Car Seat Guidelines for Your Child - Duration: 2:15.

Let's talk car seats. Your child's first car seat is probably going to be that

infant carrier that she comes home from the hospital in. She's going to be in

this until she outgrows the weight limit or the height limit, but it's usually the

weight limit. These can go up to anywhere of about 22 to almost even 30

pounds in some seats. The next car seat is going to be what's called a

convertible car seat. This is one that can be installed either rear-facing or

forward-facing. Of course, it's going to be installed in the back seat. If

possible it's best to install it in the middle of the back seat. Now importantly,

your child is going to stay rear-facing in this car seat until she outgrows it

based on either the weight or the height limits. It doesn't matter how old your

child is. It matters how much she weighs. Now importantly, many of these car seats

will fit your child until she's almost 50 pounds, so that's close to a

four-year-old which means your average four-year-old can stay rear-facing.

That's how she's safest. Now, when your child is ready to move on to the next

car seat when she's outgrown that other one, she's either going to be forward-facing

in that same five-point harness or she's going to be ready to move on to a booster

seat. Now you can't be in a booster seat until you're at least four years old and

forty pounds, so it's both of those things. Many people are surprised to find

out how long their child needs to remain in the booster seat. It is true there are

some rollercoasters you will be able to ride before you have outgrown your

booster seat. We want you in the booster seat until you are about 57

inches tall or four foot nine, so the average 10 to 12 year old is still going

to be in a booster seat. The reason for this is that you need to be a certain height

before that seat belt is going to fit you correctly. Your child needs to remain in

the back seat until he is 13 years old. It doesn't matter how big he is. It

doesn't matter how much he weighs. Front seats are built for adults. Front seat

airbags are built for adults and front seat seatbelts are built for adults.

They won't protect your child the way he needs to be protected in a car crash.

There's plenty of time to move to that front seat, no need to rush it.

هنا اليوم في فورد إكسبلورر 2019 الجديدة مجاملة من بوب روث فورد في ديلسبورج

استعرضتها فى العام الماضى واريد ان استعرضها مره اخرى هذا العام

لان هذا البلاتين لم يكن موجود العام الماضى

دعونا نبدأ بالتسعير وسوف يكون هناك مستويات مختلفه

تبدا من 32000$

42 thousand seven hundred and sixty-five dollars sport it's going to start at

forty six thousand six hundred and twenty five and lastly the Platinum

which we are again in today that were just going to start at fifty four

thousand one hundred and sixty five dollars and to go along with those

choices of trim levels you will have three different engine setups available

as well mostly specific to the term level though for instance that base and

XLT trim level is going to give you a 3.5 liter naturally aspirated v6 putting

out 290 horsepower 255 pounds of torque how it's going to be set to the front

wheels which will come standard however there is an intelligent four-wheel-drive

system available and mpg numbers on that one are going to come in at 17 in the

city 24 on the highway but then next engine setup is going to be for the

limited it's gonna be optional on the base and XLT trim level that engine

setup is gonna be a 2.3 liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine

that one puts out 280 horsepower 310 pound-feet of torque

again front wheel drive standard intelligent four-wheel-drive optional

mpg numbers increased on that one because it is turbocharged coming in at

19 in the city 27 on the highway but then last engine setup is gonna be

exclusive to the sport and platinum trim levels this is the one we have today and

this one is a 3.5 litre twin-turbocharged six cylinder engine

putting out 365 horsepower 350 pound feet of torque power is only going to be

sent to all wheels through ford's intelligent four-wheel-drive system

giving you mpg numbers at 16 in the city 22 on the

highway in a 0 to 60 time of approximately 5 point 8 seconds but it

gets better because we have paddle shifters as well so if you put it in

that paddle shift mode what I'm simply gonna do is put the shifter all the way

to the back there and that is going to allow me full control over the shifting

here so let's test out the paddle shifters and see how quickly they react

for us

there's an ever so slight delay definitely not too bad though the

acceleration is definitely on point especially for a three row SUV very nice

but I guess I'm not surprised it does have a twin-turbo v6 so this engine

setup Elise is definitely one you do not have to worry about merging onto the

highway with but to go along with that acceleration braking is equally

important so it's at the brakes comes to a very quick stop I cannot say that for

all three row SUVs that I've tested so that's definitely nice so when it comes

to handling and ride quality it does come with an independent front and rear

suspension alone with Hill Start Assist seat all turf backwards on steep hills

also electronic power steering and by the way when it comes to the steering

feel it does feel quite nice not as loose as some of the other three row

SUVs that I driven so definitely appreciate that and probably one of the

first things I noticed especially on these PA back roads here ride quality is

very much so on point it is definitely a very smooth ride in the Ford Explorer I

can attest to that as well and so then to go along with that smooth ride

there's actually a little dial right behind the shifter there you might be

wondering what that's for that is the terrain management system that's going

to come standard on the sport and platinum trim levels is going to be

optional on the other terms but that is actually going to give you several

different terrain management mode so to speak including a normal mode which is

only going to send torque to the rear wheels when necessary there's also a mud

and rut mode which limits up shifting allows the wheels to spin when needed

there's a sand mode which delivers maximum torque to the wheels and keeps

the transmission in the lower gears and there is also a grass gravel and snow

mode which provides faster off shifts and adjust the engine torque slightly to

improve traction on surfaces with loose materials such as gravel or snow and yet

another thing I want to mention the cabin inside they explore it is quite

quiet the only thing I can really hear are the air vents that I have on right

now on the rear but that is about it there is not a whole lot of road noise

making its way into the cabin on this one and when it comes to visibility I

have seen three row SUVs worse than theirs so in my opinion it really isn't

all that bad I would say the only thing you really

have to look out for when it comes to rear visibility is if you have

third row up those third row headrests may hinder visibility slightly but other

than that for a three row SUV the Explorer definitely really isn't all

that bad but enough with the driving dynamics you guys let's check out the

exterior of this new 2019 Ford Explorer it's a good starting up front there are

LED headlights with the automatic feature that will actually come standard

on every single trim level of the 2019 Explorer if you wanted to go with the

limited Sherman up you will also get LED fog lights just below with the LED

signature lighting within the front headlights as well looking in the center

there I do want to mention that grille design and the front bumper application

will differ among the trim levels for instance with the Sport trim level

you're gonna get several more black accents throughout the exterior and with

the platinum trim level you're gonna get some more chrome accents for example

then make your way to the side the base trim will give you black door handles

and black side mirrors XLT will make those body color door handles sports

your levels going to bounce you back to black door handles and black side

mirrors but with their side mirrors they will come heated with integrated turn

signals though Clementina platinum trim are going to give you chrome door

handles and the Platinum is also gonna give you chrome side mirrors as well but

then for all trim levels all trims will give you rear privacy glass also roof

rails for every single trim level when it comes to the wheel setup you will get

18-inch aluminum alloys for the base and XLT 20-inch premium aluminum wheels for

the limited you will get 20 inch machined aluminum wheels for the sport

and a 20 inch unique design for the premium trim level that you're looking

at right now but then make your way to the back there is a rear spoiler with an

integrated brake light for every single trim level just below that rear window

wiper and once again for every single trim level you will get LED tail lights

as well so love that Ford is doing the LEDs all the way around for all trim

levels that's definitely nice and then just below it all dual exhaust outlets

with chrome tips for the base XLT unlimited and I put it that way because

if you go with the sport or platinum trim levels you will get quad tips but

don't exhaust either way so you guys know what I got to do next here as

always here is that exhaust lit

but so now since we are around back the way to open that rear trunk if you go

with the limited trim leveling up it is a hands-free liftgate so it is a power

liftgate and if your heads we're full of groceries or a golf bag or whatever

simply kick your foot underneath that rear bumper and is gonna automatically

open up for you again for the limited trim level and up but once opened up

cargo capacity is gonna come in at 21 cubic feet behind that third row but of

course you can fold that third row down bumping the cubic feet up to 43.9 good

bit of space there and with all rows folded that is gonna come in 81 point 7

cubic feet but so then let's test out the rear legroom now this is always a

fun part for me being 6 feet tall third row legroom is gonna come in at 33 point

3 inches so for reference this is how much space I have back there when it

comes to the second row legroom that is gonna come in at 39 point five inches so

again this is how much space I have back there also for the second row passengers

you will find the center armrest with cupholders and that second row actually

is also going to be heated if you go with the limited trim level enough but

now make your way to the front seats you will find a cloth finish on the Basin

XLT leather finishes are gonna come with a limited trim level and up also with

the limited and up they will come heated and ventilated and one of the coolest

parts about the front seats at least in my opinion is if you go with a platinum

trim level you will get unique design elements as you guys can see the quilted

leather on the sides of the seats they're also the platinum designation

towards the top of them definitely a very nice looking seat I gotta say and

they of course are also very comfortable in my short little driving stint that

I've done today perhaps the best part about the seats you guys is with the

platinum trim level they are multi contour front seats which means they

have the massage function so both driver and passenger can not only get a back

massage but a bum massage well so that feature typically found our Mercedes

Benz is where I remember it from but now is on the Ford Explorer that is

definitely pretty sweet but so anyways let's take a look up front here there is

a tilt and telescoping steering wheel that will come standard it is gonna come

leather wrapped if you go with the XLT trim level and up and welcome heat it if

you go with the limited trim level and up and

I'm loving the woodgrain accents that I have on the Platinum trim level that we

got here today I digress let's take a look at the key

here on the one side you have your Ford logo and when you flip it over lock

unlock that button to pop the rear hatch and that remote star button as well and

by the way that it's gonna be XLT trim level and up and once again XLT trim

level it up is gonna give you remote access with a push button start cell

what I am simply gonna do is just put my foot on the brake and press that engine

start button located just by the drivers right knee and so but then once started

up tachometer it's gonna be on your left speedometers on your right there is a

fairly large digital display as well front and center and by the way to

control what is on that digital display there are actually steering wheel

mounted controls on both the left and the right side because there are kind of

two separate digital displays within those gauges there so a ton of

information you can scroll through if you like within that but make your way

to overall interior quality all trim levels are going to give you an overhead

sunglass holder limited trim leveling up is gonna give you ambient lighting and a

universal garage door opener as well that's pretty nice twin panel moonroof

is gonna come standard on the Platinum trim level that's what you're looking at

right now and by the way if you still wanted that moon roof on the other trim

levels it is available for you in case you were curious but with this being the

platinum trim level I have absolutely no issues with interior quality there are

soft touch materials everywhere Lumina manned woodgrain accents that tie the

doors into the front - here also that quilted leather you found on the seats

continue onto the doors as well and I also like that the speaker design kind

of ties its way into the dash a little bit as well so I'll get more into the

speakers in a second but definitely a very nice finish to the 20-19 explorer

right now let's take a look at the tech display front and center here I do want

to mention if you go with the base Explorer where the XLT you will get the

standard sync system which is still gonna give you Bluetooth and audio

streaming and a six speaker sound system but if you go with the limited trim

level and up you will get the sync three system which is optional on the XLT by

the way but that one is gonna give you Android auto and apple carplay meaning

if you have a smart phone you have free navigation through your smart phone that

will be displayed up on that screen by the way it's an eight-inch color

touchscreen display so it is fairly large there also you have the ability to

control your climate control settings up there a factory navigation system will

come for the limited trim level and often

when it comes to the sound system the limited in sport Jam levels are gonna

give you a sony 12 speaker sound system and if you go with the platinum you will

get a premium Sony surround sound system so that's what we got going on today so

let's turn on the radio see we got playing this morning and let's test out

the clarity of this one serious amount of bass on this thing that was

ridiculous absolutely very crystal clear and loud so really for a three row SUV

that sound system is definitely where it's at and so but then the last thing

on the Tek display of one dimension is when you do put the 2019 explore and

reverse for every single trim level you will get a rear view camera letting you

know who or what is behind you which is always is going to leave me into safety

and so let me start on the safety side with front side and side curtain airbags

also driver and passenger knee airbags and inflatable rear safety belt don't

see that one too often so that's pretty cool as well

also in the back though latch aka lower anchors and tethers for children for the

rear car seats also back there rear child door locks you will get an auto

dimming rear view mirror with a limited trim level it up and now the more fun

stuff blind spot information system with rear cross-traffic alert for the limited

trim level and up forward sensing system same deal there XLT trim level it up is

gonna give you that rear sensing system so therefore the Explorer is gonna beep

at you a little bit if you get too close to an object so you know not to run into

that object and since we are so lucky today the Platinum trim level that you

were currently looking at will also give you lane departure warning with Ling

keep assist active Park Assist and an adaptive cruise control system with

collision warning and brake support ain't so bad anyways that is about it

Why do we downsize? declutter? Live in a small apartment and do a budget?

We do it to have a simple everyday life and we do it so we can travel and have lots of

adventures as a family.

And this time we're exploring Sydfyn: a charming Danish island with lots of castles

thatched houses, and dreamy beaches.

Our home base is a centrally located air bnb in Svendborg,

and our friends Tine and Henrik are joining us on this summer adventure

Welcome back guys this week. We are on Funen, which is Fyn

It's a big Danish island and we are exploring the southern part of it

We are at Egeskov castle right there and they have a big like car veteran car

exhibit as well. They have some planes and apparently they have a well-renowned garden as well

I did not know that. I just thought it would be a pretty castle garden

But it's been featured all over the place and can't wait to explore it. Let's check out the castle

We are on vacation with Tine you remember her from Iceland and her guy over here: Henrik

This castle as it looks today it was built in

1554 and it hasn't changed a lot since then

It's actually a family, a private family who still owns it and runs it which is pretty cool

The state hasn't taken over and turn it into a museum

but that also

Means that it has a lot of functions

and some of the rooms still look like they're kind of being used as hotel rooms

When they have visitors and parties here, which is kind of funny

There are so many cool old-time cars in here

You have to come see this if you ever visit Funen and it close to Odense and it's close to Svendborg

So many cars. Probably a 100 including the planes

The classic DeLorean from "Back to the Future" movies

They just don't make handles like that anymore

Too bad. Why do I say this every single time but I really love old cars

so beautiful, especially this kind

This is what a truck looked like in 1913

This is an old caravan/camper/trailer from 1953 made in Denmark by a furniture company

So everything is handcrafted and the furniture especially is really cool. This bunk beds here can fold down

So the upper bed becomes the backrest and turned it into sofa. You can see over here how it's turned up

To become a bunk bed and in the other side, you can see it converted into a sofa

It reminds me a lot of the clay sofas

The bunk beds the Murphy bed, bunk beds. They're really really cool. I love this

All the multifunctional furniture is amazing and it's just so much fun to see it like this

There was a bus in there right with a family who lived in it for almost 15 years

Full time which is amazing. That's something I would love to do. I don't know if it would be possible

15 years is a long time. Um

But I just think it's so cool when people feel like they want a different kind of lifestyle

Mm-hmm, and they go after it and they

Do what they want to do.

Especially living on the road. That's also cool. Yeah, so this little area without camping and RVing

It's so cool. It's right up our alley.

One last thing about this camper

It can actually fold down to become half the height. So this part here here will fold down

It's like the prototype

Yeah, you can see the hinges hinges and it also says that it's a fold down or pop-up, trailer or whatever

so what's built as the first price of a lottery

A Christmas lottery and

Nobody came to pick it up

so a family eventually bought it and they donated it to this museum here like

Eight years ago if I remember right and they they used it up til 2010 to go camping with the family

That's pretty cool. I would really like to see this one out in action. That'll be fun

This one also has a slide down top. And here you can see the tracks over there

So it's easier to imagine how it pops down up and down

One of the best things about

rising early and get to the place in the morning is that you can sometimes have places like this for yourself

It's literally nobody here and it's awesome

Thank goodness that there's a breeze because otherwise this would have been unbearable

They're actually talking about that this summer has been the best summer in I think

85 years

It's crazy and the driest one ever

So this might shape up to be the best summer ever

Because we still have one and a half more month to go off the summer

I've heard that they have a treetop thing here where you can walk on bridges up

in the tree

So I'm gonna try and find that and test it out.

Morten has already been when Max was napping. We try to sometimes

switch up so that out for example take him during nap time

I'll just lay there in the shadow

somewhere and relax and then Morten can go explore

or see something if we're in a museum like this and then

afterwards we'll switch back the other way around

So Morten has already tried it and I really wanted to because you guys know how much I love big trees

This is a little bit scary, it's so wobbly

And I'm really high up, but the trees are beautiful

It's kind of weird because I'm normally not a big fan of heights and this is the area

Wobbly and it sways from side to side

But this is the first time I've been on something high and I'm not scared of falling down

So I guess I'm improving

Before we got here we checked out the prices online and I thought to be honest

I thought they were a little bit too expensive but we're just like: Okay, it's been on my list forever

Let's just go and explore it, but I can't really tell that you get a lot of bang for your buck

here they have so many different exhibits, museums, and the castle, and the gardens, and they have so

freaking many playgrounds. They have the tree top one for older kids. They have a go-kart stuff

they have a huge playground up there and

They have a huge one down in the forest as well. So so much to keep kids entertained and if you live in this area

I cannot imagine anything but that you will have like a year pass to this place because it's just a lot of

Entertainment for kids. So do not be afraid to bring your kids to this museum because it's not a normal one

It's a whole experience. It's more like a theme park except no rollercoasters, but you know

It's just big

These hedges are enormous. They're like four or five meters high. I think that's incredible

This dress is from 1874 and that is very well kept. They must have a big like wardrobe

Container somewhere just filled with all this stuff

Egeskov castle was a lot of fun. We've been here sort of the whole day. We decided that Max could nap here

so instead of going home as we usually do we stayed here for like six or seven hours and we could spend a lot more

time here. It's recommended for everyone

especially if you have kids.

There are a lot of playgrounds and a lot of fun stuff to do and museums and cars and

good stuff

and I would say I really am surprised too at how big it is and then

The variety of things that you can do here.

They have the museums and all the history stuff. You can learn about and

I really enjoyed the little exhibit about

camping and pop-up trailers and all that kind of stuff and just seeing how people

did this on the road lifestyle many many years ago even back in the 50s and 60s in

something that looked like RVs and travel trailers, which is fantastic

So I just find that very inspiring

And it's really good for me to kind of get reminded of that sometimes. Max just turned 2 yesterday actually

and he is still a

small toddler. He is running around and have so much energy and it's kind of hard for me to see a

Full time life on the road right now, but when we come to next spring and summer

That's when we're kind of hoping that we can do a longer trip maybe for a month or two

Maybe more or maybe a few of them

It's just really inspiring and really encouraging sometimes to see that

people have done it for 15 years in a row

We're always trying to find the balance and every family is different and every family has different preferences

and what you want to do what you want to see what kind of energy you can spend doing those things and

I think for us right now these smaller trips are working out great

It's a really good way for us to test out

Things that work thinks that don't work and

we're just really enjoying Denmark this summer

It's amazing and then we're probably ready by next year to go and explore internationally

And hopefully it will be in the trailer
