being, believer, non-believer, follower or not,
miscreant, muslim or not, because this attraction for the return to the origin lives in absolutely every creature
so we can understand here that the simple fact of loving the Prophet (sallAllahu 'alayhi wa Salam) will not be enough to see him
so, what will allow establish a prevalence between servants and permit to some of them to reach the vision of the Prophet (sallAllahu 'alayhi wa Salam) ?
simply, it's indicate in a hadith where the Prophet (sallAllahu 'alayhi wa Salam) say that there is two things that the people must keep at any cost for having the guaranty to don't be lost after him:
this two things are the Coran and al 'itratu ahl el bayt, that is to say a very specific part of his blessed descent
so you have to love deeply the Prophet (sallAllahu 'alayhi wa Salam) and love his descent, particularly this elite
so, that is for the first question (why i want to see the Prophet and walk in the way to reach it)
the second question is why the Prophet (sallAllahu 'alayhi wa Salam) would like that i see him?
we can find the begin of the answer in the end of the first devellopement
that is to say that the prophetic message had been perfectly completed,the sunna is complete and perfect, the Coran too, and the mission of sayduna Muhammad (sallAllahu 'alayhi wa Salam) is perfectly end
so what will allow us to experiment a kind of return to him for that he transmit something to us that we didn't have by the usual ways
and it's by the love of the elite of his descent that is possible
so we understand that every time that the Prophet (sallAllahu 'alayhi wa Salam) show himself to a servant or any human being, this will be always for guide this person to join the elite of the descent of the Prophet (sallAllahu 'alayhi wa Salam)
the vision of the Prophet (sallAllahu 'alayhi wa Salam) is a bouchra, but you must know that this word (bouchra) can mean something good or something against you
so it's a good thing for the person if he/she is guided by this vision to return to this representative of the descent of the Prophet (sallAllahu 'alayhi wa Salam)
or if he/she claims that he is already one of the followers,and if by this vision his knowledge of this descent increase,to this condition it's in his favour
on the opposite, the one who lives the vision and turn away from the descent of the Prophet (sallAllahu 'alayhi wa Salam)
or didn't profit, didn't increase his knowledge, his proximity of the descent his case this vision turns against him.
so we understand that the Prophet (sallAllahu 'alayhi wa Salam) will manifest himself to someone in the unique purpose which is getting to know the one he gave us after him to revitalize the religion
the proof of this is in a hadith where the Prophet (sallAllahu 'alyhi wa Salam) say: "the one who see me in a dream will see me to an awake state" hadith report by Imam Muslim
why ? because the shaykh is the one who allows humans to reach this vision, the vision of the Muhammadian reality, the vision of this Face, the vision of seyduna Muhammad (sallAllahu 'alayhi wa Salam)
this is what make a shaykh is a shaykh, this i what allow the disciple in the path of Allah to say this one is my shaykh, by the fact he can tell that he seen
by the hand of this shaykh this thing he couldn't reach by an another way
and without this vision there is realy no link between a disciple and a shaykh.
it's wonder to see people following during many years some men that they call "my shaykh" whereas when we ask to them they are unable to say that they realy saw this Light which talks so many tassawuf books
so, there is two sort of shaykh: one whose we saw nothing and, relative to ourselves, has no real proof and we don't know if he is a real shaykh,
and there is the shaykh by whom we saw the Light, this one we establish him as our shaykh, there is not two like him, he is great, of an unequalled eminence.
but there is a shaykh who is greater,there is the shaykh who leads to the Haqiqa Muhammadia and there is the shaykh whose it's the Haqiqa Muhammadia who leads to him,
that is to say there is the shaykh who leads you to the Prophet (sallAllahu 'alayhi wa Salam) and there is the shaykh whose it's the Prophet (sallAllahu 'alayhi wa Salam) who leads to him
the difference between them is obvious...
so this shaykh, towards which the Prophet (sallAllahu 'alayhi wa Salam) will lead when he manifest himself to the one on the path, it's the mujaddid of the century who come at the beginning of each century to revitalize the religion
and according to the testimony of many or all Karkari dsisciples, this shaykh we meet him and we learn to know him through the Prophet (sallAllahu 'alayhi wa Salam) himself in this blessed tariqa Karkariya.
