What is Sky Drone 12? - Duration: 1:56.

THIS OUT, THESE PICTURES

THIS OUT, THESE PICTURES

YOU'RE LOOKING AT WERE NOT

CAPTURED BY HELICOPTER OR

PLANE. IT'S THE LATEST

TECHNOLOGY TO EYEWITNESS

NEWS. IT IS CALLED SKY DRONE

12 AND THE MAN WHO

OPERATES IT IS T.J. DEL SANTO.

WE'LL GET TO THAT IN JUST A

SECOND T-J. YOU LOOK AT

THOSE PICTURES, THEY WERE

BEAUTIFUL.

STUNNING, RIGHT. THIS IS SKY

DRONE 12, IT'S A DJI INSPIRE 1

QUADCOPTER. QUADCOPTER

BECAUSE IT'S GOT 4

PROPELLERS THAT HELP LIFT

THIS AIRCRAFT UP INTO THE

AIR. IT ALSO HAS A CAMER,

WHICH YOU CAN SEE MOVING

UP AND DOWN. AND I CAN

CONTROL THAT WITH THIS

CONTROLLER. AND YOU CAN

ALSO CONTROL WHERE THE

AIRCRAFT GOES.

WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO DO BE A

LICENSED DRONE OPERATOR?

A lot of studying on topics like

principles of flight, flying in

safe

airspace and weather...that part

came easy for me.

I studied the same material

airplane-pilots do. That is

just for

the FAA certification. We went

beyond that certification. I

went to

drone school (there is such a

thing)

where I learned flight

maneuvers,

about the Inspire 1 aircraft and

most

importantly...safety.

What are we planning to use the

drone for?

To cover news stories like

weather,

breaking news and certain other

events. Sky Drone 12 would be

especially valuable after a

natural

disaster or storm..or any story

where an aerial perspective

could

be helpful. For example, we

could

show areas impacted by flooding,

or

the aftermath of a snow storm

from

the air. We have specific rules

to

follow, the most important of

which

is avoiding people and we must

respect people's privacy.

If you'd like to learn more

about Sky

Drone 12 you can go to wpri.com,

and you can follow Sky Drone 12

on

Twitter and Instagram. The

handles

are "sky-drone-12". We'll be

sharing

all the beautiful, unique

pictures and

video we gather.

VERY NICE, ALRIGHT, THANK

YOU TJ.

What is a Table Read? with Calum Worthy | How a Show Becomes a Show | Episode 1 - Duration: 2:09.

I'm Calum Worthy.

This is How A Show Becomes A Show, where

I take you step by step through how a show actually gets made.

Here we go.

[THEME MUSIC]

Hey, everyone.

It's the first episode, so we're going

to start at the very beginning, the first day of rehearsal,

which usually includes what we call a table read.

What is a table read?

Let's find out.

[MUSIC PLAYING]

So this is when everyone gets together and reads the script

out loud.

You get to meet everyone.

They're a little nervous.

You eat a lot.

It's fun.

Let me quickly introduce you to everyone that's

part of "Lost Generation."

We have Anna, the director, Kyle, the writer,

my amazing fellow actors.

They are Craig, Patricia, Emrah, Kenny, Will, Jonathan, Frida,

Melissa, Katie, and, of course, moi.

I couldn't be there in person, so I Skyped in.

So did Alex.

Last but not least, the legendary Duncan Sheik.

He wrote and composed all the music for "Lost Generation."

So basically, everyone gets the most updated version

of the script.

And then-- surprise, surprise-- we read it out loud.

It's the time for us to ask any questions,

make any changes to the script, and the writer

gets to hear it read by the actors for the first time.

In this case, we actually got to sing some of the music as well.

[COLLECTIVE SINGING]

This may actually be the last time that all of us

are in the same room together, because we have different shoot

schedules.

And some of us aren't in any scenes together at all.

So this is the only time that we see each other

during the whole production.

So while we're at the table read,

the production team and crew are hard at work doing other things

that make a show a show.

We're going to check out what those things are

in the next episodes.

See ya.

What makes a design great - Duration: 14:56.

if I were to ask you what makes the

design great what would you say off the

top of your head that's probably a

pretty tough question to answer

you'll probably say something like oh I

need to look good or it needs to attract

my eye or something to that effect

well in fact most people don't really

know great design until it's staring

them in the face but in this movie I'll

be breaking down three basic elements

that you should be looking for that

makeup good design and also give you

some examples of designs that i found

that fall in line with all three good

design follows what i like to call the

f3 rule which stands for form feeling

and function form refers to the

aesthetic part of the design meaning

what it looks like in order to exhibit

good form a design must be visually

appealing to the audience with a good

color palette and well-thought-out

typography while aesthetics are one of

the main things we think about when we

talk about design they're definitely not

the only piece to the puzzle Steve Jobs

once said that the design is not just

what it looks and feels like design is

how it works

one of the other pieces that makes a

great design work is the feeling when we

talk about the feeling of a design were

referring to whether or not it stays on

message if there's a consistent move

that it creates and whether or not that

mood evokes the proper emotional

response from the intended audience

Donald a Norman once that we have to be

aware of this that designers and learn

how to affect and guide the emotions of

those who view our work the final

element in the f3 rule is function

function refers to how something works

and whether or not it serves its

intended purpose that means being easy

to read and understand and also that the

form is executable within the given

medium in which it is to be presented

for instance is this artwork

reproducible on a billboard will this

typeface work on this packaging design

one of my favorite quotes on function

which sadly i'm unable to attribute says

that form without function is just a

pretty sheet of paper you know that's

very true

you should always be aware of what your

design is supposed to do and where the

finished piece is supposed to go

keep that in the back of your head

throughout the design process so you can

better match the form to the intended

function of the finished piece

alright now that we understand the three

basic elements of good design

let's take a look at some examples that

I've collected in four main categories

ads business cards brochures and logos

will start off with print advertisements

i'm just going to go through a few of

these let you look at them and i'll talk

a little bit about why I think they're

good

here we have an ad for mini cooper this

came out around the time halloween kinda

nice playful field you can see the

typography is very clear very easy to

read everything really has its place

here the form is great the function is

basically to get you excited about this

place for brand

well nothing's more playful than an

upside-down car and this was printed as

a poster that was hung up in several

subway station that was also i believe

on billboards and things like that so it

does serve a purpose it serves in the

purpose well it was coming out right

around halloween two ties into that as

you can see here it's got a very nice

overarching theme is just a very cool

piece with a nice little playful design

second up is one that when you first

look at it you might think this isn't

great design it's an ad for a blender

looking to tend to like wait a minute

what that this is an ad for a blender

but hear me out

the only part of this that even tells

you that it's about a blender the bottom

right-hand corner where it's weird

actually has the name of the company and

the blender but it's a play on words

it's a strawberry-banana how do you do

that you put that in a blender so this

is just an iconic symbol that people

will immediately see recognize there's

not a whole lot going on here but it's

instantly memorable it's got great form

the function is to get you intrigued and

that's exactly what you're doing here

you're very intrigued why is this banana

look like this and then in the bottom

right hand corner you look and there it

is it draws you into that corner so that

you can figure out what this is all

about

now if I'm looking at this my first

reaction even if I've never heard of

this brand before is to go search for

the name just because this is such a

creative piece now we've got one of the

most iconic design agencies in the world

nike

Mikey's creative department does an

amazing job without even using words

sometimes which is really kind of crazy

you see here on this and you've got the

splashes of colors indicating new color

options for the shoe you've got the

iconic switch in the bottom so that it's

instantly recognizable this is a brand

that you know that you trust that you

get excited about

so without even saying anything there's

no typography to read here there's

nothing to really comprehend or

understand it's just something to get

you excited about the product the

function here is to get you interested

to make you kind of look at it and just

wonder like how are they doing that with

all the splashes of colors and whatnot

and then of course to draw you into that

check mark to say up it's a Nike shoe

cool let's go check out those shoes so

again another iconic piece of design now

ads are usually simple and iconic

they're also very representative of the

brand as you saw in the nike brand and

also the mini cooper and then they are

also able to tell a story without using

very many words as you saw on all three

of those ads that i showed you there

there's not a whole lot of words

anywhere on those pages and just take a

look at any billboard as you drive down

the road they know you only have a

fraction of time to see what they're

selling so they want to make as big an

impact on you as possible without

distracting you on the road business

cards on the other hand completely

different story

take a look at these examples here we've

got a nice business card which basically

uses the concept of positive and

negative to show the front and back side

of the cards on the front side you've

got a small very subtle version of the

logo nice contrast with dark background

white typeface you flip it over on the

back and you've got the name of the

person all the information again black

type on white background its the

negative of the front very good use of

white space there then on this one right

here we've got a more playful design

almost like they've hand-written this

and then of course the call to action

right there on the front very basic here

but very impactful look at that big

arrow pointing you right there hey email

me hey call me when you've got this one

right here which is my favorite because

not only does this make good use of the

white space and then

it provides a ton of information it's

got the name is that the address it's

got the phone number also got the email

address but check out around the edges

of this obviously this person is in the

construction

he's a builder so he's used this

business card to make it almost looks

like a section from a ruler which i

think is genius because that's what

these guys do they bring out the ruler

the tape measure protractors whatever

you can i use to design and build houses

our offices or whatever they're doing

and that is just a tremendous use of the

space and also a great way to provide a

little bit of extra context in the

business card as well when you're

dealing with business cards business

cards should be clean elegant and above

all legible they should also be

informative people want and need

business cards in order to gain valuable

information about your business don't

make them have to hunt that down

business cards can and should also be

unique

nowadays with modern printing

technologies you aren't just limited to

standard 3.5 inch designs of the old

days

think outside the box and come up with

your own idea although digital

publishing is all the rage now printed

books and brochures are still

commonplace throughout the world

check out some of these examples that I

found while doing research for this

course

here's an interesting brochure this is

for a farmers market and as you can see

it's very bright very colorful but at

the same time use a dark background

create really heavy contrast this is a

great example of using contrasting

design everything in this piece screens

contrast it's also very fun very light

and it makes you excited to go to

whatever event this is you can see here

they're making good use on the cover to

give you something very interesting

visually appealing to look at it does

also give you some information that says

rain or shine every sunday let you know

that it's a farmers market right there

off the jump then you've got on the back

the calendar of events which is well

spaced well-thought-out the type has

nice hierarchy so you can see the date

where it's located and you can see all

the information about the individual

events very nice and space now now we

can see a whole lot about the inside but

what we can see is we have nice accent

pieces

underneath and on top of the text

element continuing the theme of that fun

vector artwork look throughout the

entire piece and then you've got nice

looks like well thought-out typography

with contrast differentiating between

different parts of the text making it

very easy for you to go from section to

section next up we've got this

interesting piece which is actually a

book you can see here that this is a

portfolio of sorts and this is a printed

book i love the look and feel of this

the cover design screams graphic design

I mean what about that does not it looks

like pixels it looks like paint it looks

like color swatches this is all very

much in the realm of graphic design then

on the inside

you've got a nice mosaic of the

different pieces that this illustrator

has created you've also got different

sections which are differentiated by the

big numbers and then underneath there

telling you exactly what you're getting

right to look at so illustration artwork

and you've got page numbers down here at

the bottom with a nice little call out

right there to show you where the pages

this is a great example of using big

bright bold typography mixed with

interesting visuals the only thing that

I would say about this one is I just

don't know where to look

there's so much going on all at one time

that it's just very enchanting and so

creating something like this where

there's visual appeal at every single

turn really keeps your viewer engaged

our final piece here is a menu design

now this is something that you may want

to take note of giving the project that

we're going to be working on later

notice that the menu design here has a

big photo of some of the food in the

background very important as a

restaurant I think to include some

pictures of the dishes that you serve

maybe in some of the table settings

maybe some photos from the actual

restaurant itself then it's got

information about the restaurant right

there at the very top

it's fresh always fresh ingredients then

it's got information about the

restaurant where it's located phone

number

hours of operation then at the bottom

it's got the logo nice simple iconic

very contrasted with the white

background that it's on move down to the

bottom the inside of the menu you've got

nice accents on either side almost like

bookends with the

plates on either side there and then

inside all information about the food

that is going on in this particular

establishment well-laid-out nice use of

white space nice contrast light

background dark-type this is a really

good example of a very well done menu

now we're talking about brochures

brochures need to be extremely

well-organized and also visually

appealing

it's an information document people need

and want to read it and they also need

to be able to read it always create your

brochures with the end user in mind that

means doing your due diligence with

clients and understanding their target

audience before you begin the project i

also think brochure should be easily

read and scannable you want people to be

comfortable whether they're sitting in

to read the whole thing or simply

skimming around trying to find one

specific section of the layout all right

now let's move onto probably my favorite

piece of the design world logos let's

start off here with this logo for seed

sumo obviously it's very easy to

understand the visual elements here

you've got a sumo wrestler carrying a

big seed we know this is a seed because

it's got a little plant sprig coming out

of it indicate that's what that is it

makes great use of geometric shapes here

everything sort of flows together in a

circular type look and feel then you've

got nice type set away from the logo

element well-spaced well-set very nice

next up meat lovers this is another one

that I think makes good use of space and

also incorporate a lot of different

concepts so we've got the type

meatlovers gourmet burgers okay let's

think about what that might look like

you might think well where's the burger

will check it out here in these little

heart elements at the very top the top

part kind of colored the same color as

bread the second heart that's green

represents lettuce purple for onions red

for tomatoes

this is the top half of a sandwich and

they're in heart shape so they love me

they love sandwiches you're getting the

idea here that's what logo should do

logo should make you think but at the

same time be easy enough so that after

just a second or two you instantly

understand what it is and then you'll

recognize it forever

next up here Dolly's kitchen this is

another favorite of mine because it

incorporates a lot of cool things got

the rolling pin up front which is a

great place to put the word kitchen and

got Dali's arc over the top of what

initially I thought was a doughnut but i

have since come to understand that this

is actually a cupcake with sprinkles and

a cherry on top

so again nice use of the space way to

incorporate the type into the actual

design elements you don't have any need

here for any type of type underneath or

around this object it's all incorporated

into the shape itself making that is

super easy and iconic piece now logos

need to be instantly recognizable people

should take one look at it and go oh

yeah that company I know who that is

think about Apple coca-cola B&W when you

see the logos for companies like that

you instantly know the brand to which

they are attached logo should also be

easily repurposed which means they

should look good on a website a business

card or even a billboard finally logo

should also strive to be timeless

inappropriate

now that's not easy to do if you're

someone who constantly hops on every

single design trend look at companies

like Nike thats which has been around

since 1971 and it's still as relevant

today as it was back then that's the

kind of staying power

you should strive for when you're

creating a logo so what makes the design

great

well the real answer is a lot but

fortunately now that you understand it

you'll almost always know it when you

see it

Uncommon Sense: Protesters Show What Indoctrination Looks Like - Duration: 2:00.

Hey, everybody. I'm Nick Kangadis for MRCTV, and this is Uncommon Sense.

There's not going to be any sugarcoating today. The Golden Jackass is going to humanity. At least the liberal, Socialist portion of it.

Brittany Hughes, the MRCTV crew and I were at both the Inauguration and the Women's March on Washington this past weekend.

I can only speak for myself, but by the end of the two-day stretch amid the liberal lunacy, I was both physically and emotionally drained.

The sea of self-professed tolerance that was the Women's March was even more intolerant than the granola eating,

Red Bull drinking, mask-wearing intellectual amoebas that I encountered during the inauguration.

And there were two things that I came away with from our two-day, IQ dropping jaunt are pretty common sense.

One -- What rights do men have that women don't? I'm pretty sure that if a man and a woman both said something sexist,

the woman would get the benefit of the doubt while the media would call for the man's public castration.

Two -- In those two days, the one chant that I kept hearing over and over was, "This is what democracy looks like."

Except, of course, opposing views that were clearly not welcome anywhere near the triggered, safe-space,

easily offended adults who acted like petulant children that didn't get their way.

No. This is what indoctrination looks like.

The sheeple all kept mindlessly word chucking the same phrases, sounding more like a cult than a movement.

There was clearly no free exchange of ideas. That's not what they want. They want everything their way or no way.

And you can't tell me otherwise, because I was in the middle of it for two days and wanted to gouge my own eyes out.

If this past weekend made anything clear to me, it's that this was not what democracy looks like.

If You Had To Do A Real Job...What Would You Do? - Duration: 2:13.

Is it bad that I haven't thought about this?

Umm...

I'd love to be a nurse, I think.

I'm really interested in medicine, I think maybe just because I'm a massive hypochondriac.

I'd like to be an osteopath.

I think that would be kind of a lovely thing.

I mean, in my wildest dreams I imagine I could be an architect.

The other thing I would do, is be a painter, which is what I wanted to do before I went

off to drama school.

I'd be a painter.

That's what I intended to do when I made that fatal misstep.

I just wrote a book, so I would like to do a screenplay maybe.

I really think I would have either been a journalist, probably a sports journalist.

Either that or a journalist but probably politics.

I don't know, maybe kind of work like in politics, maybe even.

Think I'd probably get fired pretty quickly.

Yeah, it'd be like Warren Beatty in Bulworth, or something.

Just like - "he's going off message!"

Or...like a history teacher.

Probably at a high school level.

I wouldn't be ambitious enough to be a university professor.

I'd really want to work in research and I'd probably want to be a professor.

People don't believe me because I am a rambler and I'm quite loquacious and don't stop talking,

but a librarian.

I just love - I love the atmosphere in libraries, I like that kind of idea that you can tell

people to be quiet.

And I like stamping them.

Stamping the books.

Shhhhh!

Well I've done a lot of jobs.

I worked at an ice cream parlor, at a pet store, and in a bookstore.

I used to think I'd be a barrister.

But that's probably because I enjoyed court room drama.

You know what actually another thing I would be is a baker.

So, maybe like be on like Britain's Great British Bake-Off or something like that.

Ping-Pong!

I'd be a Ping-Pong player.

I would train very hard at being a table-tennis player.

I'm fine but I'm in no way Olympic standard but I think with enough time I could get there.

Why We Believe What We Believe in 4 Minutes - Duration: 3:45.

Have you ever stopped to think why you believe what you believe?

Well if you're like me, you think about that shit every day and it gets kind of annoying.

Anyways, when I was younger, I blindly believed whatever it was I was taught by my parents

and teachers – which is something most of us do and that scientists have found is in

our biology.

I never stopped to think I might be wrong, or that another person's view might be right.

It was only after being introduced to the ideas of eastern philosophy and religion,

and meeting various Christians and Muslims that my mind started to open to the possibility

that my rigidly held beliefs might be wrong.

Thought Monkey here.

Today we'll explore the why of our beliefs.

Not why they are right or wrong, but why we believe them in the first place.

Weeks ago I was listening to the Joe Rogan podcast and an interesting idea popped up

in the discussion that Rogan was having with his guest.

It was the idea that most people believe what they believe based on the geography of where

they grew up.

So for example if you grow up in a particular part of India, nine times out of ten you'll

believe whatever beliefs that the people in that part of India believe.

Likewise if you grow up along the Bible belt of the United States south, you are more likely

to practice a form of evangelical Protestantism than a person who grew up in the ultra-progressive

Bay Area of California.

The same could be said of any kind of beliefs, whether religious, political, or simply your

beliefs about what you should eat for breakfast or when you should drop the kids off at the

pool.

While our biology craves belief – as without it we'd lose our sense of belongingness

–our beliefs largely come from our environment.

You see it is the combination between our biology and geography that largely dictate

what we believe.

And it is often only through exposure to different beliefs that one can start to think about

changing her or his own beliefs.

So when you or I say or think that this person is wrong or crazy because he or she believes

in something called Allah, she or he might be thinking the same thing about us and our

beliefs.

It is only when you can understand that people believe what they believe based on their experiences

in life which largely come from the places they grew up, that you can start to accept

the fact that you too are a product of your experiences and your geography - which is

probably why you believe what you believe.

In the west where objectiveness is highly valued, we often feel we are more logical

than other places in the world.

Despite this, something we all do, whether from the western world or not, is engage in

bias.

Bias is easy to understand, but hard to perceive in ourselves.

It's an assumption, belief, conclusion, decision, or emotion that changes our perception

and limits our choices for responding to an experience.

There are at least 75 types of biases that psychologists have studied.

One of the most common is something called confirmation bias which is when we find evidence

that support our beliefs while discounting any evidence that goes against our beliefs.

You can see this is modern day politics where many republicans around the U.S. have refused

to believe that climate change is actually happening despite the overwhelming amount

of evidence that supports such a view and the fact that 99% of scientists agree with

that belief and the fact that the east coast of Florida is slowly disappearing into the

ocean.

There is some evidence that shows that one reason we may stick with our beliefs is that

we have to consume extra energy to rewire the neurons in our brains when we change that

way we think.

In other words – those who refuse to change their beliefs – may make that choice simply

out of neurological laziness.

So it seems that our beliefs start with our biology, develop due to our geography, and

stay put because of laziness or maybe even fear.

Life is short though.

Why spend all your time thinking about beliefs or trying to rewire your brain just to change

your beliefs?

Just go out and do you.

Your beliefs really only affect you and the other people living on this planet.

Oh and probably the planet too.

No biggie – just live baby.

The Weirdest Things Found in Humans! - Duration: 11:37.

Here are the weirdest things found in Humans!

10 - A Loaded Gun

Meet Dallas Archer, the woman who was arrested with a gun in her vajayjay. A loaded gun at

that. Does that seem smart to you? While Ms. Archer's fate could have been much much

worse, she pled guilty to felony charges and received a three year prison sentence, three

years of community service and two years of probation.

According to reports, she was arrested for driving without a license when she was pulled

over for speeding. Naturally, they brought her to a jail. A female officer was doing

a routine check when she noticed Archer was packing heat in her vajayjay. They pulled

out a North American Arms 22LR revolver, which was reported stolen in 2013 from a retired

car salesman.

There's no real reason for why she was driving around with a gun in her vajayjay, but her

lawyer speculated that she was high, which is probably the most logical explanation.

9 - Cell Phone Cable

Remember that one scene in the Dark Knight where The Joker put a cell phone inside of

that dude as a way to cause a big giant distraction so he could escape? What happened to this

guy was similar, but probably worse. He visited his doctor, complaining that he hadn't been

able to pee for eight months straight. That sounds pretty terrible, and the reason, as

you probably could have guessed, was because of a cell phone cord that was stuck in his

bladder. Okay, weird. But wait for it…..how'd it get in there?! Okay, you guessed it, conventional

wacking off wasn't enough for this guy, so he decided to stick a charger cord down

his d*ck! Somehow the cord ended up in his bladder and he couldn't retrieve it! The

surgeon tried to remove the wire through the urethra but found that it was impossible because

it was knotted inside. F*ck!! Instead, the doctor had to remove the cord removed surgically.

I'm gonna guess he had to get a new cord…..

8 - A Giant Hairball A cat coughing up a hairball is normal. But

a human? Not so much. Sophie Cox suffers from trichotillomania, a condition where a person

feels compelled to pull their own hair out. She also suffers from an associated condition

called trichophagia, or, 'Rapunzel syndrome', which compels her to then ingest the hair

she just pulled out. Put those two together, and you have a giant hairball in your stomach.

She had a spell of pulling her hair out as a toddler, but thought she had grown out of

it. That is, until she began to lose weight rapidly and noticed bald patches appearing.

While pregnant with back in 2014, she suffered excruciating stomach pains. Unable to keep

food down, she lost 84 lbs in two years!! Doctors had no idea what was wrong with her.

They tested for gallstones and stomach cancer but found nothing. It wasn't until she had

an endoscopy in November 2015 that doctors discovered the giant hairball. It was too

big to break down in her stomach, which left her malnourished and dehydrated. Can you believe

that the hairball measured 30cm long and weighed 14 lbs?! Finally, in April of 2016, Sophie

had the 14 pound hairball surgically removed from her stomach. Let's hope that she can

stop herself in the future from eating her own hair!

7 - An Eel

You know those icky looking creatures that slither around the sea known as eels? Admit

it, you watched The Little Mermaid and the Princess Bride, and probably noticed the eels.

Not exactly good looking creatures right? Yeah, well one of those managed to get into

a man's body in 2013. I repeat, an eel, as in those long slimy fish from the sea,

was inside of a man's body. A man in China's southeastern Guangdong province admitted himself

to a local hospital after he reportedly got a live eel stuck inside him and was claiming

to be in intense pain. The eel had chewed through the man's colon, perforating his

large intestine, and became stuck in his body cavity!

So what was the eel doing there? Apparently the man shoved it up his a*s for pleasure.

After deciding that it'd be a great idea, this dude inserted a 20-inch-long Asian swamp

eel into his anus, after watching it done in a p*rn movie of course! He had to endure

an all-night surgery to have it extracted, not to mention a lifetime of humiliation.

Not this guy's brightest moment I'm sure…...I mean, he could have stuck it in tail first

right? Pfffft!!!

6 - Spiders

If you have arachnophobia or maybe even just a little bit skittish of them, this may just

freak you out juuuust a little bit...you've been warned. British singer named Katie Melua

had been hearing strange noises in her ear for some time. She decided to visit a doctor

to see what was going on in her head. It's a good thing she did, because he discovered

a tiny little spider living inside of her ear! She speculated that the spider must have

been in a pair of earphones she uses and crawled that way.

Melua, best known for hits such as Nine Million Bicycles and The Closest Thing To Crazy, decided

to release the spider in her garden when she got home. Apart from shuffling and random

noises in her ear, the spider apparently didn't bother her too much for the entire week it

lived in her ear.

20 Cobblestones

According to the internet, which of course, is the most reliable source of all time, a

Chinese girl knowingly ate 20 cobblestones in 2006. As strange this is in and of itself,

her motivation was even stranger. She apparently had a really big fight with her boyfriend,

and rather than find comfort in a friend and a tub of ice cream like girls do in the movies,

she decided to gobble up a sidewalk.

She had thought they would pass through her digestive system, but that didn't happen.

They actually stayed intact and according to reports, she could feel them clanking against

one another INSIDE her stomach. Needless to say it was pretty painful. While doctors advised

her to get surgery, there's no indication that she did. In fact, I don't know if this

really happened. What do you guys think?!

5 - Forks and Spoons

A Dutch woman named Margaret Daalman went to the hospital to get help for a really bad

stomachache. Doctors ran some x-rays and were astonished by what they discovered. This lady

somehow had swallowed silverware. And a whole lot of it.

During the emergency surgery they removed 78 forks and spoons. She later admitted that

when it was time to eat, she would eat the silverware instead of the food. She couldn't

explain why she felt an urge to eat the silverware, and said that she couldn't help myself from

eating it! She apparently never ate knives, however, and she couldn't explain why not.

She had been treated for doing this before and was eventually diagnosed with borderline

personality disorder, a condition for which she had been receiving treatment.

That explains why it happened, but how it happened is still a mystery. How does someone

swallow an entire fork or spoon without choking or serious hurting themselves? How?!

4 - Maggots

Here's another crazy story of someone finding something weird inside an ear. A 92-year-old

Illinois woman with Alzheimer's disease was discovered with 57 maggots living in her left

ear! The 92 year old lady, Catherine McCann, was unable to speak or care for herself because

of the disease. She lived at a nursing home where staff eventually discovered the buildup

of bugs in her ear and sent her to a hospital.

Apparently, she saw a doctor for treating "wax buildup" in her ear nine days before

the discovery of maggots in her ear, and was prescribed drops. Her nurse supposedly gave

her drops in her ear when one day the nurse discovered the maggots crawling in her ear

and took her to the hospital. Nursing home administrators speculated that the fly may

have gotten into her ear when a private duty caretaker took her outdoors for walk. Ugh!

3 - A Fetus….Inside a Man

A farmer in India named Sanju Bhagat was rushed to a hospital complaining of stomach pain

and breathing problems. His stomach was so bloated that he looked 9 months pregnant.

Doctors thought he might have had a giant tumor, so they decided to operate and remove

the source of the bulge in his belly right away.

To the doctor's surprise, he saw something he had never encountered. As he cut into Bhagat's

stomach, gallons of fluid spilled out -- and then something extraordinary happened. To

his surprise and horror, the doctor just put his hand inside and found a lot of bones inside.

First, one limb came out, then another limb came out. Then some bits of genitalia, then

some hair, then some more limbs, and then a jaw! Inside Bhagat's stomach was a strange,

half-formed creature that had hands that were very developed, with fingernails that were

quite long.

At first glance, it may look as if Bhagat had given birth. But in reality, Mehta had

removed the body of Bhagat's twin brother from his stomach. Bhagat, they discovered,

had one of the world's most bizarre medical conditions, fetus in fetu. It's an extremely

rare abnormality that occurs when a fetus gets trapped inside its twin.

The trapped fetus can survive as a parasite even past birth by forming an umbilical cordlike

structure that leaches its twin's blood supply until it grows so large that it starts to

harm the host, at which point doctors usually intervene.

His mother had twins in her womb, but the other fetus was actually trapped inside of

him, and lived as a parasite for 36 years! In all of medical history less than 90 such

cases have been recorded. Of course the fetus was more of a parasite and not an actual baby,

and the doctor's operation to remove it was successful. Just wow.

2 - Buzz Lightyear

If you're a 90's or maybe even an 80's kid you probably think that Buzz Lightyear

is a pretty cool action figure. You probably wouldn't, however, feel compelled to shove

him up your a**. That is unless you're the hapless individual whose X-Ray appeared in

a book called Stuck Up!: 100 Objects Inserted and Ingested in Places They Shouldn't Be.

Yes, that's a book that really does exist and it apparently chronicles the misadventures

of people putting things in their bodies. In some cases, that means shoving a beloved

Pixar character up one's anus.

You have a lot of questions, as much as I do I'm sure, such as how much lube did that

take, and if Woody was first. We may never know, and when you think about it...we may

never want to. Let's just move on.

1 - A Knife in the Head

A Brazilian cab driver named Juacelo Nunes de Oliveira got into a brawl at a party one

night in 2015. Not the strangest of things to happen, plenty of fights happen when alcohol

is involved. But getting stabbed in the head is rather rare. And getting stabbed in the

head and not knowing it is highly unusual. And getting stabbed in the head, having the

knife stay there, and not realizing a knife is sticking out of your face for hours is

just flat out bizarre!

But that's pretty much what happened in this case. During the fight, Oliveira was

stabbed several times. His assailant stabbed him three times in the torso, nicking a lung,

and then stabbed him once in the head. Somehow, he was able to get away from his attacker

and he drove himself to a hospital. When he got to the hospital, to his and his doctor's

surprise, a knife was found to be sticking out of his skull.

X-Rays show the knife lodged right behind his left eye, so how he was unaware of it

is puzzling. The knife barely missed several vital nerves in his head, which if severed,

would have affected his sight, taste, and smell. A two hour emergency surgery removed

the knife and he recovered fully.

Here's what's next!

What is Maundy Thursday / Holy Thursday? | What Does Maundy Mean? | GotQuestions.org - Duration: 2:18.

Question: "What is Maundy Thursday or Holy Thursday?"

In this video, I'll answer that question, and afterwards, I'll point to some helpful

resources, so stick around to the end.

Maundy Thursday, also known as "Holy Thursday," is the Thursday of Passion Week, one day before

Good Friday (the Friday before Easter).

Maundy Thursday is the name given to the day on which Jesus celebrated the Passover with

His disciples, known as the Last Supper.

Two important events are the focus of Maundy Thursday.

First, Jesus celebrated the Last Supper with His disciples and thereby instituted the Lord's

Supper, also called Communion.

Some Christian churches observe a special Communion service on Maundy Thursday in memory

of Jesus' Last Supper with His disciples.

Second, Jesus washed the disciples' feet as an act of humility and service, thereby

setting an example that we should love and serve one another in humility.

Some Christian churches observe a foot-washing ceremony on Maundy Thursday to commemorate

Jesus' washing the feet of the disciples.

The word Maundy is derived from the Latin word for "command."

The "Maundy" in "Maundy Thursday" refers to the command Jesus gave to the disciples

at the Last Supper, that they should love and serve one another.

Should we observe Maundy Thursday?

The Bible neither commands nor forbids it.

It is a good thing to remember the Last Supper and Jesus' sacrifice on our behalf.

It is a good thing to remember the Lord's example of humility.

However, at the same time, we should avoid ritualistic observances of holidays unless

they are truly focused on God and our relationship with Him.

Observing a special Lord's Supper service on Maundy Thursday or, Holy Thursday in remembrance

of the Last Supper is a good thing to do.

Doing a foot-washing in remembrance of how Christ humbled Himself and washed the feet

of the disciples is a powerful reminder of how we are to live the Christian life.

Let's just make sure we are observing Maundy Thursday in a way that truly honors what happened

at the Last Supper.

GoatPunks | Multiplayer Mayhem for Linux - Duration: 2:42.

Hey everybody!

I'm Gardiner, The Linux Gamer.

This is GoatPunks.

A multiplayer king of the hill party game in early access by Alberto Santiago and published

by Studio Canvas.

GoatPunks was released in early access for Linux, January 20th, 2017.

I bought this game with the help of my incredible Patreon supporters.

Thanks guys, you make this possible.

GoatPunks has a cheerful, pastel design that is as striking as it is adorable.

The way the game handles splitscreen is, again, striking, with four representations of the

same mountain displayed on the screen at once.

The game has an extremely unique look and I love it!

The game's music is unique as well.

With a heavily sampled quality, and a repetitive nature that suits the game's aesthetic (not

to mention, it's quite catchy).

In GoatPunks, the objective is to become king of the hill.

You do so by making your way up the side of the mountain and standing atop its peak.

Simply hold the left control stick in the direction you want to move and your goat will

jump to an available space.

Only one player can stand on a place at once.

If someone moves into your space, they'll knock you down.

You can hold A to charge your goat and allow it to scale the mountain more quickly.

You can also press X to use your shield and protect you from incoming fire.

When you reach the top, you get a reticle which enables you to fire at your opponents.

This creates a huge amount of chaos, which is part of the game's charm in my opinion.

There are powerups you can collect along the way.

Some of them make your goat move extra fast.

Others upgrade your firepower when you reach the top.

Some levels have a KING, a boss player who is overpowered and sometimes plays unfair.

But defeating him is a reward unto itself.

The game's sound effects could use some work, as they seem to not have been balanced

against each other and often times can become quite loud.

GoatPunks retails for $9.99 on Steam.

It's a hilarious party game that definitely has potential.

If what you've seen here intrigues you, give it a shot.

GoatPunks is clearly in early access as there are gametypes which are teased in the menu,

but are not available yet.

And with only a handful of worlds available at launch, you'll need to come back later

if you want the full gamut of competition here.

But for what it is, the gameplay is polished and fun.

GoatPunks is a game I've been looking forward to for a while!

But what games are YOU looking forward?

Let me know down in comments or on Twitter @TheLinuxGamer.

Have you played Superhot?

Are you a fan of it's mind-bending time-warping mechanics?

Leave me a comment below or tweet at me @TheLinuxGamer.

You can also support the work that I do over on Patreon.

If you enjoyed this episode hit that like button and share it with your friends, and

make sure you subscribe to see more from me, The Linux Gamer.

Synthetic cannabinoids are also called what? - Duration: 0:27.

[Emily Einstein is speaking] K2 is a synthetic cannabinoid, which is a

class of drugs that can be sprayed on plant material to be smoked or sold in liquid form

Since these drugs act on the same receptors in the brain as marijuana, they are sometimes

referred to as "fake weed," but they act on the brain in a different way and more strongly,

so they can be more dangerous.

He will save what is left - DeFranco 2024 - Duration: 3:49.

Geeky Gaming Hey Geeks, it's Andrea.

Or should I say "Sup you Beautiful Bastards"?

No, I definitely should not ever do that again.

Today we are doing something we have never done befo...... My dog just burped

Today we are doing something we have never done before and might not ever do again.

I am going to share with you some facts about one of my favorite channels.

Philip DeFranco hit a big milestone last week.

He hit 5 million subs.

Just in case you haven't heard of this YouTube legend, he covers news and gives his opinions

and has one of those rare things that people just don't have anymore.

The ability to wait for the full story and not just clickbait falsities for views.

He has something else rare too.

Something magical that I wish we could find in every single person.

He listens to other people's opinions and understands that his opinion isn't the only

one.

Even within my inner circle, I have a hard time finding people like that.

Maybe that's why my inner circle is very, very tiny.

Hmm.

It's definitely not my awkward anti-socialness.

Can't be.

It is a quality everyone needs to have.

So, let's go ahead and go over some facts that you may not know about Philip DeFranco.

Alright Geeks, let's go.

8.

He won Audience Choice for Best Show of the Year at the 2016 Streamies after his 'Beautiful

Bastards' voted like crazy for him.

He certainly deserved it.

His fans have a lot of respect for him.

There were some huge channels in the running.

GMM, Miranda Sings, and freaking Rooster Teeth, just to name a few.

7.

Though his name has recently been legally changed to Philip DeFranco, his last name

was originally Franchini.

He announced this in a video after being called out by one of his viewers over snapchat who

noted his last name on his Wikipedia page.

6.

This is an important one not to screw up.

Although his Twitter account is @PhillyD with 2 L's, he spells Philip with 1.

Don't be that guy that double L's it in his comments.

Not cool, bro.

5.

He has kind of lived all over.

He was born in New York and has lived in North Carolina, Florida, and California.

You'll have to ask him if he has lived anywhere else.

Side note, I currently live in one of the cities he has lived in, but I'll just keep

which one to myself.

4.

He is a family man.

DeFranco is married to a gorgeous woman named Lindsay DeFranco and has a son also named

Philip that they call Trey.

3.

In 2007 while he was making YouTube videos he also worked as a waiter.

This guy has worked hard for everything he has earned.

It's hard not to respect people that were able to become who they want to be and achieve

what they want in life.

I'm trying to be that person someday, Geeks, I'm trying.

He has been on YouTube for a third of his life.

At just 31 years old he has been a part of YouTube for over 10 years.

Meaning for a third of his life, his job has been spent talking in front of a camera for

his beautiful bastards.

1.

In 2013, Mr. DeFranco had a discussion with Vice President Joe Biden about gun laws in

the United States.

This interview was conducted over Google Hangouts.

He asked some decent questions and didn't just make it an easy, fluffy interview for

Biden.

I was very impressed.

You can still watch this interview on YouTube.

Alright Geeks, that's going to do it for this video.

Thank you so much for hanging out with me today.

If you haven't watched Philip DeFranco before, I included his channel in the description.

He is amazing, definitely worth a watch.

If you're new here, be sure to subscribe and come back for some more fun.

Don't forget to like, leave us a comment and share with your friends so we can continue

to grow from this seed into a beautiful flower.

What the fuck am I talking about…?

Alright Geeks, I will see you next time.
