Lenovo has pushed past the traditional laptop market and introduced their latest tablet-laptop

hybrid - the Yoga Book.

Now, I'd already seen quite a few reviews of the Windows 10 version of this tablet,

but those seem to kinda miss the mark - the interesting part of this product, in my opinion,

was the idea that this could also be a laptop-tablet running Android.

So here's my take on the Lenovo Yoga Book with the Android ecosystem.

I'm EposVox, here to make tech easier and more fun via free educational videos here

today with a review of a pretty cool little product.

The Lenovo Yoga Book is a 10.1" 2-in-1 tablet-laptop combo with Lenovo's fantastic watchband

hinge.

This is the same style of hinge that was on the Lenovo Yoga 900 laptop I reviewed last

year.

It keeps the screen from bouncing too much or adjusting the angle on its own, but is

easy to open and shut.

And it just looks cool.

The screen is a very nice-looking 1920x1200 IPS display.

Pretty damn good for a tablet.

For a fully specc'd out unit, inside is an Intel Atom x5-Z8550 processor, up to 4GB

of RAM, and up to 64GB of internal storage.

Dolby Atmos speakers are also present, along with an 8500 mAh battery.

In my month or so of use, I only had to charge it twice and I rarely had it powered down.

I was impressed.

Opposing the screen is their new "Halo" keyboard.

No, not that kind of Halo.

This is a capacitive touch keyboard where there are no physical keys - just a large

solid surface with backlighting to outline where keys would be.

I wrote a couple video scripts on this.

It was a very different experience that took some getting used to, but by like half an

hour in I was typing pretty fast and comfortably.

That was… until the Google Docs app randomly stopped accepting letter inputs or the keyboard

would randomly switch to French.

More on that in a minute.

I certainly wouldn't use this as a daily driver for typing and writing, but for quick

notes in a classroom or just casually responding to quick emails and social media posts - this

is totally viable.

This keyboard also houses an emulated trackpad, which works fairly well, though it is quite

small.

And if capacitive typing isn't your thing, you can also hand-write with this!

By holding down the pencil button at the top of the keyboard and using the included stylus

pen, you can use real ink to write on real paper while having it save in the notes app

digitally, as well.

I was very, very impressed with how natural this felt and with the quality of the results

from doing so.

Writing was detected through even the thick notepad Lenovo provides - but you have to

use their pen, which I found uncomfortable to use.

A trade-off, I guess.

I'm excited to see where this technology goes in the future.

Finishing off the physical build of the Yoga Book, it comes in Champagne Gold, Gunmetal

Grey, and Carbon Black colors and looks and feels very similar to the Yoga 900.

A nice, cool metal feeling, and completely sturdy - no flex whatsoever.

Given that the folding aspect doesn't allow for any rubber feet or gripping on the bottom,

however, it can slip quite easily on just about any surface and scratching would be

an issue to its look.

On one side you get a MicroUSB port, which is what you'd use to charge the tablet,

a MicroSD slot - which can be loaded up to 128GB - in the iPhone SIM slot style, not

sure I'm a fan, a micro HDMI output which can go up to 4K 30hz, and a speaker grill.

Microphones line the front bezel edge.

The other side features another speaker grill, headphone combo jack, volume rocker and lock

and power button.

The 2 megapixel 1080p front camera is located on the bezel above the screen, and the 8 megapixel

1080p rear camera is actually located on the keyboard, so that when it's folded like

a tablet it's actually on the rear.

Here's a couple samples:

This is a video in selfie mode test with the Lenovo Yoga Book in my normal studio lighting

setup.

So what you normally see in the A-Roll of videos.

And this is what it looks like in a standard room with basic CFL lighting, as if I was

having a late-night Skype call or something.

Obviously this is an unflattering angle down here on my lap, but up a bit more it's not

too bad.

The color is a little bit weird and it's quite noisy, but it's passable for a Skype camera.

Now this is the rear camera.

Again, still fairly noisy under normal conditions, but under studio lighting everything gets

super over-exposed.

Looks like that's just the general limitation of the camera.

It also has a huge crop factor.

We don't really get much touch to focus action.

Just a basic camera.

This brings us to the software - what is using this device actually like?

Lenovo brags about their custom Android ROM, capable of windowed Android apps and better

productivity - and I'm hyped for the future iterations of this idea - but I'm not a

huge fan at the moment.

The typical bottom bar on Android has been modified to act as a taskbar of sorts - with

the back, home, task switcher, and app drawer buttons hugging the left, then open window

indicators for the rest.

On the far right is a button to switch to the real pen writing mode.

This is alright, and a good bridge between expected Android and desktop experiences.

The clock and notifications still occupy a small panel at the top, and integrates quite

well.

I'm satisfied with this.

The home screen is fluid and responsive, and easy enough to navigate.

What Lenovo has done to desktop-ify the Android operating system on the whole is fine - the

problem lies in using traditional Android apps.

Lenovo's file manager, Google Chrome, Google Docs and so on all work wonderfully on this

device.

Maximized or in Windowed mode, I feel like I'm on a normal laptop using them.

It was a welcome surprise.

Other apps from the Play Store, however, not so much.

With most apps - games, Snapchat, Instagram, etc. - you have the choice of a pretty tiny,

vertical windowed mode or full-screen mode.

This wouldn't be a problem, of course, except most of the apps I've tried only do Windowed

mode in the vertical orientation.

To make matters worse, they don't scale properly.

The 16:10 aspect ratio of the screen means when displayed vertically, many apps stretch

out to fill the width of the screen and wind up looking super distorted.

And you're just stuck with that.

So whenever I'm using the Yoga Book in laptop mode and Instagram opens maximized, the entire

experience turns sideways until I switch to something else.

This isn't a problem for all apps - Google apps, YouTube, Facebook and Facebook messenger

do just fine staying in landscape orientation when maximized - but the elements are scaled

so largely that they're still not easy to use.

Android as a desktop operating system just….

Isn't there yet.

Again, I'm super stoked to see where this idea takes us - and I will be closely following

this project, along with Remix OS (another take on the Android for PC idea), and Google's

Fuschia OS, which is rumored to be a combination of their Android and Chrome operating systems

for a more unified environment.

And overall, the custom ROM just felt like it really lacked polish.

HDMI output seems to be finnicky about whether it wanted to work with my capture device (not

a problem I've had with other devices), and customizing certain settings just felt…

off.

Not to mention the serious keyboard problems I had while writing scripts.

They were hard to capture since they were completely random as far as I could tell - but

while typing in Google Docs, sometimes it would just stop accepting letter inputs.

I could delete text, type numbers, and so on, but it just would not accept letters.

Other times, the keyboard kept randomly switching to French.

After the second time, I went in and manually disabled all other languages myself, and it

still managed to re-enable the French keyboard and start screwing with word acceptance.

Both of these issues seemed to be tied to the auto-fill and auto-correct tools built

into their Android keyboard - that's the only way I can really figure out how to explain

it.

It was incredibly frustrating when the keyboard kept freaking out like 5 times during one

script, however.

So this is a really, really neat product concept.

I've loved hybrid laptops for as long as they've been a thing, and I will keep an

eye on future iterations of these ideas for years to come - but this is not a device I

would use as my daily driver for anything but a super lightweight casual travel device.

If I'm someone who regularly moves between an office and a home office, only needing

something basic to engage on social media and email at the occasional coffee shop stop

or something, absolutely.

But to replace my laptop with this?

Not so much.

Then again, the Windows 10 version seems to be a bit more polished.

I'll include some links to reviews of that Yoga Book in the description below.

I hope you enjoyed this review.

Divoom Timebox - The slickest addition to your setup! - Duration: 3:36.

Hi everyone, Gio here, and this is the Divoom Timebox, a slick smart clock/speaker that

sports all kinds of interesting features.

Let's take a look!

In terms of design, the Timebox looks really nice.

It comes in a square form factor, with this pretty convincing fake wood on the sides,

the black rubber buttons on top, a few ports on the back and glossy black tiles on front.

It's pretty minimal overall and I find that it looks good on most kinds of desks out there,

both modern and vintage ones.

Turn it on, and you'll see that the front actually works as a display.

The tiles are decently bright RGB LEDs, which help to sell the overall convincing retro look.

By default it works as a clock when connected to your phone, but thanks to the companion

app you can access a whole lot of cool features.

You get temperature, customizable drawings and animations, notifications, and even some

simple games.

As for notifications, the Timebox is compatible with a few built-in and third party apps like

Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, and you can selectively turn each one on or off.

Aside from that, you can also choose a static or animated image from the included, pretty

wide library, or you can create your own by drawing it through the app.

The final result looks really cool honestly and it gives you the ability to change the

mood of your desk with a simple tap of a button, so definitely thumbs up for that.

If you don't like drawings you can also opt for static colors or a few more abstract animated

patterns, some of which don't look bad at all.

One final feature worth mentioning is the sleep assist, which lets you set a timer,

color temperature, brightness, volume, and one from a dozen of built-in soothing sounds

to help you relax at night.

I find the concept pretty cool but one thing that puts me off in practice is that the tracks

are pretty short so it's quite obvious that it's looping and it doesn't do a great job

at hiding the cuts.

However, given that this is implemented via software, they could still fix it in future

updates, so fingers crossed for that.

Together with the sleep assist you also get customizable alarms, where you can set both

time and days of the week, as well as the track you want to play.

Apart from the smart clock features, the Timebox also is a Bluetooth speaker, and the sound

is pretty okay.

It gets reasonably loud given its form factor, and without noticeable distortion, but it's

a bit too bass heavy for my taste.

It works fine for casual music listening, for example while studying or working, but

if sound quality is a must you'd be better off buying a simple speaker for the same price.

And speaking of price, the Timebox goes for around 60$ on Amazon.com, which is

reasonable for what you're getting.

The build quality is good, the feature set is almost overwhelming, and the sound is not bad.

It probably doesn't shine in any area in particular, but it can certainly do a lot, and it plain

simply looks cool, which is the main reason why I'd recommend it.

In short, if you're only looking for a Bluetooth speaker, you might want to pass on this one, but if

you're looking for an awesome gadget for your setup and you also happen to need a speaker,

then look no further.

So that will do for today, don't forget to leave a like if you enjoyed this video, and subscribe

if you want to get notified when the next video comes out.

As always, thank you so much for watching, this was Gio, and I'll catch you guys in the

next one!

Power Rangers Ninja Steel Episode 1 REVIEW - "Return of the Prism" - Duration: 6:27.

Hello lords and ladies.

This is Reality Check, a new series on my channel where I review live-action shows instead

of cartoons.

I'm still work-shopping a catchphrase for it, so you'll have to excuse the awkward

intro.

I apologize for the lateness of the review, but I had my hands full with Scooby Month.

Now I can focus on catching up.

Growing up I was a huge Power Rangers fan, my first series being the original Mighty

Morphin of course.

I was without cable until around 7th grade so I had to rely a lot on VHS tapes at the

time.

For anyone too young to know what those are, they're basically DVDs but instead of discs

they're big ol' tapes that you have to rewind after viewing one.

Archaic, right?

Anyway, I relied on those tapes for many seasons of Power Rangers and eventually I did get

TV back and watched shows like Ninja Storm with it.

Unfortunately I haven't always been up to date with the franchise and have missed out

on huge chunks of it like Samurai or Megaforce.

So with the newest season premiering, I figured why not jump back into the franchise and review

it?

And that's where Ninja Steel comes in.

I gotta say it's Power Rangers alright.

I don't think most people expect anything too high quality when it comes to it.

It's got its fans and the quality usually depends on what season you're on.

It's far too soon to tell with Ninja Steel, but my hopes aren't exactly high after the

dreadfully dull and painfully monotone monologue that opens the initial episode, "Return

of the Prism."

Don't give the opening lines of your show to an actor who seems to have a limited range

of emotions.

Which he displays throughout the episode badly.

It's not all bad, though.

The premise for this particular season is that these aliens (specifically Galvanax)

want to possess the power of the ninja power stars and host a sort of intergalactic contest

to see if anyone is worthy of reaching into the nexus and grabbing them.

Think along the lines of Excalibur but with crazy aliens.

It's a fairly cool concept for the season and I'm hoping that the contest, Galaxy

Warriors, factors into future episodes.

It'd be a decent way of setting itself apart from earlier seasons.

Because I know someone will comment asking why I didn't lay out of the plot for the

episode, here it is: 10 years ago the Ninja Power Stars landed on Earth and Brody's

dad ended up vanishing while defending it from the aliens.

Fast forward to present day and Brody is still a prisoner on their space ship and eventually

escapes with the help of Red Bot (a crappy name for a robot) and their apparent shapeshifter

friend Mick.

And in the process of defending himself, Brody becomes the Red Ranger alongside the other

two mentioned below.

It's not a bad first episode in that regard and while I did have issues with out easy

it was for them to escape or how the teens hadn't somehow heard of Power Rangers up

to this point, there's been worst starts.

If there's one thing Power Rangers does well and has gotten better at is the fighting

scenes.

That's one thing I think this show's critics can't deny.

And what few action moments we see are truly well choreographed.

Now we just need some better actors and this show would be amazing, but if the actors they've

chosen to play the red, yellow, and blue ranger are any indication (Brody, Sarah, and Preston

respectively) we're in for a lot of stilted and awkwardly delivered lines.

I know this franchise isn't known for casting great actors and mostly uses unknowns, but

even older seasons have had better ones than this.

That might sound harsh and maybe things will improve.

As it stands now, it effects the quality of the show.

I've already given my opinions on Brody, or at least how bad his actor's acting is,

but let's talk a little about the other characters we're introduced to in this episode.

Sometimes I space on talking about these sorta things, so I'm making sure I do for this

review.

The other two teens that become rangers are Sarah and Preston, as mentioned above.

Sarah gets around on this really groovy looking hover-board, which to me stands out with the

other tech in the episode, but maybe this is more due to her being an engineer of sorts.

I don't have a complete opinion on her character, but I'm not so sure I'll end up liking

her.

Again, much like Brody's actor her acting can be a bit all over the place (which I guess

is better than just being bad compared to Brody).

Some of her early dialogue feels straight out of a terrible after-school special.

Then there's Preston, an aspiring magician.

His character is Asian and isn't automatically the genius, and while that would never hurt

the review of an episode, it still is somewhat a step forward and not backward.

I think I'll like him the most and not just cause he's the Blue Ranger and they've

historically been my favorites.

Rather his acting is probably the most consistent across the episode.

Hoping that remains the case.

While the writers may have won brownie points from certain groups for not having their sole

Asian be a martial arts expert or insanely smart, they do end up portraying the one nerd

they do introduce as if he were straight out of the 80's.

Not even the 80's, but society's stereotypical view of nerds in the 80's.

What I mean is: incorrect.

The character, Monty, has more in common with Minkus from Boy Meets World than any nerd

from this decade.

This has always been a problem with media.

Their view of nerds or even any similar groups like gamers has always been trapped in a false

reality.

It's the epitomy of lazy writing as all you've created is a walking stereotype,

not a character.

It's not much better for Monty's school bully, Vince, who is just a stereotypical

bully.

These two characters are almost cartoonish compared to the rest of the cast.

But maybe they're stand-ins for Bulk and Skull from Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers.

Saban these days are playing real hard on the nostalgia from the 90's and if that's

the case, it's sad and they just need to move on.

A first episode needs to really grab your attention and not let go.

Sadly this first episode bores you to tear initially, has some decent standout moments

alongside great action choreography, and then kinda delivers a lot of its lines in the weirdest

emotionless way.

I know I'll be laughed at for expecting more out of a Power Rangers show for kids,

but that's not exactly a great excuse.

There's been stellar writing in this franchise before coupled with really decent actors.

Lately the franchise has lacked that.

Although nothing can be as bad as Samurai.

They were all so bland in that one.

Basically it's just okay.

It could improve as the actors get more experience on set and really find their characters'

voices, but right now I'd be hesitant to recommend anyone watch this unless they're

huge PR fans or just curious about the series.

Or a child who will see the bright colors and flashy action scenes, and be enamored

with it.

And that's my first review of Ninja Steel.

Have any opinions on it yourself?

Leave those down in the comments below.

Thanks for watching and take care!

Light, today will indeed complicated recipe of 10 aromatic,

for the most perverted meshalschikov.

A sort samozames HARD.

While it is possible to remember laytovy recipe from the past

But as long as you can return to samozamesu haaaard.

for that they thank you very much.

All 10 aromatic will be available the link in the description, a pancake,

10 aromatic, we were generally 10 recipes from the aromatic?

From 9 were exactly like, well, Come on, is now out

10, the more someone constantly asks a little more complicated.

Here is a little more complicated.

Today's mix will similar to the very popular

Zizka, called Jam Monster, voosche in the line on how much

I know 2 options is Strawberry blueberries and of course in

We will have strawberries.

So today we are implicated strawberry jam monster

ie: write to make 9% strauberi Ripe and all, or 8% strauberi suites,

or miksanut usual strauberi Ripe with strauberi somewhere

to 5%, in general, you need to create basic strawberry flavor,

and the widest strawberry taste is a mix of the three

Lots of strawberry.

Next add interesting baking finish with cream

aftertaste, not as usual Graeme cheesecake crust, etc.

Hmmm .... Shoot, he's strawberry topych, really good even

after mixing, it seems to me number of Belgian waffles

How Facebook Started - Duration: 1:53.

From a hobby in 2004 to over 1.8 billion monthly active users, the story of Facebook is coming

up.

While he was at Harvard, Mark Zuckerberg built websites as a hobby.

He built Facemash, which allowed his classmates to rate students as attractive or not.

He also helped friends with another site called HarvardConnection.

His friends eventually sued Zuckerberg, claiming he stole their idea for the creation of Facebook.

The Facebook, as it was originally called, launched in January 2004 to Harvard students

only.

Four college roommates (Eduardo Saverin, Dustin Moskovitz, Andrew McCollum and Chris Hughes)

joined Zuckerberg to help promote the site.

Within two months it had expanded to three other universities and then eventually to

most US and Canadian campuses.

By June 2004, Peter Thiel, the founder of PayPal had invested half a million dollars

in exchange for just over 10% of the company.

By the end of the year, they had over a million registered users.

Zuckerberg didn't plan to start a business, but by wanting to build the site, having it

as a hobby and exciting people around him, it evolved into a company.

In September 2006, the site was opened to everyone and the site's growth was boosted

accordingly.

In 2012, Facebook went public.

After the stock market launch it was valued at $104 billion.

It continues to be the most popular social networking site in the world and the company

is now worth $350 billion.
